Biblical Doctrine

Bible Doctrine Mid Term Fall 2016
Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
The Trinity is an area of the Christian faith where Christians and non Christians alike
struggle to explain the Godhead in a way that is biblical and understandable. In this paper I will
discuss the doctrine of the Trinity as a foundation of Christian living. I will also discuss the
Nicene Creed and its historical importance in the acceptance of the full divinity of Jesus Christ. I
will write about the belief system of Unitarianism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following the Nicene Council, the debate continued, including
discussions about the Holy Spirit. Eventually, Theodosius (the new Roman emperor), called a
second council, which was held in Constantinople. The council affirmed the view of the earlier
Nicene Council that Jesus is fully divine, eternal, not created. Moreover, the council accepted the
full divinity of the Holy Spirit, teaching that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy
Spirit is God, yet there is only one God. The Nicene Creed (as translated by the International
Consultation on English Texts, 1975) reads as follows:
We believe in our God the Father, the Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and of all that is, seen
and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God
from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made of one being with the
Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down
from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit he become incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was
made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is
seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no

The Raft of the Medusa by Theodore Gericault
The Raft of the Medusa by Theodore Gericault is considered by many to be one of the greatest
paintings of Romantic Art. Here I will discuss Romantic Art, some history behind the painting, the
painting in general, and to prove why the first statement is true. If we are going to call this painting
Romantic Art one must first know what it actually is or have some sort of idea what is counted as
Romanticismor as something that Romantics would do. Romanticism celebrates the spontaneity
and the use of the imagination. Abandoning tradition constraints of the art world to explore new
and creative ways of expression. Possibly seen as intuitive individualism and primacy of feeling.
Romantics didn t reject reason but though emotions were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He interviewed the survivors, drew mutilated corpses in the Paris morgue, and had a model
created in his studio of the raft. The painting was 16 feet 1 inch by 23 feet 6 inches so it is huge
in size and the dramatic impact was just as amazing. This gave the people a record of an event
that happened in a time before photography. At first glance a viewer might just see people
huddled on a raft together, a couple waving down a ship, and trying to get someone off canvases
attention while others try to keep those who are weaker on the raft. But if they look closer they
might notice other things of interest that are commonly found in Romanticism or Romantic Art.
Gericault use of the double triangles in this image of the mast and rope help keep the main
focus on the people on the raft who are dying or dead. Suffering against heat, dehydration,
starvation, and forced to canalize each other to survive which is a true struggle against nature but
also against ones self. It would be a very horrific and emotional experience for anyone to have to
choose between eating another human being or dying of starvation. He focuses on the true
emotion, the disgusting horror of the event, and what had to be done or was done to survive. It
has very rustic looking colors in the image, reds, oranges, yellows, browns, blacks, and grays that
give it an autumn like color theme. This gives you a sense that they

Importance Of Reflection In Writing
I have made a phenomenal amount of progress this semester. English 101 has made me a better
writer and editor. Because the modules and peer editing reviews it was easy to correct and learn
from my mistakes. As a writer, I think I can still make an amount of improvement. With it being
from mechanic errors and to clear organization skills. As for providing clear and relevant
examples I have made improvements. I say I m an average, but growing writer. I have my skills
and weakness, but I still try harder. When I first came to English 101 I thought I had it down
packed. In high school, I took AP Lit, a advanced placement English class. AP Lit offered a college
level course, teaching us high school students college curricular. But when I received my first
assignment, I hesitated, not knowing what to write. Then modules were introduced, making it
better to reflect on. Constantly I relied on modules and notes, which helped me improve in my
writing, in result giving me better feedback. As I progress along the semester, my final paper
grades have improved. From starting on my political analysis project to finishing my argumentative
essay. My political analysis paper ended with a 70%. The 70% is from the lack of transition and
the lack of specific audiences. Also analyzing my information and relating back to my thesis. My
last assignment, my argumentative essay ended with a 90%. In my argumentative essay I had a
acceptable analysis and did great relating back to the

The Prologue And Part One Of The Book Nietzsche
Whether the happening be good or bad, humans tend to rationalize the circumstance and make it
an event that served a greater purpose. In Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche,
Zarathustra describes this behavior, along with many others, as life denying as he was mainly
concerned with ethics. The prologue tells the story of how Zarathustra went up a mountain and
spent ten years there gaining wisdom; he then descends to share his wisdom but the people
laugh at him and he comes to realize that they did not and would not take him seriously because
they were too far gone with old beliefs. He also came to the conclusion that he did not want
people who conform and do not think for themselves, or followers, but rather people who desire
to go in the same direction he is going. Throughout the prologue and part one of the book
Nietzsche is trying to teach those who can think for themselves about how to live well and without
excuses. The prologue mainly consists of Zarathustra descending from the mountain back into the
town and realizing that no one takes him seriously. Zarathustra is discouraged at first but then
realizes that he was not targeting the right audience and begins again. He starts off by establishing
an overman, who is someone who can affirm and embrace life completely without any excuses.
Consecutively he establishes a last man, who is said to be someone who has no questions, no
chaos, no creativity, and seeks comfort and security. His view of man is a cross

Mrs. Hall Vs. Anne Shirley
In the excerpt, Anne of the Green Gables , by Lucy Maud Montgomery, Marilla ordered Anne
Shirley to run through the woods to ask Mrs. Barry if she could lend her Diana s apron, but
Shirley told her that she did not want to visit the forest at night. With the power of Shirley s
imagination, she explained to Marilla that she was convinced that the forest was haunted and
lurking with several ghosts. In another excerpt, The Invisible Man , by H.G. Walls, Mrs. Hall, an
innkeeper, allowed a mysterious man who was heavily clothed into her inn. She felt major
sympathy for the man and took care of him with the best of her ability. Both Mrs. Hall and Anne

Watching TV Does More Harmful Things to People than Good...
Watching TV is an experience that most people do for almost all the time. Some people believe
that watching TV does more good things to people than harmful things, but other people say
that it does more harmful things to people than good things. The people who say that TV does
more harmful things than good things are doctors who know about things that are good and bad
in people s health and the people who say that TV is good for you are the people who watch a lot
of TV. Since doctors can help cure people and know what is good for people, this would mean
that the doctors are correct about TV harming people than the people who watch a lot of TV
who believe that TV can do good things to other people. Watching TV does more harmful things
to people than good things because it can cause them people to imitate bad behavior on TV, it
can cause people to have health problems, and that it can people s time away from doing
activities that help them become successful in their life. People who watch a lot of tv think that
they are not harmed by the TV but this however is not true. Doctors who know what s good for
people say that watching TV can cause a lot of harm to people since it can cause people to have
behavior problems and can cause them to not feel well from their health. One way that TV can do
more harmful things than good things is that it can cause people who watch a lot of TV to imitate
bad behavior on TV. According to KidsHealth.org, it said that TV

