Influence Of Music On Society
1. After reading this article give your ideas on exactly how music can influence the thinking of a
society. Music is the expression of the society. People tend to share their opinion and express
themselves through the music. Consequently, music become in an important way to influence the
society s thought. Music has played a fundamental role in history since man is a man.
It is used for so many things that it is almost impossible to think of them all.
It s an art we meet every day since we woke up until we went to bed. Without the music, the world
would be very different. As it is used more as a symbol ritualistic to express a feeling; Without the

Social Media s Influence On Human Interaction
In today s society, social media has caused us to demote human interaction and reward imitation
connections and communications, making it hinder us from maintaining close personal relationships.
We would rather talk to someone over the screen then over coffee, and only identify the worthy
aspects of our life and disregard the undesirable. This want and desire through social media for a false
persona and false ties gives us an aesthetic good life , but ultimately hinders us from reaching a
genuine good life .
Social media has replaced most human to human interaction, leading to decreased physical and mental
abilities, making some lives less desirable. In Robert Waldingers TED Talk, The Harvard Study of
Adult Development, his second lesson learned was that people who are more socially connected to
family and friends are happier, physically healthier, and live longer. When this study took place, social
media had not yet been revealed, leaving them with minimal options on how to communicate with
people. Social media has changed the way that individuals interact, and in a sense, humans
themselves. We find ourselves conversing more and more over social media websites such as
Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat, but when faced with actually face to face contact, are found
speechless. With this new technology, more and more are likely to not become as connected to friends
and family as the subjects were in the study, decreasing their overall happiness and hindering society.

Summarise Entitlement And Provision For Early Years...
Since 2004, all children in the UK aged three and four years old have been entitled to free places at
nursery or another preschool setting (including childminders). From 1st September 2010 the
Government extended these hours from 12.5 to 15 hours for up to 38 weeks of the year.
The free entitlement provides universal access to early childhood education and care, ensuring that all
children have the opportunity to benefit from early years education. The extended hours also supports
parents who wish to go back to work or develop their careers through further education by providing
affordable daycares.

Hiv And The World Health Organization
HIV/AIDS is a an acronym that has become synonymous with the weakening of the human immunity
system and has become a constant source of anguish for the infected and their families. According to
the Center for Disease Control, more than 1.2 million people in the US are living with HIV. What may
be worrying is that 1 in 8 persons are unaware of their positive status. Despite the number of new HIV
diagnoses has decreasing by 19% between 2005 and 2014 , there is still a lot of unsightly statistics that
paint a picture of uncertainty regarding its eradication. HIV is incurable, The only relief comes in the
form of ARVs which help the body adapt to the weakened immune system. Globally, the World Health
Organization, puts the numbers at over 100 million people and most of them in developing countries.
A terrible scourge indeed and a relevant disease to analyze closely.

million, the highest per capita income and the second largest economy in the world, Japan is a very
smart market for retailers. The opportunity exists, but there is much more research and planning that
needed to be done before expansion began. Instead of adapting business operations to the Japanese
culture, the company essentially assumed the Japanese would readily adjust to Wal Mart s. For
example, in Japan there is a much larger need for local store customization. Consumer buyer behavior
is much different than in the United States, with purchasing patterns and product selection varying
greatly between regions. They have a trend to buy smaller quantities in regular intervals rather than
the more American idea of stocking up. Similarly, the concept of large retail stores is foreign. Retailers
with the highest growth rate are small specialty stores; quite the opposite of Wal Mart. The culture
tends to buy more fresh produce than pre packaged goods as well. Lastly, the Japanese view high price
as equaling high quality. This mentality causes them to purchase forty percent of the world s luxury
goods annually. Packaging and appearance of goods play a huge role in their purchasing decisions.

Critical Review of Undaunted Courage
Critical Review of Undaunted Courage Stephen Ambrose s Undaunted Courage is a remarkable piece
of nonfiction literature. His work is so thorough that one wonders how he has time to do much more.
Yet he has created time in his life to go west and go camping and hiking and canoeing in the summers
with his family. Which possibly shows that anything can be raw material to the open mind, for it was
on those trips that he developed a great fascination with the Lewis and Clark expedition that explored
the West when the country was twenty five years old. Ambrose creates a precise and true story of the
expedition in witch most readers would be enthralled. His style is smooth, readable and enjoyable,
unlike many historical nonfiction of the day. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The overall effect of the author s style is to tell a tale of bravery and discovery, without much feeling.
There are many moving descriptions of events like the suicide of Lewis, who probable suffered from
bi polar, years after the expedition itself and the beautiful imagery of the assorted settings, by means
of which he is extremely familiar, make it easy to understand why people today retrace long Lewis s
and Clark s journey. The wide use of the actual diaries of the journey members gives effervescence to
the descriptions of the diverse tribes of, the wildlife, Indians, and natural difficulty encountered. The
diaries also offer a peek into the characters of these famed figures and their troop. The gaps left by the
diaries and Ambrose dexterously fills in other documents. He additionally colors the characters,
settings, and situations with well grounded conjectures. Undaunted Courage was a delight to read.
Who knew that history could be such an adventure. Stephen Ambrose, once and for all has put Lewis
and Clark s adventure in infamy. The story was so true to the real expedition. Ambrose amazingly
crafted a seamless story although there were many gaps in Lewis and Clark s journals and
documentation. The style was readable and simple. It tells of a remarkable story and amazing bravery
that not many can match. This book is a jewel in history and really conveys the history of our country,
for if it wasn t for Lewis and Clark, The United States of America could be

Reflection Paper On Field Work
Waiting to find out my internship placement, interviewing with my placement, and starting work has
been the most exciting part of my graduate education to date. I was placed with Walton County
Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and started working with them in the last week
of September. The transition from the classroom to the field has been smooth with my classes having
equipped me for the field work I have already done and hopefully for the field work to come. While
the transition from classroom to field has been smooth, it has been drastically different working with
DFCS from reading in textbooks and class lectures. At my field placement, I have been able to interact
with clients and get to know them on a first name basis. Meeting real clients has been fascinating. Not
only do I get to learn about what is going on in their lives, I also get to learn about how they feel about
it, what they think about it, and see their expressions and emotions as they relay this information to
me. Face to face interaction with a client is unlike anything that can be gathered from a textbook. We
have textbooks that give scenarios and scripted interviews, but a book is never able to fully capture the
same experience as when you actually talk to a client. Even if a client s problem(s) may not be that
interesting I find it captivating to speak with someone and learn about what they are going through,
then to read about worst situation possible scenarios for clients in

