Demand Curve And The Supply Curve
In some cities around the world (e.g. Berlin, New York, and Stockholm) rent control is used to ensure
housing is affordable. Using the Market model, conduct an economic analysis of rent control. Use the
analysis as a basis for providing recommendations regarding its introduction in London.
Rent control, like all other government mandated price controls is a law placing a maximum price, or
a rent ceiling, on what landlords may charge tenants. If it is to have any effect, the rent level must be
set at a rate below that which would otherwise have prevailed (Walter Block).
The Market Model (figure 1) shows that there is a gap between supply and demand. This is
demonstrated by two curves which are the demand curve and the supply curve. Consumers of a
product are encouraged to increase purchasing when the government decreases prices and as price
rises to decrease purchasing, whereas, suppliers are encouraged to increase production when prices are
high and decrease production when prices fall. The market model shows that at one point the demand
curve and the supply curve intersect. This is called the equilibrium price where production is equal to
demand thus there is no surplus and no shortages. Figure 1 can also describe a Pareto efficient
economy. This is where all possible Pareto improvements have been made: where, therefore, it is
impossible to make anyone better off without making someone else worse off (Sloman, Wride and
Garratt, 2012, p 318).

Trauma is defined as:
a. an injury (as a wound) to living tissue caused by an extrinsic agent;
b. a disordered psychic or behavioral state resulting from severe mental or emotional stress or physical
injury;
c. an emotional upset.
Trauma comes from the Greek  meaning wound, and meaning damage,
harm, or impairment. Trauma affects every body. The traumatized person will experience dissociation,
disbelief, isolation, and hopelessness. They will often wonder Where is God and why has he left me?
I am going to concentrate on definitions b and c above because although the trauma patient is at the
hospital because of a , there is nothing we as chaplains can do about that. That part of the trauma is the
concern of the medical staff.
Let us first look at who are victims are. As I see it, there are four victims to every trauma the
patient(s), the family, the staff, and you. It seems that in our hurry to treat the patient we often move
the others to a secondary or tertiary role (the staff and you). This is not necessarily the case. If you don
t take care of you, then the others will not be able to benefit from your ministry.
This is where CPE comes in. A trauma chaplain without multiple units of CPE cannot possibly be
prepared to handle the day to day activities of an emergency room let alone a trauma center. CPE
teaches us to know ourselves and by that, to be transparent so that we may put aside our prejudices
and biases and properly concentrate on the

Greenbush Vs. Burke Heights
Greenbush vs. Burke Heights
This report will be on the research I have discovered first hand as well as through statistical data that
compares and contrasts the neighborhoods of Greenbush and Burke Heights, both located in Madison,
Wisconsin. When researching these two neighborhoods, I focused on the neighborhoods housing
statistics, demographics of their residents, and the money circulating within the neighborhoods.
Another aspect I paid attention to while comparing the neighborhoods was the economic and
employment opportunities available within the communities. These benefits directly correlate to the
amount of capital that is available for residents. Lastly, I took note of the entertainment, retail, and
physical possibilities that prevailed in these neighborhoods.
The first subject I will compare is the housing within each neighborhood. First, in the Greenbush
neighborhood, the majority of people are either college students or young adults between the ages of
twenty and thirty two. It was obvious this age group lived in these homes seeing the décor on the front
porches and the cars in the driveways. The average household income ranges between seventy and
eighty five thousand dollars per year (StatisticalAtlas). Just walking down the street I noticed most of
the lots are designated for either college students, expensive residential homes, or parks with green
spaces. The neighborhoods average price for a normal sized home would range between three hundred
and three

Pros And Cons Of School Blocking Students
Professor Sam Wineburg of Stanford University adamantly opposes the practice of schools blocking
students from certain websites and databases such as Wikipedia, Twitter, and Instagram. Dr. Wineburg
suggests that if students only have access to information chosen and filtered by the institution, their
ability to choose what to believe, and how to think will not develop. If students do not have access to
sites such as Wikipedia, once they are able to browse freely, they will be unable to tell what is reliable.
By imposing these restrictions, schools are failing to allow students to think freely. More importantly,
they are depriving students of furthering their intelligence by choosing themselves what information is
valid and what is not. These constraints essentially tell students what to believe; therefore, once they
go beyond classroom doors and browse freely, they will be incapable of finding sources on their own.
Furthermore, blocking sites only worsens the spread of fake news, since students believe everything
they read. I agree with Dr. Wineburg in that schools should not block certain websites. Blocking
students from sources or only allowing certain online databases not only limits students ability to
expand their knowledge, but harms their free thinking and forces them to believe the information
placed in front of them, ultimately contributing to students spreading fake news.
Dr. Wineburg s opposition to schools blocking students from unvetted websites is backed by

Conventional Control And Artificial Control
Conventional control methods cannot achieve the desired speed tracking with good accuracy in case
of sudden disturbance and parameter variations. This problem can be alleviated by implementing
advanced control techniques such as adaptive control, variable structure control, fuzzy control and
neural network [66].Fuzzy control theory usually provides nonlinear controllers that are capable of
performing different complex nonlinear control action even for uncertain nonlinear systems [67].
Unlike conventional control designing, a FLC does not require precise knowledge of the system model
such as the poles and zeroes of the system transfer function [68]. A fuzzy logic control system based
on expert knowledge database needs less calculations, but it lacks sufficient capacity for the new rules
[1]. So, the combination between fuzzy and PID controller where the role of the fuzzy controller is to
tune the PID controller parameters according to the error and change of error might be a good
alternative compared to conventional PID control [45] and [67].
It is appropriate for speed control applications. FLC is very suitable for the controlled object with
characteristics of large delay, large inertia, non linear and time variant [28].
In this chapter we applied two techniques of control. The first control technique is self tuning fuzzy
PID controller which shows a good performance compared to conventional PID controller. The second
technique is apply fuzzy logic based on fractional order

Essay on Rewriting History in Henry IV
Rewriting History in Henry IV
The master of historiography is, perhaps, Shakespeare as evidenced by his History Plays. Whereas
most writers merely borrow from history to fuel their creative fires, Shakespeare goes so far as to
rewrite history. The First Part of Henry the Fourth follows history fairly closely, and Shakespeare
draws this history primarily from Raphael Holinshed s Chronicle of England, Scotland, and Ireland
and from Samuel Daniel s verse epic The Civil Wars (Abrams 823).
The play opens shortly after Henry Bolingbroke has usurped the throne from Richard II, becoming the
fourth King Henry, and changing the royal lineage from the House of Plantagenet to the House of
Lancaster. In the opening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the most part, Shakespeare did indeed fabricate Falstaff, Poins, and the whole Tavern Group, yet
historical evidence does support some sort of provincial getaway. McFarlane records that in 1412 the
younger Henry remained dissatisfied [with his father] and shortly afterwards withdrew once more into
the provinces, where he was soon again at his old tricks (110). Shakespeare originally named the
character of Falstaff after the Protestant martyr John Oldcastle. Shakespeare eventually bowed to the
objections of Oldcastle s descendants, renaming the character (Abrams 823).
At the Battle of Shrewsbury, Shakespeare describes how Hal kills Hotspur, eulogizes him (5.4.78
102), and then concedes the victory of the kill to Falstaff (5.4.138 50). History records that Hal
himself suffered an arrow shot to the face (Rowse 44) and that no one knows for certain who killed
Hotspur (Jacob 52 3). History further records that, as for the eulogy, it was the king who shed tears
over Hotspur s slain figure, not the young prince (Rowse 45). Despite Hotspur being three years older
than Hal s father (Hotspur died at age thirty nine) (Rowse 44), Shakespeare paints the portrait of
Hotspur and Hal as contemporaries, following poet Daniel s lead (Drabble 475). Rowse does note,
however, that Shakespeare did capture the essence in Hotspur of something not grown up about this
fighting man, who

