Tuberculosis Is A Disease Caused By The Bacteria Tubercle...
Introduction:
Tuberculosis is a disease caused by the bacteria tubercle bacilli (NSW Health 2014). It is one of
mankind s oldest infections and has plagued humans throughout recorded and archaeological
history (Encyclopaedia Britannica 2014). Tuberculosis comes in an infectious and disease form.
The infectious form is the result of contraction of TB bacteria that remains dormant and is neither
symptomatic nor contagious. The disease form of TB is caused by active TB bacteria and results in
the contagious and fatal tuberculosis disease.
History of Tuberculosis
Tubercle bacilli emerged as a pathogen from East Africa, and as people migrated so did the
disease. Tuberculosis lesions contain acid fast bacilli which have been found in Egyptian and
Peruvian mummies (Schlossberg page 97). From these findings, historians and microbiologists
have concluded that mycobacterium is millions of years old.
Physiology of mycobacterium:
Tubercle bacilli is a type of mycobacterium. Its prototrophic, metabolically flexible membrane (US
National Library of Medicine 2008) enables it to metabolize and reproduce without specific
substances, increasing its speed of replication and infection. The tubercle bacilli s rod shape
enables it to withstand a combination of selective pressures (Kerseik K 2013), including nutrient
access and predation. Nutrient absorption is maximised by the cell s ability to match increases in
cell size by increasing its cell length. This maintains its high surface

Classical Music Vs. Contemporary Music
By universal, they mean that music exists in every culture. However, the meanings and emotions
attached to the music are interpreted differently depending on the listener. People will associate
different meanings and feelings with a musical performance based on their cultural upbringing and
life experience.
When we categorize music, we use terms such as classical, folk or popular to distinguish different
types of music. However, using labels is problematic because there can be stereotyping associated
with the terms. For example, there is a notion that classical music is better than folk and popular
music because it suggests a connection with European classical music. Folk music is considered
lower in value, and popular music has the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each culture has its own customs and patterns, but I don t think that there is one that should be
considered normative over others. I grew up in a Vietnamese household, so some of my family s
customs are different from the average American family s customs. I consider both cultures to be a
part of my life, but neither takes precedence over the other.
The four basic components of music are timbre, pitch, rhythm and dynamics. Out of the four, timbre
is most helpful in identifying world music tradition. Each culture has unique media in its music, and
the characteristic timbre of each medium allows us to identify the media used.
Examples of aerophones include the saxophone, which is a reed instrument, the European flute, a
type of flute, and the brass trumpet, a type of trumpet.
The two basic types of chordophones are lutes and zithers. An example of a lute is a guitar, and
examples of zithers are the piano and the Japanese koto.
Idiophones are instruments that produce sound when they are plucked, struck, or shaken. Examples
of idiophones include lamellophones (plucked), gongs (struck) and rattles (shaken).
Membranophones are categorized by their shape, and examples are Goblet drums, kazoos, and the
bongo.
A pitch is the frequency level of a tone, while a tuning system is a set of commonly used pitches in
a musical tradition. A scale is less encompassing than a tuning system; it is the set of pitches used in
a performance.

The Cold Equations And Tom Godwin s Of Mice And Men
Even out in space like in Tom Godwin s Cold Equations, problems can present themselves, and
characters soon figure out something significant. They open their eyes, in a way, and change
because of it. The theme that someone has to open their eyes to see the bigger picture is shown
in Tom Godwin s The Cold Equations, Morley Callaghan s All the Years of Her Life, How Far She
Went by Mary Hood, and John Steinbecks Of Mice And Men.
Opening one s eyes to the bigger picture is shown in The Cold Equations by the teenage girl in
the story. She was discovered on the EDS as a stowaway, and because of the specific amount of
fuel that the ship is loaded with, any stowaway has to be jettisoned from the ship. She did not
know this, and is devastated when she realizes what has to happen. The story says, She walked

This girl wants to get away from her grandmother, and does so by getting with a biker. Realizing
what she d let happen, the grandmother goes after the girl, and is able to track her down. She is
eventually able to get the girl back, but the biker and his friend chase after them with an
intention to kill. The girls and their dog escape and are able to hide. In order to protect her
granddaughter, the grandmother drowns the beloved dog. The story says, And she said again, It
was him or you. I know that (415). This is saying that the grandmother knew that she was either
going to lose her dog or her granddaughter, and that the girl was more important. This opens the
girls eyes to the fact that her grandmother truly does love her and that any hatred between them is
useless to think about. This changes the girl s view of her grandmother, likely forever. The last
story that contains the stated theme is Of Mice And

The Importance Of Blood Relations Towards Men
This paper examines the Canadian Blood Service s (CBS) current one year deferral policy
towards men who have sexual contact with other men (MSM). Homosexual or bisexual men can
donate blood and blood products only after not having any form of sexual contact with other men
for one year (Canadian Blood Services, 2016). This paper studies how this policy contributes to
stigma against MSM. This paper also aims to address this social inequity by promoting an
advocacy that focus on donors risky sexual behaviors than their sexual identities.

Quebec, and operates under national rules, regulations, and policies (Canadian Blood Services,
2016). One of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, MSM deferral policy discriminates against a specific group of people from
donating blood due to their sexual orientation as it prohibits those who are in general good health,
thus, are fit to donate (Diaz, 2013). Gay males may also neglect HIV testing due to fear of
stigmatization (O Bryne Watts, 2012), which further impairs their access to healthcare services and
promotes health and social inequity.
The residual risk for HIV is estimated at less than 1 in 8 million units at Canadian Blood
Services (Goldman et. al, 2014). The risk is so low that it can only be estimated after all
safeguard measures have been followed (Billick et. al, 2015). While the deferral policy puts stigma
against MSM, it may have helped lessen the risk of BT contamination and helped promote safety
among blood recipients through a precautionary approach.
This paper aims to advocate for changes regarding the CBS one year policy deferral for MSM and
CBS donor questionnaire. The CBS screening questions that identify sexual identity or orientation
should be eliminated because they create stigma against MSM or females who have sexual contact
with MSM. While HIV infection are more prevalent within the MSM community, they are not
mutually exclusive to this population and exclusion questionnaires which identify a person s sexual
orientation may be indefinite because of people s different

Economic Development Of A Country s Economy Essay
We often classify countries and areas in the world by how developed they are, but this is term is
relative, depending on your measurement. There are many factors that count towards a country s
economy that is difficult to quantify. The popular measurements for economic development are
Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is the value of all the recognized goods and services
produced in a country in a specific period of time usually a year, and Gross National Income
(GNI), quantified by the summation of the GDP and the net income acquired overseas
(Investopedia). There is GDP per capita which is the indicator of the personal income of the
country (Chidakel and Herrero).
If we go by these numbers we conclude Africa is underdeveloped because all the numbers are low
compared to the known developed countries like Germany, Norway, Canada etc. In Ethiopia the
annual GDP per capita is $505 in 2013 (Indicators), while Libya s annual GDP per capita is
$11,964 in 2013 (Indicators) and the United States of America annual GDP per capita is $53,042
in 2013 (Indicators). Libya being one of countries in Africa that are above the average, when
compared to the USA it is about 4 times poorer, Ethiopia is about 100 times poorer when
compared to the USA, now this comparison does not tells much about the economy in the country,
since goods in African countries do not have the same value in Europe or USA, we need to look at
the purchasing power parity (PPP). In Ethiopia the GDP (PPP) is 118.2

2b Theatre Performance Analysis
2b Theatre Company strives to create theatre that is vital, innovative, and challenging (Barry,
Black), while investigating the meaning of what it is to be. They use their own experiences,
influenced by the urban intellectual style (Barry, Black), of Halifax, Nova Scotia to explore the
phenomena of various shared aspects of the human experience and allow that to reflect into their
work. They also believe that at the core of the theatrical event is a unique and particular interaction
between audience and performance. With each project, we re examine and re shape this
relationship, creating a different spatial and metaphorical relationship between the audience and the
stage (Barry, Black). They explore the resonance captured in innovative... Show more content on

