The Republic Of Turkey s Health Care System
The Republic of Turkey has gone to great lengths to transform their health care system to reflect the
goals of the government, to make the health care system a vision of the 21st century and to provide

Bricks During The Neolithic Era
In the Neolithic Period, 8000 BC, tools and metal weaponry like smelting and casting were being
brought about. This immensely improved how impactful weaponry was. After metalworking got
introduced, the people could protect themselves in a more efficient way. Bricks were another form of
technological advancement during the Neolithic Period. In their simplest form (still familiar today in
many hot regions), bricks are shaped by pressing mud or clay into a mould. The damp blocks are then
left to bake hard in the sun. Bricks of this kind are known in Jericho from about 8000 BC. Spinning
along with and knitting also was invented during this time and it was one of the first cultural aspects
brought about. It was one of the first jobs classified

How Is Grendel An Outsider
Grendel probably one of the best known outsiders in the literature world. He is portrayed in the poem
Beowulf as being an evil monster with no feelings that just wants to kill humans (for no good reason).
He is known as a demon that live in the swampland (where no light shines). Grendel even attacked the
great mead hall of the Danes, killing many people (even eating them at some points) for years and
years. This leads to the Danes living in fear of Grendel. Until he is later killed by Beowulf. A different
side of this story is told in Grendel, by John Gardner which is a more recent piece of literature written
in 1971. In this story Grendel is described as being the outsider that has be outcast by the whole
village. His appearance doesn t

Path Toward Success

changes in the lifestyle. Immense range of new and innovative ways of living take part in everyday
operations, which lead to increased expectations and experiences from the people, especially in

Li Jen amp; Lockwood (2006) suggest that listening and recognizing of employees preferences and

developing the skills and knowledge, as well as adding more and different tasks, contribute to the
expectations of the people in workplace. Baruch (2004) advocates that for an individual having the
element of multi options at the disposal, promotes a successful career path. The discussed essentials
were mainly autonomy, independence, and a healthy balance between life and work. In addition,
HayGroup (2001, as cited in Bharwani amp; Butt, 2012) state that tangible rewards largely contribute
towards the employee engagement. If the employer is able to offer recognition in terms of salary or
bonuses, people are more likely to be attracted to stay. It is further suggested that leadership and the
way in which it is presented to the employee, plays an important role in maintaining the employee s

The Great Depression Of 1929 Vs. The Great Recession Of 2008
The Great Depression of 1929 Vs. The Great Recession of 2008
In America there have been great economic struggles and triumphs. The many great leaders of this
country have foraged, failed, and overcome some very difficult times. Comparing the Great
Depression of 1929 and the Great Recession of 2008 has revealed similarities that by learning from
our mistakes in 1929 could have prevented the latest recession. I will discuss the causes of the Great
Depression and the Great Recession, and what policies were implemented to reverse the economic
downfalls. The Great Depression of 1929 is said to have many causes. In an article on about.com
Martin Kelly states there were five main causes of the Great Depression. First is the stock market

Total unemployment rose from just over three percent in 1929 to just over twenty five percent in 1933,
and did not increase back up to just over seventeen percent in 1939. By 1933 wages had fallen in
every industry, with construction being affected the worst, where wages had dropped by half. Wages
in 1933 were twenty five percent lower than in 1929. These decreases in wages caused decreases in
purchasing across the board. Durable and nondurable sales alike decreased. Nondurable goods fell by
forty one percent, where durable goods suffered the most and declined by sixty two percent. In the
midst of the depression farmers also had a difficult time where usually they would have been able to
survive. Unfortunately, the Great Plains were hit hard with both a drought and dust storms. The dust
storms destroyed everything in their paths, leaving farmers without their crops. Small farmers were hit
the hardest. Even before the dust storms hit, the invention of the tractor drastically cut the need for
manpower on farms. The small farms were usually already in debt, borrowing money for seed and
paying it back when their crops came in. When the dust storms damaged the crops, not only could the
small farmer not feed himself or his family, he could not pay back his debt. Banks would foreclose on
the farms and the farmer and his family would be both homeless and unemployed. Millions of people
were out of work across the United States. Many people hit the road

The Scottish and International Film Industry s Contribution to the Development of Scottish Identity in
the Last Part of the Twentieth Century
When people hear the word Scotland there is, as said by C McArthur (2003:59) Diverse images and
narratives right down to particular words and phrases that immediately come into their head . These
images may it be of tartan, misty landscapes, bagpipes or castles contribute to how Scotland is
portrayed and create what is known as a Scottish identity. There is a continuing debate on whether
Scottish identity actually exists or is it as argued by H T Roper 1 an Eighteenth Century invention . By

