1. Drug Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Drug Essays" can be a challenging endeavor, primarily due to
the complex nature of the subject matter. Addressing issues related to drug use involves
navigating through a myriad of interconnected topics, such as the societal impact, legal aspects,
health consequences, and the intricate web of factors contributing to drug addiction.
One of the difficulties lies in striking a balance between providing an informative overview and
delving into the depth of each sub-topic. Tackling the societal perspective requires addressing the
cultural attitudes towards drugs, the prevalence of substance abuse, and the ripple effects on
communities. Simultaneously, exploring the legal landscape involves discussing the enforcement
of drug laws, the consequences of criminalization, and the ongoing debates on drug policy
reform.
Health-related aspects further complicate the task. Detailing the physiological and psychological
effects of various drugs demands a nuanced understanding of pharmacology and psychology.
Moreover, analyzing the treatment options available and their effectiveness requires a grasp of
the evolving field of addiction medicine.
Furthermore, the challenge lies in avoiding oversimplification. The interconnectedness of factors
contributing to drug abuse demands a comprehensive approach that recognizes the multifaceted
nature of the issue. Developing a coherent narrative that synthesizes information from various
disciplines while maintaining clarity is no small feat.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on "Drug Essays" involves navigating through a complex web of
topics, requiring a deep understanding of societal, legal, and health-related aspects. The challenge
lies not only in presenting information comprehensively but also in weaving these diverse threads
into a cohesive narrative.

2. Descriptive Narrative Story
In hindsight, I realize I was not ready for a job, maybe I was just too immature.
That Thursday night, in what felt like an empty cold room, I lay there crying,
wishing for everything to be over. It all started the day I turned 15, I was just a
young man, who for some reason decided that it was time to get a real job.
I woke up that hot summer day and decided that it was time I go out and apply for
some jobs. I chose to apply at my favorite restaurant, not knowing that it would be
one of the worst ideas I have ever had. I remember it took about three weeks for a
response, those three weeks felt like years waiting and waiting not hearing a thing,
until finally I got the call. I remember walking in for my interview all dressed up,
with my hair looking shinier than the paint on my car, slicked back like G Eazy.
As I walked in I was greeted by the store manager a middle aged woman with wildly
frizzy hair, her face resembling someone who just ran a 5K. Rushing me to a table
she sat down quickly, short of breath, she makes out the words Hi my name is
Meeghan . Nervously, I greeted her instantly Andrew, Andrew Sherman nice to meet
you realizing how dumb that sounded I felt a rush through my body, my face
getting hotter and hotter as if I just drank a whole bottle of sriracha. I could not
believe how fast I got nervous, I thought for sure there wasn t going to be a problem
because I practiced this one interview at least a thousand times.
During the interview Meeghan brought me

4. The Discovery Of A Forensic Anthropologist And Mystery...
Introduction
In many years, scientific and technological principles have been portrayed and
been popular in many television shows and movies. In year 2005, a television
show that is based on real life story of a forensic anthropologist and mystery novels
writer Keith Reich was made to a television show. Hart Hanson created the shows
entitled Bones on which the story is based on a forensic anthropologist who is
teamed up with FBI agent that focus on scientific process to solved the mystery of
human remains, specifically human bones. In many episodes of Bones, the scientific
process that always present is on how the team can manage to identify the human
remains with the process of carbon dating that became a topic of interest of many
critics and viewers of the shows. Like many science oriented shows, bones was
made from Hollywood that viewers questioned or argued about how the science
process or carbon dating can really identify the age of human remains and how
accurate the show bones in real life.
Carbon dating
According to Brad Peroney (2014), Carbon dating compares the amount of
radioactive carbon to ordinary carbon in old objects to figure out how long ago
something, or someone lived (Peroney, 2014). Carbon dating also called as
radioactive carbon or carbon 14 dating is a method of age determination that depends
upon the decay to nitrogen of radiocarbon (carbon dating, 2015).Carbon 14 is
continually formed in nature by the interaction of neutrons with nitrogen 14 in the

simply have lost interest. The main reason for this lack of interest, naturally, is the
lack of content that should publish the blogger. By adding good material regularly