First of all, I read this play as very cartoonish and surreal. It s is not about what is going on at a
glance, because the play at face value can appear nonsensical, we must highlight the underlying
themes of the play. It is a play about class structure, poverty, madness, morality and animal nature
vs. societal nature. This will speak greatly to 2b s intellectually charged audience and will fit in
nicely with the company s exploration of the human condition. My inspiration for the direction
of this adaptation are the works of David Firth. He is a flash animator. He posts many of his
pieces on YouTube and he is most commonly known as the guy who created the Salad Fingers
cartoon. My main points of reference for inspiration is his series Sock, which are experimental
shorts based off of dreams, and his Not Stanley shorts. I would recommend you watch Sock 5:
Three Skins Without Men (particularly at 5:02, as it is very similar to a scene from Woyzeck).
The reason I want you to see this video is because I want the play structured like an incoherent
dream with clear themes. The guttural reaction are clear while the delivery is distorted. I think 2b
has the resources to create a Woyzeck using multimedia. We can combine sound design, flash
animation, and projection with performers. We also mix voice acting with physical acting. With
flash animation we can use photographs to animate, and have real textures and faces with the
movement sort of seeming unskilled and distorted. We don t need any physical sets, and minimal
props. We create our settings with diagetic and non diagetic sound and projected animations. We
would require a black box theatre, access to the right tech to facilitate the animated setting and
various characters being animations, and a cast of 4 performers to act as both physical performers
and provide faces and voices for the flash

How Did Lenin Contribute To The Failure Of The Provisional...
The Russian Revolution of 1917 was one of the most important events of the twentieth century.
Having to deal with his growing opposition and the embarrassing defeats Tsar Nicholas II faced
in World War I, the Tsar was left with no choice but to abdicate his throne and get replaced by the
Provisional Government. The Provisional Government however failed to disengage from WWI or
resolve the economic downfall that resulted from the collapse of the old order. Due to these
failures the Provisional Government also broke down and were unable to bring Russiaback to the
functioning democracy it once was. Because of the lack of an operating government The
Bolsheviks were able to seize power without competition, for a long time. Although Lenin s
leadership is widely regarded as the reason for The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Past events in Lenin s life steered him towards the path of a revolutionary. After the execution of
his brother because of his involvement in anti tsarist activities, Lenin took an interest in political
studies and joined many discussion groups, quickly rising to the position of leader. Lenin was
also very strong willed and brilliant, making him a formidable leader. Unlike the Provisional
Government which lacked support and authority, he made sure there were internal conflicts
between the Bolsheviks, in turn creating a ruthless political party. Even though he had the
leadership qualities that lead the Bolsheviks to victory, it should be remembered Lenin only
returned to Russia after the February Revolution, therefore making the fall of the tsarist regime
and the Provisional Government taking control prerequisites for the Bolsheviks rise to power in
1917. Further proving evidence that Lenin s leadership qualities were more or less a trigger
factor that lead to the collapse of the old order, as he wouldn t have been able to express his

What Is The Malfunction Essay
Thursday the 31st of August, I, Heather Scott had the pleasure and privilege to do an external
clinical rotation at the army base Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. During orientation, we were
flattered to be told that by doing so we are providing a service for our country.
I saw four soldiers as my patients. The dentist would do a brief external and internal exam,
palpating lymph nodes and checking pocket depths. I hand scaled and used the cavitron when
working with all my patients. I polished, flossed and applied a melon flavored varnish sealant. I
disliked that the polish was not fine grit, and would have to research and provide such evidence if
I were to ever to be responsible myself for the best care of patients. Somewhere along my ... Show

My patient and I discussed ways to manage flossing with a lingual retainer as my patient stated he
dislikes flossing. He seemed very receptive to the idea of a water flosser. Another patient was very
interested that he could prevent decay from progressing into a cavity that would require a filling, if
he were to follow my instructions in how not to just stick the floss straight in between the teeth. I
showed him how the floss can hug the tooth and glide into the gums and not hurt.
This opportunity, having been given leeway to just do, allowed me to realize that I would be able
to appreciate the use of my loupes. All other times, when smothered in my personal protective
equipment, I could never imagine adding one more ounce of equipment to my person and the
inevitability of its malfunction. My loupes and their usage have always been seen only as
another hindrance in situations where I am already uncomfortable and unsure. Due to the light
calculus levels seen in the patents I was given to work with, I see the need for best conditions,
such as light and malfunction. I am eager to go back, bring and use my loupes, and wipe them
down with Sani Cloths. I see how quickly I could work with no fear of is this right? Given my
own slack to just my job, I could easily get through a patient s cleaning within an hour. I liked
how I was just able to grab whatever instrument I had and find a way to make it work. I enjoyed

In Breast Cancer, The Estrogen-Estrogen Receptor Complex
In breast cancer, the estrogen estrogen receptor complex cause cell proliferation (Frank, 2013).
Hormone therapies can target the effects of hormones in two ways: 1) by stopping the production
of estrogen and testosterone, reducing their levels, and 2) by binding to the hormone receptor and
blocking the hormone from binding (Frank, 2013). In breast cancer, drugs such as Lupron prevent
the ovaries from making estrogen by blocking cues from the brain that regulate the ovaries (Frank,
2013). In prostate cancer, Lupron works the same way to prevent the testes from producing
testosterone (Frank, 2013). Drugs such as tamoxifen (breast cancer) and flutamide (prostate cancer)
bind to their respective hormone receptors and bloc the hormone from... Show more content on

To even have a chance at success, health education programs must be implemented before the
age of 14 (Williams, 1987). Health education programs are being implemented in schools that
will teach about the dangers of smoking and passive smoking (Williams, 1987). This is a
preventative measure to decrease the amount of people in society who are smoking and prevent
children from picking up this habit. Another health disparity is ethnic background. A study found
that Asian women are referred for late treatment for a breast lump compared to Caucasian
women (Winship, 1997). Part of this disparity is the disbelief that Asian women can/will develop
breast cancer (Winship, 1997). Hospitals and medical professionals also contribute to this
disparity with ignorance towards minority cultures and lack of interpreters (Winship, 1997).
There must be changes implemented to medical and nursing training as well (Winship, 1997).
Medical manufacturers have been delayed with responding to the needs of ethnic minorities such
as a providing a variety of shades for prosthetics (Winship, 1997). There is a need for strategically
targeted educational material that will educate Asian women and women of other ethnic
backgrounds about the risks of breast cancer or even developing any form of cancer (Winship,
1997). In prostate cancer, there is a very high incidence and mortality rate seen in black Americans
(Gilligan, 2005). There are major social

The Importance Of Reading
A Chinese philosopher once said, it is better to read 10,000 books, and then travel 10,000 miles.
Reading is a critical part of life, whether it is to read about the news that is happening around the
world, to read a park that is the sign by teachers and classes, or simply just reading because we like
to read. In many cases, kids who were willing to read comic books with a lot of pictures at a young
age, often liked reading. Even though I was not into reading at a young age, I still read some
picture books at a very young age, and it was heavily influenced by my parents and my elementary
schoolteachers. Learningto read became a crucial part of my life because reading helped me learn

Most of the stories like Rang Zao Tui Li or Frog In The Bottom of the Well really taught me to
not be selfish or to only look at the surface of issues. Even though I was still a small kid and did
not truly understand the principles and virtue behind each story, I was into reading for the first time.
The fun years of reading continued in kindergarten, where my teachers taught me a lot about the
importance reading and really built my confidence. During class time, I would no longer be
allowed to simply read picture books. During these 3 precious years, my kindergarten teachers
gave me books that contain more words. These books often contained deeper principles that
would help us transition to elementary school. While I still could not focus fully during reading
time, my teacher always helped me. She always played light background piano music to help me
calm down and focus. She also called class together and read to us all while we had simple
discussions that was not too serious. I would find reading a fun thing once again. As time
slowly progressed, I was able to focus on reading the materials provided by my teachers and not just
focus for several pages of the book only. Reading books no longer seemed like a tough task that I
was forced to accomplish. By reading stories such as Race between Turtle and Rabbit , I was able
to learn important values in life. For the first time, reading really benefitted me because I was no

Secret Trusts
Another argument against the principle of fraud theory is that it is unconstitutional because the
courts are out rightly undermining the WA 1837 thereby challenging the doctrine of parliamentary
sovereignty but this argument has since been countered with the maxim that equity will not allow
statute created for the prevention of fraud to be used to perpetrate fraud, that it was not the
intention of parliament to deny a person property that is rightly meant for them simply because of
formality requirements.

