Social Media Dangers
Dangers of Social Media
Social media is very dangerous now a days. It can cause many problems because of the amount of
people that are connected on social media. There are many reasons that social media is dangerous
because of people who get on their and try to lure children. Parents need to make sure they pay
attention to what their children are doing online because it can potentially hurt them later on in life.
Although many people believe that social media is very helpful because it allows people to connect
together, it is clear that social media is very dangerous due to cyberbullying, affects on face to face
interaction, and private information being spread.
Cyberbullying is the use of electronic messaging to bully someone. Cyberbullying is reported as
an aggressive, intentional act distributed by an individual or group, using contact in an electronic
medium, continuously and relentlessly against someone who cannot stand up for himself or
herself easily. Cyberbullying is an extreme problem on social media. The reason it is is because it
is so easy to get connected with people and able to share information with everyone. People get
very offended by things that people put online and it can be taken to be known as cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying although can start as very simple it can turn into something very bad such as
committing suicide. Each year, 34,598 people die by suicide, an average of 94 completed suicides
every day. As these rates are rising, people need to

Role Of Helen In The Odyssey
Helen of Sparta s portrayals in many different accounts of mythology and history are extremely
dissimilar. Helen was said to be the daughter of Zeus and Leda (Queen of Sparta), and was the wife
of Menelaus, king of Sparta. Helen was abducted by Paris of Troy and when Menelaus came to
retrieve Helen, the Trojan warbegan. In The Odyssey, Helen is shown as living happily with
Menelausafter he brought her back from Sparta. She is portrayed as an intelligent person who
sees things for what they truly are, but is mostly reserved to wifely duties. In Trojan Women by
Euripides, Helen is shown as a person who was used by the gods as a reward for Paris with
nothing else in mind. However, she fights vehemently for her own innocence in the... Show more

At the beginning of the story, the gods are debating what to do with the Greeks after they
pillaged Troy, but more specifically, violated Athena s shrine. Athena asks for help and says to
Poseidon, I want to help the Trojans who were my enemies, and make the Greek army s
homecoming a bitter one. (Euripides 63). To which Poseidon replies, You re so fickle. Your
mind leaps here and there: now you hate, and now you love, and both in excess. (Euripides 65).
Even Poseidon admits to the fickleness of the goddess since her allies during the war were the
Greeks. This lends itself to show that Helen could be telling the truth about the goddesses having
an argument about the beauty of each other and Aphrodite forcing Helen to run away with Paris.
Helen also helps her argument by pointing out that the fight was preordained by the gods based
on the prophecy about Paris, and then blames Paris s mother and father for letting Paris live,
rather than slaying Paris and trying to stop the prophecy from coming true. Through the many
effective arguments, Helen shows that she did not ask to be carried away by Paris and that she
liked Menelaus. Menelaus seems very weak compared to Helen, especially since he seems to not
be able to make up his mind whether to kill her or not. In the end, Menelaus seems to decide on
letting her live, though he still tells

Anatomy Of Anorexia By Steven Levenkron
The book I chose for the critical book review is, Anatomy of Anorexia by Steven Levenkron. This
book concentrates on the importance of detecting early symptoms of anorexia nervosa. This book
is suitable for parents and friends of anorexia sufferers or others who would like to inform them of
this disorder. He states that it typically has to do with teenaged girls and how people who
experience this mental illnessneed serious help. This mental illness can even cause death, if not
treated on time. It mentions how girls who are obsessed over their weight and size try to lose even
more weight by doing extreme workout programs and severely restrict calories. He explains ways
to detect someone with the beginnings of anorexia. He mentions how... Show more content on

This analogy seems to really work for S. Levenkron. He is very proud of his record. He has taken
on nearly 300 patients, of whom 90% have recovered sufficiently from this illness and only one
of his patience took her life. However, parents should be quite thankful to have been notified by
an expert like Steven Levenkron who knows the development of the disease and how to find a
stop to it. When small children develop a sense of trust, and later a sense of intimacy or
closeness to another, and a sense of self or identity, they are not vulnerable to becoming creatures
of the culture in its most extreme form as exemplified by the media: magazines, movies, and so
on. But individuals who are seduced by popular trends allow these trends to define much of their
identity (20). In this quote it mentions how children at a young age develops trust in their
surroundings and closeness to others. In the process, they begin looking for their own identity.
Therefore, they wouldn t become defenseless to be like people in the media. They wouldn t get
sucked into wanting to be the same, and try to be different. Some of these traits, such as
perfectionist behavior, may disguise themselves as gifts to parents. They may see the child as
independent, not needing much support in a family overburdened by other problems. A successful
child who often does well in school and is socially outgoing, does not appear worrisome (21). In this

A Report On A Virtual Core Network
III. Proposed Applications
The NFV ISG lists various possible scenarios in which NFV may be used in the current network
infrastructure to help organizations reduce capital and operational expenditures and increase
revenue via VNF services. While in theory, every network element can be virtualized, the ISG has
identified specific devices based on feasibility in terms of cost and complexity of implementation.
Mobile Networks: Mobile networks today are dominated by proprietary hardware. Having physical
resource increases expenditure for the operators. Scaling of such resources may require
replacement of hardware. Implementing NFV means that the hardware resource pool can be
efficiently utilized based on demand. A virtualized mobile core network would also help minimize
the signaling traffic on the network by grouping certain network functions together [1]. This paper
will discuss more on a virtual Core network in section IV.
VNF as a Service (VNFaaS): Many Enterprises have an infrastructure network of their own. Such a
network puts added expenditure on enterprises to have a dedicated team of professionals to
maintain and service this network. Also having equipment on their premises increases capital costs
and operational costs such as energy. The ISG use cases [10] proposes to provide these enterprise
infrastructure equipment as a virtual service hosted at the operator end. From the enterprise
perspective it will be profitable for them to outsource this functionality and have

Sarbanes Oxley Act Of 2002
Sarbanes Oxley Act In reaction to a number of corporate and accounting scandals which included
Enron Congress passed The Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) (Sarbox) also known as the
Public Company Accounting Reform and Investor Protection Act and the Corporate and Auditing
Accountability and Responsibility Act was enacted July 30, 2002. The Sarbane Oxley Act is a US
federal law that created new and expanded laws regarding the requirements for all US public
companyboards, management, and accounting firms. The act has a number of provisions that
apply to privately owned companies. The Act addresses the responsibilities of a public
corporation s Board of Directors, adds criminal penalties for misconduct, and requires the SEC to
create regulations that define how public corporations are expected to comply with the law. The
SOX increases the penalties a company pays for fraudulent financial activity, and requires top
management to provide individual verification to certify the accuracy of financial information,
while also increasing the oversight role of a company s Board of Directors and the independence of
outside auditors.
The Major Elements of the Sarbane Oxley Act

The Dreamer And The Cruel Country
Different Writing Styles Create Different Artistic Conceptions We are reading every day:
newspapers, books, magazines. What make all those articles different from others? They may have
different topics, different genres, or different backgrounds according to different writing styles.
Even writing on the same theme, different writingstyles can create different artistic conceptions.
Diaz s essay The Dreamer , and Cofer s essay The Cruel Country are both talking about how their
moms perseverances influenced them on their literary Achievements as immigrations of the United

those ironwill rarely speak figures that haunt ( Diaz, 128) to start his story. That is his way to
express how he thinks of his mom. He chooses one significant sense that shows how hard her
mom tried to be educated when she was in the Dominican Republic to explain why he thinks his
mom is tough. For example, Two days before the move, she got down on her knees beside a
stagnant puddle of water, put her mouth in it and drank deeply (Diaz, 129). After reading this part

Human Rights And Non Governmental Organizations
The twentieth century has been seen as a turning point for human rights.
Many business people and ethicists believe that it is time for businesses to start following human
rights. There is however the lack of agreement of human rights laws from transnational
corporations. Transnational corporations support human rights by providing jobs with livable wages
and show respect for rule of law. However, transnational corporations are also known for violating
human rights laws by providing very unsafe working conditions, lower than average pay, have
harmful environmental pollution, commit bribery and seem to ignore the laws of the host nation.
Non governmental and transnational organizations have not been very effective in abiding by
human rights laws and must begin to follow set human rights laws if they want to receive more
support. The debate of human rights extensions to non governmental organizations has focused on
the following key questions. The most basic questions are if and should corporations have any
responsibilities at all? For further question they ask: whose human rights they should consider,
which human rights obligations they should consider, and what are the resources to corporate
resources should be devoted to human rights protection? In 2000, the United Nations Secretary
General Kofi Annan introduced the global compact as a policy and framework for responsible
business practice in the global economy. The UN global compact asks businesses to enact, support

