Essay On People
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay On People" presents a unique set of challenges that go
beyond the usual considerations of grammar, structure, and coherence. The difficulty lies in the
vastness and complexity of the subject matter itself – people. The sheer diversity of human
experiences, perspectives, and behaviors makes it a formidable task to encapsulate the essence of
humanity in a single piece of writing.
To begin with, defining the scope becomes a daunting task. People encompass a wide array of
cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, and histories. Attempting to cover this vast spectrum within the
confines of an essay requires careful selection and focus, making it challenging to do justice to
the richness and diversity inherent in humanity.
Moreover, delving into the intricacies of individual lives and societal dynamics demands a
nuanced approach. Balancing the general with the specific, and the profound with the mundane,
adds another layer of complexity. The challenge is not only to present a comprehensive picture
but also to do so in a way that captures the reader's attention and fosters a genuine understanding
of the subject.
Furthermore, the dynamic nature of human existence poses a constant challenge. Societal norms,
cultural paradigms, and individual perspectives are ever-evolving. Trying to encapsulate these
changes within the static confines of an essay requires not only a keen awareness of current
trends but also the ability to predict and reflect on future developments.
As a writer, navigating the ethical considerations related to portraying individuals and groups
with respect and sensitivity is another intricate aspect. Striking a balance between objectivity and
empathy, avoiding stereotypes, and recognizing the inherent dignity in each person adds an
ethical dimension to the writing process.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Essay On People" is a formidable task that
demands a delicate balance of breadth and depth, sensitivity to the evolving nature of humanity,
and a commitment to ethical representation. It is a journey that requires not just linguistic skill
but a profound understanding of the complexities inherent in the human experience.

Men Sculptures From Ancient Art
Men sculptures from Ancient Art The mini exhibition will center on ancient art
found in the Rome and Greece, and will mainly focus on male sculptures from that
area. History dates that the civilization of man began in the Rome hence their
advancement of art is especially important as well. The rulers of the time
appreciated the art built regardless of its structure. The artist was strict on the
appearance and representation of the sculpture. Their attention to detail makes
them unique and interesting. Every art form has a history behind it and a reason
for its creation. The three arts picked have a rich history of some of the great arts
of the time. Apart from that, it shows how similar art works was carved from time
to time. The Lansdowne Herakles is the centerpiece of the mini exhibition. It is a
sculpture of a Greek god with a club in his hands. On his right hand, he has the skin
of a lion. It gives a glimpse of what the man could be. He seems like a hunter or a
warrior. He put center of gravity on his right leg, his left leg is slightly bend,
making a pose called Contrapposto or the Chiatic pose, the pose gives a very
natural and vivid look. There s no emotion on his face, and the well built body
consists with today s appreciation of beauty for men, This sculpture seems to
epitomize the ideal male human form at that time. All of the body parts seem
perfectly proportioned and the muscles are beautifully defined. However, his facial

In recent times, automakers have advanced cooling systems far enough with new
coolant formulas and radiator designs that make them even better. The chief goal of a
cooling system involves keeping the engine cool through the mitigation of heat to the
outside. The water pump circulates the coolant, and this lowers the heat of the engine.
An engine cooling system will also feature a thermostat. This vehicle part regulates
the cooling temperature, and it helps with the consistency of the engine. Factors to

Questions On Parliamentary Sovereignty Of The Uk...
Module: Law
Component: assignment 2
Percentage of final module grade: 20%
The development of the EU has slowly eroded the sovereignty of the UK Parliament
Student Number: 1546031
Word Count:
Parliamentary Sovereignty is the concept that Parliament is the supreme legal
authority in the United Kingdom. Kellerman, M. G. (2011) argues that since the
United Kingdom unlike most other countries does not have a codified constitution to
restrict the powers of the Parliament, the main check on power of the British
Parliament is the sovereignty of the future parliaments. The European Union has been
growing since its establishment and its growth has been considered a threat to the
Parliamentary Sovereignty of the UK, since their joining of the EU in 1973. This
essay will showcase the treaties, institutions, cases, and acts that have eroded the
sovereignty of the UK Parliament and will conclude that the development of the EU
will only further reduce the power of Parliamentary Sovereignty as long as the
United Kingdom stays a member of the EU.
Britain has sacrificed power to treaties since the end of World War 2 in order for
better relations with foreign countries, these treaties and others developed into what
is now known as the European Union. Perhaps the most significant of these treaties
is the Treaty of Rome (1957). The UK conceded to this treaty in 1972 and for the
first time European Law was given power in the UK through an act of the UK

formation of a valid contract explain (P1.1) A contract will be enforceable if it can
satisfy some basic conditions. These type conditions are known as elements of
essential for a valid contract. Every legal contract satisfies these conditions. Without
satisfying these conditions a contract can t be acceptable. That s why for the
formation of a legal contract satisfying the essential elements is very important. The
importance of the essential elements to be a good agreement is described below:

contract, some criteria of written agreement and some criteria of verbal agreement

called a verbal contract. No legal documents are kept for this type of contracts.
Every type of contract has some impacts. In this section, I have mentioned some
impacts of a written contract: Not difficult to keep in mind Not difficult to

Mixture: In this type of contract, there are also some possibility of confusion and
error. So a written agreement is the best of all agreements. After all I can say that,
since written agreement possesses some especial criteria, everybody should use this
form of contract. 1.3 With reference to their meaning and effect, analyse the terms in

The Open Boat Courage
Albert Einstein once said, A human being is a part of the whole called by us
universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts
and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his
consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our
personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be
to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace
all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. In The Open Boat, four
young men battle the nature of the sea. Fighting for their lives, they lose sight of the
beauty of nature. In To Build a Fire, a man and his dog are traveling through the

It is preposterous. If this old ninny woman, Fate, cannot do better than this, she
should be deprived of the management of men s fortunes. She is an old hen who
knows not her intention. If she has decided to drown me, why did she not do it in
the beginning and save me all this trouble (996). The men do not understand why
they should drown, simply because they have made it this far. It is said, The story
meditates on these questions further when the correspondent comes to the conviction
that nature does not care about his personal fate. Nature s indifference cannot,
however, take away the correspondent s own sense of his ineluctable importance:
Unimportant though he may be, he loves himself (Bayless, Martha). This verifies
the fact that nature is capable of anything, yet she can not take away the love the
correspondent has for himself. As they continue their journey, nature continues to
change and the night approaches. It says, A faint yellow tone came into the sky
over the low land. The shadows on the sea slowly deepened. The wind bore
coldness with it, and the men began to shiver (998). As the darkness draws near,
along comes colder water. The water was extremely frigid to the men, it even made
them curse. The spray, when it dashed
The Gatorade Sports Drink Company
The Gatorade sports drink was founded in 1965 by a group of university physicians
at University of Florida after an assistant coached asked the why his football players
were so affected by the heat. This lead to the discovery and invention of a
carbohydrate and electrolyte drink to help replenish and refuel the nutrients lost
through sweat and exercise. The University of Florida s mascot is the Gator, which is
how they came up with the name Gatorade. PepsiCo acquired Gatorade in 2001.
Gatorade also has a 69.5% market share in sports drinks. PepsiCo has 6 divisions,
North American Beverages, Frito Lay North America, Quaker foods North
America, Latin America, Europe Sub Saharan Africa, and Asia, Middle East, North
Africa. Gatorade falls into the North American Beverages division. Within
Gatorades brand name there are a few product lines, The G Series, Endurance, and
Equipment lines. The sports drink is part of the G series which is based on three
steps, prime, perform, and recover and is part of the perform step.
Price
Starting out Gatorade was more of a premium pricing but that gave way to a
competitive pricing scheme after competition entered into the market.