Behavioral And Contextual Factors That Affect The Females...
Besides stereotype threats, there is also a group of behavioral and contextual factors which affect the
females and minority students career choices. These individual differences affect the adolescent s
potential outcome in STEM. These differences are also supported by two theories which also can
explain the results of career choice. First is the theory from Lent, Brown, Hacket (1994,2000) called
the social cognitive career theory (SCCT) which emphasizes self efficacy as well as its link to the
likely outcome of choosing a specific path, interests, goals, and the interaction of these attitudes with
relevant contextual variables and individual difference (Else Quest et. all, 2013). This theory is rooted
in Bandura s 1986 self efficacy theory. A more recent theory which also supports the link of self
efficacy to the outcomes of academic and vocational pursuits is Eccles expectancy value theory. This
theory maintains that achievement behaviors are the product of an individual s expectations for
success and the perceived value of the behavior (Else Quest et all, 2013). Stereotype threats about the
affected adolescence s math and science abilities are transmitted by their parents and teachers which
leads to negative attitudes being shaped and these beliefs shaping the performance and overall interest
in STEM fields. It is the environmental cues which make the negative stereotypes salient (Sharpio
Williams, 2011). Many aspects of the adolescents environment such as, parent

Database Management System For A Company
A research database management system (RDBMS) is the most used database management system for
a company. Its roots date back to 1970, created by E.F. Codd at IBM. The database approach involves
the storage of data involving tables. Attributes of the tables involve rows, used as a record of an entity.
Columns, also attributes of the table, determine what will be recorded for that field. Within a table one
primary key will be found, this represents a unique column of the table. A table may also have a
foreign key, there can be more than one, and it identifies a primary key of another table. Foreign keys
allow for relationships between tables to be created.
The RDBMS is so widely used because of its simplicity to understand relationships between data. The
data can also be analyzed in many ways using queries, reports, etc. A database management system
covers all functions of the business and is essential for businesses to be run efficiently. Since the
introduction of this time of database management system in 1970 it has triumphed many former types
of widely used databases and fended off new types of databases to remain the most common type.
Times have changed in the information technology world since 1970 when IBM was running the show
and leading the world with improving and introducing new technology. I believe the top five most
used RDBMS used in the market today are Oracle, Microsoft SQL server, IBM DB2, MySQL and
PostgreSQL. Oracle database had its first

Alexander IIi Of Macedonia Truly Worthy Of The Title Essay
Was Alexander III of Macedonia really worthy of the title Great or was he just a megalomaniac
conditioned into this belief by his followers? Well, if you consider his military legacy which is almost
as large as the swath of territory he conquered spanning from modern day Greece to northern India, or
the fact that his over 2,000 year old combat tactics are still being taught at military academies the
world over, I don t believe the word great would be too far from imagination. When Alexander rose to
power following the death of his father, Phillip II, his kingdom of Macedonia encompassed all of the
land that we know as modern Greece. For Alexander this was not enough. Phillip II is believed to have
prophesized s his son s ambitions with the words, My son you must find a kingdom big enough for
your ambition. Macedon is too small for you. after Alexander tamed his wild buck Bucephalas at age
10. Born around July 20th, 356 BC to King Phillip II and one of his favorite wives, Olympias,
Alexander was believed to be destined for greatness from the start. Many tall tales about his birth
origin circulated throughout and after his life including his personal claim of descent from Achilles
and Zeus. After enjoying a leisurely life as the child of a noble family, he began his tutelage under
Aristotle at the age of 13. His father, Phillip II was frequently absent from Macedonia on long
conquest campaigns that eventually unified most of the Greek cities under his rule. In his

Risk Management of London 2012 Olympics

Olympics are mega global event that attracts the attention worldwide with billions of audience
watching on television, while millions flock to events as spectators. The media embraces the
opportunity of covering every inch of the games. This kind of interest is what organisers face with no
room for error in relation to external attacks or system failures of the event although risks are bound to

impact to the organisers though they dread to have negative risks, which causes ripple effect to the

Olympic organisers who strive to avoid risks as early as possible and to assure athletes plus spectators

and intangible evidence. (Jennings, 2012)
Tangible evidence may relate to issues like the construction of Olympic village where all athletes

For as long as I can remember, there used to be a tradition amongst the women and children of my

How Candidiasis Is A Fungal Infection Caused By Yeasts
Candidiasis: Overview and Causes
Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by yeasts that belong to the genus Candida. There are at least
15 distinct Candida species that cause human disease, but 90% of invasive disease is caused by the 5
most common pathogens, C. albicans, C. glabrata, C. tropicalis, C. parapsilosis, and C. krusei with
candida albicans being the most prevalent.(Ostrosky Zeichner et al., 2015) Candida yeasts normally
reside in the intestinal tract and can be found on mucous membranes and skin without causing
infection; however, overgrowth of these organisms can cause symptoms to develop. Symptoms of
candidiasis vary depending on the area of the body that is infected.(CDC, 2016e)
The different types of Candidiasis are determined by the area of the body they affect. Oropharyngeal
candidiasis, otherwise known as Thrush, inhabits the buccal cavity or throat. Candidiasis of the vagina
is commonly referred to as a yeast infection. The most clinically significant version of candidiasis is
invasive candidiasis, which happens as a result of a candida species entering the bloodstream and
spreading throughout the body. Invasive candidiasis is primarily found in immunocompromised
patients such as those suffering from HIV, undergoing corticosteroid therapy, chemotherapy, or those
with diabetes.
Candidiasis: Signs and Symptoms and Sequelae

Donald Trump Qualities
As many may have seen on the news over the past few months, Donald Trump has announced
entrance into the 2016 presidential race. Donald Trump would make a good president because of his
successful business tactics. Over Donald s career as a real estate agent and entrepreneur, he has
become a billionaire and as of today he is worth over $4 billion according to Forbes.com. The first
thing one may ask is what some of the qualifications to become President are and does Mr. Trump
meet them? According to Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution, there are three
requirements to become President of the United States. First, the President must be a natural born U.S.
citizen. Second, the candidate must have been a resident for fourteen years in the United States.
Finally, the President must be at least 35 years of age or older. These requirements have been in place
since the Constitution was written over 200 years ago.

