Evaluation for
Vanessa’s sound unit
Here on this presentation I will be talking about my overall thoughts on
the sound unit and how things went.
What went well?
 As a group we worked well, our communicational skills could have been a
little better when recording but overall we eventually got into a flow and
maged to answer all the questions with ease. We had to take it seriously
because it was a very serious topic.
 we went to a silent place so there was no background noises, we also used a
zoom mic to record our voices and answers.
 And we all already knew how to use logic pro so it was quite simple to get
through with the editing.
Have we met the aims of the brief in terms of
audience, topic, format set by culture east?
 We chose a topic we would all relate to, and that was terrorism and bombings
because we see this very regularly on the news for example Syria, Russia etc.
 We met the aims because we gave questions to the interviewee and he
answered them all.
 We got set a time limit of 5 minutes and we reached that, it was just around
5 minutes.
To what extent does you're news segment fit
with youre original ideas for an audio piece
 We had many other questions to ask, but some of them were repetitive so we
decided to cut them out and just use 5 affective questions
 Because we are not politics of anything we were also considerate to the
interviewee and asked questions that were relatively simple and easy to
answer because they weren’t biased.
What could we have improved on
 I think that we could have had more than one person answering the questions
because it would given more views and opinions on whatever the question
was.
 Also we should of cut out the interview because there was bits of the
interview where it cut out before the person stopped talking
 But overall I think the editing went well
 We also should put in the soundtrack for longer and faded in and out instead
of having it all at one volume.
