Ceo Duality Causes Conflict Of Interest As Management
served as board chairs, as CEO duality causes conflict of interest as management may override
controls (p.4221). Likewise, the research by Giroux (2008) on Enron accounting scandal revealed
motivations involves key executive s greed, weaknesses and lack of ethics on the accounting standard,
energy deregulation, auditors independence, law firms and investment bankers lack of independence,
neglected board of directors, lack of regulatory control and oversight, as well as political and

The research by Weld et al. (2004) claimed that the analyst and the market pressure to meet revenue

The Theories Of Risk Communications
Theories of Risk Communications: Part 2 This is a review of Sellnow Seeger (2013) chapters five, six,
and seven of the course reading utilizing outside materials to provide support. The paper will address
chaos theory and coordination theory, their use and their role in emergency communication.
Community resilience will be reviewed and its importance examined. News framing theory s role in
crisis communication will be evaluated and uses and gratifications theory will be explained. The
review will explore other crisis theories and describe their strengths and weaknesses.
Chaos Theory Chaos Theory (CT) is a way to evaluate and enhance other theoretical systems. CT
explains that the more complex the system is, the increased number of variables and points of failure it
will have. It also demonstrates that systems in general are self healing . Individuals involved within
the system will not panic as characterized by popular belief, but rather will self organize.
Contemporary approaches recognize that emergent, self organizing groups exist as natural responses
to crisis (Sellnow Seeger, 2013, p.107). Communication can either assist or hinder the creation of
these groups. CT states that changes or breakdown in communication can influence the behavior and
effectiveness of a crisis response system (Sellnow Seeger, 2013). CT also challenges the wisdom
behind providing detailed and precise communication, favoring a more generalized approach to
promote the

Pierre Bourdieu And Coleman Essay
Pierre Bourdieu and James Coleman are the two sociologist who studied social capital. It was
Bourdieu who is credited with developing the term in sociology, and Coleman who introduced it for
widespread use. Bourdieu classified his theory into fields of theory, which are capital and how they
relate to class reproduction. For Pierre the relationship between social and economic capital was the
key, while Coleman thought that ties to the community is what made social capital happen. While both
felt that social capital went hand in hand with social structure, they theorized it in different manners.
Bourdieu and Coleman emphasized other forms of social capital as it deals with the intangible aspects
of social capital. Economic capital can be found in peoples bank accounts, whilst human capital
resides in peoples heads. Social capital, however, inheres in the structure of their relationships. Thus to
possess social capital, a person must be related to others and it is those others, not himself, who are the
actual source of advantage (Portes, 1998). In order to understand Bourdieu and Coleman, I will first
compare and contrast the definition of social capital, by each theorist. ... Show more content on

Coleman defines social capital to refer to features of social structure that facilitate action. Among
these are systems of trust and obligations, networks disseminating information, norms accompanied
by sanctioning systems, centralized authority structures arising through transfers of control, and
appropriable social organization that may be used for purposes distinct from those that led to
establishing it (Marsden, 2005). Bourdieu has a different definition of social capital, the aggregate of
the actual or potential resources which are linked to possession of a durable network of more or less
institutionalized relationships of mutual acquaintance or recognition. (Bourdieu,

Traditional Vs. Online Education
Compare and Contrast Traditional vs. Online As this world s technology is progressing so is the way
we teach and learn. Ever since school started hundreds of years ago it s always been a teacher in a live
classroom with many students. Everything is shifting, however; and now we have transitioned into
online classes as well. I have had both, and I can tell you there are many comparisons and contrasts
between the two. 77% of educators believe that online learning is just as good as traditional learning,
if not better, nearly 70% of all students claim online instruction to be as good as or better than a
traditional classroom setting, and 26% of online students claim to learn better online than in a
classroom. So clearly people aren t too against this new form of learning. Online enrollment rates are
expanding at much faster rates than traditional classroom enrollment growth; specifically, in higher
education, online enrollments have grown 21%, whereas growth for traditional classroom instruction
registers only 2% since 2002. Traditional and Online classes have a lot of similarities and differences
especially in areas like flexibility, comprehension of the course material, and discipline. Traditional is
what I had my entire life up until I entered high school. It is what I prefer out of both choices. I learn
from one on one interaction, and that is something that online doesn t have. In traditional there is not
very much flexibility because of several reasons. Classes are

Renewable Energy Through Feed On Tariffs And Taxes
Introduction
In recent years, more has been debated on whether or not nonrenewable energy such as fossil fuel has
caused global warming. Sakamoto and Managi (2016) believe fossil fuel is the likely reason that
temperatures have been rising from greenhouse gases, increasing the CO2 emissions (p. 1). With
depleting resources, it may be a good idea to look more seriously at renewable energy (Sakamoto
Managi, 2016, p. 16). More governments have been trying to create policies to encourage usage of
renewable energy. However, it has been debated what is the best way to enforce renewable energy. In
this paper, I will discuss two ways countries have been encouraging renewable energy through feed in
tariffs and taxes.

14). An increase in marginal cost of nonrenewable resources will drive more consumers to renewable
resources.
On the other hand, a tax on nonrenewable energy does not have the same effect. Sakamoto and
Managi (2016) discovered:
The introduction of the tax on the nonrenewable energy sector leads to the reduction of nonrenewable
energy use and an acceleration of renewable energy use, but the acceleration is not enough to keep the
pre tax level of production... because the marginal cost of renewable energy is high as renewable
energy use increases (p. 15).
A tax on nonrenewable energy leads to an increase in marginal cost of renewable energy. Less
consumers were interested in buying when prices on renewable energy rose.
Another way governments have been trying to implement renewable energy is through feed in tariffs.
Feed in tariffs usually consist of some type of purchase obligation and also a tariff payment on
renewable energy that is fixed for every unit of electricity (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43). The grid operator
involved in the purchase obligation must buy the renewable electricity no matter what (Jacobs, 2012,
p. 43). The producer has the right to a certain amount of money for every unit of electricity that they
produce (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43).
Jacobs (2012) conducted studies in Europe in the countries of Germany, Spain, and France that use