Trump would make a good president because he has proved himself as a successful businessman.
Also, he is not the average politician since he isn t afraid to talk about hot topics like border control

with the right people to get it resolved. A final reason why Donald Trump would make a good
president is that because of his fame and crazy behavior, he has been able to get free publicity on

Asian carmakers, such as Toyota, also accepted the agreement, with one more year to achieve it. This
criterion can be met especially by developing hybrid engines or reducing the fuel consumption, which
is a fantastic opportunity for the segment of mini cars whose small engines consume less. Economical
Economic uncertainty, high unemployment rate (8.9% in March 2005), and increasing fuel price
characterized the European economic environment. Therefore a gain in volume of mini cars sells is
likely to occur, as these cars are cheaper. Moreover, emerging markets are booming and eager to
possess Western cars. Social There is a growing concern about ecological issues among countries of
the European Union, which may have an impact on the car customers. Moreover, because of poor
economic conditions, customers increasingly pay attention to their purchasing power and to their

I Know This Much Is True Sparknotes
Book Review: I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb.
Its not just a book it s a life experience These are the words of Oprah Winfrey as she heavily promoted
Wally Lamb s latest novel following his best seller; She s Come Undone. Oprah, clearly an undeniable
fan of Wally Lamb s works trumpeted her review of She s Come Undone to her audience in 1997.
Now she has returned to promote I Know This Much is True which no doubt will captivate her
followers. Being a loyal Oprah fan myself, I have seen it my place to read and analyze I know this
much is true and see whether or not it lives up to its already outstanding reviews. Nothing could
compare to what I would come across while following the depressing yet captivating life of Dominic
and Thomas.
Set in 20th Century America, this novel follows the eventful life of narrator Dominic as he struggles
with himself as well as being responsible for his schizophrenic twin brother Thomas. Dominic Birdsey
s entire life has been compromised and conflicted by anger, fear, his brother and his passed.
Throughout his life, Lamb unflinchingly explores dysfunctional families, mental illness, forgiveness
and domestic abuse. As well as this, Wally Lamb s deeply moving story brings together some of
humanities greatest fears, our fear of loneliness, our desire for love and acceptance and our struggle to
survive at all costs. I bit daunted by the size of this 900 page novel, I was intrigued by the cover image
of two fetus s in the womb as

Why Eddie Van Halen is an Influential Musician Essay
There are certain musicians that come along that shift a culture, attitude, or future musicians. Another
musician that went on influence future generations and considered one of the greatest guitar players in
the world is Eddie Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen was born in Holland in 1955 and immigrated to
Pasadena California. At the age of seven, Eddie was training as a classical pianist, although his love
for Rock and Roll was developing. He started working a paper route and used the money to buy a
drum set. His brother Alex, also musically inclined, bought a guitar. After months of practicing, Alex
and Eddie switched instruments. Alex would spend hours on Eddie s drums and loved to play them.
Eddie, a little frustrated with the drums, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A little later, Eddie heard Michael Anthony on the bass and thought that he was perfect for their band.
Still, something was missing; Alex thought they needed a front man. He suggested that they let David
Lee Roth be the front man, mainly to save the rent money on the PA system. David Lee came on board
and thought the brother s last name sounded cool, and the rock group Van Halen was born. On one
particular show, Gene Simmons from Kiss caught Van Halen at the local gig. He offered to help them
out. Gene Simmons flew Van Halen to New York to tape a demo and introduced them to the Kiss
production management. They had no interest in Van Halen citing that there was no commercial value
to Van Halen, so the band went back to their local gigs in California. During a show in Hollywood,
Warner Brothers records representative Ted Templeman saw their act and signed them less than a
week later for a record deal with the Warner brother s label. They headed out on the road immediately
and caught up with Warner Brothers headliners to open their shows. The other groups were not very
pleased with the band, especially when Van Halen started getting better reviews. Van Halen was then
off to England to open for another band that Eddie idolized, Black Sabbath. Ozzie was so impressed
with the band that he admitted that Van Halen was outplaying Sabbath. At least that is what Ozzie said
according to the Van Halen camp.
Van Halen went on to record 26 albums in their career with

Window air conditioner is the most commonly used air conditioner for single rooms. In this air
conditioner all the components, namely the compressor, condenser, expansion valve or coil,
evaporator and cooling coil are enclosed in a single box. This unit is fitted in a slot made in the wall of
the room, or more commonly a window sill.
2. Split Air Conditioner
The split air conditioner comprises of two parts: the outdoor unit and the indoor unit. The outdoor
unit, fitted outside the room, houses components like the compressor, condenser and expansion valve.
The indoor unit comprises the evaporator or cooling coil and the cooling fan. For this unit you don t
have to make any slot in the wall of the room. Further, present day split units have aesthetic appeal
and do not take up as much space as a window unit.

The Theory Of The Quantum Computation Model
Living in a world where computers have solved some of the world s biggest problems and
revolutionised the way science and technology function in our day to day lives there still exists a
number of problems that even classical computers cannot solve or take an incredibly large amount to
do so. For example RSA encryption works on the basis that factoring large numbers takes incredible
amounts of time even the most sophisticated classical factoring algorithms take unrealistic amounts to
factor large numbers such as the ones used in RSA cryptography. The theory of the quantum
computation model takes advantage of quantum mechanics to solve problems that normal computers
cannot solve and solve problems much faster in reasonable amounts of time. ... Show more content on

Political theorist Niccolò Machiavelli s, The Prince , exemplifies an early depiction of several modern
ideological principles that would sustain and preserve nations (especially after the separation of the

Gaap Or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Are Set
GAAP or Generally Accepted Accounting Principles are set by the Financial Accounting Standards

framework and GAAP allows for uniformity among companies. However, there are differences in

Target will need to review their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to determine if it can
handle the change to IFRS from GAAP. Since different accounting practices may need to be adopted
as it pertains to fixed assets, R D, leases, among others the ERP system may need to be changed.
Another consideration would be whether they will need to maintain two sets of records. If this is a
requirement needed, they will have resources tied up to maintain. An IFRS financial statement looks
different than GAAP. One may not realize these changes but there is less information on the IFRS
statements however there are more notes.
With all this information and much more to consider Target does not have the appropriate team in

experts on IFRS to lead the team.

