Potential sources of stress:
1. Environmental factors
2. Organizational factors
3. Personal factors
1. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
•Economic uncertainty: when the economy is contracting
people get more anxious about their job security, resulting in
stress.
•Political uncertainty: when political parties change, they
also change the business rules and regulations due to this
businessmen get stressed.
•Technological change: Many workers think that
technological advancements will eliminate their job positions like
use of computers, robotics & automaton. They resist the change.
2. ORGANIZATIONAL FACTORS:
•Task demands: variety of tasks perform in the job,
cause pressure or work load for individual.
•Role demands: expected to do more from a person.
•Interpersonal demands: poor interpersonal
relationships can cause stress among the employees or to
the employer also.
3. Personal factors:
•Family problems: disagreements, family issues,
financial problems etc become the cause of stress.
•Economic problems: Employees who have lost their
jobs or seen wage or salary reductions have been hit
the hardest both financially and psychologically.
•Personality: unable to respond to the changes,
he/she maybe inflexible or rigid to the changes.
