In the space of 5 years, the library presence in both Maynooth University (formerly NUI Maynooth) and the University of Limerick have been transformed beyond recognition. Many of the most dramatic and successful transformations have been enabled by technology. These changes have varied from the dramatic revolution of the library place harnessing cutting edge audio visual technology, through the transformation of services, via the adoption of targeted technologies. As two relatively small universities in the middle of a national recession, the sustainability of these technologies and their ability to demonstrably enhance our services has been critical. Coupled with this has been the need to consider and avoid the dangers of ‘soft’ techno determinism - where we become seduced by the potential in these technologies and the development of our services becomes influenced by the technology available to us, as opposed to us adopting technology to help us do our job better.
By examining the transformation of the Maynooth and Limerick Library services via the adoption of 4 technologies we will endeavour to show that harnessing these technologies in a considered, strategic manner is not only necessary, but has a positive impact across the service as a whole, including in several unexpected ways.

Evaluation of seed storage proteins in common bean by some biplot analysis
In order to study of seed storage proteins, proteins samples of common bean genotypes were prepared by 0.2 M
NaCl of extracting soluble. Genotypes were located in two groups by cluster analysis using Wilks’ lambda
statistic. Two groups were different for yield components (number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant
and seed weight). Factor analysis showed that two factors described 61% of total proteins variation. Correlated
bands with yield components characters had the highest coefficients for the first factor. This factor was named
“yield components proteins”. Protein bands via RM 58 and 64 had relationship with days to flowering.
Therefore, the second factor was named “phenologic proteins”. Genotypes were located in four groups by these
factors. Length, angle and presence of protein bands were important characteristics to explain graphical

Bauer Media understands this audience well through Kerrang! magazine and radio stations. Distributing with Bauer Media would allow my magazine to reach a wide audience through their existing marketing channels and audience insights.

IPC Media and Bauer Media are potential media institutions that could distribute the magazine. IPC Media distributes NME, a popular magazine among the target audience. As a large UK media company, IPC Media also provides more advertising options. - 1. Evaluation 3 How would your magazine be advertised? How are similar magazines advertised and where are they sold? Anya Wagstaff
- 2. Advertising For the advertising of my product I don't think television would be appropriate because usual magazines advertised in this way are for weekly/monthly collectors magazines. My music magazine may be more appropriately advertised on perhaps a billboard or poster.
- 3. Social Networking I would also create a Facebook page and a website so people can follow, support and advertise the product by sharing stories, images and links with friends the spread the product. Social networking is also a good method of advertising because some of the younger members of my audience typically spend a lot of time on the facebook, twitter and tumblr. This is why I have put on a bottom band on my cover a link to the facebook page.
- 4. Not only would my product be available in shops and newsagents, it would possible for them to subscribe and get a monthly/weekly order sent to their house and to encourage this there would be special offers available, leaflets inside, and small free things with it. Along with the subscription they could receive emails of offers and exclusive access to stories...
