There are 5 main themes of geography: location, which includes absolute and relative location; place, which has human and physical characteristics; human-environment interaction, which looks at how humans, plants, and animals affect each other and the environment; movement of people, goods, and ideas; and regions, areas defined by common features that distinguish them.
