11. Pressure of vaults was counteracted by flying-buttresses
and buttresses crowned with pinnacles

12. Cathedrals had Latin cross plans, with a
nave, several aisles and two transepts.

13. The chancel was bigger and had an
ambulatory which sometimes was double

14. There were several apses, generally in the
shape of a pentagon

15. In the interior there were three floors

16. Doorways consisted of doors under pointed
arches.On the west façade there were usually
two towers
