Similarities Between Neo-Capitalism And Neo-Liberalism
Despite the fact that there are some similarities between neo realism and neo liberalism, it shall be the
differences between these theories that will be the focus of my attention, as it will help me to
determine more rigorously which of the arguments is the more convincing. The points of comparison
shall be the effects of the anarchical international system, and thus, the extent to which cooperation
can be achieved, the importance of relative and absolute gains, the conflict between state capabilities
and interests, and finally the importance of institutions and regimes. It is important to note that neo
realism is often also called structural realism, and neo liberalism neo liberal institutionalism. As the
question prefers to call the theories neo realism and neo liberalism, this is what I shall do throughout.
The first thing to consider is the effects of the international system, and what this means for the
prospects of cooperation. Lamy asserts that both [neo realism and neo liberalism] agree that the
international system is anarchic . I question that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I feel they are right to assert that cooperation will only occur if sates want it to, and do not agree that it
is always within state interest to cooperate. I am certain that relative gains are an important
consideration for certain states and cannot be ignored. It appears that states focus on the capabilities of
other states because these are easier to measure than intentions. Nor am I convinced that institutions
will continue to play a vital role in checking the actions of states. To put it another way, maybe, as all
liberalisms are prone to do, the problem with neo liberalism is that it focuses on how the world ought
to be, rather than how it is. I happen to believe that neo realist focus on anarchy as the dominating
force in the international system is a more accurate reflection of the world we live

Vladek s Confusion
To be in the Holocaust as a jewish citizen is a frightening stretch. Overcoming through all the odds
that the concentration camps, Gestapo, and the war provided is a rewarding achievement for a lucky
Jewish subject. Not for Vladek Spiegelman. In Artie Spiegelman s Graphic Novel Maus, he uses
pictures to describe his father s journey through the Holocaust. Vladek loses almost everything he
loves his business, home, and most of his family. This tests his character throughout the story and
ultimately results him being bitter towards life after. However the Holocaust forces Vladek to rely on
inanimate objects to get him through this time. He confuses people and ... Show more content on

love for Anja is a mild distraction that he has a special relationship with currency and his love life is a
form of it. World War 11 makes Vladek s unique bond with currency a valuable resource for him as a
tool for survival. With the war hitting the jewish community the hardest, because of Vladek and Anja s
family wealth they are able to enjoy the luxurious life style longer. Vladek even says When first I
came home it looked exactly so as before I went away. (Spiegelman 76) The panel prievews outside

affect them. Even though all is calm then the family knows this will not be safe for them forever. With
their money running low they rely on Vladek s love for currency to help them keep the family going.
It is the shift of currencies that Vladek is able to keep things running smoothly for he and his family.

Urinary System Lab Report
The urinary system s primary function is to filter the blood and remove the body s excess ions as well
as waste, all whilst preserving water and other substances the body requires. The major components of
this system are the kidneys, ureters and the urethra [1].
The nervous system receives its continuous supply of nutrients from the blood any disruption to this
flow, and brain damage or death could result. The stability of the internal environment is known as
homeostasis. Under normal circumstances, water consumption and loss vary significantly. Therefore,
it is vital that humans have mechanisms to control this system. In a 70kg person, approximately 60%
of that body weight is water [2].

The Environmental Effects Of Plastics
Plastic bags have been a popular commodity since the 1970 s due to their convenience and sturdiness;
however, plastic bags are a victim of their own success. These flyaway bags have detrimental effects
on the environment; they fill the trees and clog the storm drains. In response, many states in the U.S.
have imposed bag taxes in an effort to reduce their use. These taxes have reduced the frivolous use of
plastic bags and have heightened our awareness of their detrimental effects, but concerns arise over
the negative effects of the taxes on the economy and, surprisingly, the environment as well.

This poses an economic threat for retailers. The economic advantage of plastic bags are too significant
for retailers to ignore. While advocates of these taxes argue that it will reduce the use of plastic bags,
many argue that these taxes fail to protect the environment and economy of the U.S.
Over a 100 cities across the U.S. have imposed taxes on plastic bags after watching countries in
Europe have favorable results. Tony Lowes, director of the Friends of the Irish Environment, claims
that Ireland s 15 cent tax on plastic bags has resulted in a 95 percent reduction in their use (qtd. in
Roach 3). Similarly, cities in the U.S. imposed taxes in an effort to achieve effective results. A bag tax
in Washington D.C. has resulted in a 50 percent decrease in single bag usage (Bayly 3). On the other
side of the country, Los Angeles went from using 2.2 million bags a year to using 125,000 a year after
the tax on bags went into effect (Bayly 3); nonetheless, advocates of plastic bags have brought to light
the harsh reality of taxes. Bag taxes pose an economic threat for both retailers and consumers. Areas
that have imposed taxes experienced a decrease in sales while areas not subject to taxes experienced
an increase in sales. According to a survey conducted by the National Center for Policy Analysis,
these taxes force many stores to reduce their employment by more than 10% (qtd. in Gleason 4).
Plastic bag taxes make grocery shopping unaffordable for families below the

Marketing Analysis Of Sony Playstation 3
Introduction
I chose to conduct a marketing analysis on the Sony PlayStation 3 because it is a product that I am
very familiar with. I have been a PlayStation consumer since 1994 when the first PlayStation was
established. Therefore, since I am a frequent consumer of this product, I have gained some knowledge
of this product over time. When an individual is a frequent consumer of a certain product, the
consumer will eventually become aware or at least have some knowledge of the marketing mix of that
product. However, besides from being a dedicated consumer, I was also involved in selling this
product as a sales associate and this gave me some insight on the marketing mix of this product. As a
sales associate, I also received some training from marketers from the Sony Corporation on how to
position the PlayStation 3 in an electronics store. Furthermore, I feel knowledgeable about this
product due to the exposure that I have had with it.
Product and Positioning
The PlayStation 3 is a high definition gaming console equipped with a Blu ray player which is
manufactured by Sony computer Entertainment. Sony PlayStation3 uses the newest and greatest
technology to appeal to their customers. The PS3 offers the most advanced visuals and audio
compared to any other gaming console. According to Brian Moats (2008), the people who are most
interested in staying up to date with the newest technology are usually men of the ages 15 30. To reach
that market, PlayStation 3 makes

