Room Of One s Own By Virginia Woolf
In her essay, Room of One s Own, Virginia Woolf s thesis is centered around women writers and their
role in fiction. She examines famous women writers during that century and their struggle to succeed
as writers in a society that views women as inferior. Woolf s central idea in the beginning of the essay
is that in order for a woman to be a successful writer she must have money. Money is important
because it would grant a woman the freedom to have a room of her own where she can write without
distractions. Woolf argues that this is a key factor limiting the amount of successful women writers
during her time. Overall the biggest theme that I saw in this reading was gender inequality. Woolf
argues that besides money, a woman s gender was a determining factor in her success as a ... Show

Reading this essay I began to think about women s roles in society today and the successes of many as
well as where improvement still needs to be made. I had women in politics in mind because just like
Woolf felt as though women writers were overshadowed by men, I strongly believe that when it comes
to politics women are outnumbered greatly by men. We have had 45 Presidents and so far not one
woman has been able to hold that position. Looking back at the most recent election, many people
were positive that this would be the change and Hillary Clinton would be our first female President,
especially since she had many years of government experience and her competitor had zero political
experience. Yet, at the end of the day, an unqualified man got selected for the job over a woman with
almost 20 years of political expertise. Even money could not get Hillary the position. And contrary to
popular beliefs, I do strongly stand by my opinion that Hillary being a woman played a key role in her

The Standards Of The Standard Oil Company
In the 1870 s through the 1900 s, the Standard Oil Company (SOC) has been the largest company in
one of the most rich industries in the world. The Standard Oil Company held a monopoly over the
entire industry, which meant that their wide variety of products must have been essential to many
types of people and industries. The SOC s ability to spread awareness of their company and their
products is a main reason why they became so powerful. The Standard Oil Company would not be
nearly as successful as it was if not for its widespread consumer base, the company became one of the
largest in history. This success lead it s CEO and founder, John D. Rockefeller, to become one of the
most rich people to ever live; he also gave away an extremely large portion of his wealth and make the
world a better place. Another way that the company s massive amount of various customers allowed
them to succeed is because oil has numerous uses and their products appealed to a wide variety of
people. This fact is important because oil s many different uses made it extremely appealing and
marketable to numerous and various audiences, thus allowing the company that controlled the industry
to skyrocket and create a monopoly. A monopoly had never really been done before in history and
with the huge amount of wealth it created for certain individuals, the wealthy were able to change the
world. Oil also led the world to many technological advancements and because of the current decrease

Casual Employment in Australia
Introduction Over the past decades, casual employment in Australia has become a phenomenon of
great concern. With the soaring numbers of casual employment, the debates about the benefits and
drawbacks of causal employment have become fiercer. Casualization is a very important form of
employment in Australia, which has been protected by workplace law. The majority of casual labor
force constantly contact with their potential employers to apply job and confirm the arrangement of
working time from month to month, or even week to week. In term of wages, causal workers cannot
get paid for the annual holiday leave. However, they can receive more paid than the full time workers
for the same working hours. In this essay, how casual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course, casual employment is not the only reason for problems in the human resource market.
There is no denying that causal workers are also important components of labor force, just like
permanent employees and self employed workers. However, most of people agree that causal labor
forces are the most vulnerable group in the job market. When it comes to the influence of casual
employment on the economy and individual enterprises, there is little agreement on this issue. Many
small companies strongly support casual employees, for the payment for casual employees is far lower
than the fixed employees. Some enterprises go even further, which hire the entire workforce from the
casual employment group. Apart from the reason that casual employment can save the cost of the
companies, flexibility is also an important reason for them to select casual workers. There are also
other managers who maintain that causal employees are not a wise choice for all the companies. This
is because many causal workers are poor in skill and productivity with low commitment to the
enterprise. Casual employment may meet the short term demand for both employees and employers,
but it may lead to the constraint of dynamic productivity and innovation. This is not in accordance
with the long run interests for employers. To distinguish the benefits of employers from the benefits of
whole economy is also

Holy Cross Mountains Lab Report
Background
The Holy Cross Mountains are a Paleozoic fold belt composed of a series of map scale folds with a
variable wavelength (1 to over 8km), amplitudes (0.2 to 1km) and geometry wise the fold are open to
isoclinal (orientation of the fold axes is 95 120 degree). It s located in the contact zone between the
Paleozoic platform and the East European Craton. Lysogory and Kielce are the two regions considered
as structural facies units and also fold zones for the tectonic sub division. 1926 is the beginning of
tectonic subdivision of the Holy Cross Mountains by Jan Samsonowicz. This history is evidenced by
the sedimentary rocks representing every period from the Cambrian to Jurassic outcropped in this

