Questions and Answers on the Carrier Industry Essay
1. What are the various factors used in classifying commodities for tariff purposes? The National
Motor Freight Classification (NMFC), as determined by the Surface Transportation Board (STB), is
the tariff system that has classification and description of commodities based on four main
characteristics. These are density of the commodity, liability, handling and storability of the
commodity. Carrier companies negotiate the rate and terms of transporting the commodities on the
basis of these four characteristics. It is important to mention that product density is the dominant
factor that determines use of carrier s vehicle and cost per hundredweight. Higher product density
results in lower cost per hundredweight but higher capability of... Show more content on

During 1980, the TL motor carriers fared quite well. These companies include J.B. Hunt, MS
Carriers and Werner. There was 30% to 40% annual increment in their revenues during 1980s.
For instance, J.B Hunt s revenues at the start of 1980 was around $25 million but increased to
$732 million starting 1991. MS Carriers increased from $35 million in 1980 to $152 million in
1991. During 1980s, TL segment of the motor carrier industry rapidly outgrew other segments
such as LTL, rail boxcars, and long haul private fleets. 3. Railroads have abandoned a significant
number of miles of track (over 260,000 miles) since 1916. Why has this trend developed? Will it
continue into the future? Why or why not? The major reason of railroads abandoning significant
number of miles of track (over 260,000) has been the rapid inter model transportation competition.
Since the gradual deregulation of railroad industry, the two major industry segments in motor
carrier transportation have been truck load (TL) and less than truck load (LTL) industries. TL and
LTL industry segments have rapidly developed after the US government reregulated the
transportation industry. There has been an increasing competition of rail boxcars with trucking
industry. The improvement of water ways carried out by the engineering corps of the U.S army has
also led to increased competition between inter modal transportation carriers. The trend is

Ancient Greek Influence On Ancient Rome
There are many Greek myths that were altered or redirected to serve the state of Rome. For
instance, Roman culture borrowed elements of government, religion, and lifestyle. Etruscans were
also an important conduit of Greek influence on Early Rome. In addition, Roman myth is heavily
patriarchal, befitting a society where the male head of the household had the power of life and
death over everyone. The Romans also, culturally inferior to the Greeksadopted Greek literature and
mythology by just changing names and adapting the concepts to fit their ideas and values. In
addition, many gods are believed to have taken part in the founding of Rome. All of the gods were
consulted and honored to make sure that the actions of the state met with divine

Slavery done so we do not need to remember it! Respond to this statement drawing specific
reference to the nature of slave society and how the enslaved fought against their enslavement.
Every society, in the Caribbean or anywhere else, is a product of the particular historical forces that
shaped it and gave it form. For the Caribbean the most impactful historical force was the
introduction of slavery and slave societies to the Caribbean and the period thereafter, up until its
abolition. Although slavery is done, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually, the slaves in the lowest rung of this social ladder were the ones who rebelled and often
domestic slaves were the ones who betrayed them by reporting the plots to their master.
(www.guyana.org). As a result of the enslaved Africans in the Caribbean, wherever there was
slavery, there was resistance . (V. shepherd).
Until recently the role of the African people who resisted enslavement and fought to end slavery
in various ways during the Transatlantic Slave Trade had been ignored. It is important to
remember that resistance to slavery had a long history. It began in Africa itself when the
Africans fought against enslavement and continued on board the ships, during the middle
passage and also on the plantations. (N.p, 2009) There were different forms of resistances used
by the enslaved Africans in the Caribbean cam be broken down into two main categories; violent
and non violent resistances or more formerly active and passive resistance. There was also
marronage which can fall into the category of non violent resistance whether it was grand, petit
or maritime marronage. According to Hilary Beckles the many slave revolts and plots between
1638 and 1838 could be conceived as the 200 years war . (Beckles 1991). This was the period
where the resistances and revolts used by enslaved Africans was at its peak, enslaved blacks used
the various forms of resistances in order to show their dissatisfaction and to

Examples Of Anger In Seneca
ANGER/SENECA
Anger is a strong emotion that everyone has inside them. It s also a vice because it s one of our bad
sides. Anger mostly makes people lose control of themselves and drives them to act violently. As
Seneca agrees and mentions, we can consider anger as a short madness because even if it s for one
second of rage we feel, we go mad. We can t think properly and due to that we can t act properly.
Seneca says Anger is the desire of revenge, not the power and faculty of it. and Those who think
of injuring us are already considered as they injured us because they did it in conceit. I disagree
with this idea because I believe actions are more important than intentions. For example, someone
who thinks of killing people is innocent

The Role Of The Supernatural In Richard III
The supernatural is a prevalent force throughout all of Shakespeare s plays, from his comedies
to his tragedies. What often varies, however, is the reason behind the supernatural. Is it a
figment of the imagination or is it real? Is it caused by psychological guilt or are the dead out for
revenge? More often than not, the supernatural are used as propaganda to affirm a monarch s
position on the throne. Particularly, I argue that Shakespeare uses ghosts in Richard III to
rewrite history for the current reigning monarch, a motif which he then repeats in Macbeth.
Richard III s ghosts are not nearly as present as the ghosts in Macbeth. They only show up once
in a dream sequence, cementing them firmly as figments of Richard s mind. It is telling then
that the only time when ghosts do show up, they condone Richard III and hope for Richmond s
success. Specifically, even Richard s closest allies have turned on him: O in the battle think on
Buckingham/And die in terror of thy guiltiness (Shakespeare, Richard III 5.5.123 4). In other
words, Buckingham the man who was by Richard s side up until the fourth act, where he suddenly
gained a conscience thinks Richard deserves to die for his tyrannical rule. What does it say when
even your confidantes have turned on you? It certainly cements the idea that Richard s rule was
horrible and destructive, which really was not all that true. In fact, Richard supposedly had solid
administrative skills but he was often portrayed as the

