Continuous Improvement Themes
Continuous improvement is the act of integrating quality improvement in schools and student
accomplishment, install learning community approaches, and enable instructors to cooperate to
persistently enhance their instructional practices. I believe that learning is a lifelong process and the
recurring nature of continuous improvement plays an essential role of educational beliefs. Continuous
improvement is essential for all districts in hope to keep pace with the rapid changes in education
allowing districts to move from static instructional models to a more flexible continuous improvement
system. The six themes of continuous improvement serve as excellent tools for leaders seeking to
carry out significant change in their districts.
The themes of leadership and strategy and communication and engagement, are essential in ... Show

Reflecting on the theme of data collection and analysis, understanding how to read and utilize data to

capacity, the need to put time and energy in training staff to apply the process into the daily instruction
and develop a structure that may contribute resources, time, and plan vigilantly towards an objective,
is essential and an absolute must.
Reviewing over the six themes for continuous improvement definitely fit into the reasoning and values
of instruction. Learning is an on going practice of incorporating quality improvement into the day by
day work of every member in the district. It is evident that continuous improvement is something that
should be part of our personal desires to become valuable instructors and be able to transform students

Modesto Junior College Symphonic Band Fall Concert
Name: MJC Symphonic Band Fall Concert
Performers: MJC Symphonic Band
Venue: MJC Performing Arts Building
Date: December 4, 2017
Time: 7:00pm
The concert performed Fortress by Frank Tichelli, Parade of the Cliches by Livingston Gearhart,
Military March by Ludwig van Beethoven and arranged by Berkowitz, Symphonic Prelude: Eternal
Father by Elliot Del Borgo, Grand Serenade for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion by P. D. Q.
Bach, and Galop by Dmitri Shostakovich. A major work for contest with the rhythmic excitement of a
processional and an ominous sounding melodic quality. The orchestration is beautifully conceived and
the percussion writing is ideally suited for younger musicians. The piece begins in the percussion very
quietly. All three players should be in equal balance. It is crucial that the timpani be tuned precisely as
indicated. The main idea of the piece, first appearing at measure 12, dominates this section. Careful
attention to balance and intonation should be given to the low brass stating the idea. The call motif is
developed canonically at the tritone, first as a two part canon in tutti, then as a four part canon by
soloists. The soloists should be of equal balance. The legato theme is developed through several keys,
and the entire section builds gradually from piano to fortissimo. The main idea is recalled at measures

Essay on Religion, Politics, and Diplomacy
Those who say religion has nothing to do with politics do not know what religion is (Mahatma
Gandhi). Though many politicians of the day say that government should be in a separate category
than religion, it still plays an important role. Religion may not be big in countries like America, but it
weighs heavily on many other countries all around the world. That is why when doing anything, a
business deal, or a diplomatic trip, there needs to be cautionary measures taken. Two authors go over
the subject of one country understanding another: Journalist Thomas Friedman in his text The Dell
Theory of Conflict Prevention , and former Secretary of State Madeline Albright in her text Faith and
Diplomacy . In both texts the authors stem off ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Albright really wants peace, and as a former Secretary of State she has not seen much. She talks a lot
about religion and how it can be good and bad. People fight wars because of religion; they also die
because of it too.
There can be a level of not understanding a different country s habits and niches. Albright believes a
goal should be set by the government, In the future, no American ambassador should be assigned to a
country where religious feelings are strong unless he or she has a deep understanding of the faiths
commonly practiced there (29). Take this idea of Albright s and expand it to not only diplomats, but
the traveling business man as well. There are many a time when a business man does not know the
culture and religious background of a country, does something silly during a business meeting, and
offends everyone. Let s say if the business man goes to Japan, if they don t follow these rules: No
excessive eye contact, never ever be late for an appointment, avoid wearing lots of jewelry and bright
colors, and others as well, the Japanese business man will get very upset, and that could make
everything bad. If someone does these bad things with the wrong people, like a dignitary, it could
mean war. Examining the tension between China and Taiwan,
Hundreds of big American tech companies now have R D operations in China; a war that disrupted

African American Ethnic Conflict
Could the conflict of the deaths of African Americans shot by white officers be solved? Police officers
are on high alert and may use excessive force. But if they can aid the wounded they should. The
conflict involving African American deaths from the shooting of white officers cannot be completely
resolved because weather or not if the police officer is racist, if the police officer feels endanger they
may use excessive force, but what they can do is at least aid the victim and the police officers don t
need to shoot them multiple times to take them down. The police officers may believe their life is
endangered so they may use excessive force. The officer, Michael T. Slager, 33, said he had feared for

The Product Life Cycle Of Pepsi-Cola
The Product Life Cycle theory was developed by the economist Raymond Vernon in 1966 and this
theory is a widely used model in economics and marketing. According to Raymond Vernon, a product
has a certain life cycle. It begins with its research and development stage and ends with its decline
stage. The product life cycle consists of four stages which are introduction, growth, maturity and
decline stages. Millions of products are produced and consumed every year around the globe and these
products have a life cycle. Existing or long established products will become less popular and also the
demand for new, innovative products will increase rapidly after they are launched. 2.1.1 Introduction

Cell Organelles And Structures
tion of Cell Organelles
Cells are surrounded with a boundary known as the cell surface membrane and as well as holding the
cell together, being semi permeable, it controls the movement of materials across it. Within the cell are
a number of structures each which have specific functions. These structures are known as organelles.
The cell surface membrane and the membranes of any of the membrane bound organelles described
below are made of the same material, a double layer of phospholipid molecules. Within the cell
surface membrane, the intracellular space known as the cytoplasm, contains all the organelles and a
fluid known as cytosol. Within the cytosol is a network of microtubules and fibres called the
cytoskeleton. This cytoskeleton s main functions are to give support to the cell helping to maintain its
shape and aid the movement of organelles. Most cell organelles and structures are common to both
animal and plant cells but there are some differences as outlined in the table below and as seen in fig.

The Effects Of Environmental Stress On Cell Membranes
Introduction:
The purpose of this experiment was to indirectly study the effects of environmental stress on cell
membranes. Watercourses have been with discarding of domestic and manufacturing, for centuries.
Alarms have only escalated about the ecological alterations in the recent years of what would be the
consequences. Scientists have developed a thorough investigation in search of various man harmful
waste that is damaging the environment of watercourses.
The cell membranes are the utmost essential organelle that surrounds all living cells. Its purpose is to
control what goes in and out of the cells and is accountable for the various other properties of the cells
as well. The nucleus and other organelles also have membranes that are practically indistinguishable.
Membranes are organised in a mosaic arrangement, comprised of carbohydrates, proteins and
phospholipids. This can be seen in Figure 1. The objective of this indirect examination is to study the
causes of various solvents and conducts on live beetroot cells. The reason why beetroot cells have
been selected for this experiment is because they have a big membrane bound central vacuole, as seen
in Figure 2. The red colour anthocyanin, which provides the beetroot its bright colour is located in the
vacuole. The cell membrane encloses the whole beetroot cell. The anthocyanin cannot leak out if the
membranes stay unharmed. The red colour can escape if the membranes are hassled or broken.