Green Rivers Shale Fig 14: Holy Cross Shale and Green river shale
Holly cross 1 to 2 % expansion that tell you that nothing really came out of the rock
Green river shale expends like 50 % the reason it expends hydrocarbon has to come out from the
inside to the outside the reason is its pore permeability and porosity. Green river does that by creating
cracks inside the rock. That s what fracking is Creating breaking from the inside process f creating.
Usually big company use explosive etc.
The difference between the Holy Cross Shale and Green river Shale is Green river shale is cracking
constantly expanding when is done is ashes is all soft.
IV Conclusion
Holly Cross Shale did not expand very much which means it is hardly cracking at all. Once cut in half,
it was still black; nothing in the inside came out that is much harder much denser does have low
permeability and probably small pores.
In Holly Cross Shale there is basically nothing substantial. I don t see any realease of ions, most of the
hydrocarbons are still in the rock. The few picks are nitrogen oxygen so we can conclude that with the
Holly cross shale is whatever is on the outside because nothing from the inside came out even after
heating up to 800 °

Themes In Cry, The Beloved Country By Alan Paton
Abraham Lincoln once stated that, If you look for the bad in people and expect to find it, you surely
will. Stephen struggles with detecting the faults in other people s lives throughout the book Cry, the
Beloved Country by Alan Paton. Anticipating people to embody a bad reputation could ruin his
relationships with the people he meets. When Stephen, a father and Umfundisi looking for his family,
visits his son s girlfriend and his sister in the city of Johannesburg, the conditions they live in shock
him and he immediately judges them because he expected to discover something bad and he did.
Stephen evinces the redemption cycle through his interactions with Absalom s girlfriend and his sister
Gertrude. Stephen sinned against Absalom s girlfriend, a pregnant and soon to be widow, because he
tested her to see if she will be loyal to his son and reconciled with her by taking her into his home and
raising her as his daughter. When Stephen went to see the girl, he found out that she had three
husbands before Absalom. He asked her if she would be willing to sleep with someone else, after she
said no he asked, not even...if I desired you? (Paton 146). Immediately after Stephen said this and he
realized that he should not have asked her this question because she never had a father figure in her
life to teach her that this choice is wrong. Using the word desired shows how hard Stephen wanted to
test her. He wanted to make it hard for her to make a decision to see if she would

Recreation Supervisors
When it comes to parenting, it seems that all is lost due to the immense amount of stress created from
children. Luckily jobs are in place so to help the average citizen with their everyday child needs. Some
are big and some are small, but all are important such as the few like Family Advocates and
Recreation Supervisors. Family Advocates are one of those jobs that allow parents and children to
communicate to social services through a medium. Another job that would also be beneficial to
parents within the U.S.A. is a Recreation Supervisor which plans and makes certain that the city has
planned events and activities for the community to do and participate in. These careers can tell a lot

Recreation Supervisors make on average 40,000 (Recreation Salary) a year which is not a large sum of
money. Looking at the community impact aspect of the job, however, is a reward that in itself is
priceless. The ability to create friendships and opportunities for others to make those connections is
one of the most selfless things anyone can do. From my research, I have found that there are many
ways to choose a way to further helping others and contributing to society in a positive way. From the
ability to further in government, or the joy of making someone s day and giving them a way to forget
about the worries of life gives the meaning of what it means to give back to the community. I
personally would not choose either of these fields not out of hate, but because I don t believe that is
the road I want to take to government and I believe I can help society in a way other than just bringing

The Role Of Artillery In The Battle Of Gettysburg
The Battle of Gettysburg
Artillery has played a crucial role in many wars and battles throughout time. Specifically in the Battle
of Gettysburg, where artillery was used in all three days of battle alongside the infantry. During this
time period artillery often worked side by side with the infantry because the range of their big guns
limited them to only visible targets. Multiple types of artillery were used in this battle, the use of
artillery in the Battle of Gettysburg was what ultimately lead to a victory for the Union and a second
failed attempt to invade the North for the Confederacy.
The Battle of Gettysburg was fought between Union forces lead by Maj. Gen. George Meade (Army
of Potomac) and the Confederates lead by Gen. Robert E. Lee (Army of Northern Virginia). Not long
after Lee s victory at Chancellorsville, VA, Lee lead his army through the Shenandoah Valley towards
Gettysburg in hopes of successfully invading the North. Maj. Gen. Hooker had started to move his
troops in pursuit of Lee s army when he was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

northern cannon batteries had been destroyed. The Union opened fire as the Confederates approached,
which had devastating results for the south, half of the attackers did not return to their own lines. As
the Confederates and the Union locked in hand to hand combat, they attacked with rifles, bayonetts
and even rocks. The U.S line wavered and broke temporarily at a jog in a low stone fence called The
Angle . Reinforcements rushed in and the Confederate attack was repulsed. The south tried one last

ammo left, the last ammo having been used against charging Confederates. Between 46,000 and

