Concerns about Health in the United Kingdom have Increased...
The worries of health and environmental issues in the United Kingdom have increased the demand of
organic food mainly to reduce off farm inputs and to increase health nutrients in our daily intake . The
UK is a MEDC, because it is considered as a rich country, and due to the UK receiving raw resources
from LEDC. The UK uses these raw materials for the outcome of any industry. One of UK s biggest
industries is the food industry, because everyone needs food and nutrients in their body, to be able to
stay alive. The food industry is a primary industry and a secondary industry because the food industry
consist of growing raw crops, making it a primary industry, and the food industry also uses these raw
crops to make other food/products. The reasons why health and environmental concerns in the United
Kingdom has increased the demand of organic food is that there are physical damage and effects on
the environment , the society is motivated to be healthier , and lastly it s worth the price .
The environment is getting worse due to many reasons, one of being off farm input , which is effecting
and damaging the environment. Off farm input consists of fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides and
pesticides, which is used on agriculture to grow faster and larger. These off farm input is effecting and
damaging the environment, through the chemicals in the pesticides and fertilizers, creating
groundwater contamination. The Environmental Protection Agency has stated that herbicides

The Butterfly Circus And The Butterfly Circus
This essay is about what human dignity and how it relates to the butterfly circus. When it comes to
people and human dignity some people do not realise what it is. The butterfly circus is a circus where
human dignity what the circus is based on. People do what they want to they find the right place to do
it, and they do it at the butterfly circus where anyone can be anything, and they can be themselves
(who they truly are). In the butterfly circus, Mr Mendez says that the butterfly circus is made up of
people who haven t had much dignity in their lives (e.g. they get rejected from their previous work
(e.g. Circus) and they were left with nothing. Imagine if this happened to you.

Would you make other people have their dignity restored? Do you have dignity in you?
Lies are one of the major things in which affects this world of wonders, the young and old do it even
you do it yourself. Everyone tells lies every now and then, but if people believe in every lie that is said
to them then they would forward those lies onto other people. When Mr Mendez sees the (freak) side
show and once he arrives at Will s section (which has curtains covering him); the things that the
showman said about Will is horrifying and is a lie. Will believed everything that the showman said;
the showman said God himself has turned his back on him and this next thing has been cursed since
birth . No one should be expressed like that. When someone is expressed like that it affects the victim
and the victor; they both get a bad influence on each other. How often do you tell lies? How often do
you tell the truth?
When you think that human dignity is already in this world but when you think about all of the bad
things which are happening you realise that people aren t being treated the way that they should be;
people lie (about how their thinking), they think that everything is impossible because of the lies, and
the people who are treated the way they should are hoping to make others happier and a difference to
this world. If people get treated equally then bad

Green Forest Is Easy On The Eye
Green forest is easy on the eye, it breaks the harshness of roads and buildings and adds interest to
farmland and mountain slopes. In its sanctuary birdsong and air currents play with your auditory
senses and aroma s of nectar, decayed logs and leaves fill the air.
After a long absence from New Zealand, I decided to reacquaint myself with the types of forests found
in the Land of the Long White cloud. In this article, I have based the forest communities on the
categories from The New Zealand Plant Conservation Network: Beech Forest, Podocarp/broadleaf and
Kauri Podocarp/broadleaf.
An introduction
New Zealand is in a temperate zone, located between the Antarctic Circle and the Tropic of Capricorn.
It is also in the path of the roaring forties, a strong westerly wind circling the globe, between the
latitudes of forty and fifty degrees. Etched by fiords, mountain ranges, volcanoes, plains, plateaus and
just over 15,000 kilometres of coastline, it shapes a diverse landscape.
Over time, plants have evolved and adapted to this landscape and climate. Today there are 2,418
native species of forest plants, which includes ferns and grasses. Native mosses, liverworts, hornworts
and lichens make up approximately another 3,480 plants. Most plants are evergreen with about (still
counting) 28 deciduous species.
Beech Forest
I like how a montane beech forest defines a distinct line across mountain slopes and the excitement
you feel when you emerge into the alpine zone .

The First Source By Qui Jin
Both primary sources being compared come from Chapter 18 in Worlds Together, Worlds apart. The
first source was written by Qui Jin, an early twentieth century Chinese feminist. In her essay titled An
Address to Two Hundred Million Fellow Country Women, she details the injustices to Chinese women
in this period. Jin also connects the fate of the Country to chinese women s futures. By doing so she
puts a nationalist view into her essay. The other source is another feminist piece; this time coming
from Bahithat al Badiya, where she criticizes Egypt s religious traditions in effect to women s
freedom. Both women show some of the feminist ideas that were circling society at the beginning of
the twentieth century. Throughout the turn of the century worldwide insecurities were rampant.
Although modernism was Another insecurity would be the changing of roles for women in a society
that was already losing many social constructs due to the rising popularity of modernist views.
However, with decreasing economies and job loss, people start turning on their governments, and
trying to revert to older more traditional ways. Modern views were starting to be rejected by many,
and the growing anxieties of modern women fed to the views that change is for the worst. Both these
women s radical views represented the desire for new identities. A common desire for the time, as
people grew dissatisfied with their governments and wanted reform. Although a small group, Chinese

