After reading the assigned short stories I decided to use the first book of the Faerie Queene and
Beowulf. These stories have numerous uses of imagery, Throughout Beowulf there are creatures and
battles that are so epic they literally pop off the page because of the way ( the author s) described
them. In the first book of the Faerie Queene (the author) there are also a wide variety of different
monsters and battles and stunning characters, but they also connect with history.
I decided to choose Imagery because both of these stories are full of different creatures and scenes that
need imagery to be told in its full glory. Beowulf is action packed and has descriptive battles and the
Faerie Queene has many historical references that involve imagery.
In the Faerie Queene Spenser uses imagery with what was happening politically or religiously at the
time. There are many examples throughout the story that suggests this. At the time Spenser wrote the
Faerie Queene it was during the English reformation when England dropped Catholicism and turned

Methodology
The audit will be conducted on an approximate 4 wards, these wards comprise the individuals most
likely to be high risk and in need of a red tray , such wards include:
1. Stroke ward
2. Elderly ward
3. Rehabilitation ward
4. Paediatric ward
The data for the audit will be collected from patients and ward/nursing staff in these wards. The data

The observations of mealtimes (See appendix E) will be analysed by distributing the collected data on
a bar chart; where the data can be interpreted more efficiently by displaying the total numbers of
patients who require assistance, receive assistance and receive red trays across all the observations for
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The analysis of the patients questionnaire may be time consuming, as it s in paper format meaning that
the questions and respondent data will have to be manually transferred into spreadsheet software, with
each question assigned a column, and row for each person s answer, with each answer being assigned
a code . Once all the data from each questionnaire has been entered in the spreadsheet; it should be
checked for accuracy. The data can then be transferred to a bar chart, to display the data, for simple
analysis.
The ward staff questionnaire (See Appendix D) is quantitative and can be analysed by reading the
questionnaires, putting them into categories and assigning codes . Though, this is a time consuming
method and highly subjective with the questionnaires having an increased risk of being interpreted
incorrectly.
Ethics Confidentiality
One major ethical concern is to make sure informed consent is given by the patients to allow for (1)
the conduction of observations on them during mealtimes and (2) their participation in questionnaires.

It does not take much for someone to realize that in today s society, there are still inequalities in our
country. America may be a hundred and fifty years past the civil war when white and black racial lines
were erased, but they are more present today than in recent years. The recurrence of these racial lines
has been caused by the economic gap, violence on the streets, and miscommunication of facts.
The economic gap has been growing drastically between racial and ethnic backgrounds. According to
a study by the Pew Research Center this wealth gap has been growing since the Great Recession. In
their study, they found that white individuals had thirteen times greater net worth and when looking at
white to Hispanic, white individuals had ten times greater net worth. White individuals in the study
had a median net worth in 2013 $141,900. Black individuals had a median net worth of $11,000.
Hispanics have a median net worth of $13,700 (Fry and Kochhar). Racism is not just centered on the
amount of money each individual has but the effects of not having enough to provide the necessities
and what it can do to an individual in need. When children are starving and the mother is not able to
provide for them something clicks and all morality is out the window. The mother does not have a
choice but to break the law in any manner to get ahead because she is placed on such an uneven
playing field.

operations. This compilation not only provided exceptionally informative articles, but also many
charts, graphs, and other depictions to back up the points the contributors were making. Many of the
remarks in these articles seemed to be simple fixes or strategies that do not seem that hard to
implement, but in reality they are so challenging because making changes can be a big deal for any
organization. All ten of the articles offered a distinct perspective and innovative ideas that future
healthcare leaders such as myself could use moving forward. Some of the key points highlighted were
to implement changes on smaller scales first and then go larger, to tackle issues as they come up and
not put them off for the future, and also the importance of all staff working together as a team rather