Summary Of Uwm s Dance Program
I attended UWM s dance program from 2004 2008 where I made friends with Megan Zintek (to
me, she ll always be just Megs). When my daughter was 2 years old, I was looking for dance
classes to put her in and discovered Megs had opened her own dance studio, Bella Via in
Mequon. Thankfully my daughter inherited my dancer gene and still enjoys taking classes there.
I m so thrilled that a UWM graduate is using her arts degree and started a business that she is
passionate about. I m very proud of Megs. The target market for Bella Via DanceStudio is children
age 2 through 18 years old. The studio does offer Bella Barre for adults balletbarre workout that
combines yoga and pilates. Megs also rents out the studio once a week to a fitness instructor to
teach an adult boot camp . The adult classes are overshadowed by the array of youth dance
classes Baby Bella pre ballet and creative movement (2 3 year olds), Twinkle Tots pre ballet
/ creative movement/ tap (4 5 year olds), and Ballet/ Jazz/ Tap classes for 6 year olds and another
for 7 year olds. Beginning at age 8, the styles of dance are broken up into their own classes and at
different skill levels. However, in order to enroll in the fun classes, students most also continue in
ballet because it is the foundation of dance. This means students... Show more content on

The Overpricing Of College In Today s Society
In today s society, college is shown to be a necessity for the majority of the population. College
has become a priority in children s lives once they enter middle school. Many get to the point that
college is no longer a dream, just another part of their everyday duty. As you get to the point of
attending to college, one has so much to worry about. For example, Destination, room assignment,
global standardized testing, and so much more. However, the real issue that majority
undergraduates face is the overpricing of college, along with the other essentials that accompany
the expense of attending college. Being unable to afford college can become a problem within
itself, resulting in failing different classes, leading to personal issues motivating

Sweeney Todd Analysis
Sweeney Todd 2005 Review Sweeney Todd is composed by the spectacular Stephen Sondheim,
and this production was directed by John Doyle in 2005. This Musical is about a barber
Benjamin Barker/Sweeney Todd who s sent away by Judge Turpin because he wanted Todd s
wife. Todd is told by his friend Mrs. Lovett that his wife died and his daughter Johanna is being
kept by Turpin who is planning to marry her. Todd vows that he will take revenge on The Judge.
As Sweeney awaits his revenge, he works as a barber and kills his clients while Mrs. Lovett runs a
meat pie shop and uses the people Todd kills for the pies. I will be discussing the performances
and the way the pieces are written. Therefore, I will not be able to talk about each track.

Lovett has just told Todd what had happened to his wife and daughter, and Todd is incredibly
angry and ready to kill the judge. After, Mrs. Lovett gives a case of Todd s old razors to him and
says you could be a Barber again . The song starts with a repetitive, hypnotic motion in the piano.
Also vocally this is awfully rigid and has a whispery quality to it. Todd goes into a trance like
state and the only entity he can focus on is the razors. As the song goes on Mrs. Lovett chimes
in with telling Todd how she fancies him, but Todd remains fully invested in his razors almost as
if they were another human being. The number closes with Todd in immense triumph as he
states at last my right arm is complete again . The performances in this number are okay,
Michael Cerveris has a fine grasp of this character. The joy is heard in his voice towards the
conclusion of the song when he s talking about what he will achieve with the razors. Yet
throughout the song he s incredibly staccato on his sections where he should be legato, it s fairly
distracting. While Patti LuPone has an odd way of shaping her vowels, this makes it difficult to
hear her text. Also the speed in the section where Todd and Lovett are singing together is too
slow. It s a point in immense joy for both of them and the music should be faster because of that.
Overall the track isn t the best version of My Friends out there, however it s still enjoyable to hear

The Call Of Cthulhu Or A Portent Of Nuclear Destruction
The Call of Cthulhu or a Portent of Nuclear Destruction Howard Phillip Lovecraft died in 1937
nearly a decade before the advent of the atomic bomb and the start of the nuclear age which
brought a new sense of fear and paranoia that lasts to this day. Is it possible that within his works of
science fiction and horror he, without knowing or realizing it, foresaw the coming of this new
terror before it entered the minds of man? Could the titular creature in The Call of Cthulhu be a
monstrous personification of nuclear destruction? Is it, that in trying to capture man s fear of the
unknown, he actually touched on a fear that man now knows today? Though Lovecraft wrote the
story as fiction that he states clearly and often that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrator comments about a small sculpture of the creature Cthulhu as of a form which only
a diseased fancy could conceive (Lovecraft 74) It took the brightest minds in America (and
Europe) to come up with the Atomic bomb, and though many of them were working for the
sheer science of splitting an atom, some were in it to create a weapon to use against the enemies
of America and her allies. A nuclear explosion, much like Cthulhu himself is, with one sight of

single malignant purpose of destruction. Upon seeing the destructions of the first nuclear
detonation in 1945, Robert Oppenheimer quoted the Hindu Scripture Bhagvad Gita when he said,
Now I am become death, destroyer of worlds. This is an often misunderstood quoting, as he was

were on the opposing side. The meaning of the quote is fairly simple,

The Legality of Marijuana
As members of a sophisticated and modern society, to participate in the day to day social life
there are a few things we must act in accordance with. We must follow the natural laws that the
societies have placed in order, and must establish guidelines by understanding their moral and
ethical obligations. They are the foundations of our day to day life. Whether we choose to obey or
disobey the norms and regulations of our social environment is determined by the way we appeal to
their distinct morals and ethics.
There are many ethical situations in our society on which various people have various different
opinions. The legality of marijuana is one such situation in the society regarding the morals and

They require accurate measurements of utility. Utilitarianism has to make very strong claims on
what is right and wrong on a very vague concept such as happiness. Utilitarianism may find more
use when determining how a military may provide relief aid to an allied country or determine how
much funding an organization may allocate to any given entity. When the utility is something more
concrete than mental and the idea of benefit is more relative. Utilitarianism would not work in a
situation where a hospital must choose between a child and a celebrity both on the waiting list for a
lifesaving organ transplant.
The two very different philosophical views react differently to the subject of marijuana
legalization. Utilitarianism, for instance, would almost certainly legalize marijuana. This is a
simple answer, because the way that Utilitarianism is laid out, the end goal is the greatest
aggregate happiness. In an ideal Utilitarian world, there would be no laws, limits, or codes, save
that everyone should be as happy as they can be. This may seem too good to be true, as though it
would go to far and society would not be able to recover, but that is not the case. Things that are
pleasurable in moderation are not always so in excess. Some person with Mill s philosophy would
only use marijuana if it brought them the greatest happiness possible. It stands to reason, and

The Solar Of Solar Energy
Luke Schwartz Environmental ethics Final Paper Photovoltaic Panels Have you ever been to a
house or business that uses Solar? Solar power is a great way to save money as well as conserve
energy. Solar panels convert sunlight into usable energy for housing, businesses, sections of
properties, and even stuff like pool equipment. I want to discuss out the three important points
about photovoltaic panels starting with the history of solar panels to understanding panels and
how they are built, and finally the environmental aspects of photovoltaic panels. For those who
don t know, solar energy is radiant energy produced by the sun and can be captured through semi
conductors to use the energy. Solar energy is used in many parts of the world and has become
very poplar today. The history of solar energy goes back to the 1769 s when a Swiss scientist
named Horace Benedict de Saussure created the first solar collector which was an insulated box
covered with three layers of glass to absorb heat energy. Saussure s box became widely know as
the first solar oven, reaching temperatures of 230 degrees fahrenheit. (7). This complex system of
collecting sunlight to create power for all sorts of things became extremely popular and the
industry started to boom. An article from solar energy history states that, In 1947 following the
second World War, solar power equipment started being popular among many people in the USA.
There was a huge demand of solar equipment. (7). After this boom