Comparing Democracy In Norway And The United States
Of that less than 5% remaining full democracies, Norway has been ranked the best democracy in the
world. On the other hand, the relegation of the United States from a full democracy to a flawed
democracy can be traced back to American voters losing trust in political institutions and the
increasing role of lobbying. With their automatic voter registration, collaborating political parties, and
healthy relationship between lawmakers and citizens, Norway s democratic success is no surprise in
comparison to the United States of America.
The political structure of both nations also contributes to their major differences. Norway is a
constitutional monarchy with the king as the head of state and a parliamentary democracy system
composed of three branches: the executive, legislative, and judicial. The constitution grants executive
powers to the king, but the cabinet, appointed by the prime minister, exercises these rights. The
monarch appoints a prime minister to acts as the political leader and head of government. The prime
minister is given limited legislative powers but controls the party of parliament as well as the
legislative and executive branch. The judicial branch, the highest court in Norway, is led by judges
appointed by the monarch. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The president is the head of the federal government as well as the executive branch. The legislative
branch is composed of the two parliamentary houses: The Senate and House of Representatives. The
judicial branch is made up of the Supreme Court, federal courts, and minority courts. In regard to
separation of power, both nations follow Montesquieu s idea within the executive, legislative, and
judicial branches; however, Economist Intelligence Unit says [Norway] has better checks and balances

Theory Of Purchasing Power Parity
Literature Review
Theory Development
Dating back to the XVI century, the theory of purchasing power parity are developed and studied since
then in Spain. However, this theory of PPP attracts the scholars till the XX century due to the
contribution of a Swedish scholar Gustav Cassel in 1910s (Taylor, 2006). Cassel presented PPP theory
using an equivalent term theoretical rate of exchange three years ago before he first defined the term
PPP and place it into a systematic framework. Additionally, Cassel is also the first person who tested
PPP empirically. The cumulative CPI inflation rates of different countries are suggested to be
calculated and used to obtain the most effective exchange rate by Cassel to maintain the parity of
purchasing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It should be noticed that LOP holds only when transaction costs are ignored and the trading goods are
identical. However, LOP does not always hold in practice, according to Taylor and Taylor (2004),
factors like tariffs, transportation costs, non tariffs barriers and transaction costs violate the LOP.
Engel and Rogers found that there is a positive relationship between the price differentials and the
distance between cities in their study of comparable goods price differentials in US and Canada, it is
obvious that transportation costs is the main factor that cause this price differential.
As for Absolute Purchasing Power Parity, it is a more comprehensive way to measure PPP and its
equation is as follows:
∑▒P_i =E∑▒P_i^*
In which the sums are consumer price index instead of the good price. CPI represents the fluctuation
of goods prices in a period and it contains a basket of different goods so can bring PPP to a more
general situation. However, there are some problems associated with the absolute version of PPP. It
needs to be considered that which CPI should be taken into account and how to deal with the
fluctuation of CPI over time.
In order to overcome the problems associated with the absolute version of PPP, the relative PPP is
introduced. It is similar to

Student Misconduct
Why is it necessary for a university to establish a code of conduct? The University of Florida s answer
is in the following quote, The University of Florida is an institution which encourages the intellectual
and personal growth of its students as scholars and citizens. As an educational institution, the
University recognizes that the transmission of knowledge, the pursuit of truth, and the development of
individuals require the free exchange of ideas, self expression, and the challenging of beliefs and
customs. In order to maintain an environment where these goals can be achieved safely and equitably,
the University promotes civility, respect, and integrity among all members of the community. As
stated in the Standard of Ethical Conduct, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That also means it has become even easier to discover when others are using someone else s work in
their documents and to verify whether they are properly citing where the source material came from. It
is a far less risky option to make the extra effort of giving credit where it is due. This activity is a
direct violation of the University Of Phoenix Code Of Conduct/Code of Academic Integrity. B. Martin
sums it up nicely in the Journal of Information Ethics: plagiarism is much more common among both
students and scholars than usually recognized and it is a serious offense against scholarships and
should be condemned and penalized.
How do you catch a cheating student participating in an online environment? As defined in the
University of Phoenix 2007 2008 Online Master Catalog, cheating is using or attempting to use
unauthorized materials, information, or study aids in any academic exercise (University). However,
without physically interfacing with the student, how does a teacher ensure a student is turning in
assignments that are homegrown within the mind of the writer? With the advent of the internet,
information is rampant and often unchecked for credibility. In the same instance, it is a Mecca of
information potentially influencing the personal education of billions. Coupling the internet with an
online academic environment, there is a potential for cheating. Students are less likely to cheat if they

A Brief Look Into The Evolution Of The From Atomic Theory
A Brief Look into the Evolution of DFT from Atomic Theory
Quantum Theory
The idea of atom existed as early as the Greek and Indian civilizations but more as a philosophical
thought rather than a well defined theory based on empirical evidence. Atom was assumed as
something that is indestructible and the smallest component that makes up matter. It took almost 2000
years for the development of modern day atomic theory with proof for the existence of atoms and
further subatomic particles. The archaeological classification of human history as stone age, bronze
age and iron age better depicts the evolution of macroscopic chemistry first. Much later through the
fundamental studies in electromagnetism and blackbody radiation, the discovery and ... Show more

In 1923 De Broglie described the movement of electrons as a wave with an associated wavelength (λ)
related as λ = h/p, where p is the momentum and h is Planck s constant. This hypothesis was
confirmed in experiments and Stern later generalized this behavior to all microscopic particles.
The contradictory nature of wave particle duality, the concept of a non localized wave versus a
localized particle, posed a problem in simultaneous description of position and momentum which was
theorized by Heisenberg in his uncertainty principle. This necessitated a new theory to describe the
non deterministic nature of atomic particles. Erwin Schrodinger in 1926 postulated the concept of a
wave function Ψ(x, t), the state of a system which is a function of particle coordinates, and its change
with time. Max Born dissected wave function and presented |Ψ(x, t)2|dx as the probability of finding a
particle at time t in the region between x and x+dx. Born along with Oppenheimer later proposed a
modification to the wave function separating the nuclear motion from electron motion due to the large
difference in masses. Time independent, non relativistic Schrodinger equation is an eigen value
problem and the solution to the Schrodinger s Equation gives us the wave function. For atoms of
higher atomic number, it becomes cumbersome to solve this equation, how it is handled we will
discuss shortly. Paul Dirac and Linus Pauling contributed more to the development of fundamental

