Isolation And Characterization Of Human Umbilical Cord...
Summary of:
Isolation and Characterization of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells with
Hematopoiesis supportive Function and Other Potentials (Lu et al. 2006)
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are fibroblast like structural cells that are found in bone marrow,
skeletal muscle, and other connective tissues. MSC derived from bone marrow (BM) have been shown
to be self renewing and are capable of differentiation into a variety of stromal cell types including
bone forming osteoblasts, fat storing adipocytes, and neurons. Another trait exhibited by BM MSC is
their supportive role in hematopoiesis (blood genesis). This behavior has been utilized to enhance
efficacy of co transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). BM MSC are gathered using painful
procedures in which penetrating bone to access the marrow. This article investigates the umbilical
cord (UC) as a source of MSC and compares the cells gathered in this manner with BM MSC.
Previous methods for obtaining UC MSC involved extracting the cells from the single vein found on
the umbilical cord. This method was met with 30% success with this group. A new method involving
the use of the whole cord was created and attempted. This method was then compared to the
traditional practice to isolate MSC, through bone marrow aspiration. The research group did this by
dicing the cord into 1 2 mm fragments and enzymatically digesting said fragments in collagenase and
trypsin. The cell suspension was then filtered and cultured

Julius Caesar Tragic Figure Quotes
After reading the Tragedy of Julius Caesar, think who best fits the role of a tragic figure
In this play? There are many tragic figures, but the one who stands out the most and who practically
defines the play as a tragedy would be Brutus. In the Tragedy of Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare
portrays Brutus as the tragic figure. Marcus Brutus fits Aristotle s definition of a tragic figure.
Aristotle s definition explains a tragic figure as a [great] man who is neither a paragon of virtue and
justice nor undergoes the change to misfortune through any real badness or wickedness but because of
some mistake.
Aristotle defines a great man as a man of noble birth who is neither a model of perfection nor totally
evil. He defines a mistake or hamartia as a flaw. The great man falls through though not entirely
because of some weakness of character, some moral blindness, or error. Brutus fits this description,
being a highly regarded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this quote, Cassius (a conspirator) is referring to Caesar. Cassius is very envious of Caesar and
doesn t think that Caesar should have all of the power because he wants it for himself. This is also
how the rest of the conspirators (aside from Brutus) feel. The conspirators jealousy is their motivation
for wanting Caesar dead. Whether or not Brutus decision to join the conspirators and their pan for
murder is a mistake is debatable. However, it is obvious that the decision is what led to the misfortune/
fall of Brutus character. Brutus explains to Cassius No, Cassius, no. Think not, thou noble Roman, that
ever Brutus will go bound to Rome; he bears too great a mind. But this same day must end that work
the ides of March begun, (V, I, 112 115). After Caesar s death, Brutus allows Mark Antony to speak at
the funeral, and much to his surprise Antony turns the people of Rome against Brutus and the other
conspirators. This

Essay on Worth in Everyday Use
A Question of Worth in Everyday Use
From the fashionable, expensive clothing that the character Dee in Alice Walker s Everyday Use
wears, the girl seems almost immediately to be a person of great value and importance. It may seem,
too, at first glance, that Dee s mother and sister, Maggie, in their tin roof house and shabby clothing,
are of little or no worth in Everyday Use. The story ironically shows, under more careful thought, that
the very outer characteristics which deem Dee the more valuable character are the ones which prove
that the mother and Maggie have the more powerful inner worth.
In the beginning of the story, Dee is portrayed to be more physically valuable than her mother and
Maggie. Dee s outfit reeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Houston A. Baker, Jr. and Charlotte Pierce Baker suggest that Ultimately, the framed Polaroid
photograph represents the limits of Dee s vision (416). With close examination, the camera, which
represents Dee s material wealth, can also be used to prove her inability to see people, places and
things for what and who they really are.
By far the most striking piece of evidence supporting Dee s lack of inner value is her desire to have
the quilts. At first, Dee s anger over being denied the quilts seems justified. Dee claims that she would
preserve the quilts and Hang them (1154). Yet, the real purpose of possessing the quilts, as seen on a
larger scope, is to use the old quilts for the simple life the mother and Maggie lead. To actually put the
quilts to everyday use, as Maggie will do, is symbolically preserving the family heritage. Dee s cry
that Maggie would probably be backward enough to put them to everyday use (1154) portrays Dee as
the materialistic, backward character.
Just as the argument over the quilts shows Dee as intrinsically immature, it directly points out that the
mother and Dee have, in fact, great value within them. Dee s mother, for instance, is at first silent to
Dee s demands to have the butter churn and wooden benches. When Dee takes the quilts, previously
promised to Maggie, the mother then becomes defensive. The mother questions Dee s intended use of
the quilts in an effort to deter Dee from her insistence of owning

Analysis of Still Life With Peppermint Bottle by Paul Cezanne
Paul Cezanne is considered one of the greatest and most memorable artists of the Post Impressionist
period. His techniques were admired and greatly influential in the development of Cubism and many
other modern art movements. He employed several styles in his works, such as his still life
productions. In 1894 he produced a brilliant piece of work entitled Still Life with a Peppermint Bottle
. Through this work he used elaborate techniques that most artists had not even discovered during his
era.
Cezanne mastered the technique of still life. In his paintings he used random objects such as a

It is meant to be explored in vision alone and tantalize the eye. The next object that is noticed in the
painting are the images of the flask and peppermint bottle. The peppermint bottle is drawn with an
elegant double curvature, which reappears in the simple rounding of the fruit. The darker shades
emitted from the bottle and flask creates a sense of intensity and warmth. The flask is compared to the
peppermint bottle as simpler, but yet illustrious. This object is depicted as having no use in human
purpose; its only purpose is merely to be contemplated by the observer. The elegant curves of the
peppermint bottle and the flask can be described as being simple but yet bold. They seem to stand out
in the picture and are the first to be noticed due to their great design. They seem to be superior over
the rest of the objects in the painting. The next thing noticed by the human eye is the elegant drapery
that is placed over the table. The drapery seems to have the greatest curves in the entire painting. It is
freely drawn but is still has the constricting folds and curves. However, even though it is freely drawn
the observer can see that it works in complete harmony with the other objects in the painting. All of
these objects work together to form the still life masterpiece that Cezanne had intended.
When we observe these objects together, we can see Cezanne s intention of the masterpiece. When we
look at the vertical and horizontal aspects of the painting, we

