Orange Is The New Black Analysis
From the very start of Orange is the New Black , creator Jenji Kohan has made it clear that gender
identity and sexuality will feel like a normality in this series. Viewers are to forget what gender
inequality is and see these characters as everyday people. Kohan breaks the rules of traditional male
gaze and phallocentric cinema. These characters are not your typical females. Kohan flips the switch
by setting this series in a women s correctional facility. Up until the last few centuries, female
characters in film and television have been portrayed in a softer light. They are supposed to be pretty
and clean the house and take the kids to school. Those days are over. We are now spectators to
characters such as Olivia Pope from the series ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
female dynamic. We see correctional officer Mendez vs. female prisoner Dayanara, female warden
Natalie vs. male staff manager Joe Caputo, ex fiancé Larry vs. recently imprisoned Piper, and tons of
other accounts. In the Orange is the New Black world, the females are the bad guys and the males are
the good guys.(Chen) As a spectator, we view them in the completely opposite position. We are drawn
to the stories and the lives of the women in this prison. We feel for them and want to help them. The
men, on the other hand, have the disadvantage in this series. They are the enemy. This may seem
uncomfortable for some male spectators.(Goldrich) There could be less likelihood for men to enjoy
this series. But what were Jenji s intentions in having all these gender battles? Is this her way of
showing opposition or does she really just not like

Analysis Of The Book What Every Environmentalist Needs...
Student Name: Huanbing Zhang

JGE 331 Book Review (what every environmentalist needs to know about capitalism) To begin this
critical review of this book, the brief and precise introduction and summary of the whole book is
needed before discussing with the authors main arguments. However, this book is mainly emphasizing
the magic relations between the capitalism and current environmental problems. In the other words,
while there are some people who argued that the capitalism thinking is necessarily required for
addressing all of the problem, not just environmental ones, human are encountering the authors argued
for the opposite side of that, especially in terms of such all of environmental issues that the authors
have listed in chapter one as rapid speed of the melting glacier, ocean acidification due to the increase
in carbon dioxide emissions, loss of biodiversity, ground water pollution and deplete, changed natural
land pattern (p. 14), the capitalism instead is a rooted problem that makes these environmental issues
worse. Following that, the authors gave the enough amounts of evidences explaining why capitalism
thinking changed the way in which people lived from getting natural resources for their basic
necessity to unlimited calling for the never enough for luxury life. Therefore, as the needs for natural
resources grew infinitely the authors thought that it is no doubt that the environmental issues would be
worse with capitalism thinking

Same Love By Macklemore And Ryan Lewis
Same Love by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Can you ever recall a time when you heard a song reaching out to you with lyrics that literally called
out to you? Same Love by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis does exactly this. The song was written in
2013 during legalization of same sex marriage in the state of Washington. The song not only reached
the lives of those in Washington but reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs in the United
States and number 1 in New Zealand and Australia. Taking a closer look at the lyrcis, the audience can
see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are not just making money off of the song, they are grasping the
lives of many in each chorise for example Macklemore s opening line, When I was in the third grade I
thought that I was gay, because I could draw, my uncle was and I kept my room straight. Emphasis
that homosexuality is defined as a way of living, as a way one acts. That because his room is clean and
he can draw, automatically makes society see a homosexual. Millions of people around the world
would be able to understand on a very real level what it means to be gay in society. Not only is it
reaching these people but its awakening them to a more realist point of music, to reach the audience

Mesoscale Convective Systems
Mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) are defined as any group of thunderstorms producing a
contiguous precipitation area on the order of 100 km or more in horizontal scale in at least one
direction and can be both linear and circular in nature (Markowski and Richardson 2010). Linear
MCSs are also known as quasi linear convective systems (QLCS) or squall lines. QLCS also
encompass bow echoes and line echo wave patterns (LEWPs). QLCSs are organized lines of
convection that commonly occur over portions of the United States (Trapp et al. 2005), and can
produce all forms of severe weather, including hail, strong straight line winds, and occasionally can
spawn tornadoes (Smith et al. 2012). Trapp et al. (2005) found that about 18% of all tornadoes in the
US are associated with QLCSs. The development of the QLCS is dependent upon the storm produced
cold pool and the environmental shear. As the line of storms propagates, rain cooled air descends from
the downdraft to the surface and spreads ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the jet behind the line of storms descends and strengthens, it pushes forward a segment of the
convective line, creating a bow echo (Figure 2.2). Mesovortices are often formed upon the creation of
a bow echo (Trapp and Weisman 2003 Part II). A mesovortex typically occurs on the northern edge of
the bow echo and is called the bookend vortex . This portion of the bow is typically considered a
highly favorable area for tornadogenesis along a QLCS, and these tornadoes usually occur on the cold
side of the gust front (Fujita 1978, Trapp and Weisman 2003 Part II). In many instances, tornadoes
associated with QLCSs will not exhibit any definitive characteristics suggesting the presence of a
tornado. However, occasionally they can exhibit supercell like features embedded within the line, with
associated deep mesocyclonic structures, notches, or hook echoes in the rain field (Przybylinkski and

Non Christian Faith Research Paper
Faith...is the art of holding on to things your reason once accepted, despite your changing moods
(Lewis 1952). C.S. Lewis in his writings on faith and reasoning there are inherent ideals that when
becoming a Christian are understood. Prior to belief, a person s deeper meaning of faith cannot be
understood. Unbelievers can only have a certain amount of trust in that faith; however, it is purely
practical on the part of the non Christian. As Lewis comments in his writings, there are just certain
trials and tribulations in a person s life that come and go, and then they will have to reach outside of
themselves to a power higher to understand what it all means. Faith and Christianity are both
foundations of beliefs to build a framework upon; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In having a healthy bond with our creator; we in turn, have one with his creation. Humans fail in a
relationship with God, as Lewis follows up by adding that ..if you are right with Him you will
inevitably be right with all fellow creatures.. (Lewis, Faith 2002) . God s way is a moral path, it will
take effort, resolve and reason to maneuver your way through this life. Faith is rational; whereas, our
hearts can be emotional and deceitful. In Jeremiah 17:9, it states the heart can be wicked and sick, and
that can cause us to doubt our faith and lead us to not know what truth is. Reason is what we can lean
back into with the grace of faith to show us the truth. Lewis continues throughout his text to points out
that with faith in God; as you might expect, good works will follow. Moods and failure will come,
thus making it harder to sometimes just take a leap of faith; or in turn, to remove intellectual obstacles
to have faith in God. As Christians we must be instructed in the scriptures and established in the
reasoning that is our faith. Seeking out a deeper relationship with God, while exercising our mental
muscles for the comprehension of the

