contribute to an individual s development of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). In fact, over 20
different genes have been identified that increase one s susceptibility of developing ALS. Therefore,
an analysis of a recent research study, which elaborates on the genetics of ALS, is essential to
understanding these types of investigations and how they are significant in modern medicine. With
that being said, the purpose of this paper is to review a recently published investigation pertaining to
ALS genetics by Cady et al. (2014) in JAMA Neurology.

ALS is a devastating disorder that has an incidence rate of 5,000 individuals and a prevalence rate of

Gary Soto was born in Fresno, California, in April, 1952, to working class Mexican American parents.
At a young age, he worked in the fields of the San Joaquin Valley. He was not academically motivated
as a child, but became interested in poetry during his high school years. Soto uses his cultural
experiences lead him to write about his character how he does and throughout all of his short stories,
books, and poems he adds in Spanish words, to show us the kind of environment he grew up in as a
Spanish American. Reflecting on the obstacles he had to overcome such as racial discrimination and
the ethnic boundaries, to get where he is today.
Gary grew up in a poor Catholic household. His father and grandfather had blue collar jobs and his

My Childhood Memories Of My Family
Beginnings I was born on June 13, 2005, in Peoria IL. I have five family members. My dad s name is
Mike, my mom s name is Amber, my brother s name is Andrew, and my twin sister s names are Macy
and Mariah. I currently live in Goodfield, Il, in a subdivision called Lakes at Oak Valley. We live by a
big pond that is great for fishing and swimming. We have hosted many big events at my house and it
is perfect for family get togethers or swim parties. For my family vacations, I have been to the
following places/states: Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, California, Alabama, Connecticut, Oregon,

I could relate more with this one because of what my family went through. Behavioral therapy hit
home, by this I mean when my brother behavior was changing due to using weed my family behavior
was affected in the process too. My parents became stricter with my sister and I. Every time

Girl, I expected it to be mainly about the war, concentration camps, and the way the whole outside
world has dealt with the war. In actuality, the book was about the days and nights Anne Frank
experienced living in the secret annex. This made the book better because it opened my eyes to the
reality that Anne was a real person just like me. She had feelings, thoughts, friends, and family. Anne

In the past two weeks we have managed to finish an old english poetry, Beowulf and watch a
documentary/film about evolution of superhero comic books. As we read the book, we were
acquainted with the customs, culture, and life of the Anglo Saxons. Ancestral Heritage and Individual
Reputation were the novel s prime factors. In Beowulf, I have noticed that every character is
introduced by being referred to their family lineage and as their fathers son or daughter. Fame played a
prominent role, because that s how the warrior or individual is evoked after death and even when
alive. Most characters pursue to live up to their ancestor s standards because of the pride they have for
how they acted boldly. Beowulf was very exaggerated, but that principal helped readers like me to
understand the importance of a scene or character. There was many repetitions through this poem,
which helped us have a fixed thought of what this novel was about. It repeated scenarios and
descriptions of a character countless times so the person reading it knows what was the novel mainly
about. I feel like the repetition and exaggeration helped this english poetry be passed down through
generations and stay alive currently. It gave us a picture of what the customs and life was like in
Scandinavia for the Anglo Saxons. Kinship, Brotherhood, Ancestry, and Glory was the essential motifs

In the short story Flight by John Steinbeck, nature established superiority over men; it became the goal
of the main character to overcome the struggles the environment presented. In Pepé s attempt to