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Prokaryotes
All living organisms on Earth are classified within three domains Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya.
Bacteria and Archaea encompass a generalised classification known as the prokaryotes. This
definition follows the extensive similarities between the two domains, such as their manner of gene
expression, their fundamental metabolic pathways, as well as their lack of membrane bound
organelles, and compartmentalisation. Due to the cellular compartmentalisation that eukaryotes
exhibit, as well as more complex modes of metabolism and replication, prokaryotes are generally
considered to be the precursors to eukaryotic cells. One of the other defining characteristics of
eukaryotic cells that allow for multicellularity to occur is the presence of a complex... Show more

It is therefore suggested that MreB and actin originated from a common ancestor, as so, further
suggests that actin was a result of MreB divergence in eukaryotes. Bacterial MreB functions in
maintaining the shape of the bacterial cell, whereby MreB assembles into filaments which display
an extensive structural resemblance to actin. The divergence of MreB in eukaryotic cells is seen to
be similar to the divergence of FtsZ to tubulin, where MreB acquired new functions as eukaryotes
evolved. These new functions included the ability to perform cell division specific to eukaryotic
cells, cell movement through pseudopodia, and phagocytosis. Phagocytosis is postulated to have
been a central step in the success of eukaryotic evolution, as the ability to engulf other organisms
such as bacteria and archaea led to eukaryotes becoming predators. The ability to perform
predation contributed heavily to the survival of the eukaryotic line, as it reduced competition.
Phagocytosis also allowed for the engulfment of cyanobacteria and other bacteria which
contributed to endosymbiosis, further increasing the complexity of eukaryotic cells. In order to
perform phagocytosis, eukaryotic cells would have had to remove their inflexible cell wall, a
remnant of their prokaryotic ancestors. The remaining plasma membrane would have allowed for
increased flexibility and the ability to project towards the prey,

The Waterfront By Terry Malloy
Terry Malloy is a dock worker for the union and in this story, this is the first main point of why
he is being controlled by the MOB. In one scene, where Terry is in the office, Terry is being
treated as a child towards Johnny and it makes him feel overwhelmed. Also, out on the docks,
his bosses treats Terry poorly because they are rude to him and it make him work very hard to
earn his pay. For an example, pigeons, on the other hand, is a symbol that represents the life that
Terry wants because he wishes he was free from the union, to be like a pigeon, and the reason is
that he says, they got it made, they eat all they want, fly around like crazy, sleep side by side, and
raise gobs of squads (On the Waterfront). Another thing about pigeons, is that they are beautiful
creatures that can be seen from power lines and in large fields too. The last part about being
controlled by the MOB is because there is a good side about it because this is when Terry is

whether a tested game is really violent or not and also uncontrollable variables such as if the

The Inside Job
ADMAP REVIEW OF THE MOVIE INSIDE JOB Rohan Rambhia | PGP 10 155 Inside Job is an
exemplary recount of how administrator s role when exploited to form risky administrative
strategies by means of faulty processes lead to a crisis of the stature of the recession of 2008. It is a
comprehensive documentary which narrates the history of the collapse, not only going into great,
informative depth about the risk based strategies that put the global economy on the line, but looks
back to the rise of the financial industry. The biggest question which the documentary arouses is
that knowing what happened, why are the miscreants not being punished? As the director, Charles

Leucorrhoea Research Paper
Leucorrhoea
What is Leucorrhoea?
Leucorrhoea is a common condition associated with vaginal discharge. This condition is commonly
experienced by women of almost all age groups. The main cause behind this problem is the fact
that the female genitals are extremely prone to infections as they are moist and remain covered at
most times. Apart from it, women usually sweat quite a lot in that area, which also increases the
risk of infections and inflammation.
What causes Leucorrhoea?
There are many causes of white vaginal discharge. Some of the most common of them include:
Infections from bacteria, fungi or other parasites, especially urinary tract infections.

How The Church Has Been Neglected By The Community Essay
Within the African American community, Christianity has manifest itself to be one of the
cornerstones of the community. Surprisingly enough however, the church was introduced to
African Americans as a means of trying to control the thoughts and actions of the slaves. When
analyzing the church in its modern state, it would be hard to come to this realization. Since its
humble beginnings, many African Americans have come to adopt the Christian faith as their own.
Even as slaves, African Americans began starting their own churches to allow them to worship how
they wanted. Churches such as Greater Mount Pleasant Missionary BaptistChurch (GMPMBC)
(which has been a part of the local community since 1939) are prime examples of how the church
has grown to become an integral part of the African American community. This paper will analyze
the history of GMPMBC and discuss how it is overlooked in mainstream society. From there, it will
transition in to discussing how the church has been neglected by the community it serves.

Race Reflection
Throughout my life, I believed that everyone is equal. Since America is known as the perfect
nation of freedom, growing up I thought that every person gets a fair chance to pursue whatever
he/she would like. It was not until the Trayvon Martin travesty that I had an epiphany; we, as
African American, are not equal to other citizens of this nation. No, it was much more beyond
that; black people were considered subpar to the superior white citizens of our so called perfect
country. Once I found this out, I researched more information because the situation we are currently
in is one we must know more about if we want to move forward. Joining the Black Lives Matter
group through social media truly educated me more about the race problem our nation is in. The
police brutality, the constant way the media portrays black people, redlining and gentrification,
etcetera, was an eyeopening experience for me. However, my true shock was watching a
documentary on Netflix, titled The 13th. It was a documentary explaining mass incarceration
within the United Statesand A.L.E.C. becoming exposed for their ways. Before that documentary, I
was aware of the mass incarceration dilemma, but I never fully grasped the severity of the situation.
It was at that moment after watching the documentary, The 13th, the weight of this issue sank in,
allowing me to understand the role our own government played in this and became my introduction
on mass incarceration and its hold on the black

My client Kelsey has come back to counseling after twenty years. She briefly caught me up on
her life since the last time I saw her. Kelsey and Jin ended up adopting twin girls who they love
dearly. Kelsey decided to quit her job and become a full time stay at home mother, while Jin
continued to work. She is coming to counseling because Jin decided he was leaving the family.
She knows there is no possibility of working things out because he is dating his twenty six year
old assistant. At the same time Jin left her, her twins were moving away for college. Kelsey is
now going through a divorce and empty nest syndrome. Kelsey needs guidance in finding her new

Dear Manger:
I am pleased to present the report you authorized on February 15, 2016, regarding the feasibility of
potential Chick fil a options for the upcoming CAT drivers party.
An analysis of both spicy chicken sandwich and grill chicken sandwich Mansion found that,
although both alternatives offered delicious options, spicy chicken sandwich better met our chosen
criteria in cost, choices, and delivery time. It is, therefore, the recommendation that we utilize spicy
chicken sandwich for our upcoming drivers Chick fil a party.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to research potential party choices. I appreciate your
consideration of my recommendation. Should you have any questions regarding this report, please

The Meaning Of Longevity
Longevity by definition means a long duration of an individuals life or the length of ones life.
Longevity can also mean thinking about means of extending and prolonging a human life as well
as living it healthy. Everyone wants to live a long and happy life. As we all grow older we try to
find methods that will prolong our lives we tend to look into changing our life style, changing our
diet, exercise that will extend our lives, and supplements and herbal remedies.
Longevity has been thought about and sought after for centuries. It has been in the storytelling
community for as long as we have recorded and documented stories. From science fiction and
utopian novels to myths and legends. The book of Genesis talks about the Garden of Eden, it wasn
t until eve ate the apple and sinned that god put death and disease on the earth. The fountain of
youth is a well known tale of longevity, a Spanish explorer went looking for a spring that said to
be in Florida and anyone who drank from it would have youth restored to there body. The Holy
Grail is another story, it is the chalice that Jesus and his disciples drank from at the last supper.
The legend is anyone who had drank from it lived an extraordinarily long life. Gilgamesh was a