Agriculture In Mesoamerican Civilization
The Mesoamerican people who inhabited the Western Hemisphere developed independently from the
rest of the world by natural barriers set by oceans to both the east and the west. From the time period
spanning from 1200s BCE to 1500s CE, the Olmecs, Mayans, and Aztecs lived on the isolated land for
centuries, establishing their distinctive scientific and academic achievements. At the other side of the
globe in Mesopotamia, a civilization in the form of a city state called Sumer also incorporated
achievements similar to that of the Olmecs, Mayans, and Aztecs. The extensive use of irrigation was
found in all four groups of people that became a vital part of their life, providing water to crops in
locations not necessarily directly next to a water ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the three civilizations, various methods of dealing with crops were introduced in attempts
of increasing yield and production. The Olmecs developed irrigation, which made agriculture an
important element of Mesoamerican life as it brought surpluses that led to population growth and
civilization expansion. Alongside irrigation is the extensive planting and harvesting of crops like
beans, squash, and especially maize that became the basis and stable crops of the community. The
Mayans continued the agricultural success of the preceding people by draining swamps and erecting
platforms for farming. These two practices greatly expanded the amount of land agriculture could take
place in a geography without vast fertile lands, further leading to population boost and empire
building in addition to the long lasting practice of irrigation. With with the aid of innovations made
into reality by the two previous groups of people, the Aztecs kept the tradition of constant
improvement to current conditions. Building up on the Mayan efforts of draining swamps, the Aztecs
developed Chinampas. These aquatic water beds that acted as floating islands extended the existing
use of irrigation on the rich aquatic environment of the capital, Tenochtitlan. With these multiple
examples and instances of agricultural advancements that continued and improved on the products and
practices of previous civilizations, changes still coexist in the middle as the use of calendar differed
from one civilization to the next despite sharing a root of calendar

A Comparison of A Vendetta by Guy de Maupassant and The Red Room by H.G. Wells I am aiming to
look at the differences and similarities of two writer s methods of creating tension in their stories. The
two stories I am looking at are A Vendetta by Guy de Maupassant and The Red Room by H. G. Wells.
After I have discussed these two stories I will draw a conclusion to show what I have found. A
Vendetta is about a woman s struggle to avenge the death of her son. The writer of this story uses lots
of sounds in his efforts to create tension, such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She also dresses in man s clothes, this also seems strange because it makes you wonder what she is
doing and why she isn t wearing her own clothes. Also the story tells us, The old woman returned
home in the evening. That night she slept soundly. This too creates tension because you wonder how
she can sleep when she has just killed someone and you therefore feel uncomfortable. The colours
used by Guy de Maupassant in A Vendetta create tension too because colours such as black and brown
are used. These colours are dark and traditionally associated with death and evil. This creates tension
because it makes the reader feel uneasy and wonder what plan the woman will concoct and if it will be
evil. During A Vendetta information is revealed gradually. For instance you don t fully understand the
woman s plan until the end. This crates tension because it keeps the reader in suspense and wondering
what will happen. They are also not entirely sure what she is doing throughout the story. In A Vendetta
Guy de Maupassant uses words associated with loneliness such as alone and widow . This creates
tension because it makes the woman seem like a victim and vulnerable, therefore creating an
uncomfortable and uneasy atmosphere. Now I have discussed Guy de Maupassant s techniques for
creating tension I will

The Theme Of Perfection In The Birth-Mark By Nathaniel...
Hawthorne illustrates an awe inspiring example of how human imperfection is natural and the way we
are created is how we shall remain, perfectly imperfect. It is difficult not to consider the world today
and how much plastic surgeons profit and customers pay, just to reflect an ideal image. This story is
published in the eighteenth century, which depicts a mad scientist (Aylmer) who claims to have the
ability to create perfection in the imperfect, Godly creation of his wife (Georgiana). The marriage
union is without happiness because of a small birthmark on Georgiana s cheek, which Aylmer aspires
to eliminate with his impeccable scientific expertise. In his short story The Birth Mark, Nathaniel
Hawthorne illustrates how an obsession ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Georgiana s birth mark is also crimson, Hawthorne foreshadows the danger in relation to the
disappearance or elimination of the specific color. For Aylmer, the obsessive need to remove the
specifically colored mark ends the life of his wife; For Hawthorne and Sophia, the loss of the exact
color presents apprehension and the end of life as they know it.
When the desire for perfection becomes more important than life itself, this proves a greater flaw
within character. Aylmer has a dream of removing the mark, which leads to the death of Georgiana, his
wife. In Aylmer s mind, the mark represents his wife s liability to sin, sorrow, decay and death
(Hawthorne 341). For this reason, he feels the urge to remove it immediately. As time passes,
Georgiana begins to shudder at his gaze (341). She grows to hate the mark that she once felt brought
her beauty and charm. Georgiana s eagerness to eliminate the mark grows stronger than Aylmer s
because she yearns for him to look at her with adoration rather than disgust. The dream, which Aylmer
pays little mind, foreshadows the end result s reality. Aylmer does indeed kill his wife by removal of
the birth mark. He causes the mark to vanish, but as it fades, so does her life. In essence, the goal to
possess other worldly perfection is impossible and not human, in an attempt to create this type of
perfection, life can be

Agent Smith Quotes
I will be asserting, in this argument, through the quotes and actions of Neo and Agent Smith as well as
underlying themes and philosophies throughout the trilogy that, despite what was clearly and
repeatedly implied and stated throughout the trilogy Neo is not actually the savior figure in accordance
with the Oracle s prophecy. Or, rather, that Neo may represent the Messiah to the humans in Zion and
the Matrix, the 1 respectively. However, Agent Smith, the 0 in the integral anomaly, more fully
represent a manifestation of the Oracle s prophecy than even Neo.
I know that in the original Matrix movie, it is very explicitly stated and implied several times that Neo

Agent Smith is directing and leading the other, presumably nameless, Agents. In the initial
interrogation with Thomas Anderson, nee Neo, Agent Smith is the only Agent that speaks, leading the
conversation with Neo. Agent Smith even removes his mirrored sunglasses at several points
throughout the film. Smith is also seen to remove his earpiece, which represents the Agent program s
connection to the rest of the Machines, during his interrogation of Morpheus. In that same scene,
Smith gives a monologue directed at Morpheus emphasizing Smith s desire to get out of the Matrix, in
which he describes things as tasting and smelling. Unusual for a program to describe, as we don t see
either of the other Agent s exhibiting any other form of individuality or human like characteristics in
any other scene they are in.
Smith s uniqueness extends beyond the increasing individualization and rebellion against his fellow

characteristics that the humans will be able to attribute to the One, the Prime Program or, as the

Animal Cruelty, And The Four Types Of Animal Abuse
Animal abuse and cruelty does not just specialize in just one type of animal. It is more diverse that it is
right. Animal abuse can mean many different things, like an animal tied to a tree or something where
they do not have the mobility that they need or have access to food and water. It can also mean making
animals fight till one or both can no longer stand up for themselves of till one of them is dead or not
both. Another type of animal cruelty or abuse is poaching whales for their blubber or rhinos or
elephants for the horns or tusk to sell on the black market. There actually is a lot more kinds of animal
abuse and cruelty like trophy hunting, testing harsh chemicals and products on animals, also with the
food we consume; some of those animals never get to see the light of day or get to breath fresh air.
Luckily there are some groups or organizations out there who want to help and are willing to. Just to
name a few there is the Humane Society, ASPCA, PETA, and the United States of Americas Congress.
So much has happened recently that the US has broken it down into four categories, simple or gross
neglect; intentional abuse and torture; organized abuse, including dogfighting and cockfighting; and
animal sexual abuse (Fricker, Peter. Increase Penalties for Animal Cruelty; it s Now a Felony in U.S. ).
Animal abuse and cruelty have been around for centuries. It was in 1641 that the Puritans of
Massachusetts Bay Colony passed The Bodies of Liberties, which forbade cruelty to animals (Ramsey,
S., Esq. (2013). Enforcing your state animal cruelty laws. Deputy and Court Officer, 5(3), 31 35). That
was just the start of animal rights spreading across the US. Maine happened to be the first state to pass
an animals protection law, while today South Dakota is the last state to make it a felony. There is still a
long way to go before animals can finally live in peace, but the US has made progress over the years.
Now been said about Maine and South Dakota with their laws and regulations North Carolina has
passed a law banning animal activist from secret filming of the livestock treatment (Tracy, T. 2015,
Jun 03). Now saying that the reason they put this law into effect was to help the employer if someone