America s Fiscal 2017 Budget
While oil represents about 7 percent of Louisiana s revenue, its budget structure is more complex than
other oil producing states and probably most similar to Kansas in its budget woes, according to
Leachman. Edwards s fiscal 2017 budget proposal includes dramatic cuts to virtually every part of
state government: higher education, healthcare, the attorney general s office, and youth services. Some
budget experts trace the start of Louisiana s revenue problems to the repeal of income tax increases
under what has been termed the Stelly Plan, a restructuring of state revenue that also called for
lowering the sales tax. The repeal came as Louisiana was awash in one time revenue, including federal
funding to the state to aid recovery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a group, the eight states held balances equaling 33.3 percent of general fund spending. While
Alaska pulls up the average, with balances of 122.5 percent, four additional states also hold balances
in excess of 30 percent of general fund spending (North Dakota, Texas, West Virginia, and Wyoming).
Two states Louisiana and Oklahoma hold relatively low balances, but both exceed the 5 percent
threshold.9
Louisiana lawmakers thought they were about $30 million short of closing a $940 million deficit in
the budget cycle ending June 30, especially following the Senate s approval in March of House passed
legislation to apply the state s sales and use tax to tangible personal property and other previously
exempt items such as manufacturing equipment. But updated fiscal information appeared to indicate
the state deficit to be in the range of $70 million. Edwards s veto of some $4.4 million worth of cuts
made the hole even deeper for the current fiscal year and widened it to a projected $750 million next
year.
While there can be political joy from cutting state taxes, the bulk of the House s cuts relied on
shuttering the state Department of Education for the next three months an insufficient, politically
unpopular action that forced lawmakers to vote for an estimated $300 million in tax increases just to
bridge the revenue gap from April 1 to June 30. But these increases were far short of enough
prompting Edwards to use $128

International Exports Of Industrial Goods And Technology
Introduction
Today, more than 50 economies operate ECAs to support national exports of industrial goods and
technology. A large portion of export credit transactions are related to large scale energy projects such
as power plants, hydropower dams and pipeline infrastructures, that may take several years to develop
and are often associated with countries with high political risk. ECAs provide financial supports to
national exporters in forms of export insurance, risk guarantees and direct loans so exporters can
accept deferred payments from buyers under condition of high uncertainty.
Such financing instrument has gained its strategic importance as more economies view exports as a
vital national objective and lead to increase in number of established ECAs and volumes of export
credit transactions. During the 1990s, the annual volume of export credit provided by Organisation for
Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries averaged roughly $80 100 billion per
annum (Maurer and Nakhood, 2003). Since then, volumes have grown, reaching a record of $514
billion in 2010 (Berne Union 2011). As ECAs gained presence in international financial market, its
influence beyond their impact on international trade flows were acknowledged among stakeholders.
One of notable concerns was impact on environment. Environmental groups have criticized ECAs for
being involved in controversial large scale projects that have negative impacts on environment, such
as large dams that submerge

The United Nations Security Council Essay
Since the 1970s, the People s Republic of China has acquired membership of various institutions of
international cooperation, the most noticeable ones are the United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
in 1971 and the WTO in 2001. China has been recognized as an important state actor in regards to
global governance. Nonetheless, China in many ways is different from these westerns powers,
especially the United States, who has significantly influenced and shaped global governance since the
late twenty century. The United States and its western partners prefer a strong role for liberal
democratic values in international affairs, and they spare no effort to expand the liberal democracy
related norms in the international community. On the contrary, Chinese government, as a itself non
democratic body, is apparently not a supporter of liberal democracy, neither internationally nor
domestically. its economy remains firmly controlled by the state although partly liberalized since the
Reform and Open in 1979.
II. The U.S. efforts
For more than a decade, promoting liberal democracy in China has always desirable in America s
national interests, successive U.S. presidents have declared the significance and necessity of political
liberalization and democratization in China. The policy of Constructive Engagement , proposed by
Clinton administration, called for working with Chinese government for close bilateral economic and
political cooperation, as well as U.S. advocacy for democracy,

Evaluation Of The Montford Unit Offers Services
Following this even further, the Montford unit offers services to admitted patients regardless if they
are offenders or general medical issues for individuals. The services that are provided is 550
psychiatric beds, a 48 bed general medical and surgical unit, gardens for the Lubbock food bank,
housing stables, and roads located on 120 acres of land (Hills, Siegfried, and Ickowitz, 2004, p. 86).
All of these services help offenders because everything is done in house regardless of the issue. They
have food, roof of over their head; they can provide assistance to others by helping box up food items
for the homeless or low income families. They could also do nontraditional activities such as art
therapy, music therapy, occupational therapy, and recreational therapy (Hills, Siegfried, and Ickowitz,
2004, p. 86). The activities will keep their mind active and thinking constantly. It could even lead to a
hobby that can turn into a business. The most important elements to consider for an individual with a
mental illness after being released from a mental health care facility is how they reintegrate with their
family and receive social support. For example, if the individual is going to live with their family the
best thing to do is to assess the families home and living situation, so that the environment is not
threatening to them. It will undermine the treatment process and ruin any positive outcomes the
individual has done up to this point. In order to supplement the