Aspiration Pneumonia Essay
Introduction
Background and Significance Dysphagia is a swallowing disorder that is described as an
abnormality in transferring a solid or liquid bolus from the oral cavity to the stomach (Bernard,
Loeslie, Rabatin, 2015). With a diagnosis of dysphagia, a patient will likely aspirate foods and/or
liquids of different consistencies. Aspiration is the entry of food or liquid into the airway below the
true vocal folds (Logemann, 1998, p. 5). Specifically, thin liquid dysphagia occurs when a patient
aspirates while consuming any liquids that are not thickened, such as water. Patients with thin
liquid dysphagia are often prescribed a modified thickened liquid only diet, meaning they consume
liquids that are thickened to a greater consistency of nectar, honey, or pudding (Carlaw et al.,
2007). An increased viscosity reduces the flow rate of a bolus, makes it more cohesive, and is
easier for many people to control intraorally, thus preventing spillage into the airway (Murray,
Miller, Doeltgen, Scholten, 2013). Dysphagia can also contribute to the occurrence of aspiration
pneumonia. Aspiration pneumonia occurs when organisms infiltrate the lower respiratory tract
during an episode of aspiration and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most commonly used free water protocols is The Frazier Free Water Protocol (FWP)

with dysphagia to have oral intake of water between meals, even while prescribed with a
thickened liquids diet. Initially, the purpose of the FWP was to increase compliance of patients on
modified diets; however, more recently, researchers are claiming the positive outcomes of
increased hydration levels (Bernard et al, 2015). Patients on thickened liquids only diets often

State your results: the mean, median, mode, range, variance, and standard deviation Based on
the given sample of student test scores of 50, 60, 74, 83, 83, 90, 90, 92, and 95 after
rearranging them from least to greatest. As the mean is based on the average of sum, the
average of this sample is 79.67 or 80. The mode refers to numbers that appear the most in a
sequence and in this case 83 and 90 both appear twice. Range calculates the difference between
the largest and smallest number, which are 95 and 50 which have a difference of 45. The variance
is the difference between the sum of squares divided by the sample size, which is the number in the
sample minus one (Hansen Myers, 2012), meaning it takes each number of the set and subtracts...

The best method to solve for the mean, medium, mode, range, variance, and standards deviation, in
this case is by hand and not on SSPS. For a novice, they would spend more time figuring how to
set the parameters and spend roughly the same amount of time on the analyzation that they would
when using the software. Although, a moderate user of the SSPS software would solve this
problem rather quickly. Though, it is recommended to use SSPS when analyzing a large sample size.
Conduct a one sample t test and interpret the results (use a population mean of 70). One sample t

their day to be cut short of possible adventure by going outside and finding your bike is missing a

Nutlock replaces the nut or skewer where your bike wheel attaches to the frame (the hub or
center point that the wheel revolves on). Normally, it is very easy for bike thieves to walk up
with a wrench and remove the nut or skewer, freeing the wheel from the bike frame in seconds.
The back wheel is a little more tricky and time consuming because of the chain and possibly
gears, but still manageable for any experienced bike thief. The nutlock features a conical shape
with open ended cutouts (where you insert your unique key) so that wrenches and other tools
used for theft can t find a place to grip, slipping right off the nutlock before they can get enough
torque to begin to unfasten the nutlock by even a micrometer. To put it in other words, to install
the nutlock on your bike is like fastening your wheel with a special nut and you have a unique
wrench that is the only tool that can unfasten it. Of course, the nutlock is only for your bike
wheels; you ll still need a u lock or chain to secure your bike to a sturdy foundation so nobody goes

The Turkey Tail is a polypore fungus and reproduces by sexual reproduction. It is heterothallic,
meaning there are haploid (n) mycelia of different types that must participate in the sexual process.
Sexual fruiting bodies (basidiocarps) can only be formed when two mycelia of different mating
type come together to undergo plasmogamy. The matched mycelia undergo plasmogamy but their
nuclei remain unfused, a dikaryotic state, for most of the fungal life. As the fungus develops, and

nationalist views. They all believe that they are right and it seems that they won t quit until others
believe it. All groups for nationalist views want the same thing like unionist groups they all want
the same thing to but are going different ways about it. There are political parties, terrorist groups,
religious groups and historical links battling for unionist and nationalist views. It causes a lot of
suspicion and violence and there is not just one fight to be solved but many.

Chinese, and Persians is contrasting to the popular belief that Islam is a discriminatory race, while
actually all of these cultures along with countless smaller groups aided in the contribution of the
construction of the Islamic civilization. The main logic behind this intellectual boom in the Islamic

the impetus of the movement, as scholars from all around attempted to seek out the intellectual

Ultra-Violence In A Clockwork Orange

Insider Trading Is The Tip Of The Iceberg
Executive Summary ABC News reported that Oliver Curtis, who is investment banker, was
sentenced guilty of insider trading. Since 1973, there have only been 79 insider trading cases
brought before the courts, in what lawyers said could just be the tip of the iceberg. Insider trading
occurs where a person trades in shares or other financial products with possession of confidential
information that is not available to public. Insider tradingis also prohibited under Div. 3 of Pt. 7.10
of Corporations Act. Some of researches insisted that insider trading is necessary as a price
accelerator and brings the price of securities to their proper level more quickly. However, most
experts such as financial experts, or lawyers, insist that insider trading is harmful to market, small
investors, or traders. The most common view of insider trading is harmful because it brings
unfairness to the person, who do not have the inside information. With these arguments and Oliver
Curtis case, this report define concept of Insider trading and relevant terms. After that, it will

Drug Addiction, Death, And Burroughs Lifestyle
Drug addiction, death, and Burroughs lifestyle are perfect examples of voices from the fringe.
William S. Burroughs was born on February 5, 1914, in St. Louis, Missouri. Burroughs died in
Lawrence, Kansas, on August 2,1997. He supposedly died from complications of a heart attack,
which he incurred the day before. He was buried in the family plot in Bellefontaine Cemetery,
which is located in St. Louis Missouri. His gravestone read his full name and the engravement
American Writer on it. The grave was placed to the right side of William Seward Burroughs I(1857
1898), which was Burroughs grandfather. (Burroughs, Bio) Burroughs was the younger of two
sons born to the parents Laura Hammon Lee and Mortimer Perry Burroughs. The Burroughs
family was recognized as wealthy and of English descent in St. Louis, Missouri. Burroughs
grandfather was known for founding the Burroughs Adding Machine Company. It later became
known as the Burroughs Corporation. Burroughs mother was known as the daughter of a minister.
The ministers family was apparently related to the famous and remarkable Robert E. Lee. Ivy Lee,
Burroughs maternal uncle was an advertising innovator. He later got employment being a publicist
for the famous Rockefellers. Burroughs father ran an antique and gift shop, known as Cobblestone
Gardens with their first location being in St. Louis, Missouri and then later on in Palm Beach,
Florida. Burroughs lived on Pershing Ave. in St, as a child in St. Louis s Central West End.

Research Question
What is the significance of the research question?
Doctoral Seminar: Research Methodology I November 3rd, 2011

Introduction
In a research project the researcher is either provided with a research idea by an organization
/university or he/she has to generate it by himself/herself. In both cases defining the research
question is of major importance for the success of the research project. In this short overview we
focus on the significance of research questions when one has to generate the idea and topic of a
research project individually. The goal of this short paper is to show, why a clear research question
is important for successful research and for a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Strong hypotheses give insight into a research question and give a hint on what we will find
when we answer the research question. A hypothesis gives therefore an a priori answer to the
research question. Punch (1998) makes the following connection between hypothesis and
research question: A specific research question states what we are trying to find out. The
hypothesis predicts, a priori, the answer to that question. Punch (1998) suggest that we do not
need a hypothesis in any case. It only makes sense when we have an explanation in mind behind
the hypothesis. A further question we should ask is what answer we expect and why. If we
expect a certain answer only because previous research has found it to be true, we do not need to
propose a hypothesis. To summarize and find out whether a hypothesis is reasonable one can
follow figure 1.
Is a hypothesis reasonable? Do you have an explanation in mind for the question?

