Belly Dance History
The style, Belly Dance, is typically misunderstood to be aimed toward entertaining men. Belly Dance
is typically performed by a women. It involves undulating movements of the stomach and rapid moves
of the hips. It is almost normal to a girls muscle and bone structure. It is articulated in the torso rather
than in the legs and or feet. The most difficult part is isolating different parts of the body, moving them
on their own in patterns moving together. It is generally performed without shoes, helping with
connecting between the dancer and the earth. Belly dance has a spiritual connection that links between
the body and mind. It helps the dancer become one with themselves and let the dance speak through
them. There are many different forms ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the fact that belly dance was originated in the Middle East and Northeastern Africa, belly
dancing music involves the cultural of the different areas. Therefore you would typically hear
Egyptian and Middle Eastern pop, and traditional Saidi rhythms, and even Hindi music. Music plays a
huge role in a belly dance performance. Certain instruments are put together to create a beat for a
specific dance. There is a large variety of instruments that are used to make a belly dance music set.
This consists of traditional as well as a few new instruments such as percussions, strings, and wind
instruments. A few main instruments that are used are the Dumbek, which is a goblet shaped drum, the
Kanoun, a string instruments which is like a harp, and the Kawala, a flute made from reeds. Making
music for this dance is very articulate but can also be easily manipulated, yet it is the thing that drives

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Virus Spreading
The main aim of this research is to analyze different approaches to the problem of virus spreading and
propose new methods which are based on the comprehensive analysis of previous solutions. This
paper outlines pros and cons of three models such as susceptible infected susceptible (SIS),
susceptible infected removed (SIR) and susceptible inflected removed antidotal (SIRA). From this
survey we could make a conclusion that all existing models mentioned above are appropriate for
computer network protection from the virus spreading problem. However, all these approaches have a
number of disadvantages. So, in terms of lack of safety in computers protection from virus spreading
new solutions should be found.

Background. In my final graduation work, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In previous works researchers have frequently used epidemiological models for modeling the
dynamics of computer virus spreading. Nowadays there are two main mathematical approaches, as
described in [3]. The first one is deterministic model which is based on differential equations and is
suited for large networks, for instance, global Internet network. Another approach is stochastic model
that employ Markov chains and diffusion processes. This method suits better small local computer
networks and in my work I will focused mainly on this approach. In words, Markov chain is the
sequence of random events with a finite or countable number of outcomes, characterized by the
property that, for a fixed present the future does not depend on the past. So, from the theoretical side,
this approach will be the most suitable and urgent for modeling this kind of system, because all time
moments between different conditions of the system would be distributed with Poison distribution.
That is why in my work I decided to use stochastic model approach based on Markov

Making My Fashion Dreams Become A Reality
Growing up surrounded by historical landmarks, creative arts, and Southern charm, I have always
been an admirer of fashion and beauty. When I was a young child of five years, I would continually
play dress up and dream of becoming a Fashionista that assists movie stars and social elite for their
red carpet appearances. I wanted to contribute to others in seeing the beauty in themselves and the
world around them. After about eighteen years, nothing has really changed within my mind set. Today,
I still dream of working in the fashion industry, but more importantly, making a difference in the
world. In the process of making my fashion dreams become a reality, at seventeen, I secured
enrollment at Northeast Mississippi Community College majoring in fashion merchandising. My first
two years at junior college were wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the arts, being
the Captain of the Tiger Dancers and Pom Squad, playing as a member of the tennis team, and
supporting Prentiss county as Miss Hospitality 2013. These years taught me time management like no
other while also leading me down the path of self expression and competitiveness. Finding immense
knowledge and encouragement from professors in little classrooms and civilians in a small Mississippi
town perfected my willingness to strive to do my utmost best in every circumstance, whether it be
reaching my goals or helping others. Attending Northeast Mississippi Community College opened for
me a world of

Rhetoric, Paideia and the Phaedrus Essay
Rhetoric, Paideia and the Phaedrus
ABSTRACT: Some of the notorious interpretive puzzles of the Phaedrus arise from reading it in terms
of a static version of mimesis; hence, the concerns about its apparent failure to enact its own norms
and the status of its own self commentaries. However, if the dialogue is read in the light of the more
dynamic model of a perfectionist paideia that is, Plato s portrayal of Socrates as attempting to woo
Phaedrus to philosophy (with only partial success) is itself a rhetorical attempt to woo the appropriate
reader then many of the puzzles fall into place as part of the rhetorical strategy. The apparent lack of
formal unity arises out of Phaedrus own deficiencies; the written dialogue turns out ... Show more

Rutherford goes on to propose that the Phaedrus is concerned with a vital choice Phaedrus must make,
... concerned with love being properly read in part as a conversation dialogue, presenting the process
of Phaedrus turning to philosophy (1995: p. 248 9); thus we see Socrates as a lover wooing Phaedrus
to philosophy. (p. 247)
On this account, Socrates enacts in the dialogue the different varieties of good madness expounded in
the Palinode (p. 262), and the latter exemplifies the rhetorical and persuasive skills which Socrates
requires of the true orator in the second half of the dialogue (p. 257). However, Socrates himself
acknowledges (265b) that he has not in fact produced a perfect and uniform work such as that he
describes as the ideal , and Rutherford suggests that the same is true of Plato s achievement (or
deliberate underachievement) in the Phaedrus as a whole . This feature both points to the
imperfections of the written word, to the unfinished nature of this, and every, treatment of philosophic
themes, and also to the complex and non simple natures of the participants . (p. 266) Phaedrus himself
is complex and divided . We recall that Phaedrus response to the Palinode is principally aesthetic, ...
he does not question Socrates about the conclusions he reached (p. 258). So if the second half as a
whole seems to

The native people of Canada were no given equal rights, respect and even importance as that

white settlers and it was decided to take their land without showering blood or any type s

public infrastructure and even some land was taken for making schools for the children.

Habituation of Exploratory Behavior in Rats
Abstract
This study investigated the effects of displaced objects and spatial reorganization on habituation of
exploratory behavior. The subjects, rats, each individually spent 5 minutes in an open field for 6 trials.
Throughout the study, exploratory behavior was measured in the number of contacts the subject made,
the number of ambulations, and contact time (seconds). Trials 1 5 were mainly used to familiarize the
subject with its surroundings, naturally leading to decreasing amounts of exploratory behavior. Trial 6
involves the same routine, except displaced objects are introduced in an attempt to renew exploratory
behavior and promote the building up of environmental maps and representations. Additionally, the
measured behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this present study, behavior tests were used in order to determine the likelihood of renewed
exploratory behavior in a familiar environment after the introduction of displaced objects.
Additionally, renewed exploratory behavior seems to play a critical role in building environmental
maps, leading to the integration of new spatial relationships Poucet et al. (1986).
The primary aim of this experiment was to determine if rats would gain a renewal of exploratory
behavior due to displaced objects after habituation had settled in. Based on results from these
previously mentioned experiments, we hypothesized that subjects were capable of renewing
exploratory behavior in a spatially reorganized environment. However, this was under the assumption
that complications such as age and species type were inapplicable.
Method
Subjects
The subjects were Sprague Dawley male rats. Their age is 150 days. The supplier is Harlan Sprague
Dawley. They are maintained on a 12:12 h light/dark cycle and are provided with ad libitum access to
food.
Apparatus
Materials include an open field (OF) apparatus with a 6x6 grid drawn on the inside. Three objects, a
coca cola can, a plastic cylindrical container with rocks inside, and a plastic bear shaped bottle were
used as the objects.
Procedure
The study period included one week of familiarization and a second week devoted to experimentation.