Which all in all provides a better atmosphere of customer service towards consumers. This convinces
consumers to prefer to shop at Costco, knowing that they will come out satisfied at the end of the day.
(USA TODAY) Another key difference between Wal Mart and Costco is the fact that Costco requires
memberships from consumers. A contract which consumers pay in order to purchase any product at
Costco. Membership prices range from $55 110 annually which in return for the discount prices is
well worth. Costco memberships also provide reward programs for the more premium package such as
3% cash back for gasoline purchases. (ann arbor) This provides an incentive for consumers to do their
bulk spending ,like groceries, at Costco; knowing that a small fraction will be returned in the short run
which eventually adds up in the long run. This not only applies for those who plan on doing their
groceries but also for heavy purchases; TVs, Mattresses, Computers..etc. However this does not
appeal the consumers who wish to buy small quantity of units like picking up a gallon of milk. To pay
$55 110 a year for a gallon of milk doesn t make sense, especially since Costco only sells packages of
two gallons. Now you would have to spend more and are responsible for not letting the milk go to

2.1.1 Definition and Criteria
Adventure tourism has grown rapidly in the recent years and has become increasingly
commercialised. It can be defined multiple ways including when a participant is involved in an
outdoor activity and confronts nature in order to experience risk (Walle, 1997), or where the principle
attraction is an outdoor activity using specialised equipment (Swarbrooke et al.)
However, not all activities that occur in an outdoor setting constitute as adventure and adventurous
behaviour does not necessarily mean visiting exciting places.
According to Maslow s hierarchy of needs (Maslow, 1954), people seek higher needs of risk only after
lower level needs have been satisfied and are no longer a source of motivation. This means that
adventurers are predicted to willingly abandon

The Importance Of Ethnic Conflict
Moreover, it is this security dilemma that suggests the need for partition according to Kaufmann, as at
a certain point of tension opposing ethnic groups have reached a point where they no longer can live
in agreement together under a common administration (Pischedda 104). Regardless of typical ethnic
conflict remedies such as power sharing, federalism, consociationalism, or state building (Tir 270).
These security dilemmas will persist as these groups will constantly be in fear of the other(s) and
attempt to protect themselves and the interests of the group (Tir 270). Therefore, as each group
continues to protect itself, it only furthers the security dilemma and proceeds to create a spiral of
suspicion and mutual anxiousness (Tir 270). Thus, if these groups cannot coexist, they must be
divided as that is the only measure to ensure the population s safety (Tir 270). This train of thought is
categorized as the last resort argument by partitionists, suggesting that partition needs to be
implemented to avoid the worst possible outcomes (O Leary 2). Additionally, there exists the
historicist argument, which states that partition is inevitable as ethnic communities once engaged in a
conflict will not be able to find a resolution (O Leary 2). History illustrates for us that societal
segregation, in employment, education and residential demographics establish the base for ethnic
conflict (O Leary 2). As well, there is the cost benefit argument, which argues that partition

The Possible Cause Of The Salem Witch Trials
The Salem Witch Trials began in Salem, Massachusetts, 1690. To this day it is not completely clear
why these trials began, but some believed that physical and/or mental illness, like hysteria, was the
cause. Others suggest that some of the local plants had been poisoned. The most reasonable cause was
that there was a pact amongst a group of girls that wanted revenge on some of the people in the town;
since they accused many and had similar accusations that could have been rehearsed. Other

Leadership And Its Impact On Leadership
Let the light within you to shine brighter than the light shining on you. Dabo Swinney
This approach to life and leadership perfectly describes what my family has instilled within me from a
young age. Leadership has intrinsic value and yet seems foreign and intangible to the masses. Noticing
this, I have decided to do all I can to recognize and implement effective leadership. In my life,
learning how to become a leader by following has bolstered my leadership potential. Executing on
leadership and committing to success in the little moments means working the hardest when no one is
watching. Reproducing leaders, not just managing followers, is a mindset that I am dedicating my life
to, so that I can leave a lasting impact, a legacy on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Learning to follow is an invaluable asset that I have utilized in my life.
When a leader is remembered by the general populace, they are often remembered for one single
moment of greatness. George Washington Carver is remembered for his invention of peanut butter, but
an appreciation of what really cultivated his leadership is often neglected. Leading is not solely about
the moments when the spotlight is shining, but more often it is about working the hardest when no one
is watching. Carver spent nearly every waking hour researching a solution to poor returns on cotton in
the south. When he found that the peanut was a valuable candidate for crop rotation, and that peanuts
could be used in hundreds of different ways, including peanut butter, he shined. This relentless
dedication made him to be a leader in his community. Rising to positions of leadership in my life has
often been a result of tireless toil. As a student athlete on the football team in high school, I would stay
for extra drills each day after everyone left. Eventually more joined. This led to my being voted
defensive captain. By the end of my senior year, the whole defensive squad often stayed late to run my
drills alongside me. If I had not chosen to push myself and work when no one was around, I would not
have developed into the player or the leader I was by the end of my senior year. Working harder than
those you lead is a valuable mindset.
Although there are many areas I need to grow in