Liberal Arts Degree Benefits
The use of a liberal arts degree is considerably useful and you should certainly strive towards one. The
professor in this essay believes that the perception of getting a liberal arts degree is commonly
misconceived as being a degree for hobbies and not for the workforce. The argument centers around
the many uses of a liberal arts degree that offer people multiple opportunities for them to find a career.
The point of this essay is to evaluate and provide facts of the uses of these degrees and how these
degrees will help you in the workforce.
The earning of liberal arts degrees is not simply luxury that you can t afford, rather it s a skill that is
earned and used in everyday life. The common misconception that the author goes into is that liberal
arts degrees are simply a luxury that we cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When in reality there are plenty of jobs looking for certain employees with these acquired set of skills.
The idea that you get a degree just to get a high paying job is a very misguided suggestion. The reason
why this is the case is that most people when they earn their degree they will immediately get a high
paying job. The process of getting a career is what makes enticing other people to get a liberal arts
degree difficult. It sends the wrong message saying that you have to get a job in a said career
immediately after you graduate. The author brings up that the problem with this sentiment is that most
great jobs don t even exist yet. It is proven that by getting a liberal arts degree will allow you to gain a
well established job in due time. Think of it as an investment into education except the education that
you are investing are the things that you enjoy doing in life and most likely a job will be created for
that field. According to the

How Conflict Affects Relationships
I feel as though that sometimes no one will help those with conflicts, perhaps because they don t know
what to do or maybe because they think the person should work through it themselves. Those are two
different reactions, but the second one is more harsh. The first means you probably have at least
attempted to help, but the second one seems almost selfish, like you know that person enough to know
they can and can t handle by themselves. Truthfully, we do not know what we, ourselves, can handle
often times. Those to seem to have their fair share of similarities and differences, but I have seen they
don t help because they truly believe there is nothing that can be done, that it s hopeless.
Ordinarily, conflicts as a child affects people a lot, whether that be minor or major conflicts, they
affect how you may see certain things. No matter the conflicts, though, whether they be societal or
with someone, they seem to always affect how you feel about yourself and how you deal with internal
conflicts. Maybe you re more likely to blame yourself for issues than other people, maybe you have
problems with your self esteem, etc. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Effects Of Local Pollution On The World Energy Outlook...
The successful outcome of COP21 has raised hopes and expectations of concerted global efforts to
tackle climate change, and brought forward a whole raft of challenging questions:
How will this affect the momentum behind the deployment of key renewable technologies and the
drive for greater energy efficiency?
Ample supply is keeping downward pressure on fossil fuel prices, coal, oil and natural gas. When and
how will market dynamics change or might lower prices for some fuels be here to stay?
The impact of local pollution, often energy related, on air quality is a matter of rising social and
political concern in many countries. How can governments act to tackle this problem and what would
these actions mean for the energy sector?
The World Energy Outlook 2016 published by the International Energy Agency (IEA) is coming out
this month and will seek to shed some light on these questions with insightful analysis. In the
meantime, there is one matter that everyone can agree on: for the near future, energy demand will
continue to grow. How it is produced and used will be a critical factor in the future of the global
economy, geopolitics, and the environment.
With that in mind, McKinsey took a hard look at the data, modeling energy demand by country, sector,
and fuel mix, with an analysis of current conditions, historical data, and country level assessments. On
this basis, McKinsey s Global Energy Insights team has put together a description of the global energy

Swann v. Charlotte Mecklenburg
1) Complete Citation: SWANN v. BOARD OF EDUCATION, 402 U.S. 1 (1971)
2) Parties involved in the case: Plaintiff: Swann Defendant: Board of Education (Charlotte
Mecklenburg)
3) Dates: Argued: October 12, 1970 Decided: April 20, 1971
4) Facts: Since the verdict made by the Supreme Court on the Brown v. Board of Education case, little
enactment was made in the Charlotte Mecklenburg, North Carolina s school structure. There are 107
schools altogether, in which the student population is 84000. Within the structure, there are 21 schools
in which 14000 African Americans attend that are 99% of their race only. The rest of the African
American students, about 10000 students, attend integrated school. In this case, the plaintiff, Swann,
had come forth to bring the board of education to the court. It all started when Dr. Darius Swann,
professor at Johnson C. Smith University, wanted to enroll his child to an almost all white school
closer to his home, which he was rejected.
5) Issues: There were many issues in this case and they were: 1) whether or not the suggested plan
would actually end segregation 2) if the courts are protected under the fourteenth amendment to take
action to end the segregation in schools.
6) Decision and Rationale: District Court ordered the school system to create a plan that would allow
for improvements for the integration and finally end the segregation. The

The And Its Influence On The Art World
Interpretations of artworks have been widely valued among the art world for centuries. Arguments
whether an artwork means one thing, multiple things, or nothing at all is a question that circles the art
world, and cause art critics to disagree when interpreting a work. Nihilism, monism, pluralism,
intentionalism, romanticism, anti intentionalsim, and post structuralism all contain philosopher s
theories that can give art viewers the key to giving meaning to a creation. I prefer the views of
pluralism, and post structuralism when looking for the answer of how to interpret an artwork such as
J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter series as with most fictional books. Pluralism does not contain one
completely right answer, but can disregard certain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I agree with the thought a good work allows for multiple interpretations because when I read J.K.
Rowling s series, I became immediately consumed in the fictional world, experiencing and
interpreting things as I saw fit. I read the books and never once thought of Dumbledore as gay, but
other s that read the books, and the author whom wrote them interpreted him as gay. Neither their
interpretations nor my own are wrong according to the pluralist view because both are plausible,
viable interpretations. While in the books there is not a single statement that clearly displays
Dumbledore as gay, there is also not a statement that clearly displays him being heterosexual, either.
With that thought in mind, one could assume that the sexual orientation could not possibly be
knowledge attained by anyone because it is not disclosed in the book, but that does not give any
justification to dismissing the interpretation of him being either hetero or homosexual. The pluralist
view hits a dead end because there is always the open question of how to distinguish between a
plausible and implausible interpretation.
Most people would argue from a monist stand point that because the author said the meaning was one
thing then they must be right, but post structuralist Barthes says that the author is not meant to be the
arbiter of meaning (Hicks, 83), but rather the work itself. So with this suggestion, the author seems to
not have complete say in what the book or

Analysis Of Abc s Fice Essay
As a predecessor of NBC s The Office, both created by Greg Daniels and Mike Schur, Parks and
Recreation (or P R for short) had big shoes to fill. At first, the show did not impress many, and its
ratings were low. The first season seemed not to have a place, like a show trying to be something it
was not, until it found its footing. Feminism was the missing piece of the puzzle. The show went on to
become a success even more so than The Office. So what separates the two? P R eventually gave us
something The Office never did: real world issues, served up with clever wit. The fictional worlds
most television shows take place in, are almost entirely post feminist. Unlike these sexism free
utopias, P R normalizes feminism, reminding us that it exists and is important; it is the stepping stone
we need to further conversations about inequality. While the text of P R is consistently the most
obviously empowering aspect of the show, production practices and audience consumption are also
rich with evidence of this series feminist potential. It s important that I clarify that when I say
feminism, I am talking about liberal feminism, or, white feminism. The kind of feminism you see in P
R is women having a seat at the table, or breaking the glass ceiling feminism. The show lacks
intersectional views and never touches upon racial, class or LGBT issues. Whether or not the use of
liberal feminism is problematic or not, is not what I am here to argue. I would like to reiterate

foods in the forest. A person needs to know what kind of plants are poisonous and which one are
edible. One also needs to know where to find food. Different foods will provide nutrients and protein.
Someone trying to survive in the forest also needs to know how to prepare it. That is going to be life
or death in the forest. Surviving in the forest is possible if one knows what kind of food is there, how
to find it, and how to prepare it properly to eat. The forest provides berries, greens, nuts, and meat.

In his research Rogers identified six elements which are necessary in a counselling relationship for
therapeutic change or growth to occur. Three of these elements are closely associated with the
personal qualities which the counsellor brings to their relationship with clients. These are now
famously referred to as the core conditions. The first of these core conditions is empathy, which has
been described as the ability to feel what it s like to walk in someone else s shoes, and is very different
from sympathy, as this touching animation explains. The second condition is referred to as

STRENGTHS OF GESTALT APPROACH
1. It relies on creative efforts
The client in relation to the therapist uses the links and connections aided through psychotherapy and
counseling in finding out new and creative solutions to otherwise seemingly closed ended problems.
2. It has respect for the issues of client in context
The emotional and psycho social issues of client are addressed in a way suited to context of the
problem. As this approach believes in problem in relation to context.
3. It helps the client to find own ways to solve a problem by linking the emotional barriers and issues
The client is able to track the trajectory from past to present and how various down links are
connected and where are the actual issues.
4. It is more caring and supportive
This approach is social in nature and cares for the client in a comprehensive and thorough manner
instead of tracking spots and blaming singular behaviors.
5. It has more social responsibility
Gestalt also is a more socially responsible approach as it helps the therapist to aid the treatment of
client on a bigger level with motives to improve the overall life and its interests.