Abstract: Steganography is a kind of secret communication method used to hide secret data in some
digital media such as images, audio etc. Cryptography and watermarking are other similar techniques.
Data is secured using these methods, but the fact that data is present somewhere gives us a specific
target, whereas sole purpose of steganography is that none must know there is some hidden data in the
file. So, steganography easily has upper hand over cryptography and watermarking. Steganography
can use almost all kinds of media present over internet to transmit secret data. In this paper, we review
some audio steganography techniques, their algorithms and some challenges faced in their design and
implementation. We will look in detail some modified techniques for audio steganography. Also, we
look at the problems faced with using mp3 files as cover media.
Introduction
Steganography is the science of hiding information so that it remains undetected except by its intended
receiver. Need of steganography arises when one needs to communicate privately and he cannot risk
to arouse the suspicion by sending encrypted message in plain sight.

her referred to as the land of the free . The United States Supreme Court, however, has recently

Marzano Action Plan
A. Action plan summary implemented at Napavine School District One action plan that Napavine
School District has implemented is the utilization of the Marzano Instructional Framework as a guide
to student learning and professional growth. Both the elementary and junior/senior high schools have
adopted the Marzano framework and staff use it throughout the school year to identify student
learning needs, set educational goals, address areas of weakness, build our school improvement plan
(SIP) and for teacher evaluation. It has become our foundation for school improvement. 1. Key
performance measures relative to this action plan are that our SIP will identify Marzano instructional
practices on a yearly basis as a school wide focus for implementation and/or improvement (strategy
3). Also, student growth meetings will be held each fall between school administrators and teachers
and will revolve around students at risk of falling behind their peers and student sub groups that may
be collectively behind the total student population, thus closing the achievement gap (strategy 4).
Building administrators will be proactive in arranging time for instructional rounds to facilitate
professional growth among teachers. B. Performance projections related to this plan In order to project
how our students will perform with our use of Marzano Instructional Frameworks, we first review
data from our previous years Smarter Balanced Assessment, grades 9 12 and Measurement of

Gothic Architecture And Its Impact On The Modern World
Technology, culture, architecture, and all other aspects of Earth are on an ever evolving cycle,
reaching closer and closer to perfection at each tick of the clock. Witnessing these developments is
like candy to our eyes, as we dwell in the research and creation of new models. Imagine the base
model of all development as a Romanesque style of architecture, and the more improved model as
gothic. Because gothic architecture was formed over a span of 5 centuries later than that of the
romans, it is an obvious factor that more profound techniques were formed and better structures were
built. Today I am going to take you on a visual tour of the two most well known cathedrals in
Medieval times. The first, Le Puy Cathedral, is centered on volcanic rock looking over Le Puy,
France. It features an entirely Romanesque architectural design, and follows just about every common
rule of roman architecture. The second cathedral you will journey through is the Exeter Cathedral,
which demonstrates an entirely opposite design. The gothic architecture of this building is depicted on
all sides, and can be seen on even the smallest of items within the cathedral. Both of these complex
structures feature distinct designs, each with their own intended purpose. These visual walkthroughs
will touch on the buildings architectural aspects and why they were selected to impress their visitors.

Cheerios Effect Essay
Have you ever wondered why your cereal clusters together after milk is poured or why it sticks to the
side of your bowl? Even if you try to pull them apart, they come together again. This is a spectacle
that happens every day but we just don t really notice it. Most people don t really realize that it s
happening everyday. Using fluid mechanics, we can determine why floating objects come together due
to surface tension, viscosity and buoyancy (Grayson, 2014). This cheerios effect also applies to other
floating objects such as paperclips. The main principles that cause objects to float together are surface
tension, buoyancy and viscosity. Surface tension is caused by the presence ... Show more content on

When cheerios is put in milk, it creates a dent in the milks surface. Milk is attracted to the sides of the
bowl; the milk forms a concave shape. The molecules being attracted to the bowl pulls the cheerios to
the sides of the bowl. The surface tension under the milk is pulling the molecules down. Even if you
try pulling apart the cheerios, the cheerios will stick together again. In water, an object has to be less
dense than water to float. The same goes for cereal, which is less dense than milk and allows them to
float. In liquids, cohesive forces are strong enough to keep molecules together but weak enough to
slide past each other. Fluids with high viscosity have strong cohesive forces and fluids with low
cohesive forces have weak cohesive forces. Viscosity can be calculated by its flow rate. Liquids with
low viscosity have a high flow rate such as milk and water. Liquids with high viscosity have low flow
rates such as honey. Milk has a low viscosity but different types of milk have different viscosity rates.
Fat free milk flows faster than milk with fat content. Whole milk has a higher viscosity than fat

The Wachowski Brothers The Matrix
The Matrix is a film directed by the Wachowski Brothers depicting a future in which machines rule.
The machines have created a complex computer program called the matrix which simulates a form of
reality. The machines have enslaved humans by hooking them up to the matrix so that they can harvest
them as an energy source. A number of people have been able to escape the matrix and they continue
to fight the war against the machines in hopes of being able to free everyone still trapped within the
matrix. Throughout the film the main characters Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity enter back into the
matrix several times for various reasons. Because the film bounces back and forth between reality and
the matrix, the film induces a strong theme of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The matrix sets were designed to have a worn and torn look that was imposing and grid like. The
scenes depicting the characters in the real world mostly took place on the ship, Nebuchadnezzar.
These sets were designed to have a patched up look where the wires and components of the ship were
clearly visible, communicating the idea to the audience that the ship is a marriage between man and
machine. In addition to how the sets looked, how the scenes were shot within those sets added to
theme as well. When the characters were within the matrix, the scenes were shot using a green tint,
mimicking the feel of early monochrome computer monitors. When the characters were in the real
world, they used a blue tint and longer shot lenses which soften the background while putting more
emphasis on the characters.
As I also mentioned earlier, the actual appearance of the characters in the film is another component in
the theme of appearance verses reality. When the main characters are in the real world, they are shown
with having a connection port on the back of their necks. This connection port is the means by which
the characters can reconnect to the matrix. The characters were also depicted in the real world as
wearing clothes with a more textile feel, and hair that is less stylized. When compared to how these
characters are depicted when they are inside the

happens if you get caught using drugs in sports Drug testing is the evaluation of a urine, blood, hair or

HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and lung disease. All drugs also affect the mind.If you get caught with drugs you

fired from a job, or not be hired for a job. I m the NFL you could be suspended for a couple games or
a season if you get caught with them enough you could be kicked out of the NFL. Same is for the
MLB or the NBA. In high school you could be suspended a couple games or you could be put on
probation or put in drug counseling. You you get caught enough more than likely you will be sent off.

