ACTIVITY 2 – INTERVIEW OF THE SCHOOL TEACHER
1. What school activities do you conduct that allow the participation of the people
in the barangay?
 The activities that the school conducts which allow the participation of the people
in the barangay are Brigada Eskwela, Family Day, PTA Day, Graduation Day, etc.
2. Are there community activities that you, as teachers join? Please name. Do
your students/pupils also join these activities?
 Yes, there are activities that the teacher is used to join. The activities are Barangay
Fiesta and Sports Festival. Yes, the students also actively join the said activities.
3. What learning do your students/pupils gain from the participation?
 The students learn to appreciate the essence of celebrating the annual fiesta
honoring the saint. They also gain insights on the importance of teamwork and
collaboration as they join the sports festival. Another thing is, they develop their
skills in playing ball games.
4. What does the community benefit from joining in your school activities?
 The community will be closer to the school and be aware of the updates of the
school. The community will have time to socialize every time there is a family day,
moment to settle down problems. They will also be of great help in maintaining the
school’s environment clean and green.
5. As per your observation, are the lessons that you taught in the school
transferred to the homes of the community?
 Yes, the lessons that she has taught in school are transferred to the homes or the
community because as much as possible, every time she teaches, there is integration
of real-life situations where these could be applied to. The moral she taught is verily
applied to the community.
6. What community resources have you used in your teaching?
 The community resources that the teacher used in teaching are:
 Realia
 Instruments
 Pool
 Courts
 Barangay hall
 Books

My Observations
Barangay Caridad is a well-managed and well-occupied barangay. It’s not so far
and not so near from the town proper. It is run by a very energetic, handsome and
committed captain, Mr. Jesselton Dico. Since it is just a barangay, some of the facilities
are not present but all the essential and useful facilities for the community are present.
Caridad is an agricultural land where the basic agriculture-relevant resources are present.
The traditional and updated means of transportation are also present. I believe there are
more than one development program intended for the said barangay. It is properly and
effectively run the current barangay captain since the economy is stable; the moment you
want to have fun, you can find it; the moment you like to go somewhere else, just a blink
of an eye you find yourself at the place you want to go; etc.

My Reflections
Barangay Caridad
The School’s Community
This is the barangay hall of Barangay Caridad, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. It
is where all the meetings are being conducted from time to time. The development
programs are also usually first talked here. Some of the activities are also being held here.
Thus, it is very purposeful and convenient. All the members of the community are welcome
every time they visit. The personnel are hospitable and warm-welcoming.
School-Community Collaboration
View of a Teacher
A teacher shall make himself available anywhere and anytime needed by the
community in order to build harmonious correspondence with the community. A teacher
should actively participate in community movement for the purpose of moral, social,
educational, economic and civil betterment for both school and community. In reverse, the
community shall extend services to the school for utmost progress. There should be a give
and take process. Meaning, the school gives and the community takes something, and the
community gives and the school takes something. Both need each other. Everybody must
take part in the process so as to see clearer tomorrow.
1. Which resources that you have identified are present in the community? Can these
be utilized in your teaching? How?
 The resources that I have identified which are present in the community and could
be utilized in the teaching-learning process are the pools, courts, book, instruments
and realia. Pool could be used in my swimming class. Courts could be used if I let
them play ball games as part of physical education. Musical instruments are of great
use if ever school’s instruments are inadequate or lacking. Realia could be useful if
something which I’d like to use for better understanding a concept.

My Affirmed Concepts
CONCEPT REMARKS ( √ x )
1. A teacher can utilize resources available in the
community.
√
2. A teacher should teach with a view in mind that the
learners transfer their learning in home and
community.
√
3. Teachers are agents of change of the community. √
4. Barangay officials, health workers and other human
resources can be invited as resource speakers in
school.
√
5. The teacher should always be willing to support the
community in various activities.
√
6. Teachers and schools should be unmindful of the
community activities.
x
7. Communities should provide support for the learning
of their children in school.
√
8. The sole responsibility of the teacher is to teach in the
school.
x
9. All schools are part and parcel of the community
where they are situated.
√
10. Community officials should take over the
responsibilities of the teachers.

My Future Application
1. When I become a teacher, I should see to it
that the community will actively involve
themselves every time the school conducts
activities so as to strengthen school-
community relations.
2. When I become a teacher, I should extend
services willingly to the community keeping in
mind that as teacher, it is not just my sole
responsibility to teach in school but in
community as well.
3. When I become a teacher, I should make
use of the community resources effectively
and wisely so as to support my teachings.

Bayson Course : BSED- English Year and Section: III Cooperating School : JH Cerilles State College Date of Visit : February 6, 2015 My Observations Barangay Caridad is a well-managed and well-occupied barangay. It’s not so far and not so near from the town proper. It is run by a very energetic, handsome and committed captain, Mr. Jesselton Dico. Since it is just a barangay, some of the facilities are not present but all the essential and useful facilities for the community are present. Caridad is an agricultural land where the basic agriculture-relevant resources are present. The traditional and updated means of transportation are also present. I believe there are more than one development program intended for the said barangay. It is properly and effectively run the current barangay captain since the economy is stable; the moment you want to have fun, you can find it; the moment you like to go somewhere else, just a blink of an eye you find yourself at the place you want to go; etc.

  • 6. This is the barangay hall of Barangay Caridad, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. It is where all the meetings are being conducted from time to time. The development programs are also usually first talked here. Some of the activities are also being held here. Thus, it is very purposeful and convenient. All the members of the community are welcome every time they visit. The personnel are hospitable and warm-welcoming. School-Community Collaboration View of a Teacher A teacher shall make himself available anywhere and anytime needed by the community in order to build harmonious correspondence with the community. A teacher should actively participate in community movement for the purpose of moral, social, educational, economic and civil betterment for both school and community. In reverse, the community shall extend services to the school for utmost progress. There should be a give and take process. Meaning, the school gives and the community takes something, and the community gives and the school takes something. Both need each other. Everybody must take part in the process so as to see clearer tomorrow. 1. Which resources that you have identified are present in the community? Can these be utilized in your teaching? How?  The resources that I have identified which are present in the community and could be utilized in the teaching-learning process are the pools, courts, book, instruments and realia. Pool could be used in my swimming class. Courts could be used if I let them play ball games as part of physical education. Musical instruments are of great use if ever school’s instruments are inadequate or lacking. Realia could be useful if something which I’d like to use for better understanding a concept.