Shawshank Redemption Film Analysis
(Part I) Nicole Rafter identifies several stock characteristics that dominate the traditional film. First,
there is the convict buddy. In The Shawshank Redemption our innocent protagonist Andy is quickly
befriended by prison veteran, Red. Red s voice can be heard narrating his thoughts about his friend
Andy. As the story goes on, their relationship is further explored to the point that the last shot is them
reuniting. Common to traditional prison films is a paternalistic warden, but this is not the case in
Shawshank Prison. The warden here is very greedy and immoral which is a general a characteristic of
more recent prison films. Another stock character is a brutish guard which we see exemplified in
Captain Byron Hadley. He beats a man to death in the first act of the film. Finally, we have Andy, who
is the young hero, or at least he is fairly young when he goes into prison. He is innocent and thus
exemplifies Rafter s stock character of having an unjustly accused protagonist. Rafter also notes stock
plots that often play out. In The Shawshank Redemption, the innocent hero Andy escapes while
simultaneously bringing condemnation on the unjust members of the prison. This plot corresponds to
one of Rafter s traditional prison plots (2006, 166). Lastly, there is the idea of stock themes in
traditional prison films. Again, The Shawshank Redemption falls in line with Rafter s theme of the
unjustly jailed hero fighting against the unfair system. Rafter writes, To restore justice,

My Writing That I Did Not Know Before
Over the course of this class I have learned many things about writing that I did not know before,
because I never had any great instruction before i came to college. In Grade school and high school,
when I got back a graded paper there would just be words crossed out, or punctuation corrections.
There would never be any explanation as to why I need to correct this, or why this is wrong. I would
go over the corrections and wonder how this is wrong and why does a comma go there but why doesn
t a comma go here. When reading the corrections and notes you made on each of my papers this year,
I more easily understood why something was wrong. I might not have made the same corrections in
the next paper, but each paper I got back I understood what was wrong, and what I needed to do to
correct it. I think I understood more about writing with each paper that I wrote this year. I might not
have shown it with each paper because I seem to always make the same errors. I always get mixed up
when using singular and plural nouns, using the same adjective throughout the paper, and not being
descriptive. I knew after you made the corrections why something is wrong, but I never seemed to
make the corrections myself, because I have a habit of making those same mistakes, and because it
sounds like it is right to me because I speak that way myself. Those errors I made in each of my
papers seemed to be right at the time of me writing them, but when you pointed them out to me after

At the University of Michigan, Noonan attended a luncheon talk by Curtis Hayes, a worker for the
Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), which was a student run civil rights
organization (Noonan 484). Meeting Hayes, who was almost the same age as her, inspired Noonan to
join the Movement (Noonan 484). Soon after, Tom Hayden, who had just returned from a Freedom
Ride in Georgia, spoke with Noonan about his experiences and further inspired, as well as encouraged,
Noonan to work with the Movement (Noonan 484). In 1962, Noonan attended a joint SNCC and
Students for a Democratic Society (which she was a member of at the time) conference, where she
spoke with various SNCC workers (Noonan 484). These conversations convinced Noonan of the logic
and practicality of their organization s vision, and the members welcoming spirit convinced Noonan to
join SNCC s work with the Southern Freedom Movement (Noonan 485). After her freshman year at
the University of Michigan, Noonan told her parents she wanted to drop out of school to work in
Mississippi as a full time civil rights organizer (Noonan 485). Her parents strongly feared for her
safety and, since she was still underage, her parents insisted she take summer classes in Detroit and
find a civil rights activity closer to home (Noonan 485). That summer, Noonan took classes taught by

As the world s biggest retailer, the Wal Mart s history is a story about innovation, leadership and
success. Sam Walton established the Wal Mart in 1962 (Michael, 2009). On October 31, 1969, it was

The Battle of Monte Cassino was one of the most important battles of World War 2. Monte Cassino
was effectively blocking the Allies route north to Rome and had to be taken despite the many
difficulties of doing so with many numerous mountains surrounding Cassino. The Allies reached the
western end of the German Gustav Line in Italy in mid Jan 1943. The main German positions

German troops established positions on the hill of Monte Cassino, which dominated over the valleys,

conducted this battle with the intention of dislodging the German troops that had been well entrenched
in the Italian mountain and also to clear their path to Rome. In 1943 after Sicily s conquest the allies
were faced with difficulties battling up the spine towards Rome. The Germans had gained more
ground thus, they were able to block the allied forces from advancing. The Germans, however, ordered
his troops not to include the abbey in their defensive system. By 1944 the allied progress was
embarrassingly and painfully slow thus causing tension among the allies. The reason for the slow pace
was the geography and the terrain south of Rome. It has steep high mountains with very fast flowing
rivers that cut through. The only possible route to Rome was route seven the Appian Way or route six
which was via Casilina which had been built in the 12th century. The Appian Way followed the west

Cloud Of Unknowing Vs. The Book Of Margery Kempe

Pursuing such spiritual fulfillment is a responsibility not to be taken lightly.
Often, literal commands of Jesus such as pilgrimages have two and three fold benefits. Besides the
very physical connections with the sacred that they offer arriving at places of sacred history,
pilgrimages are also a form of penance for sins. Because of the sacrifice of time, money, and risk to
make these pilgrimages, best seen by Kempe s outrageous devotion in leaving behind her life and
family for long periods of time, pilgrimages assist in erasing sins in ones life. Another reason that
Margery and medieval Christians would embark on these pilgrimages is for the reverence of saints and
their relics that they would visit. The Middle Ages emphasized an important connection to the lives of
past saints believing that the saints still had power to intercede blessings into the lives of religious
people on Earth. Where Margery is set a part from common laity, during her pilgrimage to Jerusalem
she receives a special spiritual gift of cryings that she can not control when religious emotion comes
over her. Describing these outbursts, the author of her autobiography says, The crying was so loud and
so amazing that it astounded people... (Windeatt, 104). It is assumable that emotional experiences
upon pilgrimages of either laity or monastics to such places as the Holy Land would be common,

the treasure of Smaug. There are many important components of each story. These include its plot,
themes, or setting. In this essay, I will be explaining the similarities and differences between the three
races of The Hobbit. The first topic of discussion will be the comparison of the race s physical traits.
These physical traits allow a reader to visualize characters. It also gives the reader to make their own
judgements of a race based on appearance. In the terms of height, the hobbits and dwarves are shorter
than an average human. The hobbits ... wear no shoes... thick warm brown hair like the stuff on their
heads... (2, Ch. 1) This race also loves peace, quiet, and a good tilled earth. The dwarves, however, are
stocky and tough. An average dwarf grows a long bread on their faces and wear heavy cloaks.
Verification for this account is, It was a dwarf with a blue beard tucked into a golden belt, very bright
eyes under his dark green hood. (7, Ch. 1). They are very strong from their continuous work in the
mines. Dwarves worked in mines and caverns to acquire the many gems needed for their crafting. The
dwarves also had experience in fighting wars with other races. Elves are a