The Nfl Is Exempt From Paying Taxes
As of 2014, the NFL operates as a non profit organization the NFL is exempt from paying taxes.
However, even though the Carolina Panthers is under the NFL, it is operating as a for profit business
(Patrick Doyle 2014). Therefore, like all for profit businesses, the Panthers should ideally generate a
profitable income to continue operating. As a result, the Panthers financial health or future earnings is
a quantitative criteria we included in our recommendation.
In 2013, the Panthers not only generated $283 million in revenue but also incurred over $150 million
in costs (Statista 2014). Due to the Panthers amazing playoffs in the previous years, Forbes Valuation

incident will directly reduce the above mentioned revenue sources.
Greg Hardy s Effect on Panthers Sponsorships
Ever since Greg Hardy s recent domestic violence incident, most of the Panthers major corporate
sponsors (Bank of America, PepsiCo, MillerCoors, Carolinas Medical Center, Anheuser Busch InBev,
and U.S. Airways) issued their statements of disapproval and urged the team to address this issue
appropriately.
Although Erik Spanberg and Adam O Daniel (2014) stated that none of the Panthers financial
sponsors will likely pull away from their donations, these major corporate sponsors don t want to
further tarnish their reputation with the NFL s bad publicity. Nonetheless, if a NFL s future decision
regarding domestic violence, a widely debated topic in the NFL, generates more negative publicity,
these major corporations are willing to stop sponsoring their teams. For example, due to the Adrian
Peterson s famous domestic violence and child abuse case, major sponsor Nike issued the following
statement:
Nike in no way condones child abuse or domestic violence of any kind and has shared our concerns
with the NFL. We have suspended our contract with Adrian Peterson (Molly Geary 2014).

The Financial Challenges Of Educational Debt
50% of all American s live each month paycheck to paycheck and 75% of American s are living with
debt, whether it s a mortgage, credit cards or medical bills. Debt is immune to racial, age and income
barriers and can affect anyone. On average these Americans have less than $1000 in their savings,
rather than the recommended 6 months worth of income saved up. If they are lucky, they barely have
enough income to cover the bills, unfortunately it is likely there is not even enough income for that.

Lacking sufficient income to pay down debts after monthly bills are taken care of, will lead to
unnecessary payments towards interest and fees. Increasing positive cash flow will help to decrease
and pay down debt balances, while focusing your money efficiently. Finally, abusing their credit and
ruining their credit score can lead to bad loans and high interest rates. Ceasing to accrue additional
debt and understanding one s credit score will allow one to quickly pay off debts, use credit wisely
and gain better interest rates. By using smart money management skills and increasing their financial
literacy, they can get rid of debilitating debt and gain financial freedom.

Money management skills are not part of the regular curriculum taught in schools, and as the
population ages, more and more American s are finding themselves deeper in debt. The younger
generations can no longer gain these skills at home, and they too struggle with the same financial
woes as their parents (Scheper, 2017). By increasing their financial literacy through self education,
they can gain these skills. An important tool that will help is to draw up a spending plan, or budget. A
budget is a plan that raises awareness of spending habits, and gives a roadmap that will help to reach
financial goals. It will help to track income and expenses to increase positive

The agricultural policy for Nigeria, (Federal Ministry of Agriculture, 1987) outlined the traditional
contribution expected of Nigerian agriculture. They include the provision of adequate food, a source
of employment, foreign exchange, raw materials for domestic industries and the provision of a market
for the product of the industrial sector. The contribution of agriculture to food supply could be
measured indirectly via the volume as well as the value of food imports (Ihimodu, 1993). He also
noted that a direct measure of food production is difficult because of lack of adequate statistical data.
It has always been claimed that the agricultural sector supplied most of the food needs of the economy
especially before and during the 1950s and 1960s. In recent times however, there has been some
concern that there exists a widening gap between domestic food supply and total food requirements.
Some studies have shown that while the demand for food has been growing at about 3.5% per annum,
food production has been growing only at about 2.5% per annum (Agricultural Policy for Nigeria,
1987: 12). This has led to a significant increase in food imports both in absolute terms as well as in
relative to the total import bill. To a large extent, the absolute value of import had risen overtime, as
had the proportion of food in the total import bill. Generally, before 1974 the food bill constituted less
than 10% of total

Government, Media, Censorship and Terrorism Perhaps We Can t Handle the Truth
Government and media influencing each other is a tender ethical situation. Initially, it seems simply
appalling that any government would either censor or use its media as a tool, but considering the
possible benefits of such acts makes the issue more complex. What if censorship saves lives? What if
manipulating the media brings a resolution to a conflict?
Wartime especially brings these questions to the forefront. When peoples lives are at stake, often
standard rules of morality must either be reconsidered or suspended. Wartime is also the only situation
in which the government could get the support of such practices from a constituency with a ... Show

A public outrage would follow such an action.
Yet, the American public is not opposed to such manipulation in other
countries, especially non Western and third world nations. James Adams
even writes that the US and UK leaked false stories into the Middle East
to build anti Saddam sentiment. These countries, like Saudi Arabia and
Kuwait, are allies. But, as Adams points out, we can reason this
deception as strategic vision. This practice is very telling of the
sociological phenomenon in America of indirectly viewing the non western
world as lesser people. It is a complete lack of respect for their
free thinking, and a measure that Americans would be incensed about if
it was committed towards them.
To a limited extent media manipulation is used even against Americans,
if not by directly doctoring the news that is presented to the country.
When false reports came out of soldiers in Bosnia killing babies, the
President still made references to the incident, although there existed
no evidence to support it. This type of media manipulation is a way of
saying that giving the public full and accurate information is a
hindrance to the war effort, that winning them over with propaganda is
more important to a successful military effort, which may be true.
Censorship is another similar issue. The word itself sends off warning signals, and flashes of fascism.
The Western populous tends to oppose