Benefits Of Companion Animals
Anatole France once said, Until one has loved an animal, a part of one s soul remains unawakened.
Everyone who has ever become fond of an animal knows how much one small aspect of your life can
impact so many things. I have a cat and I can honestly say I would not be the person I am today
without her. Unlike human connections, communication is more difficult due to the fact that animals
don t speak English; A simple glare or rub from an animal means a million times more to most than a
well constructed conversation between peers. Bonding with companion animals will benefit your
overall wellness. According to ASPCA, a companion animal is a domestic animal that can safely
interact with humans physically and emotionally (Definition of Companion). This means they have
been known to work with humans without being a threat. Wild animals and hybrid mixes are not
considered companion animals due to the fact that they could be dangerous (Species Specific).
Common household pets like guinea pigs, fish, some reptiles, cats, dogs, and other mammals of a
smaller size are examples of valid companion animals; Horses and other farm animals bred
specifically to be a companion animal are also valid (Species Specific). Loneliness is an aspect of life
everyone dreads feeling but cannot suppress. Lacking love or even just a friend can cause
unimaginable ache and heaviness. Humans are social creatures so when they do not get the necessary
interactions they feel empty in a sense. Companion

Psychological study of music is based on this reason. Studies have found that music can reduce stress,
aid relaxation, alleviate depression, and help store and recall information among other functions.
William Congreve once stated that music has the charms to soothe the savage beast . Stress is reduced
through music by decreasing the amount of the hormone cortisone released in the body. This can be
applied to everyday life for stress relief (Music and Stress, 1998).
Music therapy is a new intervention that uses music and musical activities for the purposes of altering
behavior and enhancing the everyday existence of people with various types of emotional disturbance
. People have been using forms of music therapy since the earliest recorded history. Egyptian priests
spoke incantations that supposedly influenced women`s fertility. Hebrews and Greeks treated physical
and mental illness with the playing of music. Zenocrates, Sarpander, and Arien, all of whom were
Greeks, were the first to use music therapy as a regular practice. They employed harp music to ease
the outbursts of people with mental illnesses (Shapiro, 1969).
Nursing homes often hire music therapists. People are likely to feel depressed and grief stricken when
moved away from their homes and families into a facility for strangers to take care of them. Music
therapy helps to relieve grief and improve emotional tones and feelings (Shapiro, 1969). Therapists

The Bus A Modern Panacea Summary
Transportation is an everyday occurrence in today s society; it takes you where you need to in a timely
manner. In the article The Bus, a Modern Panacea by Lester Detroit, he explains that taking the VTA is
a cure all solution. Detroit notes that the VTA is convenient because students do not have to drive
around to find parking space. He revels that students can save money with the free Echo Pass that is
provided with registered SJSU students. He also notes that taking the VTA helps with the
environmental problems because it solves traffic congestion, rising oil consumption, and carbon
pollution. With Detroit s statement, I agree with him that the VTA is a cure all solution because it
saves money, has health benefits, and is environmentally friendly. Taking the VTA can save thousands
of dollars annually. When people pay for gas it usually costs around three dollars per gallon depending

Twin Rocks Friends Camp
On a chilly, windy morning on the Oregon Coast, I wake up at six to attend the daily camp counselor

What Is The Similarities Between The Lhamo Theatre And The...
Lhamo, claimed by many to be the oldest living theatre in the world, for its origin dates back to at
least the 8th century AD; it is also one of the least extensively studied forms of theatre. Often a
similarity is made between the Athenian theatre festivals and the Tibetan theatre. The analogy between
the two is noticeable in the focus being on the poetic and sung parts, the chorus and the structure and
the use of space. There are no proven real historical links but the overwhelming resemblance must be
acknowledged which is reflected in the relationship between the theatrical event and the spirit of the
community. The entire community comes together ( with no distinction made in class and creed) and

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Essay
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation also known as CPR is an important part of helping someone survive
during an emergency. Learning CPR can cause many positive outcomes for a victim in a critical
moment. This paper will discuss not only those effects but also the basics of CPR, different types and
process that is thought to save a person s life.
CPR is used in an emergency where the heart has stopped working properly. It can be due to blocked
blood passageways, heart attack, or cardiac arrest. Once an emergency begins everyone in the
immediate area is considered a bystander. As a bystander, rapid response is needed to save a life. It is
normal for people to hesitate or doubt they can help but even the smallest thing can make a big
difference. If nothing else a bystander can call for help. This may not seem like a big help, but the 911

people may doubt they will be in an emergency where the need to know CPR but studies show that is

with only 32% of bystanders during emergency s being CPR trained. (Cline) Within 4 to 6 minutes of
cardiac arrest the victim will die without help. (AmericanCPR) If more people were trained the

practitioners also need to build a rapport and develop a relationship with children young people and

