paper, I will propose that it is better to look at whether a law is legally valid or not through the
perspective of natural law theory as opposed to positivist theory. My argument consists mostly
of the language of improvement which can only exist based on the theory of natural law which
states that law is something which has an objective truth behind it. Only when there is an
objective mark to hit can there be hits and misses and I believe that positivism disregards the
possibility of hits and misses entirely. So, my argument is that it makes more sense to consider
legal validity of a law from the perspective of natural law rather than positive law because it
includes not only the previously set up legal system when considering validity, but it also
considers the general idea of some kind of morality as well. A sub argument is that the starting
legal system must have had some basis by which to have been created and accepted which must

Lionfish come with red, maroon or brown stripes and specks on their body and flashy fins. Their
beautiful long fins flowing gracefully in the water and dramatic colors are fascinating and
inspiring. No doubt lionfish are one of popular aquarium fishes as well as painting subjects. As my
final project, I want to create a captivating image, while enjoying exploration of the beauty and
details of lionfish. For the underwater backdrop, I want to suggest a coral reef environment. A
solid or simple blueunderwater backdrop would be sufficient to show the beauty of lionfish, but it
is too plain for my taste. I decide to paint underwater ripples along with a brain coral. The

But considering that Suetonius is a Roman historian, I believe that is safe to assume that it cannot
be trusted. The Greeks and Romans at the time had tension from past wars and disagreements. In
Rome, Greek wasn t a first language, if it had been Augustus would ve known it. For if he had
occasion to use the language, he wrote what he had to say in Latin and gave it to someone else to
translate (Suetonius 89). This seems to prove that the first language learned by the Romans was
Latin not Greek, meaning that Greek culture came second to Roman culture. Greek culture wasn t a
priority. So when considering whether these accounts are real, it s debatable for two reasons. One,
the accounts may be real in the sense that Suetonius is depicting through his own narrative how
Romans view anyone who is interested in Greek culture. They might seem simple minded and
fickle, the way that he seems to describe Augustus. The second reason being that these events could
be untrue; Augustus could have had a few small superstitions that Suetonius merely exaggerated
because of his potential disapproval of his interest in Greek culture. This would mean that August

had just stopped breathing all at once. Ross Barnett had been weak months before his death his
son had told news reporters. He died at five thirty (5:30) pm in Jackson, Mississippi. Barnett was

Amistad Trial
In the 17th century, the demand for slaves was higher than it ever was at any time in history.
Africans were kidnapped from their homes and villages to be sold to whites so that they could be
sold and put to work with no income. This was the exact plan that was in store for 43 mendi
africans taken on the slave ship, The Amistad. While being transporting, the Mendi Africans took a
stand and revolted against the crew and took over the ship with a will to become free and that is
when their path to freedom began. The trial in the US and the Mendi slaves time in Connecticut

First they needed a place to stay. They ended up in Farmington, who welcomed them with
opened arms. The kids were split up with local families while the rest of the men stayed in a big
room in one of Farmington residents, Samuel Demings stores. They were provided with simple
food from the local families. Second, they had to make money in order to fund the trip.
Farmington generously gave them 15 acres of land to farm. The Farmington families and Mendi
Africans also traveled all over connecticut for fundraising. The preparations weren t going to be
instant, but they were going to take some time to complete. With all the free time, they needed
something to do. For months they studied with teachers in Farmington, hoping that they could
one day teach their villages to be literate. They were also taught in religion. The first church of
christ, located in Farmington, had a vision that the Africans could become missionaries in their
villages and communities. They went to church every sunday and were taught daily. They also
had to have some fun. They liked to do activities with each other, particularly gymnastics and
swimming in the river. But it wasn t all positive in Farmington though. One day the teacher
made careless remarks that the Africans would probably never go home. This depressed all the
Africans, particularly one named For One. On a saturday shortly after the remarks, he said that
he was going to swim, and there he drowned himself. Shocked by what happened, Farmington
and the Africans sped up the final preparations before they left. Nearly a month after the suicide,
a group of young whites physically attacked a couple of the africans when they came out of a
store. Lucky for the africans, cinque came to the rescue and fought them off. Now they were
really rushed to leave farmington. Days before they left, four churches in the area came together
for a farewell service where Cinque spoke and 1130 dollars was