The language
What is language?
As North Americans living in the early 21st century, we have been educated about language from the
time we entered school. But much of what we learn about language in schools belongs more to a folk
model than to an analytic model of language. Here are several pervasive aspects of our folk model of
language.
Language is a communication system. It is true that we use language to communicate with others.
However, language is much more than a communication system. The most recent thinking about the
nature of language suggests that language is first and foremost a representational system; a system
which provides us with the symbols we need to model for ourselves, to ourselves, inside our heads,
the universe around us. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Furthermore, in some languages, like Spanish and Russian, so called double negatives are the rule,
rather than the exception. Note the Spanish and Russian expressions for I don t see anything.
Spanish: Yo no veo nada. I no see nothing
Russian: Ya ne vizhu nichevo.
These are the normal, indeed the only, way of expressing this in Spanish and Russian. If language
worked like formal logic, Spanish and Russian speakers would be suffering from a permament case of
illogic. Since speakers of Spanish and Russian appear to be normal human beings, we have to
conclude that language does not obey the rules of formal logic.
Thus, the rule against double negatives formulated by Bishop Lowth is not a grammar rule, but rather
a social rule having to do with what he considered to be the acceptable use of English.
Language is pure and unchanging. As a conservative society heavily focused on written, rather than
oral, forms of language, we tend to think that change, in language as in many other things, is bad. A
whole industry of language experts such as Edwin Newman and William Safire regularly rant

The Silence of the Lambs is directed by Jonathan Demme, with the screenplay written by Ted Tally
and the novel it is based on (of the same name) written by Thomas Harris. Other notable films directed
by Jonathan Demme include Philadelphia (1993) and The Manchurian Candidate (2004). Ted Tally

However, Roman concrete was most widely used to construct roads for troops and to help faster

a reason but because of that you can understand how more than one person feels. The story declares, It
isn t fair, it isn t right. That was said by Tessie Hutchinson right before she was stoned to death, with
the 3rd person point of view, we are able to know how she feels as well as the narrator. Also, the story
has that theme because only one person is killed every year opposed to a bunch of people. The Lottery
states, Then they were upon her. This shows that only Tessie was being stoned to death. Another
reason The Lottery is different than Fist They Came is because it is written as a fictional

Profit and Non profits organizations share the common goal of creating a product that will ultimately
generate a surplus. The uses of the surplus are where the two organizations differ. Non profits
organizations take their surplus revenues to further achieve their purpose or mission often aligned with
some social challenge. Profit organizations take their surplus and distribute it to the organizations

have a strong marketing and public relations plan to ensure their organization is competitive and
relevant to the consumer not only today but in the future as well.
Statement of The Issue Organizations should maintain effective marking and public relations plans to
remain competitive and viable in a society that is consistently changing. It is important for an
organization to have a purpose that is focused on maintaining consumers for duration of times rather
than a short period until the next invention (Levitt, 2004). The issues is as new technology and
invention continue to be discovered organizations must ensure they have a broad definition of their
organization and maintain a close pulse of the customers needs to ensure the business grows with the
needs of its consumers in mind and not simply a product they are trying to sell (Levitt, 2004). One

The Importance Of Teaching And Classroom Management
Throughout my time on professional placement not only was I given opportunities to teach, I was also
given opportunities to observe my mentor teacher and other teachers. Through these observations I
gained an understanding of multiple aspects of teaching and classroom management that I would often
miss or be unaware of during my own teaching. When analysing my observations, there were a
number of themes that stood out. However, it was the students that interested me the most. The school
is largely multicultural with over 35% of the school population was born outside Australia in 52
different countries. When observing both theory and practical classes, I noticed a wide range of
abilities in physical terms including skill and fitness, as well as cognitive abilities. On a number of
occasions, I witnessed students lack of engagement with a task or activity, which would then in turn
affect students motivation and ability to stay on track with the task leading to off task behavior. Sallis
and McKenzie (1991) argued that positive experiences in PE could influence children to adopt
physically active adult lifestyles which can improve public health. It is, therefore, important to
understand the motivational, cognitive, and affective processes that can determine whether children
will regard PE as a valuable, enjoyable, and rewarding experience, or as a worthless, boring, and
humiliating one. The following essay will reflect and analyse on the themes of, motivation influenced

The As A Puppet Of The Enemy Occupying His Country Essay
The word quisling is a term coined after the leader, Vidkun Quisling. The definition, a traitor who
serves as the puppet of the enemy occupying his country, (Sorel) came to be after Quisling found
himself in a situation leading for his homeland, although assisting the invading country. The metaphor
in where he acts similar to a puppet in favor of the nemesis plays a big role in how the word came to
be. On top of acting as a puppet, his profound government party also took after the name as a puppet
government. Today, it is said that his name is synonymous with the word, traitor. Quisling is the
epitome of betrayal among the citizens during World War II.
To begin, Vidkun Abraham Lauritz Jonsson Quisling was born on July 18th, 1887 in Fyresdal,
Norway. During his early years, he showed an interest towards math. While his premature intelligence
developed in these fields as a prodigy child, his parents sought his future life in the military. When he
became older and enrolled in a military academy, he demonstrated his strong background in the
studies. Quisling graduated with the highest honors and rankings in history for the academy. Little did
he know that this military background would help anticipate towards his power, leading to the
cutthroat of his name. Shortly after graduating, he joined the military, serving as an attache in the

Romeo And Juliet And Franco Zeffirelli s
Timeless yet calamitous, Romeo and Juliet is the classic story of two star crossed lovers. Written by
William Shakespeare in 1597, it has been read by many over the course of hundreds of years. Having
been adapted into plays and films several times over, the archetype of two star crossed lovers is
prevalent in many pieces of literature and movies. Starring Olivia Hussey as Juliet and Leonard
Whiting as Romeo, the movie released in 1968 was directed by Franco Zeffirelli; Baz Luhrmann
directed his own interpretation less than thirty years later, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo
and Claire Danes as Juliet. Both versions of the play had very diverse screenplays, but both movies
were able to keep the original storyline of Shakespeare s original play. Franco Zeffirelli s version is

Found in these two characters, innocence is essential to the storyline because this element is a major
factor that influenced the character s actions. Both Romeo and Juliet are relatively young; especially
Juliet because she is said to be thirteen. Also, it is important for the actors in the movies to be able to
portray this youthful quality. Despite maturity being a desirable trait for many people, it is necessary
for Juliet to be depicted as young and naïve. Franco Zeffirelli is capable of achieving this by casting
Olivia Hussey. Acting well, Olivia was capable of playing the role of Juliet, as it would have been in
the play. On the other hand, Claire Danes playing Juliet, as seen in Luhrmann s adaptation, was good;
but could have been performed better. Her character seemed to mature to portray the naïveté that Juliet
possesses. By casting Hussey as Juliet, Zeffirelli was able to come closer to the true nature of the play
because Juliet s innocence was captured in her character more

Pride And Prejudice Character Flaws
Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, is a masterfully written novel that reveals timeless life lessons to
the reader through its richly developed characters and storyline. Set in England during the early
nineteenth century, the story revolves around the flaws of Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, and
how their journey in overcoming these flaws eventually brings them together. Even though Elizabeth
and Mr. Darcy are seen to possess obvious character flaws right away, the author expertly uses the
marriages of others, such as that of Elizabeth s parents, to demonstrate just how important virtue is.
Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy work to overcome their flaws and as a result are seen to have a more happy
and blessed marriage, whereas Elizabeth s parents make no attempt to better themselves, resulting in a
troubled and unhappy marriage. Jane Austen uses her characters Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, Elizabeth, and
Mr. Darcy to show that virtue is essential in the happiness of a marriage, and that without it, a
marriage will break down.
The virtues and qualities that are lacking in the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet are easily perceived
early on in the book. Mr. Bennet is seen to have little patience for those who are not as intelligent as
he is, and this includes his wife. Having foolishly married each other based on looks and other
superficial qualities, Mr. Bennet did not truly know his wife when he married her, and thus he comes
to discover that she is a rather silly woman when it is already