The remaining cases contain examples of secret trusts created for a multitude of reasons; for
example, there are cases where the testator was persuaded to create the secret trust by a deceitful
secret trustee, cases where the testator wanted to change his will at a very late stage and it
appeared easier to create a secret trust than to amend the will, cases where the secret trust arose
as a result of a poorly drafted will, cases where the secret trust was created in an apparent attempt
to avoid tax liability, cases where the secret trust was created as a result of legal advice and
cases where the secret trust arose out of the testator s indecisiveness. It is clear that the doctrine
was not developed to allow testators to provide secretly for illegitimate families, or indeed for
reasons involving the Mortmain Acts. The obvious conclusion to draw is that any failure to
perform a secret trust is a fraud, regardless of why the secret trust was created.
CONCLUSION
From a wide range of available case law it can be safety suggested that secret trusts are enforced on
the basis of fraud prevention but the courts remain concerned as to the possible uncertainty and
confusion that could be created by upholding a doctrine that completely undermines all forms of
formalities.
Conclusively, it is also submitted

The Great Leaps Westward
The reasoning behind the studies the RGA wanted to conduct was because they have reason to
suspect that there are problems that can potentially cause complications with the Great Leaps
Westward. Like a second shadow, the most noteworthy detail was the FYC having a wide
spectrum of influence over Ryanites in places such as the Cornhusker State. The results of this
are arguably stupendous: a vast majority of the Ryanites in these states believe that they should
instead collaborate with the FYC and their allies by offering aid to the FYC s endeavors in both
the Plaid Prohibition and Brotzmanskrieg. To make matters worse, the number of Ryanites
sympathetic to the FYC greatly outnumbers the number of Ryanites who are in support of the
Great Leaps Westward, as well as Catholic Brotzmanskrieg factions like the RGA or the
Underground. Indeed, these Ryanites who decided to align themselves with the FYC, also gave
the FYC the privilege to evangelize in their Catholic schools and Catholic high schools, provided
that the FYC offers them material goods and prestige and power. By doing so, these Ryanite
collaborators allowed their fellow Kameraden to commit apostasy and join the Protestant sect of
their choosing. Like the temptation of Eve by the serpent in the Garden of Eden, consuming the

Free Soda Pop And The Promise Of A Five Course Breakfast
If you would have told me twenty years ago that I would be where I am today I would have
probably laughed at you. Growing up I never wanted for nothing and I had everything a little girl
like me could possibly want. My parents ran a lake and a small local bait shop. For sixteen years
we ran this little lake and I had it all. I had over eighty acres to play on, five different
playgrounds with different equipment at every one of them, fishing, plenty of kids to play with
during the summer time, a golf cart that I learned how to drive, free soda pop and the promise
of a five course breakfast every weekend from some of our campers, I had a dad that I idolized, a

My Last Soccer Game
Passes were flying, brisk and beautifully, to their intended targets. The kicks, arched with
perfection, barely kissed the ground before their departure was rocketed off in direction of the
stark white goal posts. As I gazed around the field, I gathered this sense of calm from my team
mates. The scoreboard counted down towards start of the gameas the breeze whispered to me a
silent farewell. But the breeze wasn t my concern at this point; we were about to playRichland

Coach called everyone over to the gleaming metal benches located on the Richland center Track that
surrounds the football field. In this instance however, it also doubled as the soccer ... Show more

Richland center raced towards our goal at lightning pace down the left sideline. This is when
instinct kicked in, and I assumed center stage along with the streaking orange RC player.
The world in my eyes had changed. Nothing mattered more to me at this moment then shutting
down that player. I had done this over a hundred times. I was on them in a flash, but that split
second was all it took. I felt a pop. The ball was out of bounds and I was on the ground. But why
was I on the ground? This had never happened before. The Richland center player capitalized on
my lapse in concentration and restarted the play before I could think any longer on the matter.
And that s when I knew something was wrong. Everything sort of stopped; all noise became
absolutely pin drop silent. I couldn t even feel the sting of the cold breeze. The only thing that
mattered was stopping them from scoring. We had worked to hard for me to give up. I kicked
the ball out of bounds once again. The world was sort of coming back at this point. And all I
could hear was people yelling at me to sit down. Why would I want to sit down? They were
going to score; I couldn t let them do that. The team shouldn t be asking me to do anything of the

Theme Of When The First Slave Was Brought To The Cape By...
Shabbir Banoobhai s when the first slave was brought to the cape is an excellent form of protest
poetry that engages with historical contexts with the use of language. Gabeba Baderoon s quote
epitomizes this concept of protest poetry evident in the poem and the ideas associated with it. The
quote describes poetryas being connected to some of the most critical issues of our time, issues
that cannot be addressed without poetry as they have become unspeakable. Baderoon further
describes poetry as being voice in a time where silence is enforced and explains that in this time
of enforced silence, poets have become the voice and link between things that have happened that
are hidden or unspoken of and the rest of society. With the use of a close analysis I will discuss
how and why Shabbir Banoobhai s poem affects me as well as the use of language in the poem in...

According to South African History Online, Sheikh Yusuf was a prominent figure amongst the first
slaves brought to the Cape in the 1600s. He was also the person responsible for bringing Islam to
South Africa. As a result, I have developed a great amount of respect for him and other Muslims
who served as slaves, yet held onto their faith and brought the message of Islam with them. Had it
not been for Sheikh Yusuf, I may not have been able to practise my religion. In fact, had it not been
for Sheikh Yusuf, Islam may never have reached South Africa. This poem therefore affects me
because, through this poem and the thoughts of a Muslim slave it presents, I am provided with
insight into the lives of my ancestors which, ultimately, helps me gain a better understanding of my
heritage. In conjunction to my Islamic heritage is my heritage as a Capetonian, a theme discussed

Commentary on Lorna Sage, Bad Blood (2000) Essay
Commentary on Lorna Sage, Bad Blood (2000)
This passage revolves around a young girl s life, how it has changed and what it has become. It
is ironically, how a friendship has evolved into something that the two girls who are exposed in
this passage have never thought it would become. Sage introduces us to what we can conclude to
be herself in the first paragraph of this passage, whilst introducing us to her dear friend (or shall we
say greatest enemy?) in the second paragraph.
The relationship between Gail and the narrator is one of typical young girl s relationships with
another girl. Sage develops the relationship between these two young girls from two very
contradicting ways; Hate to Love. As the narrator mentions; ... Show more content on

If this was read about a guy and a girl, the reader would quite quickly come to the conclusion of a
special kind of relationship being introduced, but this one friendship isn t like this. This friendship is
consistent of the truth and of the honestly and loyalty towards the other. That is what the holding
hands painfully can be referring to.
The girls do not want to let go of this friendship, they ve been through a lot and they are not willing
to let something come in and take that away from them...but, also, does that imply on anything?
...days of our adolescent intimacy...
In which point of view can we take this quote? Doesn t this usually imply on a strong
relationship between two people? One that consists of love, warmth and of for sure intimacy ?
You can t go around now and hear a girl saying that she has had days of adolescent intimacy with
another girl without thinking that something isn t right...right? And, adolescences is a period of
time when two people should come together and figure out the feelings they have towards each
other...to figure out why it is really classified as intimate and not something different, something
filled with a little bit less of love. The word hell , what does that imply to? Pain? Ache? Struggle?