Relationship Between Intelligence And Creativity
What is the relationship between intelligence and creativity?
In this essay I will explore the correlation between intelligence (IQ) and creativity (DT), and whether
one is influenced or can be predicted by the existence of the other. The relationship between IQ
(intelligence quotient) and creativity has been an anchor point for psychological research. Numerous
amounts of psychologists have carried out research in order to find evidence to support this idea of a
correlation or evidence to disprove the hypothesis that IQ and creativity could be related.
IQ is defined as a measure of intelligence that shows the ratio of an individual s mental age to their
chronological age, this is then multiplied by 100 (Cattel 1972). Creativity cannot be measured by
undertaking an IQ test, creativity is subjective and the simplest way of defining it is the ability to
create original, useful and surprising new things. However, over the years pioneering research has
inspired psychologists to devise tests to measure creativity. The most famous Divergent Thinking test
is Guildfords Alternative Uses Task established in 1967. This test proposes that the individual
involved should think of alternative uses for a common item such as a brick. This way of measuring
Divergent Thinking is universally used in contemporary testing of creativity.
In order to analyse and examine whether or not creativity and IQ have a relationship and whether its
influential on each other, I looked at the founding

Evaluation Of The Intervention Of Hospital Permission
Before recruiting the participants and staff for the intervention, hospital permission will need to be
addressed. This includes permission from the hospital as well making sure the privacy rule and patient
protected information regarding HIPAA are strictly followed. In order to gather participants for the
intervention, staff within both hospitals will notify database cancer patients and their loved ones

Cutting A Tax On Junk Food
Raising food taxes is the topic of the editorial article Slapping a tax on junk food is still a bad idea by
the Globe and Mail. The writer states that raising taxes is not the answer to decrease high obesity rates
and instead suggests that moderation and lifestyle are key to enjoying food. The editorial also
acknowledges the increasing amount of attention we give to this problem now that it has grown larger
and more complex. Also, an increase of taxes ultimately allow the consumers to have the last say in
what they consume. The writer argues that an increase of taxes on junk foods is not necessary for
society; my research will focus on whether this is true or not. Tax increases have rippling effects that
continue on for generations. This problem is much more deeply seated then just an easy fix... there
will need to be great societal change for this to happen. (p. 39) as Bogart points out in the Obesity and
its Issues article. Completely eradicating obesity is a complex task that cannot be solved with an
inflation of taxes and this has caused debate in addition to rapid change in the world and the economy.
Cons of Increased Junk Food Taxes A negative factor of increasing taxes are the suffering of lower
income families due to a burden on the welfare dependant. Many of these families cannot afford basic
necessities, let alone healthier foods. Considering what items to tax and how to tax them fairly are a
primary concern for these families. Taxation of junk

The presence of cockroaches is often detected by their damage, smell or by the fecal matter (called
frass ) they deposit. These are clues which can aid in diagnosing a cockroach problem. Cockroaches
may use such things as glue or paste (especially from animal based materials), starch and certain color
dyes as foods. As a result, items such as stamps, envelopes, bindings of older books, draperies and
occasionally wallpapers may show signs of feeding. The size of the mandible marks and the apparent
degree of vigor with which they feed are indications of the type of roach which did the damage. The
size and shape of fecal droppings are also clues to the cockroach species involved.
The most important aspect of cockroach damage derives from their habit of feeding and harboring in
damp and unsanitary places such as sewers, garbage disposals, kitchens, bathrooms, and storage areas
indoors. Filth from these sources is spread by the cockroaches to food supplies, food preparation
surfaces, dishes, utensils, and other surfaces. Far more food is contaminated by cockroaches than they
are able to eat. Diseases transmitted as a result of these habits were discussed earlier. These same
habits are why people are so disgusted and repulsed by the mere presence of cockroaches. For many
people, personal disgust and the social stigma attached to cockroaches produce a complete lack of
tolerance for any cockroaches in their home or elsewhere.

Research Paper On Abram
When God told Abram to leave his homeland and to move on (see illustration #1) (Gen.12:1 2NSRV)
God made a promise to Abram. I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you and make your
name great, so that you will be a blessing . (Gen. 12:1 3) Then the LORD appeared to Abram, and
said, To your offspring I will give this land. Therefore, he built there an altar to the LORD, who had
appeared to him (Gen. 12:7). Abram knew that through his faith in God would blessed Abram and his

wives. With the male heirs, Cain, Able and Seth, Esau and Jacob, Ishmael and Isaac (Israel) Esau it is
the second whom is to be blessed. However, with the females it is the first whom is truly blessed. Yes,
Racheal did give birth to Joseph whom would be the father of the twelve tribes and a great leader to
his people in Egypt and Benjamin would be the leader of ten tribes. However, it is through God s plan
and His desires that all must be achieved. Aside from the human frailties and lack of faith in God, all

Another study looked at the effects of media images on television and the effects it has on female s
perception of their body image. In this study, the participants were asked how many hours of
television they watched a day, then how many of these programmes were ones with characters in that

compared with how much television they watched and how much of this television contained media of

dissatisfaction. Adolescent girls based their ideal body images on characters on the television that have
the perfect skinny body image. When the participants questioned their body image after the exposure,
it made them feel worse about themselves and strive to have the perfect body image. [4]