International Law And National Levels
Introduction All through the most recent four decades, coordinated endeavours have
been taken by states at universal, local and national levels to address natural
difficulties postured far and wide. Amidst this period, global understandings have
been made running from the marine environment to space and from species
conservation to assurance of the ozone layer . In addition, the author peddled that this
period has additionally seen the foundation of new global establishments which have
reinforced endeavours towards tending to the difficulties postured by natural

Thereafter, the author will provide a critical analysis of the various laws and the
compliance and enforcement mechanisms available to discern whether or not they
are effective. The author of this essay shall subsequently conclude by arguing that
international environmental laws have not been very effective due to the non binding
nature of many of the procedures put in place. The Sources of International
Environmental Law and the Enforcement Mechanisms According to the author,
sources of international environmental law are essentially the same as those from
which all international law emanates , because international environmental law is
simply a branch of international law. The sources of law fall into two broad
categories, namely hard and soft law. The former are comprised of treaties
/ conventions, customary international law, case law, inter alia, and the latter soft law
are comprised of non binding declarations, codes, guidelines, or recommended
principles . The Establishment of International Environmental Law The author
predicates that, the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment (
UNCHE ) was established in 1972 with the purpose of establishing common
principles to inspire and guide the peoples of the world in the preservation and
enhancement of the human environment . Subsequently, the author posits that these
efforts were aimed at

Why Was Plane Manufacturing Important In Ww2
When my brother and I built the first man carrying flying machine we thought that
we were introducing into the world an invention which would make further wars
practically impossible. Orville Wright, 1917. Sadly this was not the case. Over the
span of World War II, because the technology was so new and could work well,
planes were used heavily and mercilessly and because of this, more than half a
million people died or were lost in combat. During the war, airplane manufacturing
was important to both the Axis and Allied powers. Various types of planes were
produced during the war for their different abilities and uses. During the war, plane
manufacturing was important to both the enemies and allies. Most manufacturing
plants were a main target for the enemies, and for the US, on missions. If the US
could take out manufacturers it would slow down the production of enemy planes
and give us an advantage. In terms of America s own production rates, they
skyrocketed in only 5 years. In less than 5 years aircraft manufacturing went from
41st place in America industries to first place, because of the war. Shadow factories
were a major idea that arose, mainly in Britain, to be able to meet the urgent need
for airplane parts. These factories were basically car factories, which helped make
airplane parts, and were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first design of the B 17 plane, was equipped with 4 engines, was capable of 200
to 250 mph, and could fly long distance with a 2,000 pound bomb load. The major
changes to the plane after the first model was produced were to it s armor and new
tail designs. Later, with newer versions they added more armament defenses, and a
chin turret under the nose of the plane. The B 17 is mostly known for its toughness
and ability to get through heavy flak and enemy fire, and carry the crew safely. The
plane can be cut and slashed almost to pieces by enemy fire and bring its crew home.

Analysis Of Like A Dog Chasing Car By Hans Zimmer
First Selection: I chose to start my first song, Like a Dog Chasing Car by Hans
Zimmer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox7S0Nttbh0) from the very
beginning and at 1:50:53 in the movie/ where he says hang him from the bridge . I
feel like this scene had an astonishing amount of tension and suspense. Rob Roy was
fighting for his life and as can be seen in the movie was willing to do anything to get
away. I thought the song conveyed that sense of running and tension that the movie
showed. In the song I chose, it starts out soft but has a crescendo as the music
continues. I thought this fit with the scene very well, because at first when Rob Roy
jumps off the bridge it is more surprising than suspenseful, but then as the scene
continues it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I wanted to show the sadness through a piece that everyone did not automatically
assume would be there, but did actually fit the scene. The piece is also polyphonic
because of the music behind the multiple voices. The tempo and the dynamics
really do not change a whole lot throughout the piece till near the very end. The
voices and the music all have a decrescendo and the tempo also slows down quite a
bit, this adds a good sense of ending to the piece. So I ended it at this point in the
song, 16:01 and this also leads into the next scene in the movie, so the song ends at
1:54:46 in the movie. The voices are in harmony at the beginning and it shows a
clashing of sound and they become unison by the end. This also shows the
winding down of both the scene and the movement, and after the movement there
is a slight cadence. Additionally, there is some dissonance between the voices that
add to the sense of wrong, bad, or just add a more dramatic tone. Third Selection:
The second piece starts 0:24 seconds into the song and 1:54:47/ when Mary is
lying in bed and sees Rob Roy for the first time. Rob Roy is beaten and clearly has
not seen Mary in a very long time. Mary is happy, but I get that the there is an
underlying theme of sadness, because of what Mary has to tell him. I wanted to show
the sadness, but also the happiness of them being reunited. The song Beethoven

Clean Water Act Protects Water
A Priceless Natural Resource Clean Water Water is necessary to sustain life. Water
not only sustains life, but it is the very foundation for life. Where does the water
we drink come from? Our water comes from many different sources such as
groundwater, lakes, rivers, reservoirs, aquifers, springs and streams. In order for
this water to sustain our life, it must be clean. Water is needed to meet the
demands of people in their everyday life. This includes the need for water in
homes, agriculture, industry, medicine and recreation. For health and prosperity
people must have access to clean, safe water. Water is regulated at the federal, state
and local level. The Clean Water Act protects water at the federal level. The
Environmental Protection Agency regulates the standards for contaminants in
water. In order for our water to be clean, we must protect our water sources from
pollution and contaminants. This is why we need to care for the water that we
have. Humans need water in order to survive. Our bodies are about 60 percent
water, the brain is about 70 percent water, and the lungs are made of 90 percent
water. Water is more important for you to survive than food is. When you become
dehydrated, it reduces the amount of blood flow in your body, and causes your heart
to work harder, and pump the blood faster. If you go long enough without water you
ll eventually enter into coma and die. You can also drink too much water. When you
drink too much water you can
Sex Roles and Gender Bias in Early Childhood Education...
Sex role stereotyping and gender bias permeate everyday life. Children learn about
sex roles very early in their lives, probably before they are 18 months old, certainly
long before they enter school.(Howe, 1). The behaviors that form these sex roles
often go unnoticed but their effect is immeasurable. Simple behaviors like: the
color coding of infants (blue pink), the toys children are given, the adjectives used
to describe infants (boys: handsome, big, strong; girls: sweet, pretty, precious), and
the way we speak to and hold them are but a few of the ways the sex rolesare
introduced. These behaviors provide the basis for the sex roles and future
encouragement from parents and teachers only reinforce the sex roles.

In literature research, the boys of children s books are active and capable, and the
girls passive and in trouble (Howe,2).
In a mental health study conducted by Inge K. Broverman at Worcester State
Hospital in Massachusetts, it was discovered that the qualities more considered
healthy were those that are stereotypically male behaviors. Women exhibiting these
socially desirable behaviors were; however, not considered healthy. Socially desirable
male behavior Includes: aggression, independence, logic, confidence and ambition.
Female behavior was passivity, dependence, cooth and empathy (Howe, 3). It has
also been observed that despite any noticeable differences, girls are provided with
fewer experiences even in kindergarten (Howe, 5). The junior high school and high
school programs further accentuate the sex roles. Courses such as shop,
metalworking, home economics and typing often have gender requirements (Howe,
6).
Another school arena for open sexual discrimination is physical education. The boys
are often given priority in terms of equipment, gym availability and funding for
athletic activities (Howe,6).
Howe continues to discover more and more ways

In 1953, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in physics and graduated from Reed College

device could be produced that is able to read sounds or any other information
without wearing it out and if he could make the binary compact enough he could

Bettelle let him pursue his project and in 1970, after years of work, he succeeded in
inventing the first digital to optical recording and playback system, the CD.
A CD is a simple round piece of plastic about 4/100ths of an inch thick, and 12
centimeters in diameter used for electronic recording, storing, and playback. Most of
a CD consists of an injection moulded piece of clear polycarbonate plastic. During
manufacturing, this plastic
is impressed with microscopic bumps arranged as a single, continuous, extremely
long spiral track of data circling from the inside of the disc to the outside. Once the
clear piece of polycarbonate is formed, a thin, reflective aluminum layer is put onto
the disc, covering the bumps. Then a thin acrylic layer is sprayed over the aluminum
to protect it, and the CD label is printed onto the acrylic. The compact disc was first
used for audio storage only, but are now used to store audio, video, text, and any
other information in digital form, and are able to hold 783 megabytes in all.

