Lady Murasaki s Response To Nonfictional Literature
1. Lady Murasaki wanted to compare and contrast between these characters since Genji seems the one
sharing his opinions on fictional novels to nonfictional novels that affects their society as Tamakatsura
read her fictional novel. The rehetorical effect of the novel s main male character making these
arguments while she is reading a novel.

intellectual reactions.
3. The connection that Genji draw between telling lies and writing fiction were none at first; however,
he believes that it is necessary to tell a story. Tamakatsura disagrees on his argument about the
connection between telling lies and writing fiction. The position of the author seems to

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Professional Training
GENERAL CONCLUSION:
This research which aimed at understanding if financial authority trainers are professionally and
intellectually well equipped to instruct and assess adult learners has enabled us to attain some
important achievements that we organized into two main groups: positive and negative.
Such an appraisal was made possible by comparing financial authority trainers habits and actions with
the principles of andragogy as described in Malcom Knowles works. Thus, we were positively
impressed by their awareness of the fact that adult learners engaged in professional training should not
be given a mark for fear to hinder his self esteem. Moreover, most of them knew that adults learning
and assessment should rather be task based. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Fall, By Albert Camus
The Fall, written by Albert Camus, is a book full of many philosophical conversations and topics to
ponder. One thing that makes it so interesting is that it is written in second person, so Clamence is
addressing the reader as a character. The basic plot of The Fall is that the reader follows Clamence
around Amsterdam as they converse about life (more specifically, his life), and in doing so the reader
learns that he has been trying to find a way to live without judgement. In the end, he decides slavery is
the best answer, because if one simply skips the court and goes straight to jail, he does not face
judgement at all. This view can already tell you that although he is an intelligent man, he has many
strange and not so useful philosophies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The painting in question is a part of a larger piece called The Ghent Altarpiece, located in St. Bavo s
Cathedral. In the very beginning of the book, when the reader and Clamence are in the bar, Clamence
points out the blank space on the wall where a painting once was. He says that he was there when the
bartender put it up, as well as when he took it down. However, in the last chapter he reveals that the
reason it was taken down was because he recognized it as the stolen painting, and upon telling the
bartender he took it down out of fear of being arrested. Clamence took it home, and it had remained in
his closet since then. This, along with the other acts of hypocrisy and pompousness, show that in this
story, Jean Baptiste is a

Computer And Smartphone Addiction ( S ) Are Becoming More...
Computer and smartphone addiction(s) are becoming more and more prevalent every year. From a 1
year old children to grown adult men and women. At first glance, these electronics look harmless. But,
if used in excess, someone can easily become addicted and not even know it. Smartphones have social
media apps such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter; that s only naming a few. Many people around
the world habitually use and check on these apps, on an hourly to an everyday basis. Continuously
checking these apps will ultimately lead to addiction if not recognized and controlled. Computers have
the same effect along with help from the internet; video games, Netflix, Youtube, can all entertain
someone for a few hours. That time can easily be doubled, tripled and/or quadrupled, because of how
entertained or bored someone can be. Society needs to start realizing how much time they are
spending on their smartphones and computers. There has to be some sort of equilibrium to establish,
in order to not cause addiction or obsessive behavior. Smartphones and computers are going to keep
growing and expanding for decades. Technology impacts most of us in our life; we are surrounded and
engulfed by it. Our lives have been made easier and a little more fun by the help of technology. For
example, computers and smartphones. But, these technologies could actually be quite harmful. Can
people really become addicted to these technologies? Cooke 2 Over the last decade, computers and

Disadvantages Of Narcissism
As they were in middle class, which was higher class than what my siblings and I were at, I wondered
if this would apply to them. With my experience, I believe it would since they were of higher class
than us and those narcissists would be boastful about accomplishments and possessions. Here, some
readers may be saying that social class does not necessarily cause one to be narcissistic. I am not
saying that not all those of higher class are narcissists, but rather that it can put them for a higher risk
of becoming narcissistic. Other factors, such as social media and parenting, could also contribute to
one becoming narcissistic. Going along with the factor of parenting, the question of how that family
would behave with each other had come up. I have already seen how they could treat others outside of
their family, whether it be to put on a different face before their true colors leek out after getting to
know them. From what I have seen and heard, they tend to have a golden child and a sort of
scapegoat. In the article, The Strength of the Scapegoat in the Narcissist Family, Julie Hall, a
contributing writer for the Huffington Post, describes a scapegoat as ...the narcissist s go to projection
screen for his abusive behavior and his trash receptacle for blame and rage (2017, para. 3). The
context being this is Julie s experience growing up with a narcissistic father and how she was able to
prevail later on. In this case, the scapegoat of the family seemed to be one of the

Compare And Contrast The Legal Position Of A Formal Hospital
Compare and contrast the legal position of a formal and informal hospital patient suffering from
mental disorder. About 90% of those admitted to psychiatric facilities in England and Wales are
admitted informally [1]. The grounds for this are found in section 131 (1) of the Mental health Act
1983 nothing in the act shall be construed as preventing a patient who requires treatment for mental
disorder from being admitted to any hospital regardless of whether the correct procedure has been
followed (i.e. recommendations from ASW). The definition of mental disorder is laid out in section 1
of the act. The legal position of a formally confined patient is much easier to define as their
confinement is by definition formal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Persons held under section 136 can only be detained for 72 hours, this is to enable them to be
examined by a registered medical professional and an ASW. Arrangements can then be made for the
patients care or treatment. Mental capacity is another important difference between formal and
informal patients with regards to consenting to treatment. Providing the patient is mentally competent,
they are in a much stronger position to refuse treatment as an informal patient. Again, however, it has
been observed that patients feel coerced into consenting to treatment. Until the MCA[10] came into
force this year there was very little procedural protection afforded to those patients admitted
informally and found to be mentally incompetent. Treatment could be forced upon patients in this
situation on the basis of the doctors view of the patients best interests[11]. Within the category of
informally admitted patients we see different issues arising with regards specific groups. Women, for
example, and more specifically white women, represent one and a half times more admissions then
men[12] a considerably higher proportion of patients then their percentage of society. Some may argue
that this is due to the enduring misogyny of society, seeing women acquiesce to informal admission,
rather then being the active party in the decision that hospitalisation is indeed their best option. Others
would view this percentage difference as a result of the fact that women