Is the expected answer predictable?

Is the answer predictable due to previous research?

Night Of The Taunting Analysis
The Night of the Taunting; Blood on the Colonists Hands
On the moonlit night of March 5th 1770, a heated argument began on King Street in Boston,
Massachusetts between British soldiers and Bostonians, it later escalated, resulting with 5 dead and
6 wounded. The ones at fault for the unravelment of these events were obviously the mob of angry
Bostonians, because they atrociously taunted and defied the British soldiers, and they ruthlessly
threatened the sentry s life by viciously throwing clubs and chunks of ice.
The Boston Massacre was a result of the colonists behavior towards the British militia, they started
the entire thing by provoking and taunting the soldiers. On that night colonists surrounded the
sentry that was guarding the Custom House, and according to Captain Thomas Preston they cursed
and threatened his troops, they also dared them to fire their bayonets. ... Show more content on

According to a new England newspaper article, A Fair Account of the late Unhappy Disturbance at
Boston in New England, a large piece of ice struck one of the troops, taking away the little amount
of patience they still had. It even says that Captain Preston tried to control the mob but they did not
listen. What else were they supposed to do? They could have not just stood there when they were
getting hit by balls of ice without doing anything, they were just defending themselves. Yes, people
might argue that it was not fair because the colonists did not have bayonets like the troops did, they
just had clubs, sticks or ice. But honestly, they started it and were not planning to stop. They knew
what they were getting into. They were soldiers, so of course they had weapons, and the colonists
knew that. It is not like they just started shooting out of nowhere, and even after the taunting
started, the troops tried to prevent anything from happening. The colonists should not have begun

Comparing Islam And Radical Islam
Islam and radical Islam are a hot topic among media outlets and dinner tables, often being confused
that they are either two different things or derivatives of early Christianity. The fact remains that
Islam and radical Islam are one and the same and, though there may be some early similarities to the
Old Testament, Islamand Christianity are as different as the clouds in the sky to a deep, barbed
pit. Though I will not be covering every facet that exists between the Bible and the Qur an, I will
be covering the so called difference between radical Islam and its moderate counterpart, abrogation
and how it works within Islam, differences between Jesusand Muhammadas figure heads, and the
ethical behavior between neighbors in relation to Islamic and Christian beliefs. Radical Islam is
a relatively new term that mainstream media, and empathizers of the Muslim faith, have
adopted to defend the ideals of Islam without calling it Islam. Radical, in this sense, would mean
either extreme or differing from the majority of the Muslim population. However, if we take a
look into the roots of Islam and the laws put in place by Muhammad hundreds of years ago, we
notice that the moderates are the true anomaly, as detailed in the non partisan work Is the Quran
Hate Propaganda (TheReligionofPeace [TROP] 2002 2006). The Qur an lists several books
pertaining to the rules of government, military, and social laws of the Muslim people, however, it

The Future of Education in America
Public Policy Term Paper
The Future of Education in America We are now taking the lead because for too long the public
school system in Camden has failed its children , exclaimed Chris Christie, the standing Governor
of New Jersey. On the one hand, The New Jersey Public School System was awarded number 1 as
the best system in the nation by 2012 Education State Ranking (Morgan, 2011). Yet on the other,
only 2 percent of the graduates from Camden High School scored high enough on the SAT s to be
considered college prepared. This blatant inconsistency echoes the hyper polarization of wealth and
indigence throughout not only the state of New Jersey, but also the country as a whole. In response
to this crisis, NJ s Governor Christie has proposed the Opportunity Scholarship Act, which would
stimulate competition between schools and in turn boost the quality of education. The act would
create this competitive open market by providing scholarship funds to eligible low income children
who attend a chronically failing school district in order for them to choose to attend an alternative
public or non public school. Before thoroughly examining Christie s OSA, it is necessary to zoom
out and discuss the importance and advantage of scholastic development. Education is the
fundamental necessity to realize the full extent of opportunity in The United States of America. In
this country, we live in a society that is politically democratic and economically capitalistic with

The Pros And Cons Of Dental Implants
People are obsessed with having pearly white perfect teeth. This obsession for the perfect smile
starts young and last well into the senior years. Dental technology has improved over the last
several years dramatically. At one time, the only option was a dental plate or bridge to replace
missing teeth. Now, people with missing teethfind that dental implants are the perfect option
because they look quite natural. In addition, the dental implants are less intrusive and allow the
individual to eat, talk, smile, and laugh in a perfectly normal fashion. However, there are a few
people that are not good candidates for dental implants.
Age Restrictions
We ve all heard about a young ten that might have one or two teeth missing due to an accident. The
parent might decide that they are perfect candidates for a dental implant. This will help restore the
teens smile and confidence. Think again. Dental implants are not for the very young. It is agreed
that the best dental implant candidate is at least 17 or 18 years old. Why? Well, the youngster must
reach full development before they obtain the dental candidate. Talk to your dentist. They will
determine if the teen has reached full development. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Professor Youssef
INTRODUCTION:
Bacteria are the smallest living organisms, they are prokaryotic and have a simple cell structure.
They do not contain a nucleus, and are unicellular. Bacteria are the most abundant microorganism.
They are among the earliest forms of life that appeared on earth billions of years ago. They can
grow in different temperatures and many exist naturally in our human flora, such as staphylococci.
Growth within different temperatures can range from 0 degrees Celsius such as psychrotrophs, to
hyperthermophiles who grown best above 70 degrees Celsius (Ritchey, Exercise 16). Bacteria have
many shapes, size, and multicell arrangements. The main bacteria shapes are cocci (spherical or
ovoid shaped), bacilli (straight rods), coccobacillus (short rods), fusiform bacillus (rod shaped
bacilli with tapered ends), vibrio (curved rods), spirillum (single spiral bacteria), and spirochete (if
it is flexible and undulating). Bacteria can form multicell arrangements, such as diplococcus (two
cell arrangements) (. Bacteria are usually named for their shape or multicell arrangement, but
cannot be truly identified by just those characteristics (Strelkauskas, Edwards, Fanhert, Pryor,
2016). Bacteria can be classified by the way they stain. They are clear under a microscope and
require staining to be seen. To stain a bacteria, one takes a dye to color the cells. There are basic
dyes that contain

Missouri S T Case Study
From the information I know, Missouri S T, through its CEC, offers a unique and exciting
opportunity. The CEC size, demography, breadth and quality of its educational and research
programs, expertise of its faculty and diversity of its student population are key distinguishing
features. To sustain and strengthen its leadership position as one of the largest engineeringand
computing colleges in the country, CEC needs to continue to support its existing successful
programs and enhance its teaching and research mission and activities. For instance, research has
shown that students from different backgrounds resonate more with certain engineering topics

CEC s nine departments cover almost all key engineering fields of interest to modern society,
industry, economy and national security. The integration of engineering and computing activities in
one college offers tremendous opportunity for CEC to address critical challenges in areas of
national and international importance, such as manufacturing and automation, 3 D printing,
cybersecurity, internet of things, and large sensor networks, to name just a few. The size and
breadth of CEC make it feasible to offer advanced programs in such specialized areas and position
itself as one of the most innovative and leading colleges in the country. This will dramatically
enhance CEC s national reputation as a premier engineering college and advance it to the top 50
engineering programs in U.S. Moreover, CEC can leverage size and breadth of its programs to
demonstrate its strong commitment to diversifying the workforce in America and increasing the
number of engineers from underrepresented groups. This enables CEC to present itself as a major
contributor to broadening participation in engineering and computing which has been a national
challenge for many

shows, Law and Order Special Victims Unit. In this episode, Choice (season 5), we are
introduced to an assault victim who is pregnant. Over the course of the episode, we discover that
the victim, Jennifer, has been drinking heavily due to the stress she has been put under. Initially
she agrees to stop, but it is soon discovered that Jennifer is a severe alcoholic, and has no intention
of altering her behavior. The lead detective, Olivia, tries to get her help, but it s eventually
discovered that Jennifer has already given birth to another child who was later adopted, and who is
now suffering with fetal alcohol syndrome. In this episode, we see that Jennifer s husband, along
with many of the SVU detectives try to provide her with resources, support, and advice, but it
takes her being introduced to her biological child and seeing the severity of the consequences of
her actions that she chooses to accept the help she needs. There were many other factors in this
pregnancy that could also be harmful to the child. Not only was the mother an alcoholic who
continued to drink, she also was under a severe amount of stress throughout the pregnancy. She

round schooling.
In addition, kids in school often struggle with the lack of ability to remember what they learned the