Job Proverbs, Ecclesiastes And
The books of Wisdom : Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs are
hugely different from the preceding books of history. They focus on raising questions
about God, creation itself, humanity and the essence of evil and suffering. In Job, we
see one of the most famous individuals in the Old Testament. His continual struggles
and trials cause him to call out to Godfor answers, and he receives one in Job 40:2
Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him?He who rebukes God,
let him answer it. It s hard to read of Job s suffering and crying out to God without
questioning why God would let him suffer, but it does show us the peace that can
be found in recognizing God s sovereignty. In Psalms, we see a collection of lyrical
poetry, songs and prayers. Many of these were written by King David himself. The
book covers almost the entire gamut of human emotion, from sorrow to joy, from
doubt to faith.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in Proverbs 10:4 5, we see that working hard will lead us to a better life,
but slacking off will cause us shame. In Ecclesiastes: we have Solomon s (generally
agreed upon to be the author) analysis of life. It seems cynical, but overall the
message of the book is hope in God. In Ecclesiastes 12:13 14 we get Solomon s
basic lesson to those who are seeking a full and abundant life Let us hear the
conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this
is man s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret
thing,Whether good or evil. In Song of Songs, we see another lyrical, poetic book.
This book is only one of two in the Bible that do not mention God directly. It gives us
an insight on how love, marriage and even sex are to be viewed and practiced in a
loving Christian home. Some people view this book as an allegorical view of Christ s

What Role Does Music Play In The Hobbit
When you turn on the radio, everybody that the sound can reach will typically
suggest to play their favorite band or genre of music.Whether it is alternative, punk
rock, or smooth jazz, music is something that everybody enjoys listening to. This is
no exception in the novel, The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. Music plays an important
role in this book where you frequently read songs sung by dwarves, elves, and
goblins. Although all of these magical beings sing songs that may look similar at first
glance, these tunes could not be more different! In chapter one of The Hobbit, thirteen
dwarves begin singing a song about an adventure over Misty Mountains and taking
back the gold and treasure that the evil dragon, Smaug, stole from the them. The
last line of the song states, We must away, ere break of day, to win our harps and
gold from him! The dwarves were exceptionally determined to march up to Smaug
and take the back the precious gold that was rightfully theirs. The tone of the song
was very bold and adventurous. This is proved by the length of the song. The song
sung by the dwarves is so long that the when you read it, you feel as if you are with...

This song is shorter, and much more peculiar and mystifying than the tune sung by
the dwarves. Almost every stanza ends with a Ha, ha! this is a small, but important
factor to the mystery of the song. It leaves you with many questions. Why are they
laughing? What are they laughing at? As mentioned at the beginning of this
paragraph, the song sung by the elves is much shorter than the dwarves tune. The
length of this song contributes to the mysterious tone. If this song was long and
drawn out, the reader would no longer be left with questions about the song. They
would know why the elves were laughing, and they would also know the answers to
the questions the elves asked the group of travellers. Without the tone and length of
the song the mystery and suspense would be

There s only one person I know who drives a car like that. Bonita asked, Who?
Sammy answered. EZ Egg.
Just as he said that, EZ Egg stepped out of his car.
He was walking in with his friend Yola Yolk! They were going on a trip and stopped
in to get some food to go.
Just as the friends were all together at one huge table, someone got up and played
another nice song on the Juke Box. Everyone hurried to the dance floor and was
showing off their new moves when, when in walked Terry and Tina Toast!
They greeted everyone and went right straight to the dance floor! Tina and Terry
showed off some new steps they had learned! They even did a dance called the
Robot! They stole the moment!
Tina wore a nice long scarf and her knee high boots. Terry wore a nice tam with a
gold button right on the top!
What a special and capturing surprise this was. The weather was just perfect for the
occasion. The couples all shared jokes, laughter and unstoppable fun! They had found
a new place to hang
The Character Of Joe Sixsmith
Joe Sixsmith is the lead protagonist of the Joe Sixsmith series of detective mystery
novels by English crime author Reginald Charles Hill. Hill was born to professional
footballer Reg Hill during the age when people played football not for the money but
for the love of the game. He got his love of books from his mother who was a great
lover of Golden Age crime writers whose books she had stocked in her home
library. He went to the Carlisle Grammar School and was one of the best students
in English which probably informed his choice of university degree. Reginald went
to the National service or two years before he went to study English at Oxford
University s St Catherine s College. For several years he worked as a teacher and

The novel is a literate, complicated, tight, a little offbeat and sometimes funny
novel following the sleuthing life of amateur detective Joe Sixsmith. Joe Sixsmith
is still a run of the mill, regular Private Investigator that lives quite the interesting
life dealing with all manner of bizarre clients. Being on the bottom rung of private
detectives having just started his investigative agency. His most exciting case for
months has been a case in which he was required to investigate a man whose wife
thought was teaching. But all that changes when a series of unexplainable
coincidences occur in his life and leads three clients to him. These are disparate
clients that soon lead him right into an intricate investigation that will tax the
energy and intelligence of the amateur detective. One man comes to him saying
that he dreamed of a murder and that he is best placed to report it so that the police
can act to prevent it. Another client comes to him asking that he investigates an
immigration mix up that had led to her husband being held at the airport for days.
Another lady believes that someone is out to get her because she is a witch and
wants him to investigate who the person could be. It would seem that there are
connections between the three cases though at first glance Joe cannot see how they
could be related. However, the lives of several people may be in danger if
Rear Window Analysis
Summary: Rear Window by Alfred Hitchcock starts out with the introduction of
everyone who lives in an apartment complex in New York. Looking out of the
main character Jeff s window we see a newly married couple, a ballerina, a
musician, a salesman with a bedridden wife, and a woman they call Ms. Lonely
Hearts, pretending to be on a date. As Jeff battles with relationship problems with his
girlfriend Lisa and being confined to a wheelchair he begins to observe out his
window and watch the people in his apartment complex. During the night, a scream
can be heard throughout the complex, and Jeff begins to become suspicious of the
salesman who left at an unusual hour with his suitcase. Then, the viewer sees the
salesmen, Mr. Thorwald, leaving with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jeff uses pictures of the flowerbeds from before the dog died to notice that a flower
was not the same size as the day before. In order to see his reaction, Jeff writes a
letter to Thorwald reading What have you done to her? and has Liza deliver it.
While Thorwald is out, Liza and Stella decide to go digging in the garden, but Liza
suddenly decides to go search his apartment. At the same time, Jeff and Stella see
the Ms. Lonely Hearts from the window about to commit suicide. Although Lonely
Hearts is stopped by the musicians music, Thorwald arrives home and catches
Liza. When the police arrive they arrest Liza but she manages to show Jeff that she
s found Mrs. Thorwald s wedding ring, something she would never leave home
without, but Thorwald notices this gesture and spots Jeff. Thorwald then makes his
way toward Jeff s apartment and tries to attack him. Although defenceless in his
wheelchair, Jeff uses the flash on his camera to temporarily blind Thorwald.
Eventually Thorwald reaches Jeff and tried to throw him out the window, Doyle and
the other cops notice Jeff hanging out the window and attempt to restrain Thorwald
but Jeff falls from the window regardless. Thorwald then confesses to the murder of
his wife and is arrested. At the end of the next day we see things return to normal
and both of Jeff s legs are now in
A New Kind Of Epidemic
Jesus G. Chacin Chasity Drew English 1006 003 2 November 2014 A New Kind of
Epidemic Globalization has created a strong tendency for young people around the
world to follow a series of norms, generally attributed to Western civilizations,
seeking to construct this idealized image of what beauty should be. Popular media,
intentionally or not, has managed to successfully disseminate all over the globe. The
Globalization of Eating Disorders written in 2003 by English professor and feminist
philosopher Susan Bordo, makes some strong points that seriously need to be taken
into account if we want to identify and subsequently fight to eradicate a variety of
psychological problems, which are product from self image insecurities a person...

The author attributes this kind of behavior to the presence of a body image
distortion syndrome , as well as other severe perceptual and cognitive problems that
normal girls don t have (640). There is no doubt that the purpose of this first
example Bordo made up is to appeal to her targeted audience, in order to help them
understand how serious the effects of popular media can be and how deep they
penetrate on the weak mind of an insecure girl. The reading attempts to break a series
of stereotypical thoughts society has when it comes to identifying who are the most
vulnerable sections of the population that might suffer from any of the problems
previously mentioned. The author argues that, although the wide majority of the
population would portrait the girl from the first imaginary scenario in their minds as
white, North American and economically secure , this is not always the case. In
contemplation of proving this theory, Susan Bordo uses more examples, this time
realistic and reinforced by facts. The targeted audience, comprised mainly by young
adults, is given the example of an African American girl, named Tenisha, who suffers
from the same fears, regarding her physical image. Among other precedents around
the world, Bordo points out the cases of Fiji, Central Africa and some Asian countries
like South Korea,
Theme Between Frankenstein And Jekyll And Hyde
The growth of scientific knowledge in the 1800s had a major impact on the arts in
general, particularly literature, with the emergence of a trend for writers to explore
the concept and creation of identity, relating it to the constraints of society.
Frankenstein is shown to create the Creature due to his obsession with knowledge.
Similarly, Jekyll creates Hyde due to scientific interest. DantГЁs is shown to create
his identities, not due to the growth of science, but in order to become part of the
development of culture in France after the events of the Revolutionary Wars. Creators
are shown to have brought their creations into existence due to the progressions of
society and culture, which displays the construction of new identities as an almost...