Social Construction, Organic Solidarity And Culture
In my eighteen years of living, I ve been conforming to the societal norms set for me. Ranging
from the career path I m taking to simple everyday activities, society has impacted all aspects of
my life. Sometimes we fear going against what is normal for us to do because of the
consequences that might happen. Ironically, most people do not fully understand that these
norms have been pushed on them, but they continuously follow them day to day. The majority
of what affects our daily lives is socialization, with the addition of social construction, organic
solidarity and culture (Giddens, A., Duneier, M., Appelbaum, R., Carr, D., 2014). In every
attempt to break free from the chain put upon us by these societal norms, we only dig ourselves
deeper into what society wants from us. Recently I ve attempted to dig deeper into how the high
demands of society has affected me personally and I ve realized that it started from the time that I
was born. Ideally, one needs to understand the cultural turn in their lives to understand how
everything surrounding them in their daily lives (Giddens, 2014, p. 60). Starting at a very young
age, I ve been labeled by society. When I was born, no one focused on the idea of what I would
turn out to be. Instead, they focused on putting me in fluffy, pink outfits and imprinting me with
femininity. They focused on showing me Disney movies with female leads that depended on men
to save them and whisk them away to a life of luxury. There was a strong

Tragic Hero In Arthur Miller s Death Of A Salesman
Title Goes Here
The play named, Death of a Salesman, written by Arthur Miller, still remains an classic . There is
much conversation about this play being defined as a tragedy . According to Aristotle s definition,
A tragedy is the imitation of an action that is serious and also, as having magnitude, complete in
itself; in appropriate and pleasurable language;... in a dramatic rather than narrative form; with
incidents arousing pity and fear, wherewith to accomplish a catharsis of these emotions. This play
can be defined as a tragedy because of two reasons. The first reason being that the downfall of a
person who believes that doing something wrong is the right choice. Doesn t bother to think how it
will affect him or her and others around them. Another reason of the play Death of a Salesmanis of
lack of the sense ,comprehension, of achieving the classical American dream. Defining the play as
a tragedy, does it makes Willy Loman a tragic hero? Aristotle once stated, A tragic hero is a literary
character who makes a judgment error that inevitably leads to his/her own destruction. Arthur
Miller believed that the common man best fits an tragic hero because they deal with everyday life,
struggling to live the American Dream. Never does Arthur states Willie Loman name, he is just a
primary example. Insistence upon the rank of the tragic hero, or so called nobility of his character,
is really but a clinging to the

A Brief Article On Being An Atheist
Response Paper on H.J. McCloskey article On being an atheist
Name
Course
Date
During the year 1968, an atheist philosopher H.J. McCloskey came up with a powerful argument
about how being an atheist was greater than the theistic way of life. Through this article,
McCloskey finds a way to condemn numerous arguments which theist consider as true and in most
cases seem to mock and impeach the believers of God. Some of the arguments that McCloskey tries
to diminish are the three mutual proofs that most theists depend upon for their belief in God. The
proofs include; cosmological proof, teleological proof and the argument from design. McCloskey
also talks about the complications of evil and how its presence rejects the truth about God. At the
end of the article, he maintains that atheism is heartening, meaning that it is more calming than
theism. Below are a detailed discussion and validity of the truth about the three claims that
McCloskey wants to rebate in the article and finally dispute the problem of evil to censure the
thought that atheism is cool and comforting1.
McCloskey mostly insults the theistic opinion as one of ignorance and ambiguity. Referring to the
believers of God, he say they do not think hard enough nor far enough about the difficulty of an
uncaused reason, who has to be a unavoidably existing being to prove that the argument is far less
conclusive than it appears to be at first sight. In addition, his reference of theists as being ignorant
is clearly

Causes Of The Fabian Movement
The economic climate of the latter half of the 19th century was one of upheaval. London was quite
influenced by several socialist thinkers during this time including Karl Marx. Marx passed away in
1883, leaving behind many radical socialists who influenced the burgeoning Fabian Movement.
H.M. Hyndman and Henry George were two important figures who wrote pivotal pieces of
literature. Henry George published Progress and Povertyin 1879 and greatly influenced many of the
socialists who came into the Fabian Society (Fremantle, 1961, p.20). Two years later, H.M.
Hyndman wrote England for All and later that year went on to found the Democratic Federation
(later called the Social Democratic Federation) (Fremantle, 1961, p. 22). Both George and
Hyndman were fans of Marx and believed in his violent revolutionary ideology yet, what helped
form the Fabians was their dislike of this particular tenet.
Laissez faire Liberalism and its twin Capitalism were major sources of disproval for the
individuals who would go on to create the Fabian Society in 1884. Laissez faire liberalism was
seen to be the source of much unrest and unhappiness among the impoverished in the world. They
saw the system of Capitalism to be an oppressive, tyrannical system. W.L. Phillips, the Society s
only working class member said the following, The workers must and will shake off their blind
faith in the Commercial god Competition, and realize the responsibility of their unused powers
(Pugh, 1984, p. 5).

