Here in the United States the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Federal White Collar
Crime Center (NW3C) partnered and established the IC3, which is the Internet Crime Complaint
Center. This is a central place where Internet crimes can be reported and then those crimes will be
investigated and transferred to the appropriate law enforcement agencies as well as appropriate
regulatory agencies.
1. The Internet crimes can often overlap between fraud and other crimes. Because of these overlapping
crimes it is important the there is communication and cooperation between our own agencies and
international agencies.
2. Discuss the level of cooperation between our law enforcement agencies and international agencies
and the problems they face.
B. The overwhelming amount of Internet fraud and crimes on individuals, small business, financial
institutions can be overwhelming for law enforcement because of the lack of fully trained, qualified
investigators. Basically we have more crime that we have laws and law enforcement officials can
handle.
1. We must have sufficient laws against these particular crimes. Our judicial system faces challenges
in developing the laws against the crimes. The other problem that law enforcement faces is the
collection of evidence and the fine line between public and private information available online. In
some cases there have been problems with collecting evidence and their relation to the first and

The Tempest Imperialism
The play, The Tempest by William Shakespeare, follows the journey of the magical Prospero and his
search for revenge on those who had victimized him. Stranded on an island for twelve years with his
daughter Miranda and servants Caliban and Ariel, Prospero shipwrecks the men who put him there by
conjuring up a terrible and violent storm from which the play gets its name. Prospero watches over the
shipwrecked group who were responsible for betraying him, including his brother Antonio, who stole
his position of Duke of Milan. The Tempest, written between 1610 and 1611 in the midst of European
expansion and colonization of the Americas, is symbolic of the negative repercussions associated with
imperialism. William Shakespeare s The Tempest draws an allusion to the age of exploration and
critiques the effects of colonial expansion through the main characters, including Prospero and
Caliban. The Tempest offers insight into the effects colonial expansion has on both parties because of
the symbolic representation of the main characters and their connection to the idea of colonial
expansion as well as a setting that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only is Caliban himself a symbol of the mistreatment of Native Americans but his name is
connected to the stereotype that all native tribes practiced cannibalism. The Tempest may be
considered a colonial text because of this and also it raises the question of the occupation of new lands
and the cruel mistreatment of the natives there while critiquing colonial projects such as Jamestown
that were so widely supported by English colonists (Pettigrew). Ultimately the divide between the
relationships of Prospero and Caliban is similar to the divide experienced by colonists and Native
Americans during the 17th century. Much of this has to do with the location and the appeal it has by

Purpose Of Advertising In Advertising
Advertisements come in all shapes and forms; billboards, commercials, signs, prints...etc. Yet, they all
have one thing in common: to spread a message. The sole purpose of an advertisement is to not only
inform their target audience, but to make their audience carry out an action. These actions can range
from buying a specific product, eating healthier, or helping those in need. The advertisements i ve
chosen are print ads. Both ads share the same purpose; the prevention of animal and domestic abuse.
These two images focus on the rhetorical device pathos; the term pathos is defined as emotion.
Though, different, the two images are highly effective in sending their message: report animal and
domestic abuse. Through imagery, color schemes, and key phrases; which inform the audience and
hopefully prevent the situation.
In some cases, advertisements like to rely solely on imagery to spread their message. The first image
on top depicts a german shepherd. The german shepherd relatively looks young as if it s a view
months old. Additionally, the german shepherd is looking off into the distance almost as if it s in high
alert. This is because whenever we imagine a german shepherd, we automatically assume: guard dog.
German shepherds are well known for their unconditional loyalty, intelligence, and protection. Which
is why this ad personally makes me feel safe and protected. By including the german shepherd looking
off into the distance, fuels the sense of tranquility and

Steganography Critical Review
Purpose This critical review is to investigate steganographic studies and their methods to either
exfiltrate data or defend against data exfiltration. Steganography has one main purpose, to conceal
data. Huang s (2011) method, embedding steganographic data in inactive frames of low bit rate audio
streams went against the norm (Aoki, 2008), (Wu et al., 2006), used active frames of high bit rate
audio streams. Active high bit rate audio streams have higher least significant bit counts, which
presents added frames to conceal steganographic payloads (Huang et al., 2011). Howbeit, Huang

Nagaraja s (2011) research purpose was to initiate future studies into defensive measures against
botnets. Botnets have a unique ability to coordinate the sending and receiving of new commands to
bots that grant the botmaster immense power to execute criminal activities, such as, phishing attacks,
DDoS attacks, and ransomware attacks (Nagaraja, et al., 2011). Which have intensified to where
presently botnets control hundreds of thousands of hosts and produce millions of dollars in revenue for
their creators (Nagaraja, et al., 2011). Contrary to traditional botnets, Stegobot s communication traffic
does not open new communication endpoints between the bots (Nagaraja, et al., 2011). Stegobot takes
advantage of social media networks by operating along the edges, while utilizing image
steganography techniques to hide covert communication during the interchanging of images among
users (Nagaraja, et al., 2011). Network traffic visualization method designed by Mazurczyk (2012)
focuses on network anomaly detection principles. Mazurczyk s main purpose of doing his research
was to detect anomalies in network traffic flow, that can cause malicious actions that could
compromise network security. Typical anomaly detection methods instituted across networks focus on
discovering illegal activities orchestrated by probable attackers (Mazurczyk, et al., 2012). Current
security devices lack the effectiveness needed in today s immense traffic volumes that need current

Aneci Persuitti ENGC 1101 SEC 43 December 15, 2014 The Effects of Cell Phone Use on Driving
Performance and Safety As technology advances, people are relying on it more and more. Cell phones
have literally become a necessity. Every day on the roads, people are driving and using their cell
phones to talk, text, browse the internet, use GPS, etc. According to the International
Telecommunication Union, the number of mobile cellular subscriptions worldwide is approaching the
number of people on earth. Mobile cellular subscriptions will reach almost 7 billion by end 2014,
corresponding to a penetration rate of 96% (3). If the number of cell phone subscribers reaches the
world s population by the end of 2014, almost every driver will have a cell phone in their car and
consequently, more drivers will be using them while driving. Can cell phone use while driving affect
driving performance and safety? The answer is yes. There are several studies related to the effect of
cell phone use on driving performance and these studies share very similar findings. In one study,
researchers Lesch and Hancock wanted to know if drivers were aware of their driving performance
when using a cell phone. The driver s driving performance was associated with the driver s confidence
level and distraction level. In particular, the higher the confidence level, the better the driving
performance was shown by the driver. The study found that male drivers had a greater confidence