Moody s keeps Australia s triple A credit rating despite rising debt Moody s Investors Service decided

##cietal Values In Society In Amy Poehler s Writing Is Hard
In today s society, people often tend to shift towards the societal norms and don t ever want to be
pushed out of their comfort zone. While many people write about the struggles with these situations,
two authors seem to do a great job at explaining it in their own lives. In Amy Poehler s preface,
Writing is Hard, and in Tina Fey s excerpt Bossypants, they both describe what it s like to live with the
difficulties and demands of today s society with Poehler s being more from the work side and Fey s
being from the beauty side. While both write about overcoming society s mindset and believing in
yourself in the two perspectives they present, Fey seems to do a more detailed and thought out job
with the writing in Chapter three: All Girls Must Be Everything that more people can relate to.
Furthermore, the two comedians do a great job trying to appeal to their specific audience; however,
Tina Fey seems to find more strength in it than Poehler. Poehler and Fey are both well known for their
comedic work and acting abilities in the society meaning they have the credibility to talk about such
topics they discuss in their excerpts, but Tina Fey appears to use her fame status more to her
advantage. She writes about teaching girls that they are all beautiful no matter what the standards are
people tend to get from the media. For example, in Fey s excerpt from her book, Bossypants, she tells
her readers of her personal story with experiencing body awareness for the first time. Fey states in her
excerpt from chapter three of Bossypants, One afternoon a girl walked by in a bikini and my cousin
Janet scoffed, Look at the hips on her. I panicked. What about the hips? Were they too big? Too small?
What were my hips? Fey later shares her story about her daughter noticing the standards for hair color
by saying, When I asked her why she didn t like Snow White, she told me, I don t like her hair. Not
even three years old, she knew that yellow hair is king (Bossypants). This proves to the audience that
not only is dealing with body image a problem now with the younger generation, but, also, before Tina
Fey even rose to fame. She is able to appeal to the readers emotions by using her young daughter s

The Effects Of The Birth Of Twins
In 2011, every 1 in 82 births was the birth of twins. In the past two decades, the incidence of twin
births raised from 2.2% in 1992 to 3.8% in 2008 (Multiple Births Canada 1). This means that the birth
of twins is on the rise. Twins pregnancies are considered high risk and can cause many complications
for mother and babies. After the twins are born there are many challenges parents face to provide for
each baby with an adequate amount of attention to create a bond, especially during the first year. This
paper outlines some of the short term stressors associated with having twins such as effects on the

1). Many studies have documented elevated parental stress and psychological distress following the
birth of a preterm baby or low birth weight baby, which is common when it comes to the birth of
twins. Parental stress is often self reported and described as chronic, acute or situational. Many
mothers worry about financials, the individuality of the twins and their impact on the other family
members (Harvey, Regender, and Denny 30). Social support is the most important coping resource for
parents of premature infants because it has been shown to lessen the impacts of stress (Lutz et al. 644).
Social support can be defined as having one s needs met through the presence and interaction with
others, such as spouses, family members or friends (Lutz et al. 644). Support from family members is
more prominent in the lives of twins than in single babies because not all mothers are willing or able
to care for twins on their own. Occasionally social support from family does not always give mothers
proper bonding time with each twin. This is because one twin is always handed off to another person
while the other stays with the mother. This again may have a negative impact on the bonding of child
and mother during the first year (Piontelli 79). With the right social support mothers and families can
easily make it through the first year of the twins lives and relieve the short term

people, in my opinion, the majority of the people don t know what is in the food products they buy but
purchase these food products anyhow. I, myself being one of the people that don t always know what
is in the food products I purchase. After listening to the TED Talks and reading articles from Food
Matters, my opinion of what can be considered real food has drastically changed. Although I already
spend most of my time in the peripheries of the market, I do not spend all of my time there so I would
like to challenge myself to following one of Michael Pollan s rules and plan to shop the peripheries of
the supermarket and stay out of the middle (15). I am currently in charge of all the cooking and food
shopping for my family so I feel a huge responsibility to try to find healthy food for my family to eat.
I did not grow with healthy food and I wanted that to change now that I have a family of my own. I try
to keep my son active in our trips to the market by having him pick out at least one fruit and one
vegetable that he would like for that week as well as helping me pick healthy snacks that he can take
to school. I have a hope that in asking him to help me make healthy choices now, will help for him to
make the same healthy choices later in life. I try my best to have all of our meals home cooked which
is second on Wendell Berry s list which states to Prepare your own

American Sniper And The Hurt Locker
American Sniper/The Hurt Locker
War movies have always been an American classic. With cinematography, actors, and exposure a film
can either be a hit, or fall short. The film American Sniper, is based off of the novel by the same name,
reflecting the life of Navy Seal Chris Kyle. Following the release of the novel, Clint Eastwood took
the director s chair and adapted the novel, to the big screen. Although American Sniper became a
worldwide hit, another movie, The Hurt Locker, came years before it. Directed by award winning
Kathryn Bigelow, The Hurt Locker is based on fictionalized characters reflecting the experiences of an
Explosive Ordinance Disposal team. While both films are remarkable in many ways, The Hurt Locker

With a seemingly reckless leader, a protocol following team mate, and pessimistic, depressed young
man, this trio of actors brings a dynamic on screen that works almost only in chaos. The characters
seem to contradict each other, most notably in the two leaders played by Mackie and Renner. In the
beginning of the film it seems as if the existing team that Renner s character is put into, hate how he s
seemingly uncontrollable and reckless. The three actors bring a true portrayal of being a soldier during
war. Bradley Cooper s portrayal of Chris Kyle in American Sniper won him various awards in 2015.
Cooper even went as far as changing his physical body to better fit Chris Kyle. The movie is solely
based around the one man, as it is from the novel. Although American Sniper received more awards
for the actors, it just doesn t show as much dynamic with more than one main