Life After High School
Life after high school can be one of the most difficult decisions in your life. And it is not just one
decision, the college you choose can alter many aspects of your life. When you attempt to choose a
school to go to you have to take into consideration many things. You have to know the major you want
to go for, the minors, location, tuition cost, et cetera. I have so many options for the next step in my
life. For this paper, however, I have narrowed it down to two options: Miami University and the
University of Cincinnati. It is a close race between the two, but based on my recent visit to Miami
going there for college would be the better option for my future. Money is an issue for mostly all
college students, everyone is always worried about the debt they will obtain by going through
schooling and how they are going to pay it off. Unless someone can get a full ride scholarship, you are
going to have to owe money to the university you go to. My solution is that I will be making enough
money after college to pay it off pretty quickly so I do not have to owe too much money throughout
my life. Miami tuition is around $15,000 and room and board is around $13,000 so the total is
somewhere close to $28,000 ( 2017 Cohort ). Cincinnati tuition is $11,000 and room and board can be
from $11,000 to $13,000, so between $22,000 and $24,000 would be the total ( UC Facts ). I intend to
get scholarships through various companies or associations to bring the total price per year down.

Everyone wants to do something that makes them happy. But sometimes you take the wrong decisions
or everything decides to go against you, which makes you stay in the box you were trying to escape

productive, you have to work in a way that will make you happy, because that is what you need the

wife tells him that she will be home in twenty minutes, he gets a flashback to a time where he was
waiting for his mom in the same amount of time. And that s when he got the blue elephant5. The
elephant can symbolize freedom, peace and happiness, which he is looking for. It was a gift from his
mother, and she had been gone for a long while, so when she came back it brought joy and hope in
him. Therefore the elephant is meaningful and also the light in his dark working room. William gets a

the way his life is, because it wasn t the way he planned it to be, but he has hope and is dedicated with

By these members going through training, that gives me some type of relief. Something that was
spoken daily in our police academy that I find to be fitting for this is, when you least expect it, expect
it. Natural disasters are something know really expects to happen until happens. By having these
contingency plans in place, and being able to have a group of people ready to go at a phone call should
make their communities feel better. Something that I did not think about was the size of the
communities. Bigger cities will have more first responders, but also more area cover. What about
smaller communities? The amount of first responders will be lower, and with that comes training for
some unlikely candidates. Teenagers. High Schools now are beginning to show high schoolers what to
do during certain situations, while waiting for first responders. Once again, I find this to be a great
thing. The great thing about involving the youth is that it teaches something that can use for the rest of
their lives and continue to improve on using. For those that decide to go to the military, become a first
responder, or even a cadet in a police department, will give them a little bit of an idea what is expected

My Birth Of A Baby Girl
In 1991, my mother gave birth to a new baby girl my new little sister. It was the moment that my love
of children started, I would do everything for her. She had become mine, as she got older I realized
she was not a baby anymore and I had to put more into doing for her. By the time I was 15 years old,
my cousin gave birth to a little boy. And I would babysit my sister and cousin, I thought it was so fun.
So, by this time I had become the new family babysitter. This was the time I knew I wanted to work
with children, I knew I wanted to be a teacher.
In 1996, I attended Northern High School in Durham NC, and took parenting and childcare classes. In
the parenting class we had to take a fake baby home, but the baby did all the things of a real child.
When we were given the computerized baby it came with five feelings cards, each card had a different
feeling they were feeding, wet, sleepy, love, and want to be held. When the baby would cry, you
would have to figure out what the problem was by sticking one of the cards in the baby s back and
holding it until it stopped crying if not you would have to change the card. At the end of your time
with the baby, the teacher would give you a printout of the time and minutes of what the baby wanted
or needed. When taken this class, it showed me that babies cry for different reasons at different times.
In 2000 which was my senior year of high school I took Childcare classes, this class put me on the
path of working with children. We would

Seven Year Itch
In the film The Seven Year Itch , Richard Sherman, the main character, reflects many examples of
Freud s psychoanalytic theory. The film is based around a married man, who sends his wife and son to
Maine for the summer, but suddenly becomes attracted to a much younger, stunning woman who
moves into the apartment above him. Throughout the entirety of the film, Sherman displays a plethora
of components of personality and defense mechanisms that align with the psychoanalytic theory that
includes rationalization, projection, and repression. Sherman must combat both his sinister Id and
many poor excuses for his vile behavior before anyone finds out about his froundupon fling. Richards
wife gives him three rules to follow for when she is gone. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of repression would be when Richard trips over ricky s toy, and blurts his name out as if it
is his fault for him tripping, when it is really his own fault for tripping because he was oblivious to the
fact the toy was there. His mind was probably somewhere else, thinking about the girl upstairs. This is
repression because he obviously has issues with Ricky deep down, maybe between his attitude and
him not cleaning his toys up, but his problems with him are bubbling out little by

While espionage a crime of spying that only protects the federal government for the transferring state
secrets on behalf of a foreign country, but if this only protects the government information Apple s
customers are not allowed the same protection. Especially if they pay for the service of protection that
Apple promises in their policy. Forcing Apple to enable hacking can compromise the privacy of many
users in order to assist the government, and it can also so effect their business and their customer s
personal information. The FBI reasoning s behind the need to have a master key is also due to the U.S
Patriot Act. The U.S. Patriot Act states that the law is intended to help government agencies detect and
prevent possible acts of terrorism, or sponsorship of terrorist groups. Another issue is the paid for third
party that assisted the FBI in unlocking Farook s phone, if a third agency could easily bypass apple s
software than the master key program that the FBI persuaded Apple to develop could be exploited by
others. Criminals, domestic and foreign agency to these features by a mass surveillance system,

What Is My Room Essay
My Room Everyone likes places they can go to, to let be in a safe place. Mine may not be the prettiest,
coolest, or most perfect by any means. For me it works the best when I need breaks from my life and
just relax, this is where I go to. It frees me from all the chaos in my life, and I can just let go of things
that are worrying me or things I don t need to be in my life. My safe place is my room, my go to friend
when I need one, I can always rely on my lovely room. Most rooms fit to people s personality and
what they think is the best for them. I was searching ideas on how to recreate my room, and I finally
found the best theme for me and how it fit my personality. The room contains four walls, that are
joined together, in a rectangle shape. My room is the biggest one in the house, no not because I wanted
this room, but because I shared it with my older sister. No the room is all mine. Two the walls that are
opposite of each other are painted Peppered Pecan which is a brown color, that I love so dearly. The
other two walls are painted just plain white. If dressers could talk they would tell me how much they
love the color they are painted. Distressed, with brown as the base coat, and an off white at the top,
then sanded, to make the old fashion look to them. There knobs are brassy which stands out, from the
off white. Plants just bring a happy vibe to people, which this plant does to me, with its rough stem
and long green leaves, just something about it. Windows are

Purpose Of Me Writing This Portfolio
The purpose of me writing this portfolio is so my reviewers can understand the struggle that i have
went through but also the improvement that I have went through this far in the semester. In my final
portfolio I am going to put three types of essays the first one is going to be a timed essay the one I am
going to put in of the timed essay is going to be my classification timed essay I did this semester. So
you can see the growth I made this semester and the difference in my writing when it comes to a timed
essay and a regular essay. The second essay I am going to put it in is a teacher edited essay and the
name of that essay is called What A True Friend Means To Me. The last essay I am going to put in my
essay is a student edit essay and the name of that one is called Medication Should be Your choice. I
had a lot of struggle when it came to the timed essay because I felt like I didn t have enough time and I
wasn t organized so it took me longer than others. But I know for next time I have a timed essay to
free write first and to make better use of my time so I can get better into detail. Also I feel as though I
could ve gotten a 4/4 in my last timed essay because I understood more but I had trouble with how
should I start off but once I started writing it came to me I just wish we had time to write out ideas and
then another time to actually start the essay. Going to writing Skills III was worth it because I use to
think how I was writing my essay in high school was

