Subject research • So far China met the representatives of the Taliban and the Taliban delegation in July to talk about future relationships and the future of the Xinjiang province of China which borders with Afghanistan and has a large Muslim population • Many believe that the US pulling out of Afghanistan will create a vacuum that Beijing will try to fill but it looks unlikely that they will have a military presence in the country. This does however put more pressure on Taiwan as China now no longer have to think about the US presence in Afghanistan allowing them more space and Resorces to direct at Taiwan. • Shortly after the capital fell to the Taliban, a spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry said Beijing is “ready to develop good-neighbourliness and friendly cooperation” with the Afghanistan. • The relationship between China and the Taliban is “tricky” because Beijing targets what it sees as religious extremism among Muslims in Xinjiang, said Ian Johnson of the Council on Foreign Relations.
- 7. Practice interview • For this interview I talked to Lucas Highem about his lover of Italian neorealism, Stanley Kubrick and British cinema. This interview was recorded on the grass outside of college. The interview goes on for 28 minutes. Technical terminology to describe the style of filming and the creative process that went into making the films of the genre talked about. I have learnt that it is important to plan a location beforehand and to get the adequate equipment so that the interview sound as good as possible and looks as good as possible. The interview included 6 main questions but also some improvised questions as well just to make it flow more and mainly because I wanted to find out more about the topic.
- 8. Reflections • 1. I think I created the questions so that they weren't too vague but also detailed enough so that I could get a lot of detail and find out a lot about the topic. • 2. I also think I picked a good location for the interview it wasn’t echoey at all and we didn’t have that much distractions and background noise. • 3. I think the way the interview flowed was good the way we did it was that it wasn’t out of place but also so that it made a good link between the topics.
- 9. Reflections pt2 • 1. One thing I think I could have done better is made the questions about more than just the specific genre I would have liked to see Lucas's views on the more modern films not just the older ones. • 2. I think could have spent more time looking for a location for the interview because as there weren't that many distractions at the location there was a lot of wind, and you could hear the cars on the main road behind us • 3. I should have filmed the interview as just the audio may be a bit confusing for a listener this also shows that I should have had better equipment such as a mic and a good camara just so that the interview looks and sounds better.