National And State Assembly Elections In Nepal
We have seen nothing like this in Nepal in the past. I am talking about the upcoming national and state
assembly elections. These elections might make or break democracy.
The make part is easy to figure out. The elections will officially end the long political transition,
convert the country de facto from a unitary state to federal, and mark the endorsement of the
Constitution 2015 by the Madheshi parties.
The Madheshi parties had refused to endorse the new constitution until their demands were met. They
had asked for one state, and not more than two states, covering all 22 districts in the plains, but the
major did not agree. So only 8 districts have been included in the Madheshi only State 2 (the states are
yet to be named). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At stake are 275 seats in the federal parliament, 165 to be elected by the first past the post method and
the rest from proportional representation. The number of State Assembly members will be twice as
many in the same ratio. Which alliance enjoys the better prospects?
In the 2013 general elections and recent local elections, the left parties were able to win nearly 60
percent seats up for the contest. If that ratio holds, the left alliance will likely be a clear winner in the
upcoming national and state elections. However, the rebel candidates against the alliance candidates
on both sides might not let the outcome to so straightforward.
Whatever the outcome, the emergence of the left and the non left alliance is a good step in the right
direction. If these alliances outlast the elections, it could be the beginning of a two party state, like in
the United States and the United Kingdom, which will contribute to political stability and offer a clear
choice for voters.
But if the two alliances fail to become competitive, the break part will likely ensue, harming
democracy and the country. Democratic elections make government representative and check it if it
does not deliver or misbehaves. But they also create autocratic leaders on both left and right.
For example, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini were members of socialist

people and should not feel discriminated against. Deaf people sometimes still get treated different, but

after graduation. At Gallaudet, Braggs had ended up going to the prom with Ruth. His friends joked
with him that he was going with her. Then he ended up being glad he went with her once he had a
good time at prom and she expressed how she was to be blind along with being deaf in six months.
Braggs was not always just all play; he did a load of work as well.
Jobs are more fun when people enjoy them instead of going just for the money. Braggs was a typical

Theories Of Learning Behavior Theories
There are over 100 theories of learning behaviour that can be applied to behaviour in the classroom. In
the field of education, research has shown that teachers spend as much time engaged in classroom
behaviour management as they do teaching, therefore, this shows the importance of learning
behaviour theories. Firstly, what is learning? Learning can be defined as developing newly learnt
skills, new knowledge and understanding concepts. We recognise learning as there is a better
understanding or a change in behaviour. It is essential to comprehend that learning associates different
understandings to many people and is used accordingly in various theories. This essay is divided into
three parts: first, addressing the definition of behaviour, secondly, the explanation of a Learning
Theory (Behaviourism) and lastly this paper will look at the classical and operant conditioning theory
illustrating how these environmental concepts affects children s learning in the classroom. Bulotsky
Shearer et al., (2012) mentioned that children who have difficulty regulating their emotions, paying
attention, initiating peer interactions and sustaining engagement in learning tasks are at risk for
learning difficulties. This essay will demonstrate how the above mentioned behaviours can cause
learning difficulties in children in the classroom. The Oxford Dictionary defines behaviour as the way
in which one acts or conducts oneself, especially towards others (Oxford Dictionary,

Essay on The Influential Life of Christopher Marlowe
During the Renaissance era, Christopher Marlowe impacted and inspired many of his fellow
playwrights during his short life. With the success of his plays and poems, some including
Tamburlaine the Great and Hero and Leander, came the praise for Marlowe s contemporaries.
According to Peter Farey, there were notably few contemporary dramatists whom had anything
negative to say about Marlowe, although he received much criticism regarding his personal life. His
relatively clean reputation diminished after his first arrest in 1593 and rumors of suspected corruption.
It is believed by a copious amount of scholars that Marlowe was a considerably controversial

However, he was fortunate enough to be selected at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge on another
scholarship from a former Archbishop of Canterbury named Matthew Parker. The dramatist left
Canterbury for university near the end of 1580 and received his B.A. degree in 1584 and later his
M.A. several years later. Throughout his relatively short lifespan, Christopher Marlowe flourished
remarkably as an artist because of the fruition of his plays and poems. The dramatist s first play,
Tamburlaine the Great, was performed on a classic stage in 1587 in London. This play was the first
English play to be written in blank verse and has been deliberated to be the beginning of the more
mature phase of the Elizabethan theatre. The dramatist also wrote in iambic pentameter, which became
very popular before the end of this age (Escoala). Marlowe wrote a total of seven plays and two
poems, including Tamburlaine the Great (parts one and two), Doctor Faustus, The Massacre at Paris,
and Hero and Leander. The immense success of Marlowe s plays is partly because of the stage
presence of actor Edward Alleyn. The role of Tamburlaine in Tamburlaine the Great was most likely
written for him, for Alleyn was awfully tall for the time period and the character of Tamburlaine is
described to be rather haughty. Above all, Marlowe was admired for his contemporaries during the
Renaissance era, with George Peele remembering him as

Comparing Kenny And Byron
Kenny and Byron are both very similar and different. They have similarities like being able to tease
people and also like feeling sorry for things and people. They re also very different as well. Byron
often tries to act cool and tries to not show any emotion. Kenny on the other hand, tends to show his
emotion freely. Byron also doesn t do very well in school, unlike Kenny who seems to thrive in
school. Kenny could easily be described as inspired. Kenny displays this with his interaction with
other characters. For example, he went to talk with his father in the bathroom when his dad was

because Kenny looks up to his father and wants to be like him. Another example would be ... Show

Byron shows this characteristic as he interacts with other characters in the story. For example, Byron
eventually throws a Swedish Creme cookie at a bird which ends up killing it. He gets extremely upset
with himself from this event. That is shown because of him throwing up, crying, and then having a
funeral for the bird. Then in many other experiences Byron carelessly beats up kids not feeling bad
afterwards whatsoever. This shows that he is ambivalent because he has mixed feelings about injury
and death. He carelessly beats up kids but then when it comes to killing a bird he has a huge
breakdown. Another example would be his feelings and action towards Kenny. Sometimes he will be
nice and brotherlike with Kenny, but then other times he turns around and then ends up beating up
Kenny. When Kenny goes to Byron s class and reads after school Byron in a way congratulates
Kenny. Then in other instances like How to survive a blizzard Byron seems to be a completely
different person and causes harm to Kenny with his friend Buphead. This also shows that he is
ambivalent because he treats Kenny nicely one second and then the next second he s teasing or beating