Suspense In The Movie Jaws
In April of 1975, Saigon, the South Vietnamese capital, fell. This triggered the end of the Vietnam
War, the only real defeat in American military history. Two months later, the movie Jaws was released,
and it was a smash hit, the first real blockbuster in the history of American cinema. The success of the
film is of course related to the fact that it was based on a popular book, built suspense like few if any
previous films had done, and of course was marketed and released on an unprecedented scale that led
to a new trend among films. However, there are reasons that this film was so successful in its time. In
the wake of seeing the United States fail to stop the Communist beast it had been fighting for over
twenty years, Americans were looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If this concept is carried out to its fruition, it would imply that in the context of history, the
government was trying to ignore a real threat to carry on the normal way of life and sustain a sense of
peace. In reality, the war is generally perceived as being the opposite: the government was imagining
the threat of Communism starting its spread in Vietnam and in the process taking over the world, and
in the process it must be stopped by military force, which means thousands of our own people would
die. The fact that the mayor denies the existence of the shark for so much of the film that makes the
connection to the Vietnam War hard to make. However, even though it doesn t strictly fit with the
allegory, thematically, the film still takes many cues from what happened in the conflict in

Valley Forge Life
You wake up cold and slowly rise from your bare cot, shivering. You dress in you re only spare
clothing, and peel back the ripped canvas tent door. As your bare feet step onto the snowy grass, a
shiver runs down your spine. You are given a piece of bread, while you long for turkey and potatoes.
You see many bodies being carried out of the makeshift hospitals, as you dread that you might be next.
This is how a day in the life of the Revolutionary War soldiers went through while the army was in
Valley Forge. Would you like to live in these conditions? The Revolutionary War was already at a
disadvantage before they even stepped foot onto the area of Valley Forge. You could say that was
because the soldiers had bad circumstances. They just lost two battles before, Brandywine and
Germantown, so their spirits were low. Most enlisted were from ages 11 to 16, while others were 50 to
60 years old (Hobart). Many of them were volunteers, so they were untrained and undisciplined.
George Washington was under stress because of the soldiers and because Congress wasn t ... Show

In the most suitable cases, the soldiers had cabins, which were crude, small, and very unsturdy. In
most instances, however, they got tents made out of canvas, which frequently ripped and did not help
keep out cold in the dead winter. Because of this, many men got illnesses such as pneumonia, diarrhea,
and dysentery. In fact, so many got sick that the hospitals were overflowing, even though each section
had a hospital for itself. Some soldiers wives agreed to be nurses to help, but there were not enough
medical supplies, so many died. Out of 12,000 men, 3,000 died and 2,000 left because they were sick.
To conclude, Revolutionary War Soldiers suffered a big deal while at Valley Forge. It helped the
soldiers, however, to be better disciplined and tougher, which later helped them to win the war. Yes,
few stayed, but the ones who did were well trained and came out as

The Uk And Its Economy
1. Introduction
On 23rd June 2016, there will be an important referendum for the UK and its economy to resolve
whether the UK leaves the EU or not. The decision that will be made by the British citizens will effect
on a lot of sectors in many ways. However, it is expected that especially sports industry which has
been globally developing nowadays will be the most influenced on by that decision. The purpose of
the report is to identify what are the advantages and disadvantages for sport related organisations
caused by the case of the UK leaving the EU. In this report, it will be focusing on Manchester City
Football Club, and discussing what are the main merits and demerits for one of the most globally
oriented football clubs as a result of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this, Manchester City cannot spend as much money on signing foreign talent as these
players will face difficulty to work in the UK, meaning the club can instead invest the money that they
would have spent on players in their youth academy. Home grown players could benefit from a Brexit
(Slater 2016). Appendix 1 shows that Manchester City is in the bottom 4 of the Premier League for a
number of British players used by the club, so to switch from buying players abroad to investing into
the youth academy means that it is a positive for Manchester City as it will make it a more traditional
British club. What this does for Manchester City is inherit the squad to become more of a Manchester
like club as they can focus on bringing up home grown players from their youth academy meaning
there will be an increase in the amount of British players in the club as at the moment there are only 4
British players within the 24 men first team of Manchester City. What this also does for Manchester
City is help the economic situation they face themselves with as for example a player who recently has
been promoted from the youth academy into the first team is Kelechi Iheanacho is on a weekly salary
of £2,236 however a player such as Yaya Toure has a weekly salary worth £220,000. (in text citations

Supplier power. Deere managed to keep its other competitors from driving up the price because of
suppliers pricing by building its own supply channels. In each of its six identified key regions Deere

Competitive rivalry. It appears that Deere rivals pose no threat. There are more than 1000 business that

the pond. Deere band and customers focus has proven to be a strategy that has kept them above all
others. Product quality, innovation, customer service, branding, and performance were essential areas
rivals competed on. Generally, price competition between the three rivals was low; as a result,
competition centered on overall value instead of price. Deere aim at feeding the world has pushed
them to seek what farmers need and make the equipment tailor to those needs. Threat of substitution.
Deere aftermarket products along with its unique band color and logo makes its products special.
Deere Company s farming equipment product lines were aimed at supporting the farming of every
owner of Deere equipment and compelling the thought of should ve got a John Deere among those
who farmed with rival equipment. Threat of new entry. Competitor barriers to entry into the industry
ranged from low to medium; however, with such fierce competition among the top three, entrants
were surely challenged. 2. How have Deere s business strategic choices strengthened or weakened its
competitive position in the agricultural and construction equipment industry? Deere strategically

According to Howard Zinn it was for the Gold. Zinn claims that it was money and power that were
driving forces behind Columbus. He tells us that Spain promised him a 10% cut of all the gold found,
governorship of any new found lands, and the new title of Admiral.[2] Gold and the regulation thereof
are the primary focuses of Columbus letter to the King and Queen of Spain, thought to have been
written around the year 1492, but definitely written after the his initial discovery.[3] So whether
wholly or in part it appears that riches and power were factors contributing to Columbus decision to
risk so much. After all he made multiple trips across the Atlantic not just one. So apparently he was
concerned with more than just the discovery of a trade route. Columbus discovery was made possible
by the Spanish Crown therefore all new found lands were claimed in the name of Spain and a Spanish
flag planted on the soil thereof in testament to this fact. Spain was still a catholic nation at this time
and the Spanish monarchy still acknowledged the Pope as the dominant spiritual authority on the
Earth. However it would not be long after Columbus discovery that all of Europe would be shaken to
its very foundation and set ablaze in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. This revolution in
spiritual thought was the result of a simple

sensitive is maybe if one had an illness that almost cost them their life or an injury or an accident or
the death of a loved one due to illness. I do feel that this data should be shared differently. I feel like
this type of data should have its own set of opt in and opt out system because this is data that could be
very sensitive to a patient and should be treated with care. Although this data can be helpful in
diagnosing problems or treatments, I feel that they should not be talked about casually if they are
talked about, they should be spoken of with just the doctor and the patient and whomever else the
patient wishes to hear the sensitive data and that is it. As long as this data is handled with care and not
taken lightly, it will not be a problem. The relationship between standards is that they are rules or