Sexual Assault And Child Molestation Cases Essay

The Honorable Alan M. Wilner
County Courts Building

Re: Propensity Evidence in Sexual Assault/Child Molestation Cases
Dear Judge Wilner:
As Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, I am writing to request that the Rules Committee
establish a rule to allow for the admissibility of certain evidence of similar behavior by the defendant
in sexual assault and child molestation cases. The adoption of such a rule will effectively end the
current disunion between the Federal Rules of Evidence and the Maryland Rules of Evidence.
As you know, under Maryland Rule 5 404(b), evidence of prior crimes may be admitted to show some
special relevance to the issues in the present case in very limited factual scenarios. The evidence may
not be used to show that the accused is a bad person but it should be permitted to illustrate (1) the
defendant s motive to commit the crime, (2) the defendant s intent to commit the crime, (3) that the
defendant engaged in a common scheme or plan to achieve an overarching criminal enterprise, (4) that
the defendant was, in fact, the person who committed the crime, (5) and that there was a lack of
mistake or accident on the part of the defendant when the crime was committed. With the adoption of
Rule 5 404(b), came the growing list of exceptions. The exceptions specifically listed in the rule are
not a laundry list of exceptions; they are a representative list of

Edward Snowden was an NSA employee, and disclosed top secret information about the NSA

Baltimore: A Community in Crisis Since the 19th century, the illicit drug, heroin, has been a part of
American society. When heroin was first discovered it was thought to be a wonder drug because of the
euphoric feeling a person is said to feel after using it. However, once the debilitating effects of this
highly addictive drug was realized the anti drug law, the Harrison Narcotics Act, was enacted that
restricted its use to medicinal purposes only. In 1920, heroin was banned altogether through the
Dangerous Drug Act (Habal, 2011). Heroin for the most part was thought to have gone underground

2000, Baltimore has grappled with how to effectively address the problem of [heroin] drug addiction
in the city for decades (Tsui amp; Rukow, 2007, p. i). Baltimore has more people addicted to heroin,

In this real world paper, I researched a case study of Swedish company and its subsidiary in China. In
this case study, there are different management styles, employee behaviors and communication ways
found between Swedish and Chinese. Both Sweden and China are trying to manage different ways of
thinking and behavior while they are communicating with each other. Therefore, both side of the
company are having a hard time with cross cultural challenges.
The Sweden culture tends to be a country in the lower power distance while China is a high power
distance country. There is an example of high power distance orientation of China. Swedish company

It is another example show the conflict base on individualism vs. collectivism between Swedish and
China. The technical product manager from Swedish company was asking a model for a new product;
however, he got a message written there was a 1mm error of the product they made and asked what
they should do? The manager from Swedish does not understand why the Chinese employee ask him
what should they do instead of adjust the error by themselves. Base on the individual of Swedish, they
would usually manager themselves to make own decision on most of the issues. On the other hand,
Chinese are more collective and most of the decisions would make through discussion with others.
Even though the Chinese managers know that they would need to adjust a new model at the end, they
still decide to notify there is a problem and wait for Swedish manager instruction.
The differences between Chinese and Swedish cultures continue to affect multinational business
development if they do not resolve it. Cross cultural conflicts usually caused by cultural differences of
the company s strategic decisions; in addition, it will disrupt the operation of the enterprise program
and reduce efficiency. Because of the conflicts the various relationships between employees will be
influencing and operating costs will increase. It will greatly reduce the operational efficiency of the
business management organization. Therefore, Swedish managers must understand the

Impressionism is an art movement which was developed in Paris in the 1860s which continued to the
early twentieth century. In impressionism, artists have captures beautiful moments just like while

Essay On Cruise Ship
CRUISE SHIP
A cruise ship or cruise liner is a (usually very large) passenger ship used for pleasure voyages, where
the voyage itself and the ship s amenities are part of the experience, as well as the different
destinations along the way. Transportation is not the prime purpose, as cruise ships operate mostly on
routes that return passengers to their originating port, so the ports of call are usually in a specified
region of a continent.
In contrast, dedicated transport oriented ocean liners do line voyages and typically transport
passengers from one point to another, rather than on round trips. Traditionally, an ocean liner for the
transoceanic trade will be built to a higher standard than a typical cruise ship, including high ... Show

Ocean liner services aimed at passengers ceased in 1986, with the notable exception of transatlantic
crossings operated by the Cunard Line, catering to the niche market who appreciated the several days
at sea away from civilization.
In comparison to liner crossings, cruising voyages gained popularity; slowly at first but at an increased
rate from the 1980s onwards. Initially the fledgling industry was serviced primarily by small
redundant liners, and even the first purpose built cruise ships were small. This changed after the
success of the SS Norway (originally the ocean liner SS France, which was converted to cruising
duties) as the Caribbean s first super ship .
Contemporary cruise ships built in the late 1980s and beyond, such as Sovereign class which broke the
size record held for decades by Norway, show characteristics of size and strength once reserved for
ocean liners some have undertaken regular scheduled transatlantic crossings. The Sovereigns were the
first modern megaships to be built, they also were the first series of cruise ships to include a multi
story atrium with glass elevators. They also had a single deck devoted entirely to cabins with private
balconies instead of oceanview cabins. Other cruise lines soon launched ships with similar attributes,
such as the Fantasy class and Crown Princess. As the veranda suites were

Allegory Of The Republic By Plato s The Republic
Allegory of the Cave is a dialog between Socrates and Gloucon in The Republic written by Plato. The
image of the cave is a universal picture of the human conditions and a complex metaphor that applies
to everyone in society. It questions the mentality and the biased point of view created by the society
and human nature (which relates to stereotyping, something I will explain further into the essay). The
idea delivered through the dialogue thousands of years ago is so general that examples could still be
found in today s society.
Socrates draws the mental image of the cave to his student in the beginning. The cave is long and
dark, but at the opening to the cave you can see some light coming in. In the cave there are humans