Equifax Data Breach
An analysis of the Equifax and Yahoo data breach
Introduction
A recent increase in large scale data breaches has exposed a multitude of cybersecurity
vulnerabilities that pose a definite risk to consumers (Lorio, 2017). In some cases, a data breach
can distress an establishment so much that other organizations experience a backlash from the
repercussions (Kosseff, 2011). The Equifax data breach of 2017 is a perfect example of this kind
of event as it caused an overwhelming economic repercussion that affected other major corporations
and more than 143 million credit card customers worldwide (Janakiraman, Lin, Rishika, 2018).
The consumer records appropriated in the Equifax data breach represent information from credit
card accounts that includes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The findings described in a report prepared by the Office of Senator Elizabeth Warren list several
reasons for the Equifax data breach. The report states that Equifax had a defective cybersecurity
system in place to mitigate data security (Franke Ruta, 2018). This included deficient patch
management practices, inadequate end point email monitoring, a weak network segmentation
structure, insubstantial credentialing procedures, and fragile logging methods (Franke Ruta, 2018).
The warning came in an attack on the Apaches Struts application software used to protect
consumer data in the Equifax cybersecurity systems on May 13, 2017 (Franke Ruta, 2018).
However, Equifax did not notice signs of the malicious activity until July 29, 2017 (Franke Ruta,
2018). Officials at Equifax emailed staff members asking them to repair the weakness in the
system, yet they did not follow up on the request and confirm the repairs (Franke Ruta, 2018).
Because the company failed to patch the Apache Struts vulnerability, command injection attacks
occurred that allowed an unauthorized hacker to gain privileged access to an Equifax web server

Analysis of Cyrano de Bergerac as a Romantic Work Essay
Analysis of Cyrano de Bergerac as a Romantic Work
Appeal to emotions, individualism, and intellectual achievement were three important elements of
Romanticism. This essay will explore the degree to which Cyrano de Bergerac exemplifies these
elements of Romanticism.
First and foremost is the appeal to emotions. All of the other facets of romanticism can be related to
the emotional appeal in Cyrano de Bergerac. Because strong emotional appeal is perhaps the most
important method used by the author to create identity with the reader, especially in romantic
works, the actions which elicit the emotional responses must, then, show a great deal about the
character. The character s motives and philosophies can be determined... Show more content on

The reader feels strongly for Cyrano to go for it! and is proud and respectful toward him because of
his magnelephant actions.
Cyrano s actions and the resulting emotional response from the reader, then, portray him as an
individual. During this age of romanticism, this was considered to be the chic thing to do. Here we
have the feeling of the fashionability of Cyrano s actions. He is a moral leader which the people
look up to.
As the play progresses, we are shown various incidents in the play which elicit emotional
responses from the reader: the longing Cyrano has for Roxane; his belief that he can never have
her because of his appearance; a comical intervention as Christian gets a nose up on Cyrano;
Cyrano and Christian working together to court Roxane; the author of the letters to Roxane being
unknown to her; the passionate speech which Cyrano delivers to Roxane from behind the shrub;
the existence of the cadets in such grim conditions; the death of Christian; the final resolution of
Cyrano s love for Roxane and his death.
These emotions are what define the play and make it great.
A second characteristic of romanticism is individualism. Throughout the play, it is regarded as
noble in spirit to be individualistic, and Cyrano demonstrates to this effect repeatedly. His white
plumes of freedom are perhaps the most vivid example of this independent spirit. He openly and
willingly defies the standards set forth by traditional culture in

Percy s Essay A River Pilot Looks At The Mississippi
Walker Percy s The Loss of a Creature details his idea of what he calls the preformed complex:
biases that people form as a result of experiences created by experts. Experiences such as a tour
of the Grand Canyon, reading a sonnet in a college poetry class, or the dissection of a dogfish in
biology class are all packaged and shaped by experts, according to Percy. Experts do this for
sightseers so that they can better understand experiences the way experts want them to. In Mark
Twain s essay A River Pilot Looks at the Mississippi he examines the perception of the
Mississippi from the perspective of the passengers of the steamboat and the pilots of them. Percy s
experts and sightseers seem to be very similar to Twain s pilots and passengers... Show more content

According to Percy, sightseers aim to compare real life experiences with other s experiences that
have influenced their preformed complex. Percy claims that when a sightseer says Why it is
every bit as beautiful as a picture postcard! He feels he has not been cheated (Percy, 47). The
sightseers aim to receive some sort of confirmation that they were not cheated by the experience.
The pilots on the river have a preformed complex about what the significance of each element of
the river should be which causes them to lose sight of the beauty the elements hold. River pilots
could feel cheated by the river if it did not provide any indication of what the conditions were as
then the river did not fulfill its duty to the river pilots. The nature of this relationship is very
transactional for both the pilots and the sightseers: they look for it to be worth some sort of
currency and in their case the currency is time. The time they give to the experience should be well
used for somethings that is up to their expectations. These expectations differ between the pilot and
sightseer as the pilot expects information whereas the sightseer expects a comparison. This
relationship is key to both parties understanding and interpretation of the

The Russian Orthodox Church In The 19th Century
The Russian Orthodox Church has a very dark unspoken past. The Russian Orthodox Church
changed many policies over the years leading to many casualties. The Russian Church to many
people was a sign of fear and change they were uncomfortable with.
The Russian Church arose after Christianity was introduced in the 9th century. Christianity was
introduced in Kievan Rus, an East Slavic State, and was only accepted after the prince of Kiev was
baptized. In the 17th century the church was known to be autocephalous after the bishops decided
to elect their own patriarch. One of the chosen patriarchs, Nikon, managed to get involved in a very
violent conflict with the Russian Tsar Alexis. The origin of the church led to all the bloodshed
found in the history of this church.

Vladimir Lenin took control with the communists and placed many more restrictions on the church.
The church was very weak during this period and many people believed it would be the last of the
church.
The church was very weak under Tikhon so it was no surprise when the church was supported by
the Soviet government to secede from Tikhon s church. The Patriarch was outraged with the people
but he was too weak to regain the church. After the church seceded Patriarch Tikhon remonstrated:
Think what you are doing you madmen! Stop your bloody outrages! Your acts are not merely
cruel, they are the works of Satan, for which you will burn in hell fire in the life hereafter and will

Reflection About The TazпїЅ Prayer
At the TaizГ© prayer, the place with the altar and candles was inviting; first the silence for about
10 minutes, then the music played, followed by long pauses for praying and reading the scriptures
together. The prayer around the Jesus cross statue in the center was about to begin when a person
placed the cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their
burdens. After about ten minutes, the prayeraround the cross continued, but this time the cross
statue was moved to a table. People freely approached the cross statue at the table and placed
their heads on it or kissed the cross. After a few more prayers were said aloud, then the altogether
final prayer followed by a song was the end of the prayer. From this opportunity of praying in a
group, I learned about the gifts and challenges of prayer while reflecting in silence and listening to
the meditative music.
The TaizГ© prayer is an opportunity to reflect on your day or your life and pray with others
together. This was my first time in a TaizГ© prayer, I have never heard about it before this class.
The prayer is centered on a worship group that between silence, songs, prayers, and bible readings,
people stand up to acknowledge the cross statue in the center by kneeling in front or kissing the
statue. You are not alone, you spend the hour with people of different churches or religious beliefs
either in silence, singing, praying and worshipping.
During the prayer, I learned that the peace