Taming Of The Shrew Analysis
Kate desires love, regardless of how mean and crude she begins. In act one, scene one, when Kate ties
her sister s arms, she questions Bianca of all of the suitors that are after Bianca. Bianca recognizes this
cruel act as jealousy and a choice to be loved when she states, is it for Gremio you do envy me so? . It
is not gremio or any other suitor that kate feels jealousy closer to; she feels jealous of Bianca and how
every body, even their father, views her as the favored sister. Bianca is Katherina s more youthful,
extra appropriate sister. While she is higher liked by most characters than Katherina, she has a slightly
smaller position in the play. While she does talk, she shows herself to be smart, as while she flirts and
trades witticisms with lucentio while he s coaching her. On the stop of the play, she refuses to return

could tarnish the brand image leading to lower customer loyalty.
Dependency on mature markets and specific stores:
P and G s prime focus has been on mature markets like USA and western Europe with 26% and 22%
of company s sales respectively. Even though the sales in emerging markets has been 35% of sales, P
and G is not putting much effort in growing in these emerging markets. P and G has been dependent
on Walmart stores for majority of its sales, but this also can have a negative impact during financial
crisis of Walmart.
Lack of diversified customer portfolio:
P and G s 35% of sales is contributed by top 10 customers. Thus, the company s revenues are
concentrated among a few top customers. Thus, if these top customers face any financial difficulties,
the chance of affecting company s revenue is large.
Opportunities:
Emerging markets:
The emerging markets of Latin America, India, Middle East, Korea, etc present significant
opportunities for P and G due to increase in household income and emerging middle class.
These factors will drive emerging markets and will make them more attractive in the future for

Effective Conflict Prevention and Management Essay
We are responsible for our actions in every situation. Choosing appropriate conflict style is the key to
effective conflict prevention and management. We use our favorite conflict style in conflict situations
but we can choose a different style when it is needed. I have never thought of my conflict style before.
The quiz provided in this course gave me an opportunity to rediscover this aspect of myself. The style
of conflict management quiz tells me that I have the orange conflict style. It tells me that I have a
collaborative style of managing conflict. Cooperative problem solving style enables people to work
together so no one loses but everyone is the winner. People who use this style try to find a solution

The goals of collaborating style is to integrate solutions, learning, merging perspectives, gaining
commitment, and improving relationships. It works best in handling conflicts over important issues.
This mode has high assertiveness and high cooperation. It is a best style adopted to find a solution of a
conflict that would not have been generated by a single individual. This strategy works best when both
sides have trust in them and are working towards a common goal. For example, if team members are
establishing initial parameters for how to work effectively together, then collaborating mode could be
quite useful to complete a task. The Chinese proverb is even the teeth would sometime bite the tongue
. Even in marriage conflict does arise and call for resolution. I find that the conflict style with my
husband is more often collaborating but sometimes accommodating. The conflict style with my boss is
different from my default collaborating style. I think that this relation fits better in the accommodation
category which is quite similar to the collaboration conflict style. My conflict style is different in
working with boss because the accommodating style is a lose win situation as compared to the win
win collaborating style. A lose win situation is when you do things for the sake of a good relationship
with your boss, you would try to focus on his views first and put yourself next, ignoring the issues that

My Writing Log
Reading and Writing is something that is done without even thinking about it, to me it is like a natural
instinct that one just has developed over the years. I was surprised with my reading and writing log
because I would have never expected to read and write as much as it shows in my daily log that I had
to keep for a week. I noticed that I tend to divide my reading and writing into three categories such as
school, leisure and work. During the writing diary assignment I had to also keep track of the format I
used to read and write. This log showed me that I tend to do about the same amount of use of
electronic and physical formats. Most of my time was spent in academic reading. The reason why
academic reading takes most of my time is because as a college student, I am expected to read on my
own time to be prepared for the in class discussion. My daily log showed that I spend about 5 hours of
my day reading for school. This number will most likely increase due to my chemistry and

Papers On Psalm 22
Psalms is the biggest book of the Old Testament. It is rich with many wonderful teachings along with
love and praise for God. The pages are bound with every type of emotion from grief to elated worship.
Anyone from any culture, race, or section of society can find common ground with at least one psalm.
We can also use the Psalms in many different situations whether that be for a community of people or
for ourselves. The book Dictionary of the Old Testament: Wisdom, Poetry Writings explains this on
page 579, The psalms have remained a central fixture for corporate worship and private devotion over
the centuries. Readers have been enamored by their poetic language, rich imagery and stark honesty.
Moreover, there are many different genres ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this section, we will be reviewing Psalms 22. Although a lament psalm may seem dark and
negative, it can actually be very a beneficial prayer to God. Steven I. Lawson explains the importance
of this genre in his book Psalms 1 75, These highly emotionally charged psalms record the writer s
heart cry to God for divine deliverance from the psalmist s trouble and pain. As humans, we are not
able to control the emotions that we feel and at what extent we feel them. Meanwhile, we are able to
control our actions. Psalm 22:12 14 reads, Many bulls surround me; strong bulls of Bashan encircle
me. Roaring lions that tear their prey open their mouths wide against me. I am poured out like water,
and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted within me . In my case, I
bottled up my emotions from a very young age. I would make a point not to show my sadness what so
ever. When I entered my teenage years this backlashed. Due to the fact that I had no outlet for my
emotions, I found another. I started cutting myself at the age of 15. I did not know why I did. In the
meantime, I was so confused. Hundreds of conflicting emotions filled my heart like they do to any
other teenage. I was terrified that my parents would find out that I cut in places where no one would
see. It was not until two years later that I found out that self harm was a sin. On the other hand, a safer
less sinful way of dealing with our emotions is reading lament prayers. Davida Charney states in his
article Maintaining Innocence Before a Divine Hearer, For those seeing the psalms as therapeutic, the
laments record moment by moment turns in emotion; a despairing individual is eventually enabled to
affirm faith in God We can also see that the passage moves into praise after the writer is finished
grieving: You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! Revere him,
all you descendants of Israel! For he

The Presentation Of Self In Everyday Life Erving Goffman...
This week, we talked about the development of the self. The most interesting readings for me was The
Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman. In this piece, Goffman discusses the
dramaturgical theory of social interaction, which is the view that we put on a social facade in our daily
lives, as if we are all actors in a theatrical performance. There are two main points that really stood out
to me. First was impression management, more specifically, the (mis)alignment of expressions given
and expressions given off. This is so common in everyday life. One of our goals as life actors is
confirming that others are making a good impression, but we often struggle to convey that because of
a misalignment in our explicit verbal cues