Cause and Effects of Teen Drug Abuse
Teen Drug Abuse in America In today s society drugs are taking away our children s lives and it is
making headlines every day. In Vancouver, Washington, a 13 year old boy was found dead after
allegedly swallowing twenty four cold medicine pills to get high (Taylor 45). Nine Florida middle
school students were taken to the hospital after their strange behavior and illness at school led school
officials to discover that they had overdosed on an over the counter cold medication (Taylor 45). A
children s hospital in Wisconsin treated two teenage girls for liver failure after they consumed close to
20 tablets containing a common cold remedy. (Taylor 45). There are many more cases like this
happening every day. Why is drug abuse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
06) Teens basically see or hear the medicine on TV or radio, and thinks it is okay to use it. We ve
become a society that basically says, If things aren t perfect in your life, take a pill, Fay says. This
causes our young people to see drugs as an answer (USA TODAY Section: Life, Pg. 06). But, if there
no conflict with them, they will use drugs to help them relax and have more fun. But teens drink and
smoke for other reasons as well. In the survey, 41% of boys responded that parties are more fun with
drugs an increase from 34% in 2008. More than half reported that drugs help teens relax in social
settings (USA TODAY Section: Life, Pg. 06). Lastly, the best way to win the battle of Teen Drug
Alcohol Abuse is to stop and prevent it even from happening. Whether the drug in question is alcohol,
Ecstasy, or cough syrup, drug abuse continues to be a serious among adolescents. As with any other
problem in the school, education, awareness, and balance are the keys to prevention and to the
development of potential solutions (Teen Abuse of LEGAL Drugs is Serious Medicine 48). And

Life Events In Oedipus The King
Life is full of ups and downs, some of which are bigger than others. Besides natural factors
influencing life events, the actions of the people surrounding us make our experiences different. This
was seen in the Socrates Oedipus the King which is about a man, Oedipus, and his journey of realizing
his true self. After King Laius of Thebes was murdered, a curse was placed on Thebes. Creon is sent to
seek the advice of Apollo, who then states that the only way for the curse to be removed is if the killer
of Laius is executed. Tiresias, a blind prophet, tells Oedipus that he is guilty for the murder of Laius.
Jocasta tells Oedipus not to believe in the word of the prophets, as they have been wrong before,
giving the prophecy of her son stating that he would sleep with her, and murder her husband. Jocasta
believed that her son was killed, but she recalls that Oedipus is her son after he states the same
prophecy. After she remembers this, she kills herself and Oedipus gouges out his eyes. Oedipus
experiences an extreme downfall during his time due to his lack of self knowledge. Queen Jocasta and
King Laius are guilty for the degeneration of Oedipus as they each did not successfully terminate the
prophecy, causing Oedipus to experience things he shouldn t have.
To begin, Queen Jocasta did not end the prophecy in a safe and secure manner. According to several
characters in the play, the prophecy stated that King Laius would be killed by his son, and that Queen
Jocasta would

Women s Role in Society in Pride and Prejudice, by Jane...
Over the centuries, women s duties or roles in the home and in the work force have arguably changed
for the better. In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen teaches the reader about reputation and loves in the
nineteenth and twenty first centuries by showing how Elizabeth shows up in a muddy dress, declines a
marriage proposal and how women have changed over time. Anything a woman does is reflected on
her future and how other people look at her. When Elizabeth shows up to the Bingley s in a muddy
dress they categorize her as being low class and unfashionable. Charles Bingley, a rich attractive man,
and his sister had a reputation to protect by not letting their brother marry a low class girl . Reputation

The richest, best looking men were usually married off first that is why when Mr. Bingley came to
town everybody introduced their daughters to him and his family. Mrs. Bennet say to her husband Mr.
Bennet, who usually ignored her, It is truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession
of a good fortune must be want for a wife (Austen 1 2) A rich man did not need a wife as much as a
woman needed a man. A rich single good looking man, like most of the bachelors in the novel, was
every girls dream; a girl s father could only introduce his daughter to a man. In the novel Mrs. Bennet
begs her husband to introduce their girls to Charles Bingley, even though Mr. Bennet already met up
with Mr. Bingley and already had plans for him to meet his daughters. A girl or mother were not
allowed to introduce themselves to a man, when Mrs. Bennet says to her husband It will be no use to
us, if twenty such come, since you will not visit them (Austen 32) Only being able to meet someone
through a father s approval and introducing of his daughters shows how powerless women were in the
fact they could not make their own decisions. At the town ball the Bingley s and Mr. Darcy arrive late
but almost instantly noticed by every family, with a daughter, in the room. Mr. Bennet took this
opportunity to introduce all his daughters in front of his wife. After Mr. Darcy,

Transport By Bicycle May Seem To Be A Thing Of The Past
Transport by bicycle may seem to be a thing of the past but benefits associated with the trend continue
to give hope to those who see it as a means of daily transport. In the United states, majority of the
population consider cycling as a means of recreation and for leisure; and so most people don t
consider bicycles as a mode of transportation. Cycling is for everyone of all shapes, sizes, and age.
Over the years, America has learned to depend solely on cars and trucks, which operate on fossil fuel
for transportation needs. This credence generally contributes to air pollution which has negative
consequences on health (Srinivasan, O Fallon, Dearry, 2003). The elderly, children, individuals with

Physical inactivity has been known to result in health consequences like obesity and heart diseases.
70%of US health costs are due to obesity associated diseases (Levine, 2011). Coronary artery disease
is the most common type of heart disease estimated to killing about 385,000 people in the America
annually. Coronary Artery Disease statistically, is the most prevalent cause of death in American for
both men and women, causing 600,000 deaths annually, which comes to about 1 in every 4 deaths,
males females. The estimated economic cost of Coronary artery disease in the United States is $109
billion per annum. Which will also include costs of medications, ER admissions and healthcare
services (Cassar, Gersh, Holmes, Rihal, 2009).
Bicycling can help profit the same betterment in physical performance as other specific training
programs, and cycling at a proportionally low intensity for just 30 minutes a day and at least 3 times
weekly can increase life expectancy by several years (Hendriksen, Zuiderveld, Kemper, Bezemer,
2000). Although positive health results cannot be attributed to biking alone, notwithstanding, the
benefits of amalgamating exercise and physical activity into one s day to day lifestyle is
incontrovertible. Exercising has been linked to psychological health and happiness. A study revealed
that people who exercise have an overall happier attitude both psychologically, and behaviorally by