Alcohol (beverages): beverages which contain ethanol substance, this substance cause a person

Definition of alcoholism
According to mayo clinic, alcoholism is an inability to control the desire to consume alcoholic
beverages. The desire will always lead to serious condition, because the person who drinks alcohol
does not know if he/she drinks too much. (Mayoclinic, 2012)
Additionally, Alcoholic Anonymous UK states that alcoholism is a combination of physical

Dionysus and the Unraveling of Ideologies in The Bacchae
Dionysus and the Unraveling of Ideologies in The Bacchae
Some evaluations claim that the Dionysus appearing in The Bacchae is fairly true embodiment of
the ideals of ancient Athens. He demands only worship and proper reverence for his name, two
matters of honor that pervaded both the Greek tragedies and the pious society that viewed them. In
other plays, Oedipus consultations with Apollo and the many Choral appeals to Zeus reveal the
Athenian respect for their gods, while Electra s need for revenge and Antigone s obligation to bury
Polyneices both epitomize the themes of respect and dignity. Yet although Dionysuspersonifies
these two motifs, his clashes with the rest of Athenian tradition seem to make him its true adversary.

The Chorus first alludes to the traditional place of Athenian women with the statement, driven
from shuttle and loom, / possessed by Dionysus! (118 199), and Pentheus later employs the same
motif when threatening, I shall have them sold as slaves or put to work / at my looms (513 514).
Such a deliberate analogy amidst the clash of divine and earthly power seems to highlight the
woman s domesticated place and to call attention to her role as a pawn in the struggle between the
king and the god. Though women were almost excluded from Athenian public life and women s
presence in male company [was] surrounded by many taboos in Athenian culture, the frenzied
Bacchae serve a necessary and conspicuous function in this drama.
Women in The Bacchae not only leave their traditional place within the home but are thrust into a
promiscuous position that contrasts sharply with the usual characterization, [of] submissiveness
and modesty. The proper conduct of a Greek woman can be seen in another of Euripides dramas,
Iphigenia at Aulis, where the blameless wife is portrayed as chaste with regard to sexual matters.
Certainly the indulgences of the woodland orgies break from such secluded and silent positions of
respectable Athenian women, a challenge to traditional

Amanda Monologue
Bravery, a simple word that means so much. To speak up, even when it would be easier to be
quiet. There comes a time in all of our lives where we make a decision in a certain situation to do
the right thing even if we are scared of the consequence. I remember when I was in seventh grade I
had this friend, Amanda, that would get picked on by this bigger girl. Now, I know it is not up to me
to fight battles for others but bullyingis wrong. Amanda did not acknowledge this girl at all, and
usually the girl would just say mean things but one day it escalated. I guess the girl was tired of
being ignored so she decided to make a scene in front of everyone, and i was tired of my friend not
wanting to come to school because of this.
I decided it was time to do something. This girl was following Amanda in the hallway with her
finger pointed and her mouth scolding and everyone watching. I politely said, hey Jess, hows
your day? Are you ok? I do not think Amanda wants you in her face! She replies, she looks like
she wants me in her face. She slides a little closer to Amanda who is stuck in the corner. So I
slide in between them and let it be known that I was not moving and that she needed to leave
Amanda alone. Starting today we are officially all friends and friends do not treat people this way.

Duality And Duality In The Call Of The Wild
Duality in The Call of the Wild In the novel Call of the Wild, Buck, the protagonist struggles with
the constant duality between his Love of a Man and his pull towards savagery. The civilization that
greeted Buck in the Santa Clara Valley was one that was based on Southern Hospitality, but the
savagery that slowly ripped and consumed Buck was one of an unforgiving nature, destroying
anyone or anything that was unfortunate enough to see it. One major confliction Buck battles with
is his Loveof a Man while he is in the presence of civilization. In the beginning of the novel, while
Buck is still on Judge Miller s place, London states, His father, a huge saint bernard, had been the
judge s inseparable companion, and Buck bid fair to follow in the way of his father (12). Buck
enjoyed being in the company of the Judge s family and was comfortable in the ways of
civilization. On page 23, the novel states, Francois s whip snapped less frequently, and Perrault
even honored Buck by lifting up his feet and carefully examining them. When Perrault did this, it
made Buck feel that love of a man that he strives for. Later in the novel, John Thornton saved Buck
from his previous owners Hal, Charles, and Mercedes, and took care of Buck until his wounds
healed and he regained his strength. But love that was feverish and burning, that was adoration, that
was madness,it had taken John Thornton to arouse (58). Buck had never experienced true love for

Abstract
When asked what to define a Psychopath people will often respond with descriptions such as
remorseless or lacking in empathy . However due to the results of studies from the past 20 years
there may now be reason to believe that this is not always true. This study investigates the
relationship between Primary and Secondary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy.
The Levenson Self Report Psychopathy Scale and the Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test were used
to work out the Primary Secondary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy scores of 452 students
studying Psychology at Victoria University of Wellington. Scores were put into a correlational
design and it was found that Primary Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy have a significantly
negative correlation. This meant that there was a relationship between Primary Psychopathy and
Cognitive Empathy.
The Relationship Between Primary Secondary
Psychopathy and Cognitive Empathy Alot of research has been done to understand the relationship
between Primary(PP) Secondary Psychopathy(SP) and Cognitive Empathy(ToM). Psychopathy has
been divided into two subgroups: PP and SP. This distinction was made by Karpman(1948, cited in
Levenson, Kiehl and Fitzpatrick, 1995) . PP s are

With a tax credit, you get to subtract that amount from your tax liability. If you made $50,000 and
owe $5,000 in taxes, a tax credit of $1,000 means that you now owe just $4,000.
With a tax deduction, the deduction is subtracted from your taxable income. In the same $50,000
example, a $1,000 tax deduction means that you know have a $49,000 taxable income. If you are
taxed at the same rate as the previous example, then you would owe $4,900 in taxes. The most
common tax deduction is the personal exemption, which was $4,050 in 2016. Meanwhile, the child
tax credit is the most common tax credit. This worked out to $1,000 in 2016.