Gospel Of Wealth And Poverty Analysis
During the time of World War I, the United States was dealing with a lot of internal problems. At the
time before the war, Darwinism is very prominent. The working class looked to those in poverty as if
they were the scum of the earth. Then there was the gospel of wealth. The gospel of wealth believed
the things that you have is a divine blessing and has favor in the eyes of God (Roark, Johnson, Cohen,

Restoring And Improving Urban Infrastructure
The Engineering Grand Challenge of restoring and improving urban infrastructure involves a
foundation of challenges faced by architectural engineers today. Specifically, it is about repairing the
infrastructure of a society, including its power grids, water infrastructure, roads, bridges, sustainable
structures, and anything that provides support to our thriving lifestyle. Admittedly, improving
infrastructure is an important challenge that can be fixed if there are new systems put in place that
allow for improvement at any time in the future. The challenge of restoring and improving an urban
infrastructure can be accomplished, but there need to be technological advances, and support from the
government. Equally important is the need for programs with sufficient financial resources that can
provide for a more up to date installation of the various components of an urban infrastructure.
Perhaps, the best way to solve the Grand Challenge of restoring and improving infrastructure would
be to apply the new technologies that have been investigated and tested the most, and put them into
action. There is no doubt that the infrastructure from the 20th century has been a great
accomplishment, however, we have pushed the problem of improving and restoring the infrastructure
off for years, when it is in current need of repair. Moving forward, it is a necessity that our old
infrastructure be replaced and re engineered the best it can be. Additionally, infrastructure needs to be

Leadership Is An Integral Part Of Society Essay
Leadership is an integral part of society, without leadership there would be chaos. Leadership calls for
action in terms of guidance, decision making, structure and control, these qualities are necessary and
evident within organizations. After World War I organizations were finding it difficult to organize and
operate efficiently. It was in this period Frederick Taylor s Scientific Management framework took
precedence in organizations. Taylor introduced a systematic, strategic and scientific method to aid
organizations in recovering from the effects of the war, moving towards high levels of productivity,
efficacy and efficiency.
Taylor s principles highlighted the need for division of responsibility, a systematic and strategic way
of choosing and training employees for specific roles, breaking down jobs into smaller tasks and
extending to management the responsibility of setting objectives for the organization. Following
Taylor was French industrialist, Henri Fayol who contributed the administrative structure of planning,
coordinating, commanding, controlling and organizing. Within this defining period of the Industrial
Revolution, management theories, literature contributions, and scientific inquiry began to advance.
Various schools of thought became prominent in Europe, which trickled down to the West. The move
for an industrialized world was taking form, creating structure, rules, and procedures to ensure
continuity in these industries. Max Weber, a German sociologist

Globalization And The Impact Of Globalization In The...
Globalization in Medellin has been distributed unevenly throughout the years. Medellin has benefitted
from the effects of globalization in the security and energy efficiency sector, especially with the
emergence of the Metrocables (Brand, 2013). However, globalization has yet to have a significant
impact on the political and economic development of the city, and even throughout Colombia itself.
Despite the lack of impact caused by globalization in these areas, they have still improved in
comparison to their prior status in the 1990 s (Moncada, 2016). Medellin can use globalization as a
tool to decrease unemployment rates and increase the value of their economy, which they have begun
to do in moderation. Those who were previously excluded from the effects of globalization in
Medellin are slowly being integrated into the globalizing of the city with the development of the
Metrocables, with the intention of establishing the government s concern for those living in
disadvantaged areas, since the Metrocables are built in the poorest sectors of Medellin (Brand, 2013).
The areas that these Metrocables are situated in have seen commercial changes, resulting in the
number of businesses multiplying and thus creating new job opportunities for those who are
unemployed and growing the economic sector of globalization in Medellin (Agudelo, et al. 2013).

Compare And Contrast Antigone And Othello
Antigone was brave to stand up against the men in charge in her time and she died not because she
necessarily had a flaw but because she never gave upon her beliefs. Othello s flaw was succumbing to
jealousy which leads to his downfall. While both characters can be considered tragic hero s we can see
many similarities and differences as we observe them through Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero.
Aristotle breaks down tragic hero s by the hamartia, hubris, and the peripeteia. These describe the
downfall of a hero, their reversal in fortune, and the disrespect for the natural order of things. After
comparing Antigone and Othello through Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero, I believe that Antigone
is closer to a true tragic hero than Othello.
While Antigone did not have a thematic flaw like Othello did, her headstrong attitude and
unwillingness to let her Uncle Creon giver her brother Polyneices an improper burial would set the
chain of events leading to her downfall. The Hamartia is the tragic flaw that causes the hero s
downfall, and in this sense the greater tragedy is that Antigone could not escape death because her
character strongly believed the laws of the Heavens were greater than those of Creon s. No matter how
she chose to argue against Creon, her end result would have been grave, they considered stoning her
before locking her in a tomb and starving her. Antigone ultimately decided to take her own life rather
than have her convictions broken, something we can clearly see when she boldly states If life must be
a thing of fear and lying and compromise; if life cannot be free, gallant, incorruptible then, Creon, I
choose death! .
Othello was a beloved and respected general in the Venetian army, but through a paranoid fit of
jealousy he conspires with Iago to kill his wife and her thought to be lover Cassio. While it is clear
that the theme of Othello is jealousy, the green eyed monster , Othello never has solid proof of the
affair. Most of the evidence is circumstantial, but word of mouth through Iago coupled with Othello s
extreme jealousy pushes him to desire to murder his wife Desdemona and close friend Cassio. Othello
claims to have a profound love for Desdemona but it simply takes one

In other work on creating a natural environment, Basdogan et al. [?] find that haptic technology can be
used to simulate realistic surgery tool tissue interactions including organ force responses. Bara and
Gentaz [?] show that children using both visual and haptic sensory channels in letter recognition and
handwriting training have higher improvement in performance than using only the visual sensory
channel.
Although this and other research shows the benefit of utilizing haptic feedback
in different areas, more research is needed to explore how haptically enhanced touchscreens can help
users with touch based interactions.
Recently, researchers have developed surface haptic displays which introduces electroadhesion to
produce adhesive friction force on the finger. By dynamically adjusting the adhesive force, the
touchscreen can provide the feeling of different surface texture in response to finger movements. This
paper examines how surface haptic technologies incorporate with bullseye menu can improve the
performance of touchscreen interaction when visual feedback is reduced or unavailable.
Our results show that haptic feedback can improve the accuracy in touch interaction when visual
feedback is not available.