Comparing The Attitude Of Satan And Jesus In Paradise Lost
Many examples exist that contrast the attitudes of Satan and Jesus. Paradise Lost is one such example
that displays the negative attitudes of pride, hate, and rebellion that Satan has. On the contrary, the
Bible is an excellent source that shows Jesus attitudes of humility, love, and submission.
Firstly, Satan had an attitude of pride in Paradise Lost. One example of his pride was when he said he
desired, being the contrary of His high will. This shows his pride because Satan just wants to
contradict God. Another example of pride was when Satan said, to be weak is miserable, implying that
serving God, the Creator of all things, was a sign of weakness. A final example of Satan s pride was he
said it was, better to reign in hell then serve in Heaven. This also shows that Satan viewed serving
God as undesirable. However, the Bible shows Jesus has the quality of humility. This is shown in
Luke 4:24, when it said, Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his home town. This shows
humility because Jesus could have demanded the respect he deserves, but he did not. Instead he
allowed himself to be shut out and rejected. Another example of Jesus humility came from Matthew
20:28a, even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve. This clearly shows humility because
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior came to serve. Similarly, John 13:5a says, Then he poured water into
a basin and began to wash his disciples feet, again showing servanthood instead of Lordship.
Secondly, Satan had the attitude of hatred. This is shown when he said, farthest from Him is best. This
displays that Satan does not want to be anywhere God is which is why God created hell, as a place
where Satan can dwell without God s presence. Another time hatred was shown was when Satan said,
ever to do ill our sole delight. This paints a picture that Satan hates people so much that the only way
he is happy was when people suffer. Although Satan hates everyone, Jesus is full of love for people.
This is shown in John 14:2b, which says, In my Father s house are many rooms. If it were not so,
would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? This shows Jesus love because he has gone
to Heaven to prepare a place for

A Very Brief Look at the New Testament
The New Testament is an anthology of twenty seven ancient writings that describe the life of Jesus
Christ and the beginning of the Christian Church. This anthology was not written by just one person,
but rather, has several authors, most of whom are known and some of whom are not distinctly known.
All of these writings are believed to have been written in the first and second centuries AD from
roughly 50AD to 125AD(class notes). The New Testament was mainly written in Greek with some
small bits of Aramaic (class notes), but has since been translated into various other languages. This
group of writings has been used as both a theological and historical document, while there are no clear
lines distinguishing the two. It becomes apparent in studying the New Testament that it is a group of
texts discussing Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the origin and spread of Christianity while
including a heavy influence of the societies of the authors.
The New Testament comes from at least eight different authors who lived during and after the life of
Jesus. Each of the writings, while dealing with Jesus, his teachings or the spread of Christianity, has a
historical undertone. There are clear bits of historical context throughout the anthology that allow the
books to be dated and provide insight to the world of the authors. When the prophetic destruction of
the temple in Jerusalem is being discussed in the gospels, it is clear that the authors are discussing the
threat of the

The Nature Of Religion In Robinson Crusoe
Robinson Crusoe is much more than a novel that focuses on the religion of its fictional character
Crusoe, it s a philosophical investigation into the nature of religion. By looking through the
philosophical works that preceded Daniel Defoe s novel we can see how it ponders the questions of its
time and presents a metaphor of the development of morality, economics and religion. Both, the ideas
presented by Thomas Hobbs and Bernard Mandeville s An Enquiry into the Origin of Moral Virtue
will serve us well in understanding where Defoe is coming from and how he is actually developing
upon theses philosophies. Defoe boldly takes the ideas of his time and applies them to religion in a
way that perhaps his contemporaries were afraid to. He posits that religion is an economic
construction developed to help us cope with our condition. In many ways Defoe s novel asks questions
that were far ahead of their time. To begin this investigation, we must look to the text to find evidence
that more is going on here than simple faith.
The biggest problem with Crusoe s faith is that it s generally not present during his day to day life. He
only prays when he needs something or is terribly fearful of death, then after he overcomes his trial he
practically forgets the Lord all together. The first chapter of the book has Crusoe praying for salvation
from a nautical storm, he sees his survival as a sign to never go back out to sea again. Yet, in the same
chapter he blows off his recent religions resolution claiming to be but a young sailor, and had never
known anything of the matter (52). Crusoe s religious fickleness carries on throughout the novel but
each act of coming back to God in fear can also be seen as an act of repentance. This repentance doesn
t distract from the novel as a religious allegory, but it does reveal the selfish nature of man. At its core
Robinson Crusoe is a novel about our origins and base desires. As many have suggested, by placing a
man alone on a deserted island Defoe recreates the savage man in his state of nature that both Hobbes
and Locke were so concerned with philosophizing over before Defoe wrote his novel.
Philosophers of the late 17th and early 18th century were questioning the nature of

Political Economy Of America
INTRODUCTION
The political economy of the United States of America is at a crossroads. Mired in legislative gridlock
due to the polarization of political parties, struggling to fully recover from the global recession
brought on by the collapse of the financial industry, and lagging in comparison to some of our peers in
respect to education standards and social welfare policies, many have begun to predict the decline of
America and have declared the model of classical liberal capitalism defunct.
In previous centuries, our loosely structured economic system, based upon the principles derived from
free market capitalism and individual civil liberties, provided the American economy the flexibility to

Marburg Hemorrhagic Fever
Marburg hemorrhagic fever (Marburg HF) is a rare, critical pyrexia which affects both non human and
human primates. Marburg HF results from the Marburg virus, a distinct animal borne RNA virus apart
of the filovirus virus. The only other known member of the filovirus family is Ebola. The virus was
first identified in 1976 when there was an outbreak of the hemorrhagic fever in the labs of Marburg,
Frankfurt, Germany, and Belgrade, Serbia (WHO). Throughout the lab, thirty one became infected,
beginning with the laboratory workers, then followed by other medical personnel and family members
who tried to take care of them. Out of the thirty one people who were ill, seven deaths were reported
(CDC).
The first people who were infected had been exposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chills and fever result from the body attempting to fight off the virus by raising the body temperature
and killing the virus (Stöppler). The virus also attacks the organism, in which body aches, headaches,
and weakness are all signs of the immune system fighting the virus. Overtime the symptoms worsen
with vomiting, chest pains, coughing, sore throat, and stomach pain for the same reasons as the
weakened immune system. Due to organ failure and hemorrhaging that occur five days after the fever,
there is often bleeding from eyes, ears and nose (Huizen). Symptoms can also become increasingly
severe and may include pancreas inflammation, severe weight loss, shock, delirium, liver failure, and
multi organ dysfunction. People infected appear as though they are ghost like as they have set,
motionless faces and deep set eyes (WHO). Marburg virus has been found in African monkeys,
chimps and other nonhuman primates. The virus is transmitted to humans through an infected animal s
bodily fluids, by blood and waste products. By blood, people can catch the virus by handling infected
animals, and also by those who have operated on an infected animal and got the disease from them.
Through waste products, people can be contaminated by visiting places that have been infected with
organisms that carry the Marburg virus. In addition, just like what had happened in the first fever
outbreak with the few

The Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh Of Iran Essay
In mid 1953, democratic leader Mohammad Mossadegh of Iran was overthrown in favor of electing
General Fazlollah Zahedi the new Iranian Prime Minister. This was caused by a coup led by the
British Secret Intelligence Service and the US Central Intelligence Agency, though plans for the coup
began in Britain about 2 years before the US became involved. Britain, since the early 18th century,
had been very involved in Iranian economic affairs, due to Iranian leader Nasir al Din Shah selling
large chunks of Iranian industry to foreign investors in order to fund his well known over exuberance.
Of his foreign investors, Britain bought into Iran heavily, purchasing rights to run a telegraph through
Iran to India, exclusive rights to tobacco in Iran, and exclusive rights to industry, farmland, resources,
roads, banks, and currency in Iran, though the latter would later be revoked (31). This decision to
subsequently, over time, led to control over the nation s most valuable assets to be given to foreigners,
rather than the Iranian people (32). After Nasir al Din Shah s death in 1901, his son Muzzaffar sold the
rights to Iranian oil to Britain for 60 years. This decision led to Iranian riots because this would take
oil out of Iranian control and Iranian economy would suffer as a result. To combat this, in 1906, Iran
formed an Iranian parliament, known as the Majlis, to defend the Iranian people and keep Iran out of
poverty. Feeling threatened, Britain stepped in and integrated

Dinosaur Decay
Dinosaurs roamed the earth many million years ago while roaming parts of Maryland for many of
their history here on earth. There were many species that were predominantly found in this location.
Around twelve species of dinosaur like animals can be traced back to these parts of Maryland.
Dinosaurs wandered in this area from Late Triassic to Late Cretaceous periods. Maryland had a
distinct climate changes during these periods. Once it was tropical and had volcanoes and changed to
warm and shallow temperatures. Because of these temperatures we were able to find preservations of
these few dinosaur fossils. These fossils resisted decaying and were found in low lying areas and were
buried in alluvial sediments. If they were not destroyed by other

Headhunting Research Paper
On my honor, I pledge that I have neither given nor received help on this assignment.
The practice of cutting off and preserving the head or skull of another is known as headhunting. The
concept of headhunting is without a doubt seen as monstrous to the modern society, though it was
completely normal to many cultures in the past. Many cultures believed that the head either
represented the core of the personality or that a person s soul was concentrated in their head. Due to
the belief that the soul was concentrated in the head, headhunting was seen as a wonderful tactic
against enemies. Sometimes, claiming a head was a requirement before someone was allowed to get
married.
Cannibalism is the ingestion of human flesh by humans. To

Common Types Of Mentoring
The business world is about power or who you know that has power. These associations can prove to
be useful when it is time to enter the job market. When networking keep in mind that it is important to
be surrounded with people who are encouraging and supportive (Blackett, 2011, p. 77). There are
several ways an individual can get themselves readily available for their ultimate career. One of the
most common types of networking comes in the form of a mentor (Blackett, 2011, p. 78). A mentor
can help guide a person in a positive direction towards their goals. Have you ever heard the old saying
you are what you eat ? Surprisingly, this is true. It also applies to the thoughts that consume our time.
We are what we think about (Blackett,

Today s Chords
Hi Peeps,
Today s Quote
God activates changes to help us mark movement in time and motion in His Language of Love,
Creation, and Life; so that you may know God s Love Chords. ~ Jon Barnes
Chords
Changes are fundamental, biblical chord patterns used to create meaningful life sounds that are
connected to meanings and words, which are used to communicate daily truth of our existence to God.
Without the A minor triad in place, from the A minor scale as a base (bass), ABCDEFG, the musical
alphabet has no meaning to you and God s holy trinity of structure and musical movement. Universal
language is more than just words. Beware of the fiery tritone whip that is made out of three fiery
cords, twisted together, burning to drive evil people

Self Check Out Analysis
Humans are no longer depended on in some jobs due to robots, or intelligent machines. Daily
activities conducted by humans are now taken over by automated workers or just machines that can
perform the task. When you go to the grocery store, for example, Walmart, you see self check out
stations. Do you use the self check out or do you go to a regular line with a worker? If you go to the
self check out is it because it s convenient to you? Or do you go to the worker because they do the
work for you? In the essay prompt there was three given perspectives. The first perspective stated that
with these intelligent machines becoming more frequent, that we are ridding of humanity. For
example, when you do go through a regular line at Walmart, the

Meaning Of Strange Creatures By Thomas Blackmore
The meme is controlling humans and humans are the robot for meme. A job is to replicate any meme
that is presented in our daily life. Blackmore gives an example of birthday song and jingle bell in her
essay, Strange Creatures . Just by saying the title Happy Birthday to You will make the people to
humming a tune. Blackmore believes those words affect you, probably quite without any conscious
intention on your part, by stirring up a memory you already possess (6). Based on how people are

College Admissions Flaws
On top of exceptional students getting declined, prestigious schools are accepting less qualified
students such as legacies, athletes, and minorities, contributing to the flawed system. Rather than
admitting students based on their potential to succeed and personal attributes alone, universities often
admit slightly inferior candidates in order to increase their diversity population and maintain a
dedicated alumni. In A is For Admission, Michele Hernandez mentions some of these discrepancies
when explaining that legacies, students with a parent who attended the university, have a forty percent
acceptance rate at Dartmouth in comparison with the typical ten percent acceptance rate (183).
Additionally, Hernandez further explains that athletes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starting in high school, students are not given equal opportunities to excel because of family
background. Furthermore, the admissions process itself has its flaws legacies, minorities, and athletes
are being chosen over exceptionally gifted valedictorians. Even after college, the problems do not end;
possible joblessness and student debt are unavoidable. On top of these major problems, educators and
parents continue to convince kids everywhere that college is the only option to become successful, and
choosing another path is heavily looked down upon. The newest generation s life is centered around
the climax of college while at the same time, more and more students are unable to attend universities
because of cost or rejection, but this is a paradox. The more high schoolers work hard, the more high
schoolers will get turned down to their dream schools, and the more the college admissions process
effectively become a lottery, leading to many highly talented, brilliant, creative people thinking they re
not (Robinson). The widespread college problem has no easy fix, nor does it have a single solution.
Rather than working to fix the unfixable, adults must stop putting such emphasis on the college
pathway, and instead stress that there are other options. The future of the job world is unknown; there
is no way to know if an expensive college education is the right choice. College, with all of its flaws,
is just one option in preparing for the future; it is not necessarily the best. Therefore, the single word,
college, should stop dividing the academic from the non academic or the successful from the
unsuccessful, and instead be considered a single path in an array of worthy