How Would A Trade Union Impact On My Family
The International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers has had an
immense impact on my life. My father has been part of this union for over twenty years and it has
been very important for my family. This union has not only helped my family, but it has also made
my childhood very enjoyable with all of the events that are hosted for the families of union
members. The union has hosted an annual Christmasparty that was welcome for my familyto attend,
it has picnics in the summer for all to enjoy, and most importantly, the union has helped my family
financially.
There were many events hosted by the union every year and the annual union Christmas party
that was held for all union members was my favourite one to attend, especially as a child. Every
Christmas, I would look forward to this party because I loved the presents I received and taking
pictures with Santa, which was my favourite thing to do during the Christmas season. The gifts

The Prague Spring Trio, And Alex
Introduction In establishing an enforceable contract it must first be held that there is an agreement
between the Prague Spring Trio (PST) and Alex. In order for an agreement to be upheld, there are
two elements which must be established. First, it must then be identified that an offer was made by
one party and a second party accepted this offer. Secondly, a contract comes into existence once the
acceptance of an offer has been communicated to the offeror. Therefore, this assignment will discuss
and advise whether Alex made an offer to the PST and whether the band accepted this offer by
communicating it to Alex. Additionally, whether any consideration has been provided, and whether
the circumstances lead to the application of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The advertisement is classified as an invitation to treat. An offer is distinguished from an
invitation to treat as it allows individuals to provide offers or enter into negotiations. Similar to
that of Pharmaceutical Society, the offer is when Alex applied for the saxophonist position,
comparable to when the customer picks the bottle of medicine from the shelves and places it on
the cash register. This does not amount to acceptance, it is merely an offer of which the band
has discretion to negotiate terms or reject the offer. Acceptance Acceptance is assessed on
whether there was a meeting of the minds and that the acceptance corresponds with the offer.
This is taken as an objective approach and can be concluded that acceptance has occurred where
a person conducts themselves in such a way that a reasonable person would believe that they
were assenting to the terms of the contract. PST had sent Alex a telegram informing her that she
was the successful candidate, alongside having correspondence via mobile in which PST
informed Alex to come to the rehearsal, which in accordance with the advertisement ensured Alex
would receive an all expenses paid trip. This suggests that Alex s offer was accepted by the band,
and the band s conduct in telling Alex where rehearsals were being held, along side an additional
promise of $2000 at the rehearsal, would insinuate to a reasonable person that acceptance had
occurred. Under this

Consumer society
Explore the claim that a consumer society is always a throw away society.
In this essay I will be outlining consumerism and claims that a consumer society is always a throw
away society. Consumption plays a big part in our lives and causes us to live in divided
societies. It may make us feel like we fit in buying new gadgets and clothes and also give us that
sense of belonging but we don t take into account what happens to the old items and packaging.
People do not want to look at the problems caused. I will use this essay with the evidence I have

We often question how our food and clothes can be sold so cheap, this all comes down to where it
is made or grown. Our clothes are made overseas in factories by women and in some cases even
children in unsuitable conditions. They work long hours and don t get paid much in return, it is
said to be less than what they can afford to live on and made to work extra hours. This is why large
stores like Primark and Asda can sell their clothes at such little cost. Some of the workers are said
to be working 60 to 90 hours every week for as little as ВЈ17 per month. (Making social lives
pg.88) The workers in the factories are grateful for their small wage and would struggle if the
factories were to close and business was took elsewhere.
The growth of consumption has caused a large increase in rubbish. This is due to people having
more choice when out shopping. Many years ago women stayed at home and men went to work
but now that both men and women are out earning there is a lot more disposable income which
ends with people buying luxuries and upgrading items they already have. This results in the old
ones being thrown away. People are constantly upgrading and renewing items to better models.
Mobile phones bring out new models every year which people feel the need to buy to keep up
with the trend and because they want the newest gadgets on the street. Pcs have changed to laptops
which gives the pc no home except out to be collected on bin day. This causes a problem

How The Brownies Saved Christmas Analysis
How the Brownies Saved Christmas
By
Paul Ray Childers
At the cold North Pole where Santa Claus dwells there live some very, very special little Elves.
They re not the ones that you may know.
These elves are called Brownies, so I am told.
Each one has his own special job and name and treats his work like it was a really fun game.
Yuley is the chief, Brownie number one.
He makes sure that all the jobs get properly done.
Uh oh checks all of their work for mistakes, that any one of the Brownies accidently makes.
Laylow checks beneath Santa s big sleigh, to see that there is nothing that gets in its way.
Early makes sure that the Brownies don t over sleep, so all of their jobs they may get to keep.

Santa leaped from his sleigh laughing and shouting, Ho! Ho! Ho!
It s much quicker landing that way than on snow!
Santa and the Brownies went all over the world that Christmas Eve night, at a time when there wasn
t a snowflake in sight!
So if anyone asks you, now you know how Santa gets his sleigh to places that have no snow.
So if you live in a place where snow never comes down, don t let your face get caught with a frown.
The Brownies will help Santa get his sleigh full of presents to you.
That is, if you ve been good. Now, that s true!
And when you leave treats for Santa to put in his mouth, be sure not to leave the Brownies without.
Set out cakes, chips and cookies, and set out a bunch!
Cause they don t have time to have dinner or lunch.
Leave them something to drink, too, like milk, punch or pop.
This will help them to work without having to stop.
It takes much strength to do what they do to help Santa get presents to me and to you!
So, Merry Christmas to all people, and Brownies and Elves, and to all those who think more of
others than they do of themselves.
Merry Christmas, from all the Brownies, who asked me to say,
Let Christmas live in your hearts every day!