He is trapped by the guilt that he feels over William s death, Justine s execution,
and the creation of the Creature. Whilst Jekyll and Frankenstein are trapped in the
idea of their creations, Dumas presents DantГЁs as unable to act outside his own
limits, becoming trapped by his own creation. The creation of Monte Cristo traps
DantГЁs by forcing him to constantly adopt a different persona, although he
appears less constrained by this than he was as DantГЁs: the development of the
Count places him in a higher social standing than before, which allows him to act
above the constraints of society. The novel s structure therefore does not create the
idea that DantГЁs is trapped he appears to be liberated in his higher role. Despite
this, his time in the Chateau d If causes him to become trapped by the idea of
getting revenge. McKee states that people who are more vengeful are motivated by
power... and the desire for status, in spite of the constraints of society, which fits with
DantГЁs character after his time in prison. He becomes stuck in the idea of getting
revenge and is unable to escape this once his plot has begun. Despite this, and unlike
Frankenstein and Jekyll, DantГЁs is able to act outside the constraints of
The Importance Of The Misfortunes Of Life
In this world, there are individuals who believe that there are people who live perfect
lives with no issues, but in reality, this is completely false. Issues are present within
the everyday lives of all people, which concludes that not a single person is untouched
by the misfortunes of life. Although an individualmay feel that the problem they face
is much worse than anyone else s, but the fact is that their minuscule problem may be
insignificant to the problem that someone else faces.
For instance, there are some people who complain about losing a twenty dollar bill,
which may seem like a tremendous problem at that moment, but they fail to realize
and acknowledge the people who cannot even earn a dollar a day. It is important that
everyone understands that the world does not revolve around them, and that people
need to look out for others. Jackson s song shows this when he says, As I turn up the
collar on my favorite winter coat, This wind is blowin my mind, I see the kids in the
street, with not enough to eat. Who am I, to be blind? Pretending not to see their
needs. Everyone is gifted in many ways, but everyone also has an issue that they must
overcome. He is mentioning that those who are fortunate enough to not face any
major hardships should help misfortunate individuals.
Furthermore, I believe this song can help represent me due to the fact that I still think
about others when I have an insignificant problem. I live in Canada, an affluent,
developed, and free

Are Friends Better Than Seinfeld
Why Friends is a Better Sitcom Than Seinfeld
While the 90s notoriously brought us a myriad of classic sitcoms, there are none as
infamous as Friends and Seinfeld. The two are often compared due to their
simultaneous airings and similar audiences, but there is no doubt that Friends is the
better sitcom.
In the world of television, there exists an elusive and uncommonly used tactic that
draws viewers in and makes a show golden. This tactic is rare, so rare that Seinfeld
obviously has not heard of it. This tactic? A plotline. Seinfeld is dubbed the show
about nothing because this is exactly what viewers get out of watching it: nothing.
No moral lesson, no ethical value, no storyline. Just four characters acting in
completely asinine ways for 30 minutes without a purpose. Friends, on the other hand,
always teaches us something by the end of the episode. Whether it be the fact that
family comes first, or the fact that your friends are your family, Friends has tangible
value in it that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Seinfeld universe, a hospital is a place where a Junior Mint is ejected into
the abdominal cavity of an unsuspecting patient. While Friends uses a devastating
fire to show Rachel and Phoebe becoming closer as roommates, Seinfeld uses a fire
to show George actively pushing children out of the way to save himself. Wedding
envelopes characterize a new beginning for Monica and Chandler in Friends, while
they quite literally cause the death of George s fiancГ©e in Seinfeld. Last but
certainly not least, the overall satisfaction of the finales of both shows is
incomparable. The Seinfeld finale is the sloppy, unnecessarily collective, last minute
project of a procrastinating student; the Friends finale is the thoughtful, well put

Term Paper On Crohn s Disease
Crohn s Disease Approximately 700,000 Americans are affected with Crohn s

and deteriorates the digestive system. It affects men and women equally and can
develop at any age. It is primarily found in teens and young adults within the age
range of 15 and 35. Chron s disease tends to be hereditary, it is commonly genetic
but can manifest as time passes. A family history linked with this condition increases
the probability of developing this autoimmune disease. Crohn s disease is named
after Dr. Burrill Bernard Crohn an American gastroenterologist. He first described the

Nature Vs Nurture Debate
How is the nature vs nurture debate related to a consideration of the mental disorder,
schizophrenia? INTRODUCTION Schizophrenia is categorized by thoughts or
experiences that seem abnormal with reality, disorganized speech or behaviour and
decreased participation in regular daily activities. Difficulty with memory and
concentration are sometimes also present. The two hit hypothesis generally refers to
a genetic vulnerability, which is known as the first hit, triggered by something in the
environment, which is known as the second hit The first hit is proposed to involve
disruption of some sort of brain mechanism that is susceptible to numerous genetic
and environmental agitations, and capable of producing long term significant changes.

brothers, which are both diagnosed with the mental disorder, schizophrenia. While
being interviewed, they spoke about their past experiences during their childhood,
and how their mother had the carrier gene, which one twin inherited. Conclusions
/ Results: Conclusions suggest that the nature vs nurture dichotomy may not be as
relevant as looking at the interaction between these two forces. It was discovered
that while one s genetic heritage creates a predisposition towards schizophrenia,
other factors such as the home environment, the parental environment, dietary
factors and others may determine whether the disease is manifested. Source 2:

Invitro and Insilico Anti-angiogenesis of Plant
Most of the drugs available today are from plant origin, which can avoid not only
side effects but also multiple steps in the synthesis of chemical compounds. It is the
oldest form of health care known to mankind which is reported in herbal
pharmacopoeia. Along the lines, we have identified that one of the Sophora family
members (Sophora flavescens) has shown to arrest the cell cycle and inhibit the
angiogenesisby down regulating the expression of VEGF. Sophora family members
are distributed across the world and they showed to have many pharmacological
actions. To identify and characterize the antiangiogenic compounds present in the
Sophora family members, we have collected S. interrupta, from the Tirumala hilltop
areas of Tirupati, Eastern Ghats, Andhra Pradesh, India. The roots of this plant are
crushed into a fine powder and the presence/absence of phytochemical constituents in
various solvent phases was validated. Results showed that SEA extract are not only
positive for terpenoids and alkaloids but also showed significant anti oxidant and anti
inflammatory activity. Antioxidant and anti inflammatory potential of
phytoconstituents has shown to reduce the risk of blood vessel associated cancer. It
suggests that the compounds present in the SEA extract can serve as a powerful
physiological effects that make them useful as phytomedicine. However, there is no
such secondary metabolites from S. interrupta or their allied species are documented.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ambextrous
What are the advantages and disadvantages of Ambidextrous and Sinistral in a
dexterous world?
Throughout the history, there are a lot of debates about which is right handed or left
handed, even ambidextrous better. This issue has been argued and resulted in many
sides by not only scientist but also psychologist, because it decides to succeed in
life. In the following essay, the benefits and the drawbacks of this problem will be
discussed.
Let s begin by looking at some definitions. Sinistral people are left handed dominance,
which means they prefer to write and manipulate with left hand. While ambidextrous
people are able to do tasks equally well with both hands. According to Carey (Right
Handed or Left, n. d), the survey found that approximately 90% of the human

Firstly, Prof. Crow suggested that ambidextrous people have a risk of slower
development of both verbal and non verbal skills (Raderson, 2001). A study of
8,000 children at 8 and 16 years was presented how dominant hand associated with
behavior, language ability and school performance. Results showed that the 7 8 years
old ambidextrous children acted like right handed peers, but had difficulty with
languages, speaking and do math poorly at school. Secondly, by age 15 16, these
children also have twice the risk of ADHD symptom. ADHD stands for Attention
Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, which means children have difficulty sustaining
attention, troubled relationships, impulsive behavior and also struggle with low self
esteem and perform badly at school (Ambidextrous children may have more problems
in school, 2010). Those results may make the ambidextrous children s parents
disappointed and worried. Despite those results, Crow claimed that ambidextrous
children just develop later than others, otherwise, they might have a completely
different way to develop (Randerson,
Analysis Of Eve Kornfeld s Creating An American Culture...
History is the framework of every nation. It describes what life was like in a nation,
hundreds perhaps thousands of years previously. With history, many citizens are
able to examine what lead to a crisis in a nation such as the Stock Market Crash of
1929 or the Civil War in the 1800s in the United States of America. Likewise, the
moments of growth and economic success are looked at. From these past endeavors,
the people can examine what went wrong and what went right and determine how
they can stop themselves from making similar mistakes or act in a way that has been
proven to work. In Eve Kornfeld s Creating an American Culture 1775 1800, many
different areas of national identity are discussed, including the beginnings of
documenting the history of America as an independent nation. This was especially
hard for Americans to create a singular national identity because there was bias in the
early works, the different colonies or states were extremely diverse, and many
intellectuals had different perspectives on the American identity. At the beginning of
the historical documentation of America, many individuals were amateurs and/or
biased towards their native state. There were different sides as to what the American
Revolutionwas about so, If they wished to preserve their image unsullied by European
incursions, Americans would have to develop their own narratives of nationhood
(Kornfeld, 40). This brought a movement of amateur writers creating historical