The Czech Republic has its roots as a former communist state known as Czechoslovakia. The fall of
communism and the transformation to a democratic government has seasoned this country s history.
From the Velvet Revolution in 1989 to the charismatic leadership of the poet Vaclav Havel, the Czech
Republic has developed well in the European cultures (Katz 2008). The Czech Republic ... Show more

Rugged individualism is a characteristic of many Americans and politicians. The Czech Republic, on
the other hand, score much lower score on individualism, and tend to value the mentality that we are
in this together. This can be seen in their different types of advertising in their country. Their
advertising constantly appeals to family happiness, togetherness, and friendship focusing on groups of
people enjoying life together (Taylor, 2002).
Masculinity is a dimension that characterizes a culture s tendency toward valuing competition and
success defined by winning at whatever the challenge, or the culture s value of caring of others and
quality of life. A high masculinity score would be the former and a lower masculinity score would be
the latter. The Czech Republic and the U.S. have a very similar score here (Hofstede amp; Hofstede,
2005). They are both right in the middle of the scale and can be categorized as having a good balance
between competition and striving to be on top as the winner, and caring for others along the way.
Uncertainty avoidance is a dimension that captures a society s way that they deal with ambiguity. The
anxiety of an unknown future can lead to a societal out pour that creates beliefs or institutions to try to
avoid this anxiety (Hofstede amp; Hofstede, 2005). In the Czech Republic, the older generations tend
to want to avoid uncertainty and are reluctant to take risks. This can most likely

Summary Of Ayn Rand s Theory Of Rational Selfishness
I agree with Ayn Rand s theory of Rational Selfishness and with how she depicts altruism in terms of
the false idea of benevolence and the actuality of the true concept of self sacrifice. Before reading this
chapter of Rand s book, I labelled myself as an altruist, because I was raised under the false
interpretation of altruism, I believed it was about giving to those who were in need, even if that meant
you had to do without for the time being. My definition of selfishness was society s misunderstood
definition, living and operating only to accomplish and fulfill my desire. In the article, The Ethics of
Benign Selfishness by Tibor R. Machan he discusses the prominence of altruism and states that one of
the reasons why it is so commonly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s not wrong to want to nurture my humanity and survive. The moral code of selfishness does not
support an individual who only focuses on themselves without the care for the interests and wellbeing
of others nor does it promote a deficiency in self care. Since the entire universe is connected, no man
can operate as an island, human survival involves taking care of one s own well being as well as your
neighbors. So, self interest could never be the motivation for the actions and choices made by all
individuals because then society wouldn t progress. As Midgley said, it is one aspect of life; but in my
opinion, the motivation behind our actions and choices, is

Analysis Of The Clean Air Act ( Caa ) Essay
1. Introduction
Fairfax County, Virginia is located just west of Washington, DC (DC) and is considered part of the
Metropolitan Baltimore Washington Region. Located along the mid Atlantic coast, Fairfax County is a
temperate climate with four distinctive seasons and has an average of 42 inches of rain per year. Land
use in Fairfax County consists of a mix of commercial, residential, and industrial uses. As the
population continues to increase, available land area has decreased, which has contributing to urban
sprawl and decreased air quality (Fairfax County, 2014). With rapid growth in the county, the
transportation sectors have expanded increasing the amount of mobile sources for air pollution from
both within the county and from outside the county. Air quality in Fairfax County has been improving;
however, the county and the region have yet to meet federal air quality standards for 8 hour ozone and
particle matter.
2. Environmental Air Quality Issue
The Clean Air Act (CAA) was amended in 1990 to include the National Ambient Air Quality
Standards (NAAQS) for pollutants considered harmful to public health and the environment (U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency [EPA], 2014). Fairfax County and the DC metropolitan area are
designated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a moderate non attainment area for
the eight hour ozone standard established by the NAAQS (Fairfax County, 2014). In addition to non
attainment for ground level ozone, particle matter

Thomas Edison And The Light Bulb Essay
Everyone in their lifetime has heard the name Thomas Edison at least once. However, if you asked
those same people why Thomas Edison was so famous, ninety percent of the time they would tell you
it was because he invented the light bulb, and each of them would be completely wrong. Thomas
Edison did not invent the light bulb; in fact, someone had the idea for it almost one hundred years
before Mr. Edison was even born. To invent something means to come up with the idea in the first
place, as well as to actually carry it out.
In this paper I will give you insights into the life of Thomas Edison and explain why people get
confused in thinking the light bulb was his idea. He also had several other interesting experiments, and
we will take a look at what people thought of them. I believe Thomas Edison is one of the greatest
minds that have ever existed on planet earth, and the rest of this paper will be devoted to showing you
why this is true.
If one stopped and thought about all the amazing and wonderful inventions that this world has ever
seen, what would be number one on that list? Most people in today s world would probably say items
that they use on a daily basis. If we made a list of what some people might say, it might include such
things as automobiles, their new iPhone, advancements in medicine, heaters, air conditioning, power
tools, gaming systems, IPods, etc., and the list could go on and on.

Everything is bigger in Texas. That s what a lot of Texans what Americans and people around the

Interstate plan for the country and implemented new roads in almost every single state, it was the
largest engineering feat in the modern world. Now, almost half a century later, Governor Rick Perry is
set to break that record, with the costliest, largest, and most incredible sized proportion Texas Trans

Laredo contains 40% of the United States land ship import traffic. Also, any traveler on the I 35
corridor in Texas runs into hundreds of eighteen wheelers, increasing drivers awareness and causing
disarray for drivers who are trying to see the road in front of them. Perry s answer is to shift the traffic
away from metropolitan areas. If truck drivers can bypass San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas, the time to
their destination would probably save them an entire day in travel. Freight rail services could veer
away from San Antonio s railroad yard, an institution bustling with activity in the wee hours of the
morning. Also, commuter rail can solve environmental problems and help families keep in touch
anywhere in the state without the over burdening costs of driving (Perry). Perry s plan begins with the
setup itself: Six, twelve foot vehicle passenger lanes in which the vehicle can travel at 80 miles per
hour; Four, thirteen foot truck lanes; Two tracks for each of the following railroad establishments high
speed rail, commuter rail, and freight rail. No transportation facility exists like this in the modern
world. All of these integrations to modern society are completely bundled into one, and their concept
is all the same relieve traffic in urban centers and create a safe and enjoyable experience through the

Questions On Options And Options
â‘¢ Options
Options are traded both on exchanges and in the over the counter market. There are two types of
option which are call option, giving the holder the right to buy the underlying asset by a certain date
for a certain price, and put option, giving the holder the right to sell the underlying asset by a certain
date for a certain price, while both the counter parties only have obligations (usually the speculators).
Apart from that, depending on the expiration date, American options can be exercised at any time up
to the expiration date while European options can be exercised only on the maturity itself. Because of
the right that options provide to the holder to decide whether or not to exercise the contract, there is a

â‘£ Swaps
Swaps now occupy a position of central importance in over the counter derivatives market. The
statistics produced by the Bank for International Settlements show that about 58.5% of all over the
counter derivatives are interest rate swaps and a further 4% are currency swaps. A swap is an over the
counter agreement between two parties to exchange cash flows in the future. The agreement defines
the dates when the cash flows are to be paid and the way in which they are to be calculated. Usually
the calculation of the cash flows involves the future value of an interest rate, an exchange rate, or
other market variable. The most popular (plain vanilla) interest rate swap is one where LIBOR is
exchanged for a floating rate of interest. In this swap, one party agrees to pay the other party interest at
a fixed rate on a notional principal for a number of years. In return, it receives interest at a floating
rate on the same notional principal for the same period of time. Principal amounts are not usually
exchanged in the interest rate swap.
Take another popular swap as an interpretation for hedging and speculation, which is currency swap.
In its simplest form, this involves paying interest on a principal amount in one currency and receiving
interest on a principal in another currency.