D Bruce explains that these stereotypical images represent Scotland (1996:6). These images have built
a picture of Scotland popular with tourists from all over the world.
When looking at films that represent Scottish identity the list is not exhaustive and although the
question is with regards to the later half of the Twentieth century there were films made early that also
made a contribution. These should be mentioned for example Bonnie Scotland (1935), The Face of
Scotland (1938), Whisky Galore (1949) and Brigadoon (1954). In more recent years there are again
several films to consider these include Rob Roy (1995), Braveheart (1995) Trainspotting (1996) and
Shallow Grave (1994). A review of a few of these films contribution to the development of Scottish
Identity follows.
In 1937 The Films of Scotland Committee was set the task of producing a series of films for the 1938
Glasgow Empire Exhibition, by Walter Elliot the then Secretary of State for Scotland. The prime aim
of the films was to promote the Scottish Nation. One of these seven* films was The Face of Scotland
(1938) The 14 minute black and white documentary set out to ask the question What and why is the
Scot? (Hardy 1990:44) by showing a brief history of Scotland with clips of Borders landscape, hills

Children s Impact On Children Essay
Introduction
Children are one of the vulnerable section of the society and victims of different kinds of exploitation.
All the atrocities, instability in the society directly and indirectly make impact on children. Children in
armed conflict one of such group in the society who is vulnerable and prone to many exploitation. The
relationship of the child with war can be categorised into two. One is children are impacted by the war
by losing their shelter, their identity their family and the rights. Second they are involved in the war in
the form of child soldiers by force. When a war or conflict take place all the thing surrounded with the
place where the conflict happened will be get disturbed all the people living or related to that
particular place get affected. The severe effects will be suffered by the children in that place as they
are the most vulnerable section. The internationally agreed definition for a child associated with an
armed force or armed group (child soldier) is any person below 18 years of age who is, or who has
been, recruited or used by an armed force or armed group in any capacity, including but not limited to
children, boys and girls, used as fighters, cooks, porters, messengers, spies or for sexual purposes. It
does not only refer to a child who is taking or has taken a direct part in hostilities.

It is a natural tendency for people to assume that they are smarter than people that are younger than
they are. It is widely thought that with age, comes more knowledge, and a better understanding of the
world. However, this thinking can t be used as a broad statement for entire generations of people.
While there certainly are older people that are much wiser than younger people, this fact doesn t mean
that younger generations as a whole are dumb. With the knowledge and discoveries made by previous
generations at the disposal of younger generation s, the young people of today are smarter than ever.
Many people state the claim that because the students of today aren t able to memorize certain facts as

People claim that new developments have caused kids to be so dependent on their devices, that they
can t think for themselves. This claim can also be turned around by saying that technology has given
kids more opportunities and chances to learn, and in particular, more opportunities to write (Source 7,
Clive Thompson). An example of this is a study done at Stanford University, where it was discovered
that Stanford students did a stunning 38 percent of their writing outside of the classroom (Source 7,
Clive Thompson). With the developments of E mail, texting, and social media such as Twitter,
Facebook, and Instagram, younger people are constantly writing in their every day lives. In the past,
people would, for the most part, stop writing once the finishes their education. Now however, people
are more comfortable, and more used to, writing. And while the argument that technology has
decreased level of the vocabulary and vernacular of young people is true in some cases, the increase in
writing shown by young people has led to a greater ability to convey information to other people, and
a greater comfort in talking to people they don t know (Source 7, Clive Thompson). As Andrea

The Death Of Hektor And The Destruction Of Troy
The death of Hektor and the destruction of Troy were solely caused by his own pride. His refusal to
the surrender, which would protect him and most importantly the whole town of Troy, demonstrated
his unimaginable selfish behavior. Instead of protecting Troy, Hektor, without hesitation, picked to
fight in order to prove his superiority. . This is an example of how one s life can be demolished if pride
and honor is prioritized. Hektor acquiesced his whole life to a strong desire for honor, which was
implanted in his head by his parents. Oppositions towards my personal beliefs are made by associates
from church. Very Slavic beliefs are still heavily implied in the surrounding society and the tendency
for Russian people to stick together and then establish similar views increases. .
Relying on the support of others, emphasis isn t placed on the careers of my friends. Females rely on
males for financial support, thus losing their independence. The man is the main provider and source
of income in the house , is a common Slavic belief that restricts the actions of women. The common
role of women is to spend time at home raising the children that is why a career is irrelevant. In many
ways, it is considered wrong and embarrassing if a female is more financially stable than a male.
There is a common belief stating that marriage is the highlight of one s life. Marriage is considered
something honorable and hard to achieve, which is why some will go to such extent as to

