Focus group questionnaire gg
1. Focus Group Questionnaire
1. The mode of address for my magazine will be informal. I will use colloquial language
in place of formal and sophisticated language. Do you think this would be
conventional for a rock magazine? Would this type of language encourage you to
buy the magazine?
A. Yes! It would make me feel more comfortable to read.
2. I will use fonts that look quite distorted, broken and damaged. Do you think this
would be conventional for a rock magazine? Would this encourage you to buy the
magazine? Why?
A. Yes, it makes it look more edgy & rock
3. I will also pair these fonts with dark colours such as black and dark reds. Do you think
this would help the magazine appear as a rock magazine? Would this encourage you
to buy the magazine? Why?
A. Yes, these colours appeal to me as they aren’t too bright & don’t hurt my face
4. In my magazine I will include things like reviews, interviews, gigs/tour dates,
features, albums, etc. Do you think this would help the reader become more
interested in the artist? Would this encourage you to buy the magazine?
A. Yes, it’s fun to hear about the artist’s gigs etc, yes
5. The target audience for my magazine will be 16-25 year olds who are mainly male
but do include females. They’ll like things such as dark colours, the internet, bands,
artists, etc. Do you think what I’ve put in so far will help appeal to these? Why?
A. Yes, as it is quite similar to what Kerrang! produces, which appeals to the
audience, so yeah! All of these things are also appropriate for the rock genre &
would be appealing to the target audience
6. Finally, is there anything else in a rock magazine that you would include? Why?
A. Nope! Spot on ;D