Opponent of the Death Penalty
Gradually, states are abolishing the death penalty, as it has little to no effect on people involved in
dangerous crimes. Thirty nine states enforce the death penalty and nineteen states have abolished;
Personal involvement with the horrible crime of murder renders the academic arguments for or against
capital punishment (Polites). As many studies have shown, the death penalty also has little to no effect
on the crime rate in the country. Many questions people answer address whether they are supporters or
opponents of the death penalty and whether they believe it is effective to the US. Both these issues
have been ongoing debates for many years. Contrary to some thoughts, life imprisonment without
parole has had a bigger effect on inmates simply because they suffer from the feeling of guilt. The US
benefits because the cost of the death penalty cost three times more than the cost expense of prison.
One central thing about life imprisonment without parole is that they are in prison for the rest of their
lives. According to Citizens United for Alternatives to the Death Penalty, it said, In certain cases,
imprisonment should be for life, with no possibility of parole ever. For the rest of their lives, they have
to live within the strict and unsatisfactory boundaries of prison without the possibility of freedom in

1. Introduction
1.1 Abrasive jet machining principle:
Abrasive Jet Machining (AJM) is the removal of material from a work piece by the application of a
high speed stream of abrasive particles carried in gas medium from a nozzle. The AJM process is
different from conventional sand blasting by the way that the abrasive is much finer and the process
parameters and cutting action are both carefully regulated. The process is used chiefly to cut intricate
shapes in hard and brittle materials which are sensitive to heat and have a tendency to chip easily. The
process is also used for drilling, de burring and cleaning operations. AJM is fundamentally free from
chatter and vibration problems due to absence of physical tool. The cutting action is cool because the
carrier gas itself serves as a coolant and takes away the heat.
Abrasive jet machining also known as micro abrasive blasting, is a mechanical energy based ... Show

Chemical equilibrium is the study of change within a chemical reaction and how far it will go to reach
a dynamic equilibrium (Burdge). Dynamic equilibrium is defined as the constant movement of species
in a chemical reaction, gone to incompletion while the rates of production and consumption are equal
(Kf = Kr ) (Burdge). It differs from static equilibrium in that species are constantly being consumed
and produced, it is dynamic movement (Fox). The concentration of such species do not change, it
remains constant (Fox). The rate at which species are being

The Earthworm is a crucial component of the environment due to their interactions with soil which
then, in turn, provides benefits to other living organisms such as their burrowing behavior, which

the food matter is sent through the esophagus and into the crop, where the soil is stored until it

When Starting A Wooden Garden
From Carol s earliest memories, roses graced her grandmother s and her father s gardens. In her young
adult life, she lived in apartments, but after getting married, starting a home and family, she began to
garden. Living in a rural area with rich farm soil, her garden flourished and has expanded over the
years. I have always loved flower gardening, Carol said. I was never afraid to try growing roses; I just
never felt the desire . Being an unexpected recipient of some surplus rose bushes, initially ordered by
her sister, launched Carol on a long love affair and passion for roses.
I like the cottage garden look, where all the plants grow together, Carol explains. Cottage gardens look
kind of messy, especially when you try to photograph them. Growing a diverse mixture of annuals,
perennials, and bulbs mixed with the roses, grouped together, is beautiful; plus, plants can share the

Baking Soda Vs Double Acting Powder
Have you ever wondered why certain recipes called for baking powder and not baking soda or vice
versa? Well the reasoning behind using one over the other has to do with their chemical make up.
There are different reactions needed for different recipes. Baking soda and baking powder are both
used as leavening agents. So let s take a look at baking soda. Baking soda s chemical name is sodium
hydrogen carbonate. It also goes by Sodium bicarbonate. Baking Soda has a white, powder like
consistency. It is low on the pH scale making it a very weak base. Baking soda has many uses other
than baking. It can be used as a whitener or as a deodorizer. It can also neutralize both acids and bases

The cream of tartar is used for its acidity. There are two types of baking soda you can use: Single
acting powder and Double acting powder. Single acting powder reacts with moisture. As soon as you
add moisture to the mix that includes a single
Powell 2 acting baking powder, you must bake it right away. Double acting powder involves two
different ways of releasing gas. When mixing with a double acting powder, some of the gas is released
into the air while it is at room temperature. Most of the gas released, however, will be released in the
oven while the temperature rises. Determining which ingredient, baking powder or baking soda, to use
depends on the other ingredients within the recipe. The whole point cooking is to make food that you
thoroughly enjoy eating because of the taste. Baking soda has a bitter taste. This bitter taste can be
leveled out using the acidity of another ingredient, such as buttermilk. Baking soda is often found
when baking cookies. Baking powder is neutral. It is neutral because it contains both and acid and a
base. Since it is neutral, it can be used with other neutral tastes such as milk. You will commonly find