Neo-Marxist Filmmakers
Neo Marxist filmmakers were greatly influenced by Althusser s theory of ideology, which viewed film
as an ideological apparatus that tried to determine how films turn viewers into their subject, and
encourage them to believe not only in the represented reality, but also in their preferred one, the one
that could not exist without their structuring. For example, the Jean Louis Baudry s article Ideological
effects of the Basic Cinematographic Apparatus (1985) says that the making of movies is a results of
the recent capitalism s need to restore in people minds the illusion of having control over their own
lives. The illusion was needed for their willing participation in the new industrial style of production
that actually took away the remains of their self control. Baudry found ideological properties in the
film apparatus itself that constitute a transcendental concentrated subject, and therefore induce a
willingness to cooperate with the capitalist mode of production. An observer who accepts the position
set by a painting, whereby his or hers eye overlays the painting s point of view, experiences the full
illusion of depth. This effect has a strong ideological outcome since, in ideological terms, the painting
arranges the viewer space in a centered and organized form that appears to originate from the painting.

Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde
In this book, there exist a battle between good and evil in the main characters where we are bound to
ask ourselves what is superior between good and evil? Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are easily seen as an
allegory of the evil and good that exists in men. The book depicts the struggle with two sides of the
human personality. Since Mr. Hyde seems to be taking over Dr. Jekyll, one could claim that evil is
stronger than good. Nevertheless, Mr. Hyde ends up dead at the end of the story, which strongly shows
the weakness and the failure of evil, so we have to ask ourselves whether good can be separated from
evil. Great people are involved in bad things this is the fact of life, yet this does not make them evil

Using the central characters and the key theme of the duplicity of mankind Robert Louis Stevenson

world. World of Warcraft is perhaps the best known massively multiplayer online roleplaying game
(MMORPG). These games are incredibly immersive and generally have no real ending, with players
able to continue the game indefinitely via expansions and new content being added. A pilot study by
Hussain and Griffiths (2009) set out to explore the potential for addiction to an MMORPG, within its
psychological and psychosocial effects on players. Generally, studies of MMORPGs have not had a
specific focus on addiction or the psychology of on line gaming (as cited in Hussain Griffiths, 2009).
At the time of their study, it was estimated that there were five million online gamers worldwide (as
cited in Hussain Griffiths, 2009). According to the statistical analysis site Statista, as of 2013
approximately 144.9 million people worldwide are active daily players of online games, an increase of
almost 3000 percent. Hussain and Griffiths note that playing an MMORPG can become an escape
from a player s real life, and a substitute for the social interactions involved in reality. Therefore, the
importance of studying MMORPG s potential for addiction, and research regarding possible
pathology, is even more relevant.
Hussain and Griffiths explored two hypotheses: (1) assess the impact of online gaming on the lives of
gamers, the independent variable being online gaming, the dependent,

should charge for a product or service to how much it should cost the organization to make or supply
the product or service. The accuracy of the managerial accounting manager s decisions is essential to
the organizations managers balancing the supply and demand for their areas (Johnson, 2013). The
most basic role of the accounting manager is budgeting. The budgeting process allows managers to
allocate resources to the most financially need departments, and eliminates programs and departments
that are not effectively using the resources (Managerial Accountant s Role in Business Planning, para.
5).
The budgets that the accounting managers have to generate can vary from industry to industry, but
some common budgets are sales, production, and cash budgets (Johnson, 2013).
Similar to the managerial accounting manager, the financial accounting manager is responsible for

Nick Murray Research Paper
One day in a thick forest, a man named Nick Murray was on a survival expedition. He and his German
Shepherd, Roxie, roamed the forest looking for firewood. They searched for a long time, but nothing
was dry enough to start a fire with. Finally, they found what they needed, dry wood. They went to the
shelter that Nick made of sticks and a tarp. They placed the wood carefully and made a cozy fire.
Roxie yelped in hunger. Nick already knew what Roxie wanted. They headed for the small river
opening. There was salmon everywhere in the water. Nick used his large net to catch them. They had a
brilliant plan. Roxie scared the fish toward Nick, and he caught them in the net. After about ten tries,
they caught two fish. They went back to the warm fire after being soaked ... Show more content on

She came back with sticks in her mouth every time. Nick also gathered sticks to make a warm fire.
Roxie came back with a small chunk of wood for the fire. Nick spoke again saying, Good job, Roxie!
Roxie was sore from all the running she did, and she decided to lay down. Nick had a blazing fire that
he was cooking the fish on. Nick ate leftover berries and salmon again. They knew they had made it
through this day. The night was long and bitter, which made it hard to sleep. The fire started to die
down slowly until only the coals were burning. After a while, both of them drifted off into a deep
sleep. Little did they know the next day would affect them for the rest of their lives. Nick woke to
Roxie licking his face. He laughed and hugged his four legged friend. Nick packed his backpack with
his knife, a coat, water, and more fish. He brought his bow and arrows and set off to hunt. Nick looked
and saw a bunny out of the corner of his eye. He held his breath and let go of the string. The arrow
propelled forward at the bunny, but he missed. The dog ran after the bunny using her speed. Nick

BUS 540: Business Law for Managers
Flavia LLoyd
June 28, 2015
Business Law Development Issues in Mongolia Mongolia is a developing country, which is
encountering challenges to develop modern business law. During the twentieth century, Mongolia had
been a socialist country and developed almost fifty years of non private property regime. However, the
end of the twentieth century, the country changed its regime to democratic and resulted mass
privatization of its state property. The government of the country distributed an interest of the state
property to its people and made more than half of Mongolian population as shareholder. However,
many of policy makers, lawyers, business people and general public encountered considerable lack of
understanding about a business law. Thus, it was necessary to start and develop business related law in
all fields. Nevertheless, due to lack of experts who understand modern law on businesses, Mongolia
has faced significant challenges to build its business law and still been in a process of business initial
stage of business law development. For Mongolia, it has been strenuous process in transition from
centrally planned economy to market economy and developing various aspects of business law
including corporate and securities law. In the middle of twentieth century, Mongolia was considered a
close ally to communist USSR. However, when the communist system

...and, in a shield, the World State s motto, Community, Identity, Stability (1).
Through the novel s first few lines, Aldous Huxley sets a framework for his characters and his plot.
With the story s progression, the motto s seemingly benign ideals reveal a harsher meaning. In Brave