Moisture can be gained or lost from the air based conditions from the surrounding environment or
how the pinewood is stored. As water is soaked into the pine wood the wood will start to contract due
to all the moisture it has gained, if the pine wood is freshly cut from the pine tree and is exposed to air
the wood will immediately begin to lose moisture and the wood will not contract at this point of time.
Pine wood is cheap and very affordable to buy from hardware stores and other stores that supply pine
wood. Pine wood is readily available in hardware stores, timber yards, and pinewood suppliers.
The advantages of pine wood is it s cheap and it s a renewable resource. Pinewood is fast growing in
comparison to other timbers. Pine wood is readily available from hardware stores, timber yards, and
pine wood suppliers. Pine wood is a soft wood and can easily be marked by even a finger nail. Pine
wood is very easy to work with and it can be cut radially to make more use of the tree. Pine wood is

The disadvantages of using pinewood is that it is not long lasting and pinewood deteriorates rapidly
meaning becoming progressively worse when not used or stored properly. The best way to finish of

Characters In Life Of Pi
The novel Life of Pi illustrates the life of a character named Pi during his 227 days lost at sea. There is
a strong connection between the author Yann Martel and the characters and setting in the story Life of
Pi. Martel s time spent in India was the major influence for this book as many of the characters and
story are influenced by his experiences in India. The animals in the book, which play a major part in
the story, are influenced primarily from Martel s visit to the Trivandrum Zoo, which contains all the
animals in the story except the orangutan. Religion also plays a major role in the story, which is
influenced from Martel s visit to India as he learned about the religious culture of India. Although
Martel did not directly experience the events that occurred in Life of Pi, his time spent in India helped
to influence his work. Yann Martel s visit to the Trivandrum Zoo helped to largely inspire the
characters in his novel Life of Pi. Even Luke Harding agrees that the: Trivandrum Zoo one of India s
oldest provided much of the inspiration behind Yann Martel s extraordinary novel Life of Pi, which
won the Booker prizelast week (Harding). Some of the most important characters in Life of Pi come in
the form of animals, and all of these animals can be found in this zoo except for the orangutan. Martel
s visit to the Trivandrum Zoo helped to give character to the animals as it helped to give Martel a
perspective on the animals behavior, particularly the

Cultural Memory
As a paradigmatic place of public involvement and symbolic disclosure, theatre has always served as a
suggestive source of inspiration for architects and played a role in relation to architectural theories and
ideas. Every collective memory unfolds within a spatial framework. Space is a reality that endures:
since our impressions rush by, one after another, and leave nothing behind in the mind, we can
understand how we recapture the past only by understanding how it is, in effect, preserved by our
physical surroundings.
Not so many years ago, the word space had a strictly geometrical meaning: the idea it evoked was
simply that of an empty area. In scholarly use it was generally accompanied by some such epithet as

relationship between theatre and memory is very complex and multifaceted, especially since, unlike
the other arts, the dramatic art includes active involvement of flesh and blood humans on the stage of
life here and now. According to Mirushe Hoxha if, ideally, the spectator truly receives the presented
experience in his/her own self, the experience will leave an eternal trace in the storage of his/her
incorporated motivation, that is, in his/her recessive body, at the behest of which his/her future ecstatic
bodily functions may echo in the context of social practices. When the actor s body makes an offering
to the spectator s body, theatre becomes a breeding ground for new results, at least of its own history.
Theatre then really turns into an act of the most deeply rooted, genuine love between two human

Sexual Selection and Sexual Conflict Essay
Charles Darwin characterized sexual selection as variance in the number of mates . The purpose of
sexual selection is to perfect the secondary sexual characteristics, which are the morphological
differences between the two sexes. On the other hand the primary sexual characteristics are the
differences between the reproductive genital systems of the two sexes. Sexual selection instead of
adapting the individual to the environment, like natural selection, it does enhance traits involved in
mate acquisition. Sexual conflict, on the other hand, occurs when males and females have different
reproductive interests and deriving from the urge of sexual reproduction. This is boosted by
promiscuity when males and females have several partners. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In 1990 Barette and Vandal studied sparring in caribou. From the 713 matches between males of
different antler sizes, 90% of the time males with the smaller antlers retreated. Also there is the
intersexual selection, which is also known as the female choice. There are three cases of intersexual
selection. Firstly, the female choice co evolved with trait exaggeration, otherwise called Fisher s
process. Secondly, the choosy females gain direct benefit and thirdly, females are choosy because of
sensory bias. Fisher s process is divided in two phases. At phase one, the female preferences evolve
because the trait that they prefer is favored by natural selection and as a result, their offspring are more
likely to have the beneficial trait. When there is a distinct difference in a species, which is linked with
the selective advantage, the females tend to choose the males that clearly distinguish the difference
that is to be observed and they will prefer the most advantageous type. As for phase two, once the
female preferences exist, males with the specific trait are more fit, which is both a natural and a sexual
selection advantage. As a result there will be an increasing selective force favoring stronger
preferences and more extreme traits. The runaway process will eventually stop, when there is no
longer genetic variation for further trait or preference exaggeration or when the viability costs of the
trait, balance sexual

Monologue Of Amontillado
I am Fortunato, respected and feared by many. It was evening and the aroma of wine indicated it was

more wine, Montresor pulls me aside mentioning a pipe of Amontillado. Montresor offered me some

Luchresi, said Montresor. Luchesi? I questioned. Luchesi cannot tell Amontillado from sherry!

Prior to the expansion of mobile networks, agricultural producers were often unaware about prices and
had to rely on information from traders and agents, the report said.
Delays in obtaining this data or misinterpretation of second hand pricing information has serious
consequences for agricultural producers, who may end up underselling their products, delivering too
little or too much of the product, or having their products wither away, the World Bank said.
The study also mentioned Cebu City where taxi drivers use mobile phones with global positioning
systems to receive traffic data and dispatch information.
The report added that social media, along with messages, videos and pictures sent from mobile
phones, were useful tools for organizing protests and monitoring democracy and freedom.
Mobile communications offer major opportunities to advance human and economic development from
providing basic access to health information to making cash payments, spurring job creation, and
stimulating citizen involvement in democratic processes, said World Bank vice president for
sustainable development Rachel Kyte.
The challenge now is to enable people, businesses and governments in developing countries to
develop their own locally relevant mobile applications so they can take full advantage of these
opportunities, Kyte added.