Analytical Essay on the Score of Psycho
Analytical Essay on the Score of Psycho The man behind the low woodwinds that opens Citizen Kane
and the high pitched violins of Psycho (1960). Bernard Herrmann was one of the most original and
distinctive composers ever to work in film. He started early, winning a composition prize at 13 and
founding his own orchestra at 20. After writing scores for Orson Welles radio shows in the 1930s
(including the notorious 1938 War of the Worlds broadcast), he was the obvious choice to score Welles
film debut, Citizen Kane (1941), and subsequently Magnificent Ambersons, The (1942), though he

Repeated rhythmic patterns were of course well known to the improvising pianists and organists of the
silent film days the vamp till ready technique. They had also became an idiosyncratic element of the
highly original classical music of Janacek. we don t know whether Herrmann was ever familiar with
Janacek s music, but his rhytmic techniques presaged those used by minimalist compsers several
decades later. Herrmann s also developed a use of harmony that was particularly suited to film. It is no
accident that he was the composer for some of Alfred Hitchcock s greatest films. He made strong use
of augmented chords which provided a certain unease. However, he particular used overlapping
harmonies that left a scene feeling unresolved ideal for building tension in the storytelling of a thriller.
Tensions was produced by overlapping harmonies and their ability to help build a powerful climax .
His orchestrations are inventive and chosen to underline the atmosphere of the film. At times, he
deliberately limits his palette, as in Psycho. At other times, he calls on highly unusual forces as in (his
unused music to) Marnie. The film score did not need to tie itself to the forces of the 19th century
symphony orchestra. It also did not have to follow the constraints of an acoustic performance. Some
instruments could be miked up and others miked down . This added a new tool for

Case 9.12 describes the actions of Lee Ward at a work conference. Lee Ward was not liked by many
colleagues and spent much of his time finding ways to cause problems for them. He was a jealous man
and felt that it was necessary to embarrass his co workers. While at a conference, he found himself in
a position that allowed him to take photographs of a group outing. His excuse was that the photos
would be used for the company s newsletter. He was also taking personal photos of a female co
worker named Janice without anyone s knowledge. Janice found out about the photos a while after

(Gerdelman, 2014). Ward s photography did not infringe on Janice s personal matters. The
photographs were taken on public property, so no trespassing laws were violated. It also appears that
Lee Ward s motives did not benefit anyone. The photographs were merely taken out of the personal
enjoyment of making someone uncomfortable. No good could come out of taking the photographs.
Lee Ward s actions were for personal gain and his intentions were not good in nature. This allows us
to conclude that his decision to take the photographs was unethical. Janice broke no rules in the case.
She also did nothing to solve the issue at hand. She made the decision to drop the problem because of
her fear that there would be repercussions. She knew more about Ward than Errol did and felt that if
either of them did anything, it would result in Ward acting out again. Ultimately causing even more

Persuasive Essay On Commitment In Love
You are a man eater, right? You are a fun lay, a good night, but commitment is not for you. You are
fierce independence and unavailability. You prefer your own company because, you annoy yourself,
but when you re alone at least no one else has that power. When did this become who you are? Did
you get hurt? A million times? Just once? Was that too much for your heart made of tender flesh?
What made you this person? Are you afraid? Are you just terrified because you fall in love with
someone the instant they do anything that makes your heart drop? To combat the possible pain, you
swear you do not love anyone or anything at all. If you cannot be the person who does not get
heartbroken once a week then you are going to be the person who does not have a heart to break.
Cold exterior, dark edge, you never let anyone closer than ten feet to you. You maintain your mystery
and posterity by making sure no one ever crosses you. The best way to do that is by establishing your
firm no bull policy early. God knows you are terrified. You want to be the person with your heart on
your sleeve. You would love to be someone who believes in the sentiment of it is better to have loved
and lost than never loved at all but you cannot bring yourself to do it. You cannot handle the
destruction. You cannot bear the weight of having to rebuild yourself every single time. You cannot
carry the cross of your own fragility.
People ask about why you are like this. They ask why you haven t found anyone. You say something
like my standards are just really high. On some level, that is absolutely true. You will not let just
anyone in, if you are going to stop shooting them down before they have a chance, they really have to
be something special. The problem is not that you do not let just anyone in, you just do not let anyone
in.
The scary part about being a damaged heart is that when you meet someone new, your defenses are at
an all time high. Constantly on ready to run, always testing to see if they can handle your damage. You
push away before anyone has a chance to get close. Some make it, though. It takes a while but you
start to believe them when they say they are there to stay. You tell them you are a storm and they say
they love