In the allegory, his friends who have never left the cave and experienced what that one prisoner has
mock him and look down upon his findings. This leaves the prisoner in a dilemma in expressing and
communicating what is real to them. They tell him that he has been blinded by outside sources and
what they believe is the truth because it has been in front of them all their lives, but the prisoner who
left knows not to believe so because of what he learned. He is then left pondering about what is an
actual truth and what is not, and this is terribly mind blowing. This is why I think the phrase ignorance
is bliss, explains the allegory. Because at the end of the day, the prisoners who never left do not have
to deal with the troubles of wondering about things beyond their created world, while the prisoner that
left and came back must consider both truths brought upon him and make a decision of what to
believe and have the responsibility of creating his own opinion. This responsibility cannot be taken
lightly and can be troubling, while the prisoners who never left do not have this weight on their
shoulders. This is how being ignorant may just be an easier way out then gaining knowledge beyond
comprehensibility. Because overall, it s less to think about; and overthinking is tiring to the

The Pros And Cons Of North Korea Labor Camps
Did labor camps end in 1945? Or, did the world just lose the interest of what is happening globally? In
2014, an increase of interest of North Korea concentration camps trended all over social media.
Citizens worldwide noticed North Korea is the only country you can t see street views on google
earth. This just makes the argument bigger about North Korea denying that these labor camps exist.
After all the evidence and memoirs of North Koreans that have escaped from these labor camps, the
real question is should the United States intervene?
One of the top solutions is for the United States to intervene and liberate all the North Korean
prisoners ( How Did We Get Here? A Timeline of the North Korean Nuclear Threat ). For example,
Kim IL Sung laid down the law in 1972, Enemies of class, whoever they are, their seed must be
eliminated through three generations. (Harden, Page #6) Kim is saying that he wants his country to be
made up of pure, loyal people and wants to kill off the rest. This is why the United States needs to
intervene and go to war with North Korea. We can t let hundreds and thousands of people be killed,
starved, or tortured; it goes against all human rights. The benefits of going to war would be liberating
hundreds and thousands of North Korean prisoners, we would have control of North and South Korea
if the U.S. won and we would be eliminating a dictator who is a major threat as of 2013 ( How potent

The Nature Of Love As Described By Helen Fischer
The evolution of love is ever changing. Its biochemical foundations and its vital importance to human
society are informing and transforming the way we understand ourselves . TED speaker Helen Fischer
states that this expression known as love derives from three basic human neural happenings, sex drive,
romantic love, and attachment. Once all of these stages fall into place within the brain, the
phenomenon known as love occurs, according to Helen Fischer. The depth of it all depends on how
deep, and far the individual has taken the subject of the matter into hand. The concept of love as
described by Helen Fischer focuses on the effects of love on the human body and the human brain.
Love starts off by finding meaning, it can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
once meaning is given to someone, love is unavoidable, which is most likely where the common
expression said by many who love someone is I can t live without you or I am nothing without you
because meaning is what establishes basic human functionality and the sense of self assurance, it
keeps sanity, for most, the majority of the population is very sentimentally knitted within the mind,
whether it be meaning which derives from the love for god, maybe love derives for some from
religious purposes, or from hobby niched people, or simply hugging the one that is most dear. It is in
fact the key element to a person, love, whether it is towards something that is artificial, like a car,
someone who is passionate about cars cannot seem to want to give up wanting to love the vehicle
world simply because it peaks their interest, or gives them joy, all humans have and find something to
love.
When in love, a person who is deeply invested with their significant other will often have found
meaning, thus, love begins to flourish. Often one will not know why they are in love. It could be the
part of the brain in which Helen Fischer describes as a craving, a basic human, functional need. It is
the way of survival and purpose established by the human animal.
The term coinciding with meaning is attachment. This is where it all begins, attachment is when it is

Duckworth Industries
The following is a case study analysis of Duckworth Industries, in particular the company?s incentive

to guide management action. In order to better align the interest of the management with the
shareholders, Mr. Duckworth implemented a variety of new incentive compensation programs: The

The EVA is calculated annually for each business unit by using a formula that ?automatically adjusts
the baseline for calculating next year?s bonus to reflect the actual performance of the prior year?

formula is based on the performance of the prior year in the old department, it will be difficult to get
an accurate bonus figure for the employee?s first year in the new unit. 4.) How should an incentive
compensation plan adopted by a firm relate to its industry type, market stability, and to the economic
health of the firm? Regardless of the industry, an incentive compensation plan needs to have realistic
goals that management can achieve. An incentive compensation plan needs to ensure that the bonuses
paid out do not have a negative impact on the economic health of the company. If a bonus is scaled to
revenue growth, the bonuses paid out may reduce the overall profitability of a company. Additionally,
in unstable markets, it may be impossible to achieve revenue growth goals for a period of time. In an
unstable market, a company may not reach their sales revenues, but they may outperform their peer
companies. In the case study, Duckworth searched to implement an incentive plan that drives senior
management to create wealth. Using a plan like EVA, a company doesn?t need to worry about industry
type, market stability, and economic health. Since EVA goals are

The Effect Of The On Crystallization Of Lysozyme Protein...
This experiment studied the effects different conditions in a reservoir played on the crystallization of
lysozyme protein crystals. Two different conditions were tested in order to find the suitable
combination to yield the largest tetragonal lysozyme crystals that could be utilized in protein structure
identification. The concentration of sodium chloride and the pH levels were subjectively increased
across twelve separate reservoir solutions. Utilizing the hanging drop method, the solutions were left
to crystallize over the span of two weeks. Following the time span, it was found that as the sodium
chloride concentrations increased, production of protein crystals increased. In addition, it was also
found that with an increased pH level in the wells the crystals produced were more defined, larger and
feasible for the tetragonal shape characteristic of lysozyme crystals.
Introduction
Over the past few decades, the scientific community s knowledge of protein structure has increased
exponentially. Through the use of NMR and, primarily, X ray crystallography, valuable information
pertaining to the three dimensional structure of proteins and enzymes alike have been found and
recorded. Understanding protein structures and crystallography methods plays a major role in
purifying drugs as well as pharmaceutical design in order to efficiently deliver drugs in to the body.
(Durbin, Feher, 1996) The formation of viable protein crystals is necessary for crystallography.