Creating an optimal design that allowed my bottle rocket to go to the highest possible altitude and

attempting to test run and optimize the best design the allows the rocket to have an outstanding
altitude and velocity. During this process of trial and error, I have organized my results by marking
them down on multiple data table. I got my information from a bottle rocket simulator programmed

of 0.03, and had the cone of the bottle rocket on. I picked the variable of the cone on/off,
percentage filled with water, and size of bottle as my three most critical variables. I picked them
because during the runs where I was testing these variables, the altitude and velocity had significant
changes every time. There were some variables such as ballast weight and temperature at launch
that didn t have as drastic changes with each run so they were not as important. One thing that
noticed is that the velocity was consistently higher than the altitude so when testing it, I was more
focused on raising the altitude. When I was focused on the altitude, I never noticed a significant
drop in velocity so I don t think there were any trade offs with the results from this

Evolution Vs. Creationism Debate
In this paper I will be explaining two sides of the evolution vs. creationism debate. The topics I
am going to write about are fossil evidence, the origin of life, and Darwin s theory of natural
selection. I will be presenting a view of both sides of the argument they will be on the creation side
and evolutionstandpoint. I would suggest that you, the reader, would have a previous knowledge
of all the topics so that you may get a full understanding of both sides. If there is no prior
knowledge of one side or another know that not all people that have beliefs in any of these topics
agree with all of these standings.
There will be three topics discussed that will provide a view of two sides of the argument on the
way that life happened upon earth. For the views of fossil evidence I will present the ideas of
relative dating, this is the assumption that the lower layers of strata are older than the ones atop.
For the creationist, view that a Great Flood happened. The next topic is the origin of life. For the
two views I will present the Miller Urey experiment why it proves evolution and why it doesn t.
For my final topic I will present Darwin s ideas of natural selection why it proves evolution and
why it does not.
Fossil evidence is a leading example of why evolution is true. If you open any biology text book
you will find a section on fossils and relative dating. Relative dating is the science of taking fossils
from one sedimentary layer and comparing it to the ones

Trifles Analysis
Woman
Susan Glaspell shows her readers that women will no longer be in the background. By writing
Trifles she gave women an outlook they have never received before. Trifles is a coming up story
about women, in other words its about women and their rise to power. Glaspell embodies the
women spirit by showing the power, conning, and intectellt of the women in her play.
When people think of power the first thing that comes to mind is a man Women are shown to be
weak, mindless and serving, but in Trifles Glaspell depicts women to have more fire and power. In
1900 s women were housewives they did not own anything and did what they were told kind of like
slaves. Trifles shows Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Wright as something much more than that.
Right in the beginning (1860) it shows that Mrs. Wright might have committed murder.Trifles
shows that this woman could have possess the power to kill a man. That was unheard of in the
1900 s because women did not speak out or defend themselves against a man. Mrs. Hale shows
just a snippet of her power when The County Attorney on page (1861) says Dirty towels! Not
much of a housekeeper, would you say, ladies? Mrs.Hale claps back with There s a great deal of
work to be done on a farm. Mrs. Hales defends Mrs. Wright because she knows just how difficult
it is to maintain a household and didn t feel that was necessary because they had Mrs. Wright
leave in a hurry. Mrs. Hale yet again shows she is not afraid of what is to come on page (1864)
she undoes the knot on the quilt and the sewing comes undone. Mrs.Hale at this time knows that
this quilt is evidence but does not care and starts to sew. Mrs. Peters finally shows she is capable
of having powerful demeanor on page (1866) she says ...If they hadn t held me back I would
have... hurt him. A boy killed her cat and that made her angry enough to think about hurting and
possibly killing him. Power has many different forms and women are starting to take on that form.
Women are capable of many things and being conning is just one of them. People lie all the time
to get away with things they do not want to get in trouble for. For a woman to lie was unheard of
especially to an attorney and sheriff. Mrs.

Portrayal Of Women In Media Literacy
LITERATURE REVIEW
The well known adage which states that If a woman is educated, the whole family gets educated ,
is very appropriate for Media Literacy. Poverty, gender discrepancies, illiteracy and disconnectivity
have left women all over the world helpless when it comes to getting information. Sadly,
historically across the globe such discrepancies are not confined to a specific culture, region,
country or status. But one thing that has been observed is that this is more obvious in the rural and
backward areas (Johnson. N,2013). It is essential that women be harnessed to use technology and
thereby included in the big picture of media literacy. Having technology and not being able to use
it, is as good as not having it. Developing media skills is equally essential. When women citizens
become critical consumers of information, then they would most definitely contribute to public
discourse effectively. Another reason is that in developing media skills, women citizens can protect
themselves and others from harmful content pushed mainly by new information and
communication technologies.
Portrayal of Women in Media
How women are portrayed or represented in media is also important. Media can play a significant
role in sensitizing the society about gender issues. But, before that, the media itself needs to be
sensitized in covering women issues. The distribution of power between the two sexes both
physical and economic is unequal, leading to discrimination against women.

Slow economic growth combined with a still high population growth has kept the Philippines per
capita income lagging behind those of its regional neighbors. The urgency to recover lost ground is,
therefore, clear. Although the economy has improved, the growth forecast for the immediate future
is less reassuring. The challenge is how to stay on course and sustain the momentum in the face of
what appears to be a prolonged slowdown in the world economy and the precarious state of public
finances. To meet this challenge, the Philippine Government has formulated a macroeconomic
program for stability and growth with equity. At the core of this program is a poverty reduction
agenda anchored on redistributing economic opportunities, protecting the vulnerable, and
enhancing the capabilities of the poor to participate in decision making. The nature, composition
and causes of poverty in the Philippines as well as the responses required to eliminate poverty have
been discussed amongst representatives of Government, civil society, the private sector, and the
international donor community at several forums. The most important among these forums are the
five island wide multi sectoral consultation workshops to discuss the draft NAAA in 2000, the

Battle Of Britain Research Paper
Many can argue that the Battle of Britain could have been won by both sides of the war. Although
ultimately the British had the advantage. A few reasons for their victory was their use of radar,
and their strategies. There were over a hundred Canadian pilots that fought, and although the RAF
only recognizes 83 it is believed that the 23 that died were killed later on in the war. The Battle of
Britainwas fought in the skies of Britain and over the English channel. The Germans had many
disadvantages such as having to fly overseas to attack the British flight. The battle began in July

For the RAF, pilots were urgently needed and the courses were short. Many lasting only about
two days with 10 hours of flying experience. The radar system the British used was invented by

The radar allowed Britain to track incoming German warplanes and gave the Fighter Command,
(led by Sir Hugh Dowding) sufficient time to get airborne and attack them. The radar systems
were set up along the South East part of England. They were dubbed the eyes of the RAF. The
pilots of the Fighter Command needed to be in the air as soon as possible in an effort to stop the