Examples Of Swaddling An Infant
How to Swaddle an Infant
Come on! Giving birth to a baby is the most awesome experience any parent in the world can go
through. To us parents, caring for the little one is everything. But, how do you go about swaddling
your infant safely using a comfortable approach? Could you be doing it right? Let s quickly take a
candid in depth look at the essential details plus more.
Introduction
You probably couldn t be doing a great job yet if you don t know how to swaddle an infant. Having to
shift to the new world from the ever warm and comfy womb needs to be a carefully handled process
for the baby to enjoy the best upbringing.
Swaddling undoubtedly helps babies sleep longer soundly with minimal anxiety. It aids significantly

All you need is focus on your mind while learning how to use swaddle blankets, especially when
doing the wrapping.
Remember to keep it lovely using your soft hands. With time you and the young one will be on the
same page when it comes to sleep time.
Step 1
Get at this stage a warm and clean blanket that won t slough the little one nor be too tight. Neither
should it be too hot but simply comfortable for an infant.
Place your blanket on a flat and clean soft surface and fold it to take the shape of the triangle from one
of its corners.
Proceed to place the baby at the center slowly while keeping the shoulders just below the fold. The
neck should be along the top edge. Remember; avoid leaving any part of the blanket touching the baby
s cheek. The baby might mistake this for a breast at some point arousing a rooting reflex. You don t
want the little one start feeling uncomfortable and start crying as to why he or she isn t being fed
anyway.
Step 2
By confirming the baby is comfortable, take one of the corners of the blanket across the baby s upper
part of the body and tuck it under the back slowly and

The World Of Mysteries And Wonders

world flitted across the screen while a slightly overdramatic voiceover played up pretty much every

Imagine a world with infinite possibilities...
A nomadic trading caravan traveled through a desert sandstorm with their wares packed on the backs
of strange beasts.
A world of unending adventures...
A group of large, muscular people wearing leather and fur armors with rough looking weapons stood
off against a very aggressive looking mammoth like beast in the middle of a snow covered forest.
A world of mysteries and wonders...

However, since most of my coworkers have similar interests we get along pretty well, and most of us
were anticipating the release of SWO.
Morning Nathan. Ready for what will probably be the longest Friday at the office in a while?
As I walked into the office I was greeted by my coworker, Erik. He, like me, was clearly already
mentally ready for the weekend and playing the game judging by the fact that the SWO website was
up on his computer rather than any work. Luckily it was a holiday weekend, so the boss honestly wasn
t expecting much from us today. Additionally, a lot of us had put in a few extra vacation days as well
to get as much playtime in as possible. I actually had all of the next week off, since I had a lot of
vacation time banked up and rarely actually use any of it.
Hey Erik, let s grab some coffee and get this day over with.
We chuckled and headed to the break room, mugs in hand. This was something like a morning ritual
for us. We d go get some coffee, chat for a bit, then get to work. Today the chatting inevitably ended
up on SWO.
So, you gonna go random, or design your character?
I ll most likely go random. It s worth it to try, after all. And no matter what you end up with, the game
should be fun.
SWO s character creation was one of the things that had received a lot of discussion. In addition to a
large number of races to choose from, players would also be given the option of randomizing their

Cross Cultural Issues In Human Resource Management
Cross cultural management is the subject field management in a cross cultural context. Cross cultural
management takes place when a manager handles someone from a different cultural background. This
challenge in management is very common as businesses expand globally, hiring immigrants and work
to increase diversity. It includes the study of the influence of societal cultivation on top management
practices. Organizing a business in a diverse culture environment can be challenging but it is not
something that cannot be achieved. Nowadays, some organizations have started special awareness
programs in cross cultural management so that they can work with less cultural issues and embrace the
benefits that they gain from cross cultural management. However, there are many still fail to
understand the importance of bringing individuals from diverse backgrounds together. Most managers
think that by implementing such programs are just waste of time and resources.

Etiological Causes Of Death s Poor Diets And Inactivity
Alice Sekimonyo
HLTH 3105
Dr Piper I have learned that etiological causes of death are not diseases but they are what make us sick
in the first place. Good examples of etiological causes of death incudes poor diets and inactivity. An
epidemiological scientific study of racism classified racism as being an etiological factor for diseases
and injuries. Since then, many others researches have been focused on its measurement and how
racism plays a major role in health disparities. Despite the lack of agreement on the definition of
racism, we cannot deny that racism is a factor that has affected the quality of life of certain groups of
people throughout the history. Oxford dictionary defines discrimination as the unjust or prejudicial
treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex
(Oxford). Discrimination has been related to depression and anxiety that lead to a poor general health
outcome. The concept of racism can be defined as being discriminated against because of one s skin
color. In the 13th annual summer public health video conference in minority health at the University
of North Carolina Chapel, four presenters carefully discuss about whether or not racism is really
making us sick by looking at different approaches and perspectives.
In order to understand how racism making us sick, it is important to first understands what social
determinants of health are and how they can impact our health. The WHO defines

