Estuaries are coastal bodies of water where fresh river water and salty ocean water mix, creating a unique environment. They are highly productive ecosystems that provide important habitat for many species and offer economic benefits to humans through activities like tourism, fishing, and shipping. Barrier islands help protect estuaries by forming a barrier against ocean waves and tides. Both estuaries and barrier islands are delicate systems vulnerable to threats from rising sea levels, erosion, and storms.
A presentation for Marine Biology about Estuaries which includes its origin, classifications, types, physical characteristics, ecosystems, and human impact. Examples of estuaries are also included in this presentation.
The Estuarine System consists of deepwater tidal habitats and adjacent tidal wetlands that are usually semienclosed by land but have open, partly obstructed, or sporadic access to the open ocean, and in which ocean water is at least occasionally diluted by freshwater runoff from the land. The salinity may be periodically increased above that of the open ocean by evaporation. Along some low-energy coastlines there is appreciable dilution of sea water. Offshore areas with typical estuarine plants and animals, such as red mangroves (Rhizophora mangle) and eastern oysters (Crassostrea virginica), are also included in the Estuarine System.

Introduction, Models, Types of estuaries on the basis of origin; Salinity condition or freshwater discharge; Circulation; Estuaries in India; Estuaries as ecosystem; Why are estuaries important; Threats ;How can we help to protect them; Conclusion.
An estuary is a semi-enclosed coastal body of water which has a free connection with the open sea and within which sea water mixes with fresh water. This module highlights the details of estuaries as one of the productive coastal ecosystems.
North Carolina's Outer Banks is home to many beautiful estuaries. Estuaries are coastal areas with shallow waters that are mixed with sea water and freshwater flowing from watersheds. These areas are known as nurseries for thousands of species of sea creatures. Sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs and when those hatch, the baby turtles scramble back toward the ocean where they will live out their lives. Fish, manatee, sharks, starfish, and many other species are at home in the Croatan Sound Estuary.
Lakes are helpful in controlling weather and local climate. Lakes are helpful for creating irrigation facilities and recreation. In some places, lakes are good sources for water supply for drinking. Every lake, is unique in terms of its size, morphometry, water availability, water chemistry, physics, hydrology and biology. There are several type, kinds and categories of lakes in the world.

Koppen classification and land area characteristics [autosaved]Kella Randolph
What is the difference between weather and climate? Koppen Classification is a tool that helps us recognize the many different climates in biomes worldwide.
The earth is getting warmer due to the global warming. There are many climates all over the planet. Some areas of Earth have snow every day, and some are so dry they almost never have rain or snow

Natural gas is poisonous and is colorless, odorless and tasteless. We must add a bad smell to it in order to prevent being killed by a gas leak
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
2. What is an estuary?
An estuary is where fresh river water and salt ocean water
mix.

makes them a great place for
humans and animals. Humans
benefit from the beauty of
estuaries and the food and
resources they provide. Estuaries

harbors and ports. (EPA).
4. Estuaries have a unique environment .
• The mix of fresh and saltwater makes a great feeding ground and
habitat for many types of wildlife (EPA).
• This water mixture also results in a mixture of types of sediment.
Though estuaries have sediment from both upstream rivers and
from the ocean, most of the sediment is relatively fine grained
(McNally, pg. 3). The type of sediment, and the abundance of it,
affects human and animal involvement with estuaries. Too much
sediment makes it hard for plants to photosynthesis and limits
human use of the estuary since sediment can be deposited,
making the estuary unsuitable for ship traffic. If there is too little
sediment in the estuary then the land bordering it may be eroded
away and increase predation rates in some species (McNally, pg.
2)
5. Estuaries are among the most productive ecosystems in the world. Many
animals rely on estuaries for food, places to breed, and migration stopovers.
• Estuaries are delicate
ecosystems. Congress created
the National Estuarine Research
Reserve System to protect more
than one million acres of
estuarine land and water. These
estuarine reserves provide
essential habitat for wildlife, offer
educational opportunities for
students, and serve as living
laboratories for scientists.

6. Estuaries are coastal bodies of
water that have mixed fresh
and salty water. The water in
estuaries is mixed because
they are fed by rivers but also
have a connection with
oceans. Estuaries have a
barrier to the sea, similar to
lagoons, that protects them
from ocean energy, but, unlike
lagoons, estuaries still connect
with the sea. Because of this
connection with the sea,
estuaries are strongly
influenced by tides (NOAA).