Essay on The Rise on Prescription Drug Abuse
Many of Americans have been diagnosed with chronic pain. In fact according to the Institute of
Medicine 116 million United States adults live with chronic pain. The majority of these adults do not
seem to receive the adequate treatment needed to help them to cope or to treat their pain. This is
primarily due to the physicians not being able to efficiently diagnose their patients, and or the
physicians lack the knowledge of the best ways to help manage the pain their patients are
experiencing. This is why most people believe that Physicians are the main cause for the rise of
prescription drug abuse (Garcia, 2013). Between the years of 1999 and 2010 the amount of
prescription painkillers that were sold to the pharmacies, hospitals, and the ... Show more content on

In these particular cases the children choose to try out the painkillers, and no doctor prescribed them
to the children.
There are also cases where one has a surgery or medical procedure and gets prescribed pain
medication, because they legitimately need it to help with their pain from their procedure, and they
decide that they like the feeling that they get while taking the pain medicine. The feeling one gets
when they take pain medicine while they are not in pain can make one want to always feel that way.
Taking painkillers can cause dreamy feelings. One relates that feeling with the suppressed emotions
that they feel while on the painkillers and then they start to chase that feeling. This is another way that
people get drawn in by painkillers and can be the start of their addiction (Wood, 2014).
When people become addicted to painkillers they will do anything to achieve that high that they once
felt while taking the drug. A popular way for one to get the prescriptions that they want is to obtain
prescriptions for painkillers from multiple doctors (Cepeda, Fife, Chow, Mastrogiovanni, Henderson,
2012). This is also known as doctor shopping. It allows one to get more painkillers, for the same
problem, from different doctors. The

Worldview Essay
Part 1
What is a Worldview?
A worldview is a person s core beliefs. It comprises of one s collection of presuppositions, convictions
and values from which a person tries to understand and make sense out of the world and life
(MacArthur, 2006). Weider and Gutierrez (2011), sums up worldview as 1. A personal philosophy of
life 2. A framework a person brings to decision making 3. A filter or lens which a person uses to
interpret life and the world around them . (p. 51). Essentially, a worldview is a combination of what
worldly individuals believe to be true that ultimately becomes the driving force behind every emotion,
decision and action.

no way to make it without the blood of Jesus.
Part Three
How might/should a biblical worldview influence the way you?
John 17: 15 16 states how we are not of this world, instead, it does acknowledge we are part of this
world. We should not hide and separate ourselves from others. We are the salt of the earth and with
any meal you make you mix salt in with the other ingredients. We have to be known by our love one
for another and speak and treat everyone we meet with the love of Christ.
Treat/interact with the environment and non human creation.
How we treat and interact with the environment and non human creation is supported by the biblical
command to subdue the earth and have dominion over all living things (Genesis 1:28). The opening
verses of Genesis contains several ideas about the natural world and our place in it and clearly tells us
that God is the source of all life and that creation is good. Specifically, Genesis 1:28 and 2:15
commands that human beings preserve and protect the earth and its creatures. Historically, Adam and

The Effects Of The Child Beauty Pageant
The Negative Effects of the Child Beauty Pageant
By: Pamela Wingate

May 28, 2015
Abstract
This paper will explore the negative effects that a beauty pageant has on a child. While many people
think that these pageants are an overall good experience for any child this paper contains and explores
research paper that will outline the negative effects these pageants have on the children in them, some
of them being long term effects. Some of these effects include mental anguish that is formed from
children being in these contests and the effects the pageants have on a family as a whole. Together
these findings show that perhaps these beauty pageants should not be something that a child should
participate in, or be forced into participating in. Keywords: children, beauty pageants, negative, effects
The first beauty pageant geared towards children was the Little Miss America Pageant which took
place in the 1960 s in New Jersey. Originally participation in these pageants was intended to be for
young girls between the ages of 13 and 17. Since then these pageants had a steady following. Pageants
aren t the dress up play we knew as little girls, they are a multi billion dollar industry. (Cartwright,
2011) However, over the past few years the child beauty pageant has gained mass popularity thanks to
popular television shows such as Toddlers and Tiaras. Shows like this have the purpose and goal of

Heroes are classified and viewed in thousands of different ways depending on the individual on whom
is describing them. A hero is somebody who goes above and beyond expectations and exceeds all the
limitations put on them. Heroes are overall strong characters and do not let people knock them down
no matter the instance. Additionally, heroes are non judgemental and help everyone even if they do not
get along. In the movie, The Magnificent Seven, all the characters exemplify heroism, but Chris goes
above and beyond everyone else.
Chris is a well rounded person and friend who cares for many. Chris is known for protecting his group
of men and in the town of Itxaclan and in turn the town people classify him as a leader and someone
the kids strive to be. Chris does not care what kind of the situation the person is in, he will continue to
go out of his way to support and protect them. He cares for everyone in the town and wants to help
with whatever they need. He wears a blue shirt and blue jeans with a belt of ammo and a gun around
his waist. From what the movie shows, Chris does not have any tattoos, but always looks very serious
when talking to Calvera. After Chris realized that Calvera was invading this town, he took control and

area on 15th December 1999. Follow up control by staff from the Department s Perth Hills District on

A fence was erected around the habitat of Population 1a in early 2000. This has served to prevent

St. Augustine Religion
St. Augustine is considered one of the most profound popes that the Catholic Church has ever had, not
only from his popular texts, but the fact that he unified members of the church, and up bring their
mural at a turbulent time. St. Augustine was born in modern day Algeria(then part of the Roman
Empire) in 354 AD. Eventually, near the age of 17 18, he travelled to Carthage to excel in his studies.
Here, he met the future of the mother of his child, and remained with her for over fifteen years. Soon
however, he eventually left his old hedonistic life behind to join the priesthood. This is when he would
eventually start to write more of his popular work.
St. Augustine wrote many texts, reportedly up to one hundred. The most popular however ... Show