Increase Of Working Memory During The Same Period
increase of working memory during the same period (Jha, 2010). The study also found that in addition
to the gains in working memory capacity, the group that meditated had increased self reported positive
affect. Positive affect is how we experience feelings and emotions, in other words it is our moods.
Because affect is a psycho physiological construct that involves alertness and motivational intensity,
the benefits of mindful meditation on positive affect is invaluable for a soldier s effectiveness.
Cognitive Flexibility Cognitive flexibility like working memory is part of the higher order cognition
of executive functioning. The definition of cognitive flexibility varies slightly depending on the
viewpoint, but they all address the main point of having the ability to adjust situational thinking. The
ability to control thinking has significant importance because it directly affects the ability to bypass
the automatic pathways of prior learning and look at things from a different perspective. Cognitive
flexibility not only includes the ability to change thoughts about something, but it also allows for
changing what is thought about. Essentially, it permits the redirecting of attention in response to
changes in stimuli, rules or demands. Greater cognitive flexibility also increases the capability of
simultaneously attending to two aspects of a situation. While investigating the benefits of mindful
meditation, researchers found, Based on our own data, we may

The Work Of The Textile Industry Of A Man By The Name...
In America a man by the name Isaac Singer was working on a product that would change the textile
industry for forever. Singer lived from 1811 until 1875 and contributed too many successful models
both in business and that of design. These contributions would be seen over the next 2000 years.
When Isaac Singer was growing up he was being influenced by some of the large changes going on
around in the world. After Napoleon s defeat in 1814 an era of peace began. This would kick start a
world of mechanization. In the time that singer s sewing machine was being designed and produced
the United States other countries were at the peak of the design reform. This reform has several
implications on Singer and his machine. His sewing machine was made ... Show more content on

One of these designers was Samuel Colt. His approach to interchangeability of parts would be one that
influenced many designers to come. This interchangeability could be found among singers machine
and this made the up keep of his sewing machine easy. Another benefactor in Isaac s contraption was
Adam Smith s division of labour and Wgatt s guidelines for metal work. While this was still frowned
upon in the time of reform it was softened by the standardization of labour and the introduction of
education and laws. Another concept that was brought up in America was Eli Whitney s model that
involved the reduction of hard labour and this was demonstrated in his Machine, the Cotton Gin. This
machine was used to save labours hours separating cotton, this concept of using mechanization to find
ease in production was adopted into Singers sewing machine. At this time in history women were
starting to have more of a voice and were taking on more household tasks and this ease of fabrication
for textiles rather than hand stitching was very appealing. However this revolutionary machine may
have been more on the industrial side and was not something that you would show off on your house
as an ornament.
Isaac Singers three prong approach to design and marketing he stormed the world fair in England.
With Singer focusing on marketing that involved social movements that started to

The Economic Crisis Of Iceland
Even though freedom for the private sector is a virtue, there should be government regulation in place
due to corporate official s inability to satiate their hunger for personal wealth endangering the global
economy and the event in 2008 which was the global economic crisis occurring which could have
been prevented or at least lessened.
Iceland is known for its beautiful landscapes and vast expanses of nature. Human civilization sparsely
dots the land creating an aura of solitude everywhere you go. Iceland can boast that it has good
education, clean air, and barely any crime. However, in 2000 the government in Iceland initiated a
plan for a broad policy of deregulation. Which would begin a set of disastrous events.
Iceland began with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
American accounting firms audited the Icelandic banks and investment firms which found nothing to
be out of the ordinary. Credit rating agencies reported that Iceland was blooming in the economy.
Credit rating agencies promoted the banks to the highest possible rating of Triple A in 2007.
Then in 2008 Iceland s banks collapsed causing countless people to lose their savings. Unemployment
tripled in the six months. Government regulators, whose job was to ensure financial stability, had done
nothing. One third of Iceland s regulators worked at those banks. This problem exists the U.S.
In September of 2008 the U.S. investment bank Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy and the
collapse of AIG, the world s largest insurance company, initiated the global financial crisis. The effect
this had on shares globally was catastrophic. This in turn cost the world tens of trillions of dollars,
doubling the national debt of the Unites States and rendering thirty million people unemployed. This
crisis was not an accident. It was caused by an industry which had no supervision.
Since the 1980 s the rise of the U.S. financial sector has led to a series of increasingly dire financial
crisis. Each one of them causing more damage while the industry has made more and more money.
After the Great Depression the U.S. had forty years of economic growth without another crisis.

Why Is Hillary Clinton Unfair
In the first presidential debate, we can see that Hillary Clinton was the clear winner. She was very
prepared and acted professional throughout the debate. She answered the questions thoroughly and in
a manner that helped portray her political agenda. In this first debate, she began to give the viewers a
sense of what it would be like with her in office. Unlike her opponent, Donald Trump, she did not
speak out of turn and respected the moderator, Lester Holt. The questions asked throughout this first
debate were overall unfair. The questions asked of Secretary Clinton were ones that she was fully
prepared for and that made her look like the more intelligent candidate. The questions asked of Mr.
Trump were ones of controversy, making

Benefit Of The International Space Station
Benefits of the International Space Station to Earth Space is a place where no ground can be felt,
sound can t be heard, and every direction is endless darkness. There are people who spend their lives
studying space and how it differs from Earth. With the help of experts from 15 nations, The
International Space Station (ISS) has been built. The space station travels in our orbit at 17,500 miles
per hour and orbits the earth every ninety minutes. The ISS gives scientists a better understanding of
how life works in zero gravity.
The space station was not always there. It took about thirteen years to complete, and it all started in
1984. On January 25, 1984, President Ronald Reagan s State of the Union Address directed the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to build an international space station within
the next 10 years. (History and Timeline). That was the first time anyone had ever heard of a space
station and they had no idea what it could be used for. In November of 1998, Russia launched the
Russian Zarya control module into orbit which the first piece of the ISS. (History and Timeline)
Technology was not the greatest back then so it took another two years for the station to be suitable for
people to live on it. It is not easy to get parts and payloads to the space station. To get a shuttle up to
the ISS, scientists must make extreme calculations and time every move made precisely. to match the
speed and position of the space station. The first crew

The Between The Monster Grendel And The Old Testament
Allusions to the Books Genesis and Wisdom: The interconnection between the monster Grendel and
the Old Testament
Beowulf displays Christian influences in the description of Grendel especially through the allusion to
the Old Testament. Initially, Grendel is presented as a monster that simply kills without any
justification in why he decides to act in such fashion. However, as one alludes to the Old Testament
specifically to the Book Genesis and the Book Wisdom, the reasoning behind Grendel s actions
become clear. Grendel s tendency to kill out purely out of rage, provides a parallel to the biblical story
of Cain and Abel, which explores the preposterousness of Grendel s human aspects. The monster

The interconnection between Grendel and Cain shows the human side of Grendel, although Grendel s
nature is a monster, he displays human traits of emotion which are exaggerated to the extent of
irrational behavior reinforced through It was no long wait, but the very next night he committed a
greater murder, mourned not at all, for his feuds and sins he was too fixed in them (Beowulf 134 37).
This results in their fates being intertwined in the way they carry their burden of being condemned by
god, reinforced in Grendel s hints of human emotion when He went away wrenched, deprived of joy,
to find his place of death, mankind s foe (Beowulf 1274 75). Ultimately, the biblical story of Cain and
Abel in the Book Genesis explores Grendel s character and motive though the expression of human
emotion as well as the evil nature rooted in the origins of Cain s sin of fratricide.
Grendel, besides the heavy influence of Cain and his sin of fratricide, is also portrayed as a
representative of God s anger towards the Pagans caused by their lack of piety. Neidorf argues that
Grendel s presence after the extinction of the giants caused by the flood links Cain with postdiluvian
monsters, implying God s failed attempt to eliminate the evil that originated from Cain. Neidorf
presents that Grendel alongside other monsters is part of the battle between the evil monsters and God
himself. Scholar, Daniel Anlezark similarly argues God sent mute animals such as Grendel,