According to Grace Chen, an outstanding education researcher and writer in the article
Year Round Vs Traditional Schedule in Public Schools she stated that children often lose skills in
math and language art over summer break, they also have to readapt to school schedules, teachers,
school expectations and homework deadlines. This shows that students go through a lot of stress to
readapt to school over their long summer break and that results in the loss of concrete skills needed
to succeed in school.
Students would not have to relearn what they forget over the summer since they would only be
out of school, for at the most, three weeks at a time. They would return ready to pick up where
they left off. Research shows that kids forget most of what they learn in the first three weeks after

Abstract
Electrochemical behavior and hydrogen evolution reaction of mild steel in sulfuric acid solutions,
containing different concentrations of gamma Aminobutyric acid (GABA) as a green inhibitor
have been investigated. The electrochemical techniques included Tafel polarization and
electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The rate of both the corrosion reaction and the
hydrogen evolution affected significantly by changing GABA concentrations. Polarization results
showed that GABA is a mixed type inhibitor with good inhibition efficiency. Increasing the
temperature led to an increase in the hydrogen evolution rate and a decrease in the total surface
resistance value (RT) or the relative film thickness (1/CT) of the steel. Quantum calculation
including EHOMO, ELUMO, the energy gap (?E) and the fraction of transferred electrons (?N)
demonstrated the inhibition ability of GABA. The results were confirmed by surface examination
using scanning electron microscopy. Adsorptionof GABA on the steel surface fitted the Langmuir
isotherm. Thermodynamic parameters

U.s. Labor Policy Proposal Essay
Labor Policy Proposal

Institution
Introduction Many people have no idea of what they expect to achieve after retirement when asked
about their retirement plans. The government s policies about retirement do not cater for the well
being of retirees creating a lot of worry for the life after employment. The increasing number of
employees demanding cover by government pension programs and the current decline in the
retirement income levels contributes to the change of the American pension landscape (Heiland
and Li, 2012). The United States of America developed labor laws during the time when the
country s economy was independent and self contained. The main aim of U.S. labor policy was to
get rid of different challenges affecting employees and improve their lifestyle in order to enjoy
working in a suitable environment. Additionally, the labor policy aimed at protecting American
workers by law and protecting certain human rights. According to Dugas (2013), despite the
growing economy in U.S. more than 28 percent of American workers lack confidence with the
current labor policy on retirement. The research conducted by the Employment Benefit Research
Institute (EBRI) in 2013 revealed that most workers are not sure of saving money for retirement.
The above information calls upon a recommendation of labor policy about retirement that would
fulfill the demands of workers. The proposed policy will bring change to the Public Employees

The fast food industry has come a long way from its humble beginnings in the suburbs of

Customer health is completely in the hands of the establishment and standards must be met in
order to ensure the health of customers. Due to many loopholes in current standard, it is easy for
companies to take advantage of what is in their food. In order to address public health for the
better, many fast food establishments have made public commitments to use only wholesome and
healthy ingredients in their food. The use of legally binding codes of conduct and ethics in fast
food help to ensure public safety and proper treatment of employees. Enforcement of these codes
will make for both a better image of fast food and receiving more trust from the public.
Over time, an easy scapegoat for consumers suffering from obesity has been fast food itself. The
great taste and relatively cheap price of fast food is claimed as making it an attractive option to
those with low income as well as the middle class, to some extent. Fast food is a long term trend

decision to dine out falls upon the customer. Fast food restaurants have gone far and wide to clean

Computer Security Breaches On The Internet
Executive Summary
Internet has grown leap and bounds over the last few years. This has resulted in a number of
computer security breaches on the Internet. Most of the computers that use Internet are vulnerable
to attack. Due to this reason, Intrusion Detection systems have grown rapidly and there is an
ongoing research since it s a developing field. ID (Intrusion Detection) is a type of a security
management system that gathers and analyzes information to identify security breaches, which
include both, attacks from outside the organization and attacks from inside as well (misuse). ID
includes analysis of abnormal activity, tracking user policy violations, assessing systems and file
integrity and vulnerability. It helps us differentiate the normal behavior of system and helps us
obtain any abnormal activity that is taking place. This can be done easily using data mining and it
helps increase its sustainability to attacks.
This project helps us understand the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and our aim is to implement
it using a common tool named (Waitkato Environment for Knowledge Analysis) WEKA that is
written in Java. This tool is very powerful and it will help us implement IDS by using techniques
of data analysis and predictive modeling. It supports various algorithms and tasks such as data
preprocessing, classification, regression, clustering, and many more. It is a very simple tool to
understand and is an open source.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Nmps
Introduction Every year, thousands of individuals worldwide are affected by Spinal Cord Injury
(SCI), a devastating neurological disorder that, unfortunately, remains without an effective therapy,
since the current approved approaches are essentially palliative1. Several types of new therapeutic
strategies, including cellular, molecular and combinatorial approaches, have been studied in the
recent years. Cell therapies, aiming particularly at replacing lost neurons and recovering the
neuronal circuitry, are typically seen as holding a great potential for changing the paradigm towards
more curative interventions. Numerous approaches are being developed, each one having its own
advantages and disadvantages as it has been reviewed elsewhere1,... Show more content on

This would represent a major technical advancement and gives a new hope for the development of
the desired effective spinal cord regeneration therapies. Notwithstanding, it is still necessary to
refine the methods for differentiation of NMPs into spinal cord motor neurons and to guarantee
that the specific neuronal subtypes are generated with precision. In turn, this refinement will require
a more complete understanding of NMPs and their differentiation, and also of the molecular
mechanisms involved in the DV patterning of the spinal

Personal Identity In The Overcoat And The Nose
In Gogol s The Overcoat , an every man apparently becomes something more by replacing his
overcoat. In Gogol s The Nose , a man is temporarily reduced to nothing upon literally losing his
nose. In both texts, the interplay of dreams and reality serve to highlight Gogol s issues with the
fabric of Russian society and personal identity by creating unconventional narration, a dynamic
perspective, and characterization.
In the beginning stages of both the The Overcoat and The Nose , the reader is introduced to the
respective protagonists through an unconventional first person narration. In both stories, the narrator
acknowledges the fourth wall and addresses the audience as if he were an external storyteller
verbalizing the respective stories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Again, the transition in perspective makes the state of reality unclear, and serves to highlight
the supreme importance rank holds in Gogol s society. If The Nose was only told from
Kovalyov s point of view, for example, it may have been possible he hallucinated or dreamed the
entire thing. By initially making the perspective that of the barber, Gogol makes his story much
more surreal; either Kovalyov s nose is literally walking about St. Petersburg, or St. Petersberg is
experiencing some kind of surreal, shared phantasm. This surrealism allows Gogol to highlight
the absurdity of the situation: At first, the barber is afraid that he has found Kovalyov s nose, but
after the nose is masquerading about the streets with certain clothes and minor embellishments, it
is treated with such reverence that even Kovalyov treats his own nose as an official of higher
rank. It is only when Kovalyov files a report with the police that his nose is finally returned to
him, and even then the police officer had trouble recognizing the nose as not being a high ranking
official. Through the surrealism brought about by dynamic perspective, Gogol highlights the
absurdity of how much his society focuses on rank. While the interplay of dream and reality
generate the dynamic, surrealist perspective in The Nose and The Overcoat , the nature of dreams
and reality also directly affects