This included stealing of his neighbors fruit for no other reason besides the fact that he wanted to
commit the sin. Then he would boost about sleeping around with women even though he hadn t
because he wanted the attention. These experiences are how Augustine believed that humans were
inclined towards original sin, and could only be saved from the grace of God. Next, in his work about
the Holy Trinity, Augustine wrote about how the Holy Trinity was one substance, including the Father,
the Son, and the Spirit, and not separate. This does not, however, make three gods or three creators.
The Father, the Son and the Spirit are each one Person, and any person affirms himself for himself (De
Trin, VII, 11). Lastly, in the City of God, Augustine wrote that the fall of the Roman Empire was not
at the hands of the Christians. In this, he also emphasized his original position on original sin, and
include statements of good versus evil. Furthermore, Augustines work were vital to debating points in
the first council that defined the Holy Trinity(First Council of Nicaea), set up by Constantinople.
Augustine spent his final days in Hippo. Here, he carried out a miracle of curing a sick man. Apart
from this however, he fell ill while Germanic Tribesmen called Vandals invaded the Roman Empire
territory in Africa, and took over Hippo. Shortly after, he died from his illness on August 28th,

The Philosophers Of Aristotle, Plato, And Aristotle
The Big Three were very influential in Greek Mythology, the same can be said for Greek Philosophy.
Just like Zeus, Poseidon and Hades, there was Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates. These philosophers, Plato
and Aristotle were philosophers in ancient Greece who studied ethics, politics, science, and more.
Both Aristotle and Plato had their own beliefs about moral philosophy, but Aristotle s is more
convincing.
Aristotle was born in 384 B.C. Stagira, a town that was north of Athens, and was one of the greatest
thinkers who ever lived. When he got older he decided to enroll in Plato s Academy, where for two
decades he did his research and taught others. His work contributed to logic, mathematics, physics,
ethics, and many more. He was in fact Plato s student whom both studied under Socrates. He was told
by Philip of Macedonia to tutor his thirteen year old son who later on became one of the greatest
military minds in history, Alexander the Great. Even today all of his work is the starting point of any
discussion that involves logic and ethics.
All of Aristotle s research made him come up with his own moral philosophy. He believed that
everything in this world has a purpose, or telos . To achieve our telos human beings have to gain
experience by achieving traits, also known as virtues. There are two different types of traits that
humans have. Intellectual virtues are ones that can be learned for example, wisdom, loyalty,
intelligence, curiosity, and technique. Moral virtues,

Essay on Women Don t Exist in Their Own Right in the Play
In the time `Hamlet was performed, the Elizabethan audience would not have believed in equality for
women, so the play seems far more sexist to us, the modern audience, than it ever would have to the
Elizabethans. In our lifetimes women are viewed as equals to men, women can have a job and don t
have to take orders from the men in their family. As Paul Thomas says in `Authority and Disorder in
Tudor times , `It would seem that the least dignified, that of uncomplicated submission in a brutally
male world, was a standard and sensible policy for most females for most of the time . In
Shakespearian times women were viewed only as one of two extremes, whores or virgins. Paul
Thomas talks about a bishop in Elizabethan times named ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Liz Lewis thinks this could be `because of his extraordinary genius for portraying human behaviour,
necessarily depicted the condition of women within a patriarchal system and created women
characters which in their richness, transcend the limitations of time. He did write for male
entertainment and it would be historically incorrect to regard his as a feminist.
Therefore, in order to discuss the question, we need to take it apart and consider what it actually
means. When we say `exist , what exactly do we mean? In my opinion the way the female characters,
Ophelia and Gertrude, in `Hamlet exist, is the way in which they live, the way they are viewed by
others in the play, and the way would be perceived by us, or the Elizabethan audience. We have to see
exactly who the male characters are, and the different parts they play. In addition, this essay will
attempt to discover exactly how Shakespeare used Ophelia and Gertrude for the plot, and consider if
they exist in their own right or as the title expresses, as simply `extensions of the male characters.
Gertrude and Ophelia are very feminine characters in `Hamlet , by this I mean they typify the
Elizabethan ideal of a woman, and both are condemned in some way (for being women) by the male
characters. It could be suggested from the `closet scene that Hamlet is jealous of his mother s new
husband. Liz Lewis says Gertrude `transgresses the patriarchal bounds of femininity by marrying so

Isaac Newton Age Of Reason
Astronomy. Gravity. Physics. The scientific ideas and theories which are applied to today s world
originated from a highly educated individual known as Sir Isaac Newton. Newton discovered the law
of gravitation and how particles attract other particles in the universe. It is essential to understand what
events and values led individuals such as Isaac Newton to research and create such intriguing
discoveries which were established during the Age of Reason. The guiding principles which scientists
such as Newton followed are what provide a foundation for the scientific advances which we make
today.
During the Age of Reason, the principles of contemplation and initiative were given the most
significance and attention. Reason and rationality led individuals to question their surroundings, which
ultimately led to the Scientific Revolution. However, today we see an emphasis on different principles.
As the United States of America, we value courage and perseverance which are both necessary
principles when considering positive change and national pride.
Therefore, the principle of contemplation is no longer given significance in today s world. Americans
give greater value to fundamentals of courage due to pride and the need for a strong nation. We value
our heroes who serve in the military and fearless individuals who are constantly advocating for
change.
The central themes of the Age of Reason consisted of logic, questioning, rationality, and
contemplation. This

What Is Enterprise Acrhitecture Essay
What is Enterprise architecture?
Enterprise Architecture is the link between strategy and implementation. It is a top down view of the

Time to market.
Development can be speeded up and it also ensures that the selected solution is the best fit and allows
for future growth in response to the business needs.
It can also ensure that an organization is not tied to one particular vendor for a solution. Furthermore it
can reduce costs by removing multiple parallel systems with one integrated system. It can also
highlight opportunities for building greater quality and flexibility into applications without increasing
cost.
Finally, by looking at the business process it can identify new ways of thinking about how the process
can be improved which in turn could provide some competitive advantage.
The primary purpose of Enterprise Architecture is to inform, guide, and constrain the decisions for the
enterprise, especially those related to IT investments. The true challenge of enterprise engineering is to
maintain the architecture as a primary authoritative resource for enterprise IT planning. This goal is