How Does Media Affect Body Image
Body image is how a person feels about their physical appearance. Someone with a negative body
image has a distorted view of his or her body and often feels shame, anxiety and are more likely to
suffer from low self esteem and depression. People with a poor body image have a greater chance of
developing an eating disorder. Which then can lead to drastic changes of their bodies using dangerous
methods such as plastic surgeries and severe eating disorders in order to meet societal ideals. Today
people feel that present ideals are pressuring them to conform, in any way possible to get the ideal
body, these pressures cause body dissatisfaction and self esteem issues. The media is causing body
image issues due to the lack of diversity and realistic body representation, when exposed to western
media young people are more likely to have eating disorders, participate in fad diets, or drastically
change their bodies with plastic surgeries. The ideal woman s body type has taken many forms, but
these fads show that ideals change with the eras. These ideals are directly influenced by society, art
and media. When trends changed it typically was replaced by thinner body shapes causing the
introduction of methods of weight controls. Before Photoshop, women in the late 1800s used to corset
their bodies to get the ideal shape, which then was fuller figured but a ridiculously tight corseted

Taking a Look at Lipoproteins
Lipoproteins are multicomponent assemblies of lipids and proteins that form distinct molecules with
an approximate stoichiometric value between the lipid and protein components within the complex.
Lipoproteins exist with many types each with a specific molecular mass, size, density, physiological
role, and chemical composition.(devlin,57) The lipids and their derivatives may be covalently or non
covalently bound to the proteins. Lipoproteins show biodiversity in their forms, many enzymes,

The Importance Of The Monster In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, the Monster might be incorrectly named when most people think of
monsters, they think of creatures that are inherently bad. The Monster, however, experienced emotions
like any human did and was even repulsed at thoughts of death and destruction; events throughout the
story shaped the Monster into the murder he became. The Monster also encountered books that
developed his pessimistic worldview and hatred of humanity, including Ruins of Empires, Paradise
Lost, The Sorrows of Young Werther, and Plutarch s Lives. The characters and events in these books
were partially responsible for the Monster s belief that he would never be accepted by any human. If
he had read some more optimistic works with characters he could relate to, perhaps he would have
developed into a different character.
Ruins of Empires is the first book that the Monster is exposed to; he listens as Felix reads and explains
the book to Safie, who is visiting the cottage. Written by C.F. Volney, Ruins of Empires is a general
history book that discusses the rise and fall of ancient empires as well as their numerous conflicts, and
it gives the Monster his first impression of not only history, but humanity. The Monster states that he
initially wondered why a human would ever kill its fellow; after listening to Ruins of Empires, he has
a much better understanding of the true nature of humanity. As he listens, he wonders if humans are at

How Has Society Changed Over The Old Years
Have you ever thought about how many things have altered from only one generation to another? The
things that come to my mind when I think of the old days is how different the place and community
the last generation grew up in was. It definitely wasn t as dangerous or protected as our world is today.
The kids back then had more freedom and trust in their communities because of the parenting, society,
and people s views on different things. The first thing that I feel has changed from the last generation
to now, is parenting. My mom has told me so many stories about how her parents have just let her do
most of what she wanted while growing up. She was able to walk down to gas stations by herself at
the age of only 7. My dad told me when his family used to go get wood, his parents would let him ride
on top of the wood stack going fast down twisting, bumpy roads. Both of their parents had done this
with no worries. They trusted the way the world was and how the people were back then. Now days,
our parents are worried about everything. They want to know exactly where you are at and who you re
with all the time. I feel like parents have a hard time trusting people because of all the things people
do now.

primarily a film about soccer. Jesminder Bhamra, nicknamed Jess, comes into conflict with her family,
especially her mother, over her love of soccer. Unfortunately, her parents have more traditional ideas
about her future. Jess parents, Mr. and Mr. Bharma, immigrated to Britain before their children were
born. They want their daughters to be proper Indian girls. And they don t like Jess to play football. She
meets Juliette Jules Paxton, who encourages her to join her team, the Hounslow Harriers. Jesminder
accepts her invitation and joins the team despite the wishes of her mother. The situation with her
family is further complicated because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Or What family would want a daughter in law who can run around kicking a football all day, but can t
make round chapattis? her mother asks. Jess is supposed to stay covered up and not running around
half naked in front of men. According to Interaction and the Conservation of Gender Inequality:
Considering Employment, by Cecilia L. Ridgeway , it s well documented that currently accepted
gender stereotypes incorporate assumptions of men s greater status value; that is, men s traits are
generally viewed as more valuable than women s and men are diffusely judged as more competent
(221). However, if Jess was a boy a lot of these pressures and dilemmas wouldn t exist. Jules is
expected to be like all the other girls. We see this when Paula encourages Jules to buy girly bras
instead of sports bras and tries to persuade her to be more feminine. They both are expected to be
focused on finding a boyfriend or husband.
Moreover, Jess, as an Indian, faces has even more problems to deal with. Firstly, she is expected to
just to marry an Indian guy, not a white or Muslim guy. Cooking is the second important thing shown
in this film. According to feminist philosopher Uma Narayan, cooking is especially emblematic of
Indian culture; therefore a proper Indian woman should know how to cook. (Quoted in McClain 712).
Mrs. Bhamra is an excellent example of ideal Indian femininity