Ending
Disturbing describes the conclusion. When a crowd of morbidly fascinated citizens surround John, his
episode of soul cleansing quickly turns into a community episode of Orgy Porgy. After he awakens to
recall this event, the story jumps to his hanging body.
By the connection of these two scenes, it seems if John gave in to his sexual impulses then took his
own life from remorse.
Though John s storyline gets resolved through his death, the overall plot remains loose ended. Nothing
changes for the World State; everyone still lives in a perpetual state of ignorant bliss.
11.) Irony
Verbal Irony:
John exclaims Oh brave new world in times of anger or disdain at London.
This strengthens the satirical tone of Huxley s book.
Situational Irony:
The Director, a chauvinist of test tube babies and strict rules, has a natural born son.
A truly civilized man from the reader s perspective, World State citizens instead consider John a
Savage.
Of all people, Mustapha Mond, a World Control, reads inappropriate works like Shakespeare and the
Bible.
These contradictions between reality and perception create an atmosphere of uneasy

Summary of: Isolation and Characterization of Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cells with Hematopoiesis supportive Function and Other Potentials (Lu et al. 2006) Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) are fibroblast like structural cells that are found in bone marrow, skeletal muscle, and other connective tissues. MSC derived from bone marrow (BM) have been shown to be self renewing and are capable of differentiation into a variety of stromal cell types including bone forming osteoblasts, fat storing adipocytes, and neurons. Another trait exhibited by BM MSC is their supportive role in hematopoiesis (blood genesis). This behavior has been utilized to enhance efficacy of co transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC). BM MSC are gathered using painful procedures in which penetrating bone to access the marrow. This article investigates the umbilical cord (UC) as a source of MSC and compares the cells gathered in this manner with BM MSC. Previous methods for obtaining UC MSC involved extracting the cells from the single vein found on the umbilical cord. This method was met with 30% success with this group. A new method involving the use of the whole cord was created and attempted. This method was then compared to the traditional practice to isolate MSC, through bone marrow aspiration. The research group did this by dicing the cord into 1 2 mm fragments and enzymatically digesting said fragments in collagenase and trypsin. The cell suspension was then filtered and cultured ... There are many tragic figures, but the one who stands out the most and who practically defines the play as a tragedy would be Brutus. In the Tragedy of Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare portrays Brutus as the tragic figure. Marcus Brutus fits Aristotle s definition of a tragic figure. Aristotle s definition explains a tragic figure as a [great] man who is neither a paragon of virtue and justice nor undergoes the change to misfortune through any real badness or wickedness but because of some mistake. Aristotle defines a great man as a man of noble birth who is neither a model of perfection nor totally evil. He defines a mistake or hamartia as a flaw. • 7. Essay on Worth in Everyday Use A Question of Worth in Everyday Use From the fashionable, expensive clothing that the character Dee in Alice Walker s Everyday Use wears, the girl seems almost immediately to be a person of great value and importance. It may seem, too, at first glance, that Dee s mother and sister, Maggie, in their tin roof house and shabby clothing, are of little or no worth in Everyday Use. The story ironically shows, under more careful thought, that the very outer characteristics which deem Dee the more valuable character are the ones which prove that the mother and Maggie have the more powerful inner worth. In the beginning of the story, Dee is portrayed to be more physically valuable than her mother and Maggie. Dee s outfit reeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Houston A. Baker, Jr. and Charlotte Pierce Baker suggest that Ultimately, the framed Polaroid photograph represents the limits of Dee s vision (416). With close examination, the camera, which represents Dee s material wealth, can also be used to prove her inability to see people, places and things for what and who they really are. By far the most striking piece of evidence supporting Dee s lack of inner value is her desire to have the quilts. At first, Dee s anger over being denied the quilts seems justified. Dee claims that she would preserve the quilts and Hang them (1154). Yet, the real purpose of possessing the quilts, as seen on a larger scope, is to use the old quilts for the simple life the mother and Maggie lead. To actually put the quilts to everyday use, as Maggie will do, is symbolically preserving the family heritage. Dee s cry that Maggie would probably be backward enough to put them to everyday use (1154) portrays Dee as the materialistic, backward character. Just as the argument over the quilts shows Dee as intrinsically immature, it directly points out that the mother and Dee have, in fact, great value within them. Dee s mother, for instance, is at first silent to Dee s demands to have the butter churn and wooden benches. When Dee takes the quilts, previously promised to Maggie, the mother then becomes defensive. The mother questions Dee s intended use of the quilts in an effort to deter Dee from her insistence of owning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1894 he produced a brilliant piece of work entitled Still Life with a Peppermint Bottle . Through this work he used elaborate techniques that most artists had not even discovered during his era. The next object that is noticed in the painting are the images of the flask and peppermint bottle. The peppermint bottle is drawn with an elegant double curvature, which reappears in the simple rounding of the fruit. The darker shades emitted from the bottle and flask creates a sense of intensity and warmth. The flask is compared to the peppermint bottle as simpler, but yet illustrious. This object is depicted as having no use in human purpose; its only purpose is merely to be contemplated by the observer. The elegant curves of the peppermint bottle and the flask can be described as being simple but yet bold. They seem to stand out in the picture and are the first to be noticed due to their great design. They seem to be superior over the rest of the objects in the painting. The next thing noticed by the human eye is the elegant drapery that is placed over the table. The drapery seems to have the greatest curves in the entire painting. It is freely drawn but is still has the constricting folds and curves. However, even though it is freely drawn the observer can see that it works in complete harmony with the other objects in the painting. All of these objects work together to form the still life masterpiece that Cezanne had intended. When we observe these objects together, we can see Cezanne s intention of the masterpiece. Common to traditional prison films is a paternalistic warden, but this is not the case in Shawshank Prison. The warden here is very greedy and immoral which is a general a characteristic of more recent prison films. Another stock character is a brutish guard which we see exemplified in Captain Byron Hadley. He beats a man to death in the first act of the film. Finally, we have Andy, who is the young hero, or at least he is fairly young when he goes into prison. He is innocent and thus exemplifies Rafter s stock character of having an unjustly accused protagonist. Rafter also notes stock plots that often play out. In The Shawshank Redemption, the innocent hero Andy escapes while simultaneously bringing condemnation on the unjust members of the prison. This plot corresponds to one of Rafter s traditional prison plots (2006, 166). Lastly, there is the idea of stock themes in traditional prison films. Again, The Shawshank Redemption falls