Argumentative Synthesis Of President Obama
Gaibrielle Ruggs
Mrs. Yessick
ENG 101
16 November 2015
Argumentative Synthesis
President Barack Hussein Obama was the forty fourth president elected into office in 2008 and the
first United States president, under the constitution, of African descent. He has worked his way up
from the Illinois State Senate to the US Senate then officially sworn in as president on January 20,
2009. Considering his background in politics, logically, he should be a responsible, trustworthy
candidate for president yet that does not stand for his mentality of how to run a country. He has
portrayed himself as a person of significance by supporting the same sex marriage law, preventing the
unnecessary travel of oil and petroleum, and fighting for paid leave for company employees;
nevertheless, he has caused grief to appear in the families of war participants. Conversely, pre
presidency, Obama promised to end the war of American troops fighting in Afghanistan in the year
2014, he promised to direct revenues from oil drills to increase coastal protection, he also promised to
become a person who unites the American people; however, has this so called president kept any of
those promises or have they long been abandoned? As Barack Obama s second term comes to an end,
it is apparent that Obama is one of the most hypocritical presidents in American history.
On Friday, November 6, 2015, President Obama refused an agreement with a Canadian oil company
about building the Keystone XL oil

Essay on Personal Life
What would the world come to if people did not strive to help themselves? Would more be
accomplished or nothing at all? When is helping oneself self interest, and when is it rude and selfish?
How far does one have to go to not be selfish? In order to be not selfish, must a person spent all their
time giving to others? Is in a way giving to others even show selfishness? If that is true is it possible to
end selfishness? These questions do not have straight answers, and probably never will. Yet, to
understand the importance of self interest it is important to understand my opinion of the answers to
these questions.
Self interest is when people strive to help their condition, or themselves without implicating harm on
others. It causes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can easily be seen when the young athlete is suing their parents for stealing their money. This can
also be seen on any of the court television shows where people who were once the best of friends are
having an absolute brawl over a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. Which although it is a lot of
money, is not close to how priceless a good friendship is. Self interest will always benefit a country
while selfishness can only hurt it. Self interest motivates people to work harder, and if people work
harder it helps everyone around them. Selfishness is quite different from self interest because it inflicts
harm on people, while self interest will almost always help people achieve their goals.
Giving to others is an amazing thing to do. Yet, I do not feel it is something that should be
automatically expected of people. I think everyone must work hard to get money, and lead the life that
they want to live. With hard work comes profit. This profit that people make is used to pay off their
own bills, and then buy things they want for themselves. I think that people should take care of others
only after they take care of themselves. This does not mean never think of others. It just means that
why should one person have to work hard to earn a living, while another person receives free hand
outs.
I also feel that people give to others to help themselves feel good about themselves. There are

Difference Between Business Model And Strategy
Introduction: Business model is the word generally being confused with the strategy. In traditional
days, Organisations are confined to particular boundaries and used to operate in their own country of
origin. Strategies are placed for the success of the company. Due to the developments in technology
and global expansions of the business, a term called business model have been evolved to identify the
customer needs and the logic to transform those in to company s profit. So, this essay will show the
difference between business model and strategy and also how their alignments are going to impact the
firms performance. Literature Review: Strategy: Chandler (1962) defined strategy as The
determination of the basic long term goals and objectives of an enterprise, and the adoption of courses
of action and the allocation of resources for carrying out these goals . Strategy is related to long term
goals, policies and major issues of the business which determines the success or failure of the
organisation. In simple words, strategy is something which accomplishes the firm s goals. Strategy is
about being different from competitors by performing better (Magretta, 2002). A strategy of an
organisation should not be changed very often and should be planned for long term because strategy
needs a period of consolidation. Businesses follow strategy to have a competitive advantage over the
other firms in the market. According to Porter(1980) there are three generic strategies that

Essay On Illegal Immigration
There are millions of immigrants in the United States that are here illegally. Many immigrants are here
to both find a job and get an education, while others are here just to be here. Illegal immigrants should
not be able to cross the border whether they were granted citizenship or not. Undocumented
immigrants should not be rewarded with citizenship for breaking the immigration laws such as
crossing the border without a green card, and having false documentation to drive or work. There is a
proposed immigration reform and amnesty if passed that would secure our borders, improve our
immigration system, remove incentives that entered the country illegally, bring undocumented
immigrants out the shadows, and also work with Mexico to decrease illegal immigration. ... Show

One of the main points of the debate focus on the visa application process and how to address all of
the undocumented immigrants that is already in the United States. Many of the U.S citizens argue that
illegal immigrants take the good jobs, while others argue that they take the jobs most citizens are
unwillingly to take. Although some citizens think that the United States immigration system is in need
of a reform, others are satisfied with the level of immigration in the U.S. Even though the U.S has
granted amnesty to a lot of undocumented immigrants through different laws, the U.S should make
illegal immigrants pay for breaking the laws and having phony documents. As stated by President
Barack Obama, ...they are going to have to go to the back of the line...but they will have a pathway to

To his Coy Mistress and To the Virgins, To Make Much of Time
Carpe diem is a Latin term used in literature, the use of this term presses readers to seize the moment.
In the chosen poems, the authors mainly try to pursue women, by letting them know that they have
true physical beauty and should take advantage of their good looks while it lasts. The word carpe diem
impacts both poems, To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time by Robert Herrick, and To His Coy
Mistress by Andrew Marvell. In Herrick s poem, To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time, he describes
carpe diem by citing the shortness of life and by trying to persuade young women to marry and enjoy
their youth at its advantage before death. In the poem To His Coy Mistress , Marvell explains more
traits of carpe diem by persuading a certain woman in being his wife. To persuade her he used
examples of time and age fading her beauty and how it will leave her with nothing once they re gone.
Both poems compare to each other by persuading to seize moments before old age and beauty
disappears.
Herrick s To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time fits the meaning of carpe diem by encouraging the
beauty of youth and life itself. His calm and moralizing approach from the personal environment ...