Societal Values In Jane Eyre
The Victorian Era in England embraced strict societal values that dictated how women should submit
to their parents when they are young, and to their husband when they are grown. While these notions
may seem unnecessarily harsh from a modern standpoint, the phenomenon of finding comfort in these
rigid standards existed during this time. For example, a woman who marries a wealthy man may be
required to give up many of her own faculties and submit to her spouse s rules, but she may be at ease
knowing that she is well taken care of in terms of basic necessities in addition to luxury items. The
idea of finding immense support in rigid notions played a central role in the identity and culture of
Victorian England. This idea permeates in the life of the protagonist of the novel Jane Eyre by
Charlotte Bronte. Having grown up in an in which neither her intellect nor her emotions were ever
acknowledged, Jane wrestles with the idea of conforming to Victorian standards for a woman, versus
finding freedom in following her own passions as a single woman. Her journey through childhood,
adolescence, and young adulthood force her to reckon with which restraints are worth enforcing and
which would prove unnecessary, even harmful, if embraced . Bronte represents Jane as a heroic
woman of her time in the way that she remains true to herself despite instances of imprisonment and
entrapment during each stage of her life. After the death of her parents, Jane is sent to live with her

INTRODUCTION
A system is created to solve problems, for example, work out someone s wages. The systems approach
can be said to be an organised way of dealing and solving the problem.
A life cycle in system analysis is a term used to describe a process for planning, creating, testing, and
deploying an information system. The systems development life cycle concept applies to a range of
hardware and software configurations, as a system can be composed of hardware only, software only,
or a combination of both.
General system development life cycles that exist include: o Waterfall stages, requirements, design,
implementation, verification, maintenance. o Agile stages, define requirements, integrate test(X3),
feedback, approved? yes=release to market, no= record incorporate changes, adjust track, next
iteration (back to beginning). o Spiral plan, test, analyses, development of testing (back to the
beginning until everything is complete and there are not problems found in testing.)

if you focus on one thing at a time, it helps you understand it better. I plan on working towards just

Although I have a hard time doing this at times, I know the importance of focusing on one thing.