Is The Atomic Bomb Justified
1945 was a big year for the world. Tyrannical ruler of Germany, Adolf Hitler, had committed suicide
after realizing that he had lost World War II (Staff, Germany surrenders unconditionally to the Allies at

Jem Bravery In Lord Of The Flies
Throughout the novel, Jem s definition of courage shifts over time, indicative of his maturing
personality. As the story begins, Jem s superficial idea of courage reveals his immature nature, as his
ignorance defines his judgement. At the start of the novel, Jem s idea of bravery is simply touching the
side of the Radley house, and then only because In all his life, Jem had never declined a dare. In this
instance Jem has an urge to boast about his masculinity, in the form of a perceived bravery. However,
contrary to what Jem thinks, this act of courage merely supports his innocence as he is yet to
experience the real plight of society and the true courage which comes with that. With Jem s lack of
understanding, Harper Lee criticises the traditional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While facing a long lasting fight with her addiction to morphine, Ms Dubose s effort to kick this habit
reveals her true fortitude during a dark time for her. Atticus is one of the only characters who
acknowledges this bravery as he tries to show Jem what real courage is. Once again Atticus attempts
to teach the Children the importance of perseverance, not the traditional, masculine and southern idea
of bravery. Lee s inclusion of Ms Dubose s courage is also critical of the stereotypes during the civil
rights movement. After being introduced as a horrible witch like figure, Ms Dubose is eventually seen
as the bravest person [Atticus] ever knew. Through her tremendous courage, Ms Dubose defies her
original stereotype as Lee attempts to picture her dying in goodness. In doing this, Lee criticises the
stereotypes of the 1950 s. Despite not directly linking to the situation of Ms Dubose, the prejudice
toward the African American society, merely based on an uneducated, common belief, is denounced as
Lee introduces her society to a women who defies her preconceived image through a tremendous

The Giver s Flowers For Algernon
A central theme in Flowers For Algernon is that you don t have to change who you are to fit in with
others. You can be yourself and still fit in with the crowd. In the text, Charlie wrote Maybe if I ask him
he will tell me how I can think now that Im suppose to get smart. What do smart people think about.
Fancy things I suppose. I wish I knew some fancy things alredy (Keyes 225 226). From the text, I can
infer that he wishes he was intelligent already so that he could think about fancy things, such as smart
people do. Also, in the text Charlie stated I said I asked pepul and sumbody told me where I shud go to

All you need is bravery and determination. The theme from The Giver and the the theme from Flowers
for Algernon can have an impact on anyone s life but mostly teens. For kids and teens all around the
world, fitting in is one of the hardest things to do. People think that they need to change themselves to
fit in. Girls think they need to wear makeup to look pretty. Guys think they need to be masculine.
Everyone around the world is pressured by society to be someone they re not. Lots of people say that
society has killed the teenager . To me that quote means that society gives us these certain images that
we are supposed to strive for. For example, skinny, tall, perfect teeth, no acne, etc. As teens we are at
the age of wanting to fit in and be better but society is ruining how we view ourselves and the ways
we think. Also another thing is to just be yourself. If you be yourself, the right people will come to
you. For example, let s say someone starts to wear makeup because her friends are wearing it, or
someone said that she was ugly without it. She ll start to become a person she doesn t want to be. She
ll start to become influenced by her friends and the people around her. Then she ll stop wearing it one
day and then she ll continue to stop wearing it for a while. She might get hatred, compliments on her
natural beauty, or her friends won t even care. See what she did? She stopped pretending to be a
character in a movie, and started being herself. All she needed was bravery and determination. As you
can see, the themes in Flowers For Algernon and in The Giver relate to the real life we are facing
today. If personally myself could say something to kids and teens, I would say to just be yourself and
don t change who you are. The right people will come to you if you are brave and

arrived there, I was bust and I told my self that I want to go to the space shuttle then I leave directly.
However, the s information, I notice that physics discover a big part in the life.
What is the Space Shuttle? The Space Shuttle was a somewhat reusable low Earth orbital rocket
framework worked by the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Its official
project name was Space Transportation System (STS), taken from a 1969 arrangement for an
arrangement of reusable shuttle of which it was the main thing financed for development. The first of
four orbital experimental runs happened in 1981, prompting operational flights starting in 1982. They
were utilized on a sum of 135 missions from 1981 to 2011, propelled from the Kennedy Space Center
(KSC) in Florida. Operational missions dispatched various satellites, interplanetary tests, and the
Hubble Space Telescope (HST); led science tests in circle; and partook in development and
overhauling of the International Space Station. The Shuttle armada s aggregate mission time was 1322

Understanding Child and Young Person Development
The sequence and rate of each aspect of development.
I found this topic very interesting and have enjoyed gaining a deeper understanding of how and why
children develop the way they do; also the huge influences that differing factors can have on that
development. As adults we utilise many skills in order to complete any given task, the same applies to
children and because of this overlap of skills , child development is regarded as a holistic event, where
no part of development takes place in isolation from the others.
The sequence of development is the expected order or pattern that the child s development stages will

Henry V Act 1 Scene 5 Summary
I. The play takes place in early fifteenth century England after the death of King Henry IV, when his
son, King Henry V, claimed the throne. In order to gain respect from the English people, Henry must
move on from his wild and adventurous adolescent past of befriending thieves and drunkards. He
decides to lay claim on come areas of France; however, when the young prince of France responds to
these claims in a very cruel manner, henry plots to invade France. As he gathers troops for the war,
many of his old friends decide to depart from their homes and families to join him. Before his fleet
sets sail, the King discoverers three traitors, including a former friend, conspiring to murder him. He
responds by having all three executed. Finally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several themes displayed in Henry V; however, the main one is the character of a good king.
Being a good leader, intelligent, focused, and inspiring to his men, Henry represents the ideal king.
The play also hints that the qualities that make one a good king are not necessarily the same qualities a
good person possesses. For example, before Henry invaded France, he commanded his troops to
refrain from taking things from the French churches. However, ignoring this command, Henry s
friend, Bardolph, robbed a church. Fluellen explained to Henry, [there is] one that is to be executed for
robbing a church, one Bardolph, if your majesty know the man: his face is all bubukles, and whelks,
and knobs, and flames o fire (Henry V, 3.5.1565 1659). Henry said to him in response, We would have
all such offenders so cut off: and we give express charge, that in our marches through the , there be
nothing compelled from the villages, nothing taken but paid for, none of the French upbraided or
abused in disdainful language; (3.5.572 1576). Although Burdolph is Henry s friend, Henry knows
that those who disobey the law must be punished without exception, so he allows his friend to be
hanged. This demonstrates how being ruthless is actually an important quality for kings to have. Being
strong, determined, and adhesive to the law, Henry V models the character qualities of a good

