• Outro “Thank you, for joining me on the show, tune in next week for more politics made simple!”
• Possible topics that could be discussed, with my interviewee: NHS, British Army (talk about the effects that could maybe have, with the UK leaving
the EU), Politicians (talk about how certain ones are dealing with UK leaving EU), Education (talk about the effects that will have on UK leaving EU)
3. Interview Questions
• If you had been given the chance to vote in the European Referendum, what would you have
voted and why?
• If another European Referendum was to be held, would you vote differently? And why?
• Do you think leaving the European Union brings positives or negatives to the UK?
• What do you hope to see happen to the UK after the result of the vote gets put in to action?
• Do you think we can come to a good deal agreement?
• I have decided to ask this questions, because I think they will get me a detailed response back
from my interviewee, I also think that they cover all of the main issues that I’m wanting to
explore during the interviews.
4. Jingle Lines
• “Hello, and welcome to Yorkshire Central FM”
• “Hello, you’re with Kieran Bradley. On Yorkshire Central FM, making politics
simple.”
• “Hello and you’re with Kieran Bradley, playing all the best music across Yorkshire.”
•
• “Thank you, for joining me on the show, tune in next week for more politics made
simple!”
I have decided to explore with a number of different jingle lines, that I
could possible use for my documentary. I have decided to go for the line
“Hello, you’re with Kieran Bradley. On Yorkshire Central FM, making
politics simple. I have chosen this line because it states the stations
name, show name and the presenters name. This will let the listener
know straight away what they are listening to and on what station.
5. Sound Effects
Sound
Effect
How You Could Make
It
Flag Waving Record the sound of cloth, or
even paper, being waved.
Recorded with a voice
recorder.
Door Closing
(Boarder)
Record the sound of a door
being closed, recorded with
a voice recorder.
People speaking Record the sound of people
speaking, recorded with a
voice recorder.
Car Sounds Record the sound of passing
cars, recorded with a voice
recorder
Sound
Effect
How You Could
Make It
The sound of
Big Ben
Find a strong piece of
metal that could echo,
hit it with an object of
some sort, record the
sound on a voice
recorder.
I have decided to use big ben sound effects, because I think
that sound effect would fit in really well with my
documentary, as my documentary has a patriotic theme to
it, and as it’s based on the UK. I have decided to use the
flag waving sound effects because, going back to what I said
before, I think this would fit in really well as my
documentary is based on the UK and I think that would tell
the listener this through this sound effect. I have decided to
use the sound effect of people speaking, because I think
that would fit in really well with my documentary as the
topic is Brexit, and that in it’s own way will have people
speaking. I have decided to use the sound effects of cars
driving past, as I think this will give my documentary a ”city
feel” and make the listener think that my documentary is
based within a city.
6. Music

This will be played
throughout the show, as

This will be one of the
songs I play
Going Higher https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-
music/track/going-higher
I have decided to use the song “Beyond The Line” because throughout my documentary I’m interviewing
people and there telling me there hope of us staying in the EU, but as we all know we are leaving, and for
people that want this, it can be sad, and this song has quite a sad feeling to it, so I think it would fit perfectly.
I have decided to use the song “Happy, Happy Fun Joy” because I think this would fit in really well at the
beginning of my documentary, because it’s uplifting and positive and I think it will also engage with the listener
and make them want to listen to my documentary. I have decided to use the song “Going Higher” in my
documentary because I think that it is positive and will do the job of keeping my audience engaged.
7. Running Order
Timing Content
0:30 Introduction to radio documentary, with jingle
1:00 Introduce the interviews, and tell the listeners what the
documentary will be about.
1.30 Ask the first set of questions
2.00 Play a song
2.30 Ask the second set of questions.
3.00 Play a song
3.30 Introduce the second interviewee
4.00 Ask the final set of questions
4.30 Play a song
5.00 Outro, with music.
I have decided to plan my running order, this way because I think it is
the most realistic way of me being able to fit everything in. I also
have made sure it stays in line with my time management.
8. Resources
Equipment/ Props Locations needed
The equipment, I will be is a voice recorder.
I will be using this when I interview people
within my target group. I will also be using
a number of different types of software, I
will be using Adobe Audition to edit my
interviews and also add jingles that I have
made. I will also be using Photoshop to
create my logo on and also explore the
different colours that I intend to use. I will
also be creating a script, containing the
different questions that I will be asking my
interviewees.
I will be using the studio in college, when I
come to conduct my interviews, I have
chosen this location, because I think it
would best suit me for interviewing. I have
also decided to do an interview, on
location because I think that it will add a
sense of realism to my interview and U
think it will attract my target audience. I
have decided to do this because then I will
have a mixture of both location types. I
have chosen the studio, because it will be
quiet and has everything I need to conduct
my interview.
9. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
A potential issue, could be that the computer
that I plan to edit my audio on, does not have
the software needed for me to my editing.
A solution to this would be, for me to make
sure that the computer that I plan to do my
editing on has the correct software needed.
A potential issue, could be that equipment may
not be available for me to record my radio
documentary.
A solution to this would be, for me to make
sure that I book the equipment in advance, to
make sure that I get it on time.
A potential issue could be, that I lose my work
because I didn’t save regularly.
A solution to this would be, for me to save my
work regularly. By doing this I ensure that none
of it will get lost. I would also ensure that I
create a backup for my work.
10. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
A potential issue could be, that I fall behind
with my work, if this happens it may lead to me
not completing the course and ultimately not
getting the grade I need.
A solution to this would be, to make sure that I
use my frees and evening’s to catch up on any
outstanding work, and also ask for help if I am
struggling.
A potential issue could be, that the studio could
become unavailable for whatever reason.
A solution to this could be, to make sure that I
have a backup place available if that happens.
A potential issue could be, that the person that
I had planned to interview my be ill or out of
college.
A solution to this would be, to make sure that I
had another person available for me to
interview.
11. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
eye strain This issue could be avoided by, taking regular
breaks from looking at the screen.
wrist pains This issue could be avoided by, making sure that
I am positioned correctly and are comfortable.
Trips and falls This issue could be avoided, by making sure that
there are no leads or other object that may be a
hazard when walking around the classroom.
12. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Headache This issue could be avoided by, making
sure that I drink plenty of water and take
regular breaks.
Sound levels/ hearing loss This issue could be avoided by, making sure that
I control the sound levels correctly and make
sure that I don’t have the volume to high when
listening to my audio.
Fatigue This issue could be avoided by, making sure that
I get the correct amount of sleep and that I eat
correctly so I then don’t start to lose focus.
13. Release Forms
I have decided to interview these two people, because I think they will give me
an honest and raw take on how they personally feel about the UK leaving the
EU, I think if I had been given more time I would of tried to get an interview
with a person who’s view was to stay in the EU just so then it balances it out,
makes it even and makes it not just focusing on one side.
15. Planning (Mood Board)
I decided to create a Mood Board full of pre-existing radio logo’s, I thought this would be
a good idea because it gives me a chance to get inspiration from these images, for when I
come to create my own radio logo, I have found a number of different logo’s some are
vibrant, some are not. Looking at these logo’s gives me an indication of how I should
make my logo, I plan to make it simple but still attract my target audience. For example
the BBC logo is made up of two colours, black and white with three squares behind each
letter, this logo is very plain but still manages to stand out to it’s chosen audience. They
have used San Serif font as well, I will be taking inspiration from this logo especially the
font that they have used.