Social Media sInfluence On Human Interaction In today s society, social media has caused us to demote human interaction and reward imitation connections and communications, making it hinder us from maintaining close personal relationships. We would rather talk to someone over the screen then over coffee, and only identify the worthy aspects of our life and disregard the undesirable. This want and desire through social media for a false persona and false ties gives us an aesthetic good life , but ultimately hinders us from reaching a genuine good life . Social media has replaced most human to human interaction, leading to decreased physical and mental abilities, making some lives less desirable. In Robert Waldingers TED Talk, The Harvard Study of Adult Development, his second lesson learned was that people who are more socially connected to family and friends are happier, physically healthier, and live longer. When this study took place, social media had not yet been revealed, leaving them with minimal options on how to communicate with people. Social media has changed the way that individuals interact, and in a sense, humans themselves. We find ourselves conversing more and more over social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat, but when faced with actually face to face contact, are found speechless. With this new technology, more and more are likely to not become as connected to friends and family as the subjects were in the study, decreasing their overall happiness and hindering society. The Fisher family just moved in here to Lake Windsor from Houston Texas. The scenery was not what Paul had expected at all, and I stared out the window, fascinated by it. We passed mile after mile of green fields overflowing with tomatoes and onions and watermelons. I suddenly had this crazy feeling like I wanted to bolt from the car and run through the fields until I couldn t run any more. I said to Mom, This is Florida? This is what it looks like? Mom laughed. Yeah. What did you think it looked like? I don t know. A beach with a fifty story condo on it. Well, it looks like that, too. Florida is a huge place. Instead of adapting business operations to the Japanese culture, the company essentially assumed the Japanese would readily adjust to Wal Mart s. For example, in Japan there is a much larger need for local store customization. Consumer buyer behavior is much different than in the United States, with purchasing patterns and product selection varying greatly between regions. Critical Review ofUndaunted Courage Critical Review of Undaunted Courage Stephen Ambrose s Undaunted Courage is a remarkable piece of nonfiction literature. His work is so thorough that one wonders how he has time to do much more. Yet he has created time in his life to go west and go camping and hiking and canoeing in the summers with his family. Which possibly shows that anything can be raw material to the open mind, for it was on those trips that he developed a great fascination with the Lewis and Clark expedition that explored the West when the country was twenty five years old. Ambrose creates a precise and true story of the expedition in witch most readers would be enthralled. His style is smooth, readable and enjoyable, unlike many historical nonfiction of the day. ... I was placed with Walton County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and started working with them in the last week of September. The transition from the classroom to the field has been smooth with my classes having equipped me for the field work I have already done and hopefully for the field work to come. While the transition from classroom to field has been smooth, it has been drastically different working with DFCS from reading in textbooks and class lectures. At my field placement, I have been able to interact with clients and get to know them on a first name basis. Meeting real clients has been fascinating. Not only do I get to learn about what is going on in their lives, I also get to learn about how they feel about it, what they think about it, and see their expressions and emotions as they relay this information to me. Face to face interaction with a client is unlike anything that can be gathered from a textbook. We have textbooks that give scenarios and scripted interviews, but a book is never able to fully capture the same experience as when you actually talk to a client. Even if a client s problem(s) may not be that interesting I find it captivating to speak with someone and learn about what they are going through, then to read about worst situation possible scenarios for clients in ... Behavioral And ContextualFactors That Affect The Females... Besides stereotype threats, there is also a group of behavioral and contextual factors which affect the females and minority students career choices. These individual differences affect the adolescent s potential outcome in STEM. These differences are also supported by two theories which also can explain the results of career choice. First is the theory from Lent, Brown, Hacket (1994,2000) called the social cognitive career theory (SCCT) which emphasizes self efficacy as well as its link to the likely outcome of choosing a specific path, interests, goals, and the interaction of these attitudes with relevant contextual variables and individual difference (Else Quest et. all, 2013). This theory is rooted in Bandura s 1986 self efficacy theory. A more recent theory which also supports the link of self efficacy to the outcomes of academic and vocational pursuits is Eccles expectancy value theory. This theory maintains that achievement behaviors are the product of an individual s expectations for success and the perceived value of the behavior (Else Quest et all, 2013). Stereotype threats about the affected adolescence s math and science abilities are transmitted by their parents and teachers which leads to negative attitudes being shaped and these beliefs shaping the performance and overall interest in STEM fields. It is the environmental cues which make the negative stereotypes salient (Sharpio Williams, 2011). Many aspects of the adolescents environment such as, parent ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Database Management SystemFor A Company A research database management system (RDBMS) is the most used database management system for a company. Its roots date back to 1970, created by E.F. Codd at IBM. The database approach involves the storage of data involving tables. Attributes of the tables involve rows, used as a record of an entity. Columns, also attributes of the table, determine what will be recorded for that field. Within a table one primary key will be found, this represents a unique column of the table. A table may also have a foreign key, there can be more than one, and it identifies a primary key of another table. Foreign keys allow for relationships between tables to be created. The RDBMS is so widely used because of its simplicity to understand relationships between data. The data can also be analyzed in many ways using queries, reports, etc. A database management system covers all functions of the business and is essential for businesses to be run efficiently. Since the introduction of this time of database management system in 1970 it has triumphed many former types of widely used databases and fended off new types of databases to remain the most common type. Times have changed in the information technology world since 1970 when IBM was running the show and leading the world with improving and introducing new technology. Alexander IIi OfMacedonia Truly Worthy Of The Title Essay Was Alexander III of Macedonia really worthy of the title Great or was he just a megalomaniac conditioned into this belief by his followers? Well, if you consider his military legacy which is almost as large as the swath of territory he conquered spanning from modern day Greece to northern India, or the fact that his over 2,000 year old combat tactics are still being taught at military academies the world over, I don t believe the word great would be too far from imagination. When Alexander rose to power following the death of his father, Phillip II, his kingdom of Macedonia encompassed all of the land that we know as modern Greece. For Alexander this was not enough. How Candidiasis IsA Fungal Infection Caused By Yeasts Candidiasis: Overview and Causes Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by yeasts that belong to the genus Candida. There are at least 15 distinct Candida species that cause human disease, but 90% of invasive disease is caused by the 5 most common pathogens, C. albicans, C. glabrata, C. tropicalis, C. parapsilosis, and C. krusei with candida albicans being the most prevalent.