Analysis of The Woman Who Walked into Doors by Roddy Doyle
The Woman Who Walked Into Doors is a novel written by Roddy Doyle, set in Ireland in the early
1990s. This story combines love and violence and shows how the two can go together in one marriage.
The story is written like a diary of Paula Spencer s good and bad memories in her life and gives the
reader the impression that Paula is sharing her life story with us and she is also narrating her life as we
read.
The story begins with a prison guard arriving at Mrs Spencer s door to give Paula the unfortunate
news that her husband, Charlo has died. Then Paula explains the marital status between her and her
husband, which is that they are separated. She talks of their wedding, ... Show more content on

She was married to Charles, better known as Charlo for eighteen years and has four children, Nicola
aged eighteen, John Paul aged sixteen, Leanne aged twelve and Jack aged five and is thirty nine years
of age herself. Her fifth child died during pregnancy, no thanks to the brutal attacks she experienced.
She has become a widow, and before her husband s death, was separated from him. Her father died of
cancer. She has three sisters, one of which is dead and three brothers. Her mother is alive and well.
Paula is an alcoholic and blames it on Charlo because of the horrendous way he treated her. To try and
block this out she started drinking heavily. She fell deeper and deeper into the grip of alcoholism. She
found it made her forget about reality and often made her feel calmer. However, she never drank until
her children were in bed, thus sparing them the heartache of seeing their mother in such a drunken
state. She works as a cleaner, mainly in houses and she cleans an office building on Tuesdays. She
hides her alcohol in the shed and throws the key into the garden until she needs it at night when she
will go and find it. She is very proud of her children because they have helped her survive through the
harder times. Her only main concern is the welfare of her children. She tells us that her favourite child
is Jack, the youngest. Her oldest son, John Paul is living elsewhere and by the time he reaches sixteen,
he is

Objectifies Women By Jeremy Merkel Summary
This week the essay that made the largest impact on me was Marketing to Tweens Objectifies Women
by Jeremy Merkel. The claim is apparent that after reading the title that young girls are being
objectified by marketing. Merkel clearly dislikes the idea of marketing sexy clothes to young girls and
teens. As a mother to three girls I have kept my girls from these types of stores. Which is easy to do
when you live 280 miles from the nearest mall with any of the stores mentioned in the article. The
rules for my girls were and are they can were light colored eye shadow and tented lip gloss when they

Characteristics Of Bull Sharks
Great White sharks are known all around the world for their humongous size and ferocious teeth, but
in the coastal waters of Crystal River there is another predator that might be smaller in size, but is just
as dangerous. Bull sharks, though not the largest species of shark, are known for being the most
aggressive and most likely to attack a human. It is because these and many other terrifying
characteristics that many experts consider the Bull shark to be one of the most dangerous sharks in the
world, (http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/). Bull sharks, like almost any other type of shark, are
known for living in salt water, but part of what makes them such a threat to humans is the fact that
they can be found in brackish or even freshwater as well. What is even more terrifying is that fact that
they have been found as far inland as rivers and tributaries similar to our own King s Bay and Crystal
River. They also can be found in shallow, warm water. While this includes all of the world s oceans, it
also gives more evidence to the fact that Bull sharks could possibly be stalking the very waters our
town is known for. (http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/sharks/FS_bullshark.htm) ... Show more content on

Their noses are known for being short and blunt, giving them extreme similarities to that of a bull,
considering a bull s face is known for looking the same way. When you see Mexican and Spanish
bullfighting, the bull always runs head first into the human that is antagonizing them. This is another
way that a Bull shark is similar to a bull, because they also are known to head butt their prey before
attacking, this aggressive type of behavior helps bring even more light on why this animal was named
after a bull.

Tan s Use Of Bottles In The Sun
Many Americans believe that their country stresses individuality, yet people are rarely seen using
umbrellas in the sun. Though the original function of an umbrella is to keep a person dry when it rains,
they also serve as sun protection. When a person uses an umbrella on a sunny day in America, others
may stare at or question the individual. Many Americans perceive tanning as positive and the behavior
as an embarrassment. Because Americans associate a tan with social status and fear alienation, most
Americans refuse to use an umbrella in the sun. For some Americans, carrying an umbrella in the sun
is ridiculous because tans are often desirable for its indications of wealth and high social status.
Americans believe that tans signify having

Rhetorical Writing Style Analysis
Acquiring a rhetorical writing style
We all long to write like someone else, maybe it is like authors such as Mark Twain , J.R.R Tolkien,
Ernest Hemingway or Shakespeare although I think the last one is much more like a dream than an
actual aspiration but I desire to write like Stephen King and Stephen Krashen , and even attain to
imitate the manner in which they seem to analyze information, and translate such material in a form of
a well developed argument. As a consequence, it seems that the purpose of this summer assignment
was accomplished , as according to Ms. Olaerts the purpose was to give you an introduction to the
kinds of reading you will see throughout the course and types of analysis that will be required of that