The Truth In Edgar Allan Poe s The Raven
In today s world, the news is constantly shrouded in controversy. Stories of violence and crime
are everywhere. Hidden amongst the plethora of articles, there s bound to be a report without a
shred of truth in it. As smart as people like to think they are, mistakes in judgement do occur from
time to time. A mere glimpse of a shocking headline is enough to throw someone off. Given
enough intimidating and persuasive words, it can be quite easy to mislead someone. When a
person is overcome with emotion, it can be even more difficult to distinguish what is real or not.
Edgar Allan Poes most prominent poem, The Raven, gives an example. In The Raven, the Raven
is not actually real, but rather, it is a manifestation of the speaker s built up vexation; this is
relevant to 2017, since people are easily deceived when they are frustrated.
The first implication that the Raven is not real is in the beginning of the poem when the bird
appears spontaneously. At first, the speaker only hears a tapping at his door. Logically, he
assumes that the noise is that of a random visitor. Upon opening the door, however, he sees
[darkness] there and nothing more (Poe 24). The speaker returns to his chamber, but the sound
continues, this time coming from his window. Instead of finding nothing once more, he is
surprised to find a raven fly in and [perch] upon a bust of Pallas just above [his] chamber door (Poe
41). It is hard to explain how the Raven changes its position so quickly. Because

Reconstruction’s Failure to Bring Social and Economic...
The Reconstruction Era lasted up to 1877 from the time just after the Civil War. The
Reconstruction failed to bring about social and economic equality to the former slaves due to the
southern whites resentful and bitter outlook on the matter, the Ku Klux Klan, and the Jim Crow
laws. After the Civil War, the southern whites were extremely resentful and bitter. In 1865 the
southern states began issuing black codes, which were laws made subsequent to the Civil War that
had the effect of limiting the civil rights and civil liberties of blacks. This term tends to refer to the
legislation passed by southern states to control the labor, migration, and other activities of newly

The Ku Klux Act gave the president great power to intervene with southern states affected by the
Klan s violent acts. Federal officials eventually arrested hundreds of people suspected to have been
involved in the Klan and the violence then subsided. However, by this time, the Ku Klux Klan had
achieved its main goals in the majority of the southern states and the white supremacist
governments were then in firm control. Consequently, a variety of legal measures could be taken
to suppress the blacks voting and civil rights. The Jim Crow laws were state and local laws enacted
that mandated racial segregation in all public facilities in southern states of the former
confederacy. The blacks were said to be separate but equal and this separation led to conditions for
the blacks that tended to be inferior to those provided for whites. Law enforced segregation mainly
applied to the southern United States whereas northern segregation had patterns of segregation in
housing that was enforced by the covenants, bank lending practices, and job discrimination. For
decades, this included discriminatory union practices for decades. The Jim Crow laws segregated

Jonathan Larson s Life Of Poverty
Jonathan Larson
Jonathan Larson lived a short life in poverty. He was born in New York 1960 and died 1996.
During his short 36 year life he is credited for a few plays and received many awards as either a
playwright or a composer including Tick, Tick Boom and the opera La Boheme inspired, Rent.
After graduating from White Plains High School he was awarded a four year scholarship to
Adelphi University on long Island for acting. During his college days he explored his creativity
through playwriting. He wrote and performed school cabarets and worked on small productions.
Jonathan Larson had a knack for reinventing theater in 1988 he was awarded with the Richard
Rodgers Production Award for Superbia, a story parallel to George Orwell s 1984 (http:/
/userpages.umbc.edu/~mp6/rent/auth/author.html) He also reinvented La Boheme into an updated
American musical drawing from many personal events.
Larson was a realist. Larson drew from his own experiences. Tick, Tick Boom which was about a
man whose best friend tells him he s HIV positive (http://userpages.umbc.edu/~mp6/rent/auth
/author.html) and Rent were closely similar to his own life. When Larson s best friend Matthew O
Grady professed that he is HIV+ the characters in Rent became more real. Instead of Parisian
bohemians struggling with tuberculosis his updated American tragedy would be infected with
AIDS and live in similar circumstances that he was accustomed to.
During his writing of Rent he lived a poverty stricken life

Concept Of Organizational Culture Shift
This movie illustrates the ability for organizational change to influence success, and widely
accepted societal norms to be defied, through the combined efforts of a group of individuals. In
this particular instance, a lowly rated baseball team in a small market and inauspicious financial
setting is able to undergo a transformative change, primarily due to their beliefs. This illustrates to
organizations that change can be beneficial and is usually required in order to remain competitive,
and it is often a preferred route to follow in order to achieve desired goals.
Change is important in organizations as it allows employees to learn new skills, explore new
opportunities and exercise their creativity in ways that ultimately benefit the organization through
new idea generation and increased commitment (Leigh Demand, n.d., para. 6). The concept of
organizational culture shift can be viewed as a process that is undertaken for growth and success, as
it creates room for new opportunities and risk taking. The purpose of the paper which highlights the
need for organizational and cultural change, and its intrinsic benefits, will be achieved through an
analysis of the internal culture and the influence of external environment, by observing the benefits
of incorporating change in an organization. Furthermore, I will discuss the advantages and
disadvantages of adapting to changes and the competitive edge it provides to organizations.
This paper will begin with a synopsis, which

Why Women Should Fight The Front Line
Why I Believe Women Should Be On The Front Line I believe women should fight side by side
with men. I believe women are equal to men, there s only a physical difference but we are all the
same. Women can do everything a man can. If women fight in the front line i think there would be
less casualties than there right now.
Although women should be fighting in front line in the military many believe they should not.
More than 200,000 position will still be remain exclusive to men. women won t be able to qualify
for jobs. They are not going to be able to meet those standards (Women in the Military: Why Can t

Many believe that women are only good at home. Actually been told she shouldn t try to work
outside of her administrative live duties because thats what girls are good at (Women in the

The Rash Romeo in Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet Essay
The Rash Romeo in Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet
In the play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo s actions are rash throughout the play. For example, Romeo
does not consider the consequences of his actions when he insists on marrying Juliet. Also, Romeo
shows rashness when he kills Tybalt. Finally, Romeo is rash when he kills himself. Rashness is a
quality that haunts Romeo throughout the play.
One of Romeo s acts that shows his rashness is his marrying Juliet. After Juliet says that she does
not want to marry Romeo, he persists and says that he wants Th exchange of thy love s faithful
vow for mine (2.2.134). Romeo does not consider the consequences of their marriage. He simply
wants his wish fulfilled. He is rash ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Romeo wants revenge and fights with Tybalt. In this fight, Romeo kills Tybalt. When Romeo
realizes the consequences of his actions, he says that he is Fortune s fool (3.1.142). He believes
that he has no control over the killings of Mercutio and Tybalt. However, these events are
caused by his own rashness. Romeo chooses to fight with Tybalt and even starts the fight. Romeo
fights to avenge his friend s death. Romeo s actions are rash because he does not consider the
results of his actions. Romeo could resolve the conflict in some nonviolent way, but his mind is
fixed on killing Tybalt. Romeo is exiled from Verona because he kills Tybalt. His rashness causes
problems for his own family as well as for the Capulets and for the Prince. Romeo s rashness in
killing Tybalt leads to his killing himself.
In the final scene, Romeo s thoughts and actions are very rash when he decides to kill himself.
When Romeo is told that Juliet has died, he immediately decides to kill himself. Romeo does not
think of the pain and suffering that will come to his family and friends if he kills himself. Again,
Romeo acts without thinking of the consequences of his actions. He has done without thought a sin
that is not necessary and that could be avoided. Once again Romeo s rashness brings causes
problems and brings sadness to people that he loves.
Problems that arise because of Romeo s rashness are routine throughout the play. Romeo does not

Comparison Of Deep Relaxation And Meditation Model
The therapeutic model I will outline is Deep Relaxation and Meditation, it has been said to help
with psychological stress, anxiety disorders and major depression (215). For people with anxiety,
the stress system never shut down .... deep relaxation and meditation can help shut down the
release of stress chemical into the bloodstream (Brogaard, 215). It seems by relaxing and taking
deep breathes it allows you to focus on the situation that is arising, plus it can help you to center
yourself from having an anxietyepisode. Plus deep relaxation and meditation can rejuvenate the
brain s chemistry and leads to a calmer state of mind, even after the relaxation or mediation ends
(216).