Essay on causes of french revoultionary war
The causes of the French Revolution, the uprising which brought the regime of King Louis XVI
to an end, were manifold. France in 1789 was one of the richest and most powerful nations in
Europe; only in Great Britain and the Netherlands did the common people have more freedom and
less chance of arbitrary punishment. Nevertheless, the ancien rГ©gime was brought down, partly
by its own rigidity in the face of a changing world, partly by the ambitions of a rising bourgeoisie,
alliedwith aggrieved peasantsand wage earners and with individuals of all classes who were

The proletariat and the non bourgeois strata of the middle class had either not yet evolved interests
which were different from those of the bourgeoisie or they did not yet constitute independent
classes or class divisions. Therefore, where they opposed the bourgeoisie, as they did in France in
1793 and 1794, [that is to say, during the Reign of Terror] they fought only for the attainment of the
aims of the bourgeoisie, albeit in a non bourgeois manner. The entire French terrorism was just a
plebeian way of dealing with the enemies of the bourgeoisie: absolutism, feudalism and

Debt
Since 1614, the French monarchy had operated without resort to a legislature. Kings had managed
their fiscal affairs by increasing the burden of the ancient and unequal system of taxes, by
borrowing money, and sometimes by selling noble titles and other privileges; however, because
noble titles exempted the holder from future taxes, the purchasers of titles were effectively buying
an annuity.
This led to the long running fiscal crisis of the French government. On the eve of the revolution,
France was deeply indebted, so deeply as to be effectively bankrupt. Extravagant expenditures by
Louis XIV on luxuries such as Versailles were compounded by heavy expenditures on the Seven

THE INTRODUCTION OF THE RADAR TECHNOLGY
The outcome of the First World War (28th July 1914 11th November 1918), also known as the war
to end all wars (Wells, 1961), was not enough to end all problems that caused it, therefore there was
a call for a Second World War (1st of September 1939 2nd of September 1945). This war(World
War 2) between the Allies and Axial power block had a very important role in the impact of
technology during this period. As tension grew between opposing forces, so did its technological

The Battle of France is over, the Battle of Britain is about to begin (Churchill 1940). Following
Hitler s threat, the RAF was ordered by Winston Churchill (British Army Officer) to prepare for
war. This paper reviews the contribution of radar technology towards the victory of the Royal
Air Force (RAF) over the Germans during the Battle of Britain (10th of July 1940 31st of
October 1940), as this is a topic that has begun to gain attention from contemporary researchers,
but for which little factual evidence exists. Much of the research relating to this topic leans
towards the idea that the RAF soldiers were victorious due to the advantage of fighting on home
turf and the diversity of their pilots, which is inadequate in a full examination of the war
conditions. More importantly, two major factors that motivate the research undertaken in this
paper, is the fact that the Battle of Britain was the first major campaign fought entirely by air
forces, and the RAF s victory marked the first defeat of Hitler s military force. Given the
importance of this battle and the introduction of RADAR technology during the period, one might
wonder if the RADAR technology led the Royal Air Force

Real Courage In To Kill A Mockingbird
Real courage is not abundant in the city of Maycomb, even though the people ostensibly believe
so. They believe that having courage is defined as aspiring to become strong or to become a
warrior. The author, however, believes in a different kind of courage that these people do not have.
In To Kill a Mockingbird, the author, Harper Lee defines couragenot as being a hero or a warrior,
but as regular people. What makes these regular people courageous is not their physical bravery, but
their mental bravery. The most prominent examples of courage are Atticus defending Tom, Mrs.
Dubose giving up her morphine addiction, and the jury member who believed that Tom was
innocent.

which she was addicted to morphine. She said she was going to leave this world beholden to
nothing and nobody. She just wanted to live the rest of her life detached from her addiction, but
this made her seem like the furious old lady she was. Her situation is comparable to giving up
smoking in today s world, which, as it is known, proves to be a difficult task to even the utmost
willful. To add to that, according to modern statistics, there is a lower chance of giving up
smoking as people get older. People who are addicted but give up their addiction dwell on the
idea that they will never be happy again because they thought that their addiction was what made
them happy. This adds to proving her courage, especially because the effect of morphine is much
greater (mostly due to some chemical reactions from morphine in the brain). To have the bravery
and the willpower to give up the drug is what makes Mrs. Dubose a prime example of

the relationship between sin, salvation history, and the...
Theology essay What is the relationship among sin, salvation history, and the church? (Be sure to
explain the significance of man having been made in the image and likeness of God, the role of
Divine revelation, and the importance of God s covenants with his people.) The relationship among
sin, salvation history, and the church can be answered by first referring to the Protoevangelium, or
the first gospel. This is when Godsaid, I will make you enemies of each other; you and the woman,
your offspring and her offspring. It will crush your head and you will strike its heel (Gen 3:15).
To back track before the first gospel, on must know that in the creation of man God mercifully
created all people with a spiritual sense. The spiritual... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Ten Commandments are a set of laws given to us by God to fulfill His word. A couple
hundred years later on God fulfilled the great nation/ name promise through another righteous man
named David. David became a king chosen by the prophet Samuel and by God himself. Because
David came from the line of Abram this made his name great. Jumping far ahead to the end of
salvation history with the birth of Jesus Christ we see that God fulfills the promise of

Lenore Alexander Narrative
Lenore Alexander. The name still to this day that name sends a dejected feeling straight through
my body with unrelenting force. I have never experienced pain like the pain that was felt on
February 11, 2014. This was the day that my Nana was taken all too soon from this world. Taken
from me. But first I shall start at the beginning. Lenore Van Natta was the most giving individual
you could ever find. She gave so much to everyone and never expected anything in return. Her
doors were always open to anyone in need and as soon as you walked in you would be greeted with
open arms and a smile every time. She practically raised me after my mom went back to work and
she made everything fun. She taught me my colors in one day using M Ms.... Show more content on

She told stories that began to have new meaning when she told them for the last time. They felt
deeper and drive themselves further into my heart where they still reside. Nana then went on to
explain how she was sick of fighting and her one wish was for us to just let her go peacefully. At
the time I was so angered by her selfishness. How could she give up when my aunt had another
baby on the way. A baby that would never know her grandmother. A baby who would never know
the warmth of her hugs. I begged her to stay. I cried at her side begging her to stay so we could
make more memories like the ones that she had just told. She refused and told me to stay strong
with a smile that I took the wrong way. I was so angry at her. How could she abandon her family?
How could she be so greedy to do this? I told her I loved her and walked out of the room in a rage
and when I got to the hallway I collapsed in an immense rush of emotions. This competes for the
lowest part of my life. I sobbed on the floor and didn t care who saw me or when a kind nurse tried
to help me up. I was frozen in anguish as my mind tried to figure out what was happening. If I had

The Decline Of The Nuclear Family
Assignment 5: The Decline of the Nuclear Family In college classes, the traditional nuclear family
is defined as a family consisting of one or both parents and their dependent children in a single
family unit without any extended relatives (Kendall, 2013). Some sociological perspectives suggest
that any departure from what is known as the traditional, or nuclear, familyindicates a social
problem, while others maintain that the definition of family has simply evolved beyond the nuclear
family. Some even suggest that the social constructs of marriage and the traditional nuclear family
actually undermine the notion of community ties by discouraging any kind of extended family
inclusion (Gerstel, 2011). According to Kendall, the concept of the traditional family is rooted in
kinship, which encompasses anyone with ancestral or legal ties to the individual (2013).
Interestingly, this definition of the traditional family also includes extended family who live both in
and out of the home. However, the concept of the nuclear family does not include this extended
family. Prior to industrialization, families relied on this family for survival in many ways. Extended
family members have reduced familial strain by assisting with harvesting, child care, and other
items essential to survival. While industrialization reduced the need for reliance on extended family
members in some nations, others continue to rely and thrive on a bigger support system (Kendall,
2013). With rising