Introduction to the Dandora Municipal Waste dumping site
Over the last three decades, public health states that there has been a growing global distress that
attributed to environmental pollution, in specific, the global burden disease. This problem is
increasing slowly. According to the World Health Organization about a quarter of the disease facing
mankind today occur due to persistent exposure to environmental pollution. Several of these
environment related diseases are hard to detect and may have been developed as a child and progress
later in adulthood. One of the main problems that cause environmental pollution and degradation in
many cities, and mainly in developing countries is the improper management of solid waste.
Municipal waste dumping site is entitled places for waste disposal. Depending on a city s level of
waste management, waste can be literally dumped, separated for recycling purposes, or simply burnt.
Poor waste management poses an enormous challenge to the health of city residents, especially those
who live near the dump sites. The waste can potentially pollute water, food sources, land, air and
vegetation. Poorly dumping waste can lead to environmental degradation, destruction of the
ecosystem, and risks to the public health.

What Is The Corgers Of Marriott International And Starwood...
Hotel owners and Franchises:
Marriott International and Starwood Hotels and Resorts both have different unique selling points
enabling them to become large hotel companies. With the merger, both companies will combine their
unique qualities to encourage efficiency as well as new hotel developments. These improvements may
be able to increase profitability enabling owners to have increase in their revenue (Bethesda, 2016).
Due to the large increase in customer base and owning multiple properties all over the world,
competition certainly has reduced as a result. Thus, this may lead to monopolization of certain hotel
markets increasing profits for existing hotel owners and franchises (Butler, 2016). In addition, as both
companies already have their own wide company portfolio and brands, in the long term Marriott
International and Starwood Hotels and Resort can take advantage of the opportunity to explore variety
of brands within the expansion of their brand families. The exponential increase in their market power
and data access may lead to increase in their economies of scale, further increasing their profitability.
In addition, the increase market power means the companies will have stronger bargaining power
against OTAs, resulting in lower booking fees. Therefore, the reduction in their cost and increasing
their appearance on the OTAs being more exposed to potential customers which may further increase
their profitability as well as marketing power (Butler, 2016).

The As A Way Of Life
Urban areas have very unique social characteristics that have been identified and pondered for many
years. Why is it more socially acceptable to say hello to a complete stranger walking down the street
in Holland than it is in Manhattan? What makes people view the homeless differently in a small town
versus a large city? People have often wondered what makes cities so socially different than any other
area in society. Louis Wirth published his theories on ideas like this in his 1938 article Urbanism as a
Way of Life. Contrary to many other theologians, Wirth explains the scarcity of interpersonal relations
in urban areas through population density and specialization.
Wirth acknowledges that size cannot be the sole indicator for ... Show more content on

Bigger cities in a small area have more opportunity to hold different social groups in them because of
their bigger numbers in such a close proximity. For example, New York City is one of the largest cities
in the country. It is also known for housing many culturally diverse neighborhoods, such as Chinatown
and Little Italy . In comparison, Holland, a small town with a population less than one percent of that
of New York City, has significantly less identifiable diversity. One of the factors that contributes to
New York City s higher amount of diversity is its significantly larger population in such a small area.
More people in a region living on top of each other gives way for more opportunities for creating
visible diversity.
Almost forty years later, Claude Fischer contributes his thoughts on urban affect in his article Theories
of Urbanism. In this article, Fischer describes three major theories of urbanism that work to transform
our behaviors in society and the psychological effects on each individual. The first, he identifies the
deterministic theory, which claims that urbanism increases the appearance of social and personality
disorders more than those found in rural places. Going with Wirth s theory on the effect of increased
stimuli in the city on individuals, Fischer believed that city dwellers respond by withdrawing from any

Ashella had dutifully helped Brietta and Edana get into their dresses for that evening s festivities.
Many times throughout the process she had to force herself not to giggle as her stepsisters asked for
increasingly ridiculous elements to be added to their look. She had plucked their hairlines to give them
a more prominent forehead. This of course, had led to much whining and scolding from the two as
they believed she was hurting them on purpose. They had acted like babies, but Ashella certainly didn
t say that out load to them at the time. When it came to dressing them, she put them in high collared
gaudy dresses with low cut necklines and fur lining the trim. Jewels decorated the fabric of each,
revealing how they tried desperately to show off their wealth, despite their mother actually having
spent much of her parent s money years ago. On their orders, she had painted their faces pure white
with powder and had even been ordered to do so with their bust. It was quite an appalling process for
her to say the least. By the time she was done, her stepsisters looked horrible with their gaudy dresses
and hair styles that did nothing to soften the look of their pale faces and dark red lips. Their style
appalled Ashella, but then again, they adhered to the idea of beauty that said showing off wealth was
just as good as actually being beautiful. Needless to say she was happy when they made their way

The war on terror Essay
Ever since the beginning of the terrorist attacks on American soil, the War on Terror has been involved
in the lives of Americans and nations near us. The War on Terror s background originated through
conflicts between warring countries in the Middle East; U.S. involvement started when a terrorist
guided plane crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 in New York City. The
attack was suspected to be the work of the middle eastern terrorist group Al Qaeda. The U.S. military,
under the leadership of then commander in chief George W. Bush, declared a War on Terror on the

According to the UN only 9,759 civilians have died in Afghanistan, but the Lansing medical journal
reports that 654,965 civilian casualties occurred in Iraq from 2003 to 2006 so these reports should be
taken with a grain of salt. On the pro Saddam side of the war 76,778 Islamists fighters have died; these
deaths were made of security forces, private contractors, Sons of Iraq, and most were made up of other
supporters of the regime. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Armed Forces have
suffered 4,487 deaths and 32,223 were wounded in action as of May 2012.
As seen by these studies the people suffering are more so the families of the innocent civilians than
those who fought in the conflicts, and a lot of them were not killed by soldiers. As shown by sites like
WikiLeaks many civilian deaths are caused by mines or drones. These numbers show the amount of
devastation caused by the War on terror and more than ten years later these numbers are still rising.
Ultimately there are still over 50,000 troops in Afghanistan and there are still plans to remain there for
a while. Another consequence of the war is that in a combination of regarding the safety of the
homeland and getting an edge against possible threats, civil liberties have been violated and human
rights have been abused. After the 9/11 attack on Twin Towers and the Pentagon the U.S. government
has called for new forms of defense against possible attacks