Essay on Jane Eyre
Jane Eyre Challenging Victorian Beliefs
Charlotte Brontë challenges the view that men are emotionally, socially and intellectually superior to
women.
Just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God s feet, equal as we are!
The 19th century was a period of oppression for women. The patriarchal system that dominated the
Victorian period in England s history, was one during which Charlotte Brontë wrote and set the novel,
Jane Eyre. Brontë denounces the persecution that women suffered at the hands of a society that placed
faith in a belief that men were emotionally, socially and intellectually superior to Victorian women.

Jane refused to suppress her emotions and had an innate desire to show those who oppressed her how
she felt. Brontë instilled a belief in Jane that defied society which stated that it is far better to endure
patiently a smart which nobody feels but yourself, as expressed by Helen Burns. Brontë adhered to the
notion that women, like men, should not suffer from too rigid a restraint, in regard to their emotions.
Blanche was passionless, truth and tenderness were not in her she was the opposite of Jane. She acted
like Adelè; superficial, and much like a porcelain doll, pretty to look at but empty inside.
Brontë endorsed the view that a woman was not a machine without feelings . A woman in Victorian
society, who was not as brilliant as her jewels , experienced life without one bit of love or kindness .
This was a factor which Brontë believed might have led to the silent revolt of women against
Victorian society. The Chartist movement of the time was one when middle class people fought for
political representation and the ability to move up the social ladder. This desire for liberty also
impacted on women, due to their status as an oppressed social class.
Brontë also seems to believe that women need to do more than custom has pronounced necessary for
their sex, a belief which meant that she wanted women to defy the customs that they had been
enduring and do what they believed was best for

Abstract
SQL injections are the serious threat to the web applications; they permit attackers to acquire
unlimited access to the databases and sensitive data these databases contain. Despite the fact that
analysts and experts have proposed different strategies to address the SQL injection attacks. Many
solutions are able to solve only some of the issues related to it. This document provides the types ...

Because these vulnerabilities can provide access to the sensitive information, this can result in loss of
confidential data. In some cases, the attacker can take control the host web application by using SQL
injection.
Injection Techniques
a. Injection through user input: the attackers inject SQL statements by giving reasonably user input. A
web application can read user data based on the environment in which application is deployed. This
helps the attacker to get the user data directly from them.
b. Injection through cookies: Cookies are data sent from a website and stored on the client system. If
web applications access the cookies to establish SQL queries then an attacker can easily submit an
attack by combining it in cookie.
c. Injection through variables: Variables are the group that contains HTTP, network headers, and
environmental variables. If these variables are associated with the database without altering, this
creates SQL injection vulnerability.

The Influence Of Political Parties In The United States
At first, the constitution was for a non partisan president because it was intended to play the leading
institutional role in checking and controlling violence of faction that the framers feared would rend the
fabric of representative democracy (Nelson, 295). In the early nineteenth century, the president of the
United States is nominated by a party (Nelson, 296). The understanding of a solid relation between a
president and his party began to be understood and was implemented in the political parties that
whatever party a president was in. For example, Roosevelt was very keen at this that he demonstrated
a solid and aggressive partisan effort, and his effort on this put a different and progressed idea that was

role of political parties. Even Roosevelt tried to minimize the effect of political parties. It is interesting

Also, this action confronts to the American liberalism that the American Liberalism shifts to left. In
addition to this, George W. Bush and Barack Obama are considered to threaten the integrity of
political parties as collective organizations with a past and a future (Nelson, 329). On the contrast, I
would like to give an example on a president in here that he would be positive and has a good idea and
understanding of a perfect collaboration between a president and a political party. He is Bill Clinton.
The general election in 1992, Bill Clinton was very positive and worked hard with his party to make a

Essay Financial Markets Deregulate
Thanks to deregulation technological advances, Financial Markets are all interlinked. Funds can thus
be raised overseas, not only domestically.
Deregulation is the process by which rules and regulations are removed or reduced in order to make
markets increasingly efficient. The rationale behind this is that deregulation will promote
competitiveness, and therefore result in lower prices and a more efficient marketplace.
To realise the effect of deregulation and technological advances on financial markets, we first have to
understand what financial markets are. Basically, a financial market is a mechanism that allows people

With easy accessibility of the Internet, financial information can be disseminated quickly and hence
investors are able to make better informed decisions. This accessibility of information and
deregulation has encouraged foreign investments, and we can see the surge of new financial products
and an increase in financial innovation in the markets today. Stocks can now be dual listed, traded
across markets in two different countries. For example, many large Canadian companies are listed
both on the New York Stock Exchange as well as the Toronto Stock Exchange. There are also
Brazilian based companies listed on both the Brazilian and US stock markets. This adds greater
liquidity to the companies shares traded, and also gives investors more options as to where they can
trade.
The reduction of government restrictions has even allowed stock markets to take it one step further.
We hear of the Nasdaq owning 31% of the London Stock Exchange s (LSE) shares and talks of
acquiring it were in the works, but they have now decided to focus instead on taking over Sweden s
OMX AB. In late June this year, the LSE announced a merger with the Borsa Italiana SpA for $2.19
billion. One would never have heard of this happening had widespread deregulation not occurred.
In Singapore, the ability to trade stocks and shares has become easily accessible due to online trading.