Soccer Accuracy
I have been playing soccer as long as I can remember. Of course, I grew up kicking a ball around
with my uncles not knowing what the I was doing. Eventually, growing up, I understood more and
more; such as understanding that the ball needed to go in the goal. When reaching my middle
school years, my parents registered me on a soccer team. As usual, It was close to the same
running around my parents had experienced when I was younger. Of course, now I had better
knowledge of the gameand knew a bit more about how to play. When I reached my high school
years, I noticed I wasn t the best at the soccer. Now, I see myself improved in accuracy, chemistry,
and teamwork. First, my high school coach stated I needed improvement on my accuracy skills.
What my coach meant was that the ball had to go to where I meant it to go. For example, if I
passed the ball to one of my teammates it would have had to go to him and not the opponent.
Back then, I would accidentally embarrass myself by losing the ball because of a sloppy and weak
pass. According to my coach, another area I needed improvement was my crosses. Although my
crosses had power, they had no accuracy whatsoever. I d lose ball possession after my crosses

crowd cheered for me. As a result, I would try and dribble the ball and score. This was always so

Another selfish move I would did was not pass the ball to a teammate who would be at the
perfect angle to score. I would always try and take the fame for myself. Now, I know that all my
selfishness was wrong and it is very important to play together and share the fame. I learned that
playing smart, by not dribbling or goofing around, I save my energy and the team enjoys the
beautiful game of

Psychological Adjustments for Hirschsprung’s Disease
Hirschsprung Disease Occurring once in approximately 5000 live births, Hirschsprung disease is a
congenital abnormality characterized by the absence of autonomic parasympathetic ganglion cells
in the colon preventing peristalsis and resulting in intestinal obstruction and abdominal distension.
Also known as congenital aganglionic megacolon, this medical malady is an unfortunate anomaly
of a very vulnerable population infants and children. Hirschsprung disease can occur in otherwise
healthy babies, but is commonly diagnosed in combination with Down s syndrome and congenital
heart defects. Functional outcomes, thanks to contemporary medical advances, are generally
successful. As medical professionals, nurses play a significant role in helping patients achieve
therapeutic goals. Therapeutic goals also include a level of psychological wellness in living with
persistent bowel dysfunction after Hirschsprung surgery but few, if any, studies have addressed
this likelihood. Focusing on the results after definitive surgical repair of Hirschsprung disease, the
journal article, An example of psychological adjustment in chronic illness: Hirschsprung s disease

Effects Of Technology On The Economy Of The Country
Imagine a warm summer s day out in the country. No work, no distractions, just you and your
friends sipping wine, eating great food, and having even better conversation. This has become a
popular fantasy in Missouri, which is one of the many reasons why wineries in the state are
popping up left and right. With such a growing business industry there are many effects on the
economy of having wineries. In a world of technology, it is nice to be able to put the phone or
laptop away and answer to no one for a few hours. Being able to put technology aside allows for
the relaxing time so many people want to add to their lives. For those who live in the rural areas
where wineries are being built, it is a bit more challenging to live a relaxing life. The struggle to
find jobs in a small town that is not near much of anything becomes much easier when wineries
offer a variety of jobs and grants rural citizens the ability to find the relaxation they are looking
for. With the hustle of everyday life, people want to have a place they can go to unwind. Wineries
are an amazing option for peace and tranquility. Most wineries grow their own grapes and ferment
their own wineon site. With the business side of wine companiesin the same location as the winery,
many people get first hand experience of how wine is produced. Now, to have the manufacturing
side of wine companies in the same location as the winery, there must also be an abundance of

The findings on rumination is also interesting as it shows that thinking about the offense over

may allow the offender to feel like they can move on as they can stop dwelling on it. Although
the paper delved into important initial insights into what motivates forgiveness seeking, there is
still much that remains unknown about seeking forgiveness that should be researched in the
future. Such as, if the motivator for seeking forgiveness is guilt, then another area to look into
could be if merely seeking forgiveness decreases feelings of guilt, or if the offender has to be
forgiven in order to decrease feelings of guilt, and if this has any impact on forgiveness seeking

Sustainable Growth and Economic Development
Economic growth has been used with other terms such as development, modernization,
westernization and industrialization. It is, in other words, a transition from a simple, low income
economy to a modern, high income economy. Its scope includes the process and policies by which
a nation improves the economic, political, and social well being of its people. Though it is often
measured by rate of change of gross domestic product, it is generally understood in terms of
increase in per capita income, and attainment of a standard of living equivalent to that of
industrialized countries.
Economic growth implies a change in the way goods and services are produced, not merely an
increase in production achieved using the old methods of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There are other views that consider environmental and social challenges as opportunities for
development action. This is particularly true in the concept of sustainable enterprise that frames
these global needs as opportunities for private enterprise to provide innovative and entrepreneurial
solutions. This view is now being taught at many business schools in the West.
Sustainable development is said to set limits on the developing world. It is being argued, while
current first world countries polluted significantly during their development, the same countries
encourage third world countries to reduce pollution, which sometimes impedes growth.
Sustainability requires that human activity only uses nature s resources at a rate at which they can
be replenished naturally. Theoretically, the long term result of environmental degradation is the
inability to sustain human life. Such degradation on a global scale could imply extinction for
humanity.
In the Indian context, infrastructure development is critical for sustainable growth. It is often noted
that poor infrastructure a lack of water and sanitation, shoddy roads, and unpredictable energy
supply constrains foreign direct investment and overall economic potential. A key issue is of
attracting private investors willing to participate in infrastructure projects given their complex and
risky nature.