Similar Ideas Presented in Blade Runner by Ridley Scott...
Bound by different contexts, authors often use a popular medium in order to depict the discontent of
the ideas of society. This is evident in the module Texts in Time; as Blade Runner, having been written
more than one hundred years after Frankenstein is still able to reflect the ideas proposed in the latter.
Blade Runner by Ridley Scott deals with the effects of globalisation and consumerism during 1980 s.
Alternatively, the epistolary novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley deals with the kinship to the natural
world set in the Romantic Era and enlightenment period. However Blade Runner, although subjected
by a different context, also portrays a similar idea to Frankenstein; the fear of science and technology
coupled with the value of the definition of a human. Through this commonality, we are able to utilise
the values of Blade Runner in order to truly understand Shelley s purpose.
During the 1980 s, the increasing amount of industrialisation brought about a new period in time, the
Industrial Revolution. Literally revolutionising the world, the Industrial Revolution changed the way
the world was perceived, no longer an agricultural based society but instead one overrun with
globalisation and consumerism. Scott portrays this in an overindulged manner, looking at the extreme
effects to long time globalisation and consumerism. As depicted in the film, the city is subject to a
constant downpour of rain surrounded by numerous skyscrapers that effectively block out the view of

Self Reflection On Pain Management
A critical self reflection on your current practice based upon current evidence to identify specific areas
for practice change.
My current practice on upper limb shoulder pain management in people with hemiplegia are
positioning, Sling application, over head pulley exercises, Bobath therapy, cryotherapy and ultrasound
therapy
Evidences for change
Electrical stimulation
Klotz et al. (2016) concluded from their literature review on treatments of shoulder pain in people
with hemiplegia that electrical stimulation is mostly used method, FES is best and effective therapy
and other methods such as bandaging, positioning, handling, heat therapy, cold therapy and ultrasound
are supportive methods.
David et al. (2004) did a study using intramuscular neuromuscular electric stimulation (NMES) for
supraspinatus, posterior deltoid, middle deltoid, and trapezius for 6 hours/day for 6 weeks and using a
cuff type sling in the control group for 6 weeks. They found pain reduction in the higher proportion of
the participants in NMES group at the end of the treatment (65.6%:24.1%) and it persisted up to
6months.
There is a pilot study found that Percutaneous(P) NMES decreases chronic hemiplegic shoulder pain
and maintains up to 6 months. P NMES dose used 20MA, 12 Hz, and 10s ON/10s OFF for 6 hours for
6 weeks (Renzenbrink Ijzerman, 2004).
Ricardo Viana et al. (2006) concluded according to his evidence based review that intramuscular
NMES is an effective (level 1a evidence) treatment for

Cultural Destruction Of Slavery In The Middle East And Africa
Two hundred and sixty seven years ago began a time of innovation and invention, as well as the
adoption of social theories which brought about change that is seen in the footings of nearly every
society today. However, even in times of human advancement which seemed to be for the better,
devastating consequences were still seen across the world, particularly in the Middle East and Africa.
Hidden in the shadows of history is a dark reality that resulted from advancements made by man; a
reality of slavery, both in the restriction of freedoms as well as economic entrapment, and a reality
with the blind justification for cultural destruction, using internal strife of developing nations as a
weapon in and of itself. Between the 1750 s and the 1910 s there was a plethora of historically
monumental events, as well as technological, and societal advancements that made the second ...

As much as this quote explains how the foreigners got their riches from the soil, in the same context it
fails to touch on how they got their riches from the people of the Gold Coast. When the Europeans
would travel to these areas, they made it seem as if they left the existing cultures alone, letting them
go about their business as usual. Unfortunately, this was not the case, as in most instances the
Europeans pushed their own cultural and religious values on the local populations. Some went to such
an extent as to creating a court system on foreign soil making anyone in European controlled areas
subject to such law. Dialogue between two characters from Abina And The Important Men accurately
depicts this cultural change taking place. While Abina and James Davis are discussing her future in
Cape Coast he says, The British are doing their best to civilize this place with the help of men like

The Characteristics Of Jackson Vs. Jackson By Andrew Jackson
Defend your manhood and vindicate wanton outrage but, do it calmly. These last words, said by
Andrew Jackson s mother, echoed in the seventh presidents mind and heart. Jackson abided by his
mother s words to some extent and developed to become an isolated, ambitious, and vengeful man.
During his presidency, Jackson was seen as relentless, and at times unconstitutional. No one person
would dictate his decisions; not during the Indian Removal Act nor the nullification crisis, not even
when closing the Bank of the United States.
The glistening and seemingly useless plains west of the Mississippi did not compare to the nutritious
lands east of the Mississippi ideal for farming. Jackson desired the land for prospective colonists but
knew that it was inhabited by the five civilized tribes: the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and
Seminole. According to Jackson, he respected the natives but viewed them as lower than that of
whites. Therefore, he had every right , in his mind, to move the natives by treaty or by force. Most of
the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole subsided to the government and moved westward
safely ; Many died to exhaustion, starvation, dehydration, and sickness during and after walk to their
permanent lands. The Cherokee, however, opposed of the removal because they had made an effort to
blend in to the colonists culture. Jackson still demanded they move westward; Again the Cherokee
refused and military force was used. The walk is now known as the Trail of Tears. During the eighteen
thirties, many colonists viewed the removal as a positive economic change but in present day America,
the removal has inadvertently costed the government billions of dollars. If Jackson were to predict that
the government would pay the Native Americans billions for their troubles, he would still have
followed through with the Indian Removal Act because his actions were not controlled by any external
source of information; If Jackson was determined, then he was unstoppable.
South Carolina took a stance against the ruthless Jackson, voiding a tariff enforced by the federal
government. The doctrine of nullification was advocated by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison
who believed that states

Personalised Learning Research
The aim of this assignment is to identify the different theories of Personalised Learning for a specific
student with Special Educational Needs or a disability. Through attempting different practices that
have been assigned by the SENCo at my chosen Educational Establishment, alongside my own
theories that I will be using, I aim to analyse the impact of these practices which will enable me to
evaluate the ambiguities and limitations to my research. I hope to use the findings from this thesis to
further develop my strategies for working with students with different SEN needs, and to be able to
alter them depending on the specific needs of a variety of pupils.

The results from the research I will be using in this assignment, will potentially provide me with a
deeper understanding of how to develop key strategies that can assist students in secondary education
who have developed emotional and behaviour issues due to poor literacy skills at an early age. In
keeping to Teaching Standard 2, I also hope to discover techniques that will assist pupils in taking
responsibility and pride in their own work, realising the value of their skills and being able to
recognise their improvements and successes within both their work and their

An Exhibit Of The National Air And Space Museum
In 1993, a plan to build an exhibit of the Enola Gay in the National Air and Space Museum received
immense amounts of criticism from military historians, journalists, and veterans, as they felt that it
didn t correctly portray the Japanese and those in the American armed forces during the war. The book
s authors offer theories ranging from historical context, how Japan s role in the war was interpreted,
the American people s discomfort regarding Truman s order to drop the bomb, the mood of Americans
during Vietnam, and the American lives spared as a result of the bomb.
Edward Linenthal s Anatomy of a Controversy conveys that Martin Harwit, the director of the
National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution, wanted to transform the day of August
6. The anniversary of Hiroshima had previously been a day of protest and recrimination, and Harwit s
goal in mind was to turn the anniversary into one of reflection. If the exhibit was perceived in the
wrong way, Harwit feared it could be interpreted as celebration (Linenthal, 19). Veterans who were
aboard the B 29 airplane were the first to direct their criticism over the exhibit, arguing that the exhibit
would not be displayed correctly. It was an insult to every soldier, sailor marine and airman by not
clearly describing that Japan had actually caused the United States intervention in the war (Linenthal,
20). Following the first draft, a few historians felt as though the proposed draft did not adequately do

Ethical Issues In Nursing
Ethical issues will always arise during a pandemic illness. At least one of the four principles of
medical ethics that guide nurses will have to be put into play when confronted with ethical issues. The
outbreaks of the HIV/AIDS virus can be seen as an example for ethical issues posed by epidemic
emergencies. According to Chiappelli et al. (2015), ethical dilemmas observed during this outbreak
includes isolation and quarantine; privacy and confidentiality; and the interpretation of ethical norms
across different ethno cultural settings. In such cases, ethical guidance for pandemic planning is
generally concerned with procedural notions of justice (Njozing, Edin, San Sebastian, Hurtig, 2011).
Furthermore, patients often times know that they