People that struggle with anxiety over exert themselves; allow their body temperature to rise,
which causes the individual to sweat. And once the sweating start, especially in an environment
that would not necessarily condition your body to react in such a way, it makes that person feel
very uncomfortable in a public setting. Throughout some needed time and practice it will give the
individual subject the confidence needed to face any challenge that may present itself and to
conquer the need to startle oneself. And by Brogaard stating that stress chemicals...is responsible
for keeping the body active and on edge (215), that deep relaxation and meditation will definitely
counter stress and anxiety issues. And maybe one day James will learn that associating his past
failed relationships with his anxiety issues, can hinder him from moving on and finding a love that is

Equilibrium Reaction Lab Report Essay
Introduction:
The purpose of this lab was demonstrate the Le Chatelier s principle and to observe the changes of
the chemical equilibrium reaction. Chemical equilibrium is the point in which the reaction to
appears to have stopped, but the rates of the forward and reverse reactions are equal. The Le
Chatelier s principle is the principle of when a stress is applied to a chemical system at equilibrium,
the equilibrium will shift to relieve the stress. The experiment was designed to test the effects on
the equilibrium when other substances were added to the reagents. The reagents were observed and
recorded. The shift of the equilibrium was determined to further understand the factors that affect
the chemical equilibrium.
Procedures:
In this experiment, Iron(III) nitrate (Fe(NO)3) and Ammonium thiocyanate (NH4NCS) were mixed
and used as the control substance. They were also the reactants of the equilibrium. Heat, Cold,
Tin(II) chloride (SnCl2), Silver nitrate (AgNO3), Disodium hydrogen phosphate (Na2HPO4),
Ammonia ( NH3), Iron(III) nitrate (Fe(NO)3), and Ammonium thiocyanate (NH4NCS) were the
eight factors that were used during the experiment. .
At the beginning, a two hundred and fifty milliliter (mL) beaker was obtained and two hundred
milliliters of distilled water (H2O) was added. With a plastic pipette, eight drops of Iron(III) nitrate
(Fe(NO)3), and eight drops of Ammonium thiocyanate (NH4NCS) were added to the distilled
water. The substance was then mixed with a

The Issue Of Political Participation
Political participation is a right afforded to United States citizens; it is our civic duty to participate
and is ultimately a privilege. The founders believed that it was the newly founded government s
responsibility to protect the basic rights of the people. With those beliefs they made the United
States of America, a two tiered, three branch democracyand therefore the people hold the power to
freely elect who they want to represent them in government. The local representatives, we elect
push for laws of interest to the majority and provide them with the resources that they need. The
president implements and enforces laws that Congress passes. With such social ramifications and
power granted to government representatives it would seem as though nearly everyone should be
invested in political matters and actively engaged in political participation. Among the easiest ways
to get involved politically is through the votingprocess and elections, others are symbolic
participation, civil society participation, protesting, marching, contacting public officials, being part
of electioncampaigns and even running for office. While voting is among the easiest ways to be a
part of this democracy, the turnout is low. The right to vote has opened up to a larger number of
people through legislation, but still the turnout rate is low. There are factors that show a correlation
in the chance of whether or not one will vote, and are very telling in some instances. Voting in the

Three Key Components Of Albert Bandura s Social Learning...
Another theory that is relevant to the study is Albert Bandura s (1977) Social Learning Theory.
Unlike the experiential learning theory which is more focused on how the environment affects the
behaviour of the individual, the social learning theory is based on the idea that we learn from our
interactions with others in a social context. Separately, by observing the behaviors of others, people
tend to develop similar behaviors. New concepts of social learningare being formulated as new
trends in distance education programs emerge. The rise in popularity of these programs continues
to increase the physical distance between educators and students (Smith Berge, 2009). There are
three key components to Bandura s social learning theory... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First, observational learning is where learners observe behaviors by others in order to start the
learning process. Bandura s second and third stages of social learning; imitation and behavior
modeling, will occur if a person observes positive, desired outcomes in the first stage. If, for
example, an instructor attends and observes a course in world and is entertained, informed, and
approves of the way students act, they are more likely to want to teach a course in world
themselves. They can then use the behavior they experienced to imitate and model other instructors