in line with Rafter s theme of the unjustly jailed hero fighting against the unfair system. Rafter writes, To restore justice, ... My Writing That I Did Not Know Before Over the course of this class I have learned many things about writing that I did not know before, because I never had any great instruction before i came to college. In Grade school and high school, when I got back a graded paper there would just be words crossed out, or punctuation corrections. There would never be any explanation as to why I need to correct this, or why this is wrong. I would go over the corrections and wonder how this is wrong and why does a comma go there but why doesn t a comma go here. When reading the corrections and notes you made on each of my papers this year, I more easily understood why something was wrong. I might not have made the same corrections in the next paper, but each paper I got back I understood what was wrong, and what I needed to do to correct it. I think I understood more about writing with each paper that I wrote this year. I might not have shown it with each paper because I seem to always make the same errors. I always get mixed up when using singular and plural nouns, using the same adjective throughout the paper, and not being descriptive. I knew after you made the corrections why something is wrong, but I never seemed to make the corrections myself, because I have a habit of making those same mistakes, and because it sounds like it is right to me because I speak that way myself. Those errors I made in each of my papers seemed to be right at the time of me writing them, but when you pointed them out to me after giving back ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Soon after, Tom Hayden, who had just returned from a Freedom Ride in Georgia, spoke with Noonan about his experiences and further inspired, as well as encouraged, Noonan to work with the Movement (Noonan 484). In 1962, Noonan attended a joint SNCC and Students for a Democratic Society (which she was a member of at the time) conference, where she spoke with various SNCC workers (Noonan 484). These conversations convinced Noonan of the logic and practicality of their organization s vision, and the members welcoming spirit convinced Noonan to join SNCC s work with the Southern Freedom Movement (Noonan 485). After her freshman year at the University of Michigan, Noonan told her parents she wanted to drop out of school to work in Mississippi as a full time civil rights organizer (Noonan 485). The Allies reached the western end of the German Gustav Line in Italy in mid Jan 1943. The main German positions generally ran along the valleys created by the Rapido River, Liri River and the Garigliano River. Though it is difficult to identify what the average faith consists of in the Middle Ages, the life told of a radical devotee in The Book of Margery Kempe provides insight to the highly intense version of medieval paths of approaching Christ. Often, literal commands of Jesus such as pilgrimages have two and three fold benefits. Besides the very physical connections with the sacred that they offer arriving at places of sacred history, pilgrimages are also a form of penance for sins. Because of the sacrifice of time, money, and risk to make these pilgrimages, best seen by Kempe s outrageous devotion in leaving behind her life and family for long periods of time, pilgrimages assist in erasing sins in ones life. Another reason that Margery and medieval Christians would embark on these pilgrimages is for the reverence of saints and their relics that they would visit. The Middle Ages emphasized an important connection to the lives of past saints believing that the saints still had power to intercede blessings into the lives of religious people on Earth. Where Margery is set a part from common laity, during her pilgrimage to Jerusalem she receives a special spiritual gift of cryings that she can not control when religious emotion comes over her. • 22. Relationship Between Intelligence And Creativity What is the relationship between intelligence and creativity? In this essay I will explore the correlation between intelligence (IQ) and creativity (DT), and whether one is influenced or can be predicted by the existence of the other. The relationship between IQ (intelligence quotient) and creativity has been an anchor point for psychological research. Numerous amounts of psychologists have carried out research in order to find evidence to support this idea of a correlation or evidence to disprove the hypothesis that IQ and creativity could be related. IQ is defined as a measure of intelligence that shows the ratio of an individual s mental age to their chronological age, this is then multiplied by 100 (Cattel 1972). Creativity cannot be measured by undertaking an IQ test, creativity is subjective and the simplest way of defining it is the ability to create original, useful and surprising new things. However, over the years pioneering research has inspired psychologists to devise tests to measure creativity. The most famous Divergent Thinking test is Guildfords Alternative Uses Task established in 1967. This test proposes that the individual involved should think of alternative uses for a common item such as a brick. This way of measuring Divergent Thinking is universally used in contemporary testing of creativity. The editorial also acknowledges the increasing amount of attention we give to this problem now that it has grown larger and more complex. Also, an increase of taxes ultimately allow the consumers to have the last say in what they consume. The writer argues that an increase of taxes on junk foods is not necessary for society; my research will focus on whether this is true or not. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The presence of cockroaches is often detected by their damage, smell or by the fecal matter (called frass ) they deposit. These are clues which can aid in diagnosing a cockroach problem. Cockroaches may use such things as glue or paste (especially from animal based materials), starch and certain color dyes as foods. As a result, items such as stamps, envelopes, bindings of older books, draperies and occasionally wallpapers may show signs of feeding. The size of the mandible marks and the apparent degree of vigor with which they feed are indications of the type of roach which did the damage. The size and shape of fecal droppings are also clues to the cockroach species involved. The most important aspect of cockroach damage derives from their habit of feeding and harboring in damp and unsanitary places such as sewers, garbage disposals, kitchens, bathrooms, and storage areas indoors. Filth from these sources is spread by the cockroaches to food supplies, food preparation surfaces, dishes, utensils, and other surfaces. Far more food is contaminated by cockroaches than they are able to eat. Diseases transmitted as a result of these habits were discussed earlier. • 30. Theories Of Learning Behavior Theories There are over 100 theories of learning behaviour that can be applied to behaviour in the classroom. In the field of education, research has shown that teachers spend as much time engaged in classroom behaviour management as they do teaching, therefore, this shows the importance of learning behaviour theories. Firstly, what is learning? Learning can be defined as developing newly learnt skills, new knowledge and understanding concepts. We recognise learning as there is a better understanding or a change in behaviour. It is essential to comprehend that learning associates different understandings to many people and is used accordingly in various theories. This essay is divided into three parts: first, addressing the definition of behaviour, secondly, the explanation of a Learning Theory (Behaviourism) and lastly this paper will look at the classical and operant conditioning theory illustrating how these environmental concepts affects children s learning in the classroom. Bulotsky Shearer et al., (2012) mentioned that children who have difficulty regulating their emotions, paying attention, initiating peer interactions and