Symptoms And Treatment Of A Thyroid Nodule Essay
Introduction
A thyroid nodule is a discrete lesion within the thyroid gland that is distinguishable from the adjacent
parenchyma. Sonographic examination of enlarged nodular thyroids, demonstrated that 66% had
multiple nodules, whereas 34% had single nodules. Among these single nodules, 85% 90% were
proved to be benign. Adenomatous nodules represent most of benign thyroid nodules (80%), whereas
the remaining benign nodules consisted of adenoma, cyst, and focal thyroiditis (1).
The differentiation of single benign nodule and malignant one is considered an important goal. Early
diagnosis of thyroid cancer avoids unneeded surgery in those complaining of benign nodules and
decreases both mortality and morbidity rates of the disease (2). Although both fine needle aspiration
cytology (FNAC) and ultrasound are considered to be the most important tools in thyroid nodules
evaluation, uncertain diagnosis of the nodule even by experienced hands still remains a problem and
sometimes surgery has to be done for precise diagnosis. The percentage of indeterminate nodules
might be small, however a significant number of patients performed surgery for benign disease (3);
thus there is a need for a new noninvasive presurgical diagnostic test to avoid unnecessary surgery (4).
Routine T1 and T2 weighted MR imaging cannot differentiate benign from malignant nodules or
assess the functional status of thyroid nodules, thus its role in thyroid nodules evaluation is limited (5).

My Own Passion For Working With Young Children
Growing up I have been fortunate enough to have been taught by some truly inspirational teachers and
I am well aware of the effect they have had on my life and the choices I have made subsequently. My
own passion for working with young children extends from wanting to emulate those role models and
have the same impact on other children.
I have always known that I wanted to work with children; from the age of eleven I knew that I wanted
to become a primary school teaching. I am still as committed now as I was then of achieving that goal.
If being passionate, nurturing, focused and determinate is what you require then I am most certainly
suited for this position. I am a hardworking, confident and trustworthy person with a keen desire to
become a primary school teacher. Having spent two full terms independently managing a class, I have
gained excellent first hand experience and an increased confidence in my own abilities. I consider
myself to be a very well organized, reliable and enthusiastic individual who can not only work
extremely well as part of a team but also remain professional under stressful circumstances. From
September 2011 to January 2014 I have worked both voluntarily and paid at many primary and
secondary schools within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. This has given me great experience on
how to support the teaching and learning of children right from Key stage 1 through to key stage 3.
During this time I worked very closely with many class teachers,

important as the ERP. Both are critical software components to Riordan Manufacturing success. After
reviewing the existing hardware and software being utilized, I have concluded that Riordan
Manufacturing must make changes to some hardware, software, and procedures affecting IT to be able
to meet it s current goals and expectation. To be able to do this, Riordan Manufacturing must upgrade
outdated equipment, upgrade unsupported operating systems and applications, and consolidate
databases and increase productivity. Some of the hardware that exists at Albany and Pontiac sites
needs upgrades to increase the productivity of the plants. The Albany site can change its structure to

degradation. Next, replace the hubs, patch panels with switches, and run a 100 base T Ethernet.
Furthermore, both sites need to upgrade to a full T 1 connection to support the data transmission speed

How To Write A Observation Of High School Observation

technology for evil. People don t realize how evil they can be sometimes. The Dragon shows that

POLLUTION
Abstract: Life itself arose from the oceans. The ocean is vast, covering 140 million square miles, some
72 per cent of the earth s surface. Not only has the oceans always been a prime source of nourishment
for the life it helped generate, but from earliest recorded history it has served for trade and commerce,
adventure and discovery. It has kept people apart and brought them together. Humans have always had
a close relationship with the aquatic environment, including the early use of the sea for food

with large amounts of cargo and passengers. This chapter provides a short introduction to ships and
shipping also introduces the environmental impacts related to ship operations. Ship transportation has

From 1865 to 1900, a surge in industry and business began to come into effect. Railroads, oil, steel,

Others would chastise that belief, declaring that it is an unjust conclusion to draw. Despite the
oppositions fervent belief, the undeniable evidence supports the belief that many of the businessmen
in the late 19th century were robber barons . These men had a blatant disregard for human lives and an
unquenchable urge to assume control over citizens lives that instilled corruption and greed in them.
One of the most prominent bodies of proof is the lack of care for the worker s and the public s well
being. A businessman, William H. Vanderbilt, revealed his own morality when asked about his
motives for laying his railroads. A reporter from the Chicago Daily News asked Vanderbilt if he was
motivated by the benefit to the public. To which, Vanderbilt candidly responded, The public be
damned (...) I don t take any stock in this silly nonsense about working for anybody s good but our
own (Doc 1). Vanderbilt inadvertently revealed a significant truth about himself and his fellow
businessmen. Vanderbilt did not care about how his business (railroads) would affect the public. The

Pop art was a direct response to the commercial and consumer society of modern time . Explain why
this might be true.
Pop art was an art formed by artist expressing their views on modern day society. Pop art originally
emerged from England in the fifties; although it was not exploited in England, in fact during the fifties
it wasn t very well implemented. In the sixties, in New York, pop art began to have a high prospective.
Many artists soon realized that pop art could be expressed in a variety of forms, this soon related to its
commercial use. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1961 Roy Lichtenstein made use of the Ben Day dots . This was the first time an artist had used this
device. Lichtenstein exploited this and turned it into a signature for himself on his paintings of cartoon
characters.
Many Pop artists have attempted to and inspired an impersonal approach in to work trying not to
offend any community. Although in many circumstances pop artist did impose their own views in their
work, Pop artist took this opportunity to criticize society.
Quadrant 1982: The piece of art work on the left which Andy Warhol had created criticized the way
society is fixated on money. Warhol was an idealist. He had managed to survive W.W.II., he realized
the important values of life. The Quadrant symbolized how society had always been.
It shows the $ symbol in four different colors. This translated to people as different times but the same
agenda, money.
The Ben Day dots led the way for commercial use of pop art.
Lichtenstein used this to his advantage and exploited it. The Ben Day dots was an efficient use in
advertising. This device allowed unique paintings and large scale posters to be created. The more
striking pop art was created by Roy Lichtenstein. Lichtenstein manipulated the way we see day to day
objects and cartoon drawings.