Emergency Medical Technician Identification Report
For my senior project, I chose to participate in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class at
Mendocino College. The reason I chose this class is because I began my Senior year of high
school knowing I wanted to attain a job in the medical field. My first instinct was to become a
Registered Nurse but that was my ultimate goal. And to achieve that goal first things first I knew I
need to get my feet wet. I was intrigued to study emergency medicinebecause every day is different
and you never know what emergency you might come upon. Patients and families are counting on
you to help them in possibly worst time of their life. Patients are scared and so are families and
you are the first to see the patient before they are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In every department an EMT works in it is guaranteed they will come face to face with a patient
in need of medical attention. I am very happy with the class I chose for my senior project. In the
EMT class, I have learned valuable knowledge that can save the life of a person in need some
day. I know now after doing my first ride along with an ambulance and being able to attain 10
patient contacts has made me realize how much I love being in an ambulance and helping
patients in need. On the first day of my ride along I worked an 8 hour shift and got absolutely no
calls. I did not let that get to me because I knew in this profession there will be days where
nobody will be able to sit down for a second and there will also be days where they will be sitting
down all day. On my second day of ride alongs, I became the black cloud . We got 6 calls in a 12
hour period. My first patient contact had my heart racing a million beats per second. The
adrenaline was insane and was something I had never felt before. We arrived on scene to a care
facility that was severely dirty. Feces were everywhere and the patient was complaining of
difficulty breathing. I did not expect to be able to actually work the patient the first run, but my
EMT and Paramedic were extremely helpful with my hands on learning experience. They allowed
me to attain vital signs which included blood pressure, pulse rate, respiratory rate, pupils, blood

Descriptive Essay On New York City
New York City. One of the greatest states. And full of tourist! Whenever tourists come to New
York City, there is a checklist of place to see and visit. There is the Statue of Liberty, the Empire
State building, Central Park, and, of course, Time Square. Time Square is the center of
everything touristy. It is full of shopping, food, lights, and Broadway plays. Almost anyone who
comes to visits always goes there. Take it from a girl who use to be a tourist herself. Whenever I
was visiting New York City, my family and I would never miss Time Square. We would always
make our way there and especially at night when the lights are shining. Time Square really is the
enhances New York s Motto as the city that never sleeps. However, Time Square did not start out
as the center of tourism. It has a whole history behind it and how it became the attraction it became!
Time Square, the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, wasn t originally called Times
Square. It was actually called Longacre Square in the 19th century. It was named after London s
carriage district (New York Times). Yes, Times Square used to be a horse and buggy
neighborhood. Just imagine Times Square full of horses. It was named Longacre square because
it was named after Long acre in London. Long acre was a horse coach industry that did business
with the people in New York (New York Public Library). But eventually, with the opening of
businesses, subways, and Broadway shows made it hard so

The American Crocodile Essay
The American Crocodile
(Crocodylus acutus)
Crocodylus acutus, or more commonly referred to as the American crocodile, is the second most
widely distributed of the New World crocodiles, ranging from the southern tip of Florida, both the
Atlantic and Pacific Coasts of Southern Mexico, as well as the Caribbean islands of Cuba,
Jamaica, and HispaniolaВЎВЁ (1 Species). These areas provide the perfect climate for these
endangered species that have roamed the earth for over 200 million years. Florida is known for its
large population of American alligators, which are often confused for the rare American crocodile.
However, there are vast differences between the two species. Hunted for their hides and the

This Family is further divided into three subfamilies: Alligatorinae (alligators), Gavialinae (gharial),
and Crocodylinae (crocodiles).
Very often the American alligator(Alligatorinae mississippiensis) is confused for an American
crocodile, even though these two species are of the same family they are different in many ways.
The alligator has a much broader snout and the crocodile a much narrower snout
¡§¡Knarrower snouts usually indicating fish eating species¡¨ (42). Another characteristic
seen in the American crocodile and not the alligator is the front two teeth that penetrate the upper
jaw from below as they grow (2 List). These teeth are one of the major differences between
crocodiles and alligators.
A not so recognizable difference between the American crocodile and alligator is the
crocodileВЎВ¦s ability to regulate saltwater balance in their body. Crocodiles maintain salt
concentrations in their body fluid at the typical level of other vertebrates, which is about one third
that of seawater (52). ВЎВ§The osmoregulatory problems posed by life in fresh or saline waters
are related to the amounts of water and salts exchanged across various body surfaces. Loss of
salts and water occurs in feces and urine, through respiration, excretion from salt glands in the
tongue, and through the skin. The ability of the American crocodile to tolerate salt water is related
to their low rate of water loss, low rate of sodium uptake, the ability to excrete excess

Essay on Integral Philosophy of Education
Integral Philosophy of Education
ABSTRACT: Education, an action, is a process, a development of the imperfect human being
intentionally directed at achieving the ideal of human plenitude in the best possible manner. This is
a description of the educational process based on the human being who travels toward plenitude, a
point of arrival; the human being who achieves his or her own perfection in the best possible
manner; and a method: intentional guidance towards plenitude in the harmonious formation of
humanity. It is not enough to say what education is or what it is like. It is necessary to clarify what
education is for. The harmonious development of essential, integral and vocational abilities makes
the student more perfect and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a method: intentionally guiding a human being towards the plenitude of the harmonious
formation of man. Personalized education does not exclude that which is essential common and
equal in all human beings; instead, it invigorates and justifies the individual himself or his
individual personality. Body and soul are susceptible to acquiring perfection and beauty, as Plato
wished. This perfection assumes there is a natural, progressive and systematic development of all of
man s superior abilities. Education is about preparing us for an integral life and for that which
comes after our worldly existence. For that reason, the organization of habits capable of adapting
individuals to their physical and social environment are so important. It would, however, be an error
to limit us, as pragmatists do, to the organization of habits and the adaptation of individuals to their
circumstances. The formation of men: as multi dimensional and harmonious human beings and not
just as specialists is fundamental. In this sense, education is the intentional perfection of uniquely
human powers through systematic activities exercised by teachers with learners.
The individual who receives education is an imperfect person capable of perfection. A person
becomes educated because he is able to be educated; because his ability to acquire education

A Proposal to Implement a Gigabit Internet Setup for ABC...
IT Proposal The proposal attached herein this report proposes the cheapest and most cost
effective way to implement a Gigabit internet setup for ABC Inc s offices. Since all of the
offices and workstations in question are within 150 feet of the company s wiring closet, it will
not take a lot of infrastructure to get the job done. However, ABC should not cheap out and get
the bare minimum setup either. Proposed Equipment As for the cabling that would be required
to get Gigabit internet, or 1000 megabits per second, that would call for either Category 5+, 5e
or 6. Any one of those three is technically capable of supporting Gigabit speeds. All three have
been out for some time now and it would be best to go ahead and spend the extra amount,
although not too much extra, on the category 6 cable. If this is done, it is extremely unlikely
that any re cabling would have to occur for the foreseeable future (Lowe, 2002). The reason the
author of this proposal would highly recommend category 6 is because gigabit internet is the
fastest that 5 and 5e can run at. As such, if there is any increase in the speed of the other internet
equipment in the coming years, an upgrade to speeds would require re cabling of the actual
network cable as well and that day is coming sooner than one may think. Using 5 or 5e would be
foolish because category 6 is not that much more expensive and category 6 can handle ten gigabit
(10,000 mbps) internet at its top end В¦and that is just an estimate. It

Literary Merit Analysis
In enjoyment reading, the sole purpose of the book is to entertain the reader. In a literary merit,
the book may have a number of purposes. It may entertain, give a message or suggestion about
the current society, or various other purposes. Books read for enjoyment are oftentimes fun to
read and are appealing to a wide audience. However, these books are read by a majority of people
only one time through because they have a simple message that is easy to understand. On the
other hand, literary merit books may not be quite enjoyable in the same way that fun books are,
but they can be enjoyable in the sense that they have a deeper meaning. Many people may read the
same literary merit and can get several different messages from it along with... Show more content

George Orwell succeeded in creating a story that gives a very bleak and possible future. Since
the future is unknown, there are a near infinite possibilities for stories, each as possible as the
next. 1984 offers a different kind of look into the future. The majority of books that depict the
future show a hopeful version of the future. Even other dystopian stories give the characters
hope in some way shape or form. 1984 depicts a future with no hope and any hope that is given
is immediately taken away. If you are a man Winston, you are the last man. Your kind is extinct;
we are the inheritors. Do you understand that you are alone? You are outside history, you are
nonexistent. (Orwell 270). O Brien s words in this passage take any hope from Winston that men
might prevail over the Party. This bleak portrayal is Orwell s way of warning that the only way to
stop this future is to prevent it before it happens. For once this future comes to be, there is no
stopping it.
The Name of the Wind was written in the fantasy genre. Fantasy books are very common and
have many similarities. While The Name of the Wind has many distinct elements that make it a
story, it also has many similar aspects of fantasy, such as a form of magic, tales of adventure,
powerful characters, etc. Unlike 1984, The Name of the Wind isn t very unique from the other
stories in the genre and these books are not relevant to society

