2. Materials used were normally stone and
wood

3. Reliefs were sculpted on the façades of
temples

4. Especially on columns, typanum and
archivolts

5. They also made free-standing sculptures

6. Like Romanesque, Gothic sculpture had a
didactic purpose, but Gothic figures were
more expresive than Romanesque ones.

pantocrator

10. Paintings were mainly done on Wood or
canvas

11. At the beginning figures were very
stylised

12. but Little by Little they became more
realistic

13. Religious themes predominated but in the
final phases artists began to paint scenes of
the daily life and portraits