  • 2. Room Of One s Own By Virginia Woolf In her essay, Room of One s Own, Virginia Woolf s thesis is centered around women writers and their role in fiction. She examines famous women writers during that century and their struggle to succeed as writers in a society that views women as inferior. Woolf s central idea in the beginning of the essay is that in order for a woman to be a successful writer she must have money. Money is important because it would grant a woman the freedom to have a room of her own where she can write without distractions. Woolf argues that this is a key factor limiting the amount of successful women writers during her time. Overall the biggest theme that I saw in this reading was gender inequality. Woolf argues that besides money, a woman s gender was a determining factor in her success as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reading this essay I began to think about women s roles in society today and the successes of many as well as where improvement still needs to be made. I had women in politics in mind because just like Woolf felt as though women writers were overshadowed by men, I strongly believe that when it comes to politics women are outnumbered greatly by men. We have had 45 Presidents and so far not one woman has been able to hold that position. Looking back at the most recent election, many people were positive that this would be the change and Hillary Clinton would be our first female President, especially since she had many years of government experience and her competitor had zero political experience. Yet, at the end of the day, an unqualified man got selected for the job over a woman with almost 20 years of political expertise. Even money could not get Hillary the position. And contrary to popular beliefs, I do strongly stand by my opinion that Hillary being a woman played a key role in her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Standards Of The Standard Oil Company In the 1870 s through the 1900 s, the Standard Oil Company (SOC) has been the largest company in one of the most rich industries in the world. The Standard Oil Company held a monopoly over the entire industry, which meant that their wide variety of products must have been essential to many types of people and industries. The SOC s ability to spread awareness of their company and their products is a main reason why they became so powerful. The Standard Oil Company would not be nearly as successful as it was if not for its widespread consumer base, the company became one of the largest in history. This success lead it s CEO and founder, John D. Rockefeller, to become one of the most rich people to ever live; he also gave away an extremely large portion of his wealth and make the world a better place. Another way that the company s massive amount of various customers allowed them to succeed is because oil has numerous uses and their products appealed to a wide variety of people. This fact is important because oil s many different uses made it extremely appealing and marketable to numerous and various audiences, thus allowing the company that controlled the industry to skyrocket and create a monopoly. A monopoly had never really been done before in history and with the huge amount of wealth it created for certain individuals, the wealthy were able to change the world. Oil also led the world to many technological advancements and because of the current decrease in the world s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Casual Employment in Australia Introduction Over the past decades, casual employment in Australia has become a phenomenon of great concern. With the soaring numbers of casual employment, the debates about the benefits and drawbacks of causal employment have become fiercer. Casualization is a very important form of employment in Australia, which has been protected by workplace law. The majority of casual labor force constantly contact with their potential employers to apply job and confirm the arrangement of working time from month to month, or even week to week. In term of wages, causal workers cannot get paid for the annual holiday leave. However, they can receive more paid than the full time workers for the same working hours. In this essay, how casual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course, casual employment is not the only reason for problems in the human resource market. There is no denying that causal workers are also important components of labor force, just like permanent employees and self employed workers. However, most of people agree that causal labor forces are the most vulnerable group in the job market. When it comes to the influence of casual employment on the economy and individual enterprises, there is little agreement on this issue. Many small companies strongly support casual employees, for the payment for casual employees is far lower than the fixed employees. Some enterprises go even further, which hire the entire workforce from the casual employment group. Apart from the reason that casual employment can save the cost of the companies, flexibility is also an important reason for them to select casual workers. There are also other managers who maintain that causal employees are not a wise choice for all the companies. This is because many causal workers are poor in skill and productivity with low commitment to the enterprise. Casual employment may meet the short term demand for both employees and employers, but it may lead to the constraint of dynamic productivity and innovation. This is not in accordance with the long run interests for employers. To distinguish the benefits of employers from the benefits of whole economy is also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Green Rivers Shale Fig 14: Holy Cross Shale and Green river shale Holly cross 1 to 2 % expansion that tell you that nothing really came out of the rock Green river shale expends like 50 % the reason it expends hydrocarbon has to come out from the inside to the outside the reason is its pore permeability and porosity. Green river does that by creating cracks inside the rock. That s what fracking is Creating breaking from the inside process f creating. Usually big company use explosive etc. The difference between the Holy Cross Shale and Green river Shale is Green river shale is cracking constantly expanding when is done is ashes is all soft. IV Conclusion Holly Cross Shale did not expand very much which means it is hardly cracking at all. Once cut in half, it was still black; nothing in the inside came out that is much harder much denser does have low permeability and probably small pores. In Holly Cross Shale there is basically nothing substantial. I don t see any realease of ions, most of the hydrocarbons are still in the rock. The few picks are nitrogen oxygen so we can conclude that with the Holly cross shale is whatever is on the outside because nothing from the inside came out even after heating up to 800 ° ... Stephen struggles with detecting the faults in other people s lives throughout the book Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton. Anticipating people to embody a bad reputation could ruin his relationships with the people he meets. When Stephen, a father and Umfundisi looking for his family, visits his son s girlfriend and his sister in the city of Johannesburg, the conditions they live in shock him and he immediately judges them because he expected to discover something bad and he did. Stephen evinces the redemption cycle through his interactions with Absalom s girlfriend and his sister Gertrude. Stephen sinned against Absalom s girlfriend, a pregnant and soon to be widow, because he tested her to see if she will be loyal to his son and reconciled with her by taking her into his home and raising her as his daughter. When Stephen went to see the girl, he found out that she had three husbands before Absalom. He asked her if she would be willing to sleep with someone else, after she said no he asked, not even...if I desired you? (Paton 146). Immediately after Stephen said this and he realized that he should not have asked her this question because she never had a father figure in her life to teach her that this choice is wrong. Using the word desired shows how hard Stephen wanted to test her. He wanted to