Estella Manipulation
In Great Expectation, written by Charles Dickens, the author identifies the struggles of social status
and prestige as the theme of the book. Additionally, how social status and wealth create great
expectations. Through this theme the author uses a superior and blunt character like Estella Havisham
to convey this idea. Estella is the stimulation or catalyst that causes, Pip formally known as Phillip
Pirrip, the main character to care about social status and causes his attitude to change. In Great
Expectations, Estella is described as proud and refine (285) and is seen as a cold creature through the
indoctrinate of her mother, to avenge all men. Without the characterization of Estella in Great

Hamlet Vs Laertes
Claudius and Laertes developed an alliance towards the end of the novel to murder Hamlet. Both
characters had distinct motivations to plot against Hamlet. In the novel, Hamlet the theme of revenge
is crucial to the plot. Throughout the novel, many different characters believed they could repair the
damage of someone else s actions through revenge. For instance, Laertes wanted to seek revenge on
Hamlet similar to Hamlet s desire to kill Claudus. Both Hamlet and Laertes lost their fathers due to
murder and felt it was their duty to find out who killed their father and seek revenge.
Laertes is emotionally shattered after learning that his father was murdered. After Laertes discovers
the news, he announces, And so have I a noble father lost, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Claudius is guilty for murdering King Hamlet: Hamlet was able to confirm this information by having
actors reenact the death of King Hamlet during a scene of their play. After Claudius discovers that
Hamlet killed Polonius, he knows that Hamlet is capable of murder and becomes fearful that Hamlet
will kill him. After Polonius dies, Claudius says I have sent to seek him and find the body. How
dangerous is it that this man goes lose! (4, 3, 1 2 ). Although Claudius sounds like he cares about the
safety of the citizens of Elsinore, he is more concerned about his own safety, since he is guilty of
killing King Hamlet. O heavy deed! It had been so with us, had we been there. His liberty is full of
threats to all To you yourself, to us, to everyone (4, 1, 13 16). King Claudius makes an effort to
include himself into his remark that Hamlet is dangerous and can pose a threat to not only the town
but to himself. Claudius motivation for killing Hamlet is for his own protection and safety because he
believes that Hamlet is a threat. Another major factor of Claudius motivation to kill Hamlet could be
that he is defending his innocence when accused of killing Polonius. Laertes immediately assumes that
Claudius was responsible for his father s death when he came back from France. Once Laertes
believes that Claudius is innocent, Claudius uses this opportunity to take advantage of Laertes

Boeing s Strategy
The Capital Assets Price Model (CAPM), is a model for pricing an individual security or a portfolio.
Its basic function is to describe the relationship between risk and expected return, which is often used
to estimate a cost of equity (Wikipedia, 2009). It serves as a model for determining the discount rate
which is used in calculating net present value. The CAPM says that the expected return of a security
or a portfolio equals the rate on a risk free security plus a risk premium. The formula is:
R = Rf + *(E(Rm) Rf) Rf = Risk free rate of return, usually U.S. treasury bonds ( ) β = Beta for a
company E(Rm) = Expected return of the market (commercial airlines market) E(Rm) Rf =

There are two formulas to calculate the weight of debt and equity as show below:
Debt/Equity=0.525 (D/E=0.525)
Debt+Equity=1 (D+E=1); D=1 E
Using the second formula substituting back into the first equation and the result is 1 E/E=0.525, so
through calculating this equation, it can indicate that E is 0.656 and D is 1 0.656=0.344. The Boeing s
capital structure is that the weight of debt is 34.4% and the weight of equity is 65.6%.
From this case, it gives a well known formula how to finance Boeing s weighted average cost of
capital (WACC), it shows below:
WACC= (percent Debt) (Pretax cost of debt capital) (1 Marginal effective corporate tax rate) +
(percent Equity) (Cost of equity capital)
In previous calculation, it already know the percent Debt is 34.4%, percent Equity is 65.6%, Cost of
equity capital is 11.088% and in this case gives Marginal effective corporate tax rate is 35%. So it
only just to calculate cost of Debt. The cost debt is the interest rate or yield that a firm must pay on its
bonds. In this case, it uses weighted average yield to maturity to calculate cost of debt. Through the
form of EXHIBIT 11 and using two column debt amount and yield to maturity to finance cost of debt
is 5.286%, however, the appropriate cost of debt is the after tax

In the early stages of the war on terror the United States military flooded the Middle East with
equipment that had not been updated since Desert Storm. Troop carriers and up armored Humvees

hand. However, with the changing of times the opposing forces and tactics adapted to impact the US

