The document provides information about highwall mining technology. It discusses how highwall mining can extract coal from the face of a coal seam under a highwall in a surface mine. It notes that SCCL is the first company implementing this technology in India at certain mines. Highwall mining provides an economical way to extract coal reserves locked in the highwall that would otherwise be lost. The technology involves driving parallel entries into the coal seam without artificial support using auger heads or continuous miners.
The basic principle of BG method is to be extract thick coal seams by drilling and blasting of roof and sides of gallery, which are driven at the bottom at the bottom of the seam at regular intervals.
Blasting gallery method is the appropriate method for the extraction of thick seam.

Room and Pillar mining method is one of the oldest existing mining methods. This system in which the mined material is extracted across a horizontal plane, creating horizontal arrays of rooms and pillars. Usually those room and pillars are uniform size. Pillars may or may not be removed after extraction.
Used for soft as well as hard rock mining and is commonly associated with coal, potash, uranium, and other industrial materials.

Overview of Highwall Mining. A small Pictorial Demonstration files. New Technology. Solution to unreachable beded deposit. Highwall mining is a remotely controlled mining method which extracts coal from the base of an exposed highwall. The method has the advantage of low capital cost and less lead time compared with a full underground mine, while being capable of producing in excess of 1 million tonnes per system per year.
Nippon Dragon Resources Inc. Hard rock revolution has arrived!Nick Vukovich
Nippon Dragon Resources Inc. Hard rock revolution has arrived! Nippon Dragon Resources Inc. is without a doubt one of the most innovative junior mining companies operating today. The Company’s patented “thermal fragmentation” process is ideal for high grade precious/base metal vein deposits. The exploitation of high-grade precious/base metal veins with its exclusive thermal fragmentation process coupled with conventional mining methods will lead the Company in becoming a mid-size gold producer.
Nippon Dragon’s growth strategy is to focus on the development of quality assets that will significantly enhance shareholder value. The acquisition, development and future exploration activities at the Rocmec 1 (Abitibi, Qc, Canada) property is an excellent example of this strategy.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. 2. High Wall Mining Technology
• Highwall Mining is a remotely controlled mining method, which
extracts coal from the face of a coal seam under a highwall in a
surface mine, which has reached the final highwall position due to
uneconomic stripping ratios Or due to local constraints which limit
further surface mining.
• The coal left in the High wall can be extracted by this technology
which otherwise would be lost for ever
• SCCL is the 1st company implementing this technology in India
• The following mines are identified for extraction of coal from the
Highwall by using this technology
• RG OC II Extension (already extracted)
• RG OC I Expansion
• Medapalli OC Expansion
• Koyagudem OC II
3. Highwall Mining Technology:
• This method relies upon the self supporting capacity of the strata
above the series of parallel entries driven mechanically to a
considerable depth without artificial roof support and ventilation in
the seam horizon.
• This technology provides an economical way to extract coal reserves
locked up in the highwall.
• The extent of an opencast project is limited by the financial viability,
though coal seam continues to exist beyond the quarry limits.
• Non-replenishable coal is getting lost forever within the highwalls of
the opencast projects.
• This technology is being practiced in USA, Australia and Indonesia
• Limiting gradient – 1 in 3.5 and maximum penetrating depth (in level
gradient) is around 500 m
8. High wall Mining Technology – Auger Type
• Consisting of single or dual cutting heads with coal being cleared
by spiraled flights, creating circular entries
10. Highwall Mining Methods -
Continuous Highwall Miner (CHM)
Consisting of a remotely operated continuous miner followed by a series
of material transfer cars, creating rectangular entries