Creating Systems Without Considering The Users
There have been many efforts to create systems without considering the users. Furnell (2007) found
that while the rules for password creation had been clearly established, websites were doing little to
educate users. Campbell et al. (2011) tested a system that did enforce proper password creation but
seemed perplexed why this did not reduce password reuse or the incorporation of personal information
into passwords. This highlights one obvious problem in password research as there is a hyper focus on
user ability to remember a singular password while ignoring that users need passwords for dozens of
applications (Grawemeyer Johnson, 2011).
Instead of treating users as a liability, system designers need to recognize users are ... Show more

When viewed in totality, these examples plainly show the previously noted maxim that users can be
expected to remember at most five distinct passwords used on a regular basis (Adams Sasse, 1999).
Understanding and accepting these human constraints and limitations is key to developing any robust
and secure password schema.
This does not imply a perfectly secure system can be designed. With enough time, any system can be
breached (Katz, Ostrovsky, Yung, 2009). Instead, a reasonably secure password schema needs to be
derived. It should keep users relatively safe while affording them the ability to manage passwords
without concern of forgetting them or recording them.
With those criteria for success in mind, there have been some efforts made to meet the needs of the
users. Duggan, Johnson, and Grawemeyer (2012) analyzed company needs and suggested password
requirements be customized to individual users. While their intentions are laudable, though, the
practicality of their suggestions can be questioned. Most corporations will not see the cost benefit of
investing numerous man hours in implementing such a wide ranging schema.
Likewise, Ganesan (2016) proposes a single sign on solution for companies with an Enterprise
architecture in place. While this might be good for large corporations, smaller companies may not

What is the Good Life Essay A popular saying is live life in the moment. People believe that by doing
this, they will live life to their fullest potential, and this will lead to the good life. This is a good
theory, but it is not actually a good idea to life live this way. This is shown by both Herodotus, The
History the story of Solon and Croesus, and by the Mike Webster Sports Injury series by Greg Garber.
In both of the texts, the fictional Croesus, and the real life Mike Webster both lived their lives in the
moment, and they actually provide the most significant horrible warnings to show what is not the good
life. By living in the moment, neither of these two actually thought about the future while they were
living their good lives. If they had thought about the future, and the repercussions that could happen if
their way of life was ended, then they may have been able to avoid the inevitable fall that both of them
faced. Webster and Croesus both lived the good life for a time, and through both of their stories, we
can see that to truly have lived the good life, one must die living it.
While both Webster and Croesus undergo very similar crucibles, there are a few distinct differences
between the texts that complement each other, so by understanding one of the texts more clearly, the
other can be better understood, which in turn, leads to a better understanding of the good life. One of

What Is The Purpose Of The Lottery
The Lottery , a short story by Shirley Jackson, features a small town during the highly anticipated
lottery. The lottery is an annual event, organized by Mr. Summers, the jovial man who runs the coal
business. It is a highly important time, as the whole town comes to the town square on the day of the
lottery. The guidelines are quite simple: everyone takes a slip of paper out of the symbolic black box,
and the slip of paper with the black mark carved on it, is the lucky winner . But the town s definition
of the lottery is different一usually, a lottery is a valuable thing to win. But when Tessie Hutchinson,
the lucky winner gets her reward by getting stoned to death by the rest of the villagers, it is clear that
winning this lottery can t be a good affair... so what is the purpose of this lottery? Rather than
discontinuing the lottery, the town continues with it because they don t want to upset an old tradition.
To begin with, the lottery is especially old. In support of this, on page 23, lines 280 282 it says :
Seventy seventh year I been in the lottery, Old Man Warner said as he went through the crowd.
Seventy seventh time . Old Man Warner is the oldest man in town. If he remembers participating in

Hunger Artist s name rather ironic. The hunger of the Hunger Artist is not for food. As described at the
end of the essay, the Hunger Artist states that he was in fact never hungry, he just never found
anything that he liked. So then, what does this man s hunger truly mean? What drives the Hunger
Artist to fast for so long, if he is truly not hungry? The Hunger Artist salivates not for the food which
he is teased with, nor does he even sneak food when he alone. The Hunger Artist has a ... Show more

Instead, he would show off for the guards that were supposed to watch him, to make sure he never ate
a single thing, ?He was quite prepared to spend the whole night entirely without sleep with such
watchmen; he was prepared to swap jokes with them, to tell them stories about his nomadic life and
listen to their stories in turn, anything just to keep them awake to be able to show them again and
again that he had nothing to eat in his cage, and that he was fasting like no one of them could fast.?
(Kafka, 256). The Hunger artist was addicted to fame, and made every attempt to show off his skill.
It seems ironic, however, that when his fans were near him, he would show no effort to interact with
the crowd. No stories, jokes, or anything of the like with which shared with the watchmen. Instead, he
seemed to take the fans for granted, almost treating the fans as if they were weak and unimportant, ?
occasionally even stretching his arm through the bars to let them feel how skinny he was, but then
again withdrawing completely to himself, paying attention to no one.? (Kafka, 256) The Hunger Artist
assumes that the crowd will always be there, witnessing and admiring his skills, constantly wondering,
?How does he do it?? So, as time goes on, the hunger artist becomes more and more expecting of his
crowd, hungering more and more for the fame and love that his fans seemed to give. Unfortunately,

The Ethics Of Eating Meat Essay
The Ethics of Eating Meat We are a nation of meat eaters. We are socialized from a young age to
consume high levels of animal products. This deeply ingrained meat eating tradition is a big part of
the American standard diet. A visit to the local grocery store shows that there is no shortage of animal
products. Isle by isle you see a plethora of meats, neatly packed and ready to be cooked, dairy
products neatly shelved, and even candies that contain animal by products. This is an omnivore s
utopia, allowing for a lifestyle that involves the overconsumption of meats and animal by products.
The rampant meat industry has managed to condition people to disassociate the meats in our grocery
markets and the animals from which they came. Most people have become unaware omnivores,
consuming whatever meats are available to them. This shift of moral degradation is evident in how we
process and consume our meats. We have become a selfish society that values our own convenience
and affordability of meat rather than the consideration of the animal. This begs the question, is eating
meat inherently wrong and should we forbid meat consumption under any and all circumstances? To
fully address this issue, we must first define the moral status of animals. So, are animals equal to
humans in worth and value and should they receive similar treatment? In our country, the scarcity of
food is not an issue of underdeveloped methods of agriculture, it is an issue of poverty. We have an
abundance of