Eventually, Theodosius (the new Roman emperor), called a second council, which was held in Constantinople. The council affirmed the view of the earlier Nicene Council that Jesus is fully divine, eternal, not created. Moreover, the council accepted the full divinity of the Holy Spirit, teaching that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, yet there is only one God. The Nicene Creed (as translated by the International Consultation on English Texts, 1975) reads as follows: We believe in our God the Father, the Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and of all that is, seen and unseen. Here I will discuss Romantic Art, some history behind the painting, the painting in general, and to prove why the first statement is true. If we are going to call this painting Romantic Art one must first know what it actually is or have some sort of idea what is counted as Romanticismor as something that Romantics would do. Romanticism celebrates the spontaneity and the use of the imagination. Abandoning tradition constraints of the art world to explore new and creative ways of expression. He interviewed the survivors, drew mutilated corpses in the Paris morgue, and had a model created in his studio of the raft. The painting was 16 feet 1 inch by 23 feet 6 inches so it is huge in size and the dramatic impact was just as amazing. This gave the people a record of an event that happened in a time before photography. At first glance a viewer might just see people huddled on a raft together, a couple waving down a ship, and trying to get someone off canvases attention while others try to keep those who are weaker on the raft. • 5. Importance Of Reflection In Writing I have made a phenomenal amount of progress this semester. English 101 has made me a better writer and editor. Because the modules and peer editing reviews it was easy to correct and learn from my mistakes. As a writer, I think I can still make an amount of improvement. With it being from mechanic errors and to clear organization skills. As for providing clear and relevant examples I have made improvements. I say I m an average, but growing writer. I have my skills and weakness, but I still try harder. When I first came to English 101 I thought I had it down packed. In high school, I took AP Lit, a advanced placement English class. AP Lit offered a college level course, teaching us high school students college curricular. But when I received my first assignment, I hesitated, not knowing what to write. Then modules were introduced, making it better to reflect on. Constantly I relied on modules and notes, which helped me improve in my writing, in result giving me better feedback. As I progress along the semester, my final paper grades have improved. From starting on my political analysis project to finishing my argumentative essay. My political analysis paper ended with a 70%. The 70% is from the lack of transition and the lack of specific audiences. Also analyzing my information and relating back to my thesis. • 6. The Prologue And Part One Of The Book Nietzsche Whether the happening be good or bad, humans tend to rationalize the circumstance and make it an event that served a greater purpose. In Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche, Zarathustra describes this behavior, along with many others, as life denying as he was mainly concerned with ethics. The prologue tells the story of how Zarathustra went up a mountain and spent ten years there gaining wisdom; he then descends to share his wisdom but the people laugh at him and he comes to realize that they did not and would not take him seriously because they were too far gone with old beliefs. He also came to the conclusion that he did not want people who conform and do not think for themselves, or followers, but rather people who desire to go in the same direction he is going. Throughout the prologue and part one of the book Nietzsche is trying to teach those who can think for themselves about how to live well and without excuses. The prologue mainly consists of Zarathustra descending from the mountain back into the town and realizing that no one takes him seriously. Zarathustra is discouraged at first but then realizes that he was not targeting the right audience and begins again. He starts off by establishing an overman, who is someone who can affirm and embrace life completely without any excuses. Consecutively he establishes a last man, who is said to be someone who has no questions, no chaos, no creativity, and seeks comfort and security. His view of man is a cross ... Some people believe that watching TV does more good things to people than harmful things, but other people say that it does more harmful things to people than good things. The people who say that TV does more harmful things than good things are doctors who know about things that are good and bad in people s health and the people who say that TV is good for you are the people who watch a lot of TV. Since doctors can help cure people and know what is good for people, this would mean that the doctors are correct about TV harming people than the people who watch a lot of TV who believe that TV can do good things to other people. Watching TV does more harmful things to people than good things because it can cause them people to imitate bad behavior on TV, it can cause people to have health problems, and that it can people s time away from doing activities that help them become successful in their life. People who watch a lot of tv think that they are not harmed by the TV but this however is not true. Lovett has just told Todd what had happened to his wife and daughter, and Todd is incredibly angry and ready to kill the judge. After, Mrs. Lovett gives a case of Todd s old razors to him and says you could be a Barber again . The song starts with a repetitive, hypnotic motion in the piano. Also vocally this is awfully rigid and has a whispery quality to it. Todd goes into a trance like state and the only entity he can focus on is the razors. As the song goes on Mrs. Lovett chimes in with telling Todd how she fancies him, but Todd remains fully invested in his razors almost as if they were another human being. The number closes with Todd in immense triumph as he states at last my right arm is complete again . The performances in this number are okay, Michael Cerveris has a fine grasp of this character. The joy is heard in his voice towards the conclusion of the song when he s talking about what he will achieve with the razors. Yet throughout the song he s incredibly staccato on his sections where he should be legato, it s fairly distracting. Solar power is a great way to save money as well as conserve energy. Solar panels convert sunlight into usable energy for housing, businesses, sections of properties, and even stuff like pool equipment. I want to discuss out the three important points about photovoltaic panels starting with the history of solar panels to understanding panels and how they are built, and finally the environmental aspects of photovoltaic panels. For those who don t know, solar energy is radiant energy produced by the sun and can be captured through semi conductors to use the energy. Solar energy is used in many parts of the world and has become very poplar today. The history of solar energy goes back to the 1769 s when a Swiss scientist named Horace Benedict de Saussure created the first solar collector which was an insulated box covered with three layers of glass to absorb heat energy. Saussure s box became widely know as the first solar oven, reaching temperatures of 230 degrees fahrenheit. (7). This complex system of collecting sunlight to create power for all sorts of things became extremely popular and the industry started to boom. Bacteria and Archaea encompass a generalised classification known as the prokaryotes. The divergence of MreB in eukaryotic cells is seen to be similar to the divergence of FtsZ to tubulin, where MreB acquired new functions as eukaryotes evolved. These new functions included the ability to perform cell division specific to eukaryotic cells, cell movement through pseudopodia, and phagocytosis. Phagocytosis is postulated to have been a central step in the success of eukaryotic evolution, as the ability to engulf other organisms such as bacteria and archaea led to eukaryotes becoming predators. The ability to perform predation contributed heavily to the survival of the eukaryotic line, as it reduced competition. Phagocytosis also allowed for the engulfment of cyanobacteria and other bacteria which contributed to endosymbiosis, further increasing the complexity of eukaryotic cells. It was not until the Trayvon Martin travesty that I had an epiphany; we, as African American, are not equal to other citizens of this nation. No, it was much more beyond that; black people were considered subpar to the superior white citizens of our so called perfect country. Once I found this out, I researched more information because the situation we are currently in is one we must know more about if we want to move forward. Joining the Black Lives Matter group through social media truly educated me more about the race problem our nation is in. The police brutality, the constant way the media portrays black people, redlining and gentrification, etcetera, was an eyeopening experience for me. Before that documentary, I was aware of the mass incarceration dilemma, but I never fully grasped the severity of the situation. It was at that moment after watching the documentary, The 13th, the weight of this issue sank in, allowing me to understand the role our own government played in this and became my introduction on mass incarceration and its hold on the black ... During this process of trial and error, I have organized my results by marking them down on multiple data table. I would suggest that you, the reader, would have a previous knowledge of all the topics so that you may get a full understanding of both sides. For the creationist, view that a Great Flood happened. The next topic is the origin of life. For the two views I will present the Miller Urey experiment why it proves evolution and why it doesn t. For my final topic I will present Darwin s ideas of natural selection why it proves evolution and why it does not. Fossil evidence is a leading example of why evolution is true. • 33. Trifles Analysis Woman Susan Glaspell shows her readers that women will no longer be in the background. By writing Trifles she gave women an outlook they have never received before. Trifles is a coming up story about women, in other words its about women and their rise to power. Glaspell embodies the women spirit by showing the power, conning, and intectellt of the women in her play. When people think of power the first thing that comes to mind is a man Women are shown to be weak, mindless and serving, but in Trifles Glaspell depicts women to have more fire and power. In 1900 s women were housewives they did not own anything and did what they were told kind of like slaves. Trifles shows Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Wright as something much more than that. Right in the beginning (1860) it shows that Mrs. Wright might have committed murder.Trifles shows that this woman could have possess the power to kill a man. That was unheard of in the 1900 s because women did not speak out or defend themselves against a man. Mrs. Hale shows just a snippet of her power when The County Attorney on page (1861) says Dirty towels! Not much of a housekeeper, would you say, ladies? Mrs.Hale claps