The Values Of The Indigenous Village Otavalo
The indigenous village Otavalo, located in Ecuador, is known for the beauty of its people and
surroundings. Situated in the highlands of the Andes mountains, it is surrounded by volcanoes, and
known for its famous market. A distinct difference from the United States is how people earn money.
Many people in the village make sweaters, blouses, and other traditional wear. They sell their
merchandise in the huge market and as a result, most people in the village are well off. They also have
more free time on their hands to be with family and friends unlike most of those who work in the U.S.
In this small village, everybody knows everybody. Otaveleños (indigenous group) have managed to
hold on to centuries old traditions without adopting a quick get dressed, here comes the tourists. The
Otaveleños are proud of their culture and aren t afraid to show that. Women are seen wearing
embroidered clothing, while the norm for men are typical trousers, and a t shirt. On formal occasions,
men wear all white with a sombrero. The language that Otaveleños usually use is Spanish, but the
indigenous group often uses their indigenous language Kichwa. An important value that lies within
their culture ties to their hair. In their culture, hair is sacred to them and is typically grown out and
braided. Unfortunately, social media pressures many men to cut their hair to fit in, so when their hair
grows to about twelve or thirteen inches they cut their hair off and repeat.

Natural Resource Wealth In The United States
Various quantitative studies have drawn a statistical link between the level of natural resource wealth
and political regime type (Michael Ross, 2001, Paul Stevens, 2007). Looking at the bigger picture, the
Middle East region has defied two global patterns: it has become wealthier without becoming
democratic; and it has become wealthier without making much progress toward gender equality
(Michael Ross, 2012). The Middle East is characterized by having less democracy and more oil for

Why I Support For The Secdef
The unwritten rule when partaking in discussions professionally is to avoid matters that cover religion
and politics. Many people care very deeply about religion and/or politics, and many factors have
contributed to these passionate opinions. The bottom line is when talking about these topics, focus and
effort are diverted from what is most important in a professional environment. In the military, the
same dynamic can and has been observed in units across the country. The military is a melting pot of
culture, religion, and political opinions with individuals who care deeply about them. Presidential
campaigns summate most of these topics in one discussion. Most conversations start with, Who do
you support and why? . The why, is where most heated debates begin. Today, more pressure than ever
has been placed on service members to comment on presidential campaigns. In addition, more
avenues to comment are now available. In my paper, I will explain why support for the SECDEF is
crucial to help service members remain focused and the united states military to function more
effectively without political influence. Social media is something almost every American citizen
participates in, in today s society. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, LinkedIn,

shooting, legally by lying on the background check paperwork indicating he had no criminal history.
This was months after the Las Vegas shooting that had taken place on October 4, 2017 causing more
than 50 fatalities. These shootings were committed by convicted felons and/or mentally ill individuals
who have made it clear that the purchase of guns are easy and simple. These individuals had access to
firearms because they had either gained authorization by the government or purchased it illegally by
giving false information on paperwork. This has become a threat to many US citizens, for some do not
feel safe because nowadays anyone can easily purchase a gun. Most people would agree that more gun
control laws would not make much of a difference in the purchase of guns, however more gun control
laws should be enacted because it can decrease the amount of criminals that own a gun, it can decrease
the amount of homicides and suicide deaths, and it can prevent dangerous situations such as public
shootings.
Guns have been a big problem in society today, and those that stand behind the guns have taken the
lives of innocent people. This leads to why more gun control laws should be enacted because it can
decrease the amount of criminals that own unregistered guns. Convicted felons have purchased guns
through gun shows or through personal connections based on the evidence provided by Amy Sherman.

The Fifth Discipline by Peter Senge Essay
Indeed, not all external knowledge may be easily used and transformed into new artefacts. If external
knowledge is easily accessible, transformable into new artefacts and exposed to many actors (such as
customers and suppliers), then innovative entry may take place (Winter, 1984). On the contrary, if
advanced integration capabilities are necessary (Cohen and Levinthal, 1989), the industry may be
concentrated and formed of large established firms. Third, the domain relates to the degree of
accessibility of knowledge (Malerba and Orsenigo,
2000), i.e. opportunities of gaining knowledge that are external to firms. Knowledge that is accessible
may be internal or external to the sector. In both cases, greater accessibility of knowledge ... Show

Bason stresses that when it comes to their development efforts, public sector organisation seem to
spend 80 per cent of their energies on understanding the past and (at best) managing the present, and
perhaps only 20 per cent of their efforts on systematically exploring future directions for better
policies and services (p. 19).
Therefore, the best way for somebody s development is adequate, timely and inspiring feedback.
Alternatively, an important influence is to give somebody also a new and more ambitious task, which
requires more effort and external knowledge accruing. And finally, a classical and formal schooling,
carefully planned and executed, is also important.
As seen, the key component of a high performance organisation is a dynamic learning mode. A
learning organisation places a premium on innovation, risk taking, training, the right tools,
communication, and measurement (Hale, 1996). Senge (1990b: 7) quoted W. Edwards Deming s belief
that we have been systematically destroying the very attributes needed by a high performance
organisation: People are born with intrinsic motivation, self esteem, dignity, curiosity to learn, joy in
learning. The forces of destruction begin with toddlers a price for the best Halloween costume, grades
in school, gold stars, and on up through the university.
On the job, people, teams, divisions are ranked reward for one at the top, punishing at the bottom.