  • 2. Demand Curve And The Supply Curve In some cities around the world (e.g. Berlin, New York, and Stockholm) rent control is used to ensure housing is affordable. Using the Market model, conduct an economic analysis of rent control. Use the analysis as a basis for providing recommendations regarding its introduction in London. Rent control, like all other government mandated price controls is a law placing a maximum price, or a rent ceiling, on what landlords may charge tenants. If it is to have any effect, the rent level must be set at a rate below that which would otherwise have prevailed (Walter Block). The Market Model (figure 1) shows that there is a gap between supply and demand. This is demonstrated by two curves which are the demand curve and the supply curve. Consumers of a product are encouraged to increase purchasing when the government decreases prices and as price rises to decrease purchasing, whereas, suppliers are encouraged to increase production when prices are high and decrease production when prices fall. The market model shows that at one point the demand curve and the supply curve intersect. This is called the equilibrium price where production is equal to demand thus there is no surplus and no shortages. Figure 1 can also describe a Pareto efficient economy. This is where all possible Pareto improvements have been made: where, therefore, it is impossible to make anyone better off without making someone else worse off (Sloman, Wride and Garratt, 2012, p 318). Many argue that Rent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Clinical Pastoral Education Trauma is defined as: a. an injury (as a wound) to living tissue caused by an extrinsic agent; b. a disordered psychic or behavioral state resulting from severe mental or emotional stress or physical injury; c. an emotional upset. Trauma comes from the Greek  meaning wound, and meaning damage, harm, or impairment. Trauma affects every body. The traumatized person will experience dissociation, disbelief, isolation, and hopelessness. They will often wonder Where is God and why has he left me? I am going to concentrate on definitions b and c above because although the trauma patient is at the hospital because of a , there is nothing we as chaplains can do about that. That part of the trauma is the concern of the medical staff. Let us first look at who are victims are. As I see it, there are four victims to every trauma the patient(s), the family, the staff, and you. It seems that in our hurry to treat the patient we often move the others to a secondary or tertiary role (the staff and you). This is not necessarily the case. If you don t take care of you, then the others will not be able to benefit from your ministry. This is where CPE comes in. A trauma chaplain without multiple units of CPE cannot possibly be prepared to handle the day to day activities of an emergency room let alone a trauma center. CPE teaches us to know ourselves and by that, to be transparent so that we may put aside our prejudices and biases and properly concentrate on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Greenbush Vs. Burke Heights Greenbush vs. Burke Heights This report will be on the research I have discovered first hand as well as through statistical data that compares and contrasts the neighborhoods of Greenbush and Burke Heights, both located in Madison, Wisconsin. When researching these two neighborhoods, I focused on the neighborhoods housing statistics, demographics of their residents, and the money circulating within the neighborhoods. Another aspect I paid attention to while comparing the neighborhoods was the economic and employment opportunities available within the communities. These benefits directly correlate to the amount of capital that is available for residents. Lastly, I took note of the entertainment, retail, and physical possibilities that prevailed in these neighborhoods. The first subject I will compare is the housing within each neighborhood. First, in the Greenbush neighborhood, the majority of people are either college students or young adults between the ages of twenty and thirty two. It was obvious this age group lived in these homes seeing the décor on the front porches and the cars in the driveways. The average household income ranges between seventy and eighty five thousand dollars per year (StatisticalAtlas). Just walking down the street I noticed most of the lots are designated for either college students, expensive residential homes, or parks with green spaces. The neighborhoods average price for a normal sized home would range between three hundred and three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Pros And Cons Of School Blocking Students Professor Sam Wineburg of Stanford University adamantly opposes the practice of schools blocking students from certain websites and databases such as Wikipedia, Twitter, and Instagram. Dr. Wineburg suggests that if students only have access to information chosen and filtered by the institution, their ability to choose what to believe, and how to think will not develop. If students do not have access to sites such as Wikipedia, once they are able to browse freely, they will be unable to tell what is reliable. By imposing these restrictions, schools are failing to allow students to think freely. More importantly, they are depriving students of furthering their intelligence by choosing themselves what information is valid and what is not. These constraints essentially tell students what to believe; therefore, once they go beyond classroom doors and browse freely, they will be incapable of finding sources on their own. Furthermore, blocking sites only worsens the spread of fake news, since students believe everything they read. I agree with Dr. Wineburg in that schools should not block certain websites. Blocking students from sources or only allowing certain online databases not only limits students ability to expand their knowledge, but harms their free thinking and forces them to believe the information placed in front of them, ultimately contributing to students spreading fake news. Dr. Wineburg s opposition to schools blocking students from unvetted websites is backed by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Conventional Control And Artificial Control Conventional control methods cannot achieve the desired speed tracking with good accuracy in case of sudden disturbance and parameter variations. This problem can be alleviated by implementing advanced control techniques such as adaptive control, variable structure control, fuzzy control and neural network [66].Fuzzy control theory usually provides nonlinear controllers that are capable of performing different complex nonlinear control action even for uncertain nonlinear systems [67]. Unlike conventional control designing, a FLC does not require precise knowledge of the system model such as the poles and zeroes of the system transfer function [68]. A fuzzy logic control system based on expert knowledge database needs less calculations, but it lacks sufficient capacity for the new rules [1]. So, the combination between fuzzy and PID controller where the role of the fuzzy controller is to tune the PID controller parameters according to the error and change of error might be a good alternative compared to conventional PID control [45] and [67]. It is appropriate for speed control applications. FLC is very suitable for the controlled object with characteristics of large delay, large inertia, non linear and time variant [28]. In this chapter we applied two techniques of control. The first control technique is self tuning fuzzy PID controller which shows a good performance compared to conventional PID controller. The second technique is apply fuzzy logic based on fractional order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay on Rewriting History in Henry IV Rewriting History in Henry IV The master of historiography is, perhaps, Shakespeare as evidenced by his History Plays. Whereas most writers merely borrow from history to fuel their creative fires, Shakespeare goes so far as to rewrite history. The First Part of Henry the Fourth follows history fairly closely, and Shakespeare draws this history primarily from Raphael Holinshed s Chronicle of England, Scotland, and Ireland and from Samuel Daniel s verse epic The Civil Wars (Abrams 823). The play opens shortly after Henry Bolingbroke has usurped the throne from Richard II, becoming the fourth King Henry, and changing the royal lineage from the House of Plantagenet to the House of Lancaster. In the opening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the most part, Shakespeare did indeed fabricate Falstaff, Poins, and the whole Tavern Group, yet historical evidence does support some sort of provincial getaway. McFarlane records that in 1412 the younger Henry remained dissatisfied [with his father] and shortly afterwards withdrew once more into the provinces, where he was soon again at his old tricks (110). Shakespeare originally named the character of Falstaff after the Protestant martyr John Oldcastle. Shakespeare eventually bowed to the objections of Oldcastle s descendants, renaming the character (Abrams 823). At the Battle of Shrewsbury, Shakespeare describes how Hal kills Hotspur, eulogizes him (5.4.78 102), and then concedes the victory of the kill to Falstaff (5.4.138 50). History records that Hal himself suffered an arrow shot to the face (Rowse 44) and that no one knows for certain who killed Hotspur (Jacob 52 3). History further records that, as for the eulogy, it was the king who shed tears over Hotspur s slain figure, not the young prince (Rowse 45). Despite Hotspur being three years older than Hal s father (Hotspur died at age thirty nine) (Rowse 44), Shakespeare paints the portrait of Hotspur and Hal as contemporaries, following poet Daniel s lead (Drabble 475). Rowse does note, however, that Shakespeare did capture the essence in Hotspur of something not grown up about this fighting man, who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Liberal Arts Degree Benefits The use of a liberal arts degree is considerably useful and you should certainly strive towards one. The professor in this essay believes that the perception of getting a liberal arts degree is commonly misconceived as being a degree for hobbies and not for the workforce. The argument centers around the many uses of a liberal arts degree that offer people multiple opportunities for them to find a career. The point of this essay is to evaluate and provide facts of the uses of these degrees and how these degrees will help you in the workforce. The earning of liberal arts degrees is not simply luxury that you can t afford, rather it s a skill that is earned and used in everyday life. The common misconception that the author goes into is that liberal arts degrees are simply a luxury that we cannot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When in reality there are plenty of jobs looking for certain employees with these acquired set of skills. The idea that you get a degree just to get a high paying job is a very misguided suggestion. The reason why this is the case is that