In this essay, we stand in the negation of the Resolution: Mass surveillance is not a justified method of
governmental intelligence gathering. We define the term surveillance , as the act of carefully watching
someone or something especially in order to prevent or detect a crime, as does Merriam Webster s
dictionary. We will have three main contentions. First: anti terrorism, second: cost effective, and third:
it does not affect people.
Contention One: Anti Terrorism. Mass surveillance prevents terrorism in many ways. First, Mass
surveillance is just watching over the entire communication within a population. The terrorists that lie
between innocent, normal people use the same communication as everyone does. If we just watch over
everyone, we can find/stop upcoming terrorist plots. Some people might argue that the majority of a
selected population is innocent, and they are, but there do exist terrorists that make up part of the
population. Mass surveillance is an excellent method as it captures all activity and monitors it, if there
is any unusual, suspects activity it will pop up. This is a method used by the NSA, which also uses
mass surveillance, and they have also been successful in deterring many terrorist plots, so there is
proof that mass surveillance is effective, and since National Security is mostly a national priority for
most countries, therefore mass surveillance is a justified method of governmental intelligence. Second,

The word kindly is particularly meaningful, for it instantly characterizes Death. This comes with

Last year, I failed two accounting courses which were 400 levels. I tried to retake one of the courses
because my dad was pressuring me so hard that I should be able to understand much better but I still
could not understand the concepts and I found it really hard to catch up with the class. Since this class
was a prerequisite class for my major, I was very frustrated. I was getting so much stress from my dad
and the course that I had to retake. However, several days before I had to take a midterm, I was
overwhelmed and I was not ready to take an exam. I decided to withdraw from a course because there
was no way that I could handle 400 level accounting courses. Since I failed two accounting courses
before, I got an academic probation due to low grades. My dad thought that I was still retaking one of
the accounting courses. When I told him that I withdrew from a course, he was very mad because I did
not discuss this issue with him. I did not know why I had to discuss with him while I was very stressed
out. It was a tough decision for me to withdraw from a course. I had to discuss with him about
changing my major since I was in my last year. Preparation Stage
The purpose of this stage is to help me use the information to prepare what can be my options if the
negotiation goes well or does not go well. Also, preparation stage also helps me to guess what the

As well about half the students did not take us seriously. So with those in mind we had to build up our
credibility. In the beginning of the year we had to start with factual pieces which we brought the
students peers to react to videos like the iPhone 6 plus bend test in which I was in charge of. We got

Symbols in The Alchemist Paulo Coleho uses the symbols of objects, words, and emotions to explore
the theme of The Alchemist. It surprised me, it takes somebody 4 hours to read The Alchemist,