Importance Of The Declaration Of Rights Of Man
The Declaration of Rights of Man, written on August 26th, 1789, granted French citizens fundamental
rights for the first time in France s history. This revolutionary document articulated the goals and
standards the French people sought for their new society, post revolution. The Declaration articulated
the ideas of the Enlightenment and offered fundamental protections for the common man. The
Declaration of Rights of Man was important to the French Revolution because it created citizens and
their rights, thereby ending absolute monarchy.
Before the Revolution, France s government, entitled the Ancien Régime, consisted of an absolute
monarchy. Under this system, no person had any rights. The people of France were not citizens, but
rather subjects of the King, at the mercy of his will. The King held all of the power with no legal
protections in place for the French people. For example, the First Estate, consisting of the clergy, and
the Second Estate, consisting of the nobility, paid no direct taxes. This provision existed because Louis
XIV had implemented a tax system that exempted these two estates. Therefore, the entire tax burden
of the country fell on the Third Estate, the common people. This unjust and disproportionate system
existed because the King s word was the law, with no legal means to appeal his decisions.
A major cause of the Revolution was the Third Estate s contempt with this unfair political system and
lack of legal means to change it. This contempt, in part,

The Relationship Between Alvy And Annie In The 70 s
In the 1977 film, Annie Hall directed by Woody Allen, Alvy Singer played by Allen is followed
through his relationship with Annie Hall, played by Diane Keaton. The thematic elements of the
relationship between Alvy and Annie is an example of the 1960 s and 1970 s film era. The relationship
demonstrates the new youth directed aspects, the explicitly of drugs and sexuality and the offbeat new
values and point of view of youth. The relationship between Alvy and Annie is complex and modern.
The young couple goes through ups and down throughout their relationship showing the real side to
relationships. Avly is a middle aged man who has already been through two marriages before he meets
Annie. Although they are older, their relationship models that of youth in the 70 s. They are young
adventurous and spontaneous. Their conversations flow and it is awkward and uncomfortable at times
like what the beginning of a new relationship is really like. This relationship is targeted toward youth
in the 60 s and 70 s as it is a look into the real relationships and conversations that ... Show more

Throughout the film, the discussion and representation of sexual relations plays a large role in the
film. As a young couple, these sexual relations are important in developing their relationship with one
another, this is common among many youths during this time. The representation of this shows the
films ability to relate to the young adults in this era. The blatant use of drugs and alcohol in this film
shows the films ability to test the cinematic limits. Drugs and alcohol were not shown in many films
up until the 60 s when film makers started to test the boundaries. In this film, cocaine is shown and is
used to show the youth culture of drug use. The use of sex, drugs and alcohol in this film test the
limits to what film has previously done and shows the new modern youth era of film