Recrystallization Of Cinnamic Acid Lab Report
Brominated hydrocinnamic acid underwent an elimination reaction (E2) to produce cinnamic acid.
The goal of the elimination experiment was to remove the bromine and a hydrogen from brominated
cinnamic acid, using the strong base KOH, to produce crude cinnamic acid. The reaction is shown in
Scheme 1.
The crude cinnamic acid was dissolved then recrystallized. The goal for recrystallizing crude cinnamic
acid was to purify the acid and filter out any impurities. Recrystallization is one method used to purify
a compound. Using a hot solvent, the compound is dissolved. It is then cooled to produce pure
crystals. As the crystal develops, impurities are excluded from the crystal lattice, thereby completing
the purification process. 1 The key to recrystallization is the solvent used. The solute must be
relatively insoluble in the solvent at room temperature but much more soluble in the solvent at a
higher temperature. At the same time, impurities that are present must either be soluble in the solvent
at room temperature or insoluble in the solvent at a high temperature. 2 The solvent must be able to
dissolve the product and the impurities for recrystallization to take place. Once dissolved, the solution
cools first to room temperature before placing it in an ice bath, for gradual cooling is conducive to the
formation of large, well defined crystals. 2 Once cooled, the solution is placed into the ice bath to
further the recrystallization of the compound. The crystals are then

Comparison of X-Ray and Ultrasound
X rays and Ultrasound are two of the main imaging techniques used in radiography. For the purposes
of this essay, we will look at conventional x rays and diagnostic ultrasound. Conventional x rays are
non invasive diagnostic techniques that are used to capture images of the body s organs and bones.
Diagnostic ultrasounds are high frequency sound waves to create an image of soft issues in the body
such as muscles, joints, and internal organs. As examined below, while both are used in diagnostic
radiography, they have extremely different modalities.

Ultrasound relies on high frequency sounds to image the body. As stated above, ultrasound are
produced by an ultrasound transducer. To produce ultrasound, a piezoelectric crystal has an alternating
current applied across it, this causes the crystal to vibrate at a high speed and to produce ultrasound as
it converts electrical energy to mechanical energy in sound waves. This sound wave bounces off the
object being scanned. This sound triggers the piezoelectric crystal and has its affects reversed. By
measuring the time taken to send and receive the sound the computer can produce images. Ultrasound
poses no health risks while x rays give off varying degrees of radiation. Exposure to radiation can
have long term health although the rates are very low. There are many different usages for ultrasound.

The Great Civilization Of Athens
The plague of Athens led to the death and destruction of not only a mass of people, but the entire
civilization. This cataclysmic event that ended the great civilization of Athens has inspired countless
authors to write about it. Starting at the beginning of 431 BCE, historian Thucydides wrote his take on
it. In his work, The History of the Peloponnesian War, Thucydides discussed the social and political
consequences of the plague; a personal account on the experiences he lived through. Anywhere during
99 55 BCE, poet Lucretius had his work, On the Nature of the Universe, end with an account of the
Athenian plague. Lucretius s account was nearly an exact translation of Thucydides account, but
whereas Thucydides wrote historically and genuinely on his experiences on the plague, Lucretius left
certain things out and elaborated on others as he wrote it as part of natural phenomenon and laid out
his writing to tell, in a didactic poem, the mental experience of the Athenian people.
Thucydides was a historical writer who wrote his recollections on The History of the Peloponnesian
War. He began to write at the beginning of the war at 431, as he felt it deserved to be recorded and was
composed to be a lasting possession for all time. His writing was meant to help and show the future;
he wrote regarding the Athenian plague, so if another plague breaks out people may know in advance
and not be ignorant.
In Thucydides report, he talks about the plague, event by event.

The Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Since I was a kid I have been fascinated by the imaginary world where there are magic, mythical
creatures and the freedom of having power to do what you want. My preference was fading until the
movie Beautiful Creatures, a film adaptation for the first novel in the series The Caster Chronicles by
Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. When it hit the theater, I watched it and decided to read the next
novel in the series called Beautiful Darkness .
Published by Little, Brown on October 12, 2010, Beautiful Darkness is a 528 page young adult fantasy
and romance novel. The story continued with the recovering of two main characters, Ethan Wate, a
mortal and Lena Duchannes, a caster. Despite their different species, they fell in love the first time
they saw each other at Jackson High School, and confronted many challenges from Lena s malicious
mom, Sarafine Duchannes, and a family curse. Personally, I am a very selective reader, but it was such

Telling A False Statement On Voice Spectrum

The rationale of this project is to test and experiment on the idea that your voice spectrum is affected
when you lie, to gain further knowledge on how to prevent and detect liars. As human beings, most of
us lie more than we want to think we do. Lying is considered a wrong doing and given time to think
most liars recognize it, but some of the first concerns among humans is self preservation, self esteem,
and dodging consequences or dangerous situations. People lie verbally and nonverbally through body
language, facial expressions, etc. A person s voice can demonstrate aspects of their inner feelings
which can help researchers in recognizing cues in someone s voice towards their emotional state and
in making robots that have abilities to allow it to become constructive in our society, doing tasks like

Government s Plan Of Action
Government s Plan of Action to Secure Electricity Supply Energy, especially electricity, is important
for economic development. Electricity plays an important role toward economic growth as it is
essential in using pieces of equipment that are used in the manufacturing processes of various products
(ESMAP 8). The increasing population and expanding economy contribute to the increase in the
demand for electricity. Especially in summer, there are many people would like to stay at home with
the air conditioning on rather than having activities outdoors. Currently, China is the major consumer
of electricity because of the huge population and industrial demand. However, the electricity produced
in this country is not enough to supply its needs (Global Energy). The economic progress could not
pursue if there is insufficient amount of energy that any country could use. Electricity shortage can
happen if the available supply in an area cannot meet its demand. If this situation is prolonged, the
price of the electricity might increase. Different countries experience electricity shortages because of
the increasing demand for electricity. As the executive body of a nation, the government has
implemented other strategies to deal with the problem, such as energy saving methods and restriction
of electricity used. These two have their own advantages and disadvantages, but both have been
effective in resolving the electricity shortages. Restricting electricity use is an effective