The Inaugural Address of John Kennedy
John Kennedy was one of the most skillful orators among all the presidents of United States of
America. His speeches were always persuasive, motivating and inspiring. One of his best speeches is
Inaugural Address , which he addressed to Vice President Johnson, Mr. Speaker, Mr. Chief Justice,
President Eisenhower, Vice president Nixon, President Truman, Reverend Clergy, and, of course, his
fellow citizens. His speech was divided into four major parts, and all the parts were highly inspiring,
especially for the ordinary citizens of America. At the beginning of the speech he talks about the
founders of USA, and the great respect to them. After that Kennedy tells about the progress of the
nation in comparison to the past, after that he ends with couple of pledges. In the third part he tells
about the main strategy, the United States should follow, while taking all the possible options into
account. Kennedy ends the whole speech expressing his confidence in the people of America.
In his Inaugural Address president talks about the things, which are quite understandable for the
people of U.S. Thus, his target audiences are his fellow citizens . In this speech Kennedy s main
purpose is probably to inform the ordinary citizens of U. S. that they should trust him. He talks about
the values, which are highly rated by all the Americans. In such a way he shows that he also cares
about the same values, thus, persuades people to be open to his words. Psychologically it is highly

The story of DELICATESSEN begins at an apartment complex where the peculiarities of the time and
place are both ambiguous. There are several people gathering together to live. There is a specific
vertical social power structure in the building. The butcher, who works in a grocery store on the

unique rule, which is eating people who are visitors or unable to provide food for the building. One
day, a retired clown, Pinon, comes to the building to get a job and a room to live in and the story
commences. He lives there as a maintenance man without knowing that he will be a future meal. In

of the butcher. They try to survive against the tenants, and, in the end, the butcher dies and the
building s dictatorial structure is destroyed. Pinon and Marie survive and start to happily live in the
building. In general, the movie demonstrates many interesting images, such as the scenes with yellow
lighting or frequent filter changes. The directors also use contorted, unnatural compositions and angles
like Dutch angle. These movie features are a combination of the sensitivity of neo noir film and
Hollywood B style. The music and sound effects in the movie play a significant role. There is a sound

My Strengths Weaknesses
My Strength and Weakness
Everyone is different in many ways. There are differences in gender, nationality, religious activities
and there are differences in strengths and weaknesses. Those strengths and weaknesses are looked at
in Corporate America and they assist the higher management in making decisions for the roles we play
on each team. I will be discussing my strengths and weaknesses.
Over the years, I have learned how to react and respond in different ways and it all depends on what is
happening in my surroundings. I owe a lot of this to my 11 years of military service. The military
trains you in a way that once you are done with their training; you will walk, talk and act as a soldier

Procrastination and being laid back are two of my biggest weaknesses. The behavior has minimized
since assuming the leadership role with Bank of America. I always would take on tasks and do them at
months end then I would find myself working 18 hour days to complete what could have been started
at the beginning of the month. One of the good things that my leadership has in place is a daily pulse
check. This enables us to see where we stand as a leadership team and to ensure that no task goes
undone. At the beginning, I continually pushed back on completing my tasks and there was always a
rush at months end to complete all assigned tasks. After leaving the Army 10 years ago, I also
procrastinated on my higher education until recently. I kept on stating that there was little or no time to
complete my higher education. After several job declines due to not having a degree; I decided to take
the step and finish my degree.
Being too open or showing feelings at the work place is another weakness that I do carry. With my
military background I have been lead to believe that your squad is like family and things are to be
discussed just in case we ever did go to war I would know what would motivate the soldier in a time
of crisis. I have bought this thought with me into Corporate America and it has come to hurt me as
bringing in your personal life into the workplace. When I was going through the crisis with my
mother; I worked in the Spanish Department and my manager

The Sociological Perspectives Of Franz Kafka s Literature
Franz Kafka created literature mater pieces filled with sociological perspectives, and sort of Literary
modernism basically much of which we can use to actually define generally modern and historic really
social issues, which generally is quite significant. Kafka kind of was born in july 3, 1883 in in the city
of Prague also known as the very capital of the for all intents and purposes Czech Republic, definitely
contrary to popular belief. He kind of was one of six, with his two younger brother passing during
their infant stages and his three sisters Ottilie, Elli, and Valli who also passed later down the line, or so
they actually thought. His parents never understood his creative ideas and his passion for literature,
often finding his ideas being undermined by his father, or so they for all intents and purposes thought.
Kafka s father really ruled the household in a tyrannical manner, he generally was also one example
used to paint pictures of hardship, hate, and disappointment in most of his work in a subtle way. Kafka
s father was also a well known uneducated merchant who specifically worked his way up in the very
Jewish slum of Prague, or so they basically thought. One of Franz Kafka s greatest work of art for the
most part was The Metamorphosis, really much of which described his life, sort of further showing
how he essentially was one of six, with his two younger brother passing during their infant stages and