The Destruction Of Great Works Of Art
Over the course of human history, political parties and movements have been involved in the
destruction of great works of art. From the Mongols to recent terrorist organizations like Islamic State,
these political organizations have a bad habit of destroying works of art. Moreover, this is only seen
being done by political organizations that seek change or control over the world.
The most recent and impactful of which being the Nazi party, Taliban, and Islamic state. This area is
incredibly interesting because art is being destroyed right under our noses, not many people
understand the impact of the history behind these works of art that are now destroyed, and it happens
over and over throughout human history. What is very peculiar about this is that not many people
really consider the motivation behind all of the destruction and vandalism. This begs the question,
what causes political organizations to destroy works of art in their quest for political power? For the
past few years the world has begun to really understand the affects and the power that the terrorist
organization Islamic State holds. The main source of media coverage of Islamic state ranges from the
murdering of innocent people to the destruction of ancient works of art. For example, Islamic state
militants in Iraq and Syria wage war against the region s cultural heritage by attacking archaeological
sites with bulldozers and explosives. The actual motives behind their destruction are not set in stone,

Renewable Energy Based Power Generation
Background The growing concern about the impact of CO2 and the anxiety on the effect of using
fossil fuels based power generation technology on the environment, in recent years, has made the
researchers to focusing on the renewable energy based clean power generation techniques to secure
the environment from carbon effect. Among the development of renewable energy based power
generation techniques, the solar power generation has a major role in clean power generation. The
sunlight is free of cost and everlasting energy sources, but the drawback of this method is that
generation of electricity is only possible during the sunshine. In PV system, the DC DC power
converters are used to change the output voltage from one level to another level [25 27]. Typically, the
DC DC converter is connected between the panel and the load, sequentially to extract the available
power from the panel using tracking methods. In this work, Boost converters and Super lift boost
converters [1] are used to extract the maximum power from the panel and two converters diagram is
shown in Figure 1a and Figure 1b respectively. Figure1a. Circuit diagram of Boost converter. The
Boost converter is a switch mode DC to DC converter in which the output voltage is greater than the
input voltage. It is also called as step up converter. The name step up converter comes from the fact
that analogous to step up transformer the input voltage is stepped up to a level greater than the input
voltage. By the law

Biohazard Cleanup Research Paper
When it comes to biohazard cleanup, many people either envision a team coming in to clean up a
chemical spill or a team cleaning up after a murder or other serious crime. Chemical spills and crime
scene cleanup are only a small portion of the services offered by biohazard teams. Here are two other
reasons why you may need the services of a biohazard cleanup team.
Mold
Whether you are moving into a new home with mold damage or you have noticed mold damage in
your current home, getting rid of that mold as soon as possible is important. Unfortunately, untreated
mold can lead to an assortment of health issues. This may include mold induced asthma, skin
infections, and fungal sinus infections.
While serious mold problems in your home or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Toss moldy items. This may include clothing, towels, and rags. It may also include shower curtains or
other bathroom items. While some items can be cleaned, often throwing them out is the safest and
easiest solution.
Odors
Most people will experience undesirable odors in their home at some point. You can often get rid of
these unpleasant odors simply by throwing out items and cleaning up messes. Unfortunately, these bad
smells can stick around and may require a more thorough cleaning, sometimes by a biohazard team.
Fortunately, simply keeping your home clean is one of the top ways to prevent bad smells from
sticking around your house. There are a few steps you can do to prevent bad odors in your home.
Regularly go through your refrigerator and pantry, throwing out food that is no longer good. Rather
than throwing it in your kitchen garbage, where it is likely to make your whole kitchen stink, take the
food to an outdoor trash or dumpster.
Clean up after your pets. For many people, their pets are an integral part of their family. Unfortunately,
pets can also be a smelly part of your family. Make sure your dog gets a bath regularly. Keep any pet
cages or tanks clean. If your pet has an accident in your house, clean it up right away. The sooner you
discover the problem, the less time it will have to seep into your flooring.
Open windows and doors, and otherwise air out your home when you are cooking smelly foods, such
as fish.
Of course, there are many