Examples Of Alienation In The Zoo Story
Gender, Sexuality and Power Relations in Edward Albee s The Zoo Story
The challenge of modernity is to live without illusions and without becoming disillusioned.
(Antonio Gramsci)
Abstract: Modern American Society was an assault equally on the integrity of an individual and
the social contract which sustains that individual in his relations with others resulting in
alienation. But if alienation erodes a sense of the real and breeds a mode of conformity as an
apparent solution to the problems of isolation, it also creates a sense of guilt, nebulous, unrelated,
an acknowledgement of that very failure of community and organic relationship which is itself
the essence of alienation. In order to create awareness and a sense of kinship amongst his fellow
Americans, Albee says: Sometimes it s necessary to go a long distance out of the way in order to
come back a short distance correctly. (The Zoo Story 12)
Keywords: Illusion, alienation, absurd, homosexuality, heterosexuality, power, gender, class
difference.
Introduction: With The Zoo Story, Albee is credited with changing the course of American Theatre
History. If Edward Albeehad not existed he would most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Zoo Story is concerned with Jerry s attempts to convert Peter to his new religion of Man. Jerry
uses many strategies to break his boredom and monotony and forcefully enters into conversation
with Peter who initially denies to communicate but gradually gets trapped into communication
network built by Jerry. Jerry gets Peter s attention when he mentions: I have been to the zoo.....

The Process of Packet Meat in Wenonah HauterВґs Foodpoly Essay
We do not take in consideration on where our meat comes from and how they treat the animals.
People do not know how the process is from slaughtering a cow to the meat that you buy in your

misrepresentation on what truly happens in the meatpackingindustry, hog industry, the impact on
small farmers, and how the working conditions are for the meat packing industryworkers. World
Wide Sires, Cooperative Resources International, and ABS Global are the three companies that
dominate the meat packaging industry. Hauter (2012) argues that over the past two decades meat

The fumes and accumulating waste that is pumped into lagoons are constantly leaking out and
are polluting the local waterways. The pollutions and fumes are also causing people to become
sick and choke from the toxic air. In 1992, family farms would control seventy percent of the
hogs that were raised on their farms for consumption (173). By the year of 2007, ninety five
percent of the hog productions were from factory farms (173). This only left 5 percent to small
family farms to raise their animals in the way they want it to be. Hauter (2012) argues the number
of small family famed hog operations in Missouri dropped from 23,000 in 1985 to 3,000 large
ones in 2007, a decline of 87 percent (180). Even though there has been a dropped in family farm

no one can entertain the way Kiss did in the 70 s. As a band they brought a great amount of