Analysis Of The Story Barn Burning By William Faulkner
Freedom In the story Barn Burning, William Faulkner writes about a boy whose father is a crook and
the boy s journey leaving his family. There are two main characters, Colonel Sartoris Snopes (Sarty)
and Abner Snopes. The boy s name in this is Colonel Sartoris Snopes and Abner Snopes is the father.
Abner Snopes feels that the law is always out to get him. So, he believes that his family should stick
r=together no matter what happens. The story is set in the late eighteen hundreds after the civil war.
The first scene of the story takes place in an old grocery store, in which they are holding a hearing for
Abner Snopes. A man named Mr. Harris accuses Abner for burning down his barn, but he has no
proof. The Justice calls Sarty to testify, but he does not speak. With Mr. Harris having no proof and
Sarty not testifying against his father the Justice tells Abner that he should leave the country and not
come back. Abner takes his family and leaves the country where he is not welcomed. This opening
scene sets the stage for the rest of the story. This story shows that over time if we think that the world
is out to get us we will only push those who are close to us away. After leaving the town the family
camped in a grove of oaks. Before going to bed Abner called Sarty and accused him of not standing up
for him. While Abner was talking to Sarty he brought up the thought that the people in the store were
only trying to get at him. The next morning they got up and

Gender Roles And Gender Role Stereotypes
Gender role stereotypes have a negative impact on society by media, movies, commercials, for
instance, Kylie Jenner is a perfect example in which she felt insecure about her body and facial
features to where she was under the constant scrutiny of the media comparing her features to the likes
of her sisters which are, full lips, large back side and hips and petite nose as well as arched eyebrows.
For example, youth girls are seen and reprimanded to play with Barbie dolls, babying equipment and
supplies, nursing tools and adorable plush dogs and teddy bears, on the other hand boys are seen
playing big and bad wrestlers and G.I. Joe action figures with toy guns and knives, soccer balls, basket
balls, and baseballs things that would be outlandish and unusual for girls to be seen playing with. This
also sets a bad example for teenagers and adults and makes them want to do the same because these
are the people they look up to and want to follow in their footsteps. Meanwhile, movies give off a
negative effect for example, in the Walt Disney film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White
is cast out by a jealous step mother who only cares about superficial beauty. Snow White ends up
cooking and cleaning for the seven men dwarfs , while their off at work and despite the fact that she s
been warned of evil, she s easily tricked by the witch in disguise, of course in the end, she gets saved
by a man.
Everything from certain ethnic groups and cultures have a gender role

Cultural Diversity and the Impossibility of a True Melting Pot
The core standards of America are founded, in principle, on the basis of its diversity and equality
among citizens. Begin ning with its Declaration of Independence, the United States distinguished itself
from other modern nation states by establishing a country of men who were different but equal. Yet,
despite the unifying images America projects within and beyond its borders, the idea behind E
Pluribus Unum does not resound as one might assume it would.
E Pluribus Unum was originally intended to be both a representation of the union of the thirteen
colonies and an expression of the United States as a country formed by immigrants of many different
backgrounds. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
E Pluribus Unum may show the United States to be a country formed of many different cultures, and it
may suggest the equality of all people, but even today many people, especially those of non European
ancestry, are often looked upon as secondary or non citizens and are placed in a socially subservient
position.
Since September 11, 2001, various communities within the United States seemed to be uniting for a
time, despite the differences that typically undermine the original intentions behind E Pluribus Unum.
Especially in places such as New York City, which is known world wide as a mecca of diversity
within its tightly confined parameters, people have been embracing each other as people rather than as
members of cultures other than their own. But there has been a backlash as well, an increase in violent
types of discrimination and prejudice in and near communities of Americans whose descent is Middle
Eastern. Many non Middle Eastern Americans blame all people who appear Middle Eastern as
culpable for what happened on September 11. So the attention paid to culture, now, is based on the
differences between Middle Eastern cultures and non Middle Eastern cultures in America.
I wanted to explore how American citizens choose, especially after the events of September 11, to deal
with cultures found within the United States that differ from their own. I chose to interview two
people with strong, contrasting convictions about