make it hard for her to make a decision to see if she would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Specifically in the Battle of Gettysburg, where artillery was used in all three days of battle alongside the infantry. During this time period artillery often worked side by side with the infantry because the range of their big guns limited them to only visible targets. Multiple types of artillery were used in this battle, the use of artillery in the Battle of Gettysburg was what ultimately lead to a victory for the Union and a second failed attempt to invade the North for the Confederacy. The Battle of Gettysburg was fought between Union forces lead by Maj. Gen. George Meade (Army of Potomac) and the Confederates lead by Gen. Robert E. Lee (Army of Northern Virginia). America s Fiscal 2017 Budget While oil represents about 7 percent of Louisiana s revenue, its budget structure is more complex than other oil producing states and probably most similar to Kansas in its budget woes, according to Leachman. Edwards s fiscal 2017 budget proposal includes dramatic cuts to virtually every part of state government: higher education, healthcare, the attorney general s office, and youth services. Some budget experts trace the start of Louisiana s revenue problems to the repeal of income tax increases under what has been termed the Stelly Plan, a restructuring of state revenue that also called for lowering the sales tax. While Alaska pulls up the average, with balances of 122.5 percent, four additional states also hold balances in excess of 30 percent of general fund spending (North Dakota, Texas, West Virginia, and Wyoming). Two states Louisiana and Oklahoma hold relatively low balances, but both exceed the 5 percent threshold.9 Louisiana lawmakers thought they were about $30 million short of closing a $940 million deficit in the budget cycle ending June 30, especially following the Senate s approval in March of House passed legislation to apply the state s sales and use tax to tangible personal property and other previously exempt items such as manufacturing equipment. But updated fiscal information appeared to indicate the state deficit to be in the range of $70 million. Edwards s veto of some $4.4 million worth of cuts made the hole even deeper for the current fiscal year and widened it to a projected $750 million next year. While there can be political joy from cutting state taxes, the bulk of the House s cuts relied on shuttering the state Department of Education for the next three months an insufficient, politically unpopular action that forced lawmakers to vote for an estimated $300 million in tax increases just to bridge the revenue gap from April 1 to June 30. • 11. International Exports Of Industrial Goods And Technology Introduction Today, more than 50 economies operate ECAs to support national exports of industrial goods and technology. A large portion of export credit transactions are related to large scale energy projects such as power plants, hydropower dams and pipeline infrastructures, that may take several years to develop and are often associated with countries with high political risk. ECAs provide financial supports to national exporters in forms of export insurance, risk guarantees and direct loans so exporters can accept deferred payments from buyers under condition of high uncertainty. Such financing instrument has gained its strategic importance as more economies view exports as a vital national objective and lead to increase in number of established ECAs and volumes of export credit transactions. During the 1990s, the annual volume of export credit provided by Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries averaged roughly $80 100 billion per annum (Maurer and Nakhood, 2003). Since then, volumes have grown, reaching a record of $514 billion in 2010 (Berne Union 2011). As ECAs gained presence in international financial market, its influence beyond their impact on international trade flows were acknowledged among stakeholders. One of notable concerns was impact on environment. Membership prices range from $55 110 annually which in return for the discount prices is well worth. • 22. The Importance Of Ethnic Conflict Moreover, it is this security dilemma that suggests the need for partition according to Kaufmann, as at a certain point of tension opposing ethnic groups have reached a point where they no longer can live in agreement together under a common administration (Pischedda 104). Regardless of typical ethnic conflict remedies such as power sharing, federalism, consociationalism, or state building (Tir 270). These security dilemmas will persist as these groups will constantly be in fear of the other(s) and attempt to protect themselves and the interests of the group (Tir 270). Therefore, as each group continues to protect itself, it only furthers the security dilemma and proceeds to create a spiral of suspicion and mutual anxiousness (Tir 270). Thus, if these groups cannot coexist, they must be divided as that is the only measure to ensure the population s safety (Tir 270). This train of thought is categorized as the last resort argument by partitionists, suggesting that partition needs to be implemented to avoid the worst possible outcomes (O Leary 2). Additionally, there exists the historicist argument, which states that partition is inevitable as ethnic communities once engaged in a conflict will not be able to find a resolution (O Leary 2). History illustrates for us that societal segregation, in employment, education and residential demographics establish the base for ethnic conflict (O Leary 2). Introduction 1.1 Abrasive jet machining principle: Abrasive Jet Machining (AJM) is the removal of material from a work piece by the application of a high speed stream of abrasive particles carried in gas medium from a nozzle. The AJM process is different from conventional sand blasting by the way that the abrasive is much finer and the process parameters and cutting action are both carefully regulated. The process is used chiefly to cut intricate shapes in hard and brittle materials which are sensitive to heat and have a tendency to chip easily. The process is also used for drilling, de burring and cleaning operations. AJM is fundamentally free from chatter and vibration problems due to absence of physical tool. The cutting action is cool because the carrier gas itself serves as a coolant and takes away the heat. Abrasive jet machining also known as micro abrasive blasting, is a mechanical energy based ... Dynamic equilibrium is defined as the constant movement of species in a chemical reaction, gone to incompletion while the rates of production and consumption are equal (Kf = Kr ) (Burdge). It differs from static equilibrium in that species are constantly being consumed and produced, it is dynamic movement (Fox). The concentration of such species do not change, it remains constant (Fox). The rate at which species are being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Societal Values In Jane Eyre The Victorian Era in England embraced strict societal values that dictated how women should submit to their parents when they are young, and to their husband when they are grown. While these notions may seem unnecessarily harsh from a modern standpoint, the phenomenon of finding comfort in these rigid standards existed during this time. For example, a woman who marries a wealthy man may be required to give up many of her own faculties and submit to her spouse s rules, but she may be at ease knowing that she is well taken care of in terms of basic necessities in addition to luxury items. The idea of finding immense support in rigid notions played a central role in the identity and culture of Victorian England. This idea permeates in the life of the protagonist of the novel Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Having grown up in an in which neither her intellect nor her emotions were ever acknowledged, Jane wrestles with the idea of conforming to Victorian standards for a woman, versus finding freedom in following her own passions as a single woman. Her journey through childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood force her to reckon with which restraints are worth enforcing and which would prove unnecessary, even harmful, if embraced .