Malthusianism was a movement that was begun by Robert Malthus in 1789 that had
a big impact on the thinking, and teachings of many great geologists, and scientists.
All of the men in this paper believe in this idea that population growth is going to
grow faster than the growth of food, but they all have different solutions, and
thoughts on the matter. Some believe that population is so out of control that we
must contain it, and even find ways to drastically slow it down, while others
believe that we need things like aggregate demand in order to keep the growing
populations employed and not homeless. The first, and possibly the most intense
man I am going to talk about is William Vogt. A huge fan of Thomas Malthus and
his ideas, Vogt decided to contribute to the Malthusian movement with the writing of
the book Road to Survival . This book ended up having a huge impact on the
Malthusian upbringing or revival in the 1950s and 1960s.Vogt was a big follower of
population control, and was very concerned about the population growing out of
control. He believed that the fast economic growth, along with the quickly growing
fertility rates, would destroy the environment, and would eventually lead our society
to mass hunger, disease, and even war. He also believed that this population problem
would eventually lead to the collapse of human civilization. Vogt even stated that the
day of judgement is at hand as man s
The Fires Of Jubilee By Stephen B. Oats Essay
The ethical stance one has as an adult is more often than not the result of the
cultural conditioning that one received as a child; however, as one grows to
adulthood it is necessary for One to examine One s own ethical stances . A way
that people can be made to re examine their values is by reading thought provoking
texts such as Steven B. Oats Fires of Jubilee. The book reviews historical accounts
of the life of Nate Turner, who lead a rebellion against the slave owners of South
Hampton County Virginia. The text shows how trauma and disillusion can hinder
even the most intelligent while forcing One to ask Oneself the ethical questions of
the not only One s complicity in slaverybut also when if ever is it justifiable to take
the life of another?
The book The Fires of Jubilee is a historical recount by Stephen B. Oats of the life
of Nate Turner who in 1831 lead a slave rebellion in Virginia s South Hampton
County. Early in his life, Nate Turner was recognized by his community as bright,
intelligent, and a natural leader. Not only the slave community, but also the
master and his family were in awe of his ability to read without being taught, and
of his knowledge of events that happened before his birth. For all his life Nate is
told of his future glory. However, when he reaches the age of twelve, he is
dismayed by his assigned to work in the fields, an overly ordinary assignment for
someone who was destined for greatness.

Risks of committing e commerce system:
Introduction:
I will be talking about what are the risks for e commerce systems and be discussing
the main risks which include hacking, viruses, worms, trojan worms, web servers,
identity theft and firewalls. Hacking:
Hacking is where unwelcome and unlawful users somehow achieve entry to a
network. This illegal user or hacker can then take over your network and be able to
modify specific aspects of a website as if they are really the actual users, these hand
over information that could demonstrate serious issues e.g.; customers could hand
over their personal details to the wrong people or person. This issue can be
prevented from occurring by using the e commerce system which would have to be ...

Majority of small businesses tend to use a single PC as a web server because they can

The Dynamic Response Of Bridges
Research efforts in the area of studying the dynamic response of bridges subjected
to moving vehicles experienced two distinguished phases. The application of digital
computers can be considered as the separation limit of these two phases. Before the
application of computers, methods were analytical, simplified or approximate in
order to analyze simple and fundamental problems. As the simplified analysis of the
early research efforts is not applicable in the analysis of complex Train Track Bridge
Interaction (TTBI) problems, this literature review will be focusing mostly on the
relatively recent research. 2.2 Bridge Modeling Various types of bridge modeling
have been adopted in the study of the Train Track Bridge dynamics. The selection of
the model depends on the analysis procedure and intended goals. Some of the most
important models are summarized below. Early studies on the TTBI Interaction
analysis utilized the continuum models represented by Euler Bernoulli beam
equation. These models were used mostly for the simple span bridgeswith limited
cross sectional variety. The advantage of these models, in addition to its simplicity, is
the ability to obtain a closed form solution. This model is still attractive for
researchers who intend to study the Vehicle Bridge Interaction theoretically with
closed form equations (Biondi et al., 2005). Euler Bernoulli beam has some
simplifications which may not be acceptable in some cases; therefore, other models
such as Timoshenko

Essay On The Federal Food Stamp Program
TO: Mayor Bill de Blasio
FROM: Bonnie Humpherys,
SUBJECT: SNAP Program Reform
DATE: October 6, 2017
The federal food stamp program (SNAP), makes up the largest portion of the budget
for the US Department of Agriculture.1 In New York alone 15.3% of residents
receive benefits from the SNAP program.2 The purpose of SNAP is to provide
nutrition to low income citizens, however SNAP beneficiaries experience higher
rates of obesity compared non reciepiants.3 According to a report published by the
USDA, Americans use food stamps to buy more than $600 million worth of
sweetened beverages, and bought hundreds of millions more of junk food and sugary
snacks.4 Lack of regulation and reform to the SNAP program is causing harm to the
public. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A report released from NYC HRA revealed that over 40% of SNAP cases have
balances of less than $20 by the end of the second week each month.11 Scholars
who have researched obesity and the paradox of hunger confirmed a symptom of
obesity is overeating when food is available. The total annual medical costs of
obesity in the United States in now an estimated $190 million.12A recent report
estimated that by 2030 U.S. healthcare spending will rise to 68 billion annually if
obesity rates continue to increase.13
Obesity rates in the US are rising due to food insecurity. One in six people in the
U.S. are food insecure, while two thirds of adults and one third Americans are
overweight or obese.14 Studies have found that wealthy districts have three times
as many supermarkets compared to the poor.15 Kevin Conocannon of the USDA
noted in an interview that people in poorer areas sometimes have narrower variety
of food options.16 SNAP recipients face barriers to achieving nutritious diets due
to lack of availability in their neighborhood. Healthy food often comes with higher
costs, so most people with lower income result to eating foods with lower cost and
higher calories. According to a 2009 report by the USDA, as many as 23.5 million
Americans live more than one mile from a supermarket with limited access to a
vehicle.17 Food Deserts are particularly prevalent in low income communities.18

Hooke Vs Newton s 3 Laws Of Motion
Newton vs Hooke Have you ever heard of Newton s Three Laws of Motion, well of
course you have. But have you ever heard of a man named Robert Hooke. Even
though both men were influential to the scientific world one is remembered far
more than the other. Why is this? Newton and Hooke accomplished multiple things,
each overcoming obstacles to reach the end goal. First is Issac Newton, although
born a farmers son he had bigger dreams than to be a farmer. He attended
Cambridge and was elected a minor fellow. In 1668 he constructed the first reflecting
telescope. This construction opened doors for his future scientific career. Newton
continued experimenting and ultimately determined that white light was composed
of all the colors of the spectrum and was made up of particles. This idea lit the fuse
on his toxic relationship with Robert Hooke. However, Newton did not let Hooke
hold him back instead he began to study gravity. Eventually the studying led... Show