Fantasia Movie Comparison
Absolute film was a movement created by a group of artists in Germany in the 1920 s (Wikipedia).
Hans Richter, Walter Ruttman, Oskar Fischinger, and Viking Eggeling were the pioneers who created
absolute film, and all of them had artistic backgrounds besides Fischinger. Most cinematic projects
have a story line, and something you follow through, but with absolute film it is quite the opposite.
Absolute film depended solely on the artist s vision and imagination for the film. It was a remarkable
revolution in cinema, that a film could be created simply off a visual spectacle with aid from auditory
music. No story line, no characters, nothing... just random images, colors, shapes flowing on the
screen to music made to evoke imagination. Fantasia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They can make it as simple and just colors flashing across the screen with no music, or as complex as
something as Fantasia. I think it s necessary because without it an expressional type of film wouldn t
exist, but I don t think filmmaking is dependent on absolute film. There were films before absolute
film and films after, but I do think it helped show a more creative side to cinema. It helped aid in
making history in cinema, and provided a different outlook to certain film features. Without absolute
film, so new film techniques might not have been discovered till way later, so I think ultimately it
helped grow the cinema field and knowledge. I am not sure why Walt Disney would put an absolute
film in a children s production. Even though Fantasia wasn t as weird as Mothlight, I feel like children
would have a hard time being interested in a film with no characters, or plot. On the other hand,
children do have short spans of attention, and sometimes can t understand difficult story lines because
of their age, so maybe this film would be interesting to them. I think Walt Disney motivation to put an
absolute film in a children s production was to simply spark

Roanoke Voyage Research Paper
The Roanoke Voyages were England s first attempt at settling in North America. Sir Walter Raleigh
asked for Queen Elizabeth s permission to begin exploration and she agreed to let him organize the
expedition. However, he was not allowed to be physically involved in the actual voyages because she
believed he was a valuable asset to her and did not want him travelling far away. The first expedition,
in 1584, was an exploratory venture. Sir Walter Raleigh arranged for two ships to begin the
exploration. The two captains of the ships were Arthur Barlowe and Philip Amadas. They discovered
fertile land with plenty of game. The area, near the Pamlico and Currituck, would be a great place to
begin settlement. In addition to their own accounts of the journey, they also brought back two native
Americans, named Manteo and Wanchese, to help the English learn more about the land they may
eventually colonize. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Domesticated Animal Abuse
The abuse and mistreatment of domesticated animals such as dogs isn t typically an issue that gets a
lot of media attention and usually goes unnoticed by the public eye. This is due to people being either

people that abuse animals are also more likely to be arrested for battery against another human, how
30 million animals in the U.S. die each year from cruelty, neglect, and exploitation , and that the

The Camp Cross Croutons Essay example
The Camp Cross Croutons The Camp Cross Croutons is the name of the first community I felt I truly
belonged to and that belonged to me. In this paper I will be reflecting on this significant culture I was
part of, and then viewing it as a system, through the lens of new science . I will explore the sometimes
paradoxical notions of emergence, autopoiesis, Maturana s
biology of cognition , structural coupling, chaos and dissipative structures.
Camp Cross, and the Croutons From the time I was three, Camp Cross was a familiar summer

Autopoietic systems are closed structurally, but open to their environment. All parts of the system
work together to create or re create themselves by changing or replacing their components(Capra
2002). Autopoiesis is life s fundamental process for creating and renewing itself, for growth and
change. (Wheatley 2006). While autopoiesis was initially observed and developed at the level of
microbiology, it can apply to any living organism, including people and groups. The paradox of an
autopoietic system is that while it creates itself in order to preserve itself it will also change in
whatever ways are necessary in order to insure further self generation.
(Wheatley 2006).
I see the Croutons as both a group of self generating organisms and as a self
generating organism as a whole. I am quite certain I created aspects of myself through
my interactions with the Croutons. It is not that I didn t exist before the time I spent
there, but I do think there were ways I had not acknowledged or appreciated myself
and that I created a stronger, more present way of being with the new patterns of behavior
I experienced. Additionally, I became less concerned with belonging at school or at
home because of the feeling of belonging my membership in the Croutons gave me.
The organism that was the Croutons started with a dozen of us in 1969.

The Higgs boson Theorised by physicists Francois Elgert...
The Higgs boson or God Particle was theorised 50 years ago by two physicists Francois Elgert and
Peter Higgs. They were awarded with a Nobel Prize for confirming its existence on July 4th, 2012. It
is possible further research will lead to major discoveries in the future of physics . The Higgs boson is
known as the key to understanding why mass exists and how it was originally constructed. It should
be further examined and studied.
The Higgs boson and Higgs field have been explained many different ways in order to provide a better
understanding. The more interaction something has with the field, the more mass it will have and the
simplest way of explaining this is through a metaphor. For example, consider a body of water. The
water will drag on things that move through it, but it will not affect all things in the same way. A
jetski, for instance, would meet little resistance as it moves forward which resembles the way
electrons cooperate with the Higgs field. There is very little interaction and therefore less mass. A
swimmer on the other hand will meet much more resistance while emerged in water. This resembles
the way that W and Z bosons drag through the Higgs field. They have thousands of times more mass
than electrons, protons, and neutrons. Photons do not interact with the scalar field and therefore have
no mass. In this metaphor planes flying over bodies of water represent the photons. The body of water
represents the Higgs field and the water droplets that make up