Wide Sargasso Se The Intersection Of English And British...
Jean Rhys s novel Wide Sargasso Sea centers on the intersection of English and British colonial
cultures through the union of Rochester and Antoinette Cosway. Rochester represents patriarchal and
imperialist Victorian values, which Mary Lou Emery suggests thrive in part on distinctions
between...legitimate and illegitimate sexuality, madness and reason, primitive and civilized behavior,
[and] fiction and fact (428). Antoinette threatens these supposedly objective distinctions in her
emotional ( Afraid of what? ... Of nothing, of everything! (Rhys 45)) and intellectual ( Not slaves.
Something must have happened a long time ago. Nobody remembers now. (Rhys 39)) uncertainty,
which reflect the ambivalence of colonial, specifically black, culture towards English reason and fact.
Antoinette s most glaring dualities, however, appear in her subversion of racial and sexual
conventions, and Rochester ultimately perceives her as mad because these ambiguous identities
confuse the essentialist binary systems that patriarchal and imperialist ideologies derive from, and
with them his understanding of reality. The most obvious binary in Wide Sargasso Sea is the
black/white racial binary. Imperialism holds race to be one dimensional and static, and distinguishes
only between two racial groups: white English colonists and black former slaves. This simplistic racial
dichotomy cannot account for the multi faceted reality of race in the West Indies, however, and is
problematized when

Television s Influence On Television
Throughout history television has seen many changes such as improved acting, special effects,
graphics, camera work, ideas, and many other changes. Cop/Investigation shows are the focus of his
paper. Investigation shows in particular have become more in depth and realistic. During the 60 s
television exploded. There was 245 million TV sets in American homes. At the time, that was more
TV sets than people in the United States. With all the turmoil with the JFK assassination, early stages
of the Vietnam War, the lifestyle of Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll and others, television was used to
reach out to people. During the 70 s television began to become even more popular because people
started liking it more and people were able to afford it. That changed the way television was
represented and what was on television. Cop shows from these two era s started getting more realistic.
Crime, cop, or investigation shows in the 70 s are more realistic than those shows of the 60 s. In the 60
s shows like I Spy , and Adam 12 started to turn up. Starting in 1965 I Spy is about a pair of
intelligence agents that go on secret missions around the world as a response to James Bond Movies.
A pair of American agents faces espionage adventures with skill, humor and some serious questions

Portugal And Brazil Essay
Both Brazil and Portugal share an intense bond with Africa. Portugal held African colonies since the
era of overseas exploration. The first violent occupation from the Portuguese took place in Ceuta in
1415, in the north of the African continent, however, the real discovery of the continent took place
little over the 15th century, expanding also to the Latin America (Brazil) and Asia (China and India).
In the 17th century, the British, French and Deutsch expelled the Portuguese from the best coastal
areas in order to pursue the slave trade. Portugal and Spain kept some of the old colonies like Angola,

E.E. Cummings and His Wondrous Works
Edward Estlin Cummings was born on October 14, 1894 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cummings
began writing his poems as early as ten years old. His unique ideas and various poetic devices that
were included in his poetry induced him to be one of the most remembered poets of modern day time.
E.E. Cummings was an intriguing poet that is known for many poetic ideas. Among them, Cummings
was known for his ability to create meaning using structure and his avant garde approach towards
language. In his work, Cummings experimented radically with form, punctuation, spelling and syntax,
which caused him to abandon traditional techniques and structures to create a new, highly distinctive
mean of poetic expression. By introducing this new innovative writing style, Cummings has
influenced thousands of poets to carry on with his expression, which is what he had hoped for.
The wide range of writing style that Cummings included while composing his poems gave him the
title of originality. While some of his poetry is free verse (with no concern for rhyme or meter), many
have a recognizable sonnet structure of 14 lines, with an intricate rhyme scheme. E.E. Cummings
poem, Fame Speaks, is an example of one of his more formal poems. The rhyme scheme is an
example of a petrarchan sonnet. The sonnet Fame Speaks talks about how E.E. Cummings wants to be
remembered as a great poet and not forgotten in the future. On the other hand, a number of his poems
feature a typographically cheerful style,

adjudication; thus, the required investment can be partially offset by cost reductions in these activities.
AI Technology Selection and Technical Requirements The AI technologies that should be integrated
are as follows: 1. Machine learning: to analyze vast amounts of data and provide insights 2. Natural
language processing and generation: both for customer interaction (chatbots) and to translate insight
into human readable recommendations 3. Chatbots solutions: to help users to navigate website and
mobile apps more effectively Some technical considerations are: 1. Platform: whether to implement
the solution using open source platforms or partner with AI vendors including evaluation of
requirements such as customization, speed and in house knowledge as well as the integration of the
required parallel processing into existing infrastructure. Other considerations include platform
scalability and performance. 2. Subject Matter Experts: SMEs are key to evaluate algorithms and
ensure recommendations are fact based and not subject to biases. Additionally, process experts need to
identify exposed business processes and what are the key parameters to enhance customer experience.
In both cases, they should participate in POCs to assess vendors and products 3. Technology Experts:

Pablo Escobar Research Paper
Although Pablo was seen as an enemy to the US and the Colombian government he was recognized as
a hero to the poor population of Medellin and this would be a major contributor to the long lasting
success of his cartel. Pablo would constantly promote his Robinhood image to the poor with generous
donations and civic projects such as building youth sports complexes and housing for the poor. These
projects gave him massive popularity among the population and the people of Medellin would return
the favor by serving as look out for him and helping him evade the police.
Eventually Pablo Escobar s luck ran out. He was tracked down and surrounded by the Colombian
police. The police offered him optimal prison condition if decides to surrender and Pablo eventually
took this deal not long after it was presented. Pison basically became a luxurious resort for Pablo, it
include a jacuzzi, waterfall, football field, and multiple TVs. He also maintained contact with his
cartel and after weeks of delicate planning he escaped prison and he will live the rest of his life on the

Personal Narrative Essay On Homer s Odyssey
This was the most action packed day of Daryn s life. He had been playing baseball for a couple years
now. He had really enjoyed it and loved playing the game. Today was the middle of the season for the
Trojans. He felt today, something bad was going to happen. His stomach was flipping from side to
side. Nerves were getting to him and he was starstruck. Daryn showed up to the game feeling
nauseous because he was nervous. In his mind he was thinking, Daryn, it s gonna be good. It s all
gonna fine fine. The team sat in the dugout until 15 minutes before the game started. The Trojans went
out and did their warm ups. As they were doing warm ups, Daryn happened to be looking at

Coach came over and asked, Are you okay? What happened!? So Daryn told him the entire story.
After he was done talking, the coach ran up to the concession stand to get some ice. When he arrived
with the ice, Daryn was still sitting on the bench. Then coach started telling Daryn that he is not gonna
be able to play the second game. Daryn was always a second game player because he wasn t as good

game.
The most embarrassing part was the moment he had to tell his father. He hoped his dad had to work
that day because he didn t want his dad to see him like this. When his dad got to the game, Daryn
decided just to go up and tell him. His dad was concerned of what happened so that settled Daryn
down a little bit. Coach filled Daryn s dad in on the situation then sat back down in the dugout.
Fortunately, he was fine, it was just a black eye. But, he also had a chance of not being able to play.

Two anoles on different islands can have similar traits as long as their ecological niches are similar,
however geographic isolation was the cause to have 3 different species evolving. They might have
evolved by having swam, floated on natural rafts, or the islands may have been connected at one
point. Therefore, lizards on the same island are more closely related to each other than lizards that
have similar body shapes and live in the same type of habitat. Lizards from the same island are more
closely related to one another than to similar looking lizards from other islands. For example, a grass
bush anole from Puerto Rico is more related a trunk ground anole also from Puerto Rico, than it is to a
grass bush anole from Hispaniola. This shows that the same type of anole lizards evolve
independently on each of the islands. However, there was a point in time whereas the anole species
from the four Caribbean islands all evolved from one common ancestor. The cladogram produced
shows that species from separate islands and ecomorphs, for example the A. cybotes from Hispaniola
and the A. occultus from Puerto Rico, are more closely related to each other than they are to L.

