• My magazine is similar to 'Maverick' magazine and I believe that
the audience that is attracted to 'Maverick' would also be attracted
to my magazine, however, unlike 'Maverick', I think my magazine
is aimed at mainly younger country music fans who range from the
age of 13-18. I have always felt very strongly from personal
experience that there is a gap in the market for a country music
magazine that is mainly aimed at targeting teenage country music
fans. This would be my Unique Selling Point (USP).

• After doing audience research, I found out that there is
a gap in the market for a niche magazine that is aimed
mainly for teenage country fans, both male and female
fans would enjoy reading the magazine that I have
created.

• This issue of Maverick is clearly
designed in a country style, the
musician is obviously a country
star as he is wearing country style
clothes. However, Maverick's
primary audience is country fans
ranging from the age of 20-30,
they do this by using darker
colours and they have used an
older musician. Whereas in my
magazine the star is wearing
brighter colours and the he is a
teenager, this is so that it appeals
to the primary audience (13-18).
8. P R I M A R Y A U D I E N C E
• The primary audience for my product would be mostly
females as my magazine will have lots of male country
stars on the front of the magazine (this is more likely to
attract females than males). I would class males as
being more of a secondary audience, as I think that the
majority of the features I would include in the magazine
would be more female related. The age range for my
primary audience is 13-18 as I believe that the females
in this age range are the ones who listen to popular
country music and who still buy magazines.
9. S E C O N D A R Y A U D I E N C E
• My secondary audience is people who may not necessarily buy the
magazine themselves but they might read it when partners, friends
or family members have purchased. The reason for a secondary
audience is so that although the magazine may not appeal to them
straight away, they might want to buy it in the future after having
read it when they had a few spare moments and nothing else to do. I
would aim this magazine at a demographic who are very interested
in popular country music. My secondary audience will be males
ranging from the age of 13-18, this is because males may feel
embarrassed buying a magazine that is meant for girls, however,
when their sister, girlfriend or friend leaves it lying around and they
pick it up and give it a read, they will realise that it is a really good
magazine.
10. D E M O G R A P H I C
• The demographic for my product is people who love
country stars and people who would like to be like
them. These are people who absolutely country music
and country stars.
11. S I M I L A R P R O D U C T
• An example of a product similar to mine is Maverick,
however, this is more likely to be read by american
fans and older fans. In contrast to this, I would like to
see my magazine to become widespread across the
UK and then see it break other countries after the
success it creates in the UK, it will also be aimed at
mainly teenagers.

• Within my research, I have been looking at the biggest
stars in the country music world that I can re-create in
my own magazine. These are names such as: Miranda
Lambert, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Blake
Shelton and Billy Rae-Cyrus. These people are all
massive country idols and are idolised everyday by
thousands upon thousands of teenagers.
13. I D E A L R E A D E R
• The ideal reader for my product is somebody who
aspires to be like Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift or
Carrie Underwood. These are people who love country
music and love these stars. They will model their hair
and clothes based on what their favourite stars look
like. The ideal reader is somebody who is up to date
with their country music taste as my magazine will have
only up to date country music stars in it. The ideal
reader will be constantly aware of who the biggest stars
in the country music world are in the here and now.