The History of Mathematics Essay
What is the meaning of history? According to Merriam Webster s online dictionary, history is: past
events that relate to a particular subject, place, organization, etc (Merriam Webster, 2014). Math began
in 30000BC and is still changing now in 2014. During each year, something new has happened. From
30000BC to 127BC there were many things happening for the beginning of math. In 30000BC,
Palaeolithics in Europe and France recorded numbers on bones. Around 25000BC, there were signs of
early geometric designs being used. Egypt was using a decimal number system around 5000BC.
Babylonian and Egyptian calendars were being used starting in 4000BC. In 3400BC, the first symbols
for numbers by using straight lines were being used in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Around 150, Ptolemy made the geometrical results with applications in astronomy. In 263, Liu Hui
calculated the value of π by using a regular polygon with 192 sides. Around 500, Metrodorus
assembled the Greek Anthology that consisted of 46 mathematical problems. In 534, Japan is
introduced to the Chinese mathematics. In 594, the decimal notation is used for numbers in India.
Around 775, Alcuin of York wrote the elementary texts on arithmetic, geometry, and astronomy.
Around 1200, the Chinese started to use a symbol for zero. In 1248, Li Yeh wrote a book that had
negative numbers which were shown by putting a diagonal strike through the last digit. In 1336, math
became a subject for a degree at the University of Paris (A Mathematical Chronology, 2014). In 1482,
Campanus of Novara s Elements was the first math book to be printed. In 1489, Widman wrote an
arithmetic book in German that had the first appearances of the positive and negative signs. In 1572,
Bombelli published the first three parts of his algebra. He was the first to give the rules for calculating
with complex numbers. In 1595, Pitiscus became the first to employ the term trigonometry in a printed
publication. In 1668, Pell made a table to factors for all integers up to 100,000. In 1675, Leibniz used
the modern notation for an integral for the first time. In 1685, Kochanski gave an approximate method
to find the length of the circumference of a circle. In 1692, Leibniz introduced the term

Discuss the Beneficial Effects of Activated Protein C in...
Sepsis is a potentially fatal medical condition where the blood is overwhelmed by the presence of
bacteria; activating the immune response and potentially causing organ dysfunction due to the
disruption of homeostasis, tissue perfusion and limited oxygen supply. Systemic inflammatory
response syndrome can be a key to the recognition of the illness. This condition can be treated with
antibiotics intravenously or by draining the infected fluid. However, treating the infection with
appropriate anti microbial medication does not always cure the illness. Understanding the activation of
inflammation, coagulation and fibrinolysis in the pathophysiology of sepsis, has allowed further
research and development of therapeutic agents in its clinical ... Show more content on

It inhibits thrombosis by inactivating co factors Va, and VIIIa (Neyrinck, 2009). When deficient,
Factor V can cause excessive blood clotting and Factor VIII, being an essential clotting factor, can
cause blood to profusely move out of tissues once cut or damaged (Faust, 2001 and Yan, 2001).
Thrombin may become limited, one reason being the decrease of plasma D dimer, which again
stimulates fibrinolysis (Bernard, 2001).
Animal models have been used to test the effectiveness of Protein C as a treatment for severe sepsis;
one example is an experiment carried out to investigate the coagulation effects of Protein C which was
tested using baboons (Taylor FB, 1987). Studies of this type have initiated the development of
recombinant human protein C; the activated form also termed drotrecogin alfa (activated).
A variety of variables are considered throughout the research of many experiments in investigating
whether Protein C is a beneficial treatment of severe sepsis. Animal models, specifically sheep, were
used to observe the clinical significance of APC in the work of Wang.Z et al. The results indicate the
beneficial consequence of APC on gaseous exchange and lactic acidosis; a considerably higher arterial
pressure is observed, as well as, higher thoracopulmonary compliance and PaO2/FIO2

Ice Road Trucking Analysis
7 Why Lisa Kelly Got Into Ice Road Trucking
Believe it or not, one of Lisa Kelly s first jobs was delivering pizza as a teenager. She says it was this
job that made her realise that she didn t want a career that involved going into an office every day. She
wanted to be out and about. Delivering pizza, I could drive around town, she said, describing why she
felt attracted to the job. Then after a while she slowly realised that she wanted to drive a truck so she
signed on with a school bus company that paid for her training. She drove a school bus for a year but
says it was tough to be a professional driver and a babysit 40 kids at the same time. I couldn t wait til
my freight didn t scream anymore, she said. Well, she has certainly come a long way since then.
6 Why Lisa Kelly Had To Take A Break From Ice Road Truckers
In a show like Ice Road Truckers, filled with burly male characters it s nice to have a little female
representation. Lisa Kelly, one of the shows two female drivers, has managed to become one of IRT
biggest stars, driving up the ratings. You may have noticed that Lisa was absent from season six but do
you know why she needed to take a break from the show? Well Lisa says that she loves doing the
show but needed to take a break ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But how did he get this nickname? Did he get into a tousle with a polar bear at one stage during his
journeys perhaps? That would be quite a story but sadly that s not the case at all. It seems that back in
80 s a few of Hugh s friends saw the words branded on a truck and decided that it fit his personality
perfectly. He obviously didn t mind and the nickname stuck. According to Hugh he likes to think that
the name Polar Bear refers to his bear like stamina and attitude towards the dangerous ice roads and
the high number of loads he always manages to deliver. Whatever the reason we agree that this name
suits him down to the

A Humble Beginning . . . roctor Gamble was born in 1837 by the collaboration or William Proctor, a
candle maker and James Gamble, a soap maker. They started this partnership at the suggestion of their
common father in law Alexander Norris. After 175 years, P G is one of the consumer goods company
in the world. It features in the Fortune 500 list and recorded sales of $82.6 billion dollars in 2011.
The year 1837 was quite a difficult time to start any business. Although Cincinnati was a busy market

. . roctor Gamble is known to expand rapidly. The summary of the mergers acquisition by P G is given
in Table 1. As you can see, though P G is acquiring an average of 2 to 3 firms in the recent past, it is
divesting its stakes at a faster rate. This implies that P G wants to expand in areas of strength focus its
full concentration there and at the same time reduce its stake in all the ventures that it deems
unprofitable.
One of the major acquisitions by P G in the last 10 years was the acquisition of the German Hair
Company Wella AG for $6.27 billion. Wella AG was the market leader in hair care products, with
revenues exceeding $3.6 billion in 2002. Through this deal, P G entered the salon market. They also
entered the dental market in the same year by acquiring Glide, a dental floss brand from W.L. Gore
Associates, Inc. P G decided to exit the food market gradually. The first step was by selling its Sunny
Delight and Punica drinks in April 2004 to J.W. Childs Associates LP.
P G made a major foray into the pharmaceutical sector with the acquisition of the Spanish firm
Laboratorios Vita for € 150 million. It followed this with the acquisition of Asacol, another
pharmaceutical firm.
After Wella AG, P G made another major acquisition Gillette Co. This was in January 2005 and the
deal was for $57 billion, the largest acquisition made by P G till date. Through this deal, P G acquired
the brands Gillette, Braun, Right Guard and Duracell. P G acquired