Information Processing Techniques Office At D.a
Introduction
From its inception in the early 60 s the Internet was used to send information, this was pioneered by
the computer scientist J.C.R. Licklider of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He conceived the
idea of a network of interconnected computers which would allow data and other information to be
shared no matter the location. This led him to be appointed head of the Information Processing
Techniques Office at D.A.R.P.A. (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) then called A.R.P.A.
While there he convinced his successors and fellow M.I.T. researcher Lawrence G Roberts that his
work was important and that it should continue.
In 1964 Roberts and another M.I.T. Alumni Leonard Kleinrock devised a system of communications
using packets rather than circuits (this was the first step to actual computer networking). In 1965 while
working alongside Thomas Merrill, Roberts manged to connect his computer in Massachusetts to
another in California, thus creating the world s first W.A.N. (Wide Area Network).
By 1966 Roberts went to D.A.R.P.A. and quickly set about devising the ARPANET with Licklider.
This was greenlighted and by the early 1970 s technology had caught up with the dreams of it s
visionaries. The ARPANET itself laid the foundations to which we now know as the Internet and had
pioneered the use of electronic mail, data transfer and networking between computers. Soon similar
systems became more readily available and were offered to N.A.S.A., the

The Impact Of Technology On Change Management
This presentation is about the use of technology in change management. We will review how
technology facilitates changes management. Then recommend best practice for changing management.
This presentation begins by analyzing the report by Mondal (2011) called Entrepreneurship in U.S.
Auto Industry: Ford Stay Ahead. Henry Ford is the founder of Ford Motor Company. As a successful
entrepreneur Ford s practice included technological innovation for cost cutting measure, introduction
of new products, expansion of new market and created new economic organization. Using Schumpeter
s five factor model we will analyze entrepreneurship around innovation.
Ford s Technology in Change Management
In Ford s initial years, innovation technology was used to remodel the most popular model cars; this
increase profit for the business. It used to take Ford 14 hours to build the T model car; he reduced
labor cost using a time known as mass production method. This method reduced the assembly time to1
hr. 33 minutes. This innovation technology reduced labor cost for the new Model T (Mondal, 2011).
Entrepreneur take risk: by creating new products, adapts to new production process, create new
market, and create new technology and economic for an organization. According to Michaelides
Kardasi (2010) development depends upon innovation. This concept includes an introduction of new
goods, new methods of production; the opening of a new market, conquest of a new source of supply
and carries out

Janie As A Woman
The novel presents a story of an African American woman, Janie Crawford. It shows her struggle in
which she fights for acceptance and a sense of security. Throughout the novel, her growth into
womanhood is presented. At the beginning, Janie is depicted as a shy and withdrawn woman who is
not inclined to speak about her emotions and feelings. Her voice is often stifled, and, as a result, she
remains unheard and unnoticed. She feels that her community ignores her. She could not define herself
as a woman, and, in turn her inner self is not integral (Fard Zarrinjooee, 2014). Miller writes that
Janie`s character can be considered as a canonical figure from the feminism`s point of view because of
the fact that she wants to free herself from men`s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only in this way can she manage to gain her self actualization (Miller, 2004).
In the course of time, Janie becomes a self confident woman. Importantly, because of her experiences,
she learns that, in order to fight for her own happiness; she has to make her voice heard. In their
article, Fard and Zarrinjooee state that in the course of time, the protagonist begins to accept her
blackness (2014: 94). This argument coincides with the following passage in the novel in which Janie
refers to her skin color and her identity: Where is me? Ah Don`t see me and Ah`m colored (Their Eyes
Were Watching God, 1990: 9).
In the novel, this transition is symbolized by means of a recurrent symbol the mule which refers to the
moments of speech and silence. Whenever Janie remains silent, the image of the mule appears, while
in the moments in which she takes action the mule disappears (Haurykiewicz, 1997:46). Before the
close analysis, it is worth focusing here on the symbolism in the novel. As a matter of fact, the mule
does not appear in Their Eyes Were Watching God for the first time. There are two short stories
published by Hurston before the novel in which the mule functions as a symbol: The Bone of

Rebellion In Romeo And Juliet
One would believe that teenage rebellion is a common theme through literary, cinematic, and musical
elements of our society due to the relatability of the situations that their acts of defiance have created.
The acts of rebellion by the two protagonists in Romeo and Juliet can be compared to many other
works in popular literature and media. Two samples that illustrate these ideas of disobedience are the
popular movie The Titanic and the young adult novel The Selection.
In works emphasizing acts of disobedience in adolescence, most people can learn lessons holding
moral value. In novel The Selection, Kiera Cass demonstrates rebellion through creating a love
triangle between a America, a teenage girl selected for a chance to marry a prince, the man she should
marry, and a man in a lower caste than her, which means she is prohibited from marrying him (Cass).
However, she falls in love with the man who is in a lower caste than her, which means that she is
rebelling against her society and the opportunity that she has received to marry into royalty (Cass).
Much like The Selection, William Shakespeare s tragic play Romeo and Juliet, shows many of the
same characteristics. Juliet Capulet s predicament, paralleling America s, is that she was arranged to
marry a man named Paris, but she falls in love with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

CCA OTIC GEL CCA Otic Gel is a bioadhesive, thermoreversible poloxamer gel. Various
medications can be incorporated into the gel to provide therapeutic effects. At cold temperatures, it
remains a liquid, however, at room temperature, it converts into a gel. When CCA Otic Gel is
administered in the liquid form, it transforms to a gel which contours and adheres to the ear canal.
Consequently, the length of time the medication is in contact with the affected areas is prolonged. A
1.5ml liquid dose applied in each affected ear transforms into a bioadhesive gel layer on the surface of
the ear canal in approximately 3 to 4 seconds. Additionally, this gel will keep the medication in
contact with the affected areas for 5 7 days. Typically

The Diversity Of Black Americans
Diversity is now, more than ever before, at the forefront of the American conversation. Black people
have been slowly but surely making gains in today s society and in ways that were not possible before.
African Americans are more educated and more affluent, and more important as consumers than ever
before. By 2017, they are expected to have a spending power of 1.3 trillion dollars (Resilient, 2013).
Young, influential, and brand loyal, this group should be the target of many companies. Interestingly
enough, there has not been much of an effort on the part of marketers to appeal to this growing group.
Additionally, the lack of diversity as well as the alienation of black people in the media is not doing
much to allow a wider range of companies to reach them. Black Americans are a powerful group, and
smart marketers will put a focus on investing in them to increase their market share.
It is important that people learning about the black customer understand the diversity of the black
population in America. Since 1990, the black immigrant population has nearly doubled, with 3.8
million living in the country now. This is almost 9% of the black population. This is only going to
continue by 2060, the U.S. Census predicts that one out of six U.S. blacks...will be immigrants
(Increasingly Affluent, 2015, p. 12). This is important from a marketing standpoint this group of