sustaining engagement in learning tasks are at risk for learning difficulties. This essay will demonstrate how the above mentioned behaviours can cause learning difficulties in children in the classroom. • 33. Essay on The Influential Life of Christopher Marlowe During the Renaissance era, Christopher Marlowe impacted and inspired many of his fellow playwrights during his short life. With the success of his plays and poems, some including Tamburlaine the Great and Hero and Leander, came the praise for Marlowe s contemporaries. According to Peter Farey, there were notably few contemporary dramatists whom had anything negative to say about Marlowe, although he received much criticism regarding his personal life. His relatively clean reputation diminished after his first arrest in 1593 and rumors of suspected corruption. It is believed by a copious amount of scholars that Marlowe was a considerably controversial individual in the eyes of spectators during the 16th century. After all, many harbored a ... However, he was fortunate enough to be selected at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge on another scholarship from a former Archbishop of Canterbury named Matthew Parker. The dramatist left Canterbury for university near the end of 1580 and received his B.A. degree in 1584 and later his M.A. several years later. Throughout his relatively short lifespan, Christopher Marlowe flourished remarkably as an artist because of the fruition of his plays and poems. The dramatist s first play, Tamburlaine the Great, was performed on a classic stage in 1587 in London. This play was the first English play to be written in blank verse and has been deliberated to be the beginning of the more mature phase of the Elizabethan theatre. The dramatist also wrote in iambic pentameter, which became very popular before the end of this age (Escoala). Marlowe wrote a total of seven plays and two poems, including Tamburlaine the Great (parts one and two), Doctor Faustus, The Massacre at Paris, and Hero and Leander. The immense success of Marlowe s plays is partly because of the stage presence of actor Edward Alleyn. The role of Tamburlaine in Tamburlaine the Great was most likely written for him, for Alleyn was awfully tall for the time period and the character of Tamburlaine is described to be rather haughty. Above all, Marlowe was admired for his contemporaries during the Renaissance era, with George Peele remembering him as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They re also very different as well. Byron often tries to act cool and tries to not show any emotion. Kenny on the other hand, tends to show his emotion freely. Byron also doesn t do very well in school, unlike Kenny who seems to thrive in school. Kenny could easily be described as inspired. Kenny displays this with his interaction with other characters. For example, he went to talk with his father in the bathroom when his dad was shaving. At that moment Kenny had said that he was also growing mustache. I believe that this is because Kenny looks up to his father and wants to be like him. Another example would be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then in many other experiences Byron carelessly beats up kids not feeling bad afterwards whatsoever. This shows that he is ambivalent because he has mixed feelings about injury and death. He carelessly beats up kids but then when it comes to killing a bird he has a huge breakdown. Another example would be his feelings and action towards Kenny. Sometimes he will be nice and brotherlike with Kenny, but then other times he turns around and then ends up beating up Kenny. When Kenny goes to Byron s class and reads after school Byron in a way congratulates Kenny. • 36. Neo-Marxist Filmmakers Neo Marxist filmmakers were greatly influenced by Althusser s theory of ideology, which viewed film as an ideological apparatus that tried to determine how films turn viewers into their subject, and encourage them to believe not only in the represented reality, but also in their preferred one, the one that could not exist without their structuring. For example, the Jean Louis Baudry s article Ideological effects of the Basic Cinematographic Apparatus (1985) says that the making of movies is a results of the recent capitalism s need to restore in people minds the illusion of having control over their own lives. The illusion was needed for their willing participation in the new industrial style of production that actually took away the remains of their self control. Baudry found ideological properties in the film apparatus itself that constitute a transcendental concentrated subject, and therefore induce a willingness to cooperate with the capitalist mode of production. An observer who accepts the position set by a painting, whereby his or hers eye overlays the painting s point of view, experiences the full illusion of depth. This effect has a strong ideological outcome since, in ideological terms, the painting arranges the viewer space in a centered and organized form that appears to originate from the painting. Laura Mulvey, in Narrative Cinema and Visual Pleasure (1973), uses psychoanalysis as a political weapon to uncover ways in which the patriarchal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde In this book, there exist a battle between good and evil in the main characters where we are bound to ask ourselves what is superior between good and evil? Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are easily seen as an allegory of the evil and good that exists in men. The book depicts the struggle with two sides of the human personality. Since Mr. Hyde seems to be taking over Dr. Jekyll, one could claim that evil is stronger than good. Nevertheless, Mr. Hyde ends up dead at the end of the story, which strongly shows the weakness and the failure of evil, so we have to ask ourselves whether good can be separated from evil. Great people are involved in bad things this is the fact of life, yet this does not make them evil (Stevenson pp 28 75). Using the central characters and the key theme of the duplicity of mankind Robert Louis Stevenson strategically uncovers the broad theme of good and evil in the book. By the use of the character Dr. Jekyll, the author is able to symbolize good . Mr. Utterson who is a lawyer based in London, also an old friend of Dr. Jekyll, has the quality of being loyal to his friends and also concerned about Dr. Jekyll. With this loyalty, he asks him about his pal Mr. Hyde whom he had left his luggage in his will (Cresser N.P). You know I never approved of it, said the doctor. • 38. Exploring The Potential For Addiction On line gaming has grown a great deal in the last decade, connecting players in countries around the world. World of Warcraft is perhaps the best known massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG). These games are incredibly immersive and generally have no real ending, with players able to continue the game indefinitely via expansions and new content being added. A pilot study by Hussain and Griffiths (2009) set out to explore the potential for addiction to an MMORPG, within its psychological and psychosocial effects on players. Generally, studies of MMORPGs have not had a specific focus on addiction or the psychology of on line gaming (as cited in Hussain Griffiths, 2009). At the time of their study, it was estimated that there were five million online gamers worldwide (as cited in Hussain Griffiths, 2009). According to the statistical analysis site Statista, as of 2013 approximately 144.9 million people worldwide are active daily players of online games, an increase of almost 3000 percent. Hussain and Griffiths note that playing an MMORPG can become an escape from a player s real life, and a substitute for the social interactions involved in reality. Therefore, the importance of studying MMORPG s potential for addiction, and research regarding possible pathology, is even more relevant. Hussain and Griffiths explored two hypotheses: (1) assess the impact of online gaming on the lives of gamers, the independent variable being online gaming, the dependent, ...
