Khalida Brohi is a social entrepreneur from Pakistan who founded the Sughar Foundation and co-founded The Chai Spot to empower rural women. Her initiatives began with campaigning against cultural injustices like honor killings and child marriages, leading to the establishment of the Sughar Women Hub in 2013, which evolved into a non-profit focusing on training and resources for women-owned businesses. Through her work, she also promotes Pakistani culture and provides economic opportunities for women, showcasing her commitment to transforming lives and preserving heritage.

1. --Khalida Brohi, a youngsocial entrepreneur of Pakistan, who’s the Founder and
Executive Director of Sughar Foundation and co-founder of The Chai Spot.
--The idea of Sughar emerged in 2009. Sughar (meaning “skilled and confident woman”
in Urdu). Belonging to Balochistan province of Pakistan, Khalida has lived her life
surrounded by beautiful balochi tradition and rich culture. But apart from the beauty,
she has also witnessed the harshness of cultural restrictions on rural women and the
domestic violence on them. By seeing such restrictions, kahlida brohi decided to take
action against such customs from the age of 16.
--In early 2009, Khalida has involved in campaigning against Honor Killings, child
marriages and exchange marriages through advocacy and publicly shaming tribal
leaders. This led to a huge backlash from the local communities in Balochistan and they
were start creating problems for her. But then she came up with a new idea and instead
of shaming her tribal leaders publicly, she decided to preserve the beautiful tribal
culture by educating and empowering rural women of her village.
--through her initiatives she finally succeeded to establish Sughar Women Hub, in 2013
in village babu khan lashari. This center became a HUB where women learn how to
generate income for themselves and for their family as well.
--- Sughar Women Hub is now become Sughar Foundation, a non-profit organization
dedicated to providing Enterprise training and life skills, Encourage community language
and education, Promote traditional balochi embroidery and Grant resources to launch
and sustain women-owned businesses to rural women in Pakistan. Khalida beleived that
all women in Pakistan are “sughar,” they only need opportunity to unleash that
potential within themselves. In 2014, she registered Sughar Foundation in United States.
And this is not enough, she has showcased this culture on a ramp and sughar is now
dominating as a Pakistan’s first ever rural fashion brand for women, launched in
February 2012.
--Khalida is also co-founder of The Chai Spot; a cafe based in US; it provides economic
opportunities for Pakistani women. The Chai Spot works on 3 principles and these are:
 Peace: Promote peace by introducing Pakistani culture in foreign countries.
 Love: With love, handmade goods provide opportunity to Pakistani women to use
their skills in income generation for themselves and for their families, which boosts
their confidence & gives them respect in their society.
 Chai: while promoting peace, they are giving Americans an authentic taste of the
Pakistan's rich culture and flavors.
She has displayed sindhi and balochi culture in her café. And khalida brohi is standing in
front of The Chai Spot at the grand opening of her café. Khalida brohi has spoken on
such stages as TEDGlobal, she represented Pakistan there also.

2.  1st: She fought for the RIGHT. She knew it something is wrong so she took action
against Honor Killings, child marriages and exchange marriages
 2nd: she transforms her passion into innovation. She always wanted to empower a
rural woman that was her passion so she initiated such innovative projects like
Sughar Foundation and The Chai Spot.