(Ostrosky Zeichner et al., 2015) Candida yeasts normally reside in the intestinal tract and can be found on mucous membranes and skin without causing infection; however, overgrowth of these organisms can cause symptoms to develop. Symptoms of candidiasis vary depending on the area of the body that is infected.(CDC, 2016e) The different types of Candidiasis are determined by the area of the body they affect. Oropharyngeal candidiasis, otherwise known as Thrush, inhabits the buccal cavity or throat. Candidiasis of the vagina is commonly referred to as a yeast infection. The most clinically significant version of candidiasis is invasive candidiasis, which happens as a result of a candida species entering the bloodstream and spreading throughout the body. Invasive candidiasis is primarily found in immunocompromised patients such as those suffering from HIV, undergoing corticosteroid therapy, chemotherapy, or those with diabetes. Donald Trump Qualities Asmany may have seen on the news over the past few months, Donald Trump has announced entrance into the 2016 presidential race. Donald Trump would make a good president because of his successful business tactics. Over Donald s career as a real estate agent and entrepreneur, he has become a billionaire and as of today he is worth over $4 billion according to Forbes.com. The first thing one may ask is what some of the qualifications to become President are and does Mr. Trump meet them? According to Article II, Section I, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution, there are three requirements to become President of the United States. First, the President must be a natural born U.S. citizen. Second, the candidate must have been a resident for fourteen years in the United States. Finally, the President must be at least 35 years of age or older. This boldness would be helpful when dealing with a situation when the House and the Senate do not agree. Whether it s the ignorance of the machines still working for their masters, (who are currently burned into the outer walls of the house from nuclear hellfire) or the Soma addicted civilians of London. They both tell of a world completely corrupted. Brave New World tells the story of a corrupted government brainwashing its people a mental corruption. While There Will Come Soft Rains tells of a psychical corruption with the remnants of a nuclear holocaust. The people of London see their twisted society filled with cloning, lies, and a government who (unlike wishing for it, like real world governments) have complete and total control over the civilians lives. Economical Economic uncertainty, high unemployment rate (8.9% in March 2005), and increasing fuel price characterized the European economic environment. Therefore a gain in volume of mini cars sells is likely to occur, as these cars are cheaper. Moreover, emerging markets are booming and eager to possess Western cars. I Know ThisMuch Is True Sparknotes Book Review: I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb. Its not just a book it s a life experience These are the words of Oprah Winfrey as she heavily promoted Wally Lamb s latest novel following his best seller; She s Come Undone. Oprah, clearly an undeniable fan of Wally Lamb s works trumpeted her review of She s Come Undone to her audience in 1997. Now she has returned to promote I Know This Much is True which no doubt will captivate her followers. Being a loyal Oprah fan myself, I have seen it my place to read and analyze I know this much is true and see whether or not it lives up to its already outstanding reviews. Nothing could compare to what I would come across while following the depressing yet captivating life of Dominic and Thomas. Set in 20th Century America, this novel follows the eventful life of narrator Dominic as he struggles with himself as well as being responsible for his schizophrenic twin brother Thomas. Dominic Birdsey s entire life has been compromised and conflicted by anger, fear, his brother and his passed. Throughout his life, Lamb unflinchingly explores dysfunctional families, mental illness, forgiveness and domestic abuse. As well as this, Wally Lamb s deeply moving story brings together some of humanities greatest fears, our fear of loneliness, our desire for love and acceptance and our struggle to survive at all costs. I bit daunted by the size of this 900 page novel, I was intrigued by the cover image of two fetus s in the womb as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why Eddie VanHalen is an Influential Musician Essay There are certain musicians that come along that shift a culture, attitude, or future musicians. Another musician that went on influence future generations and considered one of the greatest guitar players in the world is Eddie Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen was born in Holland in 1955 and immigrated to Pasadena California. At the age of seven, Eddie was training as a classical pianist, although his love for Rock and Roll was developing. He started working a paper route and used the money to buy a drum set. His brother Alex, also musically inclined, bought a guitar. After months of practicing, Alex and Eddie switched instruments. He suggested that they let David Lee Roth be the front man, mainly to save the rent money on the PA system. David Lee came on board and thought the brother s last name sounded cool, and the rock group Van Halen was born. On one particular show, Gene Simmons from Kiss caught Van Halen at the local gig. He offered to help them out. Gene Simmons flew Van Halen to New York to tape a demo and introduced them to the Kiss production management. They had no interest in Van Halen citing that there was no commercial value to Van Halen, so the band went back to their local gigs in California. During a show in Hollywood, Warner Brothers records representative Ted Templeman saw their act and signed them less than a week later for a record deal with the Warner brother s label. They headed out on the road immediately and caught up with Warner Brothers headliners to open their shows. The other groups were not very pleased with the band, especially when Van Halen started getting better reviews. Van Halen was then off to England to open for another band that Eddie idolized, Black Sabbath. Ozzie was so impressed with the band that he admitted that Van Halen was outplaying Sabbath. At least that is what Ozzie said according to the Van Halen camp. Van Halen went on to record 26 albums in their career with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The agricultural policy for Nigeria, (Federal Ministry of Agriculture, 1987) outlined the traditional contribution expected of Nigerian agriculture. They include the provision of adequate food, a source of employment, foreign exchange, raw materials for domestic industries and the provision of a market for the product of the industrial sector. The contribution of agriculture to food supply could be measured indirectly via the volume as well as the value of food imports (Ihimodu, 1993). He also noted that a direct measure of food production is difficult because of lack of adequate statistical data. It has always been claimed that the agricultural sector supplied most of the food needs of the economy especially before and during the 1950s and 1960s. In recent times however, there has been some concern that there exists a widening gap between domestic food supply and total food requirements. Some studies have shown that while the demand for food has been growing at about 3.5% per annum, food production has been growing only at about 2.5% per annum (Agricultural Policy for Nigeria, 1987: 12). This has led to a significant increase in food imports