back with There s a great deal of work to be done on a farm. Mrs. Hales defends Mrs. Wright because she knows just how difficult it is to maintain a household and didn t feel that was necessary because they had Mrs. Wright leave in a hurry. Mrs. Hale yet again shows she is not afraid of what is to come on page (1864) she undoes the knot on the quilt and the sewing comes undone. Mrs.Hale at this time knows that this quilt is evidence but does not care and starts to sew. Mrs. Peters finally shows she is capable of having powerful demeanor on page (1866) she says ...If they hadn t held me back I would have... hurt him. A boy killed her cat and that made her angry enough to think about hurting and possibly killing him. Power has many different forms and women are starting to take on that form. • 34. Portrayal Of Women In Media Literacy LITERATURE REVIEW The well known adage which states that If a woman is educated, the whole family gets educated , is very appropriate for Media Literacy. Poverty, gender discrepancies, illiteracy and disconnectivity have left women all over the world helpless when it comes to getting information. Sadly, historically across the globe such discrepancies are not confined to a specific culture, region, country or status. But one thing that has been observed is that this is more obvious in the rural and backward areas (Johnson. N,2013). It is essential that women be harnessed to use technology and thereby included in the big picture of media literacy. Having technology and not being able to use it, is as good as not having it. Developing media skills is equally essential. When women citizens become critical consumers of information, then they would most definitely contribute to public discourse effectively. Another reason is that in developing media skills, women citizens can protect themselves and others from harmful content pushed mainly by new information and communication technologies. Portrayal of Women in Media How women are portrayed or represented in media is also important. Media can play a significant role in sensitizing the society about gender issues. But, before that, the media itself needs to be sensitized in covering women issues. The distribution of power between the two sexes both physical and economic is unequal, leading to discrimination against women. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Slow economic growth combined with a still high population growth has kept the Philippines per capita income lagging behind those of its regional neighbors. The urgency to recover lost ground is, therefore, clear. Although the economy has improved, the growth forecast for the immediate future is less reassuring. The challenge is how to stay on course and sustain the momentum in the face of what appears to be a prolonged slowdown in the world economy and the precarious state of public finances. To meet this challenge, the Philippine Government has formulated a macroeconomic program for stability and growth with equity. At the core of this program is a poverty reduction agenda anchored on redistributing economic opportunities, protecting the vulnerable, and enhancing the capabilities of the poor to participate in decision making. The nature, composition and causes of poverty in the Philippines as well as the responses required to eliminate poverty have been discussed amongst representatives of Government, civil society, the private sector, and the international donor community at several forums. Hidden amongst the plethora of articles, there s bound to be a report without a shred of truth in it. As smart as people like to think they are, mistakes in judgement do occur from time to time. A mere glimpse of a shocking headline is enough to throw someone off. Given enough intimidating and persuasive words, it can be quite easy to mislead someone. When a person is overcome with emotion, it can be even more difficult to distinguish what is real or not. Edgar Allan Poes most prominent poem, The Raven, gives an example. In The Raven, the Raven is not actually real, but rather, it is a manifestation of the speaker s built up vexation; this is relevant to 2017, since people are easily deceived when they are frustrated. The first implication that the Raven is not real is in the beginning of the poem when the bird appears spontaneously. At first, the speaker only hears a tapping at his door. Logically, he assumes that the noise is that of a random visitor. Upon opening the door, however, he sees [darkness] there and nothing more (Poe 24). The speaker returns to his chamber, but the sound continues, this time coming from his window. Instead of finding nothing once more, he is surprised to find a raven fly in and [perch] upon a bust of Pallas just above [his] chamber door (Poe 41). In this particular instance, a lowly rated baseball team in a small market and inauspicious financial setting is able to undergo a transformative change, primarily due to their beliefs. This illustrates to organizations that change can be beneficial and is usually required in order to remain competitive, and it is often a preferred route to follow in order to achieve desired goals. Change is important in organizations as it allows employees to learn new skills, explore new opportunities and exercise their creativity in ways that ultimately benefit the organization through new idea generation and increased commitment (Leigh Demand, n.d., para. 6). For people with anxiety, the stress system never shut down .... deep relaxation and meditation can help shut down the release of stress chemical into the bloodstream (Brogaard, 215). It seems by relaxing and taking deep breathes it allows you to focus on the situation that is arising, plus it can help you to center yourself from having an anxietyepisode. Plus deep relaxation and meditation can rejuvenate the brain s chemistry and leads to a calmer state of mind, even after the relaxation or mediation ends (216). I have been introduced to a gentleman years ago, who has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People that struggle with anxiety over exert themselves; allow their body temperature to rise, which causes the individual to sweat. And once the sweating start, especially in an environment that would not necessarily condition your body to react in such a way, it makes that person feel very uncomfortable in a public setting. Throughout some needed time and practice it will give the individual subject the confidence needed to face any challenge that may present itself and to conquer the need to startle oneself. And by Brogaard stating that stress chemicals...is responsible for keeping the body active and on edge (215), that deep relaxation and meditation will definitely counter stress and anxiety issues. And maybe one day James will learn that associating his past failed relationships with his anxiety issues, can hinder him from moving on and finding a love that is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Equilibrium Reaction Lab Report Essay Introduction: The purpose of this lab was demonstrate the Le Chatelier s principle and to observe the changes of the chemical equilibrium reaction. Chemical equilibrium is the point in which the reaction to appears to have stopped, but the rates of the forward and reverse reactions are equal. The Le Chatelier s principle is the principle of when a stress is applied to a chemical system at equilibrium, the equilibrium will shift to relieve the stress. The experiment was designed to test the effects on the equilibrium when other substances were added to the reagents. The reagents were observed and recorded. The shift of the equilibrium was determined to further understand the factors that affect the chemical equilibrium. Procedures: In this experiment, Iron(III) nitrate (Fe(NO)3) and Ammonium thiocyanate (NH4NCS) were mixed and used as the control substance. They were also the reactants of the equilibrium. Heat, Cold, Tin(II) chloride (SnCl2), Silver nitrate (AgNO3), Disodium hydrogen phosphate (Na2HPO4), Ammonia ( NH3), Iron(III) nitrate (Fe(NO)3), and Ammonium thiocyanate (NH4NCS) were the eight factors that were used during the experiment. . At the beginning, a two hundred and fifty milliliter (mL) beaker was obtained and two hundred milliliters of distilled water (H2O) was added. With a plastic pipette, eight drops of Iron(III) nitrate (Fe(NO)3), and eight drops of Ammonium thiocyanate (NH4NCS) were added to the distilled water. The substance was then mixed with a ... • 49. The Issue Of Political Participation Political participation is a right afforded to United States citizens; it is our civic duty to participate and is ultimately a privilege. The founders believed that it was the newly founded government s responsibility to protect the basic rights of the people. With those beliefs they made the United States of America, a two tiered, three branch democracyand therefore the people hold the power to freely elect who they want to represent them in government. The local representatives, we elect push for laws of interest to the majority and provide them with the resources that they need. The president implements and enforces laws that Congress passes. With such social ramifications and power granted to government representatives it would seem as though nearly everyone should be invested in political matters and actively engaged in political participation. Among the easiest ways to get involved politically is through the votingprocess and elections, others are symbolic participation, civil society participation, protesting, marching, contacting public officials, being part of electioncampaigns and even running for office. While voting is among the easiest ways to be a part of this democracy, the turnout is low. The right to vote has opened up to a larger number of people through legislation, but still the turnout rate is low. There are factors that show a correlation in the chance of whether or not one will vote, and are very telling in some instances. Voting in the United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 50. Three Key Components Of Albert Bandura s Social Learning... Another theory that is relevant to the study is Albert Bandura s (1977) Social Learning Theory. Unlike the experiential learning theory which is more focused on how the environment affects the behaviour of the individual, the social learning theory is based on the idea that we learn from our interactions with others in a social context. Separately, by observing the behaviors of others, people tend to develop similar behaviors. New concepts of social learningare being formulated as new trends in distance education programs emerge. The rise in popularity of these programs continues to increase the physical distance between educators and students (Smith Berge, 2009). There are three key components to Bandura s social learning theory... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, observational learning is where learners observe behaviors by others in order to start the learning process. Bandura s second and third stages of social learning; imitation and behavior modeling, will occur if a person observes positive, desired outcomes in the first stage. If, for example, an instructor attends and observes a course in world and is entertained, informed, and approves of the way students act, they are more likely to want to teach a course in world themselves. They can then use the behavior they experienced to imitate and model other instructors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
