This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

5. What makes you happy as a teacher?
The understanding of my students towards the lessons that we deal every day

I get disappointed whenever my pupils will not apply their learnings in the
real context especially in the field of Mathematics.

From the answer given by the teacher you interviewed, is the teacher a professional
teacher?
1. Why do you think so?
Yes because he showed mastery in his profession as well as the professional
requirements for teaching. He has high rate in the PBET and he has many skills to be
used in teaching.
2. Why do you think so?
(I did not consider the teacher to be non-professional.)
3. Can you find teachers who are professional teachers among the teachers whom you
know?
Yes, there are many. Our institution have many competent professional
teachers. One of these teachers is Mrs. Darlin Jane Balbastro who topped the LET.
4. What characteristics or qualities distinguish a professional teacher from a professional
teacher?
A professional teacher have a license in teaching and he/she have mastered
his/her field of instruction. On the other hand, non-professional teacher don’t have a
license in teaching and this teacher may or may not be a master on his/her field.

Consider that you will be a future professional teacher, what standards of behavior
should you uphold based on the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers?
When I become a professional teacher in the future, I should follow the Code of
Ethics for Professional Teachers. I need to uphold the following behavior:
Adhere to the state and the laws
Follow rules and regulations in the community where I belong
Show appropriate values especially in school
Have a loving personality; that is, I will respect my students and show them
compassion.
I will live a virtuous life
Follow a good philosophy in life