When Can Babies Eat Honey?
Honey is a natural substance produced by bees and popularly consumed by humans for health reasons.
Aside from being useful as a remedy for asthma, cough, hay fever, stomach problems and diarrhea,
honey is also delightful to the taste. Parents may want to allow their babies to experience new tastes,
such as that of honey, but health experts warn that the proper time to introduce honey to young babies
must be considered because serious side effects may occur when it is given too early.
When Can Babies Eat Honey?
Many cultures believe in the health benefits of honey and allow their babies to eat it early in their
lives. However, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises parents not to give their babies
raw or unpasteurized honey if they are younger than 12 months old. It should not be added to water,
formula or food, including processed or baked goods. This also includes beverages, bread or cereals
that may be sweetened with honey. This may be a conservative guideline but it is worth considering
and discussing with your baby s doctor (pediatrician).
Why Is Honey Unsafe for Your Babies?
1. Why is honey unsafe for your babies?
The main reason for delaying the introduction of honey to a baby s diet is that it can cause infant
botulism. This condition is caused by the ingestion of Clostridium botulinum spores. This type of
bacteria produces toxins inside the digestive tract and can lead to serious side effects. These include
paralysis of the baby s muscles, which can also

Even though it is, the book teach the charaters how to use magic but actually does not teach the
readers who is children how to do magic. It is natural for kids to think like becoming a wizard like
Harry Potter and imagine going to Hogwart but those books do not lead children to follow magic.
Also, if they read the book they know that only those chosen who is born magical can become a
wizard. Next, the main story line is Harry developing his ability and talent like learning magic and
fight for evil. Because there are charaters like Harry who use magic in good way and fight for evil
while characters like Voldmort who use magic in dark ways and becoming immortal. In the end,
Voldmort is beaten by Harry. This story will effect children not to use their talent and ability they
developed in evil way. This is second reason why Harry Potter affects kids in a good way. Third
reason is that the characters in the book do not act like kids in the real world these days. There are a
lot of children these days stuck in house only holding iPod or computer, not playing with their friends
outside. But Harry, unlike those children in the real world, reached out to others, formed friendships,
followed the advice of mentors, achieved his aim by cooperating with his friends and generally grew

Social Work Intervention

School social work and its purpose is first discussed in Chapter 3. Before 21st century we are not sure
why it did not have formal position. However, in order to demise child labor and include cultural
sensitivity for immigrants; school social work began to take its form (Jarolmen, 2014). The school
social worker has been charged with lifelong learning to increase professional development,
awareness of local, state and federal laws; as well as the position to link services to students, families
and co educators. This practice behavior will allow the school social worker to ensure that every child

an intervention used to deter negative behavior of a student demonstrating signs of behavior disorder
even before it becomes a problem (Merchant, Anderson, Caldarelli, Young, Young, 2009 as cited in

as the Functional Behavior Assessment . The Functional Behavior Assessment is used to develop a

The Corporate Side Of American Public Education And The...
Diane Ravitch explores the corporate side of American public education and the reformists misled
beliefs that the school system is in crisis. The school reforms in place are disguised as a means of
improving public education, when in reality it has become an objective to replace public education
with a privately managed, free market system of schooling (Ravitch, p.4). Diane Ravitch supports her
claim that the reformation movement has poor intentions with multiple sources of evidence. Among
these facts she uncovers the truth behind test scores and the achievement gap. Furthermore, Ravitch
exposes how the reform movement is a back door way to privatize schooling with monetary motives
in mind. In response to these problems, Diane ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another reality that Diane Ravitch sheds light on is the misconstrued theories about the achievement
gap. Reformers often say that African American and Hispanic students have not made progress for
decades (Ravitch, p.55). However, after looking at the data from NAEP, it is evident that this assertion
by the reformers just simply is not true. Rather, these students have shown dramatic increases in math.
Many do not recognize this though because white achievement has also improved which keeps the gap
at large. (Ravitch, p.56) Throughout different grades, African Americans and Hispanics have shown
remarkable progress in mathematics. There has been improvement in reading as well, just not as
dramatic as the progress shown in math. Ravitch states, Today s reformers often imply that schools
alone can close the achievement gaps among different groups. The like to point to exemplary charter
schools with high test scores to prove their point (Ravitch, p.59). While the belief that a charter school
could bridge the achievement gap and overcome the disadvantages of poverty, it simply is not a
realistically feasible concept. Thomas B. Timar of the University of California states, Yet the gap is
the symptom of larger social, economic and political problems that go far beyond the reach of the
school... While schools are part of the solution, they alone cannot solve the problem of educational

Yoichi was the servant of Murakami and Murakami of Akiyama, Togan a cook for Akiyama s lower
class servants, and the Charcoal Burner Family a poor family contempt with helping Murakami. They
were better leaders than the people in charge, who were supposed to be leaders/ lead.
The charcoal burner family was very kind, helpful, and were content with helping Murakami. They
gave him one of the best spots in their house, fed him, and welcomed him although they were poor. I
was made welcome and given warm food and a place near the brazier. (p.218). Giving the best you
can give to another person, is portrayed in this. It s important to want the best for others so that you
can try understanding them more, instead of trying to overcome them. They also insisted on protecting
him on his way to Lord Akiyama s father s home. Sending their eldest son, even, to accompany him.
He loaded their horse with bags of charcoal and I hid my swords among them. (p.218). Trying to
protect others is a wonderful leadership skill because the recipient feels safe. And when they feel safe

... thought no woman in Japan to highly placed for me. (p.183) In this quote, Yoichi is very loyal and
encouraging. It is important for a team/leader to encourage each other and not pull each other down
with our words; choose your words to inspire. Faith is also very important in a team/ leader. When
people trust others can do great things, it helps all succeed, because fewer people will be paranoid
about it being too hard. He was so loyal... (p.183) In this quote, Yoichi portrays loyalty. Loyalty is key
in a relationship. Two or more people who have an all way loyalty relationship creates a bridge of
trust. It helps to be a good leader if your relationship with the people that you are working with, does

Christian Persecution In The Early Church
For the third year in a row, the modern persecution of Christians worldwide has hit another record
high according to Christianity Today (Persecution in the Early Church). Right now, it is very
dangerous to be a Christian in some countries of the world. Countries in Asia and the Middle East
show the most violence towards Christians. If history really does repeat itself, Christianity will grow
in numbers and in faith. More people will convert and the religion as a whole will be strengthened.
This current issue can be related to Christian persecution starting in 64 AD which became most
prominent in the Roman Empire. Christians have continued to be persecuted sporadically throughout
history.
Christian persecution is more evident now more than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One instance of the occasional persecution was in 112 AD when Pliny The Younger was the Roman
governor of Bithynia. ...Pliny condemned to immediate execution those who confessed to being
Christians. He believed that Christianity itself was punishable, but the defiant, martyr attitude of the
accused left [him] in no doubt that his action was right (Persecution in the Early Church). He would
give people three chances to deny their beliefs, if they didn t they would be killed. They were sent to
the same torturous deaths as Nero used. Pliny the Younger began to send letters to the Emperor Trajan,
explaining his methods in hopes of approval. In one of his most famous letters, he wrote, Meanwhile,
in the case of those who were denounced to me as Christians, I have observed the following
procedure: I interrogated these as to whether they were Christians; those who confessed I interrogated
a second and a third time, threatening them with punishment; those who persisted I ordered executed
(Pliny on the Christians). Martyrs were very common at this point in time. Granted, people would
deny Christ in order to keep their lives, but many more would hold firm in their beliefs until

Animal Shelter Personal Statement Examples
I am a certified volunteer for the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (the
Animal Shelter ). The primary role and responsibility of an Animal Shelter volunteer is to assist
animal control officers with the handling and presenting of shelter animals to the general public for
potential adoption. The time I ve spent at the Animal Shelter has been extremely rewarding, so much
so that I feel it is a privilege to work for the Animal Shelter. I am fortunate to be able to help and
comfort animals looking for a human and interact with people looking for a new family member.
My interest and passion for helping animals has been with me for as long as I can recall. This interest
stemmed from my love of our family dog and my parents introducing me to the beauty of the animals
in nature. In fact, when I was about 6 years old I innocently and confidently declared to my parents ...