Ways Of Seeing Analysis
In ways of seeing John Berger invites us to see different works that so many museums present as
sacred relics based on 160 reproductions of paintings and advertising images. This critical
reinterpretation of our cultural heritage aims at getting the reader to question the images that surround
him on a daily basis. In seven essays, John Berger recalled the modalities of ordering paintings of the
Renaissance and thus demonstrates the power of the ruling class. It analyzes the relationship between
these modalities and the development and omnipresence of advertising codes in our contemporary
capitalist society. It encourages the spectator reader to question the images that surround him on a

what we see appears in our field without being nevertheless within reach. It is a touch that places us in
relation to things. (Take a few steps with your eyes closed and you will realize how touching is to see,

Analysis Of The Book Dark Souls
Introduction Dark Souls is an awesome franchise and From Software is an amazing developer. I had a
great time putting this together and reading all your comments. If you have any questions, feel free to
PM me or just engage in the comments. I really like the Dark Souls community and I enjoy
contributing. Summary and Results Earlier this week I posted threads in multiple subreddits linking to
a google forms survey. I received over 4,000 responses, people ranging from 13 to 52 years old. We
are mostly male. The median age is 22 and the average age is 23. The average total hours played is
591. The favorite game is Dark Souls 3, with Dark Souls 1 coming in second, followed by
Bloodborne, then Dark Souls 2 then finally Demon s Souls. The first Dark Souls is the majority of
people s introduction to these games. PCs are the preferred system to play on while Xbox is by far the
least favorite. Your gender had little impact on which was your favorite game. However, women are
5% less likely than men to prefer Xbox, holding all other variables I tested for constant. This might
explain why more women prefer Bloodborne and Demon s Souls than men, as PlayStation players
were much more likely to prefer those two games. Older players preferred Darks Souls 1 and Demon s
Souls while younger players preferred Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. Additionally, younger players
liked PCs while older players preferred a PlayStation. Your preferred gaming system impacted your
preference for games. Xbox

A Brief Note On The Gas Mixture Of Hydrogen And Carbon...
1.2.3 Gasification and Syngas Syngas is a gas mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, which are
products from gasfireing any hydrocarbon material such as coal at a high pressure and temperature, 30
bar and 1500 °K. The present of the oxygen is the primary difference between gasification and
combustion. When a feed gasfire, the oxygen or air is injected in small amount allowing part of the
feed to burn completely which supply the required heat and pressure, then, the heat will break down
the feed into synthesis gas (Higman Burgt, 2003). This process consists of six main reactions: Table 1:

Can cats survive all falls?
Topic: Animals, Science

Description: William Shakespeare referred to the myth A cat has nine lives in his play Romeo and
Juliet, which arguably came from cats ability to always land on their feet. The biped of ancient Egypt
was fascinated by the feline arts of swiftness and tenacity for their remarkable survivals from high
falls. In this short, interesting talk, Leon shares the science behind these amazing skills of cats.
5 years ago, a cat in the US city of Boston survived a fall from a 19 storey window and only bruised
her chest. How do cats survive falls from such great heights? Can they survive all falls?
The answer is obviously ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dead cats don t talk, and they don t go into hospital records.
In recent decades, all of the cat fall statistics come from pet hospitals. Crazy experiments of throwing
cats out of tall buildings don t exist. As a result, these statistics contain inevitable margins of errors all
of the cats sent to pet hospitals were the ones which their owners believed that could be saved, so the
cats that died straight away were not accounted for. Can you imagine an owner asking a vet for
treatment holding a pile of bloody flesh?
In contrary, unless there were life risks, owners tend not to send cats who fell from lower floors to the
hospitals. This explains why cats that fell from lower floors have a higher odds of injury than cats that
fell from higher floors. The 90% survival rate from the studies was not the survival rate of cats that
fell, but of those that were sent to hospitals for treatment.
High survival rates can t explain why cats are good at falling. Cats that die on their way to the
hospital, ones that weren t discovered in time after the fall, and those that could not be saved or died
instantly couldn t affect the 90% survival rate because the statistics didn t include these unlucky

The, A South Korean Film Directed By Joon Ho Bong
While the world is debatably the most prosperous it has ever been; due to the high number of people
who are able to enjoy the many prosperities, most of the population can be viewed as the lower class.
This unfortunate fact stems from the unequal distribution of wealth and furthermore, leads to
complications that extend beyond the financial facet. Snowpiercer, a South Korean movie directed by
Joon ho Bong, demonstrates an exaggerated division of social class within a futuristic world
characterized by a post environmental melt down. This division amongst the passengers of a train,
which carries the only remaining life on Earth, shows the extreme circumstances that can follow a

These living conditions can be paralleled to modern day society. For example, there are those who live
in run down houses within the inner city as well as those living in mansions alongside rivers and lakes.
This distribution of wealth, while sometimes seemingly fair, is fundamentally wrong and aids in
further separating the mentalities of those on opposite sides of the financial spectrum. One key
difference between the tail end and front passengers is the diet that has carried them through eighteen
years on the train. While passengers in the back have been forced to survive off protein bars made
from ground up crickets, the front end passengers have feasted on foods that are thought to be extinct.
In one scene of the movie, Curtis, a strong willed leader who remembers life before the freeze, throws
a gelatin bar to one of the upper class prisoners insisting that she experience one of the many
hardships that he has had to persevere through.
This act of retaliation is meant to give the front cart prisoner the insight to see the difference between
surviving and living. This drastic separation of lifestyle leads to social issues that can polarize nations,
allowing for every man to fend only for himself.
Throughout several scenes of Snowpiercer, it is apparent that white supremacy influences the leaders
decisions and sense of urgency. The issue