  • 2. Similarities Between Neo-Capitalism And Neo-Liberalism Despite the fact that there are some similarities between neo realism and neo liberalism, it shall be the differences between these theories that will be the focus of my attention, as it will help me to determine more rigorously which of the arguments is the more convincing. The points of comparison shall be the effects of the anarchical international system, and thus, the extent to which cooperation can be achieved, the importance of relative and absolute gains, the conflict between state capabilities and interests, and finally the importance of institutions and regimes. It is important to note that neo realism is often also called structural realism, and neo liberalism neo liberal institutionalism. As the question prefers to call the theories neo realism and neo liberalism, this is what I shall do throughout. The first thing to consider is the effects of the international system, and what this means for the prospects of cooperation. Lamy asserts that both [neo realism and neo liberalism] agree that the international system is anarchic . I question that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I feel they are right to assert that cooperation will only occur if sates want it to, and do not agree that it is always within state interest to cooperate. I am certain that relative gains are an important consideration for certain states and cannot be ignored. It appears that states focus on the capabilities of other states because these are easier to measure than intentions. Nor am I convinced that institutions will continue to play a vital role in checking the actions of states. To put it another way, maybe, as all liberalisms are prone to do, the problem with neo liberalism is that it focuses on how the world ought to be, rather than how it is. I happen to believe that neo realist focus on anarchy as the dominating force in the international system is a more accurate reflection of the world we live ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Urinary System Lab Report The urinary system s primary function is to filter the blood and remove the body s excess ions as well as waste, all whilst preserving water and other substances the body requires. The major components of this system are the kidneys, ureters and the urethra [1]. The nervous system receives its continuous supply of nutrients from the blood any disruption to this flow, and brain damage or death could result. The stability of the internal environment is known as homeostasis. Under normal circumstances, water consumption and loss vary significantly. The Environmental Effects Of Plastics Plastic bags have been a popular commodity since the 1970 s due to their convenience and sturdiness; however, plastic bags are a victim of their own success. These flyaway bags have detrimental effects on the environment; they fill the trees and clog the storm drains. In response, many states in the U.S. have imposed bag taxes in an effort to reduce their use. These taxes have reduced the frivolous use of plastic bags and have heightened our awareness of their detrimental effects, but concerns arise over the negative effects of the taxes on the economy and, surprisingly, the environment as well. This poses an economic threat for retailers. The economic advantage of plastic bags are too significant for retailers to ignore. While advocates of these taxes argue that it will reduce the use of plastic bags, many argue that these taxes fail to protect the environment and economy of the U.S. Over a 100 cities across the U.S. have imposed taxes on plastic bags after watching countries in Europe have favorable results. Tony Lowes, director of the Friends of the Irish Environment, claims that Ireland s 15 cent tax on plastic bags has resulted in a 95 percent reduction in their use (qtd. in Roach 3). Similarly, cities in the U.S. imposed taxes in an effort to achieve effective results. A bag tax in Washington D.C. has resulted in a 50 percent decrease in single bag usage (Bayly 3). On the other side of the country, Los Angeles went from using 2.2 million bags a year to using 125,000 a year after the tax on bags went into effect (Bayly 3); nonetheless, advocates of plastic bags have brought to light the harsh reality of taxes. Bag taxes pose an economic threat for both retailers and consumers. Areas that have imposed taxes experienced a decrease in sales while areas not subject to taxes experienced an increase in sales. I have been a PlayStation consumer since 1994 when the first PlayStation was established. Therefore, since I am a frequent consumer of this product, I have gained some knowledge of this product over time. When an individual is a frequent consumer of a certain product, the consumer will eventually become aware or at least have some knowledge of the marketing mix of that product. However, besides from being a dedicated consumer, I was also involved in selling this product as a sales associate and this gave me some insight on the marketing mix of this product. As a sales associate, I also received some training from marketers from the Sony Corporation on how to position the PlayStation 3 in an electronics store. Wilner County Courts Building 401 Bosley Avenue, Room 13 M Towson, Maryland 21204 Re: Propensity Evidence in Sexual Assault/Child Molestation Cases Dear Judge Wilner: As Vice Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, I am writing to request that the Rules Committee establish a rule to allow for the admissibility of certain evidence of similar behavior by the defendant in sexual assault and child molestation cases. The adoption of such a rule will effectively end the current disunion between the Federal Rules of Evidence and the Maryland Rules of Evidence. As you know, under Maryland Rule 5 404(b), evidence of prior crimes may be admitted to show some special relevance to the issues in the present case in very limited factual scenarios. The evidence may not be used to show that the accused is a bad person but it should be permitted to illustrate (1) the defendant s motive to commit the crime, (2) the defendant s intent to commit the crime, (3) that the defendant engaged in a common scheme or plan to achieve an overarching criminal enterprise, (4) that the defendant was, in fact, the person who committed the crime, (5) and that there was a lack of mistake or accident on the part of the defendant when the crime was committed. With the adoption of Rule 5 404(b), came the growing list of exceptions. The exceptions specifically listed in the rule are not a laundry list of exceptions; they are a representative list of ... When heroin was first discovered it was thought to be a wonder drug because of the euphoric feeling a person is said to feel after using it. However, once the debilitating effects of this highly addictive drug was realized the anti drug law, the Harrison Narcotics Act, was enacted that restricted its use to medicinal purposes only. Essay On Cruise Ship CRUISE SHIP A cruise ship or cruise liner is a (usually very large) passenger ship used for pleasure voyages, where the voyage itself and the ship s amenities are part of the experience, as well as the different destinations along the way. Transportation is not the prime purpose, as cruise ships operate mostly on routes that return passengers to their originating port, so the ports of call are usually in a specified region of a continent. In contrast, dedicated transport oriented ocean liners do line voyages and typically transport passengers from one point to another, rather than on round trips. Ocean liner services aimed at passengers ceased in 1986, with the notable exception of transatlantic crossings operated by the Cunard Line, catering to the niche market who appreciated the several days at sea away from civilization. In comparison to liner crossings, cruising voyages gained popularity; slowly at first but at an increased rate from the 1980s onwards. Initially the fledgling industry was serviced primarily by small redundant liners, and even the first purpose built cruise ships were small. This changed after the success of the SS Norway (originally the ocean liner SS France, which was converted to cruising duties) as the Caribbean s first super ship . Contemporary cruise ships built in the late 1980s and beyond, such as Sovereign class which broke the size record held for decades by Norway, show characteristics of size and strength once reserved for ocean liners some have undertaken regular scheduled transatlantic crossings. • 14. Allegory Of The Republic By Plato s The Republic Allegory of the Cave is a dialog between Socrates and Gloucon in The Republic written by Plato. The image of the cave is a universal picture of the human conditions and a complex metaphor that applies to everyone in society. It questions the mentality and the biased point of view created by the society and human nature (which relates to stereotyping, something I will explain further into the essay). The idea delivered through the dialogue thousands of years ago is so general that examples could still be found in today s society. He is then left pondering about what is an actual truth and what is not, and this is terribly mind blowing. This is why I think the phrase ignorance is bliss, explains the allegory. Because at the end of the day, the prisoners who never left do not have to deal with the troubles of wondering about things beyond their created world, while the prisoner that left and came back must consider both truths brought upon him and make a decision of what to believe and have the responsibility of creating his own opinion. This responsibility cannot be taken lightly and can be troubling, while the prisoners who never left do not have this weight on their shoulders. This is how being ignorant may just be an easier way out then gaining knowledge beyond comprehensibility. Because overall, it s less to think about; and overthinking is tiring to the ... In 2014, an increase of interest of North Korea concentration camps trended all over social media. Citizens worldwide noticed North Korea is the only country you can t see street views on google earth. This just makes the argument bigger about North Korea denying that these labor camps exist. After all the evidence and memoirs of North Koreans that have escaped from these labor camps, the real question is should the United States intervene? One of the top solutions is for the United States to intervene and liberate all the North Korean prisoners ( How Did We Get Here? A Timeline of the North Korean Nuclear Threat ). For example, Kim IL Sung laid down the law in 1972, Enemies of class, whoever they are, their seed must be eliminated through three generations. This is why the United States needs to intervene and go to war with North Korea. We can t let hundreds and thousands of people be killed, starved, or tortured; it goes against all human rights. The benefits of going to war would be liberating hundreds and thousands of North Korean prisoners, we would have control of North and South Korea if the U.S. won and we would be eliminating a dictator who is a major threat as of 2013 ( How potent are North Korea s threats? ). Once