Lapham Peak Essay
This past weekend I was able to visit a beautiful treasure hidden in the Kettle Moraine State Forest,
Lapham Peak. Lapham peak is conveniently only about twenty minutes from our school and packed
full of educational benefits. Between the topography, wildlife diversity, history, and culture preserved
at Lapham Peak, many cross curricular standards could be addressed in a short visit to Lapham Peak.
The first example of both historical, scientific and cultural resources would be the Hausmann Nature
Center. This small building included the history of the park, the history of Increase A. Lapham (a
naturalist and the park s namesake), a history of Native American s presence in this area and proof of a
variety of wildlife that make their home ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secluded in a fenced off floral area, the butterflies can live peacefully, with only a few interruptions
from visiting park guests viewing them from afar. This small gem inside of Lapham peak shows a
wonderful example of wildlife diversity. Another part of the park that has a great cultural benefit is the
Summer Stage. Here the park hosts plays, acting camps and more. In this beautiful outdoor theater,
guests can come a relax and enjoy a bit of popular culture while still enjoying the great outdoors. On
top of all of these great features, there are many amazing trails to follow throughout the park. I took a
great hike through the Ice Age Trail, the Kettle View Trail, and the Kame Terrace Trail. I really
enjoyed my peaceful walk through creation and also appreciated how well labeled the trails were in
comparison with the provided map at my entry to the park. The favorite aspect of the park, however,
would have to be the observation tower. With an elevation of 1233 feet on top of Lapham Peak, the
observation tower offers a breathtaking few of southeastern Wisconsin and apparently even parts of
Illinois. This view is amazing and really showcases God s glorious hand in the world that we live

Why Are Veterans Important To Society
Throughout US history, many wars and battles were fought that marked America. Fighting within
those wars were brave soldiers, which to this day, we know as veterans. Veterans are important to our
nation s history and future, as they have contributed to make America the great and prosperous nation
that it is today. Veterans, along with other respected groups of people, deserve the nation s uttermost
respect for all the contributions they have made to this country known as America. Not many people
would withstand having to go off to war knowing their life was on the line. There is much respect and
gratitude inclined towards those who did and sacrificed everything they had. Our cordially veterans
the ones who fought and endured the bestial wars, the ones who knew they could fall at any moment,
the ones who, despite the horror and fear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One often misinterprets the true meaning of war, believing it is only a dispute that is ended through
fighting. In fact, war is more than just fighting. It is a battle where many brave souls lose their lives
for protecting the country they love. Many of the rights we have today would not have been possible
without the sacrifice of many brave American soldiers. Instead of living in a tranquil and prosperous
nation, we could be living in a nation that resembles countries such as Africa, living under poor
conditions and extreme poverty. It is imperative to take into consideration that the veterans we have
today have made an impact on our nation and we owe much of our respect to them. Not many people
have the courage to take on the heavy and overwhelming duty of going to war, knowing that death is
imminent. Along with that, many of them have experienced traumatizing moments that have scarred
them for life. Because of this, there is much appreciation and respect inclined towards