Capital Punishment Is The Most Severe Form Of All Sentencing

Capital punishment is the most severe form of all sentencing. It was first introduced in 1700 B.C.
When written under the Code of Hammurabi by the sixth Babylonian king. The laws covered nearly
all subjects but is well known for its law stating, If a man put out the eye of another man, his eye shall
be put out. ( Birth of a, 2012) The death penalty was prescribed for about twenty five crimes under the
code, but murder was not on the list.(Reggio, 1997) Capital punishment has been around for a
considerate amount of time, but continues to this day to be debated upon if it is constitutional to
lawfully murder someone for their mischievous acts. Introduction During the fourteenth century in
England, a person could be executed for a crime as minor as disturbing the peace. As with policing in
America, the death penalty was adopted into the American culture. ( Penal code, 2005) When the first
colonists came to the land now known as the United States, they brought their court and prison system
with them. A colonist in Virginia could be executed for crimes as small as stealing food or trading with
the Indians. It wasn t until the year 1608 that the first execution took place, Captain George Kendall
was hung for the capital offense of treason.( Death penalty information, 2012) Among other serious

Social Insanity In Medieval Europe
Insanity in medieval Europe can be classified according to social and religious violations. Insane was
one of the worst labels a man could get during the time of knights. By being labeled a madman, a
respected man could become lower than trash. Whether labeled insane due to strangeness or for
religious beliefs that differed from the norm, the fact remains that these individuals were all outcasts
from society.
Social Insanity
Definition
Insanity, in medieval Europe in the context of social violations, is the condition in which a man or
woman acts in a manner deemed outrageous or illogical by the common man. By being labeled insane,
a person would be lowered to the equivalent status level of an unreliable drunk. Thus businesses could
be crushed and lives ruined if your actions were considered as too strange by the public.
Treatment
The so called cure of the time for social insanity was isolation, a process by which the potential lunatic
is locked up on their own until the patient either shows improvement or dies. When it came to curing
the patient, isolation sometimes worked, but it depended on the degree of infliction. In some cases, a
patient who wasn t actually insane was driven insane by the solitude instead of being cured by it.

  • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Professional Training GENERAL CONCLUSION: This research which aimed at understanding if financial authority trainers are professionally and intellectually well equipped to instruct and assess adult learners has enabled us to attain some important achievements that we organized into two main groups: positive and negative. Such an appraisal was made possible by comparing financial authority trainers habits and actions with the principles of andragogy as described in Malcom Knowles works. Thus, we were positively impressed by their awareness of the fact that adult learners engaged in professional training should not be given a mark for fear to hinder his self esteem. Moreover, most of them knew that adults learning and assessment should rather be task based. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. The Fall, By Albert Camus The Fall, written by Albert Camus, is a book full of many philosophical conversations and topics to ponder. One thing that makes it so interesting is that it is written in second person, so Clamence is addressing the reader as a character. The basic plot of The Fall is that the reader follows Clamence around Amsterdam as they converse about life (more specifically, his life), and in doing so the reader learns that he has been trying to find a way to live without judgement. In the end, he decides slavery is the best answer, because if one simply skips the court and goes straight to jail, he does not face judgement at all. This view can already tell you that although he is an intelligent man, he has many strange and not so useful philosophies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The painting in question is a part of a larger piece called The Ghent Altarpiece, located in St. Bavo s Cathedral. In the very beginning of the book, when the reader and Clamence are in the bar, Clamence points out the blank space on the wall where a painting once was. He says that he was there when the bartender put it up, as well as when he took it down. However, in the last chapter he reveals that the reason it was taken down was because he recognized it as the stolen painting, and upon telling the bartender he took it down out of fear of being arrested. Clamence took it home, and it had remained in his closet since then. This, along with the other acts of hypocrisy and pompousness, show that in this story, Jean Baptiste is a ... • 9. Computer And Smartphone Addiction ( S ) Are Becoming More... Computer and smartphone addiction(s) are becoming more and more prevalent every year. From a 1 year old children to grown adult men and women. At first glance, these electronics look harmless. But, if used in excess, someone can easily become addicted and not even know it. Smartphones have social media apps such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter; that s only naming a few. Many people around the world habitually use and check on these apps, on an hourly to an everyday basis. Continuously checking these apps will ultimately lead to addiction if not recognized and controlled. Computers have the same effect along with help from the internet; video games, Netflix, Youtube, can all entertain someone for a few hours. That time can easily be doubled, tripled and/or quadrupled, because of how entertained or bored someone can be. Society needs to start realizing how much time they are spending on their smartphones and computers. There has to be some sort of equilibrium to establish, in order to not cause addiction or obsessive behavior. Smartphones and computers are going to keep growing and expanding for decades. Technology impacts most of us in our life; we are surrounded and engulfed by it. Our lives have been made easier and a little more fun by the help of technology. For example, computers and smartphones. But, these technologies could actually be quite harmful. Can people really become addicted to these technologies? • 10. Disadvantages Of Narcissism As they were in middle class, which was higher class than what my siblings and I were at, I wondered if this would apply to them. With my experience, I believe it would since they were of higher class than us and those narcissists would be boastful about accomplishments and possessions. Here, some readers may be saying that social class does not necessarily cause one to be narcissistic. I am not saying that not all those of higher class are narcissists, but rather that it can put them for a higher risk of becoming narcissistic. Other factors, such as social media and parenting, could also contribute to one becoming narcissistic. Going along with the factor of parenting, the question of how that family would behave with each other had come up. I have already seen how they could treat others outside of their family, whether it be to put on a different face before their true colors leek out after getting to know them. From what I have seen and heard, they tend to have a golden child and a sort of scapegoat. In the article, The Strength of the Scapegoat in the Narcissist Family, Julie Hall, a contributing writer for the Huffington Post, describes a scapegoat as ...the narcissist s go to projection screen for his abusive behavior and his trash receptacle for blame and rage (2017, para. 3). The context being this is Julie s experience growing up with a narcissistic father and how she was able to prevail later on. In this case, the scapegoat of the family seemed to be one of the ... The grounds for this are found in section 131 (1) of the Mental health Act 1983 nothing in the act shall be construed as preventing a patient who requires treatment for mental disorder from being admitted to any hospital regardless of whether the correct procedure has been followed (i.e. recommendations from ASW). The definition of mental disorder is laid out in section 1 of the act. The legal position of a formally confined patient is much easier to define as their confinement is by definition formal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Persons held under section 136 can only be detained for 72 hours, this is to enable them to be examined by a registered medical professional and an ASW. Arrangements can then be made for the patients care or treatment. Mental capacity is another important difference between formal and informal patients with regards to consenting to treatment. Providing the patient is mentally competent, they are in a much stronger position to refuse treatment as an informal patient. Again, however, it has been observed that patients feel coerced into consenting to treatment. Until the MCA[10] came into force this year there was very little procedural protection afforded to those patients admitted informally and found to be mentally incompetent. Treatment could be forced upon patients in this situation on the basis of the doctors view of the patients best interests[11]. Within the category of informally admitted patients we see different issues arising with regards specific groups. Women, for example, and more specifically white women, represent one and a half times more admissions then men[12] a considerably higher proportion of patients then their percentage of society. Some may argue that this is due to the enduring misogyny of society, seeing women acquiesce to informal admission, rather then being the active party in the decision that hospitalisation is indeed their best option. Others would view this percentage difference as a result of the fact that women ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Good examples of etiological causes of death incudes poor diets and inactivity. An epidemiological scientific study of racism classified racism as being an etiological factor for diseases and injuries. Since then, many others researches have been focused on its measurement and how racism plays a major role in health disparities. Despite the lack of agreement on the definition of racism, we cannot deny that racism is a factor that has affected the quality of life of certain groups of people throughout the history. • 17. Symptoms And Treatment Of A Thyroid Nodule Essay Introduction A thyroid nodule is a discrete lesion within the thyroid gland that is distinguishable from the adjacent parenchyma. Sonographic examination of enlarged nodular thyroids, demonstrated that 66% had multiple nodules, whereas 34% had single nodules. Among these single nodules, 85% 90% were proved to be benign. Adenomatous nodules represent most of benign thyroid nodules (80%), whereas the remaining benign nodules consisted of adenoma, cyst, and focal thyroiditis (1). The differentiation of single benign nodule and malignant one is considered an important goal. Early diagnosis of thyroid cancer avoids unneeded surgery in those complaining of benign nodules and decreases both mortality and morbidity rates of the disease (2). Although both fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and ultrasound are considered to be the most important tools in thyroid nodules evaluation, uncertain diagnosis of the nodule even by experienced hands still remains a problem and sometimes surgery has to be done for precise diagnosis. The percentage of indeterminate nodules might be small, however a significant number of patients performed surgery for benign disease (3); thus there is a need for a new noninvasive presurgical diagnostic test to avoid unnecessary surgery (4). Routine T1 and T2 weighted MR imaging cannot differentiate benign from malignant nodules or assess the functional status of thyroid nodules, thus its role in thyroid nodules evaluation is limited (5). All parts of the system work together to create or re create themselves by changing or replacing their components(Capra 2002). Autopoiesis is life s fundamental process for creating and renewing itself, for growth and change. (Wheatley 2006). While autopoiesis was initially observed and developed at the level of microbiology, it can apply to any living organism, including people and groups. The paradox of