most people when they earn their degree they will immediately get a high paying job. The process of getting a career is what makes enticing other people to get a liberal arts degree difficult. It sends the wrong message saying that you have to get a job in a said career immediately after you graduate. The author brings up that the problem with this sentiment is that most great jobs don t even exist yet. It is proven that by getting a liberal arts degree will allow you to gain a well established job in due time. Think of it as an investment into education except the education that you are investing are the things that you enjoy doing in life and most likely a job will be created for that field. • 9. How Conflict Affects Relationships I feel as though that sometimes no one will help those with conflicts, perhaps because they don t know what to do or maybe because they think the person should work through it themselves. Those are two different reactions, but the second one is more harsh. The first means you probably have at least attempted to help, but the second one seems almost selfish, like you know that person enough to know they can and can t handle by themselves. Truthfully, we do not know what we, ourselves, can handle often times. Those to seem to have their fair share of similarities and differences, but I have seen they don t help because they truly believe there is nothing that can be done, that it s hopeless. Ordinarily, conflicts as a child affects people a lot, whether that be minor or major conflicts, they affect how you may see certain things. No matter the conflicts, though, whether they be societal or with someone, they seem to always affect how you feel about yourself and how you deal with internal conflicts. • 10. The Effects Of Local Pollution On The World Energy Outlook... The successful outcome of COP21 has raised hopes and expectations of concerted global efforts to tackle climate change, and brought forward a whole raft of challenging questions: How will this affect the momentum behind the deployment of key renewable technologies and the drive for greater energy efficiency? Ample supply is keeping downward pressure on fossil fuel prices, coal, oil and natural gas. When and how will market dynamics change or might lower prices for some fuels be here to stay? The impact of local pollution, often energy related, on air quality is a matter of rising social and political concern in many countries. How can governments act to tackle this problem and what would these actions mean for the energy sector? The World Energy Outlook 2016 published by the International Energy Agency (IEA) is coming out this month and will seek to shed some light on these questions with insightful analysis. In the meantime, there is one matter that everyone can agree on: for the near future, energy demand will continue to grow. How it is produced and used will be a critical factor in the future of the global economy, geopolitics, and the environment. With that in mind, McKinsey took a hard look at the data, modeling energy demand by country, sector, and fuel mix, with an analysis of current conditions, historical data, and country level assessments. Board of Education case, little enactment was made in the Charlotte Mecklenburg, North Carolina s school structure. There are 107 schools altogether, in which the student population is 84000. Within the structure, there are 21 schools in which 14000 African Americans attend that are 99% of their race only. The rest of the African American students, about 10000 students, attend integrated school. In this case, the plaintiff, Swann, had come forth to bring the board of education to the court. It all started when Dr. Darius Swann, professor at Johnson C. Smith University, wanted to enroll his child to an almost all white school closer to his home, which he was rejected. 5) Issues: There were many issues in this case and they were: 1) whether or not the suggested plan would actually end segregation 2) if the courts are protected under the fourteenth amendment to take action to end the segregation in schools. 6) Decision and Rationale: District Court ordered the school system to create a plan that would allow for improvements for the integration and finally end the segregation. • 13. The And Its Influence On The Art World Interpretations of artworks have been widely valued among the art world for centuries. Arguments whether an artwork means one thing, multiple things, or nothing at all is a question that circles the art world, and cause art critics to disagree when interpreting a work. Nihilism, monism, pluralism, intentionalism, romanticism, anti intentionalsim, and post structuralism all contain philosopher s theories that can give art viewers the key to giving meaning to a creation. I prefer the views of pluralism, and post structuralism when looking for the answer of how to interpret an artwork such as J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter series as with most fictional books. Pluralism does not contain one completely right answer, but can disregard certain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I agree with the thought a good work allows for multiple interpretations because when I read J.K. Rowling s series, I became immediately consumed in the fictional world, experiencing and interpreting things as I saw fit. I read the books and never once thought of Dumbledore as gay, but other s that read the books, and the author whom wrote them interpreted him as gay. Neither their interpretations nor my own are wrong according to the pluralist view because both are plausible, viable interpretations. While in the books there is not a single statement that clearly displays Dumbledore as gay, there is also not a statement that clearly displays him being heterosexual, either. With that thought in mind, one could assume that the sexual orientation could not possibly be knowledge attained by anyone because it is not disclosed in the book, but that does not give any justification to dismissing the interpretation of him being either hetero or homosexual. The pluralist view hits a dead end because there is always the open question of how to distinguish between a plausible and implausible interpretation. Most people would argue from a monist stand point that because the author said the meaning was one thing then they must be right, but post structuralist Barthes says that the author is not meant to be the arbiter of meaning (Hicks, 83), but rather the work itself. • 14. Analysis Of Abc s Fice Essay As a predecessor of NBC s The Office, both created by Greg Daniels and Mike Schur, Parks and Recreation (or P R for short) had big shoes to fill. At first, the show did not impress many, and its ratings were low. The first season seemed not to have a place, like a show trying to be something it was not, until it found its footing. Feminism was the missing piece of the puzzle. The show went on to become a success even more so than The Office. So what separates the two? P R eventually gave us something The Office never did: real world issues, served up with clever wit. The fictional worlds most television shows take place in, are almost entirely post feminist. Unlike these sexism free utopias, P R normalizes feminism, reminding us that it exists and is important; it is the stepping stone we need to further conversations about inequality. While the text of P R is consistently the most obviously empowering aspect of the show, production practices and audience consumption are also rich with evidence of this series feminist potential. It s important that I clarify that when I say feminism, I am talking about liberal feminism, or, white feminism. The kind of feminism you see in P R is women having a seat at the table, or breaking the glass ceiling feminism. The show lacks intersectional views and never touches upon racial, class or LGBT issues. Whether or not the use of liberal feminism is problematic or not, is not what I am here to argue. I would like to reiterate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Three of these elements are closely associated with the personal qualities which the counsellor brings to their relationship with clients. These are now famously referred to as the core conditions. The first of these core conditions is empathy, which has been described as the ability to feel what it s like to walk in someone else s shoes, and is very different from sympathy, as this touching animation explains. Language is a communication system. It is true that we use language to communicate with others. However, language is much more than a communication system. Since speakers of Spanish and Russian appear to be normal human beings, we have to conclude that language does not obey the rules of formal logic. Themes Of The Lottery And First They Came Both The Lottery by Shirley Jackson and First They Came by Martin Niemoller have a theme of following the crowd can have disastrous consequences, but they do it in different ways. The short story The Lottery is a story about a small village on a nice and sunny day. Once every year they hold a lottery by drawing names out of a black box. Whoever wins the lottery is then stoned to death. In the poem First They Came the author speaks about his own experiences in concentration camps. He says how they came for certain groups of people then for him. Both of the text deal with disastrous consequences by following the crowd, however they are done is different ways. For one thing, the short story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson has a theme of following the crowd can have disastrous consequences. The story is written in 3rd person point of view, that may not seem like a reason but because of that you can understand how more than one person feels. The story declares, It isn t fair, it isn t right. That was said by Tessie Hutchinson right before she was stoned to death, with the 3rd person point of view, we are able to know how she feels as well as the narrator. Also, the story has that theme because only one person is killed every year opposed to a bunch of people. The Lottery states, Then they were upon her. This shows that only Tessie was being stoned to death. Another reason The Lottery is different than Fist They Came is because it is written as a fictional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sallis and McKenzie (1991) argued that positive experiences in PE could influence children to adopt physically active adult lifestyles which can improve public health. • 28. Pride And Prejudice Character Flaws Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, is a masterfully written novel that reveals timeless life lessons to the reader through its richly developed characters and storyline. Set in England during the early nineteenth century, the story revolves around the flaws of Miss Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, and how their journey in overcoming these flaws eventually brings them together. Even though Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are seen to possess obvious character flaws right away, the author expertly uses the marriages of others, such as that of Elizabeth s parents, to demonstrate just how important virtue is. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy work to overcome their flaws and as a result are seen to have a more happy and blessed marriage, whereas Elizabeth s parents make no attempt to better themselves, resulting in a troubled and unhappy marriage. Jane Austen uses her characters Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, Elizabeth, and Mr. Darcy to show that virtue is essential in the happiness of a marriage, and that without it, a marriage will break down. The virtues and qualities that are lacking in the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet are easily perceived early on in the book. Mr. Bennet is seen to have little patience for those who are not as intelligent as he is, and this includes his wife. For this paper, however, I have narrowed it down to two options: Miami University and the University of Cincinnati. It is a close race between the two, but based on my recent visit to Miami going there for college would be the better option for my future. Money is an issue for mostly all college students, everyone is always worried about the debt they will obtain by going through schooling and how they are going to pay it off. Unless someone can get a full ride scholarship, you are going to have to owe money to the university you go to. • 38. My Birth Of A Baby Girl In 1991, my mother gave birth to a new baby girl my new little sister. It was the moment that my love of children started, I would do everything for her. She had become mine, as she got older I realized she was not a baby anymore and I had to put more into doing for her. By the time I was 15 years old, my cousin gave birth to a little boy. And I would babysit my sister and cousin, I thought it was so fun. So, by this time I had become the new family babysitter. This was the time I knew I wanted to work with children, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. In 1996, I attended Northern High School in Durham NC, and took parenting and childcare classes. In the parenting class we had to take a fake baby home, but the baby did all the things of a real child. When we were given the computerized baby it came with five feelings cards, each card had a different feeling they were feeding, wet, sleepy, love, and want to be held. When the baby would cry, you would have to figure out what the problem was by sticking one of the cards in the baby s back and holding it until it stopped crying if not you would have to change the card. At the end of your time with the baby, the teacher would give you a printout of the time and minutes of what the baby wanted or needed. When taken this class, it showed me that babies cry for different reasons at different times. In 2000 which was my senior year of high school I took Childcare classes, this class put me on the path of working with children. We would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The film is based around a married man, who sends his wife and son to Maine for the summer, but suddenly becomes attracted to a much younger, stunning woman who moves into the apartment above him. Throughout the entirety of the film, Sherman displays a plethora of components of personality and defense mechanisms that align with the psychoanalytic theory that includes rationalization, projection, and repression. It frees me from all the chaos in my life, and I can just let go of things that are worrying me or things I don t need to be in my life. My safe place is my room, my go to friend when I need one, I can always rely on my lovely room. Most rooms fit to people s personality and what they think is the best for them. I was searching ideas on how to recreate my room, and I finally found the best theme for me and how it fit my personality. The room contains four walls, that are joined together, in a rectangle shape. My room is the biggest one in the house, no not because I wanted this room, but because I shared it with my older sister. No the room is all mine. Two the walls that are opposite of each other are painted Peppered Pecan which is a brown color, that I love so dearly. The other two walls are painted just plain white. • 45. Similar Ideas Presented in Blade Runner by Ridley Scott... Bound by different contexts, authors often use a popular medium in order to depict the discontent of the ideas of society. This is evident in the module Texts in Time; as Blade Runner, having been written more than one hundred years after Frankenstein is still able to reflect the ideas proposed in the latter. Blade Runner by Ridley Scott deals with the effects of globalisation and consumerism during 1980 s. Alternatively, the epistolary novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley deals with the kinship to the natural world set in the Romantic Era and enlightenment period. However Blade Runner, although subjected by a different context, also portrays a similar idea to Frankenstein; the fear of science and technology coupled with the value of the definition of a human. Through this commonality, we are able to utilise the values of Blade Runner in order to truly understand Shelley s purpose. During the 1980 s, the increasing amount of industrialisation brought about a new period in time, the Industrial Revolution. Literally revolutionising the world, the Industrial Revolution changed the way the world was perceived, no longer an agricultural based society but instead one overrun with globalisation and consumerism. Scott portrays this in an overindulged manner, looking at the extreme effects to long time globalisation and consumerism. As depicted in the film, the city is subject to a constant downpour of rain surrounded by numerous skyscrapers that effectively block out the view of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cultural Destruction Of Slavery In The Middle East And Africa Two hundred and sixty seven years ago began a time of innovation and invention, as well as the adoption of social theories which brought about change that is seen in the footings of nearly every society today. However, even in times of human advancement which seemed to be for the better, devastating consequences were still seen across the world, particularly in the Middle East and Africa. Hidden in the shadows of history is a dark reality that resulted from advancements made by man; a reality of slavery, both in the restriction of freedoms as well as economic entrapment, and a reality with the blind justification for cultural destruction, using internal strife of developing nations as a weapon in and of itself. Unfortunately, this was not the case, as in most instances the Europeans pushed their own cultural and religious values on the local populations. • 48. The Characteristics Of Jackson Vs. Jackson By Andrew Jackson Defend your manhood and vindicate wanton outrage but, do it calmly. These last words, said by Andrew Jackson s mother, echoed in the seventh presidents mind and heart. Jackson abided by his mother s words to some extent and developed to become an isolated, ambitious, and vengeful man. During his presidency, Jackson was seen as relentless, and at times unconstitutional. No one person would dictate his decisions; not during the Indian Removal Act nor the nullification crisis, not even when closing the Bank of the United States. The glistening and seemingly useless plains west of the Mississippi did not compare to the nutritious lands east of the Mississippi ideal for farming. Jackson desired the land for prospective colonists but knew that it was inhabited by the five civilized tribes: the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole. According to Jackson, he respected the natives but viewed them as lower than that of whites. Therefore, he had every right , in his mind, to move the natives by treaty or by force. Most of the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole subsided to the government and moved westward safely ; Many died to exhaustion, starvation, dehydration, and sickness during and after walk to their permanent lands. The Cherokee, however, opposed of the removal because they had made an effort to blend in to the colonists culture. Jackson still demanded they move westward; Again the Cherokee refused and military force was used. The walk is now known as the Trail of Tears. During the eighteen thirties, many colonists viewed the removal as a positive economic change but in present day America, the removal has inadvertently costed the government billions of dollars. If Jackson were to predict that the government would pay the Native Americans billions for their troubles, he would still have followed through with the Indian Removal Act because his actions were not controlled by any external source of information; If Jackson was determined, then he was unstoppable. South Carolina took a stance against the ruthless Jackson, voiding a tariff enforced by the federal government. The doctrine of nullification was advocated by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison who believed that states ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An Exhibit Of The National Air And Space Museum In 1993, a plan to build an exhibit of the Enola Gay in the National Air and Space Museum received immense amounts of criticism from military historians, journalists, and veterans, as they felt that it didn t correctly portray the Japanese and those in the American armed forces during the war. The book s authors offer theories ranging from historical context, how Japan s role in the war was interpreted, the American people s discomfort regarding Truman s order to drop the bomb, the mood of Americans during Vietnam, and the American lives spared as a result of the bomb. Edward Linenthal s Anatomy of a Controversy conveys that Martin Harwit, the director of the National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution, wanted to transform the day of August 6. The anniversary of Hiroshima had previously been a day of protest and recrimination, and Harwit s goal in mind was to turn the anniversary into one of reflection. If the exhibit was perceived in the wrong way, Harwit feared it could be interpreted as celebration (Linenthal, 19). Veterans who were aboard the B 29 airplane were the first to direct their criticism over the exhibit, arguing that the exhibit would not be displayed correctly. It was an insult to every soldier, sailor marine and airman by not clearly describing that Japan had actually caused the United States intervention in the war (Linenthal, 20). At least one of the four principles of medical ethics that guide nurses will have to be put into play when confronted with ethical issues. The outbreaks of the HIV/AIDS virus can be seen as an example for ethical issues posed by epidemic emergencies. According to Chiappelli et al. (2015), ethical dilemmas observed during this outbreak includes isolation and quarantine; privacy and confidentiality; and the interpretation of ethical norms across different ethno cultural settings. In such cases, ethical guidance for pandemic planning is generally concerned with procedural notions of justice (Njozing, Edin, San Sebastian, Hurtig, 2011).