  • 3. The Theories Of Risk Communications Theories of Risk Communications: Part 2 This is a review of Sellnow Seeger (2013) chapters five, six, and seven of the course reading utilizing outside materials to provide support. The paper will address chaos theory and coordination theory, their use and their role in emergency communication. Community resilience will be reviewed and its importance examined. News framing theory s role in crisis communication will be evaluated and uses and gratifications theory will be explained. The review will explore other crisis theories and describe their strengths and weaknesses. Chaos Theory Chaos Theory (CT) is a way to evaluate and enhance other theoretical systems. CT explains that the more complex the system is, the increased number of variables and points of failure it will have. It also demonstrates that systems in general are self healing . Individuals involved within the system will not panic as characterized by popular belief, but rather will self organize. Contemporary approaches recognize that emergent, self organizing groups exist as natural responses to crisis (Sellnow Seeger, 2013, p.107). Communication can either assist or hinder the creation of these groups. CT states that changes or breakdown in communication can influence the behavior and effectiveness of a crisis response system (Sellnow Seeger, 2013). CT also challenges the wisdom behind providing detailed and precise communication, favoring a more generalized approach to promote the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Pierre Bourdieu And Coleman Essay Pierre Bourdieu and James Coleman are the two sociologist who studied social capital. It was Bourdieu who is credited with developing the term in sociology, and Coleman who introduced it for widespread use. Bourdieu classified his theory into fields of theory, which are capital and how they relate to class reproduction. For Pierre the relationship between social and economic capital was the key, while Coleman thought that ties to the community is what made social capital happen. While both felt that social capital went hand in hand with social structure, they theorized it in different manners. Bourdieu and Coleman emphasized other forms of social capital as it deals with the intangible aspects of social capital. Economic capital can be found in peoples bank accounts, whilst human capital resides in peoples heads. Social capital, however, inheres in the structure of their relationships. Thus to possess social capital, a person must be related to others and it is those others, not himself, who are the actual source of advantage (Portes, 1998). In order to understand Bourdieu and Coleman, I will first compare and contrast the definition of social capital, by each theorist. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Coleman defines social capital to refer to features of social structure that facilitate action. Among these are systems of trust and obligations, networks disseminating information, norms accompanied by sanctioning systems, centralized authority structures arising through transfers of control, and appropriable social organization that may be used for purposes distinct from those that led to establishing it (Marsden, 2005). Bourdieu has a different definition of social capital, the aggregate of the actual or potential resources which are linked to possession of a durable network of more or less institutionalized relationships of mutual acquaintance or recognition. • 5. Traditional Vs. Online Education Compare and Contrast Traditional vs. Online As this world s technology is progressing so is the way we teach and learn. Ever since school started hundreds of years ago it s always been a teacher in a live classroom with many students. Everything is shifting, however; and now we have transitioned into online classes as well. I have had both, and I can tell you there are many comparisons and contrasts between the two. 77% of educators believe that online learning is just as good as traditional learning, if not better, nearly 70% of all students claim online instruction to be as good as or better than a traditional classroom setting, and 26% of online students claim to learn better online than in a classroom. So clearly people aren t too against this new form of learning. Online enrollment rates are expanding at much faster rates than traditional classroom enrollment growth; specifically, in higher education, online enrollments have grown 21%, whereas growth for traditional classroom instruction registers only 2% since 2002. Traditional and Online classes have a lot of similarities and differences especially in areas like flexibility, comprehension of the course material, and discipline. Traditional is what I had my entire life up until I entered high school. It is what I prefer out of both choices. I learn from one on one interaction, and that is something that online doesn t have. In traditional there is not very much flexibility because of several reasons. Classes are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Renewable Energy Through Feed On Tariffs And Taxes Introduction In recent years, more has been debated on whether or not nonrenewable energy such as fossil fuel has caused global warming. Sakamoto and Managi (2016) believe fossil fuel is the likely reason that temperatures have been rising from greenhouse gases, increasing the CO2 emissions (p. 1). With depleting resources, it may be a good idea to look more seriously at renewable energy (Sakamoto Managi, 2016, p. 16). More governments have been trying to create policies to encourage usage of renewable energy. However, it has been debated what is the best way to enforce renewable energy. In this paper, I will discuss two ways countries have been encouraging renewable energy through feed in tariffs and taxes. Body Sakamoto and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 14). An increase in marginal cost of nonrenewable resources will drive more consumers to renewable resources. On the other hand, a tax on nonrenewable energy does not have the same effect. Sakamoto and Managi (2016) discovered: The introduction of the tax on the nonrenewable energy sector leads to the reduction of nonrenewable energy use and an acceleration of renewable energy use, but the acceleration is not enough to keep the pre tax level of production... because the marginal cost of renewable energy is high as renewable energy use increases (p. 15). A tax on nonrenewable energy leads to an increase in marginal cost of renewable energy. Less consumers were interested in buying when prices on renewable energy rose. Another way governments have been trying to implement renewable energy is through feed in tariffs. Feed in tariffs usually consist of some type of purchase obligation and also a tariff payment on renewable energy that is fixed for every unit of electricity (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43). The grid operator involved in the purchase obligation must buy the renewable electricity no matter what (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43). The producer has the right to a certain amount of money for every unit of electricity that they produce (Jacobs, 2012, p. 43). • 7. Suspense In The Movie Jaws In April of 1975, Saigon, the South Vietnamese capital, fell. This triggered the end of the Vietnam War, the only real defeat in American military history. Two months later, the movie Jaws was released, and it was a smash hit, the first real blockbuster in the history of American cinema. The success of the film is of course related to the fact that it was based on a popular book, built suspense like few if any previous films had done, and of course was marketed and released on an unprecedented scale that led to a new trend among films. However, there are reasons that this film was so successful in its time. In the wake of seeing the United States fail to stop the Communist beast it had been fighting for over twenty years, Americans were looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If this concept is carried out to its fruition, it would imply that in the context of history, the government was trying to ignore a real threat to carry on the normal way of life and sustain a sense of peace. In reality, the war is generally perceived as being the opposite: the government was imagining the threat of Communism starting its spread in Vietnam and in the process taking over the world, and in the process it must be stopped by military force, which means thousands of our own people would die. The fact that the mayor denies the existence of the shark for so much of the film that makes the connection to the Vietnam War hard to make. • 8. Valley Forge Life You wake up cold and slowly rise from your bare cot, shivering. You dress in you re only spare clothing, and peel back the ripped canvas tent door. As your bare feet step onto the snowy grass, a shiver runs down your spine. You are given a piece of bread, while you long for turkey and potatoes. You see many bodies being carried out of the makeshift hospitals, as you dread that you might be next. This is how a day in the life of the Revolutionary War soldiers went through while the army was in Valley Forge. Would you like to live in these conditions? The Revolutionary War was already at a disadvantage before they even stepped foot onto the area of Valley Forge. You could say that was because the soldiers had bad circumstances. They just lost two battles before, Brandywine and Germantown, so their spirits were low. Most enlisted were from ages 11 to 16, while others were 50 to 60 years old (Hobart). Many of them were volunteers, so they were untrained and undisciplined. Some soldiers wives agreed to be nurses to help, but there were not enough medical supplies, so many died. Out of 12,000 men, 3,000 died and 2,000 left because they were sick. • 9. The Uk And Its Economy 1. Introduction On 23rd June 2016, there will