  • 2. Concerns about Health in the United Kingdom have Increased... The worries of health and environmental issues in the United Kingdom have increased the demand of organic food mainly to reduce off farm inputs and to increase health nutrients in our daily intake . The UK is a MEDC, because it is considered as a rich country, and due to the UK receiving raw resources from LEDC. The UK uses these raw materials for the outcome of any industry. One of UK s biggest industries is the food industry, because everyone needs food and nutrients in their body, to be able to stay alive. The food industry is a primary industry and a secondary industry because the food industry consist of growing raw crops, making it a primary industry, and the food industry also uses these raw crops to make other food/products. The reasons why health and environmental concerns in the United Kingdom has increased the demand of organic food is that there are physical damage and effects on the environment , the society is motivated to be healthier , and lastly it s worth the price . The environment is getting worse due to many reasons, one of being off farm input , which is effecting and damaging the environment. Off farm input consists of fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides and pesticides, which is used on agriculture to grow faster and larger. These off farm input is effecting and damaging the environment, through the chemicals in the pesticides and fertilizers, creating groundwater contamination. People do what they want to they find the right place to do it, and they do it at the butterfly circus where anyone can be anything, and they can be themselves (who they truly are). In the butterfly circus, Mr Mendez says that the butterfly circus is made up of people who haven t had much dignity in their lives (e.g. they get rejected from their previous work (e.g. Circus) and they were left with nothing. Everyone tells lies every now and then, but if people believe in every lie that is said to them then they would forward those lies onto other people. When Mr Mendez sees the (freak) side show and once he arrives at Will s section (which has curtains covering him); the things that the showman said about Will is horrifying and is a lie. Will believed everything that the showman said; the showman said God himself has turned his back on him and this next thing has been cursed since birth . No one should be expressed like that. • 4. Green Forest Is Easy On The Eye Green forest is easy on the eye, it breaks the harshness of roads and buildings and adds interest to farmland and mountain slopes. In its sanctuary birdsong and air currents play with your auditory senses and aroma s of nectar, decayed logs and leaves fill the air. After a long absence from New Zealand, I decided to reacquaint myself with the types of forests found in the Land of the Long White cloud. In this article, I have based the forest communities on the categories from The New Zealand Plant Conservation Network: Beech Forest, Podocarp/broadleaf and Kauri Podocarp/broadleaf. An introduction New Zealand is in a temperate zone, located between the Antarctic Circle and the Tropic of Capricorn. It is also in the path of the roaring forties, a strong westerly wind circling the globe, between the latitudes of forty and fifty degrees. Etched by fiords, mountain ranges, volcanoes, plains, plateaus and just over 15,000 kilometres of coastline, it shapes a diverse landscape. Over time, plants have evolved and adapted to this landscape and climate. Today there are 2,418 native species of forest plants, which includes ferns and grasses. Native mosses, liverworts, hornworts and lichens make up approximately another 3,480 plants. Most plants are evergreen with about (still counting) 28 deciduous species. The first source was written by Qui Jin, an early twentieth century Chinese feminist. In her essay titled An Address to Two Hundred Million Fellow Country Women, she details the injustices to Chinese women in this period. Jin also connects the fate of the Country to chinese women s futures. By doing so she puts a nationalist view into her essay. The other source is another feminist piece; this time coming from Bahithat al Badiya, where she criticizes Egypt s religious traditions in effect to women s freedom. Both women show some of the feminist ideas that were circling society at the beginning of the twentieth century. Throughout the turn of the century worldwide insecurities were rampant. Although modernism was Another insecurity would be the changing of roles for women in a society that was already losing many social constructs due to the rising popularity of modernist views. However, with decreasing economies and job loss, people start turning on their governments, and trying to revert to older more traditional ways. Modern views were starting to be rejected by many, and the growing anxieties of modern women fed to the views that change is for the worst. Both these women s radical views represented the desire for new identities. A common desire for the time, as people grew dissatisfied with their governments and wanted reform. • 6. Comparing Democracy In Norway And The United States Of that less than 5% remaining full democracies, Norway has been ranked the best democracy in the world. On the other hand, the relegation of the United States from a full democracy to a flawed democracy can be traced back to American voters losing trust in political institutions and the increasing role of lobbying. With their automatic voter registration, collaborating political parties, and healthy relationship between lawmakers and citizens, Norway s democratic success is no surprise in comparison to the United States of America. The political structure of both nations also contributes to their major differences. Norway is a constitutional monarchy with the king as the head of state and a parliamentary democracy system composed of three branches: the executive, legislative, and judicial. The constitution grants executive powers to the king, but the cabinet, appointed by the prime minister, exercises these rights. The monarch appoints a prime minister to acts as the political leader and head of government. However, this theory of PPP attracts the scholars till the XX century due to the contribution of a Swedish scholar Gustav Cassel in 1910s (Taylor, 2006). Cassel presented PPP theory using an equivalent term theoretical rate of exchange three years ago before he first defined the term PPP and place it into a systematic framework. Additionally, Cassel is also the first person who tested PPP empirically. The cumulative CPI inflation rates of different countries are suggested to be calculated and used to obtain the most effective exchange rate by Cassel to maintain the parity of purchasing ... However, LOP does not always hold in practice, according to Taylor and Taylor (2004), factors like tariffs, transportation costs, non tariffs barriers and transaction costs violate the LOP. Engel and Rogers found that there is a positive relationship between the price differentials and the distance between cities in their study of comparable goods price differentials in US and Canada, it is obvious that transportation costs is the main factor that cause this price differential. As for Absolute Purchasing Power Parity, it is a more comprehensive way to measure PPP and its equation is as follows: ∑▒P_i =E∑▒P_i^* In which the sums are consumer price index instead of the good price. CPI represents the fluctuation of goods prices in a period and it contains a basket of different goods so can bring PPP to a more general situation. However, there are some problems associated with the absolute version of PPP. It needs to be considered that which CPI should be taken into account and how to deal with the fluctuation of CPI over time. A Brief Look Into The Evolution Of The From Atomic Theory A Brief Look into the Evolution of DFT from Atomic Theory Quantum Theory The idea of atom existed as early as the Greek and Indian civilizations but more as a philosophical thought rather than a well defined theory based on empirical evidence. Atom was assumed as something that is indestructible and the smallest component that makes up matter. It took almost 2000 years for the development of modern day atomic theory with proof for the existence of atoms and further subatomic particles. The archaeological classification