both in absolute terms as well as in relative to the total import bill. To a large extent, the absolute value of import had risen overtime, as had the proportion of food in the total import bill. Generally, before 1974 the food bill constituted less than 10% of total ... Government, Media, Censorship and Terrorism Perhaps We Can t Handle the Truth Government and media influencing each other is a tender ethical situation. Initially, it seems simply appalling that any government would either censor or use its media as a tool, but considering the possible benefits of such acts makes the issue more complex. What if censorship saves lives? What if manipulating the media brings a resolution to a conflict? Wartime especially brings these questions to the forefront. Moody s keeps Australia s triple A credit rating despite rising debt Moody s Investors Service decided to keep Australia s AAA credit rating in August this year in the belief that it will be able to tough through a shaky economic environment in future. There were concerns that the credit rating would be lowered, as government debt is expected to rise above 40%, and the terms of trade has fallen, creating a larger CAD, and in turn NFD. However, they are confident in Australia s ability to repay at around 4.5% of government revenues, with growth in some sectors, and GDP expected to grow, so the debt burden sits quite comfortably with similarly rated economies. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016 09 06/gdp likely to push higher as government spending outweighs/7819416 GDP likely to push higher as government spending outweighs disappointing trade result Trade contribution to GDP has been disappointing, but government spending at 20.4BN in the June quarter encouraged JP Morgan to raise GDP forecast to 0.6%, leaving annual GDP growth at a steady 3.4%. ##cietal Values InSociety In Amy Poehler s Writing Is Hard In today s society, people often tend to shift towards the societal norms and don t ever want to be pushed out of their comfort zone. While many people write about the struggles with these situations, two authors seem to do a great job at explaining it in their own lives. In Amy Poehler s preface, Writing is Hard, and in Tina Fey s excerpt Bossypants, they both describe what it s like to live with the difficulties and demands of today s society with Poehler s being more from the work side and Fey s being from the beauty side. While both write about overcoming society s mindset and believing in yourself in the two perspectives they present, Fey seems to do a more detailed and thought out job with the writing in Chapter three: All Girls Must Be Everything that more people can relate to. Furthermore, the two comedians do a great job trying to appeal to their specific audience; however, Tina Fey seems to find more strength in it than Poehler. Poehler and Fey are both well known for their comedic work and acting abilities in the society meaning they have the credibility to talk about such topics they discuss in their excerpts, but Tina Fey appears to use her fame status more to her advantage. She writes about teaching girls that they are all beautiful no matter what the standards are people tend to get from the media. For example, in Fey s excerpt from her book, Bossypants, she tells her readers of her personal story with experiencing body awareness for the first time. Fey states in her excerpt from chapter three of Bossypants, One afternoon a girl walked by in a bikini and my cousin Janet scoffed, Look at the hips on her. I panicked. What about the hips? Were they too big? Too small? What were my hips? Fey later shares her story about her daughter noticing the standards for hair color by saying, When I asked her why she didn t like Snow White, she told me, I don t like her hair. Not even three years old, she knew that yellow hair is king (Bossypants). This proves to the audience that not only is dealing with body image a problem now with the younger generation, but, also, before Tina Fey even rose to fame. In the past two decades, the incidence of twin births raised from 2.2% in 1992 to 3.8% in 2008 (Multiple Births Canada 1). This means that the birth of twins is on the rise. Twins pregnancies are considered high risk and can cause many complications for mother and babies. After the twins are born there are many challenges parents face to provide for each baby with an adequate amount of attention to create a bond, especially during the first year. This paper outlines some of the short term stressors associated with having twins such as effects on the mother, father, other children in the family and how they can cope with the stress. Many studies have documented elevated parental stress and psychological distress following the birth of a preterm baby or low birth weight baby, which is common when it comes to the birth of twins. Parental stress is often self reported and described as chronic, acute or situational. Many mothers worry about financials, the individuality of the twins and their impact on the other family members (Harvey, Regender, and Denny 30). Social support is the most important coping resource for parents of premature infants because it has been shown to lessen the impacts of stress (Lutz et al. 644). Social support can be defined as having one s needs met through the presence and interaction with others, such as spouses, family members or friends (Lutz et al. 644). This again may have a negative impact on the bonding of child and mother during the first year (Piontelli 79). With the right social support mothers and families can easily make it through the first year of the twins lives and relieve the short term ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Food ProductsBy Michael Pollan While most the food products that are out in the market today can barely be considered food to some people, in my opinion, the majority of the people don t know what is in the food products they buy but purchase these food products anyhow. I, myself being one of the people that don t always know what is in the food products I purchase. After listening to the TED Talks and reading articles from Food Matters, my opinion of what can be considered real food has drastically changed. Although I already spend most of my time in the peripheries of the market, I do not spend all of my time there so I would like to challenge myself to following one of Michael Pollan s rules and plan to shop the peripheries of the supermarket and stay out of the middle (15). I am currently in charge of all the cooking and food shopping for my family so I feel a huge responsibility to try to find healthy food for my family to eat. I did not grow with healthy food and I wanted that to change now that I have a family of my own. I try to keep my son active in our trips to the market by having him pick out at least one fruit and one vegetable that he would like for that week as well as helping me pick healthy snacks that he can take to school. I have a hope that in asking him to help me make healthy choices now, will help for him to make the same healthy choices later in life. I try my best to have all of our meals home cooked which is second on Wendell Berry s list which states to Prepare your own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With a seemingly reckless leader, a protocol following team mate, and pessimistic, depressed young man, this trio of actors brings a dynamic on screen that works almost only in chaos. The characters seem to contradict each other, most notably in the two leaders played by Mackie and Renner. In the beginning of the film it seems as if the existing team that Renner s character is put into, hate how he s seemingly uncontrollable and reckless. The three actors bring a true portrayal of being a soldier during war. Bradley Cooper s portrayal of Chris Kyle in American Sniper won him various awards in 2015. Cooper even went as far as changing his physical body to better fit Chris Kyle. The movie is solely based around the one man, as it is from the novel. Although American Sniper received more awards for the actors, it just doesn t show as much dynamic with more than one main ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