Revised Order Of The Sacraments Of Initiation
Revised Order of the Sacraments of Initiation Bishop Álvaro Corrada said, The sacraments draw
humanity into the truth and love of God revealed in Christ, thereby disposing the faithful to live this
love more deeply in their daily lives of Christian freedom and witness. They serve to introduce us into
the Catholic Church, increase our understanding of our religion, bestow upon us essential Christian
virtues, and strengthen our faith. There are seven sacraments in total: Baptism, Confirmation,
Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Marriage.
The first three Sacraments listed are the Sacraments of Initiation. The Sacraments of Christian
Initiation Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist lay the foundations of every Christian life...By
means of these Sacraments of Christian Initiation, [we] thus receive in increasing measure the
treasures of the divine life and advance toward the perfection of charity. (CCC Chapter 1, Article
2:1212) These sacraments represent our birth into the Church, the seal of our birth into the Church,
and the reception of Jesus body. In the words of the Catholic Church, The Christian is born anew by
Baptism, strengthened by Confirmation, and receives in the Eucharist the food of eternal life. (CCC
Chapter 1, Article 2:1212)
In the early Church, the three Sacraments of Initiation were practiced in one significant process. When
the person reached a point of spiritual maturity (usually as an adult, contrary to today), he

Grand Canyon University Student Analysis
A true scholar is one who is able to extract from a learning experience, a holistic and well rounded
interpretation and a world view. Enrollment at GCU, presents the student with an opportunity to
pursue that ideal. With the embodiment of the four pillars offered; academic advancement, Christian
camaraderie, extracurricular excellence and wellness and well being , (Grand Canyon University,
n.d.), one is given the best opportunity to become an even more well rounded individual. This is what
makes the difference by comparison to a non faith based university; a belief and a system that operates
on the premise that a quality education coexists with faith in the 21st century (Grand Canyon

