Part 2 – Audience Feedback
After I finished my rough cut I asked around for people
to judge my Rough cut and I received some feedback
mainly based around the use of fonts, lighting, colour,
text size, shapes and mise-en-sence.
Introduction
Question 1- What genre do you think this
is and why?
Punk rock due to the dark clothing of
actors making them look edgy.
Punk as the masthead has the word
punk in making it clear the genre is
punk.
Punk rock due to bright pink colour on
the magazine which is used in a lot of
punk magazines.
The blank stare of the actor instead of
smiling also implies this is punk as it
suggests a darker tone.
Question 2 – Would you buy this
magazine ?
No as the young actors used in the
magazine will likely be aimed at young
adults and teens.
Maybe as I like punk and it looks like a
punk magazine however I might not as
there is not much content.
Yes I would buy the magazine as I like
the genre and the magazine looks
professional
If I did like the genre I would as the
cover page photo makes the magazine
looks realistic
Question 3 – What draws you too this
magazine ?
The big masthead is easy to read from
distance due to the black and white
helping it stand out drawing my
attention.
The bright colours of pink and yellow
against the dark background catch my
attention
The cover page image as it looks like a
real punk artist due to the intense
clothing the actor is wearing.
The interesting style of text and
shows on “More inside” draws me to
magazine due to it looking unusual.
Question 4 – If you were to change one
thing what would it be ?
I would add some more content to the
contents page as it is lacking in some
parts.
I would place the writing for the
page at the bottom of the pages
of the side.
I would include more social media
websites to follow the magazine on
I would place the masthead slightly
higher up on the cover page
Question 5 – What audience would you
say this aims towards ?
I would say this aims towards teens
to the actor not smiling as he is trying
look cool which is type of attitude
teens show.
Teens as the actors shown on the
page are in their late teens suggesting
this aims towards teenagers because
actors are teenagers.
The lighting of the image is dark where
the teen actors are stood suggesting
magazine to be rebellious like teens
meaning it aims at them.
The use of bright text against a dark
background shows its trying to stand
like teens when they dress to got out.
This suggests it aims towards teens.
Conclusion
To conclude the feedback a received was really helpful into
making my magazine better as the criticism I received helped by
giving me improvements and the compliment let me know I’m
on the right track to designing my magazine.