In addition to the typical responsibilities of a volunteer, I ve been fortunate enough to have been
allowed to observe and, to some extent, assist the on site Veterinarian, Dr. Bijula Yusin, with some the
medical procedures conducted at the Animal Shelter. This includes vaccinations, spay and neuter, and
other surgical procedures. To be clear, my participation has been strictly limited to helping with
surgical preparations, but each opportunity to assist or observe has been a great learning experience.
Dr. Yusin and her staff (vet techs Greg and Kathy) have been so helpful and encouraging of my
interests. The first few times I helped prep for surgery there was a lot to learn, so the process went a
little slower than it would have normally. However, the entire staff was always patient, answered all
my questions, and took the time to ensure I was doing all of the steps correctly. I m proud to say my
knowledge and skills grew with each procedure and I gained more confidence in myself and my

Basketball s History And The History Of Basketball
The game of basketball as it is known today was created by Dr. James Naismith in December 1891 in
Springfield, Massachusetts to condition young athletes during cold months. It consisted of peach
baskets and a soccer style ball. The game became established quickly and grew very popular as the
20th century progressed, first in America and then throughout the world. After basketball became
established in American colleges, the professional game followed. The American National Basketball
Association (NBA), established in 1946, grew to a multibillion dollar enterprise by the end of the
century, and basketball became an integral part of American culture. This game is now played by more
than 250 million people worldwide in an organized fashion, as well as by countless others in pick up
games. Basketball originated in 1891 when a future Presbyterian minister named James Naismith was
assigned to teach a physical education class at a Young Men s Christian Association (YMCA) training
school in Springfield, Massachusetts. The first professional league was in 1898. Players that wanted to
play earned $2.50 every home game they played and $1.25 for an away game. A player on the
Washington Bullets which are now called the Washington Wizards, had offers of more than 100
million dollars in over seven seasons on the Washington Bullets and the Miami Heat. A lot of teams in
the NBA now have players from different countries, who return home to represent their native
countries during the Olympic Games. The Dream Team , made u p of the top American professional
players, has stood up for the United States in the recent Olympic Games. In 1996 the Dream Team
trailed some opponents until fairly late in the games an indication of basketball s growing international
status. In Athens 2004, Argentina took the gold medal home. That s the first time a Latin American
country won the basketball honor. The rules to the game of Basketball is that the ball can be thrown in
any direction with one or both hands. The ball may be batted in any direction with one or both hands,
but never with the fist. A player cannot run with the ball. The player must throw it from the spot on
which he catches it, allowance to be made for a man running at good

