The movie Friday Night Lights is based on a book by author H.G. Bissinger. It
takes place at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas in 1988 when tension
between races was still strong in some areas of the south. There is a focus in some
areas of the film having to do with the racial tension and ongoing conflict between
the student body and the city as a whole. Even though desegregation had happened
by the time the book was written and the film was made, schools sometimes were
still racially divided. I also felt the movie showed how this football program
exploited their black athletes. Of interest to me was, the following of two of the
main football players who are black. Boobie Miles and Ivory Christian. They are as
well respected as their white equivalents on the football field but, it illustrates how
attitudes change when the players walk off the field. The movie touches on the
many controversial subjects like, racism, hypocrisy, and failure where as the book
is extremely socially oriented, and centered primarily on racial issues and
educational priorities. The film touches on these issues, but, as I wrote, it is not the

There are many types of ways kids acquire an education today; some of these happen
to be public and public schools. Some assume that private schools offer superior
everything, justifying their tuition costs (Great Schools Staff). In that case, people
automatically convey the false belief that private schools have a much better form of
education. In reality, education in a Public school is highly more advanced and
experienced than any particular Private school, because of their social involvements
being opened to try new things, accumulating more experience for a smaller cost, and
having no limitations nor boundaries that will minimize student s skills and
capabilities.
Public schools have been around for decades, and have formed one of our main
options to pursue an education in the 21st century. Researchers mentioned, We
analyzed instructors and performance for over 300,000 elementary and middle
school students in 15,108 public, charter, and private schools. What we found
surprised us (Valerie Strauss). The experience these public schools carry is real, from
having a variety of students who practice different types of religion, to having people

Jeffrey Deaver, a mystery and crime writer says, Criminalistics doesn t exist in a
vacuum. The more you know about your environment, the better you can apply it
(Deaver, 1997). Fingerprinting: History and Background
The use of fingerprints and handprint patterns as a means of personal identification
dates back to thousands of years. There were archaeological records of the usage
of these by the Chinese dating back to 2000 years ago (Stuart James, 2014, p. 331).
As a matter of fact, in Babylon and ancient China, fingerprints were routinely
pressed into clay tablets (Figure 1). It is thought that this was done for purposes of
authenticating or perhaps just out of superstition (Farelo, 2009). However, Sir
William Herschel, a British administrator is credited for being the first European to
recognize the value of fingerprinting as a means of personal identification. When he
was working for the Civil Service of India, he entered into a contract with a local
businessman and asked him to put his right hand print on the back of the contract
(Stuart James, 2014, p. 331). Apparently, in that part of the country, traces of bodily
impressions were considered more binding than signatures (Saferstein, 2011, p. 4).

Importance Of Learning To Read And Writing In English
Learning to read and write in English was a very tough accomplishment that I made
in first grade. It was difficult because my first language is Spanish. With the help of
my parents and my teachers in school, I had the chance to learn another language. It
took time, practice and effort to accomplish my goal to read and write in another
language.
The earliest memory of literacy was spending time as a young child, with my mother,
reading the Clifford the Big Red Dog book. Learning how to read this book felt like it
took me six million years to do so, but eventually, I learned. As I read the Clifford
book, I struggled to pronounce every single word. My mother tried her best to teach
me how to sound each syllable. Cli fford, you ha ve to eat up and get big, I said. I
read it at a low volume, and my voice was shaky and cracking. I didn t know if I was
reading it right. I had a rough time improving my reading level. Besides Clifford
the Big Red Dog, I read The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister. At home, I watched
plenty of English movies and television shows such as Dora the Explorer to help
develop my English literacy. I enjoyed watching those shows because they helped me
a lot.
In first grade, the teachers spend time teaching us how to learn the alphabet, how
to sound each letter, how to pronounce words that we didn t understand and how to
use words in complete sentences. I started to gain knowledge of what were
adjectives, verbs, nouns, pronouns. Also, I learned that what makes a story is
characters, a setting, a climax, etc. My encouraging English Teacher would meet
up with each of us individually and made us read aloud so she can see what our
reading level is. She saw that I struggled, so she used her teaching techniques to
help me get better at reading. After I finished first grade, my teacher scheduled a
parent meeting with my mother, and she gave my mother the option to send me to
summer school so I can take an English class and receive more help so I could get
better at writing and reading in English. Summer was taking forever. I felt frustrated
because It felt that no matter how much I tried to learn how to read and progress in
my reading level, it got way more difficult. I felt like giving up at some point