  • 5. The Tempest Imperialism The play, The Tempest by William Shakespeare, follows the journey of the magical Prospero and his search for revenge on those who had victimized him. Stranded on an island for twelve years with his daughter Miranda and servants Caliban and Ariel, Prospero shipwrecks the men who put him there by conjuring up a terrible and violent storm from which the play gets its name. Prospero watches over the shipwrecked group who were responsible for betraying him, including his brother Antonio, who stole his position of Duke of Milan. The Tempest, written between 1610 and 1611 in the midst of European expansion and colonization of the Americas, is symbolic of the negative repercussions associated with imperialism. William Shakespeare s The Tempest draws an allusion to the age of exploration and critiques the effects of colonial expansion through the main characters, including Prospero and Caliban. The sole purpose of an advertisement is to not only inform their target audience, but to make their audience carry out an action. These actions can range from buying a specific product, eating healthier, or helping those in need. The advertisements i ve chosen are print ads. Both ads share the same purpose; the prevention of animal and domestic abuse. These two images focus on the rhetorical device pathos; the term pathos is defined as emotion. Though, different, the two images are highly effective in sending their message: report animal and domestic abuse. As humans, we are not able to control the emotions that we feel and at what extent we feel them. Meanwhile, we are able to control our actions. There are two main points that really stood out to me. First was impression management, more specifically, the (mis)alignment of expressions given and expressions given off. Firstly, the female choice co evolved with trait exaggeration, otherwise called Fisher s process. At phase one, the female preferences evolve because the trait that they prefer is favored by natural selection and as a result, their offspring are more likely to have the beneficial trait. When there is a distinct difference in a species, which is linked with the selective advantage, the females tend to choose the males that clearly distinguish the difference that is to be observed and they will prefer the most advantageous type. Why is it more socially acceptable to say hello to a complete stranger walking down the street in Holland than it is in Manhattan? Bigger cities in a small area have more opportunity to hold different social groups in them because of their bigger numbers in such a close proximity. For example, New York City is one of the largest cities in the country. It is also known for housing many culturally diverse neighborhoods, such as Chinatown and Little Italy . In comparison, Holland, a small town with a population less than one percent of that of New York City, has significantly less identifiable diversity. One of the factors that contributes to New York City s higher amount of diversity is its significantly larger population in such a small area. More people in a region living on top of each other gives way for more opportunities for creating visible diversity. Almost forty years later, Claude Fischer contributes his thoughts on urban affect in his article Theories of Urbanism. In this article, Fischer describes three major theories of urbanism that work to transform our behaviors in society and the psychological effects on each individual. The first, he identifies the deterministic theory, which claims that urbanism increases the appearance of social and personality disorders more than those found in rural places. Furnell (2007) found that while the rules for password creation had been clearly established, websites were doing little to educate users. Campbell et al. (2011) tested a system that did enforce proper password creation but seemed perplexed why this did not reduce password reuse or the incorporation of personal information into passwords. When viewed in totality, these examples plainly show the previously noted maxim that users can be expected to remember at most five distinct passwords used on a regular basis (Adams Sasse, 1999). Understanding and accepting these human constraints and limitations is key to developing any robust and secure password schema. This does not imply a perfectly secure system can be designed. With enough time, any system can be breached (Katz, Ostrovsky, Yung, 2009). Instead, a reasonably secure password schema needs to be derived. It should keep users relatively safe while affording them the ability to manage passwords without concern of forgetting them or recording them. With those criteria for success in mind, there have been some efforts made to meet the needs of the users. Duggan, Johnson, and Grawemeyer (2012) analyzed company needs and suggested password requirements be customized to individual users. People believe that by doing this, they will live life to their fullest potential, and this will lead to the good life. This is a good theory, but it is not actually a good idea to life live this way. This is shown by both Herodotus, The History the story of Solon and Croesus, and by the Mike Webster Sports Injury series by Greg Garber. In both of the texts, the fictional Croesus, and the real life Mike Webster both lived their lives in the moment, and they actually provide the most significant horrible warnings to show what is not the good life. By living in the moment, neither of these two actually thought about the future while they were living their good lives. If they had thought about the future, and the repercussions that could happen if their way of life was ended, then they may have been able to avoid the inevitable fall that both of them faced. Webster and Croesus both lived the good life for a time, and through both of their stories, we can see that to truly have lived the good life, one must die living it. This deeply ingrained meat eating tradition is a big part of the American standard diet. A visit to the local grocery store shows that there is no shortage of animal products. Isle by isle you see a plethora of meats, neatly packed and ready to be cooked, dairy products neatly shelved, and even candies that contain animal by products. This is an omnivore s utopia, allowing for a lifestyle that involves the overconsumption of meats and animal by products. The rampant meat industry has managed to condition people to disassociate the meats in our grocery markets and the animals from which they came. Most people have become unaware omnivores, consuming whatever meats are available to them. This shift of moral degradation is evident in how we process and consume our meats. We have become a selfish society that values our own convenience and affordability of meat rather than the consideration of the animal. This begs the question, is eating meat inherently wrong and should we forbid meat consumption under any and all circumstances? Around 500, Metrodorus assembled the Greek Anthology that consisted of 46 mathematical problems. In 534, Japan is introduced to the Chinese mathematics. In 594, the decimal notation is used for numbers in India. Around 775, Alcuin of York wrote the elementary texts on arithmetic, geometry, and astronomy. Around 1200, the Chinese started to use a symbol for zero. In 1248, Li Yeh wrote a book that had negative numbers which were shown by putting a diagonal strike through the last digit. In 1336, math became a subject for a degree at the University of Paris (A Mathematical Chronology, 2014). In 1482, Campanus of Novara s Elements was the first math book to be printed. • 44. Discuss the Beneficial Effects of Activated Protein C in... Sepsis is a potentially fatal medical condition where the blood is overwhelmed by the presence of bacteria; activating the immune response and potentially causing organ dysfunction due to the disruption of homeostasis, tissue perfusion and limited oxygen supply. Systemic inflammatory response syndrome can be a key to the recognition of the illness. This condition can be treated with antibiotics intravenously or by draining the infected fluid. However, treating the infection with appropriate anti microbial medication does not always cure the illness. Understanding the activation of inflammation, coagulation and fibrinolysis in the pathophysiology of sepsis, has allowed further research and development of therapeutic agents in its clinical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It inhibits thrombosis by inactivating co factors Va, and VIIIa (Neyrinck, 2009). When deficient, Factor V can cause excessive blood clotting and Factor VIII, being an essential clotting factor, can cause blood to profusely move out of tissues once cut or damaged (Faust, 2001 and Yan, 2001). Thrombin may become limited, one reason being the decrease of plasma D dimer, which again stimulates fibrinolysis (Bernard, 2001). Animal models have been used to test the effectiveness of Protein C as a treatment for severe sepsis; one example is an experiment carried out to investigate the coagulation effects of Protein C which was tested using baboons (Taylor FB, 1987). Studies of this type have initiated the development of recombinant human protein C; the activated form also termed drotrecogin alfa (activated). A variety of variables are considered throughout the research of many experiments in investigating whether Protein C is a beneficial treatment of severe sepsis. Animal models, specifically sheep, were used to observe the clinical significance of APC in the work of Wang.Z et al. The results indicate the beneficial consequence of APC on gaseous exchange and lactic acidosis; a considerably higher arterial pressure is observed, as well as, higher thoracopulmonary compliance and PaO2/FIO2 ... That would be quite a story but sadly that s not the case at all. It seems that back in 80 s a few of Hugh s friends saw the words branded on a truck and decided that it fit his personality perfectly. He obviously didn t mind and the nickname stuck. According to Hugh he likes to think that the name Polar Bear refers to his bear like stamina and attitude towards the dangerous ice roads and the high number of loads he always manages to deliver. As you can see, though P G is acquiring an average of 2 to 3 firms in the recent past, it is divesting its stakes at a faster rate. • 47. Lapham Peak Essay This past weekend I was able to visit a beautiful treasure hidden in the Kettle Moraine State Forest, Lapham Peak. Lapham peak is conveniently only about twenty minutes from our school and packed full of educational benefits. Between the topography, wildlife diversity, history, and culture preserved at Lapham Peak, many cross curricular standards could be addressed in a short visit to Lapham Peak. The first example of both historical, scientific and cultural resources would be the Hausmann Nature Center. This small building included the history of the park, the history of Increase A. Lapham (a naturalist and the park s namesake), a history of Native American s presence in this area and proof of a variety of wildlife that make their home ... This small gem inside of Lapham peak shows a wonderful example of wildlife diversity. Another part of the park that has a great cultural benefit is the Summer Stage. Here the park hosts plays, acting camps and more. In this beautiful outdoor theater, guests can come a relax and enjoy a bit of popular culture while still enjoying the great outdoors. On top of all of these great features, there are many amazing trails to follow throughout the park. I took a great hike through the Ice Age Trail, the Kettle View Trail, and the Kame Terrace Trail. I really enjoyed my peaceful walk through creation and also appreciated how well labeled the trails were in comparison with the provided map at my entry to the park. The favorite aspect of the park, however, would have to be the observation tower. With an elevation of 1233 feet on top of Lapham Peak, the observation tower offers a breathtaking few of southeastern Wisconsin and apparently even parts of Illinois. This view is amazing and really showcases God s glorious hand in the world that we live ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a battle where many brave souls lose their lives for protecting the country they love. Many of the rights we have today would not have been possible without the sacrifice of many brave American soldiers. Instead of living in a tranquil and prosperous nation, we could be living in a nation that resembles countries such as Africa, living under poor conditions and extreme poverty. It is imperative to take into consideration that the veterans we have today have made an impact on our nation and we owe much of our respect to them.