be an important referendum for the UK and its economy to resolve whether the UK leaves the EU or not. The decision that will be made by the British citizens will effect on a lot of sectors in many ways. However, it is expected that especially sports industry which has been globally developing nowadays will be the most influenced on by that decision. The purpose of the report is to identify what are the advantages and disadvantages for sport related organisations caused by the case of the UK leaving the EU. In this report, it will be focusing on Manchester City Football Club, and discussing what are the main merits and demerits for one of the most globally oriented football clubs as a result of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of this, Manchester City cannot spend as much money on signing foreign talent as these players will face difficulty to work in the UK, meaning the club can instead invest the money that they would have spent on players in their youth academy. Home grown players could benefit from a Brexit (Slater 2016). Appendix 1 shows that Manchester City is in the bottom 4 of the Premier League for a number of British players used by the club, so to switch from buying players abroad to investing into the youth academy means that it is a positive for Manchester City as it will make it a more traditional British club. What this does for Manchester City is inherit the squad to become more of a Manchester like club as they can focus on bringing up home grown players from their youth academy meaning there will be an increase in the amount of British players in the club as at the moment there are only 4 British players within the 24 men first team of Manchester City. What this also does for Manchester City is help the economic situation they face themselves with as for example a player who recently has been promoted from the youth academy into the first team is Kelechi Iheanacho is on a weekly salary of £2,236 however a player such as Yaya Toure has a weekly salary worth £220,000. Zinn claims that it was money and power that were driving forces behind Columbus. He tells us that Spain promised him a 10% cut of all the gold found, governorship of any new found lands, and the new title of Admiral.[2] Gold and the regulation thereof are the primary focuses of Columbus letter to the King and Queen of Spain, thought to have been written around the year 1492, but definitely written after the his initial discovery.[3] So whether wholly or in part it appears that riches and power were factors contributing to Columbus decision to risk so much. After all he made multiple trips across the Atlantic not just one. So apparently he was concerned with more than just the discovery of a trade route. Columbus discovery was made possible by the Spanish Crown therefore all new found lands were claimed in the name of Spain and a Spanish flag planted on the soil thereof in testament to this fact. Spain was still a catholic nation at this time and the Spanish monarchy still acknowledged the Pope as the dominant spiritual authority on the Earth. However it would not be long after Columbus discovery that all of Europe would be shaken to its very foundation and set ablaze in what we now call the Protestant Reformation. I feel like this type of data should have its own set of opt in and opt out system because this is data that could be very sensitive to a patient and should be treated with care. • 13. Comparing The Attitude Of Satan And Jesus In Paradise Lost Many examples exist that contrast the attitudes of Satan and Jesus. Paradise Lost is one such example that displays the negative attitudes of pride, hate, and rebellion that Satan has. On the contrary, the Bible is an excellent source that shows Jesus attitudes of humility, love, and submission. Firstly, Satan had an attitude of pride in Paradise Lost. One example of his pride was when he said he desired, being the contrary of His high will. This shows his pride because Satan just wants to contradict God. Another example of pride was when Satan said, to be weak is miserable, implying that serving God, the Creator of all things, was a sign of weakness. A final example of Satan s pride was he said it was, better to reign in hell then serve in Heaven. This also shows that Satan viewed serving God as undesirable. However, the Bible shows Jesus has the quality of humility. This is shown in Luke 4:24, when it said, Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his home town. This shows humility because Jesus could have demanded the respect he deserves, but he did not. Instead he allowed himself to be shut out and rejected. Another example of Jesus humility came from Matthew 20:28a, even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve. This clearly shows humility because Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior came to serve. Similarly, John 13:5a says, Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples feet, again showing servanthood instead of Lordship. Secondly, Satan had the attitude of hatred. This is shown when he said, farthest from Him is best. This displays that Satan does not want to be anywhere God is which is why God created hell, as a place where Satan can dwell without God s presence. Another time hatred was shown was when Satan said, ever to do ill our sole delight. This paints a picture that Satan hates people so much that the only way he is happy was when people suffer. Although Satan hates everyone, Jesus is full of love for people. This is shown in John 14:2b, which says, In my Father s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? This shows Jesus love because he has gone to Heaven to prepare a place for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. A Very Brief Look at the New Testament The New Testament is an anthology of twenty seven ancient writings that describe the life of Jesus Christ and the beginning of the Christian Church. This anthology was not written by just one person, but rather, has several authors, most of whom are known and some of whom are not distinctly known. All of these writings are believed to have been written in the first and second centuries AD from roughly 50AD to 125AD(class notes). The New Testament was mainly written in Greek with some small bits of Aramaic (class notes), but has since been translated into various other languages. This group of writings has been used as both a theological and historical document, while there are no clear lines distinguishing the two. It becomes apparent in studying the New Testament that it is a group of texts discussing Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the origin and spread of Christianity while including a heavy influence of the societies of the authors. The New Testament comes from at least eight different authors who lived during and after the life of Jesus. Each of the writings, while dealing with Jesus, his teachings or the spread of Christianity, has a historical undertone. There are clear bits of historical context throughout the anthology that allow the books to be dated and provide insight to the world of the authors. When the prophetic destruction of the temple in Jerusalem is being discussed in the gospels, it is clear that the authors are discussing the threat of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. The Nature Of Religion In Robinson Crusoe Robinson Crusoe is much more than a novel that focuses on the religion of its fictional character Crusoe, it s a philosophical investigation into the nature of religion. By looking through the philosophical works that preceded Daniel Defoe s novel we can see how it ponders the questions of its time and presents a metaphor of the development of morality, economics and religion. Both, the ideas presented by Thomas Hobbs and Bernard Mandeville s An Enquiry into the Origin of Moral Virtue will serve us well in understanding where Defoe is coming from and how he is actually developing upon theses philosophies. Defoe boldly takes the ideas of his time and applies them to religion in a way that perhaps his contemporaries were afraid to. He posits that religion is an economic construction developed to help us cope with our condition. In many ways Defoe s novel asks questions that were far ahead of their time. To begin this investigation, we must look to the text to find evidence that more is going on here than simple faith. The biggest problem with Crusoe s faith is that it s generally not present during his day to day life. He only prays when he needs something or is terribly fearful of death, then after he overcomes his trial he practically forgets the Lord all together. The first chapter of the book has Crusoe praying for salvation from a nautical storm, he sees his survival as a sign to never go back out to sea again. Yet, in the same chapter he blows off his recent religions resolution claiming to be but a young sailor, and had never known anything of the matter (52). Crusoe s religious fickleness carries on throughout the novel but each act of coming back to God in fear can also be seen as an act of repentance. This repentance doesn t distract from the novel as a religious allegory, but it does reveal the selfish nature of man. At its core Robinson Crusoe is a novel about our origins and base desires. As many have suggested, by placing a man alone on a deserted island Defoe recreates the savage man in his state of nature that both Hobbes and Locke were so concerned with philosophizing over before Defoe wrote his novel. Mired in legislative gridlock due to the polarization of political parties, struggling to fully recover from the global recession brought on by the collapse of the financial industry, and lagging in comparison to some of our peers in respect to education standards and social welfare policies, many have begun to predict the decline of America and have declared the model of classical liberal capitalism defunct. In previous centuries, our loosely