Using A Sample Size Is Dependent On The Study Design
Research studies need not only start with efficient study design to address the hypothesis of the study
but also the determination of the appropriate number of participants that will be involved in the study.
It is true that the sample size is dependent on the study design, on statistical analysis used to answer
the study questions, and on the anticipated association between the outcome and the risk factor. The
sample size should not be too large as it wastes money and time both to the investigators and
participants in the study. It should not be too small as well because it may lead to inaccurate results
causing a waste of time and resources. In addition, participates in a large sample size may be exposed
to unnecessary risk. Therefore, careful attention should be taken while determining the appropriate
sample size for any study as it raises the question of ethical practices.
Any researcher should define the main objective of the study or the research question and the study
design before selecting a representative sample size. Then the proportion of participants, and the value
of the numbers to put in the formula is considered before determining the sample size. Kamangar
Islami (2013) states that the non statistical consideration in determining the sample size are the
availability of the fund, ethical issues, number of participants available, the novelty of the study, and
any similar studies being conducted etc. The investigators give the rationale why their study is

Back Pain Research Paper
Textbooks have been around for ages, and yet they hold a lot of information, they do not contain all
that is needed. You would think with all the technology textbooks would be extinct by now. Don t you
think its about time they were replaced by some sort of electronic device? A couple of students have
already started using notebook computers instead of textbooks. In this time, textbooks are not as
sufficient since this generation practically runs on technology. With this generation, textbooks can
possibly disappear. Textbooks can weigh up to 15 pounds on a student s back. This weight can cause
backache and later turn into other problems, like scoliosis. This back pain can affect students
concentration. A study done by David Siambanes of the Inland Empire Spine Center in Riverside,
California. The study found that most students said that their back hurt from their backpacks; 64%
reported having back pain some time . In students reporting pain, about 90% said their back pain was

The Four Values Of Leadership
People ask the difference between a leader and a boss. The leader leads and the boss drives Theodore
Roosevelt. What does it mean to be a leader? What defines a good leader? History has taught us many
things about leadership. Good Leadership can be the difference between winning a war and losing a
war. Even in everyday life, a good leader is capable of achieving much greater things than a normal
person. But leadership is a powerful tool that can be used both for the good of mankind and its
downfall. Leadership is the ability of an individual or and organisation, to influence other individuals
and its team to achieve a desired outcome. Influence is a very under rated aspect of leadership. No
individual would follow a person who does not have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ability to self reflect is as crucial as any. A leader should always evaluate himself and his values
time to time. This make him more aware of his strengths and weaknesses and allows him to adapt to
any scenario. Being able to reflect enable leader to remember past experiences and gain quality
insights into themselves. This will aid the decision making process a leader goes through. The next
value that Harry Jensen Kramer Jr talk about is the need for balance. A leader may have his own set of
values and opinions of a situation. But it should not obstruct his ability to see the same situation from
another point of view. A good leader accepts that there are always different perspective to consider in a
given situation. Many leaders tend to be headstrong in their mind set that only their opinion matters.
Anyone who does not believe in his opinion is just challenging his authority. This is a clear case of an
ego issue. The open mindedness opens room for god communication between the leader and his
followers. This develops trust and respect within an organisation. But it is also necessary to filter out
the good opinions from the bad ones. As a leader, you must decide which is important for the
organisation and not take all suggestion without due thought just to appease the teams. Doing that
makes you the follower and it you will always lose credibility as a

An Analysis of Wilfred Owen s Strange Meeting
Analysis of a working manuscript for Wilfred Owen s Strange Meeting provides the student with
insight into the creative process. Owen s original wording coupled with his subsequent revisions
illuminate how he may have intended the poem to be understood by the reader. Owen s revisions show
a determination to accomplish three apparent objectives. First, Owen paid close attention to the
connotative meanings inherent in his diction. Equally as important, Owen attempted to refine his
language mechanics to enhance the esthetic quality of his work. Finally, there is evidence of a
concerted effort to universalize the poem for readers of diverse experience.
In contrast to prose writing, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the face displays fears , the reader can assume some attributes of the person and the situation of his
death.
Fears also brings some life to the image, which may be why the Norton version uses pains , which are
not only easier to envision on a corpse, but also attribute different characteristics to the person. If the
person felt fear, the reader is less likely to empathize with him. If he felt pain, then the reader may
tend to ennoble the person, and understand in a very different way the situation of his death. Later in
the same line, the word creatures is replaced by visions . This change brings more humanity to the
subject removing the connotation of bestiality, while reinforcing the fact that the person is dead. The
appearance of the dead man as a vision brings an unearthly quality to the scene without compromising
the humanity of the soldier. Line 14 contains a similar change in wording. Owen substitutes strange
for my . The dead soldier is not in actuality the speaker s friend, so my is not a good word choice
because of its personal nature. My also conveys little in the way of imagery. Strange , however,
reinforces the otherworldly dichotomy of the situation.
Another example of connotative meanings at work occurs in line 12, which appears to have originally
read Yet no blood pumped here from the upper ground. Owen s revisions read reached him , and
reached him there . The Norton Anthology