  • 2. Orange Is The New Black Analysis From the very start of Orange is the New Black , creator Jenji Kohan has made it clear that gender identity and sexuality will feel like a normality in this series. Viewers are to forget what gender inequality is and see these characters as everyday people. Kohan breaks the rules of traditional male gaze and phallocentric cinema. These characters are not your typical females. Kohan flips the switch by setting this series in a women s correctional facility. Up until the last few centuries, female characters in film and television have been portrayed in a softer light. They are supposed to be pretty and clean the house and take the kids to school. Those days are over. We are now spectators to characters such as Olivia Pope from the series ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... female dynamic. We see correctional officer Mendez vs. female prisoner Dayanara, female warden Natalie vs. male staff manager Joe Caputo, ex fiancé Larry vs. recently imprisoned Piper, and tons of other accounts. In the Orange is the New Black world, the females are the bad guys and the males are the good guys.(Chen) As a spectator, we view them in the completely opposite position. We are drawn to the stories and the lives of the women in this prison. We feel for them and want to help them. The men, on the other hand, have the disadvantage in this series. They are the enemy. This may seem uncomfortable for some male spectators.(Goldrich) There could be less likelihood for men to enjoy this series. But what were Jenji s intentions in having all these gender battles? Is this her way of showing opposition or does she really just not like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, this book is mainly emphasizing the magic relations between the capitalism and current environmental problems. In the other words, while there are some people who argued that the capitalism thinking is necessarily required for addressing all of the problem, not just environmental ones, human are encountering the authors argued for the opposite side of that, especially in terms of such all of environmental issues that the authors have listed in chapter one as rapid speed of the melting glacier, ocean acidification due to the increase in carbon dioxide emissions, loss of biodiversity, ground water pollution and deplete, changed natural land pattern (p. 14), the capitalism instead is a rooted problem that makes these environmental issues worse. Following that, the authors gave the enough amounts of evidences explaining why capitalism thinking changed the way in which people lived from getting natural resources for their basic necessity to unlimited calling for the never enough for luxury life. Same Love by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis does exactly this. The song was written in 2013 during legalization of same sex marriage in the state of Washington. The song not only reached the lives of those in Washington but reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs in the United States and number 1 in New Zealand and Australia. Taking a closer look at the lyrcis, the audience can see Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are not just making money off of the song, they are grasping the lives of many in each chorise for example Macklemore s opening line, When I was in the third grade I thought that I was gay, because I could draw, my uncle was and I kept my room straight. Emphasis that homosexuality is defined as a way of living, as a way one acts. That because his room is clean and he can draw, automatically makes society see a homosexual. Millions of people around the world would be able to understand on a very real level what it means to be gay in society. Not only is it reaching these people but its awakening them to a more realist point of music, to reach the audience no matter what the subject, no one in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mesoscale Convective Systems Mesoscale convective systems (MCSs) are defined as any group of thunderstorms producing a contiguous precipitation area on the order of 100 km or more in horizontal scale in at least one direction and can be both linear and circular in nature (Markowski and Richardson 2010). Linear MCSs are also known as quasi linear convective systems (QLCS) or squall lines. QLCS also encompass bow echoes and line echo wave patterns (LEWPs). QLCSs are organized lines of convection that commonly occur over portions of the United States (Trapp et al. 2005), and can produce all forms of severe weather, including hail, strong straight line winds, and occasionally can spawn tornadoes (Smith et al. 2012). Trapp et al. (2005) found that about 18% of all tornadoes in the US are associated with QLCSs. The development of the QLCS is dependent upon the storm produced cold pool and the environmental shear. As the jet behind the line of storms descends and strengthens, it pushes forward a segment of the convective line, creating a bow echo (Figure 2.2). This portion of the bow is typically considered a highly favorable area for tornadogenesis along a QLCS, and these tornadoes usually occur on the cold side of the gust front (Fujita 1978, Trapp and Weisman 2003 Part II). In many instances, tornadoes associated with QLCSs will not exhibit any definitive characteristics suggesting the presence of a tornado. Lewis in his writings on faith and reasoning there are inherent ideals that when becoming a Christian are understood. Prior to belief, a person s deeper meaning of faith cannot be understood. Unbelievers can only have a certain amount of trust in that faith; however, it is purely practical on the part of the non Christian. God s way is a moral path, it will take effort, resolve and reason to maneuver your way through this life. Faith is rational; whereas, our hearts can be emotional and deceitful. In Jeremiah 17:9, it states the heart can be wicked and sick, and that can cause us to doubt our faith and lead us to not know what truth is. Reason is what we can lean back into with the grace of faith to show us the truth. Lewis continues throughout his text to points out that with faith in God; as you might expect, good works will follow. Moods and failure will come, thus making it harder to sometimes just take a leap of faith; or in turn, to remove intellectual obstacles to have faith in God. In fact according to the Institute of Medicine 116 million United States adults live with chronic pain. The majority of these adults do not seem to receive the adequate treatment needed to help them to cope or to treat their pain. This is primarily due to the physicians not being able to efficiently diagnose their patients, and or the physicians lack the knowledge of the best ways to help manage the pain their patients are experiencing. This is why most people believe that Physicians are the main cause for the rise of prescription drug abuse (Garcia, 2013). The feeling one gets when they take pain medicine while they are not in pain can make one want to always feel that way. Taking painkillers can cause dreamy feelings. One relates that feeling with the suppressed emotions that they feel while on the painkillers and then they start to chase that feeling. This is another way that people get drawn in by painkillers and can be the start of their addiction (Wood, 2014). The Effects Of The Child Beauty Pageant The Negative Effects of the Child Beauty Pageant By: Pamela Wingate English Composition 2 Individual Assignment 5 May 28, 2015 Abstract This paper will explore the negative effects that a beauty pageant has on a child. While many people think that these pageants are an overall good experience for any child this paper contains and explores research paper that will outline the negative effects these pageants have on the children in them, some of them being long term effects. Some of these effects include mental anguish that is formed from children being in these contests and the effects the pageants have on a family as a whole. Next, in his work about the Holy Trinity, Augustine wrote about how the Holy Trinity was one substance, including the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, and not separate. This does not, however, make three gods or three creators. The Father, the Son and the Spirit are each one Person, and any person affirms himself for himself (De Trin, VII, 11). Just like Zeus, Poseidon and Hades, there was Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates. These philosophers, Plato and Aristotle were philosophers in ancient Greece who studied ethics, politics, science, and more. Both Aristotle and Plato had their own beliefs about moral philosophy, but Aristotle s is more convincing. Aristotle