Zoroastrianism In Today s Society
Although, many of his people converted to another religions, he is not angry with them. This paper
s intent is to explain why in todays society, Zoroastrianism has become a small religion when,
during Ancient Times, the religion once had major influence.
Zoroastrianism is a religion founded by Zarathustra Spitma also, known as Zoroaster during the 6th
BCE, with an essential belief of an almighty God, Ahura Mazda. During Antiquity, modern day Iran
was once known as Persia, the Persian Empire was based in Western Asia and was notable for
including multiple societies while, becoming one of the largest empires of ancient history. Yet, how
come in todays society, Zoroastrianism no longer has a major influence, what actually led to the
oppression ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

who assassinated Caliph Uma.This act of courage was the first voice of protest which influenced
many uprising such as Abu Moslem of Khrassan, the white and red clad, Maziyar Afshin and
others. Abu Moslem of Khrassan was a general in service of the Abbasid dynasty, who led the
revolution to topple the Umayyad Dynasty. This revolution essentially marked the end of the Arab
empire and the beginning of a more inclusive, multiethnic state in the Middle East. However, the

Making A Band Or Start Writing Music
When people create a band or start writing music, they want money. In the early 20th century, artists
were not receiving the royalties that they should have earned. Enter the first Performing Rights
Organization which is also called a PRO that promised what the artist should be earning, money.
PROs were fine until the organizations realized how much money they can earn. PROs exist for a
reason, but the cost of the license, why they are non profit , and why the artist has to sign with
PRO s that make PROs truly evil. In February 1914, the first PRO in the United States was formed.
Music writers came together and The American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers was
formed. The ASCAP sought out artists, composers, and publishers to... Show more content on

But not all of the artists are under one PRO, so the person must buy a license from each PRO
that represents the artist s music that they would be playing (Public Performance Licenses and
Music for Your Small Business). If the person thinks they can get away with not paying, think
again. PROs are always in court suing small businesses for copyright infringement. On average,
the lawsuit ends up being $700 $30,000 depending on the severity of the infringement.
Depending on what license they are applying for, the cost varies. License fees range from $300
$500 and could cost more depending on some variables like if the music would be for a dance
studio or for a church (Public Performance Licenses and Music for Your Small Business). A PRO
might sound like a good thing, right? But you re wrong because the PROs goal is to make a
profit for the company. An organization s job is to make money, and then they pay taxes on the
revenue they receive. If an organization says they are non profit, they usually do not have to pay
taxes on the revenue they earn. PROs like ASCAP and BMI say they are non profit, which
means more profit for the artist, right? Wrong (Why You Should Think Twice Before Joining
ASCAP, BMI or SESAC). Members of the ASCAP earn 86.5 cent for every dollar that the ASCAP
earns. But isn t the other 13.5 cents profit? But PROs do that for one specific reason, to trap artist.

Characteristics Of Holden Caulfield A Modern Day Hero
In J.D Salinger s novel, The Catcher in the Rye, protagonist and narrator Holden Caulfield is the
quintessential anti hero who at times displays elements of traditional heroic qualities. Caulfield, a
troubled teenager, has been expelled from multiple prep schools and faces difficulties with fitting
anywhere in society. He is notorious for being impulsive, cynical, skeptical, and quite aloof at
times. Because of his cynicism and judgmental nature, Holden finds it difficult to make friends.
This feeling of alienation leads Holden to blame the people around him and describe them as
phony and artificial. For the most part, Holden does not possess the traits of a typical modern day
hero because he lacks physical and mental strength, is unable to adhere to the... Show more content

Holden appears to be feeble and impetuous when he attacks Stradlater for not describing his date
with Jane, a girl Holden adores. Stradlater throws Holden onto the floor with ease and punches
him until his face bleeds. Additionally, Holden admits to being a habitual liar, demonstrating
that he has low moral scruples. He boasts, I m the most terrific liar you ever saw in your life. It s
awful. If I m on the way to the store to buy a magazine, even, and somebody asks me where I m
going, I m liable to say I m going to the opera, (Salinger 22). Holden s lack of physical strength
coupled with his dishonesty shows that he does not possess heroic qualities. Holden also lacks
courage, which is uncharacteristic of a true hero. A self described coward, Holden states, It s no
fun being yellow. Maybe I m not all yellow... I think I m partly yellow... (Salinger 117). Holden
displays his lack of courage many times through out the novel. He admits he would not try to fight
for his stolen gloves, from an unknown thief, should the situation arise. He is also afraid to face

Canada Renewable Energy Case Study
2.2 The wrong definition of the market and the creation of the market
2.21 A brief introduction of Canada Renewable Energy/FIT In Canada Renewable Energy/FIT, the
AB made several innovations which were criticized by commentators. The argument started from
the provision of FIT system by the government of the Canadian Province of Ontario. The province
of Ontario provided a feed in tariff program to the renewable energy (wind and solar energy)
producers which compromised 20 year price guarantee. Then, the Panel and the AB were required
to determine whether the province of Ontario conferred advantages on the renewable energy
producers. It was the responsibility for the complainants (Japan and Europe) to prove that the
actions of the province ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be specific, the AB stated even if the demand side factors suggested that the definition of the
market should be a single electricity market, regardless of its sources, the supply side elements also
implied that the renewable energy market created by the government should be the market
benchmark which should be distinguished from the regular energy market. As stated above, it is
clear that the theories of supply side and demand side were in the equal position. Therefore, there
was not enough evidence for the AB to abandon the theory of demand side . As these two theories
were in the equal position, the consumers views should be worth referring to. To be specific, the
Panel found that the consumers do not distinguish electricity on the basis of generation
technologies, prices and usage. Furthermore, the AB also expressed the same opinion, saying
electricity is identical and there is high demand substitutability between electricity through various
technologies. Obviously, the consumers did not care about the electricity generation sources. In
sum, according to the EU experiences and the attitudes of the consumers, the definition of the
market should not be confined to a renewable energy market, instead, a broader wholesale
electricity market should be the appropriate benchmark. If the renewable energy market is adopted
to measure subsidies,