What Is The Weakness Of A Hotel Industry
3. SWOT ANALYSIS
3.1 Strengths
The first step to a SWOT analysis of hotel industry in India will be identifying its strengths. There
are more than 1000 classified hotels with a room availability of around 97,000 rooms which can
easily cope with the demand of tourists. Furthermore, there are also a number of international
names in the market which meet the needs of international tourists on their visit to India. In
addition, there are many tourist attractions and the cost of labor is low in comparison with the rest
of the world, thus, providing better margins for hotel owners and higher growth potential in the
industry (Mohammad Arabzad an, 2012).
3.2 Weaknesses
Next in line is assessing the weaknesses. One major restraint to the hotel industry of India is the
cost of land, which is as high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The commercials from Fallon Minneapolis highlight the brand s significant business travel
amenities and services, like free high speed internet access and priority club rewards, through
the eyes of three typical American co workers at differing levels of experience: Ted, Marcus and

of the three co workers in everyday business travel circumstances. In one ad, the two older
business Guys , Ted and Marcus, are in the hot tub when Zack for his lack of priority club

The Drought In California s Water System
Right now there is a drought in California and it is due to the water usage. Bach in the gold rush
due to miners mining for gold, the rivers became polluted and freshwater became limited. After
the earthquake in San Francisco that cause a big fire, San Francisco was in dire need of water so
they made a plan to built a dam in Hetch Hetchy. Many people argue as to whether to build the
dam and in the end the dam was built and that has shape Californias water system hugely. The use
of water in California now has not been in the best interest of the state because The amount of
water use for agriculture is disportional, laws are making us use more water than needed and the
Indians and environment are being harm.

Indians for example are being poorer. In 1853 E.A. Stevenson states, The Indians in this portions
of the State are wretchedly poor, having no horses, cattle or other property. They formerly
survived on game, fish, acorns, etc. but it is now impossible for them to make a living by
hunting or fishing (Doc 2). This is due to miners turning the stream to mines to look for gold
and they can do that because of the law of prior appropriations And after being use up, the stream
become muddy causing fish to seek for new houses which will also be destroyed due to more
miners using the streams carelessly. This causes Indians, animals and habitats to die. It is stated
by Jerry Stanley in 1997, The gold rush meant death by starvation for thousands of Native
Californians, and death from disease for thousands more (Doc 7). This shows the consequence
made by the miners. They use the water for their gold, polluting the rivers with mercury and to
the Indians that drink the water they are die and if they don t they will sooner ar later die of
dehydrations. It also stated by Jerry Stanley that due the tree being cut downs, animals left which
were a food source for Indians. The Indians are not the only one who were being harm. The
environment is being harm. They cut down tree which are habitats for animals and the animals
have to leave home and find a new one buts people will continue cutting trees and polluting water,
and taking their home away again and the animals will sooner or later die out This create a cycle
that will end with animals becoming endangered or extinct so we should start changing our water

The Importance Of Budget Cuts
With so many budget cuts made in the united states due to the most recent recession we have all
expereienced over the past years, Some departmens which are considered crucial such as educiation
hav recieved the most extreme, budget cuts. Which has lead to teacher strikes, and cut backs just to

anything beyond education deserves an increased spending. However with the recidivismrates

(Sterbenz. 2014) there are stark differences in how the prison system is ran. Norway s criminal

A Freelance Writer At Three Online Companies
Currently I am a contracted freelance writer at three online companies. I just began being paid
for writing this year. I joined one company in January, one in February, the third in March. They
are all considered content farms . The first two companies work relatively the same, the third is a
bit different in that it it pays in lifetime royalties. I have only wrote five articles for the third
company. They have the most astringent requirements and their articles are all 500 words, in third
person, and require writers to provide sources in the footnotes. The first two companies have you
write articles for your application in order to rate your quality. The first company I contracted with
recently upgraded my writingand I was not aware of it for a while. This action allows me a larger
pool of jobs to choose from.
The first two companies both have pools of categorized jobs a writer may choose from. You
may choose any job at your rating or lower. Unfortunately there s been great upheaval in my
personal life this year and it has greatly affected my on time stats. Thereby making my writer s
rating lower than what I am capable of. I have wrote all my life. Poems, lists, ideas, everything
really. I was a very nervous child and I stuttered and tripped over my tongue constantly however
put a pen in my hand and I can communicate smoothly, eloquently, and get my point across in a
clean concise manner. The ironic part is that I was born left handed with a step