all of these stages fall into place within the brain, the phenomenon known as love occurs, according to Helen Fischer. Two different conditions were tested in order to find the suitable combination to yield the largest tetragonal lysozyme crystals that could be utilized in protein structure identification. The concentration of sodium chloride and the pH levels were subjectively increased across twelve separate reservoir solutions. Utilizing the hanging drop method, the solutions were left to crystallize over the span of two weeks. Following the time span, it was found that as the sodium chloride concentrations increased, production of protein crystals increased. In addition, it was also found that with an increased pH level in the wells the crystals produced were more defined, larger and feasible for the tetragonal shape characteristic of lysozyme crystals. Introduction Over the past few decades, the scientific community s knowledge of protein structure has increased exponentially. Through the use of NMR and, primarily, X ray crystallography, valuable information pertaining to the three dimensional structure of proteins and enzymes alike have been found and recorded. • 29. Henry V Act 1 Scene 5 Summary I. The play takes place in early fifteenth century England after the death of King Henry IV, when his son, King Henry V, claimed the throne. In order to gain respect from the English people, Henry must move on from his wild and adventurous adolescent past of befriending thieves and drunkards. He decides to lay claim on come areas of France; however, when the young prince of France responds to these claims in a very cruel manner, henry plots to invade France. As he gathers troops for the war, many of his old friends decide to depart from their homes and families to join him. Before his fleet sets sail, the King discoverers three traitors, including a former friend, conspiring to murder him. He responds by having all three executed. Finally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several themes displayed in Henry V; however, the main one is the character of a good king. Being a good leader, intelligent, focused, and inspiring to his men, Henry represents the ideal king. The play also hints that the qualities that make one a good king are not necessarily the same qualities a good person possesses. For example, before Henry invaded France, he commanded his troops to refrain from taking things from the French churches. However, ignoring this command, Henry s friend, Bardolph, robbed a church. Fluellen explained to Henry, [there is] one that is to be executed for robbing a church, one Bardolph, if your majesty know the man: his face is all bubukles, and whelks, and knobs, and flames o fire (Henry V, 3.5.1565 1659). Henry said to him in response, We would have all such offenders so cut off: and we give express charge, that in our marches through the , there be nothing compelled from the villages, nothing taken but paid for, none of the French upbraided or abused in disdainful language; (3.5.572 1576). Although Burdolph is Henry s friend, Henry knows that those who disobey the law must be punished without exception, so he allows his friend to be hanged. This demonstrates how being ruthless is actually an important quality for kings to have. Being strong, determined, and adhesive to the law, Henry V models the character qualities of a good ... • 30. The Values Of The Indigenous Village Otavalo The indigenous village Otavalo, located in Ecuador, is known for the beauty of its people and surroundings. Situated in the highlands of the Andes mountains, it is surrounded by volcanoes, and known for its famous market. A distinct difference from the United States is how people earn money. Many people in the village make sweaters, blouses, and other traditional wear. They sell their merchandise in the huge market and as a result, most people in the village are well off. They also have more free time on their hands to be with family and friends unlike most of those who work in the U.S. In this small village, everybody knows everybody. Otaveleños (indigenous group) have managed to hold on to centuries old traditions without adopting a quick get dressed, here comes the tourists. The Otaveleños are proud of their culture and aren t afraid to show that. Women are seen wearing embroidered clothing, while the norm for men are typical trousers, and a t shirt. On formal occasions, men wear all white with a sombrero. The language that Otaveleños usually use is Spanish, but the indigenous group often uses their indigenous language Kichwa. An important value that lies within their culture ties to their hair. In their culture, hair is sacred to them and is typically grown out and braided. Unfortunately, social media pressures many men to cut their hair to fit in, so when their hair grows to about twelve or thirteen inches they cut their hair off and repeat. Most people in the ... The Middle East is characterized by having less democracy and more oil for decades, than any otherworld region (Michael Ross, 2012). • 37. Why I Support For The Secdef The unwritten rule when partaking in discussions professionally is to avoid matters that cover religion and politics. Many people care very deeply about religion and/or politics, and many factors have contributed to these passionate opinions. The bottom line is when talking about these topics, focus and effort are diverted from what is most important in a professional environment. In the military, the same dynamic can and has been observed in units across the country. The military is a melting pot of culture, religion, and political opinions with individuals who care deeply about them. Presidential campaigns summate most of these topics in one discussion. Most conversations start with, Who do you support and why? . The why, is where most heated debates begin. Today, more pressure than ever has been placed on service members to comment on presidential campaigns. In addition, more avenues to comment are now available. In my paper, I will explain why support for the SECDEF is crucial to help service members remain focused and the united states military to function more effectively without political influence. • 38. Persuasive Essay On Gun Control One man with a gun can control 100 without one. Vladimir Lenin. This quote describes how one person with a gun has so much control over many others that don t. It is a good example of what is going on in society today because of all the shootings that have taken place in public, churches, and schools. These mass shootings have created such controversy as to whether or not there should be more gun control laws. On November 5, 2017, Devin Patrick Kelley began shooting inside of the Sutherlands Springs Church killing more than 20 people including children. Before this tragic incident, he had a history of domestic violence towards his ex wife and child which he was charged with disorderly conduct . Due to his criminal history, he managed to buy a rifle, that was used in the shooting, legally by lying on the background check paperwork indicating he had no criminal history. This was months after the Las Vegas shooting that had taken place on October 4, 2017 causing more than 50 fatalities. These shootings were committed by convicted felons and/or mentally ill individuals who have made it clear that the purchase of guns are easy and simple. These individuals had access to firearms because they had either gained authorization by the government or purchased it illegally by giving false information on paperwork. This has become a threat to many US citizens, for some do not feel safe because nowadays anyone can easily purchase a gun. Most people would agree that more gun control laws would not make much of a difference in the purchase of guns, however more gun control laws should be enacted because it can decrease the amount of criminals that own a gun, it can decrease the amount of homicides and suicide deaths, and it can prevent dangerous situations such as public shootings. Guns have been a big problem in society today, and those that stand behind the guns have taken the lives of innocent people. This leads to why more gun control laws should be enacted because it can decrease the amount of criminals that own unregistered guns. Convicted felons have purchased guns through gun shows or through personal connections based on the evidence provided by Amy Sherman. Sherman states, private sellers without a federal ... If external knowledge is easily accessible, transformable into new artefacts and exposed to many actors (such as customers and suppliers), then innovative entry may take place (Winter, 1984). On the contrary, if advanced integration capabilities are necessary (Cohen and Levinthal, 1989), the industry may be concentrated and formed of large established firms. Third, the domain relates to the degree of accessibility of knowledge (Malerba and Orsenigo, 2000), i.e. opportunities of gaining knowledge that are external to firms. Knowledge that is accessible may be internal or external to the sector. In both cases, greater accessibility of knowledge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, the best way for somebody s development is adequate, timely and inspiring feedback. Alternatively, an important influence is to give somebody also a new and more ambitious task, which requires more effort and external knowledge accruing. And finally, a classical and formal schooling, carefully planned and executed, is also important. As seen, the key component of a high performance organisation is a dynamic learning mode. • 42. Importance Of The Declaration Of Rights Of Man The Declaration of Rights of Man, written on August 26th, 1789, granted French citizens fundamental rights for the first time in France s history. This revolutionary document articulated the goals and standards the French people sought for their new society, post revolution. The Declaration articulated the ideas of the Enlightenment and offered fundamental protections for the common man. The Declaration of Rights of Man was important to the French Revolution because it created citizens and their rights, thereby ending absolute monarchy. Before the Revolution, France s government, entitled the Ancien Régime, consisted of an absolute monarchy. Under this system, no person had any rights. The people of France were not citizens, but rather subjects of the King, at the mercy of his will. The King held all of the power with no legal protections in place for the French people. For example, the First Estate, consisting of the clergy, and the Second Estate, consisting of the nobility, paid no direct taxes. This provision existed because Louis XIV had implemented a tax system that exempted these two estates. Therefore, the entire tax burden of the country fell on the Third Estate, the common people. This unjust and disproportionate system existed because the King s word was the law, with no legal means to appeal his decisions. A major cause of the Revolution was the Third Estate s contempt with this unfair political system and lack of legal means to change it. This contempt, in part, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