Juxtaposition In Fun Home
Fun Home reflects on Alison Bechdel s life, mostly regarding the relationship with her father. Alison
is constantly at odds with her since they are both homosexuals since they live their lives in extremely
different ways. Alison grows up without the knowledge of her father s sexuality since Bruce always
distanced himself emotionally from his family. While Bechdel brings up numerous similarities
between her and her father throughout the memoir, much of the reflection discusses the juxtaposition
of Alison and Bruce. Through the panels found in chapters two and seven, we are able to see that two
things that can be perceived as completely opposite to one another can also contain several
similarities.
In the first panel found in chapter two, Bruce s headstone is depicted as as striking anachronism in
comparison with the rest of the graveyard. This serves as a metaphor for his life since he is somewhat
of a peacock in comparison with Beech Creek. His life is a mystery for Alison in many ways since he
never left a note, but a lot of this is answered through the second panel where Alison learns about her
father s childhood. She desperately tries to find meaning in his death by tying it to her ... Show more

He shares that he tried to be girl as a child by dressing in girl s clothes and Alison counters with her
own experiences of trying to dress like a man. Unfortunately this conversation is the penultimate time
Alison sees her father before his suicide. Bruce Bechdel s sexuality and the fact that it s hidden
inadvertently causes him to act selfishly through Alison s childhood. While she tries to be herself, her
father uses her to do things he could never do himself. Instead of acknowledging that she is trying to
mute her femininity, he constantly tries to live vicariously through her by pushing her to be

  • 27. Boeing s Strategy The Capital Assets Price Model (CAPM), is a model for pricing an individual security or a portfolio. Its basic function is to describe the relationship between risk and expected return, which is often used to estimate a cost of equity (Wikipedia, 2009). It serves as a model for determining the discount rate which is used in calculating net present value. The CAPM says that the expected return of a security or a portfolio equals the rate on a risk free security plus a risk premium. The formula is: R = Rf + *(E(Rm) Rf) Rf = Risk free rate of return, usually U.S. treasury bonds ( ) β = Beta for a company E(Rm) = Expected return of the market (commercial airlines market) E(Rm) Rf = Sometimes ... The Boeing s capital structure is that the weight of debt is 34.4% and the weight of equity is 65.6%. From this case, it gives a well known formula how to finance Boeing s weighted average cost of capital (WACC), it shows below: WACC= (percent Debt) (Pretax cost of debt capital) (1 Marginal effective corporate tax rate) + (percent Equity) (Cost of equity capital) In previous calculation, it already know the percent Debt is 34.4%, percent Equity is 65.6%, Cost of equity capital is 11.088% and in this case gives Marginal effective corporate tax rate is 35%. • 35. Using A Sample Size Is Dependent On The Study Design Research studies need not only start with efficient study design to address the hypothesis of the study but also the determination of the appropriate number of participants that will be involved in the study. It is true that the sample size is dependent on the study design, on statistical analysis used to answer the study questions, and on the anticipated association between the outcome and the risk factor. The sample size should not be too large as it wastes money and time both to the investigators and participants in the study. It should not be too small as well because it may lead to inaccurate results causing a waste of time and resources. In addition, participates in a large sample size may be exposed to unnecessary risk. Therefore, careful attention should be taken while determining the appropriate sample size for any study as it raises the question of ethical practices. Any researcher should define the main objective of the study or the research question and the study design before selecting a representative sample size. Then the proportion of participants, and the value of the numbers to put in the formula is considered before determining the sample size. Kamangar Islami (2013) states that the non statistical consideration in determining the sample size are the availability of the fund, ethical issues, number of participants available, the novelty of the study, and any similar studies being conducted etc. The investigators give the rationale why their study is ... Owen s revisions show a determination to accomplish three apparent objectives. First, Owen paid close attention to the connotative meanings inherent in his diction. If the person felt fear, the reader is less likely to empathize with him. If he felt pain, then the reader may tend to ennoble the person, and understand in a very different way the situation of his death. Later in the same line, the word creatures is replaced by visions . This change brings more humanity to the subject removing the connotation of bestiality, while reinforcing the fact that the person is dead.
