2. Existing Product
I like this photo a lot. The way you have the car in the centre of the photo but also in the
background you have an old workshop. I also like how the doors are the same colour as
the car In a dark green. The yellow jacks holding the car up contrast with the rest of the
car because the car is a dark colour with the pop of yellow and the warm colours in the
back right of the photo.
3. Existing Product
This is Jakie Stewart's F1 car I
love the blue and white but also
how the reflections of the light
bring out the body shape of the
car. The little touch of silver in
the rowel bar and one of the rear
suspension components make
the blue stad out more. The
white also makes the blue stand
out with the black 3 in the white
circle. Another thing that stands
out is the sort of worn-out
Scottish flag below the driver's
name.
4. Existing Product
This is one of my favourite
photography books manly because of
the way its laid out, with a soft British
racing green Lether like material with
gold writing In the centre of the front
cover. The edge of the pages are green
so when the book is closed it looks like
it's in a case. Once you turn the front
cover over the page after is bright pink
to contrast the dark green with the
bright pink. I also like the way the
photos are laid out In big one to a page
with where the photo was taken on the
left side. And then at the end of the
book there is a contact sheet type
layout of all the photo in the book.
5. Existing Product
I like this book because of the way the
he edits reflected light out of them. On
the front cover I like how you have the
photo in the centre and on the top in
silver writing is the name of the book
and underneath the photo is the
photographer. I also like the way he
lays out the inside of the book with the
same photo on each page but there
edited diffrently for exampel on one
page there is a photo of a concret
beem with a yelow fence around it one
one page the you can see the beem
and the fence on the other page you
can onlt see the fence.
6. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
• The common facture of the research I did was with the photos there focused on a
specific part of the car and have colours that complement each other.
• With the book they focus on the lighting and the part of the thing that there
shooting. the books also are very minimalistic with a cople of words on each page
the front covers are also very simple, and I like that.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on
work?
• The aspects of my research that will make it into my project are the simplicity of
the books and the lay out with one photo on the right page and what the photo is
on the left page. Also, the photos are going to be of specific things on the
cars not and some will have contrasting colours in them.
7. Target audience
• My target audience for this project is mainly people who like:
– Cars/appreciate design
– Photographic exhibitions
– All age ranges and all genders
9. Interview questions/structure of interview.
As a classic car owner, I'm interviewing you about your passion with cars.
I'm curating a photography exhibition on classic cars with photos that Ive taken myself the title is Style,
Elegance and Desire, does that sound like an exhibition that you would want to see?
• Just to set the scene, can you tell me all the classic cars you’ve owned in
your lifetime?
• Where does your love for classic cars come from?
• What's the attraction of owning a classic car?
• Is there a certain type of classic car that you are attracted to and why?
• Is there a particular car you wish you had never let go of?
• And is there a particular car that you wish you had never bought?
• What's your dream classic car if money was no object?
• What does your collection of classic cars mean to you?
10. Interview 1
• https://youtu.be/-XawKYk4nfU
• This is the first interview as part of my audience research. It is
focus on the people own and love classic cars. Thissi and
interview with my grandad who has owned many classic cars
in his lifetime.
11. Interview 1
• Observation: this fits with my target audience because he
loves cars and knows about them.
• What this says about my audience: The people who love
classic cars love them for what they mean to them. The cars in
my photos are cars from the 60s and cars that are expensive
and beautifully designed.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product
will appeal to this audience because of the price of the cars
but also the cars were released when they were children, so
they remember seeing the cars out in the streets.
13. Interview 2
• Observation: this interview was with Cathrin and Richard
Slack their background in cars is upgrading cars that are
alright and making them go faster they also have a collection
of Porsche.
• What this says about my audience: this shows that the target
audience comes from different backgrounds. It also shows
that the people who like cars don’t have to be gender of age
specific. It also says that my audience appreciates all cars not
just a select few.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: my product
will appeal to this audience because they can appreciate the
style and design and history of the cars.

16. Production experiments
This is the first idea for my project. It was to make a car
magazien with one of the photos I took as the front
cover and the articles about interviews I did for my
audience research (the photo used in the draft isn't mine
just looking a a posibl layout). I was going to have photos
of the cars the where owned by the people I
interviewed. But I never did this partly because of covid
but also I was split between doing this and a
photographical beook with some different photos of
cars. There was never realy any experements for the
book because I knew what I wanted and knew how I
could do it so I didn’t see the point at experimenting
with different designs.