  • 2. Social Media Dangers Dangers of Social Media Social media is very dangerous now a days. It can cause many problems because of the amount of people that are connected on social media. There are many reasons that social media is dangerous because of people who get on their and try to lure children. Parents need to make sure they pay attention to what their children are doing online because it can potentially hurt them later on in life. Although many people believe that social media is very helpful because it allows people to connect together, it is clear that social media is very dangerous due to cyberbullying, affects on face to face interaction, and private information being spread. Cyberbullying is the use of electronic messaging to bully someone. Cyberbullying is reported as an aggressive, intentional act distributed by an individual or group, using contact in an electronic medium, continuously and relentlessly against someone who cannot stand up for himself or herself easily. Cyberbullying is an extreme problem on social media. The reason it is is because it is so easy to get connected with people and able to share information with everyone. • 3. Role Of Helen In The Odyssey Helen of Sparta s portrayals in many different accounts of mythology and history are extremely dissimilar. Helen was said to be the daughter of Zeus and Leda (Queen of Sparta), and was the wife of Menelaus, king of Sparta. Helen was abducted by Paris of Troy and when Menelaus came to retrieve Helen, the Trojan warbegan. In The Odyssey, Helen is shown as living happily with Menelausafter he brought her back from Sparta. She is portrayed as an intelligent person who sees things for what they truly are, but is mostly reserved to wifely duties. In Trojan Women by Euripides, Helen is shown as a person who was used by the gods as a reward for Paris with nothing else in mind. However, she fights vehemently for her own innocence in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning of the story, the gods are debating what to do with the Greeks after they pillaged Troy, but more specifically, violated Athena s shrine. Athena asks for help and says to Poseidon, I want to help the Trojans who were my enemies, and make the Greek army s homecoming a bitter one. (Euripides 63). To which Poseidon replies, You re so fickle. Your mind leaps here and there: now you hate, and now you love, and both in excess. (Euripides 65). Even Poseidon admits to the fickleness of the goddess since her allies during the war were the Greeks. This lends itself to show that Helen could be telling the truth about the goddesses having an argument about the beauty of each other and Aphrodite forcing Helen to run away with Paris. Helen also helps her argument by pointing out that the fight was preordained by the gods based on the prophecy about Paris, and then blames Paris s mother and father for letting Paris live, rather than slaying Paris and trying to stop the prophecy from coming true. Through the many effective arguments, Helen shows that she did not ask to be carried away by Paris and that she liked Menelaus. Menelaus seems very weak compared to Helen, especially since he seems to not be able to make up his mind whether to kill her or not. In the end, Menelaus seems to decide on letting her live, though he still tells ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Anatomy Of Anorexia By Steven Levenkron The book I chose for the critical book review is, Anatomy of Anorexia by Steven Levenkron. This book concentrates on the importance of detecting early symptoms of anorexia nervosa. This book is suitable for parents and friends of anorexia sufferers or others who would like to inform them of this disorder. He states that it typically has to do with teenaged girls and how people who experience this mental illnessneed serious help. This mental illness can even cause death, if not treated on time. It mentions how girls who are obsessed over their weight and size try to lose even more weight by doing extreme workout programs and severely restrict calories. He explains ways to detect someone with the beginnings of anorexia. He mentions how... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This analogy seems to really work for S. Levenkron. He is very proud of his record. He has taken on nearly 300 patients, of whom 90% have recovered sufficiently from this illness and only one of his patience took her life. However, parents should be quite thankful to have been notified by an expert like Steven Levenkron who knows the development of the disease and how to find a stop to it. When small children develop a sense of trust, and later a sense of intimacy or closeness to another, and a sense of self or identity, they are not vulnerable to becoming creatures of the culture in its most extreme form as exemplified by the media: magazines, movies, and so on. But individuals who are seduced by popular trends allow these trends to define much of their identity (20). In this quote it mentions how children at a young age develops trust in their surroundings and closeness to others. In the process, they begin looking for their own identity. Therefore, they wouldn t become defenseless to be like people in the media. They wouldn t get sucked into wanting to be the same, and try to be different. Some of these traits, such as perfectionist behavior, may disguise themselves as gifts to parents. They may see the child as independent, not needing much support in a family overburdened by other problems. A successful child who often does well in school and is socially outgoing, does not appear worrisome (21). In this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Report On A Virtual Core Network III. Proposed Applications The NFV ISG lists various possible scenarios in which NFV may be used in the current network infrastructure to help organizations reduce capital and operational expenditures and increase revenue via VNF services. While in theory, every network element can be virtualized, the ISG has identified specific devices based on feasibility in terms of cost and complexity of implementation. Mobile Networks: Mobile networks today are dominated by proprietary hardware. Having physical resource increases expenditure for the operators. Scaling of such resources may require replacement of hardware. Implementing NFV means that the hardware resource pool can be efficiently utilized based on demand. A virtualized mobile core network would also help minimize the signaling traffic on the network by grouping certain network functions together [1]. This paper will discuss more on a virtual Core network in section IV. VNF as a Service (VNFaaS): Many Enterprises have an infrastructure network of their own. Such a network puts added expenditure on enterprises to have a dedicated team of professionals to maintain and service this network. Also having equipment on their premises increases capital costs and operational costs such as energy. The ISG use cases [10] proposes to provide these enterprise infrastructure equipment as a virtual service hosted at the operator end. From the enterprise perspective it will be profitable for them to outsource this functionality and have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Sarbane Oxley Act is a US federal law that created new and expanded laws regarding the requirements for all US public companyboards, management, and accounting firms. The act has a number of provisions that apply to privately owned companies. The Act addresses the responsibilities of a public corporation s Board of Directors, adds criminal penalties for misconduct, and requires the SEC to create regulations that define how public corporations are expected to comply with the law. The SOX increases the penalties a company pays for fraudulent financial activity, and requires top management to provide individual verification to certify the accuracy of financial information, while also increasing the oversight role of a company s Board of Directors and the independence of outside auditors. • 7. The Dreamer And The Cruel Country Different Writing Styles Create Different Artistic Conceptions We are reading every day: newspapers, books, magazines. What make all those articles different from others? They may have different topics, different genres, or different backgrounds according to different writing styles. Even writing on the same theme, different writingstyles can create different artistic conceptions. Diaz s essay The Dreamer , and Cofer s essay The Cruel Country are both talking about how their moms perseverances influenced them on their literary Achievements as immigrations of the United States. After reading their essays, as an immigration in the United States as well, I was attracted by their different writing styles and emotional tones deeply. I am going to analyze those two essays on their unique writing techniques and different expressing patterns.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Diaz uses a story of his mom to penetrate his entire essay. His mom, as a Dominican girl, could get an education and immigrate to the United States. It was incredible and rarely at that time. At the beginning of the essay, Diaz states directly I think of my mother, of course. She s one of those ironwill rarely speak figures that haunt ( Diaz, 128) to start his story. That is his way to express how he thinks of his mom. He chooses one significant sense that shows how hard her mom tried to be educated when she was in the Dominican Republic to explain why he thinks his mom is tough. For example, Two days before the move, she got down on her knees beside a stagnant puddle of water, put her mouth in it and drank deeply (Diaz, 129). • 8. Human Rights And Non Governmental Organizations The twentieth century has been seen as a turning point for human rights. Many business people and ethicists believe that it is time for businesses to start following human rights. There is however the lack of agreement of human rights laws from transnational corporations. Transnational corporations support human rights by providing jobs with livable wages and show respect for rule of law. However, transnational corporations are also known for violating human rights laws by providing very unsafe working conditions, lower than average pay, have harmful environmental pollution, commit bribery and seem to ignore the laws of the host nation. Non governmental and transnational organizations have not been very effective in abiding by human rights laws and must begin to follow set human rights laws if they want to receive more support. The debate of human rights extensions to non governmental organizations has focused on the following key questions. The most basic questions are if and should corporations have any responsibilities at all? For further question they ask: whose human rights they should consider, which human rights obligations they should consider, and what are the resources to corporate resources should be devoted to human rights protection? In 2000, the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan introduced the global compact as a policy and framework for responsible business practice in the global economy. • 9. Aspiration Pneumonia Essay Introduction Background and Significance Dysphagia is a swallowing disorder that is described as an abnormality in transferring a solid or liquid bolus from the oral cavity to the stomach (Bernard, Loeslie, Rabatin, 2015). With a diagnosis of dysphagia, a patient will likely aspirate foods and/or liquids of different consistencies. Aspiration is the entry of food or liquid into the airway below the true vocal folds (Logemann, 1998, p. 5). Specifically, thin liquid dysphagia occurs when a patient aspirates while consuming any liquids that are not thickened, such as water. Patients with thin liquid dysphagia are often prescribed a modified thickened liquid only diet, meaning they consume liquids that are thickened to a greater consistency of nectar, honey, or pudding (Carlaw et al., 2007). An increased viscosity reduces the flow rate of a bolus, makes it more cohesive, and is easier for many people to control intraorally, thus preventing spillage into the airway (Murray, Miller, Doeltgen, Scholten, 2013). Dysphagia can also contribute to the occurrence of aspiration pneumonia. Aspiration pneumonia occurs when organisms infiltrate the lower respiratory tract during an episode of aspiration and the ... Initially, the purpose of the FWP was to increase compliance of patients on modified diets; however, more recently, researchers are claiming the positive outcomes of increased hydration levels (Bernard et al, 2015). • 10. Nt1320 Unit 2 Agression Analysis Paper State your results: the mean, median, mode, range, variance, and standard deviation Based on the given sample of student test scores of 50, 60, 74, 83, 83, 90, 90, 92, and 95 after rearranging them from least to greatest. As the mean is based on the average of sum, the average of this sample is 79.67 or 80. The mode refers to numbers that appear the most in a sequence and in this case 83 and 90 both appear twice. Range calculates the difference between the largest and smallest number, which are 95 and 50 which have a difference of 45. The variance is the difference between the sum of squares divided by the sample size, which is the number in the sample minus one (Hansen Myers, 2012), meaning it takes each number of the set and subtracts... For a novice, they would spend more time figuring how to set the parameters and spend roughly the same amount of time on the analyzation that they would when using the software. Although, a moderate user of the SSPS software would solve this problem rather quickly. Though, it is recommended to use SSPS when analyzing a large sample size. Conduct a one sample t test and interpret the results (use a population mean of 70). One sample t test are used in the parametric test which analyzes the means of populations. • 12. Nutlock Research Paper All around the world people use bicycles for transportation as a necessity as well as for adventure, so, at no surprise, all around the world bike thieves exist to capitalize on unprotected bicycles. Nutlock is the latest in the trend of bike wheel theft deterrent devices. No one wants their day to be cut short of possible adventure by going outside and finding your bike is missing a wheel, or worse, both wheels. Instead of your day having a lovely bike ride, the adventure has now become to run around in circles wanting to shake down every John and Jane on the block to try and find your bike. Playing detective is a fun adventure, but not when your snooping around for your stolen stuff. Nutlock is a convenient preventative to this ugly circumstance.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nutlock replaces the nut or skewer where your bike wheel attaches to the frame (the hub or center point that the wheel revolves on). Normally, it is very easy for bike thieves to walk up with a wrench and remove the nut or skewer, freeing the wheel from the bike frame in seconds. The back wheel is a little more tricky and time consuming because of the chain and possibly gears, but still manageable for any experienced bike thief. It is heterothallic, meaning there are haploid (n) mycelia of different types that must participate in the sexual process. Sexual fruiting bodies (basidiocarps) can only be formed when two mycelia of different mating type come together to undergo plasmogamy. The matched mycelia undergo plasmogamy but their nuclei remain unfused, a dikaryotic state, for most of the fungal life. As the fungus develops, and goes through karyogamy, it will eventually produce haploid spores from the spore producing basidia. Strong hypotheses give insight into a research question and give a hint on what we will find when we answer the research question. A hypothesis gives therefore an a priori answer to the research question. Punch (1998) makes the following connection between hypothesis and research question: A specific research question states what we are trying to find out. The hypothesis predicts, a priori, the answer to that question. Punch (1998) suggest that we do not need a hypothesis in any case. It only makes sense when we have an explanation in mind behind the hypothesis. A further question we should ask is what answer we expect and why. If we expect a certain answer only because previous research has found it to be true, we do not need to propose a hypothesis. To summarize and find out whether a hypothesis is reasonable one can follow figure 1. Is a hypothesis reasonable? Do you have an explanation in mind for the question? Yes Is the expected answer predictable? Yes Is the answer predictable due to previous research? No It is suggested to formulate a hypothesis Figure 1: Decision scheme to decide whether a hypothesis is necessary for a research project (based on Punch, 1998) 3.