  • 2. Tuberculosis Is A Disease Caused By The Bacteria Tubercle... Introduction: Tuberculosis is a disease caused by the bacteria tubercle bacilli (NSW Health 2014). It is one of mankind s oldest infections and has plagued humans throughout recorded and archaeological history (Encyclopaedia Britannica 2014). Tuberculosis comes in an infectious and disease form. The infectious form is the result of contraction of TB bacteria that remains dormant and is neither symptomatic nor contagious. The disease form of TB is caused by active TB bacteria and results in the contagious and fatal tuberculosis disease. History of Tuberculosis Tubercle bacilli emerged as a pathogen from East Africa, and as people migrated so did the disease. Tuberculosis lesions contain acid fast bacilli which have been found in Egyptian and Peruvian mummies (Schlossberg page 97). From these findings, historians and microbiologists have concluded that mycobacterium is millions of years old. Physiology of mycobacterium: Tubercle bacilli is a type of mycobacterium. Its prototrophic, metabolically flexible membrane (US National Library of Medicine 2008) enables it to metabolize and reproduce without specific substances, increasing its speed of replication and infection. The tubercle bacilli s rod shape enables it to withstand a combination of selective pressures (Kerseik K 2013), including nutrient access and predation. Nutrient absorption is maximised by the cell s ability to match increases in cell size by increasing its cell length. This maintains its high surface ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Classical Music Vs. Contemporary Music By universal, they mean that music exists in every culture. However, the meanings and emotions attached to the music are interpreted differently depending on the listener. People will associate different meanings and feelings with a musical performance based on their cultural upbringing and life experience. When we categorize music, we use terms such as classical, folk or popular to distinguish different types of music. However, using labels is problematic because there can be stereotyping associated with the terms. For example, there is a notion that classical music is better than folk and popular music because it suggests a connection with European classical music. Folk music is considered lower in value, and popular music has the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each culture has its own customs and patterns, but I don t think that there is one that should be considered normative over others. I grew up in a Vietnamese household, so some of my family s customs are different from the average American family s customs. I consider both cultures to be a part of my life, but neither takes precedence over the other. The four basic components of music are timbre, pitch, rhythm and dynamics. Out of the four, timbre is most helpful in identifying world music tradition. Each culture has unique media in its music, and the characteristic timbre of each medium allows us to identify the media used. Examples of aerophones include the saxophone, which is a reed instrument, the European flute, a type of flute, and the brass trumpet, a type of trumpet. The two basic types of chordophones are lutes and zithers. An example of a lute is a guitar, and examples of zithers are the piano and the Japanese koto. Idiophones are instruments that produce sound when they are plucked, struck, or shaken. Examples of idiophones include lamellophones (plucked), gongs (struck) and rattles (shaken). Membranophones are categorized by their shape, and examples are Goblet drums, kazoos, and the bongo. A pitch is the frequency level of a tone, while a tuning system is a set of commonly used pitches in a musical tradition. A scale is less encompassing than a tuning system; it is the set of pitches used in a performance. Multiple melodic lines that express ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Cold Equations And Tom Godwin s Of Mice And Men Even out in space like in Tom Godwin s Cold Equations, problems can present themselves, and characters soon figure out something significant. They open their eyes, in a way, and change because of it. The theme that someone has to open their eyes to see the bigger picture is shown in Tom Godwin s The Cold Equations, Morley Callaghan s All the Years of Her Life, How Far She Went by Mary Hood, and John Steinbecks Of Mice And Men. Opening one s eyes to the bigger picture is shown in The Cold Equations by the teenage girl in the story. She was discovered on the EDS as a stowaway, and because of the specific amount of fuel that the ship is loaded with, any stowaway has to be jettisoned from the ship. She did not know this, and is devastated when she realizes what has to happen. In order to protect her granddaughter, the grandmother drowns the beloved dog. The story says, And she said again, It was him or you. I know that (415). This is saying that the grandmother knew that she was either going to lose her dog or her granddaughter, and that the girl was more important. This opens the girls eyes to the fact that her grandmother truly does love her and that any hatred between them is useless to think about. • 5. The Importance Of Blood Relations Towards Men This paper examines the Canadian Blood Service s (CBS) current one year deferral policy towards men who have sexual contact with other men (MSM). Homosexual or bisexual men can donate blood and blood products only after not having any form of sexual contact with other men for one year (Canadian Blood Services, 2016). This paper studies how this policy contributes to stigma against MSM. This paper also aims to address this social inequity by promoting an advocacy that focus on donors risky sexual behaviors than their sexual identities. Consequently, MSM deferral policy discriminates against a specific group of people from donating blood due to their sexual orientation as it prohibits those who are in general good health, thus, are fit to donate (Diaz, 2013). Gay males may also neglect HIV testing due to fear of stigmatization (O Bryne Watts, 2012), which further impairs their access to healthcare services and promotes health and social inequity. The residual risk for HIV is estimated at less than 1 in 8 million units at Canadian Blood Services (Goldman et. al, 2014). The risk is so low that it can only be estimated after all safeguard measures have been followed (Billick et. al, 2015). While the deferral policy puts stigma against MSM, it may have helped lessen the risk of BT contamination and helped promote safety among blood recipients through a precautionary approach. This paper aims to advocate for changes regarding the CBS one year policy deferral for MSM and CBS donor questionnaire. The CBS screening questions that identify sexual identity or orientation should be eliminated because they create stigma against MSM or females who have sexual contact with MSM. While HIV infection are more prevalent within the MSM community, they are not mutually exclusive to this population and exclusion questionnaires which identify a person s sexual orientation may be indefinite because of people s different ... • 6. Economic Development Of A Country s Economy Essay We often classify countries and areas in the world by how developed they are, but this is term is relative, depending on your measurement. There are many factors that count towards a country s economy that is difficult to quantify. The popular measurements for economic development are Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is the value of all the recognized goods and services produced in a country in a specific period of time usually a year, and Gross National Income (GNI), quantified by the summation of the GDP and the net income acquired overseas (Investopedia). There is GDP per capita which is the indicator of the personal income of the country (Chidakel and Herrero). If we go by these numbers we conclude Africa is underdeveloped because all the numbers are low compared to the known developed countries like Germany, Norway, Canada etc. In Ethiopia the annual GDP per capita is $505 in 2013 (Indicators), while Libya s annual GDP per capita is $11,964 in 2013 (Indicators) and the United States of America annual GDP per capita is $53,042 in 2013 (Indicators). Libya being one of countries in Africa that are above the average, when compared to the USA it is about 4 times poorer, Ethiopia is about 100 times poorer when compared to the USA, now this comparison does not tells much about the economy in the country, since goods in African countries do not have the same value in Europe or USA, we need to look at the purchasing power parity (PPP). They use their own experiences, influenced by the urban intellectual style (Barry, Black), of Halifax, Nova Scotia to explore the phenomena of various shared aspects of the human experience and allow that to reflect into their work. They also believe that at the core of the theatrical event is a unique and particular interaction between audience and performance. With each project, we re examine and re shape this relationship, creating a different spatial and metaphorical relationship between the audience and the stage (Barry, Black). It s is not about what is going on at a glance, because the play at face value can appear nonsensical, we must highlight the underlying themes of the play. It is a play about class structure, poverty, madness, morality and animal nature vs. societal nature. This will speak greatly to 2b s intellectually charged audience and will fit in nicely with the company s exploration of the human condition. My inspiration for the direction of this adaptation are the works of David Firth. He is a flash animator. He posts many of his pieces on YouTube and he is most commonly known as the guy who created the Salad Fingers cartoon. My main points of reference for inspiration is his series Sock, which are experimental shorts based off of dreams, and his Not Stanley shorts. I would recommend you watch Sock 5: Three Skins Without Men (particularly at 5:02, as it is very similar to a scene from Woyzeck). The reason I want you to see this video is because I want the play structured like an incoherent dream with clear themes. The guttural reaction are clear while the delivery is distorted. I think 2b has the resources to create a Woyzeck using multimedia. We can combine sound design, flash animation, and projection with performers. We also mix voice acting with physical acting. With flash animation we can use photographs to animate, and have real textures and faces with the movement sort of seeming unskilled and distorted. We don t need any physical sets, and minimal props. We create our settings with diagetic and non diagetic sound and projected animations. We would require a black box theatre, access to the right tech to facilitate the animated setting and various characters being animations, and a cast of 4 performers to act as both physical performers and provide faces and voices for the flash ... Having to deal with his growing opposition and the embarrassing defeats Tsar Nicholas II faced in World War I, the Tsar was left with no choice but to abdicate his throne and get replaced by the Provisional Government. The Provisional Government however failed to disengage from WWI or resolve the economic downfall that resulted from the collapse of the old order. Due to these failures the Provisional Government also broke down and were unable to bring Russiaback to the functioning democracy it once was. Unlike the Provisional Government which lacked support and authority, he made sure there were internal conflicts between the Bolsheviks, in turn creating a ruthless political party. Even though he had the leadership qualities that lead the Bolsheviks to victory, it should be remembered Lenin only returned to Russia after the February Revolution, therefore making the fall of the tsarist regime and the Provisional Government taking control prerequisites for the Bolsheviks rise to power in 1917. This is a preventative measure to decrease the amount of people in society who are smoking and prevent children from picking up this habit. Another health disparity is ethnic background. A study found that Asian women are referred for late treatment for a breast lump compared to Caucasian women (Winship, 1997). Part of this disparity is the disbelief that Asian women can/will develop breast cancer (Winship, 1997). Hospitals and medical professionals also contribute to this disparity with ignorance towards minority cultures and lack of interpreters (Winship, 1997). There must be changes implemented to medical and