It involves undulating movements of the stomach and rapid moves of the hips. It is almost normal to a girls muscle and bone structure. It is articulated in the torso rather than in the legs and or feet. The most difficult part is isolating different parts of the body, moving them on their own in patterns moving together. It is generally performed without shoes, helping with connecting between the dancer and the earth. Belly dance has a spiritual connection that links between the body and mind. • 3. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Virus Spreading The main aim of this research is to analyze different approaches to the problem of virus spreading and propose new methods which are based on the comprehensive analysis of previous solutions. This paper outlines pros and cons of three models such as susceptible infected susceptible (SIS), susceptible infected removed (SIR) and susceptible inflected removed antidotal (SIRA). From this survey we could make a conclusion that all existing models mentioned above are appropriate for computer network protection from the virus spreading problem. However, all these approaches have a number of disadvantages. So, in terms of lack of safety in computers protection from virus spreading new solutions should be found. Introduction Background. In my final graduation work, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In previous works researchers have frequently used epidemiological models for modeling the dynamics of computer virus spreading. Nowadays there are two main mathematical approaches, as described in [3]. The first one is deterministic model which is based on differential equations and is suited for large networks, for instance, global Internet network. Another approach is stochastic model that employ Markov chains and diffusion processes. This method suits better small local computer networks and in my work I will focused mainly on this approach. In words, Markov chain is the sequence of random events with a finite or countable number of outcomes, characterized by the property that, for a fixed present the future does not depend on the past. So, from the theoretical side, this approach will be the most suitable and urgent for modeling this kind of system, because all time moments between different conditions of the system would be distributed with Poison distribution. That is why in my work I decided to use stochastic model approach based on Markov ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When I was a young child of five years, I would continually play dress up and dream of becoming a Fashionista that assists movie stars and social elite for their red carpet appearances. I wanted to contribute to others in seeing the beauty in themselves and the world around them. After about eighteen years, nothing has really changed within my mind set. Today, I still dream of working in the fashion industry, but more importantly, making a difference in the world. In the process of making my fashion dreams become a reality, at seventeen, I secured enrollment at Northeast Mississippi Community College majoring in fashion merchandising. My first two years at junior college were wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the arts, being the Captain of the Tiger Dancers and Pom Squad, playing as a member of the tennis team, and supporting Prentiss county as Miss Hospitality 2013. These years taught me time management like no other while also leading me down the path of self expression and competitiveness. Finding immense knowledge and encouragement from professors in little classrooms and civilians in a small Mississippi town perfected my willingness to strive to do my utmost best in every circumstance, whether it be reaching my goals or helping others. • 5. Rhetoric, Paideia and the Phaedrus Essay Rhetoric, Paideia and the Phaedrus ABSTRACT: Some of the notorious interpretive puzzles of the Phaedrus arise from reading it in terms of a static version of mimesis; hence, the concerns about its apparent failure to enact its own norms and the status of its own self commentaries. However, if the dialogue is read in the light of the more dynamic model of a perfectionist paideia that is, Plato s portrayal of Socrates as attempting to woo Phaedrus to philosophy (with only partial success) is itself a rhetorical attempt to woo the appropriate reader then many of the puzzles fall into place as part of the rhetorical strategy. The apparent lack of formal unity arises out of Phaedrus own deficiencies; the written dialogue turns out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rutherford goes on to propose that the Phaedrus is concerned with a vital choice Phaedrus must make, ... concerned with love being properly read in part as a conversation dialogue, presenting the process of Phaedrus turning to philosophy (1995: p. 248 9); thus we see Socrates as a lover wooing Phaedrus to philosophy. (p. 247) On this account, Socrates enacts in the dialogue the different varieties of good madness expounded in the Palinode (p. 262), and the latter exemplifies the rhetorical and persuasive skills which Socrates requires of the true orator in the second half of the dialogue (p. 257). However, Socrates himself acknowledges (265b) that he has not in fact produced a perfect and uniform work such as that he describes as the ideal , and Rutherford suggests that the same is true of Plato s achievement (or deliberate underachievement) in the Phaedrus as a whole . This feature both points to the imperfections of the written word, to the unfinished nature of this, and every, treatment of philosophic themes, and also to the complex and non simple natures of the participants . (p. 266) Phaedrus himself is complex and divided . We recall that Phaedrus response to the Palinode is principally aesthetic, ... he does not question Socrates about the conclusions he reached (p. 258). So if the second half as a whole seems to ... The subjects, rats, each individually spent 5 minutes in an open field for 6 trials. Throughout the study, exploratory behavior was measured in the number of contacts the subject made, the number of ambulations, and contact time (seconds). Trials 1 5 were mainly used to familiarize the subject with its surroundings, naturally leading to decreasing amounts of exploratory behavior. Trial 6 involves the same routine, except displaced objects are introduced in an attempt to renew exploratory behavior and promote the building up of environmental maps and representations. Additionally, the measured behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this present study, behavior tests were used in order to determine the likelihood of renewed exploratory behavior in a familiar environment after the introduction of displaced objects. Additionally, renewed exploratory behavior seems to play a critical role in building environmental maps, leading to the integration of new spatial relationships Poucet et al. (1986). The primary aim of this experiment was to determine if rats would gain a renewal of exploratory behavior due to displaced objects after habituation had settled in. Based on results from these previously mentioned experiments, we hypothesized that subjects were capable of renewing exploratory behavior in a spatially reorganized environment. However, this was under the assumption that complications such as age and species type were inapplicable. Method Subjects The subjects were Sprague Dawley male rats. Their age is 150 days. The supplier is Harlan Sprague Dawley. They are maintained on a 12:12 h light/dark cycle and are provided with ad libitum access to food. Apparatus Materials include an open field (OF) apparatus with a 6x6 grid drawn on the inside. Their advertising constantly appeals to family happiness, togetherness, and friendship focusing on groups of people enjoying life together (Taylor, 2002). Masculinity is a dimension that characterizes a culture s tendency toward valuing competition and success defined by winning at whatever the challenge, or the culture s value of caring of others and quality of life. A high masculinity score would be the former and a lower masculinity score would be the latter. The Czech Republic and the U.S. have a very similar score here (Hofstede amp; Hofstede, 2005). They are both right in the middle of the scale and can be categorized as having a good balance between competition and striving to be on top as the winner, and caring for others along the way. Uncertainty avoidance is a dimension that captures a society s way that they deal with ambiguity. The anxiety of an unknown future can lead to a societal out pour that creates beliefs or institutions to try to avoid this anxiety (Hofstede amp; Hofstede, 2005). Summary Of Ayn Rand s Theory Of Rational Selfishness I agree with Ayn Rand s theory of Rational Selfishness and with how she depicts altruism in terms of the false idea of benevolence and the actuality of the true concept of self sacrifice. Before reading this chapter of Rand s book, I labelled myself as an altruist, because I was raised under the false interpretation of altruism, I believed it was about giving to those who were in need, even if that meant you had to do without for the time being. Introduction Fairfax County, Virginia is located just west of Washington, DC (DC) and is considered part of the Metropolitan Baltimore Washington Region. Located along the mid Atlantic coast, Fairfax County is a temperate climate with four distinctive seasons and has an average of 42 inches of rain per year. Land use in Fairfax County consists of a mix of commercial, residential, and industrial uses. As the population continues to increase, available land area has decreased, which has contributing to urban sprawl and decreased air quality (Fairfax County, 2014). With rapid growth in the county, the transportation sectors have expanded increasing the amount of mobile sources for air pollution from both within the county and from outside the county. Air quality in Fairfax County has been improving; however, the county and the region have yet to meet federal air quality standards for 8 hour ozone and particle matter. 2. • 13. Thomas Edison And The Light Bulb Essay Everyone in their lifetime has heard the name Thomas Edison at least once. However, if you asked those same people why Thomas Edison was so famous, ninety percent of the time they would tell you it was because he invented the light bulb, and each of them would be completely wrong. Thomas Edison did not invent the light bulb; in fact, someone had the idea for it almost one hundred years before Mr. Edison was even born. To invent something means to come up with the idea in the first place, as well as to actually carry it out. In this paper I will give you insights into the life of Thomas Edison and explain why people get confused in thinking the light bulb was his idea. He also had several other interesting experiments, and we will take a look at what people thought of them. I believe Thomas Edison is one of the greatest minds that have ever existed on planet earth, and the rest of this paper will be devoted to showing you why this is true. If one stopped and thought about all the amazing and wonderful inventions that this world has ever seen, what would be number one on that list? Most people in today s world would probably say items that they use on a daily basis. If we made a list of what some people might say, it might include such things as automobiles, their new iPhone, advancements in medicine, heaters, air conditioning, power tools, gaming systems, IPods, etc., and the list could go on and on. Perry s answer is to shift the traffic away from metropolitan areas. If truck drivers can bypass San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas, the time to their destination would probably save them an entire day in travel. Freight rail services could veer away from San Antonio s railroad yard, an institution bustling with activity in the wee hours of the morning. Also, commuter rail can solve environmental problems and help families keep in touch anywhere in the state without the over burdening costs of driving (Perry). There are two types of option which are call option, giving the holder the right to buy the underlying asset by a certain date for a certain price, and put option, giving the holder the right to sell the underlying asset by a certain date for a certain price, while both the counter parties only have obligations (usually the speculators). The statistics produced by the Bank for International Settlements show that about 58.5% of all over the counter derivatives are interest rate swaps and a further 4% are currency swaps. A swap is an over the counter agreement between two parties to exchange cash flows in the future. The agreement defines the dates when the cash flows are to be paid and the way in which they are to be calculated. Usually the calculation of the cash flows involves the future value of an interest rate, an exchange rate, or other market variable. The most popular (plain vanilla) interest rate swap is one where LIBOR is exchanged for a floating rate of interest. In this swap, one party agrees to pay the other party interest at a fixed rate on a notional principal for a number of years. In return, it receives interest at a floating rate on the same notional principal for the same period of time. Principal amounts are not usually exchanged in the interest rate swap. Take another popular swap as an interpretation for hedging and speculation, which is currency swap. In its simplest form, this involves paying interest on a principal amount in one currency and receiving interest on a principal in another currency. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Wide Sargasso Se The Intersection Of English And British... Jean Rhys s novel Wide Sargasso Sea centers on the intersection of English and British colonial cultures through the union of Rochester and Antoinette Cosway. Rochester represents patriarchal and imperialist Victorian values, which Mary Lou Emery suggests thrive in part on distinctions between...legitimate and illegitimate sexuality, madness and reason, primitive and civilized behavior, [and] fiction and fact (428). Antoinette threatens these supposedly objective distinctions in her emotional ( Afraid of what? ... Of nothing, of everything! (Rhys 45)) and intellectual ( Not slaves. Something must have happened a long time ago. Nobody remembers now. (Rhys 39)) uncertainty, which reflect the ambivalence of colonial, specifically black, culture towards English reason and fact. Antoinette s most glaring dualities, however, appear in her subversion of racial and sexual conventions, and Rochester ultimately perceives her as mad because these ambiguous identities confuse the essentialist binary systems that patriarchal and imperialist ideologies derive from, and with them his understanding of reality. The most obvious binary in Wide Sargasso Sea is the black/white racial binary. Imperialism holds race to be one dimensional and static, and distinguishes only between two racial groups: white English colonists and black former slaves. This simplistic racial dichotomy cannot account for the multi faceted reality of race in the West Indies, however, and is problematized when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That changed the way television was represented and what was on television. Cop shows from these two era s started getting more realistic. Crime, cop, or investigation shows in the 70 s are more realistic than those shows of the 60 s. In the 60 s shows like I Spy , and Adam 12 started to turn up. • 22. E.E. Cummings and His Wondrous Works Edward Estlin Cummings was born on October 14, 1894 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cummings began writing his poems as early as ten years old. His unique ideas and various poetic devices that were included in his poetry induced him to be one of the most remembered poets of modern day time. E.E. Cummings was an intriguing poet that is known for many poetic ideas. Among them, Cummings was known for his ability to create meaning using structure and his avant garde approach towards language. In his work, Cummings experimented radically with form, punctuation, spelling and syntax, which caused him to abandon traditional techniques and structures to create a new, highly distinctive mean of poetic expression. By introducing this new innovative writing style, Cummings has influenced thousands of poets to carry on with his expression, which is what he had hoped for. The wide range of writing style that Cummings included while composing his poems gave him the title of originality. While some of his poetry is free verse (with no concern for rhyme or meter), many have a recognizable sonnet structure of 14 lines, with an intricate rhyme scheme. E.E. Cummings poem, Fame Speaks, is an example of one of his more formal poems. The rhyme scheme is an example of a petrarchan sonnet. The sonnet Fame Speaks talks about how E.E. Cummings wants to be remembered as a great poet and not forgotten in the future. On the other hand, a number of his poems feature a typographically cheerful style, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Two anoles on different islands can have similar traits as long as their ecological niches are similar, however geographic isolation was the cause to have 3 different species evolving. They might have evolved by having swam, floated on natural rafts, or the islands may have been connected at one point. Therefore, lizards on the same island are more closely related to each other than lizards that have similar body shapes and live in the same type of habitat. Lizards from the same island are more closely related to one another than to similar looking lizards from other islands. For example, a grass bush anole from Puerto Rico is more related a trunk ground anole also from Puerto Rico, than it is to a grass bush anole from Hispaniola. This shows that the same type of anole lizards evolve independently on each of the islands. However, there was a point in time whereas the anole species from the four Caribbean islands all evolved from one common ancestor. The cladogram produced shows that species from separate islands and ecomorphs, for example the A. cybotes from Hispaniola and the A. occultus from Puerto Rico, are more closely related to each other than they are to L. carinatus, which belongs to a different genus of lizards. Information Processing Techniques Office At D.a Introduction From its inception in the early 60 s the Internet was used to send information, this was pioneered by the computer scientist J.C.R. Licklider of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He conceived the idea of a network of interconnected computers which would allow data and other information to be shared no matter the location. This led him to be appointed head of the Information Processing Techniques Office at D.A.R.P.A. (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) then called A.R.P.A. While there he convinced his successors and fellow M.I.T. researcher Lawrence G Roberts that his work was important and that it should continue. In 1964 Roberts and another M.I.T. Alumni Leonard Kleinrock devised a system of communications using packets rather than circuits (this was the first step to actual computer networking). In 1965 while working alongside Thomas Merrill, Roberts manged to connect his computer in Massachusetts to another in California, thus creating the world s first W.A.N. (Wide Area Network). By 1966 Roberts went to D.A.R.P.A. and quickly set about devising the ARPANET with Licklider. This was greenlighted and by the early 1970 s technology had caught up with the dreams of it s visionaries. Then recommend best practice for changing management. This presentation begins by analyzing the report by Mondal (2011) called Entrepreneurship in U.S. Auto Industry: Ford Stay Ahead. Henry Ford is the founder of Ford Motor Company. As a successful entrepreneur Ford s practice included technological innovation for cost cutting measure, introduction of new products, expansion of new market and created new economic organization. Ford s Technology in Change Management In Ford s initial years, innovation technology was used to remodel the most popular model cars; this increase profit for the business. It used to take Ford 14 hours to build the T model car; he reduced labor cost using a time known as mass production method. This method reduced the assembly time to1 hr. 33 minutes. This innovation technology reduced labor cost for the new Model T (Mondal, 2011). Throughout the novel, her growth into womanhood is presented. At the beginning, Janie is depicted as a shy and withdrawn woman who is not inclined to speak about her emotions and feelings. Her voice is often stifled, and, as a result, she remains unheard and unnoticed. She feels that her community ignores her. She could not define herself as a woman, and, in turn her inner self is not integral (Fard Zarrinjooee, 2014). In their article, Fard and Zarrinjooee state that in the course of time, the protagonist begins to accept her blackness (2014: 94). This argument coincides with the following passage in the novel in which Janie refers to her skin color and her identity: Where is me? Ah Don`t see me and Ah`m colored (Their Eyes Were Watching God, 1990: 9). In the novel, this transition is symbolized by means of a recurrent symbol the mule which refers to the moments of speech and silence. Whenever Janie remains silent, the image of the mule appears, while in the moments in which she takes action the mule disappears (Haurykiewicz, 1997:46). Before the close analysis, it is worth focusing here on the symbolism in the novel. As a matter of fact, the mule does not appear in Their Eyes Were Watching God for the first time. • 31. Rebellion In Romeo And Juliet One would believe that teenage rebellion is a common theme through literary, cinematic, and musical elements of our society due to the relatability of the situations that their acts of defiance have created. The acts of rebellion by the two protagonists in Romeo and Juliet can be compared to many other works in popular literature and media. Two samples that illustrate these ideas of disobedience are the popular movie The Titanic and the young adult novel The Selection. In works emphasizing acts of disobedience in adolescence, most people can learn lessons holding moral value. In novel The Selection, Kiera Cass demonstrates rebellion through creating a love triangle between a America, a teenage girl selected for a chance to marry a prince, the man she should marry, and a man in a lower caste than her, which means she is prohibited from marrying him (Cass). However, she falls in love with the man who is in a lower caste than her, which means that she is rebelling against her society and the opportunity that she has received to marry into royalty (Cass). Young, influential, and brand loyal, this group should be the target of many companies. For instance, principals, administrators, counselors and other support personnel may be solicited by the school social worker to implement Positive Behavior Support (PBS) which is an intervention used to deter negative behavior of a student demonstrating signs of behavior disorder even before it becomes a problem (Merchant, Anderson, Caldarelli, Young, Young, 2009 as cited in Jarolmen, 2014).In addition, NC Standard 4 (a) elaborates that school social workers must exercise assessments to correctly establish the need of the student as well as identify service gaps within the school setting. Authors Scott, Nelson, Zabala, (2003), explains the process of using assessments such as the Functional Behavior Assessment . The Functional Behavior Assessment is used to develop a behavioral intervention plan for the student as needed. • 39. The Corporate Side Of American Public Education And The... Diane Ravitch explores the corporate side of American public education and the reformists misled beliefs that the school system is in crisis. The school reforms in place are disguised as a means of improving public education, when in reality it has become an objective to replace public education with a privately managed, free market system of schooling (Ravitch, p.4). Diane Ravitch supports her claim that the reformation movement has poor intentions with multiple sources of evidence. Among these facts she uncovers the truth behind test scores and the achievement gap. Furthermore, Ravitch exposes how the reform movement is a back door way to privatize schooling with monetary motives in mind. In response to these problems, Diane ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another reality that Diane Ravitch sheds light on is the misconstrued theories about the achievement gap. Reformers often say that African American and Hispanic students have not made progress for decades (Ravitch, p.55). However, after looking at the data from NAEP, it is evident that this assertion by the reformers just simply is not true. Rather, these students have shown dramatic increases in math. Many do not recognize this though because white achievement has also improved which keeps the gap at large. (Ravitch, p.56) Throughout different grades, African Americans and Hispanics have shown remarkable progress in mathematics. There has been improvement in reading as well, just not as dramatic as the progress shown in math. Ravitch states, Today s reformers often imply that schools alone can close the achievement gaps among different groups. The like to point to exemplary charter schools with high test scores to prove their point (Ravitch, p.59). While the belief that a charter school could bridge the achievement gap and overcome the disadvantages of poverty, it simply is not a realistically feasible concept. Thomas B. Timar of the University of California states, Yet the gap is the symptom of larger social, economic and political problems that go far beyond the reach of the school... While schools are part of the solution, they alone cannot solve the problem of educational disparities (Ravitch, p.60). Timar calls society to take action by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Christian Persecution In The Early Church For the third year in a row, the modern persecution of Christians worldwide has hit another record high according to Christianity Today (Persecution in the Early Church). Right now, it is very dangerous to be a Christian in some countries of the world. Countries in Asia and the Middle East show the most violence towards Christians. If history really does repeat itself, Christianity will grow in numbers and in faith. More people will convert and the religion as a whole will be strengthened. The primary role and responsibility of an Animal Shelter volunteer is to assist animal control officers with the handling and presenting of shelter animals to the general public for potential adoption. The time I ve spent at the Animal Shelter has been extremely rewarding, so much so that I feel it is a privilege to work for the Animal Shelter. I am fortunate to be able to help and comfort animals looking for a human and interact with people looking for a new family member. My interest and passion for helping animals has been with me for as long as I can recall.