an autopoietic system is that while it creates itself in order to preserve itself it will also change in whatever ways are necessary in order to insure further self generation. (Wheatley 2006). I see the Croutons as both a group of self generating organisms and as a self generating organism as a whole. I am quite certain I created aspects of myself through my interactions with the Croutons. They were awarded with a Nobel Prize for confirming its existence on July 4th, 2012. It is possible further research will lead to major discoveries in the future of physics . The Higgs boson is known as the key to understanding why mass exists and how it was originally constructed. It should be further examined and studied. The Higgs boson and Higgs field have been explained many different ways in order to provide a better understanding. The more interaction something has with the field, the more mass it will have and the simplest way of explaining this is through a metaphor. For example, consider a body of water. The water will drag on things that move through it, but it will not affect all things in the same way. A jetski, for instance, would meet little resistance as it moves forward which resembles the way electrons cooperate with the Higgs field. There is very little interaction and therefore less mass. A swimmer on the other hand will meet much more resistance while emerged in water. This resembles the way that W and Z bosons drag through the Higgs field. They have thousands of times more mass than electrons, protons, and neutrons. Photons do not interact with the scalar field and therefore have no mass. In this metaphor planes flying over bodies of water represent the photons. The body of water represents the Higgs field and the water droplets that make up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In seven essays, John Berger recalled the modalities of ordering paintings of the Renaissance and thus demonstrates the power of the ruling class. It analyzes the relationship between these modalities and the development and omnipresence of advertising codes in our contemporary capitalist society. It encourages the spectator reader to question the images that surround him on a daily basis. By showing us how to see different pictures ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (It can not be considered as if it were isolated in this small part of the process which concerns the retina of the eye.) One sees only what one looks at. To look is to choose. And it is by this choice that what we see appears in our field without being nevertheless within reach. It is a touch that places us in relation to things. (Take a few steps with your eyes closed and you will realize how touching is to see, although in a less mobile and less extensive way.) It is never on a single object that our gaze is focused but on The relationship between us and things. Vision is an incessant activity, sweeping the world around us in a circle that defines our microcosm. Despite a background of social criticism far removed from our time, Ways of Seeing sees some interesting ways to study what is common in images, which unites and dismisses painting and cinema, advertising and graphics, old and new media. The enterprise of John Berger is a form of desecration of our relationship to images: if we can reveal the beauty of a form in a noble art (painting, cinema) as in a communication image (advertising, The television stream) then the hierarchy between legitimate and non legitimate art is ... • 36. Analysis Of The Book Dark Souls Introduction Dark Souls is an awesome franchise and From Software is an amazing developer. I had a great time putting this together and reading all your comments. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or just engage in the comments. I really like the Dark Souls community and I enjoy contributing. Summary and Results Earlier this week I posted threads in multiple subreddits linking to a google forms survey. I received over 4,000 responses, people ranging from 13 to 52 years old. We are mostly male. The median age is 22 and the average age is 23. The average total hours played is 591. The favorite game is Dark Souls 3, with Dark Souls 1 coming in second, followed by Bloodborne, then Dark Souls 2 then finally Demon s Souls. The first Dark Souls is the majority of people s introduction to these games. PCs are the preferred system to play on while Xbox is by far the least favorite. Your gender had little impact on which was your favorite game. However, women are 5% less likely than men to prefer Xbox, holding all other variables I tested for constant. This might explain why more women prefer Bloodborne and Demon s Souls than men, as PlayStation players were much more likely to prefer those two games. Older players preferred Darks Souls 1 and Demon s Souls while younger players preferred Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3. Additionally, younger players liked PCs while older players preferred a PlayStation. Your preferred gaming system impacted your preference for games. Xbox ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. A Brief Note On The Gas Mixture Of Hydrogen And Carbon... 1.2.3 Gasification and Syngas Syngas is a gas mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide, which are products from gasfireing any hydrocarbon material such as coal at a high pressure and temperature, 30 bar and 1500 °K. The present of the oxygen is the primary difference between gasification and combustion. When a feed gasfire, the oxygen or air is injected in small amount allowing part of the feed to burn completely which supply the required heat and pressure, then, the heat will break down the feed into synthesis gas (Higman Burgt, 2003). This process consists of six main reactions: Table 1: Gasification main reactions Reaction Process Chemical Formula Change in Enthalpy Gasification with Oxygen C + ½ O2 → CO 3,922 Btu/lb C Combustion with Oxygen C + O2 → CO2 14,111 Btu/lb C Gasification with Carbon Dioxide C + CO2 → 2 CO 6,267 Btu/lb C Gasification with Steam C + H2O → CO + H2 4,750 Btu/lb C Gasification with Hydrogen C + 2 H2 → CH4 2,672 Btu/lb C Water Gas Shift CO + H2O → CO2 + H2 650 Btu/lb CO There are four basic configurations for the gasification. These configurations describe the way oxygen introduced to hydrocarbon feed since it will produce different characteristics for each one of them (Breault, 2015). The following is an explanation for each configuration: Table 2: The four basics configurations for the gasification Bed Type Hydro Dynamically Moving Bed Gas flow through a porous medium where the solids move down while gas moves up a counter current ... This explains why cats that fell from lower floors have a higher odds of injury than cats that fell from higher floors. The 90% survival rate from the studies was not the survival rate of cats that fell, but of those that were sent to hospitals for treatment. The, A South Korean Film Directed By Joon Ho Bong While the world is debatably the most prosperous it has ever been; due to the high number of people who are able to enjoy the many prosperities, most of the population can be viewed as the lower class. This unfortunate fact stems from the unequal distribution of wealth and furthermore, leads to complications that extend beyond the financial facet. Snowpiercer, a South Korean movie directed by Joon ho Bong, demonstrates an exaggerated division of social class within a futuristic world characterized by a post environmental melt down. For example, there are those who live in run down houses within the inner city as well as those living in mansions alongside rivers and lakes. This distribution of wealth, while sometimes seemingly fair, is fundamentally wrong and aids in further separating the mentalities of those on opposite sides of the financial spectrum. One key difference between the tail end and front passengers is the diet that has carried them through eighteen years on the train. While passengers in the back have been forced to survive off protein bars made from ground up crickets, the front end passengers have feasted on foods that are thought to be extinct. In one scene of the movie, Curtis, a strong willed leader who remembers life before the freeze, throws a gelatin bar to one of the upper class prisoners insisting that she experience one of the many hardships that he has had to persevere through. This act of retaliation is meant to give the front cart prisoner the insight to see the difference between surviving and living. This drastic separation of lifestyle leads to social issues that can polarize nations, allowing for every man to fend only for himself. • 43. Social Insanity In Medieval Europe Insanity in medieval Europe can be classified according to social and religious violations. Insane was one of the worst labels a man could get during the time of knights. By being labeled a madman, a respected man could become lower than trash. Whether labeled insane due to strangeness or for religious beliefs that differed from the norm, the fact remains that these individuals were all outcasts from society. Social Insanity Definition Insanity, in medieval Europe in the context of social violations, is the condition in which a man or woman acts in a manner deemed outrageous or illogical by the common man. By being labeled insane, a person would be lowered to the equivalent status level of an unreliable drunk. Thus businesses could be crushed and lives ruined if your actions were considered as too strange by the public. Treatment The so called cure of the time for social insanity was isolation, a process by which the potential lunatic is locked up on their own until the patient either shows improvement or dies. When it came to curing the patient, isolation sometimes worked, but it depended on the degree of infliction. In some cases, a patient who wasn t actually insane was driven insane by the solitude instead of being cured by it. Legally, the patient s land would typically be given to ...
