A 18-year-old female presented with a mobile swelling in her right breast for 8 months. Ultrasound revealed a well-defined encapsulated mass in the retroareolar region of the right breast with whorled appearance, posterior acoustic enhancement, and tiny specks of calcification. Color Doppler showed non-chaotic vascularity within the mass and at the periphery. The mass was diagnosed as a fibroadenoma based on its characteristic ultrasound features.

This study compared outcomes of breast fibroadenoma resection using two different incision types - through an overlying incision (FETOI) or through a periareolar incision (FETPI). 76 patients underwent FETPI and 82 underwent FETOI. FETPI took slightly longer and had slightly more blood loss but differences were clinically insignificant. FETPI provided good cosmetic results if patient selection criteria like tumor size and location were followed. While disrupting fewer milk ducts, FETPI carried a risk of nipple sensation loss depending on incision location. Acute tenosynovitis

Anencephaly

Early detection of anencephaly can be attempted via ultrasound as early as 14 weeks gestation by assessing the frontal bones, but diagnosis should not be made before 10 weeks. The outcome of anencephaly is always fatal and termination is offered.
Pedicle artery sign
1. The pedicle artery sign refers to visualization of a feeding artery in the pedicle or stalk of an endometrial lesion on color Doppler sonography.
2. The pedicle artery sign can help identify endometrial polyps and differentiate them from other lesions like subendometrial fibroids.
3. Demonstrating the pedicle artery sign may negate the need for sonohysterography to show an endometrial polyp.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).

Maintained nonchaoticvascularity in the substance and the periphery of the lesion. No perilesional stranding / satellite nodules appreciated. The lesion rests on the pectoralis bed with maintained interface and fat planes. Mobility present on compression .

Posterior acoustic enhancement ( 17% to 25%). MR appreciates the septations better.