It all comes down to popularity, both men wanted to be remembered as the greatest
scientific mind of their generation. The feud all started when Newton submitted a
paper to the Royal Society saying that light was a particle. Hooke attacked the
paper due to the fact that it contradicted his ideas. As the years went on the feud
continued to grow. Newton created mathematical proof surrounding the idea of
gravity, however Hooke felt as though Newton would not have been able to come to
those conclusions without Hooke s suggestions about gravity. The feud intensified
when Newton refused to admit that Hooke influenced his findings. Even Hooke s
death did not stop the feud. Newton, who became Hooke s successor as the
president of the Royal Society, removed the only portrait of Hooke from the Royal
Society. Newton also worked to tarnish Hooke s name and ultimately succeeded for
some time. Thanks to Newton, Hooke became a man who seemed vindictive and
jealous until long after their
Crying Is The Companion Of The Spirit And The Cure Of
Soul
Crying is the companion of the spirit and the cure of the soul . In life s ups and
down , tears are the closest and most loyal to the heart . When one is melancholic ,
s/he cries , and when one is jovial , s/he cries too . However , some people consider
shedding tears is exclusive for women , who are modest , compassionate , sensitive ,
soft , nurturing , intuitive , sentimental , docile , inconclusive and emotional but
prohibited on men who are supposed to be aggressive , sturdy , rational , emotionally
detached , power loving and focused on potential and authority . On the contrary , an
opposing party interferes , protesting and defending mans natural right to express his
feelings . Throughout history , men s cryinghas always been a controversy , but quite
the majority of people males , females , specialists and religious people acknowledge
shedding tearsas the most natural phase of man s face expressions that reveal strength
, sentiment , love and respect .
The ability to accept men s crying has varied between different periods in history . To
begin , the Bible is full of weeping . For example , Joseph burst into tears several
times , in which his tears were tears of rage , tears of pain and tears of sensitivity ,
.. his sobs were so loud that the Egyptians could hear. Moreover , among Greek
Heroes , tears were lavish, such as Achilles in The Illiad . In medieval Europe , the
elite would conceal their emotions because they felt forced to do so , but this
The Muted Group Theory Of The World Of Communication
Abstract Muted Group Theory is essentially one group being subdued from another
dominant group. The most prevalent example throughout society has been men and
women, men being the dominant figure, and women being mute. The Muted Group
Theory is one that explains why women or other minorities feel more constrained and
obligated to conform to dominant figures. In the world of communication, men seem
to have more influence over women especially in linguistics. Not only is language an
important aspect throughout this theory, advertising has remained a crucial part as
well. Advertising depicts women and minorities to be mute throughout images, rather
than language. It is important to understand Muted Group Theory when dealing with
men and women and the power each gender has. Keywords: muted, men, women,
theory, dominant Muted Group Theory When the word mute comes to mind many
think of being silent or refraining from speech. Being mute is essential in regards to
defining Muted Group Theory because of the specific groups that are inclined to be
mute within a society (women and marginalized groups). Muted Group Theory
embodies women and other minorities as non existent in terms of communication and
social patterns when dealing with men. Both women and minorities are expected to
conform to the dominant group, such as men. In terms of communication, language
is essentially man made; therefore women have not developed the language to be at
equal terms with men, resulting in women
Analysis Of Miss Emily Grierson In A Rose For Emily By...
In A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner, Miss Emily Grierson goes through a lot
of grief. Her father and sweetheart, Homer Barron, died only within a few years
apart and this caused her whole world to be turned upside down (323 327). There
is some debate as to whether Miss Emily killed her sweetheart or not. When her
father died, she was not willing to give up his body to be buried. Later, they found
the body of Homer in her house and the town had no clue he had even passed away.
According to Cornell Law School, the definition of first degree murderis the
intentional killing of another person with planning involved. Miss Emily is guilty
of first degree murder because of the smell that came from her house, the poison
she purchased from the druggist, and the possibility Homer was only interested in
men. At one point in the story, Faulkner writes about a smell that accumulates from
Miss Emily s house. According to the story, two years after her father s death and a
short time after her sweetheart had deserted her is when the smell first developed
(324). The mayor received multiple complaints about the smell but he didn t want
to confront Miss Emily about it because she was a high and mighty Grierson (324).
He just assumed that the smell was just a rat or a snake that nigger of hers killed in
the yard (324). The smell could be a sign of guilt because Miss Emily had to know
that Homer s body was creating an intense odor. She had to know because she was
living in the
Historical Significance Of The Vietnam War
The Vietnam War is a blank page in the history of the U.S. foreign policy. As a matter
of fact, there have been many public and congressional debates about the American
intervention in Vietnam and the morality of the political decision that proved to be
fatal for both countries. Undeniably, the Vietnam War belongs in the period of the
Turbulent Sixties which along with other tremendous political events such as the
Civil War, divided the American society for decades. Until today the memory of the
war still haunts the American conscience. Thus, the purpose of the essay is to
examine the significance of the VietnamWar as a collective memory in the American
society. Specifically, the main focus will be on how the remembrance of the Vietnam
War, as well as the U.S. policy has been constructed in the... Show more content on

From the late twentieth century on, cultural historians and psychologists have
stressed the importance of the memory in an attempt to provide insight to the
traumatic past and the process of reconciliation, both in the political as well as the
cultural domain. Furthermore, memory is considered of high importance when it
comes to the formation of identity either for individuals, groups or a nation as a
whole. According to Marita Sturken s statements in her book Tangled Memories: The
Vietnam War, the AIDS Epidemic, and the Politics of Remembering, memory is
crucial to the understanding of a culture precisely because it indicates collective
desires, needs, and self definitions (2). Additionally, memory and history are distinct
from cultural memory, which is a field of contested meanings that interacts with
American cultural elements in order to produce concepts of the nation, particularly in
events of trauma, where both the structures and fractures of a culture are exposed

Mandate Of Heaven Research Paper
The Mandate of Heaven (Tianming), which is the concept of legitimatizing a
dynasty after it has conquered a previous dynasty, is a very interesting subject.
Although I have studied Chinese history and have heard of the Mandate of Heaven
the detail surrounding it origins eluded me. The Zhou dynasty which defeated the
Shang dynasty used the Mandate of Heaven as a way to legitimize their reason for
attacking the village/kingdom. There was some discussion about the last King of
Shang being corrupt, unfair, and unvirtuous. He was a killer of virtuous ministers.
Basically calling the last King of Shang a tyrant, dictator and every horrible thing one
can think of even a cannibal. But this account of the last Shang King was written by
the Zhou leaders and it stands to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tianming was a way of explaining why a dynasty that had been strong and
prosperous is suddenly downtrodden and suffering corruption. Why it was necessary
for the failing dynasty to be overthrown. It is interesting that the Mandate can only be
used after the previous dynasty has been successfully overthrown. Although the Zhou
overthrew the Shang, their dynasties still had many common elements. They both
relied on the spiritual world and their deceased ancestors to dictate how they should
handle their earthly affairs. The was still a tie between the heavenly world and the
earthly realm, so much so that it decided which dynasty had the right to rule.
Difference lie in the fact that there are more written records of the Zhou and a reader
can see that not only the king and nobles follow ancestor worship. In the Shang, the
turtle shells mostly came from the upper families like the King and noble houses. In
the Zhou, the written come from the King to the common people. The Zhou also used
different ways of divination. It is apparent that like the Shang, the Zhou was a bronze,
warrior driving
Examples Of Outline For Anthem
Anthem Chapters 1 3 Theme Outline Topic Choice: Equality Theme Statement: Ann
Rand used equality in her book, Anthem, to show that being the same may seem
nice, but it ll cost us our identity. III. Character Equality 7 2521 Quotes ...we repeat
to ourselves whenever we are tempted: We are one in all and all in one. There are no
men but only the great WE, One, indivisible and forever. We repeat this to ourselves,
it helps us not. pg.19 Explanation This quote gives a background of Equality thinking
of being himself and breaking away from The Council. On the other hand, Equality
knows that acting different will attract the government, costing him his death. In the
real world, equality won t give us the issue of rights and fairness, but in the future, the
human race will certainly regret it. Ann Rand put this in her book to show that even
though the world pursues equality, we would have to give up on individuality.... Show

wrist with their names upon it. pg.18 Explanation Bracelet The bracelet is being
compared to the star badge that the Jews were during the Holocaust. While the
badges were to diversify them, the bracelets in Anthem were to mark that everyone

use numbers to keep track of things. Which leads to a hypothesis that The Council
gives everyone numbers in their names so they can keep track of the ones that could
be smart or brave enough to demand independence. V. Irony Equality s
The Lives Of Minimum Wage Workers
As an investigative approach to study the lives of minimum wage workers,
journalist Barbara Ehrenreich conducted this research by assuming multiple low
paid positions herself. Her essential goal for this study was to determine how low
paid workers survive on their income. She began her adjustment to the working class
lifestyle by establishing regulations for herself to eliminate any advantages from her
real life that could alleviate her throughout the process. In doing so, she abandoned
all of the luxuries that her middle class career afforded her, such as a comfortable
living environment, fresh quality meals, and working independently. Immersing
herself into this lifestyle allowed her to witness the arduous circumstances of low
wageliving that she could not have experienced otherwise.
After finding a temporary residence in an efficiency apartment within a forty five
minute drive from the prospective employment options in Key West, Florida,
Ehrenreich attempts to find a low paying job that could defray her living expenses.
She applies for multiple jobs and waits a couple of days until she is hired as a
waitress at a restaurant attached to a hotel that she calls Hearthside. During the first
few weeks as a waitress, Ehrenreich is concerned with being an effective worker
and providing a convivial atmosphere for the customers. She soon discovers that the
onerous demands of waitressing can only be alleviated by desensitising herself to the
quality of her work. Upon doing so,