nursing training as well (Winship, 1997). Medical manufacturers have been delayed with responding to the needs of ethnic minorities such as a providing a variety of shades for prosthetics (Winship, 1997). The Great Leaps Westward The reasoning behind the studies the RGA wanted to conduct was because they have reason to suspect that there are problems that can potentially cause complications with the Great Leaps Westward. Like a second shadow, the most noteworthy detail was the FYC having a wide spectrum of influence over Ryanites in places such as the Cornhusker State. The results of this are arguably stupendous: a vast majority of the Ryanites in these states believe that they should instead collaborate with the FYC and their allies by offering aid to the FYC s endeavors in both the Plaid Prohibition and Brotzmanskrieg. To make matters worse, the number of Ryanites sympathetic to the FYC greatly outnumbers the number of Ryanites who are in support of the Great Leaps Westward, as well as Catholic Brotzmanskrieg factions like the RGA or the Underground. Indeed, these Ryanites who decided to align themselves with the FYC, also gave the FYC the privilege to evangelize in their Catholic schools and Catholic high schools, provided that the FYC offers them material goods and prestige and power. By doing so, these Ryanite collaborators allowed their fellow Kameraden to commit apostasy and join the Protestant sect of their choosing. The kicks, arched with perfection, barely kissed the ground before their departure was rocketed off in direction of the stark white goal posts. But the breeze wasn t my concern at this point; we were about to playRichland center and I had a good feeling that today was going to be one to remember. The ball was out of bounds and I was on the ground. But why was I on the ground? This had never happened before. The Richland center player capitalized on my lapse in concentration and restarted the play before I could think any longer on the matter. And that s when I knew something was wrong. Everything sort of stopped; all noise became absolutely pin drop silent. I couldn t even feel the sting of the cold breeze. The only thing that mattered was stopping them from scoring. We had worked to hard for me to give up. I kicked the ball out of bounds once again. The world was sort of coming back at this point. And all I could hear was people yelling at me to sit down. Shabbir Banoobhai s when the first slave was brought to the cape is an excellent form of protest poetry that engages with historical contexts with the use of language. Gabeba Baderoon s quote epitomizes this concept of protest poetry evident in the poem and the ideas associated with it. The quote describes poetryas being connected to some of the most critical issues of our time, issues that cannot be addressed without poetry as they have become unspeakable. Baderoon further describes poetry as being voice in a time where silence is enforced and explains that in this time of enforced silence, poets have become the voice and link between things that have happened that are hidden or unspoken of and the rest of society. It is ironically, how a friendship has evolved into something that the two girls who are exposed in this passage have never thought it would become. Sage introduces us to what we can conclude to be herself in the first paragraph of this passage, whilst introducing us to her dear friend (or shall we say greatest enemy?) in the second paragraph. The Equifax data breach of 2017 is a perfect example of this kind of event as it caused an overwhelming economic repercussion that affected other major corporations and more than 143 million credit card customers worldwide (Janakiraman, Lin, Rishika, 2018). The findings described in a report prepared by the Office of Senator Elizabeth Warren list several reasons for the Equifax data breach. Analysis of Cyrano de Bergerac as a Romantic Work Essay Analysis of Cyrano de Bergerac as a Romantic Work Appeal to emotions, individualism, and intellectual achievement were three important elements of Romanticism. This essay will explore the degree to which Cyrano de Bergerac exemplifies these elements of Romanticism. First and foremost is the appeal to emotions. All of the other facets of romanticism can be related to the emotional appeal in Cyrano de Bergerac. Because strong emotional appeal is perhaps the most important method used by the author to create identity with the reader, especially in romantic works, the actions which elicit the emotional responses must, then, show a great deal about the character. The reader feels strongly for Cyrano to go for it! and is proud and respectful toward him because of his magnelephant actions. Cyrano s actions and the resulting emotional response from the reader, then, portray him as an individual. During this age of romanticism, this was considered to be the chic thing to do. Here we have the feeling of the fashionability of Cyrano s actions. He is a moral leader which the people look up to. As the play progresses, we are shown various incidents in the play which elicit emotional responses from the reader: the longing Cyrano has for Roxane; his belief that he can never have her because of his appearance; a comical intervention as Christian gets a nose up on Cyrano; Cyrano and Christian working together to court Roxane; the author of the letters to Roxane being unknown to her; the passionate speech which Cyrano delivers to Roxane from behind the shrub; the existence of the cadets in such grim conditions; the death of Christian; the final resolution of Cyrano s love for Roxane and his death. These emotions are what define the play and make it great. A second characteristic of romanticism is individualism. Throughout the play, it is regarded as noble in spirit to be individualistic, and Cyrano demonstrates to this effect repeatedly. His white plumes of freedom are perhaps the most vivid example of this independent spirit. He openly and willingly defies the standards set forth by traditional culture in ... Experts do this for sightseers so that they can better understand experiences the way experts want them to. According to Percy, sightseers aim to compare real life experiences with other s experiences that have influenced their preformed complex. Percy claims that when a sightseer says Why it is every bit as beautiful as a picture postcard! He feels he has not been cheated (Percy, 47). The sightseers aim to receive some sort of confirmation that they were not cheated by the experience. The pilots on the river have a preformed complex about what the significance of each element of the river should be which causes them to lose sight of the beauty the elements hold. River pilots could feel cheated by the river if it did not provide any indication of what the conditions were as then the river did not fulfill its duty to the river pilots. The nature of this relationship is very transactional for both the pilots and the sightseers: they look for it to be worth some sort of currency and in their case the currency is time. The time they give to the experience should be well used for somethings that is up to their expectations. Kings had managed their fiscal affairs by increasing the burden of the ancient and unequal system of taxes, by borrowing money, and sometimes by selling noble titles and other privileges; however, because noble titles exempted the holder from future taxes, the purchasers of titles were effectively buying an annuity. Much of the research relating to this topic leans towards the idea that the RAF soldiers were victorious due to the advantage of fighting on home turf and the diversity of their pilots, which is inadequate in a full examination of the war conditions. She just wanted to live the rest of her life detached from her addiction, but this made her seem like the furious old lady she was. Her situation is comparable to giving up smoking in today s world, which, as it is known, proves to be a difficult task to even the utmost willful. To add to that, according to modern statistics, there is a lower chance of giving up smoking as people get older. People who are addicted but give up their addiction dwell on the idea that they will never be happy again because they thought that their addiction was what made them happy. This adds to proving her courage, especially because the effect of morphine is much greater (mostly due to some chemical reactions from morphine in the brain). (Be sure to explain the significance of man having been made in the image and likeness of God, the role of Divine revelation, and the importance of God s covenants with his people.) The relationship among sin, salvation history, and the church can be answered by first referring to the Protoevangelium, or the first gospel. This is when Godsaid, I will make you enemies of each other; you and the woman, your offspring and her offspring. It will crush your head and you will strike its heel (Gen 3:15). To back track before the first gospel, on must know that in the creation of man God mercifully created all people with a spiritual sense. The spiritual... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 41. Lenore Alexander Narrative Lenore Alexander. The name still to this day that name sends a dejected feeling straight through my body with unrelenting force. I have never experienced pain like the pain that was felt on February 11, 2014. This was the day that my Nana was taken all too soon from this world. Taken from me. But first I shall start at the beginning. Lenore Van Natta was the most giving individual you could ever find. She gave so much to everyone and never expected anything in return. Her doors were always open to anyone in need and as soon as you walked in you would be greeted with open arms and a smile every time. She practically raised me after my mom went back to work and she made everything fun. She taught me my colors in one day using M Ms.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She told stories that began to have new meaning when she told them for the last time. They felt deeper and drive themselves further into my heart where they still reside. Nana then went on to explain how she was sick of fighting and her one wish was for us to just let her go peacefully. At the time I was so angered by her selfishness. How could she give up when my aunt had another baby on the way. A baby that would never know her grandmother. A baby who would never know the warmth of her hugs. I begged her to stay. I cried at her side begging her to stay so we could make more memories like the ones that she had just told. She refused and told me to stay strong with a smile that I took the wrong way. I was so angry at her. How could she abandon her family? How could she be so greedy to do this? I told her I loved her and walked out of the room in a rage and when I got to the hallway I collapsed in an immense rush of emotions. This competes for the lowest part of my life. I sobbed on the floor and didn t care who saw me or when a kind nurse tried to help me up. I was frozen in anguish as my mind tried to figure out what was happening. If I had known ... • 43. The Decline Of The Nuclear Family Assignment 5: The Decline of the Nuclear Family In college classes, the traditional nuclear family is defined as a family consisting of one or both parents and their dependent children in a single family unit without any extended relatives (Kendall, 2013). Some sociological perspectives suggest that any departure from what is known as the traditional, or nuclear, familyindicates a social problem, while others maintain that the definition of family has simply evolved beyond the nuclear family. Some even suggest that the social constructs of marriage and the traditional nuclear family actually undermine the notion of community ties by discouraging any kind of extended family inclusion (Gerstel, 2011). According to Kendall, the concept of the traditional family is rooted in kinship, which encompasses anyone with ancestral or legal ties to the individual (2013). Interestingly, this definition of the traditional family also includes extended family who live both in and out of the home. However, the concept of the nuclear family does not include this extended family. Prior to industrialization, families relied on this family for survival in many ways. Extended family members have reduced familial strain by assisting with harvesting, child care, and other items essential to survival. While industrialization reduced the need for reliance on extended family members in some nations, others continue to rely and thrive on a bigger support system (Kendall, 2013). With rising ...
