My chosen format for my dps!
For my DPS I have chose to write an interview. This is mainly based on
my previous magazine questionnaire. The question asked what
magazine feature do you think is most important? And the most
popular response was interviews. I also think that they are the easiest
to write yet are the most effective in the end.
Kerrang interview
In this kerrang interview most of the questions seem very informal. They adopt an almost chatty tone and make it seem like the interviewer and the
celebrity are like good friends. This allows the reader a better insight into the celebrity's life because rather than it being very professional formal
questions, they seem more open and light hearted. For example, they ask do you ever have a casual Friday instead of saying something more formal like do
you ever have days where you can relax instead of being in the public eye? All of the questions are also open ended and intentionally vague. Enabling the
celebrity to give a detailed response. For example: do you ever have a casual Friday?
Q interview
Unlike the kerrang interview where
they have random informal
questions this interview by q
magazine is more progressive
where the interview tells the reader
a story. Each question leads onto
another from the given response.
For example the interviewer askes
“how bad did it get by the end of
that tour” . The response includes
detail stating “ I was doing pretty
hard drugs” and then the next
question leads on from that asking
“what drugs? "it's also more fluent
and conversational. However on
the downside this means that the
interview can only go where the
responses take it rather than having
a set group of questions.
Rock Sound interview
This interview by rock sound
magazine is once again
completely different than the
previous article. As apposed
to having many questions
this interview is very brief. It
also doesn’t really as any
intrusive questions, which
are often the types of
questions that fans want to
hear. All three questions are
strictly professional, but they
don’t really ask anything
interesting, interesting,
furthermore I feel that the
first question is far too
specific as it doesn’t allow
the band to expand as it isn't
an open ended question.
Rock sound interview
Even though there are more
questions than the previous Rock
sound interview it still adopts the
same type of questions that are
incredibly specific allowing only
for vague responses. I personally
don’t think this is a great
interview as it gives the
interviewer no insight into the
singer’s life as it only answers the
interviewers random questions
rather than letting the celebrity
develop their own detailed
response.
Planning questions
When conducting my questions I want to format it
like kerrang. I think that this will be the most
successful as I think that not only is reasonably light
hearted with an informal tone, it also asks the
open-ended questions that allow the celebrity to
give detailed responses, which is what the reader
wants. My questions will include some that are
about their profession but also some that enquire
about their personal life allowing the reader to have
an insight into what they wouldn’t have known.