The National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC), as determined by the Surface Transportation Board (STB), is the tariff system that has classification and description of commodities based on four main characteristics. These are density of the commodity, liability, handling and storability of the commodity. Carrier companies negotiate the rate and terms of transporting the commodities on the basis of these four characteristics. It is important to mention that product density is the dominant factor that determines use of carrier s vehicle and cost per hundredweight. During 1980s, TL segment of the motor carrier industry rapidly outgrew other segments such as LTL, rail boxcars, and long haul private fleets. 3. Railroads have abandoned a significant number of miles of track (over 260,000 miles) since 1916. Why has this trend developed? Will it continue into the future? Why or why not? The major reason of railroads abandoning significant number of miles of track (over 260,000) has been the rapid inter model transportation competition. Since the gradual deregulation of railroad industry, the two major industry segments in motor carrier transportation have been truck load (TL) and less than truck load (LTL) industries. TL and LTL industry segments have rapidly developed after the US government reregulated the transportation industry. There has been an increasing competition of rail boxcars with trucking industry. The improvement of water ways carried out by the engineering corps of the U.S army has also led to increased competition between inter modal transportation carriers. The trend is ... Every society, in the Caribbean or anywhere else, is a product of the particular historical forces that shaped it and gave it form. Usually, the slaves in the lowest rung of this social ladder were the ones who rebelled and often domestic slaves were the ones who betrayed them by reporting the plots to their master. (www.guyana.org). As a result of the enslaved Africans in the Caribbean, wherever there was slavery, there was resistance . (V. shepherd). Until recently the role of the African people who resisted enslavement and fought to end slavery in various ways during the Transatlantic Slave Trade had been ignored. It is important to remember that resistance to slavery had a long history. It began in Africa itself when the Africans fought against enslavement and continued on board the ships, during the middle passage and also on the plantations. (N.p, 2009) There were different forms of resistances used by the enslaved Africans in the Caribbean cam be broken down into two main categories; violent and non violent resistances or more formerly active and passive resistance. There was also marronage which can fall into the category of non violent resistance whether it was grand, petit or maritime marronage. Anger mostly makes people lose control of themselves and drives them to act violently. As Seneca agrees and mentions, we can consider anger as a short madness because even if it s for one second of rage we feel, we go mad. We can t think properly and due to that we can t act properly. Seneca says Anger is the desire of revenge, not the power and faculty of it. and Those who think of injuring us are already considered as they injured us because they did it in conceit. • 7. The Role Of The Supernatural In Richard III The supernatural is a prevalent force throughout all of Shakespeare s plays, from his comedies to his tragedies. What often varies, however, is the reason behind the supernatural. Is it a figment of the imagination or is it real? Is it caused by psychological guilt or are the dead out for revenge? More often than not, the supernatural are used as propaganda to affirm a monarch s position on the throne. Particularly, I argue that Shakespeare uses ghosts in Richard III to rewrite history for the current reigning monarch, a motif which he then repeats in Macbeth. Richard III s ghosts are not nearly as present as the ghosts in Macbeth. They only show up once in a dream sequence, cementing them firmly as figments of Richard s mind. It is telling then that the only time when ghosts do show up, they condone Richard III and hope for Richmond s success. Specifically, even Richard s closest allies have turned on him: O in the battle think on Buckingham/And die in terror of thy guiltiness (Shakespeare, Richard III 5.5.123 4). In other words, Buckingham the man who was by Richard s side up until the fourth act, where he suddenly gained a conscience thinks Richard deserves to die for his tyrannical rule. What does it say when even your confidantes have turned on you? It certainly cements the idea that Richard s rule was horrible and destructive, which really was not all that true. The majority of what affects our daily lives is socialization, with the addition of social construction, organic solidarity and culture (Giddens, A., Duneier, M., Appelbaum, R., Carr, D., 2014). In every attempt to break free from the chain put upon us by these societal norms, we only dig ourselves deeper into what society wants from us. Recently I ve attempted to dig deeper into how the high demands of society has affected me personally and I ve realized that it started from the time that I was born. Ideally, one needs to understand the cultural turn in their lives to understand how everything surrounding them in their daily lives (Giddens, 2014, p. 60). Starting at a very young age, I ve been labeled by society. When I was born, no one focused on the idea of what I would turn out to be. Instead, they focused on putting me in fluffy, pink outfits and imprinting me with femininity. They focused on showing me Disney movies with female leads that depended on men to save them and whisk them away to a life of luxury. There was a strong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Tragic Hero In Arthur Miller s Death Of A Salesman Title Goes Here The play named, Death of a Salesman, written by Arthur Miller, still remains an classic . There is much conversation about this play being defined as a tragedy . According to Aristotle s definition, A tragedy is the imitation of an action that is serious and also, as having magnitude, complete in itself; in appropriate and pleasurable language;... in a dramatic rather than narrative form; with incidents arousing pity and fear, wherewith to accomplish a catharsis of these emotions. This play can be defined as a tragedy because of two reasons. The first reason being that the downfall of a person who believes that doing something wrong is the right choice. Doesn t bother to think how it will affect him or her and others around them. Another reason of the play Death of a Salesmanis of lack of the sense ,comprehension, of achieving the classical American dream. Defining the play as a tragedy, does it makes Willy Loman a tragic hero? Aristotle once stated, A tragic hero is a literary character who makes a judgment error that inevitably leads to his/her own destruction. Arthur Miller believed that the common man best fits an tragic hero because they deal with everyday life, struggling to live the