structured economic system, based upon the principles derived from free market capitalism and individual civil liberties, provided the American economy the flexibility to shift, evolve, and innovate as markets, individual ... This high corporate tax structure has precipitated the flow of large corporations to tax havens around the world the effect of which has caused the U.S. to miss out on valuable tax revenue while small and medium sized domestic businesses must struggle to foot the bill themselves. The government would like to put the impetus on American corporations to return their tax headquarters to the United States, but why would they when they can legally obtain a lower rate elsewhere? There needs to be a compromise between business and government in America that creates a lower, competitive corporate tax structure while still allowing government to generate revenue that can be spent on developing effective social welfare ... • 17. Marburg Hemorrhagic Fever Marburg hemorrhagic fever (Marburg HF) is a rare, critical pyrexia which affects both non human and human primates. Marburg HF results from the Marburg virus, a distinct animal borne RNA virus apart of the filovirus virus. The only other known member of the filovirus family is Ebola. The virus was first identified in 1976 when there was an outbreak of the hemorrhagic fever in the labs of Marburg, Frankfurt, Germany, and Belgrade, Serbia (WHO). Throughout the lab, thirty one became infected, beginning with the laboratory workers, then followed by other medical personnel and family members who tried to take care of them. Chills and fever result from the body attempting to fight off the virus by raising the body temperature and killing the virus (Stöppler). The virus also attacks the organism, in which body aches, headaches, and weakness are all signs of the immune system fighting the virus. Overtime the symptoms worsen with vomiting, chest pains, coughing, sore throat, and stomach pain for the same reasons as the weakened immune system. Due to organ failure and hemorrhaging that occur five days after the fever, there is often bleeding from eyes, ears and nose (Huizen). Symptoms can also become increasingly severe and may include pancreas inflammation, severe weight loss, shock, delirium, liver failure, and multi organ dysfunction. People infected appear as though they are ghost like as they have set, motionless faces and deep set eyes (WHO). Marburg virus has been found in African monkeys, chimps and other nonhuman primates. The virus is transmitted to humans through an infected animal s bodily fluids, by blood and waste products. By blood, people can catch the virus by handling infected animals, and also by those who have operated on an infected animal and got the disease from them. Through waste products, people can be contaminated by visiting places that have been infected with organisms that carry the Marburg virus. • 18. The Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh Of Iran Essay In mid 1953, democratic leader Mohammad Mossadegh of Iran was overthrown in favor of electing General Fazlollah Zahedi the new Iranian Prime Minister. This was caused by a coup led by the British Secret Intelligence Service and the US Central Intelligence Agency, though plans for the coup began in Britain about 2 years before the US became involved. Britain, since the early 18th century, had been very involved in Iranian economic affairs, due to Iranian leader Nasir al Din Shah selling large chunks of Iranian industry to foreign investors in order to fund his well known over exuberance. Of his foreign investors, Britain bought into Iran heavily, purchasing rights to run a telegraph through Iran to India, exclusive rights to tobacco in Iran, and exclusive rights to industry, farmland, resources, roads, banks, and currency in Iran, though the latter would later be revoked (31). This decision to subsequently, over time, led to control over the nation s most valuable assets to be given to foreigners, rather than the Iranian people (32). After Nasir al Din Shah s death in 1901, his son Muzzaffar sold the rights to Iranian oil to Britain for 60 years. This decision led to Iranian riots because this would take oil out of Iranian control and Iranian economy would suffer as a result. To combat this, in 1906, Iran formed an Iranian parliament, known as the Majlis, to defend the Iranian people and keep Iran out of poverty. Feeling threatened, Britain stepped in and integrated ... The practice of cutting off and preserving the head or skull of another is known as headhunting. The concept of headhunting is without a doubt seen as monstrous to the modern society, though it was completely normal to many cultures in the past. Many cultures believed that the head either represented the core of the personality or that a person s soul was concentrated in their head. Due to the belief that the soul was concentrated in the head, headhunting was seen as a wonderful tactic against enemies. College Admissions Flaws On top of exceptional students getting declined, prestigious schools are accepting less qualified students such as legacies, athletes, and minorities, contributing to the flawed system. Rather than admitting students based on their potential to succeed and personal attributes alone, universities often admit slightly inferior candidates in order to increase their diversity population and maintain a dedicated alumni. In A is For Admission, Michele Hernandez mentions some of these discrepancies when explaining that legacies, students with a parent who attended the university, have a forty percent acceptance rate at Dartmouth in comparison with the typical ten percent acceptance rate (183). Starting in high school, students are not given equal opportunities to excel because of family background. Furthermore, the admissions process itself has its flaws legacies, minorities, and athletes are being chosen over exceptionally gifted valedictorians. Even after college, the problems do not end; possible joblessness and student debt are unavoidable. On top of these major problems, educators and parents continue to convince kids everywhere that college is the only option to become successful, and choosing another path is heavily looked down upon. The newest generation s life is centered around the climax of college while at the same time, more and more students are unable to attend universities because of cost or rejection, but this is a paradox. The more high schoolers work hard, the more high schoolers will get turned down to their dream schools, and the more the college admissions process effectively become a lottery, leading to many highly talented, brilliant, creative people thinking they re not (Robinson). The widespread college problem has no easy fix, nor does it have a single solution. Rather than working to fix the unfixable, adults must stop putting such emphasis on the college pathway, and instead stress that there are other options. The future of the job world is unknown; there is no way to know if an expensive college education is the right choice. College, with all of its flaws, is just one option in preparing for the future; it is not necessarily the best. Therefore, the single word, college, should stop dividing the academic from the non academic or the successful from the unsuccessful, and instead be considered a single path in an array of worthy ... From the Mongols to recent terrorist organizations like Islamic State, these political organizations have a bad habit of destroying works of art. Moreover, this is only seen being done by political organizations that seek change or control over the world. The most recent and impactful of which being the Nazi party, Taliban, and Islamic state. This area is incredibly interesting because art is being destroyed right under our noses, not many people understand the impact of the history behind these works of art that are now destroyed, and it happens over and over throughout human history. What is very peculiar about this is that not many people really consider the motivation behind all of the destruction and vandalism. This begs the question, what causes political organizations to destroy works of art in their quest for political power? For the past few years the world has begun to really understand the affects and the power that the terrorist organization Islamic State holds. The main source of media coverage of Islamic state ranges from the murdering of innocent people to the destruction of ancient works of art. For example, Islamic state militants in Iraq and Syria wage war against the region s cultural heritage by attacking archaeological sites with bulldozers and explosives. The actual motives behind their destruction are not set in stone, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Among the development of renewable energy based power generation techniques, the solar power generation has a major role in clean power generation. The sunlight is free of cost and everlasting energy sources, but the drawback of this method is that generation of electricity is only possible during the sunshine. In PV system, the DC DC power converters are used to change the output voltage from one level to another level [25 27]. Typically, the DC DC converter is connected between the panel and the load, sequentially to extract the available power from the panel using tracking methods. In this work, Boost converters and Super lift boost converters [1] are used to extract the maximum power from the panel and two converters diagram is shown in Figure 1a and Figure 1b respectively. Figure1a. Circuit diagram of Boost converter. The Boost converter is a switch mode DC to DC converter in which the output voltage is greater than the input voltage. It is also called as step up converter. The name step up converter comes from the fact that analogous to step up transformer the input voltage is stepped up to a level greater than the input voltage.