The orchestration is beautifully conceived and the percussion writing is ideally suited for younger musicians. The piece begins in the percussion very quietly. All three players should be in equal balance. It is crucial that the timpani be tuned precisely as indicated. The main idea of the piece, first appearing at measure 12, dominates this section. Careful attention to balance and intonation should be given to the low brass stating the idea. The call motif is developed canonically at the tritone, first as a two part canon in tutti, then as a four part canon by soloists. The soloists should be of equal balance. The legato theme is developed through several keys, and the entire section builds gradually from piano to fortissimo. The main idea is recalled at measures 83 87 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay on Religion, Politics, and Diplomacy Those who say religion has nothing to do with politics do not know what religion is (Mahatma Gandhi). Though many politicians of the day say that government should be in a separate category than religion, it still plays an important role. Religion may not be big in countries like America, but it weighs heavily on many other countries all around the world. That is why when doing anything, a business deal, or a diplomatic trip, there needs to be cautionary measures taken. Two authors go over the subject of one country understanding another: Journalist Thomas Friedman in his text The Dell Theory of Conflict Prevention , and former Secretary of State Madeline Albright in her text Faith and Diplomacy . She talks a lot about religion and how it can be good and bad. People fight wars because of religion; they also die because of it too. There can be a level of not understanding a different country s habits and niches. Albright believes a goal should be set by the government, In the future, no American ambassador should be assigned to a country where religious feelings are strong unless he or she has a deep understanding of the faiths commonly practiced there (29). Take this idea of Albright s and expand it to not only diplomats, but the traveling business man as well. There are many a time when a business man does not know the culture and religious background of a country, does something silly during a business meeting, and offends everyone. Let s say if the business man goes to Japan, if they don t follow these rules: No excessive eye contact, never ever be late for an appointment, avoid wearing lots of jewelry and bright colors, and others as well, the Japanese business man will get very upset, and that could make everything bad. If someone does these bad things with the wrong people, like a dignitary, it could mean war. According to Raymond Vernon, a product has a certain life cycle. It begins with its research and development stage and ends with its decline stage. The product life cycle consists of four stages which are introduction, growth, maturity and decline stages. Millions of products are produced and consumed every year around the globe and these products have a life cycle. Existing or long established products will become less popular and also the demand for new, innovative products will increase rapidly after they are launched. 2.1.1 Introduction After developing a new product, it will be introduced into the consumer market. Cell Organelles And Structures tion of Cell Organelles Cells are surrounded with a boundary known as the cell surface membrane and as well as holding the cell together, being semi permeable, it controls the movement of materials across it. Within the cell are a number of structures each which have specific functions. These structures are known as organelles. The cell surface membrane and the membranes of any of the membrane bound organelles described below are made of the same material, a double layer of phospholipid molecules. Within the cell surface membrane, the intracellular space known as the cytoplasm, contains all the organelles and a fluid known as cytosol. Within the cytosol is a network of microtubules and fibres called the cytoskeleton. This cytoskeleton s main functions are to give support to the cell helping to maintain its shape and aid the movement of organelles. Watercourses have been with discarding of domestic and manufacturing, for centuries. Alarms have only escalated about the ecological alterations in the recent years of what would be the consequences. Scientists have developed a thorough investigation in search of various man harmful waste that is damaging the environment of watercourses. The cell membranes are the utmost essential organelle that surrounds all living cells. Its purpose is to control what goes in and out of the cells and is accountable for the various other properties of the cells as well. The nucleus and other organelles also have membranes that are practically indistinguishable. Membranes are organised in a mosaic arrangement, comprised of carbohydrates, proteins and phospholipids. This can be seen in Figure 1. The objective of this indirect examination is to study the causes of various solvents and conducts on live beetroot cells. The reason why beetroot cells have been selected for this experiment is because they have a big membrane bound central vacuole, as seen in Figure 2. The red colour anthocyanin, which provides the beetroot its bright colour is located in the vacuole. The cell membrane encloses the whole beetroot cell. The anthocyanin cannot leak out if the membranes stay unharmed. The red colour can escape if the membranes are hassled or broken. Abstract: Ethanol disrupts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the time period spanning from 1200s BCE to 1500s CE, the Olmecs, Mayans, and Aztecs lived on the isolated land for centuries, establishing their distinctive scientific and academic achievements. At the other side of the globe in Mesopotamia, a civilization in the form of a city state called Sumer also incorporated achievements similar to that of the Olmecs, Mayans, and Aztecs. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the three civilizations, various methods of dealing with crops were introduced in attempts of increasing yield and production. The Olmecs developed irrigation, which made agriculture an important element of Mesoamerican life as it brought surpluses that led to population growth and civilization expansion. Alongside irrigation is the extensive planting and harvesting of crops like beans, squash, and especially maize that became the basis and stable crops of the community. The Mayans continued the agricultural success of the preceding people by draining swamps and erecting platforms for farming. These two practices greatly expanded the amount of land agriculture could take place in a geography without vast fertile lands, further leading to population boost and empire building in addition to the long lasting practice of irrigation. With with the aid of innovations made into reality by the two previous groups of people, the Aztecs kept the tradition of constant improvement to current conditions. Building up on the Mayan efforts of draining swamps, the Aztecs developed Chinampas. These aquatic water beds that acted as floating islands extended the existing use of irrigation on the rich aquatic environment of the capital, Tenochtitlan. The two stories I am looking at are A Vendetta by Guy de Maupassant and The Red Room by H. G. Wells. After I have discussed these two stories I will draw a conclusion to show what I have found. She also dresses in man s clothes, this also seems strange because it makes you wonder what she is doing and why she isn t wearing her own clothes. Also the story tells us, The old woman returned home in the evening. That night she slept soundly. This too creates tension because you wonder how she can sleep when she has just killed someone and you therefore feel uncomfortable. The colours used by Guy de Maupassant in A Vendetta create tension too because colours such as black and brown are used. These colours are dark and traditionally associated with death and evil. This creates tension because it makes the reader feel uneasy and wonder what plan the woman will concoct and if it will be evil. During A Vendetta information is revealed gradually. For instance you don t fully understand the woman s plan until the end. This crates tension because it keeps the reader in suspense and wondering what will happen. They are also not entirely sure what she is doing throughout the story. In A Vendetta Guy de Maupassant uses words associated with loneliness such as alone and widow . This creates tension because it makes the woman seem like a victim and vulnerable, therefore creating an uncomfortable and uneasy atmosphere. • 12. The Theme Of Perfection In The Birth-Mark By Nathaniel... Hawthorne illustrates an awe inspiring example of how human imperfection is natural and the way we are created is how we shall remain, perfectly imperfect. It is difficult not to consider the world today and how much plastic surgeons profit and customers pay, just to reflect an ideal image. This story is published in the eighteenth century, which depicts a mad scientist (Aylmer) who claims to have the ability to create perfection in the imperfect, Godly creation of his wife (Georgiana). The marriage union is without happiness because of a small birthmark on Georgiana s cheek, which Aylmer aspires to eliminate with his impeccable scientific expertise. Georgiana s birth mark is also crimson, Hawthorne foreshadows the danger in relation to the disappearance or elimination of the specific color. For Aylmer, the obsessive need to remove the specifically colored mark ends the life of his wife; For Hawthorne and Sophia, the loss of the exact color presents apprehension and the end of life as they know it. When the desire for perfection becomes more important than life itself, this proves a greater flaw within character. Aylmer has a dream of removing the mark, which leads to the death of Georgiana, his wife. In Aylmer s mind, the mark represents his wife s liability to sin, sorrow, decay and death (Hawthorne 341). For this reason, he feels the urge to remove it immediately. As time passes, Georgiana begins to shudder at his gaze (341). She grows to hate the mark that she once felt brought her beauty and charm. Georgiana s eagerness to eliminate the mark grows stronger than Aylmer s because she yearns for him to look at her with adoration rather than disgust. The dream, which Aylmer pays little mind, foreshadows the end result s reality. Aylmer does indeed kill his wife by removal of the birth mark. He causes the mark to vanish, but as it fades, so does her life. Agent Smith Quotes I will be asserting, in this argument, through the quotes and actions of Neo and Agent Smith as well as underlying themes and philosophies throughout the trilogy that, despite what was clearly and repeatedly implied and stated throughout the trilogy Neo is not actually the savior figure in accordance with the Oracle s prophecy. Or, rather, that Neo may represent the Messiah to the humans in Zion and the Matrix, the 1 respectively. However, Agent Smith, the 0 in the integral anomaly, more fully represent a manifestation of the Oracle s prophecy than even Neo. There actually is a lot more kinds of animal abuse and cruelty like trophy hunting, testing harsh chemicals and products on animals, also with the food we consume; some of those animals never get to see the light of day or get to breath fresh air. Luckily there are some groups or organizations out there who want to help and are willing to. Just to name a few there is the Humane Society, ASPCA, PETA, and the United States of Americas Congress. So much has happened recently that the US has broken it down into four categories, simple or gross neglect; intentional abuse and torture; organized abuse, including dogfighting and cockfighting; and animal sexual abuse (Fricker, Peter. Increase Penalties for Animal Cruelty; it s Now a Felony in U.S. ). Animal abuse and cruelty have been around for centuries. It was in 1641 that the Puritans of Massachusetts Bay Colony passed The Bodies of Liberties, which forbade cruelty to animals (Ramsey, S., Esq. (2013). Enforcing your state animal cruelty laws. Deputy and Court Officer, 5(3), 31 35). That was just the start of animal rights spreading across the US. Maine happened to be the first state to pass an animals protection law, while today South Dakota is the last state to make it a felony. There is still a long way to go before animals can finally live in peace, but the US has made progress over the years. Now been said about Maine and South Dakota with their laws and regulations North Carolina has passed a law banning animal activist from secret filming of the livestock treatment (Tracy, T. 2015, Jun 03). Of Computer Engg, Punjabi University, Patiala Email: deepgaurav48@gmail.com Abstract: Steganography is a kind of secret communication method used to hide secret data in some digital media such as images, audio etc. Cryptography and watermarking are other similar techniques. Data is secured using these methods, but the fact that data is present somewhere gives us a specific target, whereas sole purpose of steganography is that none must know there is some hidden data in the file. So, steganography easily has upper hand over cryptography and watermarking. Steganography can use almost all kinds of media present over internet to transmit secret data. In this paper, we review some audio steganography techniques, their algorithms and some challenges faced in their design and implementation. We will look in detail some modified techniques for audio steganography. Also, we look at the problems faced with using mp3 files as cover media. Introduction Steganography is the science of hiding information so that it remains undetected except by its intended receiver. Need of steganography arises when one needs to communicate privately and he cannot risk to arouse the suspicion by sending encrypted message in plain sight. Action plan summary implemented at Napavine School District One action plan that Napavine School District has implemented is the utilization of the Marzano Instructional Framework as a guide to student learning and professional growth. Both the elementary and junior/senior high schools have adopted the Marzano framework and staff use it throughout the school year to identify student learning needs, set educational goals, address areas of weakness, build our school improvement plan (SIP) and for teacher evaluation. It has become our foundation for school improvement. 