Essay On People

  • 1. Essay On People Crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay On People" presents a unique set of challenges that go beyond the usual considerations of grammar, structure, and coherence. The difficulty lies in the vastness and complexity of the subject matter itself – people. The sheer diversity of human experiences, perspectives, and behaviors makes it a formidable task to encapsulate the essence of humanity in a single piece of writing. To begin with, defining the scope becomes a daunting task. People encompass a wide array of cultures, backgrounds, beliefs, and histories. Attempting to cover this vast spectrum within the confines of an essay requires careful selection and focus, making it challenging to do justice to the richness and diversity inherent in humanity. Moreover, delving into the intricacies of individual lives and societal dynamics demands a nuanced approach. Balancing the general with the specific, and the profound with the mundane, adds another layer of complexity. The challenge is not only to present a comprehensive picture but also to do so in a way that captures the reader's attention and fosters a genuine understanding of the subject. Furthermore, the dynamic nature of human existence poses a constant challenge. Societal norms, cultural paradigms, and individual perspectives are ever-evolving. Trying to encapsulate these changes within the static confines of an essay requires not only a keen awareness of current trends but also the ability to predict and reflect on future developments. As a writer, navigating the ethical considerations related to portraying individuals and groups with respect and sensitivity is another intricate aspect. Striking a balance between objectivity and empathy, avoiding stereotypes, and recognizing the inherent dignity in each person adds an ethical dimension to the writing process. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Essay On People" is a formidable task that demands a delicate balance of breadth and depth, sensitivity to the evolving nature of humanity, and a commitment to ethical representation. It is a journey that requires not just linguistic skill but a profound understanding of the complexities inherent in the human experience. For assistance with essays on diverse topics, including insightful perspectives on humanity, one can explore the services offered by HelpWriting.net. Module: Law Component: assignment 2 Percentage of final module grade: 20% The development of the EU has slowly eroded the sovereignty of the UK Parliament Student Number: 1546031 Word Count: Parliamentary Sovereignty is the concept that Parliament is the supreme legal authority in the United Kingdom. Kellerman, M. G. (2011) argues that since the United Kingdom unlike most other countries does not have a codified constitution to restrict the powers of the Parliament, the main check on power of the British Parliament is the sovereignty of the future parliaments. The European Union has been growing since its establishment and its growth has been considered a threat to the Parliamentary Sovereignty of the UK, since their joining of the EU in 1973. This essay will showcase the treaties, institutions, cases, and acts that have eroded the sovereignty of the UK Parliament and will conclude that the development of the EU will only further reduce the power of Parliamentary Sovereignty as long as the United Kingdom stays a member of the EU. Britain has sacrificed power to treaties since the end of World War 2 in order for better relations with foreign countries, these treaties and others developed into what is now known as the European Union. Perhaps the most significant of these treaties is the Treaty of Rome (1957). The UK conceded to this treaty in 1972 and for the first time European Law was given power in the UK through an act of the UK

I thought the song conveyed that sense of running and tension that the movie showed. In the song I chose, it starts out soft but has a crescendo as the music continues. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I wanted to show the sadness through a piece that everyone did not automatically assume would be there, but did actually fit the scene. The piece is also polyphonic because of the music behind the multiple voices. The tempo and the dynamics really do not change a whole lot throughout the piece till near the very end. The voices and the music all have a decrescendo and the tempo also slows down quite a bit, this adds a good sense of ending to the piece. So I ended it at this point in the song, 16:01 and this also leads into the next scene in the movie, so the song ends at 1:54:46 in the movie. The voices are in harmony at the beginning and it shows a clashing of sound and they become unison by the end. This also shows the winding down of both the scene and the movement, and after the movement there is a slight cadence. Additionally, there is some dissonance between the voices that add to the sense of wrong, bad, or just add a more dramatic tone. Popular media, intentionally or not, has managed to successfully disseminate all over the globe. The Globalization of Eating Disorders written in 2003 by English professor and feminist philosopher Susan Bordo, makes some strong points that seriously need to be taken into account if we want to identify and subsequently fight to eradicate a variety of psychological problems, which are product from self image insecurities a person... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The author attributes this kind of behavior to the presence of a body image distortion syndrome , as well as other severe perceptual and cognitive problems that normal girls don t have (640). There is no doubt that the purpose of this first example Bordo made up is to appeal to her targeted audience, in order to help them understand how serious the effects of popular media can be and how deep they penetrate on the weak mind of an insecure girl. The reading attempts to break a series of stereotypical thoughts society has when it comes to identifying who are the most vulnerable sections of the population that might suffer from any of the problems previously mentioned. The author argues that, although the wide majority of the population would portrait the girl from the first imaginary scenario in their minds as white, North American and economically secure , this is not always the case. In contemplation of proving this theory, Susan Bordo uses more examples, this time realistic and reinforced by facts. The targeted audience, comprised mainly by young adults, is given the example of an African American girl, named Tenisha, who suffers from the same fears, regarding her physical image. Among other precedents around the world, Bordo points out the cases of Fiji, Central Africa and some Asian countries like South Korea,

Theme Between Frankenstein And Jekyll And Hyde The growth of scientific knowledge in the 1800s had a major impact on the arts in general, particularly literature, with the emergence of a trend for writers to explore the concept and creation of identity, relating it to the constraints of society. Frankenstein is shown to create the Creature due to his obsession with knowledge. Similarly, Jekyll creates Hyde due to scientific interest. DantГЁs is shown to create his identities, not due to the growth of science, but in order to become part of the development of culture in France after the events of the Revolutionary Wars. Whilst Jekyll and Frankenstein are trapped in the idea of their creations, Dumas presents DantГЁs as unable to act outside his own limits, becoming trapped by his own creation. The creation of Monte Cristo traps DantГЁs by forcing him to constantly adopt a different persona, although he appears less constrained by this than he was as DantГЁs: the development of the Count places him in a higher social standing than before, which allows him to act above the constraints of society. The novel s structure therefore does not create the idea that DantГЁs is trapped he appears to be liberated in his higher role. Despite this, his time in the Chateau d If causes him to become trapped by the idea of getting revenge. McKee states that people who are more vengeful are motivated by power... and the desire for status, in spite of the constraints of society, which fits with DantГЁs character after his time in prison. The Importance Of The Misfortunes Of Life In this world, there are individuals who believe that there are people who live perfect lives with no issues, but in reality, this is completely false. Issues are present within the everyday lives of all people, which concludes that not a single person is untouched by the misfortunes of life. Although an individualmay feel that the problem they face is much worse than anyone else s, but the fact is that their minuscule problem may be insignificant to the problem that someone else faces. For instance, there are some people who complain about losing a twenty dollar bill, which may seem like a tremendous problem at that moment, but they fail to realize and acknowledge the people who cannot even earn a dollar a day. It is important that everyone understands that the world does not revolve around them, and that people need to look out for others. Jackson s song shows this when he says, As I turn up the collar on my favorite winter coat, This wind is blowin my mind, I see the kids in the street, with not enough to eat. Who am I, to be blind? Pretending not to see their needs. Everyone is gifted in many ways, but everyone also has an issue that they must overcome. He is mentioning that those who are fortunate enough to not face any major hardships should help misfortunate individuals. It describes what life was like in a nation, hundreds perhaps thousands of years previously. With history, many citizens are able to examine what lead to a crisis in a nation such as the Stock Market Crash of 1929 or the Civil War in the 1800s in the United States of America. Likewise, the moments of growth and economic success are looked at. From these past endeavors, the people can examine what went wrong and what went right and determine how they can stop themselves from making similar mistakes or act in a way that has been proven to work. In Eve Kornfeld s Creating an American Culture 1775 1800, many different areas of national identity are discussed, including the beginnings of documenting the history of America as an independent nation. This was especially hard for Americans to create a singular national identity because there was bias in the early works, the different colonies or states were extremely diverse, and many intellectuals had different perspectives on the American identity. At the beginning of the historical documentation of America, many individuals were amateurs and/or biased towards their native state. There were different sides as to what the American Revolutionwas about so, If they wished to preserve their image unsullied by European incursions, Americans would have to develop their own narratives of nationhood (Kornfeld, 40). This brought a movement of amateur writers creating historical