The ones at fault for the unravelment of these events were obviously the mob of angry Bostonians, because they atrociously taunted and defied the British soldiers, and they ruthlessly threatened the sentry s life by viciously throwing clubs and chunks of ice. The Boston Massacre was a result of the colonists behavior towards the British militia, they started the entire thing by provoking and taunting the soldiers. On that night colonists surrounded the sentry that was guarding the Custom House, and according to Captain Thomas Preston they cursed and threatened his troops, they also dared them to fire their bayonets. ... Comparing Islam And Radical Islam Islam and radical Islam are a hot topic among media outlets and dinner tables, often being confused that they are either two different things or derivatives of early Christianity. The fact remains that Islam and radical Islam are one and the same and, though there may be some early similarities to the Old Testament, Islamand Christianity are as different as the clouds in the sky to a deep, barbed pit. Though I will not be covering every facet that exists between the Bible and the Qur an, I will be covering the so called difference between radical Islam and its moderate counterpart, abrogation and how it works within Islam, differences between Jesusand Muhammadas figure heads, and the ethical behavior between neighbors in relation to Islamic and Christian beliefs. Radical Islam is a relatively new term that mainstream media, and empathizers of the Muslim faith, have adopted to defend the ideals of Islam without calling it Islam. Radical, in this sense, would mean either extreme or differing from the majority of the Muslim population. However, if we take a look into the roots of Islam and the laws put in place by Muhammad hundreds of years ago, we notice that the moderates are the true anomaly, as detailed in the non partisan work Is the Quran Hate Propaganda (TheReligionofPeace [TROP] 2002 2006). The Future of Education in America Public Policy Term Paper The Future of Education in America We are now taking the lead because for too long the public school system in Camden has failed its children , exclaimed Chris Christie, the standing Governor of New Jersey. On the one hand, The New Jersey Public School System was awarded number 1 as the best system in the nation by 2012 Education State Ranking (Morgan, 2011). Yet on the other, only 2 percent of the graduates from Camden High School scored high enough on the SAT s to be considered college prepared. This blatant inconsistency echoes the hyper polarization of wealth and indigence throughout not only the state of New Jersey, but also the country as a whole. In response to this crisis, NJ s Governor Christie has proposed the Opportunity Scholarship Act, which would stimulate competition between schools and in turn boost the quality of education. The act would create this competitive open market by providing scholarship funds to eligible low income children who attend a chronically failing school district in order for them to choose to attend an alternative public or non public school. Before thoroughly examining Christie s OSA, it is necessary to zoom out and discuss the importance and advantage of scholastic development. They can grow in different temperatures and many exist naturally in our human flora, such as staphylococci. Growth within different temperatures can range from 0 degrees Celsius such as psychrotrophs, to hyperthermophiles who grown best above 70 degrees Celsius (Ritchey, Exercise 16). Bacteria have many shapes, size, and multicell arrangements. The main bacteria shapes are cocci (spherical or ovoid shaped), bacilli (straight rods), coccobacillus (short rods), fusiform bacillus (rod shaped bacilli with tapered ends), vibrio (curved rods), spirillum (single spiral bacteria), and spirochete (if it is flexible and undulating). Bacteria can form multicell arrangements, such as diplococcus (two cell arrangements) (. Increasing the temperature led to an increase in the hydrogen evolution rate and a decrease in the total surface resistance value (RT) or the relative film thickness (1/CT) of the steel. Quantum calculation including EHOMO, ELUMO, the energy gap (?E) and the fraction of transferred electrons (?N) demonstrated the inhibition ability of GABA. The results were confirmed by surface examination using scanning electron microscopy. Adsorptionof GABA on the steel surface fitted the Langmuir isotherm. Thermodynamic parameters ... • 34. U.s. Labor Policy Proposal Essay Labor Policy Proposal Presented by Institution Introduction Many people have no idea of what they expect to achieve after retirement when asked about their retirement plans. The government s policies about retirement do not cater for the well being of retirees creating a lot of worry for the life after employment. The increasing number of employees demanding cover by government pension programs and the current decline in the retirement income levels contributes to the change of the American pension landscape (Heiland and Li, 2012). The United States of America developed labor laws during the time when the country s economy was independent and self contained. The main aim of U.S. labor policy was to get rid of different challenges affecting employees and improve their lifestyle in order to enjoy working in a suitable environment. Additionally, the labor policy aimed at protecting American workers by law and protecting certain human rights. According to Dugas (2013), despite the growing economy in U.S. more than 28 percent of American workers lack confidence with the current labor policy on retirement. The research conducted by the Employment Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) in 2013 revealed that most workers are not sure of saving money for retirement. The above information calls upon a recommendation of labor policy about retirement that would fulfill the demands of workers. The industry has grown from being a commodity that worked to satisfy its customers efficiently to being filled with corporations that are looking to make the largest profits possible. Due to many loopholes in current standard, it is easy for companies to take advantage of what is in their food. The use of legally binding codes of conduct and ethics in fast food help to ensure public safety and proper treatment of employees. Enforcement of these codes will make for both a better image of fast food and receiving more trust from the public. Over time, an easy scapegoat for consumers suffering from obesity has been fast food itself. The great taste and relatively cheap price of fast food is claimed as making it an attractive option to those with low income as well as the middle class, to some extent. Fast food is a long term trend that is of high impact to modern culture and living. However, it s hard to entirely place the blame on the fast food industry in the ever growing epidemic of obesity. This has resulted in a number of computer security breaches on the Internet. Most of the computers that use Internet are vulnerable to attack. Due to this reason, Intrusion Detection systems have grown rapidly and there is an ongoing research since it s a developing field. ID (Intrusion Detection) is a type of a security management system that gathers and analyzes information to identify security breaches, which include both, attacks from outside the organization and attacks from inside as well (misuse). ID includes analysis of abnormal activity, tracking user policy violations, assessing systems and file integrity and vulnerability. It helps us differentiate the normal behavior of system and helps us obtain any abnormal activity that is taking place. This can be done easily using data mining and it helps increase its sustainability to attacks. This project helps us understand the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and our aim is to implement it using a common tool named (Waitkato Environment for Knowledge Analysis) WEKA that is written in Java. This tool is very powerful and it will help us implement IDS by using techniques of data analysis and predictive modeling. If The Nose was only told from Kovalyov s point of view, for example, it may have been possible he hallucinated or dreamed the entire thing. By initially making the perspective that of the barber, Gogol makes his story much more surreal; either Kovalyov s nose is literally walking about St. Petersburg, or St. Petersberg is experiencing some kind of surreal, shared phantasm. This surrealism allows Gogol to highlight the absurdity of the situation: At first, the barber is afraid that he has found Kovalyov s nose, but after the nose is masquerading about the streets with certain clothes and minor embellishments, it is treated with such reverence that even Kovalyov treats his own nose as an official of higher rank. It is only when Kovalyov files a report with the police that his nose is finally returned to him, and even then the police officer had trouble recognizing the nose as not being a high ranking official. Through the surrealism brought about by dynamic perspective, Gogol highlights the absurdity of how much his society focuses on rank. Personalized education does not exclude that which is essential common and equal in all human beings; instead, it invigorates and justifies the individual himself or his individual personality. Body and soul are susceptible to acquiring perfection and beauty, as Plato wished. This perfection assumes there is a natural, progressive and systematic development of all of man s superior abilities. Education is about preparing us for an integral life and for that which comes after our worldly existence. For that reason, the organization of habits capable of adapting individuals to their physical and social environment are so important. It would, however, be an error to limit us, as pragmatists do, to the organization of habits and the adaptation of individuals to their circumstances. The formation of men: as multi dimensional and harmonious human beings and not just as specialists is fundamental. IT Proposal The proposal attached herein this report proposes the cheapest and most cost effective way to implement a Gigabit internet setup for ABC Inc s offices. Since all of the offices and workstations in question are within 150 feet of the company s wiring closet, it will not take a lot of infrastructure to get the job done. However, ABC should not cheap out and get the bare minimum setup either. Proposed Equipment As for the cabling that would be required to get Gigabit internet, or 1000 megabits per second, that would call for either Category 5+, 5e or 6. Any one of those three is technically capable of supporting Gigabit speeds. All three have been out for some time now and it would be best to go ahead and spend the extra amount, although not too much extra, on the category 6 cable. If this is done, it is extremely unlikely that any re cabling would have to occur for the foreseeable future (Lowe, 2002). The reason the author of this proposal would highly recommend category 6 is because gigabit internet is the fastest that 5 and 5e can run at. As such, if there is any increase in the speed of the other internet equipment in the coming years, an upgrade to speeds would require re cabling of the actual network cable as well and that day is coming sooner than one may think. But if alienation erodes a sense of the real and breeds a mode of conformity as an apparent solution to the problems of isolation, it also creates a sense of guilt, nebulous, unrelated, an acknowledgement of that very failure of community and organic relationship which is itself the essence of alienation.