was born in 384 B.C. Stagira, a town that was north of Athens, and was one of the greatest thinkers who ever lived. When he got older he decided to enroll in Plato s Academy, where for two decades he did his research and taught others. His work contributed to logic, mathematics, physics, ethics, and many more. He was in fact Plato s student whom both studied under Socrates. He was told by Philip of Macedonia to tutor his thirteen year old son who later on became one of the greatest military minds in history, Alexander the Great. Even today all of his work is the starting point of any discussion that involves logic and ethics. All of Aristotle s research made him come up with his own moral philosophy. He believed that everything in this world has a purpose, or telos . To achieve our telos human beings have to gain experience by achieving traits, also known as virtues. Essay on Women Don t Exist in Their Own Right in the Play In the time `Hamlet was performed, the Elizabethan audience would not have believed in equality for women, so the play seems far more sexist to us, the modern audience, than it ever would have to the Elizabethans. In our lifetimes women are viewed as equals to men, women can have a job and don t have to take orders from the men in their family. As Paul Thomas says in `Authority and Disorder in Tudor times , `It would seem that the least dignified, that of uncomplicated submission in a brutally male world, was a standard and sensible policy for most females for most of the time . He did write for male entertainment and it would be historically incorrect to regard his as a feminist. Therefore, in order to discuss the question, we need to take it apart and consider what it actually means. When we say `exist , what exactly do we mean? In my opinion the way the female characters, Ophelia and Gertrude, in `Hamlet exist, is the way in which they live, the way they are viewed by others in the play, and the way would be perceived by us, or the Elizabethan audience. We have to see exactly who the male characters are, and the different parts they play. In addition, this essay will attempt to discover exactly how Shakespeare used Ophelia and Gertrude for the plot, and consider if they exist in their own right or as the title expresses, as simply `extensions of the male characters. Gertrude and Ophelia are very feminine characters in `Hamlet , by this I mean they typify the Elizabethan ideal of a woman, and both are condemned in some way (for being women) by the male characters. It could be suggested from the `closet scene that Hamlet is jealous of his mother s new husband. Liz Lewis says Gertrude `transgresses the patriarchal bounds of femininity by marrying so soon ... In traditional days, Organisations are confined to particular boundaries and used to operate in their own country of origin. Strategies are placed for the success of the company. Due to the developments in technology and global expansions of the business, a term called business model have been evolved to identify the customer needs and the logic to transform those in to company s profit. So, this essay will show the difference between business model and strategy and also how their alignments are going to impact the firms performance. Literature Review: Strategy: Chandler (1962) defined strategy as The determination of the basic long term goals and objectives of an enterprise, and the adoption of courses of action and the allocation of resources for carrying out these goals . Strategy is related to long term goals, policies and major issues of the business which determines the success or failure of the organisation. In simple words, strategy is something which accomplishes the firm s goals. Strategy is about being different from competitors by performing better (Magretta, 2002). To his Coy Mistress and To the Virgins, To Make Much of Time Carpe diem is a Latin term used in literature, the use of this term presses readers to seize the moment. In the chosen poems, the authors mainly try to pursue women, by letting them know that they have true physical beauty and should take advantage of their good looks while it lasts. The word carpe diem impacts both poems, To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time by Robert Herrick, and To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvell. In Herrick s poem, To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time, he describes carpe diem by citing the shortness of life and by trying to persuade young women to marry and enjoy their youth at its advantage before death. In the poem To His Coy Mistress , Marvell explains more traits of carpe diem by persuading a certain woman in being his wife. To persuade her he used examples of time and age fading her beauty and how it will leave her with nothing once they re gone. Just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God s feet, equal as we are! The 19th century was a period of oppression for women. The patriarchal system that dominated the Victorian period in England s history, was one during which Charlotte Brontë wrote and set the novel, Jane Eyre. Brontë instilled a belief in Jane that defied society which stated that it is far better to endure patiently a smart which nobody feels but yourself, as expressed by Helen Burns. Brontë adhered to the notion that women, like men, should not suffer from too rigid a restraint, in regard to their emotions. Blanche was passionless, truth and tenderness were not in her she was the opposite of Jane. She acted like Adelè; superficial, and much like a porcelain doll, pretty to look at but empty inside. Brontë endorsed the view that a woman was not a machine without feelings . A woman in Victorian society, who was not as brilliant as her jewels , experienced life without one bit of love or kindness . This was a factor which Brontë believed might have led to the silent revolt of women against Victorian society. The Chartist movement of the time was one when middle class people fought for political representation and the ability to move up the social ladder. This desire for liberty also impacted on women, due to their status as an oppressed social class. Brontë also seems to believe that women need to do more than custom has pronounced necessary for their sex, a belief which meant that she wanted women to defy the customs that they had been enduring and do what they believed was best for ... In some cases, the attacker can take control the host web application by using SQL injection. Injection Techniques a. Injection through user input: the attackers inject SQL statements by giving reasonably user input. A web application can read user data based on the environment in which application is deployed. This helps the attacker to get the user data directly from them. b. Injection through cookies: Cookies are data sent from a website and stored on the client system. If web applications access the cookies to establish SQL queries then an attacker can easily submit an attack by combining it in cookie. c. Deregulation is the process by which rules and regulations are removed or reduced in order to make markets increasingly efficient. • 30. Recrystallization Of Cinnamic Acid Lab Report Brominated hydrocinnamic acid underwent an elimination reaction (E2) to produce cinnamic acid. The goal of the elimination experiment was to remove the bromine and a hydrogen from brominated cinnamic acid, using the strong base KOH, to produce crude cinnamic acid. The reaction is shown in Scheme 1. The crude cinnamic acid was dissolved then recrystallized. The goal for recrystallizing crude cinnamic acid was to purify the acid and filter out any impurities. Recrystallization is one method used to purify a compound. Using a hot solvent, the compound is dissolved. It is then cooled to produce pure crystals. As the crystal develops, impurities are excluded from the crystal lattice, thereby completing the purification process. 1 The key to recrystallization is the solvent used. The solute must be relatively insoluble in the solvent at room temperature but much more soluble in the solvent at a higher temperature. At the same time, impurities that are present must either be soluble in the solvent at room temperature or insoluble in the solvent at a high temperature. 2 The solvent must be able to dissolve the product and the impurities for recrystallization to take place. Once dissolved, the solution cools first to room temperature before placing it in an ice bath, for gradual cooling is conducive to the formation of large, well defined crystals. 2 Once cooled, the solution is placed into the ice bath to further the recrystallization of the compound. The crystals are then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