1. Key performance measures relative to this action plan are that our SIP will identify Marzano instructional practices on a yearly basis as a school wide focus for implementation and/or improvement (strategy 3). Also, student growth meetings will be held each fall between school administrators and teachers and will revolve around students at risk of falling behind their peers and student sub groups that may be collectively behind the total student population, thus closing the achievement gap (strategy 4). Building administrators will be proactive in arranging time for instructional rounds to facilitate professional growth among teachers. B. Gothic Architecture And Its Impact On The Modern World Technology, culture, architecture, and all other aspects of Earth are on an ever evolving cycle, reaching closer and closer to perfection at each tick of the clock. Witnessing these developments is like candy to our eyes, as we dwell in the research and creation of new models. Imagine the base model of all development as a Romanesque style of architecture, and the more improved model as gothic. Because gothic architecture was formed over a span of 5 centuries later than that of the romans, it is an obvious factor that more profound techniques were formed and better structures were built. Today I am going to take you on a visual tour of the two most well known cathedrals in Medieval times. The first, Le Puy Cathedral, is centered on volcanic rock looking over Le Puy, France. It features an entirely Romanesque architectural design, and follows just about every common rule of roman architecture. The second cathedral you will journey through is the Exeter Cathedral, which demonstrates an entirely opposite design. The gothic architecture of this building is depicted on all sides, and can be seen on even the smallest of items within the cathedral. Both of these complex structures feature distinct designs, each with their own intended purpose. These visual walkthroughs will touch on the buildings architectural aspects and why they were selected to impress their visitors. Even if you try to pull them apart, they come together again. This is a spectacle that happens every day but we just don t really notice it. Most people don t really realize that it s happening everyday. Using fluid mechanics, we can determine why floating objects come together due to surface tension, viscosity and buoyancy (Grayson, 2014). This cheerios effect also applies to other floating objects such as paperclips. The main principles that cause objects to float together are surface tension, buoyancy and viscosity. Surface tension is caused by the presence ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When cheerios is put in milk, it creates a dent in the milks surface. Milk is attracted to the sides of the bowl; the milk forms a concave shape. The molecules being attracted to the bowl pulls the cheerios to the sides of the bowl. The surface tension under the milk is pulling the molecules down. Even if you try pulling apart the cheerios, the cheerios will stick together again. In water, an object has to be less dense than water to float. The same goes for cereal, which is less dense than milk and allows them to float. In liquids, cohesive forces are strong enough to keep molecules together but weak enough to slide past each other. Fluids with high viscosity have strong cohesive forces and fluids with low cohesive forces have weak cohesive forces. Viscosity can be calculated by its flow rate. Liquids with low viscosity have a high flow rate such as milk and water. Liquids with high viscosity have low flow rates such as honey. Specifically, it is about repairing the infrastructure of a society, including its power grids, water infrastructure, roads, bridges, sustainable structures, and anything that provides support to our thriving lifestyle. Admittedly, improving infrastructure is an important challenge that can be fixed if there are new systems put in place that allow for improvement at any time in the future. It was in this period Frederick Taylor s Scientific Management framework took precedence in organizations. Taylor introduced a systematic, strategic and scientific method to aid organizations in recovering from the effects of the war, moving towards high levels of productivity, efficacy and efficiency. Taylor s principles highlighted the need for division of responsibility, a systematic and strategic way of choosing and training employees for specific roles, breaking down jobs into smaller tasks and extending to management the responsibility of setting objectives for the organization. Following Taylor was French industrialist, Henri Fayol who contributed the administrative structure of planning, coordinating, commanding, controlling and organizing. Within this defining period of the Industrial Revolution, management theories, literature contributions, and scientific inquiry began to advance. • 34. Compare And Contrast Antigone And Othello Antigone was brave to stand up against the men in charge in her time and she died not because she necessarily had a flaw but because she never gave upon her beliefs. Othello s flaw was succumbing to jealousy which leads to his downfall. While both characters can be considered tragic hero s we can see many similarities and differences as we observe them through Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero. Aristotle breaks down tragic hero s by the hamartia, hubris, and the peripeteia. These describe the downfall of a hero, their reversal in fortune, and the disrespect for the natural order of things. After comparing Antigone and Othello through Aristotle s definition of a tragic hero, I believe that Antigone is closer to a true tragic hero than Othello. While Antigone did not have a thematic flaw like Othello did, her headstrong attitude and unwillingness to let her Uncle Creon giver her brother Polyneices an improper burial would set the chain of events leading to her downfall. The Hamartia is the tragic flaw that causes the hero s downfall, and in this sense the greater tragedy is that Antigone could not escape death because her character strongly believed the laws of the Heavens were greater than those of Creon s. No matter how she chose to argue against Creon, her end result would have been grave, they considered stoning her before locking her in a tomb and starving her. Antigone ultimately decided to take her own life rather than have her convictions broken, something we can clearly see when she boldly states If life must be a thing of fear and lying and compromise; if life cannot be free, gallant, incorruptible then, Creon, I choose death! . Othello was a beloved and respected general in the Venetian army, but through a paranoid fit of jealousy he conspires with Iago to kill his wife and her thought to be lover Cassio. While it is clear that the theme of Othello is jealousy, the green eyed monster , Othello never has solid proof of the affair. • 41. The Iphone s Success And Widespread Application Of... The iPhone s success has resulted in the widespread application of touchscreens in many devices. Touchscreens now become a fundamental tool which facilitates daily tasks, such as e mail, navigation and web browsing. Compared to traditional input devices such as keyboards and mice, touchscreens provide a more natural and direct way to interact with the digital world. However, one drawback of touch interactions in most current devices is that they are still two dimensional the interface feels like flat glass because it produces no tactile feedback, and our interaction is still highly dependent on a pattern of visual feedback. The study also found that in addition to the gains in working memory capacity, the group that meditated had increased self reported positive affect. Positive affect is how we experience feelings and emotions, in other words it is our moods. Because affect is a psycho physiological construct that involves alertness and motivational intensity, the benefits of mindful meditation on positive affect is invaluable for a soldier s effectiveness. Cognitive Flexibility Cognitive flexibility like working memory is part of the higher order cognition of executive functioning. The definition of cognitive flexibility varies slightly depending on the viewpoint, but they all address the main point of having the ability to adjust situational thinking. The ability to control thinking has significant importance because it directly affects the ability to bypass the automatic pathways of prior learning and look at things from a different perspective. Cognitive flexibility not only includes the ability to change thoughts about something, but it also allows for changing what is thought about. Essentially, it permits the redirecting of attention in response to changes in stimuli, rules or demands. Greater cognitive flexibility also increases the capability of simultaneously attending to two aspects of a situation. While investigating the benefits of mindful meditation, researchers found, Based on our own data, we may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Singer lived from 1811 until 1875 and contributed too many successful models both in business and that of design. These contributions would be seen over the next 2000 years. When Isaac Singer was growing up he was being influenced by some of the large changes going on around in the world. After Napoleon s defeat in 1814 an era of peace began. This would kick start a world of mechanization. In the time that singer s sewing machine was being designed and produced the United States other countries were at the peak of the design reform. While this was still frowned upon in the time of reform it was softened by the standardization of labour and the introduction of education and laws. Another concept that was brought up in America was Eli Whitney s model that involved the reduction of hard labour and this was demonstrated in his Machine, the Cotton Gin. This machine was used to save labours hours separating cotton, this concept of using mechanization to find ease in production was adopted into Singers sewing machine. There are people who spend their lives studying space and how it differs from Earth. With the help of experts from 15 nations, The International Space Station (ISS) has been built. The space station travels in our orbit at 17,500 miles per hour and orbits the earth every ninety minutes. The ISS gives scientists a better understanding of how life works in zero gravity. The space station was not always there. It took about thirteen years to complete, and it all started in 1984. The Between The Monster Grendel And The Old Testament Allusions to the Books Genesis and Wisdom: The interconnection between the monster Grendel and the Old Testament Beowulf displays Christian influences in the description of Grendel especially through the allusion to the Old Testament. Initially, Grendel is presented as a monster that simply kills without any justification in why he decides to act in such fashion. However, as one alludes to the Old Testament specifically to the Book Genesis and the Book Wisdom, the reasoning behind Grendel s actions become clear. Grendel s tendency to kill out purely out of rage, provides a parallel to the biblical story of Cain and Abel, which explores the preposterousness of Grendel s human aspects. This results in their fates being intertwined in the way they carry their burden of being condemned by god, reinforced in Grendel s hints of human emotion when He went away wrenched, deprived of joy, to find his place of death, mankind s foe (Beowulf 1274 75). Ultimately, the biblical story of Cain and Abel in the Book Genesis explores Grendel s character and motive though the expression of human emotion as well as the evil nature rooted in the origins of Cain s sin of fratricide. Grendel, besides the heavy influence of Cain and his sin of fratricide, is also portrayed as a representative of God s anger towards the Pagans caused by their lack of piety. Neidorf argues that Grendel s presence after the extinction of the giants caused by the flood links Cain with postdiluvian monsters, implying God s failed attempt to eliminate the evil that originated from Cain. Revised Order Of The Sacraments Of Initiation Revised Order of the Sacraments of Initiation Bishop Álvaro Corrada said, The sacraments draw humanity into the truth and love of God revealed in Christ, thereby disposing the faithful to live this love more deeply in their daily lives of Christian freedom and witness.