of human history as stone age, bronze age and iron age better depicts the evolution of macroscopic chemistry first. In 1923 De Broglie described the movement of electrons as a wave with an associated wavelength (λ) related as λ = h/p, where p is the momentum and h is Planck s constant. This hypothesis was confirmed in experiments and Stern later generalized this behavior to all microscopic particles. The contradictory nature of wave particle duality, the concept of a non localized wave versus a localized particle, posed a problem in simultaneous description of position and momentum which was theorized by Heisenberg in his uncertainty principle. This necessitated a new theory to describe the non deterministic nature of atomic particles. Erwin Schrodinger in 1926 postulated the concept of a wave function Ψ(x, t), the state of a system which is a function of particle coordinates, and its change with time. Max Born dissected wave function and presented |Ψ(x, t)2|dx as the probability of finding a particle at time t in the region between x and x+dx. Born along with Oppenheimer later proposed a modification to the wave function separating the nuclear motion from electron motion due to the large difference in masses. Time independent, non relativistic Schrodinger equation is an eigen value problem and the solution to the Schrodinger s Equation gives us the wave function. For atoms of higher atomic number, it becomes cumbersome to solve this equation, how it is handled we will discuss shortly. Everyone who has ever become fond of an animal knows how much one small aspect of your life can impact so many things. Unlike human connections, communication is more difficult due to the fact that animals don t speak English; A simple glare or rub from an animal means a million times more to most than a well constructed conversation between peers. Besides natural factors influencing life events, the actions of the people surrounding us make our experiences different. This was seen in the Socrates Oedipus the King which is about a man, Oedipus, and his journey of realizing his true self. After King Laius of Thebes was murdered, a curse was placed on Thebes. Creon is sent to seek the advice of Apollo, who then states that the only way for the curse to be removed is if the killer of Laius is executed. Tiresias, a blind prophet, tells Oedipus that he is guilty for the murder of Laius. Jocasta tells Oedipus not to believe in the word of the prophets, as they have been wrong before, giving the prophecy of her son stating that he would sleep with her, and murder her husband. Jocasta believed that her son was killed, but she recalls that Oedipus is her son after he states the same prophecy. After she remembers this, she kills herself and Oedipus gouges out his eyes. Oedipus experiences an extreme downfall during his time due to his lack of self knowledge. Queen Jocasta and King Laius are guilty for the degeneration of Oedipus as they each did not successfully terminate the prophecy, causing Oedipus to experience things he shouldn t have. It is because these and many other terrifying characteristics that many experts consider the Bull shark to be one of the most dangerous sharks in the world, (http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/). Bull sharks, like almost any other type of shark, are known for living in salt water, but part of what makes them such a threat to humans is the fact that they can be found in brackish or even freshwater as well. What is even more terrifying is that fact that they have been found as far inland as rivers and tributaries similar to our own King s Bay and Crystal River. They also can be found in shallow, warm water. While this includes all of the world s oceans, it also gives more evidence to the fact that Bull sharks could possibly be stalking the very waters our town is known for. • 32. Analysis Of The Story Barn Burning By William Faulkner Freedom In the story Barn Burning, William Faulkner writes about a boy whose father is a crook and the boy s journey leaving his family. There are two main characters, Colonel Sartoris Snopes (Sarty) and Abner Snopes. The boy s name in this is Colonel Sartoris Snopes and Abner Snopes is the father. Abner Snopes feels that the law is always out to get him. So, he believes that his family should stick r=together no matter what happens. The story is set in the late eighteen hundreds after the civil war. The first scene of the story takes place in an old grocery store, in which they are holding a hearing for Abner Snopes. A man named Mr. Harris accuses Abner for burning down his barn, but he has no proof. The Justice calls Sarty to testify, but he does not speak. With Mr. Harris having no proof and Sarty not testifying against his father the Justice tells Abner that he should leave the country and not come back. Abner takes his family and leaves the country where he is not welcomed. This opening scene sets the stage for the rest of the story. • 33. Gender Roles And Gender Role Stereotypes Gender role stereotypes have a negative impact on society by media, movies, commercials, for instance, Kylie Jenner is a perfect example in which she felt insecure about her body and facial features to where she was under the constant scrutiny of the media comparing her features to the likes of her sisters which are, full lips, large back side and hips and petite nose as well as arched eyebrows. For example, youth girls are seen and reprimanded to play with Barbie dolls, babying equipment and supplies, nursing tools and adorable plush dogs and teddy bears, on the other hand boys are seen playing big and bad wrestlers and G.I. Joe action figures with toy guns and knives, soccer balls, basket balls, and baseballs things that would be outlandish and unusual for girls to be seen playing with. This also sets a bad example for teenagers and adults and makes them want to do the same because these are the people they look up to and want to follow in their footsteps. Meanwhile, movies give off a negative effect for example, in the Walt Disney film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Snow White is cast out by a jealous step mother who only cares about superficial beauty. Snow White ends up cooking and cleaning for the seven men dwarfs , while their off at work and despite the fact that she s been warned of evil, she s easily tricked by the witch in disguise, of course in the end, she gets saved by a man. Cultural Diversity and the Impossibility of a True Melting Pot The core standards of America are founded, in principle, on the basis of its diversity and equality among citizens. Begin ning with its Declaration of Independence, the United States distinguished itself from other modern nation states by establishing a country of men who were different but equal. Yet, despite the unifying images America projects within and beyond its borders, the idea behind E Pluribus Unum does not resound as one might assume it would. E Pluribus Unum was originally intended to be both a representation of the union of the thirteen colonies and an expression of the United States as a country formed by immigrants of many different backgrounds. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... E Pluribus Unum may show the United States to be a country formed of many different cultures, and it may suggest the equality of all people, but even today many people, especially those of non European ancestry, are often looked upon as secondary or non citizens and are placed in a socially subservient position. Since September 11, 2001, various communities within the United States seemed to be uniting for a time, despite the differences that typically undermine the original intentions behind E Pluribus Unum. Especially in places such as New York City, which is known world wide as a mecca of diversity within its tightly confined parameters, people have been embracing each other as people rather than as members of cultures other than their own. But there has been a backlash as well, an increase in violent types of discrimination and prejudice in and near communities of Americans whose descent is Middle Eastern. Many non Middle Eastern Americans blame all people who appear Middle Eastern as culpable for what happened on September 11. So the attention paid to culture, now, is based on the differences between Middle Eastern cultures and non Middle Eastern cultures in America.