All of the men in this paper believe in this idea that population growth is going to grow faster than the growth of food, but they all have different solutions, and thoughts on the matter. Some believe that population is so out of control that we must contain it, and even find ways to drastically slow it down, while others believe that we need things like aggregate demand in order to keep the growing populations employed and not homeless. The first, and possibly the most intense man I am going to talk about is William Vogt. A huge fan of Thomas Malthus and his ideas, Vogt decided to contribute to the Malthusian movement with the writing of the book Road to Survival . He believed that the fast economic growth, along with the quickly growing fertility rates, would destroy the environment, and would eventually lead our society to mass hunger, disease, and even war. He also believed that this population problem would eventually lead to the collapse of human civilization. Vogt even stated that the day of judgement is at hand as man s

The application of digital computers can be considered as the separation limit of these two phases. Before the application of computers, methods were analytical, simplified or approximate in order to analyze simple and fundamental problems. As the simplified analysis of the early research efforts is not applicable in the analysis of complex Train Track Bridge Interaction (TTBI) problems, this literature review will be focusing mostly on the relatively recent research. 2.2 Bridge Modeling Various types of bridge modeling have been adopted in the study of the Train Track Bridge dynamics. The selection of the model depends on the analysis procedure and intended goals. Some of the most important models are summarized below. Early studies on the TTBI Interaction analysis utilized the continuum models represented by Euler Bernoulli beam equation. These models were used mostly for the simple span bridgeswith limited cross sectional variety. The advantage of these models, in addition to its simplicity, is the ability to obtain a closed form solution. This model is still attractive for researchers who intend to study the Vehicle Bridge Interaction theoretically with closed form equations (Biondi et al., 2005). Euler Bernoulli beam has some simplifications which may not be acceptable in some cases; therefore, other models such as Timoshenko

Newton, who became Hooke s successor as the president of the Royal Society, removed the only portrait of Hooke from the Royal Society. Newton also worked to tarnish Hooke s name and ultimately succeeded for some time. Thanks to Newton, Hooke became a man who seemed vindictive and jealous until long after their

  • 45. The Muted Group Theory Of The World Of Communication Abstract Muted Group Theory is essentially one group being subdued from another dominant group. The most prevalent example throughout society has been men and women, men being the dominant figure, and women being mute. The Muted Group Theory is one that explains why women or other minorities feel more constrained and obligated to conform to dominant figures. In the world of communication, men seem to have more influence over women especially in linguistics. Not only is language an important aspect throughout this theory, advertising has remained a crucial part as well. Advertising depicts women and minorities to be mute throughout images, rather than language. It is important to understand Muted Group Theory when dealing with men and women and the power each gender has. Keywords: muted, men, women, theory, dominant Muted Group Theory When the word mute comes to mind many think of being silent or refraining from speech. Being mute is essential in regards to defining Muted Group Theory because of the specific groups that are inclined to be mute within a society (women and marginalized groups). Muted Group Theory embodies women and other minorities as non existent in terms of communication and social patterns when dealing with men. Both women and minorities are expected to conform to the dominant group, such as men. In terms of communication, language is essentially man made; therefore women have not developed the language to be at equal terms with men, resulting in women

Her father and sweetheart, Homer Barron, died only within a few years apart and this caused her whole world to be turned upside down (323 327). There is some debate as to whether Miss Emily killed her sweetheart or not. When her father died, she was not willing to give up his body to be buried. Later, they found the body of Homer in her house and the town had no clue he had even passed away. According to Cornell Law School, the definition of first degree murderis the intentional killing of another person with planning involved. Miss Emily is guilty of first degree murder because of the smell that came from her house, the poison she purchased from the druggist, and the possibility Homer was only interested in men. At one point in the story, Faulkner writes about a smell that accumulates from Miss Emily s house. According to the story, two years after her father s death and a short time after her sweetheart had deserted her is when the smell first developed (324). The mayor received multiple complaints about the smell but he didn t want to confront Miss Emily about it because she was a high and mighty Grierson (324). He just assumed that the smell was just a rat or a snake that nigger of hers killed in the yard (324). The smell could be a sign of guilt because Miss Emily had to know that Homer s body was creating an intense odor. She had to know because she was living in the
  • 47. Historical Significance Of The Vietnam War The Vietnam War is a blank page in the history of the U.S. foreign policy. As a matter of fact, there have been many public and congressional debates about the American intervention in Vietnam and the morality of the political decision that proved to be fatal for both countries. Undeniably, the Vietnam War belongs in the period of the Turbulent Sixties which along with other tremendous political events such as the Civil War, divided the American society for decades. Until today the memory of the war still haunts the American conscience. Thus, the purpose of the essay is to examine the significance of the VietnamWar as a collective memory in the American society. Specifically, the main focus will be on how the remembrance of the Vietnam War, as well as the U.S. policy has been constructed in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the late twentieth century on, cultural historians and psychologists have stressed the importance of the memory in an attempt to provide insight to the traumatic past and the process of reconciliation, both in the political as well as the cultural domain. Furthermore, memory is considered of high importance when it comes to the formation of identity either for individuals, groups or a nation as a whole. According to Marita Sturken s statements in her book Tangled Memories: The Vietnam War, the AIDS Epidemic, and the Politics of Remembering, memory is crucial to the understanding of a culture precisely because it indicates collective desires, needs, and self definitions (2). Additionally, memory and history are distinct from cultural memory, which is a field of contested meanings that interacts with American cultural elements in order to produce concepts of the nation, particularly in events of trauma, where both the structures and fractures of a culture are exposed (Sturken

Although I have studied Chinese history and have heard of the Mandate of Heaven the detail surrounding it origins eluded me. The Zhou dynasty which defeated the Shang dynasty used the Mandate of Heaven as a way to legitimize their reason for attacking the village/kingdom. There was some discussion about the last King of Shang being corrupt, unfair, and unvirtuous. He was a killer of virtuous ministers. Basically calling the last King of Shang a tyrant, dictator and every horrible thing one can think of even a cannibal. But this account of the last Shang King was written by the Zhou leaders and it stands to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tianming was a way of explaining why a dynasty that had been strong and prosperous is suddenly downtrodden and suffering corruption. Why it was necessary for the failing dynasty to be overthrown. It is interesting that the Mandate can only be used after the previous dynasty has been successfully overthrown. Although the Zhou overthrew the Shang, their dynasties still had many common elements. They both relied on the spiritual world and their deceased ancestors to dictate how they should handle their earthly affairs. The was still a tie between the heavenly world and the earthly realm, so much so that it decided which dynasty had the right to rule. Difference lie in the fact that there are more written records of the Zhou and a reader can see that not only the king and nobles follow ancestor worship. In the Shang, the turtle shells mostly came from the upper families like the King and noble houses. In the Zhou, the written come from the King to the common people. The Zhou also used different ways of divination. It is apparent that like the Shang, the Zhou was a bronze, warrior driving

The Lives Of Minimum Wage Workers As an investigative approach to study the lives of minimum wage workers, journalist Barbara Ehrenreich conducted this research by assuming multiple low paid positions herself. Her essential goal for this study was to determine how low paid workers survive on their income. She began her adjustment to the working class lifestyle by establishing regulations for herself to eliminate any advantages from her real life that could alleviate her throughout the process. In doing so, she abandoned all of the luxuries that her middle class career afforded her, such as a comfortable living environment, fresh quality meals, and working independently. Immersing herself into this lifestyle allowed her to witness the arduous circumstances of low wageliving that she could not have experienced otherwise. After finding a temporary residence in an efficiency apartment within a forty five minute drive from the prospective employment options in Key West, Florida, Ehrenreich attempts to find a low paying job that could defray her living expenses. She applies for multiple jobs and waits a couple of days until she is hired as a waitress at a restaurant attached to a hotel that she calls Hearthside. During the first few weeks as a waitress, Ehrenreich is concerned with being an effective worker and providing a convivial atmosphere for the customers. She soon discovers that the onerous demands of waitressing can only be alleviated by desensitising herself to the quality of her work. Upon doing so,