American Dream. Never does Arthur states Willie Loman name, he is just a primary example. Insistence upon the rank of the tragic hero, or so called nobility of his character, is really but a clinging to the ... • 10. A Brief Article On Being An Atheist Response Paper on H.J. McCloskey article On being an atheist Name Course Date During the year 1968, an atheist philosopher H.J. McCloskey came up with a powerful argument about how being an atheist was greater than the theistic way of life. Through this article, McCloskey finds a way to condemn numerous arguments which theist consider as true and in most cases seem to mock and impeach the believers of God. Some of the arguments that McCloskey tries to diminish are the three mutual proofs that most theists depend upon for their belief in God. The proofs include; cosmological proof, teleological proof and the argument from design. McCloskey also talks about the complications of evil and how its presence rejects the truth about God. At the end of the article, he maintains that atheism is heartening, meaning that it is more calming than theism. Below are a detailed discussion and validity of the truth about the three claims that McCloskey wants to rebate in the article and finally dispute the problem of evil to censure the thought that atheism is cool and comforting1. McCloskey mostly insults the theistic opinion as one of ignorance and ambiguity. Referring to the believers of God, he say they do not think hard enough nor far enough about the difficulty of an uncaused reason, who has to be a unavoidably existing being to prove that the argument is far less conclusive than it appears to be at first sight. In addition, his reference of theists as being ignorant is clearly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Causes Of The Fabian Movement The economic climate of the latter half of the 19th century was one of upheaval. London was quite influenced by several socialist thinkers during this time including Karl Marx. Marx passed away in 1883, leaving behind many radical socialists who influenced the burgeoning Fabian Movement. H.M. Hyndman and Henry George were two important figures who wrote pivotal pieces of literature. Henry George published Progress and Povertyin 1879 and greatly influenced many of the socialists who came into the Fabian Society (Fremantle, 1961, p.20). Two years later, H.M. Hyndman wrote England for All and later that year went on to found the Democratic Federation (later called the Social Democratic Federation) (Fremantle, 1961, p. 22). Both George and Hyndman were fans of Marx and believed in his violent revolutionary ideology yet, what helped form the Fabians was their dislike of this particular tenet. Laissez faire Liberalism and its twin Capitalism were major sources of disproval for the individuals who would go on to create the Fabian Society in 1884. Laissez faire liberalism was seen to be the source of much unrest and unhappiness among the impoverished in the world. They saw the system of Capitalism to be an oppressive, tyrannical system. W.L. Dionysus and the Unraveling of Ideologies in The Bacchae Dionysus and the Unraveling of Ideologies in The Bacchae Some evaluations claim that the Dionysus appearing in The Bacchae is fairly true embodiment of the ideals of ancient Athens. He demands only worship and proper reverence for his name, two matters of honor that pervaded both the Greek tragedies and the pious society that viewed them. In other plays, Oedipus consultations with Apollo and the many Choral appeals to Zeus reveal the Athenian respect for their gods, while Electra s need for revenge and Antigone s obligation to bury Polyneices both epitomize the themes of respect and dignity. Yet although Dionysuspersonifies these two motifs, his clashes with the rest of Athenian tradition seem to make him its true adversary. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (118 199), and Pentheus later employs the same motif when threatening, I shall have them sold as slaves or put to work / at my looms (513 514). Such a deliberate analogy amidst the clash of divine and earthly power seems to highlight the woman s domesticated place and to call attention to her role as a pawn in the struggle between the king and the god. Though women were almost excluded from Athenian public life and women s presence in male company [was] surrounded by many taboos in Athenian culture, the frenzied Bacchae serve a necessary and conspicuous function in this drama. Women in The Bacchae not only leave their traditional place within the home but are thrust into a promiscuous position that contrasts sharply with the usual characterization, [of] submissiveness and modesty. The proper conduct of a Greek woman can be seen in another of Euripides dramas, Iphigenia at Aulis, where the blameless wife is portrayed as chaste with regard to sexual matters. This does not amount to acceptance, it is merely an offer of which the band has discretion to negotiate terms or reject the offer. Eventually, growing up, I understood more and more; such as understanding that the ball needed to go in the goal. When reaching my middle school years, my parents registered me on a soccer team. As usual, It was close to the same running around my parents had experienced when I was younger. Of course, now I had better knowledge of the gameand knew a bit more about how to play. When I reached my high school years, I noticed I wasn t the best at the soccer. Now, I see myself improved in accuracy, chemistry, and teamwork. First, my high school coach stated I needed improvement on my accuracy skills. What my coach meant was that the ball had to go to where I meant it to go. For example, if I passed the ball to one of my teammates it would have had to go to him and not the opponent. Back then, I would accidentally embarrass myself by losing the ball because of a sloppy and weak pass. According to my coach, another area I needed improvement was my crosses. Another selfish move I would did was not pass the ball to a teammate who would be at the perfect angle to score. I would always try and take the fame for myself. This is particularly true in the concept of sustainable enterprise that frames these global needs as opportunities for private enterprise to provide innovative and entrepreneurial solutions. It is being argued, while current first world countries polluted significantly during their development, the same countries encourage third world countries to reduce pollution, which sometimes impedes growth. Sustainability requires that human activity only uses nature s resources at a rate at which they can be replenished naturally. Theoretically, the long term result of environmental degradation is the inability to sustain human life. Such degradation on a global scale could imply extinction for humanity. As stated above, it is clear that the theories of supply side and demand side were in the equal position. Therefore, there was not enough evidence for the AB to abandon the theory of demand side . As these two theories were in the equal position, the consumers views should be worth referring to.