6. A Brief Biography of Ivan the Terrible
Ivan IV Vasilyevich (1530 1584), was the first of two children of Basil III and
Elena Glinskaya. Ivan came into the world on August 25, 1530. Nearly a year after
this Ivan s father died when he was only three. Basil had died due to a small, little
pimple on his thigh that had developed into a deadly sore. Basil requested at his
deathbed that his son Ivan would become the ruler of Russiawhen he became a man
at age 15. Once Basil died the boyars took over Russia, denying Ivan s right to the
throne. Ivan s mother then with other trusted boyars took over the ruling party.
Elena was able to successfully rule Russia for four years, until she died suddenly in
1538, apparently from poisoning, leaving eight year old Ivan an orphan. They had
ended and that Ivan had complete power. On Sunday, January 16, 1547, Ivan was
crowned czar in Moscow s lavish Cathedral of the Assumption. Ivan soon married
Anastasia Romanovna Zakharyina Yurueva. Anastasia bore him six children of
whom only two survived infancy. At times Ivan was very devote; he used to throw
himself before the icons, banging his head against the floor. It resulted in a callosity
at his forehead. Once Ivan even did a public confession of his sins in Moscow.
During the beginning of Ivan s reign, the administrative functions of the government
were handled by two brothers of Ivan s mother, Prince Yuri Glinsky and Prince
Mikhail Glinsky abused their position in the government, mistreating the boyars and
the citizens. Ivan vowed to
7. Faux Painting Techniques
Adding a touch of elegance to any room in the home is easy with one of the many
faux painting techniques, and painting with a natural sea sponge gives you a
chance to create a beautiful aged or textured look. The irregular bumps and holes
found on a sponge leave natural patterns in the paint. Using two or more colors
creates a faux finish that can mimic rough plaster, rich velvet wallpaper or expensive
stone. Examine the material you want to mimic in depth to pick the colors you need
and determine which kind of sponge will work best.
Picking a sponge based faux finish offers a variety of benefits to DIY painters.
Sponge painting requires less preparation. You can apply both a base and top color
with the sponge, eliminating the extra step of painting the wall before you start.
Sponge painting also allows you to take breaks and work on small sections of a wall
at a time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
High gloss acrylic wall paint works just as well as enamel or latex products with a
natural sea sponge. Pick up at least three different colors. Look for the base color, a
lighter version to match it and a contrasting accent color. Use the color cards at the
paint store to create a complementary palette. Start with the light shade first, and dab
a little on the wall. Leave a few empty areas between dabs, and then fill those
spaces in with your primary base coat color. Dip between the two colors freely to
blend them together smoothly on the wall. Once you have a base with the right
texture, add some contrast with your third color. Add more of each color until you
have achieved the faux finish you are looking for.
Faux painting is an art form, so don t be discouraged if you don t get perfect results
on your first try. Adjusting your pattern as you work will help you create exactly the
finish you want. Practice on some leftover drywall or plywood first to get a feel for
the technique of painting with a natural sea sponge.

8. Freud s Early Stages Of Gender Development Essay
Freud s early stages of gender development
Freud s psychosexual analysis of gender development emphasizes on impact of
sexuality in human behavior. He believed that an infant was born with immense
sexual desires and aggressive instinct. At each stage the sexual energies shift focus on
different erogenous zones. Also, according to him the child undergoes a constant
struggle between acting based on libidinal instincts and conforming to societal norms
and culture. In this struggle a child s libidinal energy is suppressed and directed onto
culturally accepted activities.

9. Summary Of Monster By Walter Dean Myers
How does one know if they can trust themself that what they believe to be the truth
is really true? Sometimes one can lie to themself without even knowing it, other
times one worries that they are lying to themself, but they cannot tell if they are. In
Monster by Walter Dean Myers, Steve Harmon and James King are put on trial for
the felony murder of a drug store owner, Mr. Nesbitt. During his jail time due to the
trial, he writes a movie script and journal entries, which is how the information is
presented to the reader. Kathy O Brien, Harmon s lawyer, helps him to be innocent in
the eyes of the jury while the prosecutor, Sandra Petrocelli, and King s lawyer, Asa
Briggs attempt to link Harmon to King. Throughout Harmon s writing, it is evident
10. Pope Admiring Belinda in The Rape of the Lock Essay
Pope Admiring Belinda in The Rape of the Lock
The main character of Pope s The Rape of the Lock could be considered both hailed
and damned by the overseer, but the complexities and sometimes contradictions of
Belinda spark a more unbiased view.
The appearance of Belinda and the world in which she lives is described in a very
fantastical and beautiful way. Even small details such as the arrangement of Belinda s
hair are due to wondrous entities known as the Sylphs, whose sole task is to make
sure she is looking her best. This consideration of appearance in The Rape of the
Lock is very important as the society that Belinda lives within is very judgmental on
the basis of appearance, especially for women. Her role

In many couplets he pairs something epic, which starts off the couplet, with a trivial
anti climax. The method of writing within
The Rape of the Lock is mock epic and serves the purpose of criticising the negative
themes within the poem by revealing them to the extreme.
Although Belinda is very superficial she does have an aura that makes her
admirable, and Pope does not look over this. She makes it known that she is quite
pure and innocent and with this innocence it is easier to overlook to the arguably
negative traits that she holds. The social rules within her society mean that she is
condoned to act the way she does and through her innocence she does. She is
arguably innocent considering sex and her own sexuality even though she portrays
as beautiful an image as she can. Her physical gifts though could be argued, in her
eyes, to be prettiness and nothing to do with sexuality. Understanding the possibility
of her being innocent, there are also undercurrents that she is not so pure as she
would have the other people within the poem believe. As an example, after the lock
is stolen she tells the Baron that he could have had a more private lock of hair of her
own free will. Although all that can be ordained is assumptions, through the language
that Pope uses it is pretty safe to assume that the innuendo in her speech is intentional.

leadership he can sometimes be a democratic leader. He will discuss with his
subordinates about things that is necessary for him to get an overview of his way
to rule the nation. Sometimes he sits together with his high officers in the army to
plan ways to conquer other land and there is also a time when he wanted to launch

Zombie Apocalypse Legislation Although some might think the zombie apocalypse
is a far fetched idea spawned from a doomsday prepper s wildest dreams, it is
actually a highly likely scenario which should be considered with a sober mind.
Based off other sicknesses which have arisen in recent and older times, such as
Ebola, the black plague, and cholera, we can see that without the right preventative
and emergency measures, any sickness can return after any amount of time in a
stronger and different form harder to beat than the last time. In order to prevent
massive outbreaks like these from happening, which might resurrect corpses that start
eating the living, California needs to enact legislation that protects everyone from
zombies. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, California needs to declare martial
law, create quarantines for those doomed to die, restrict anyone from leaving or
entering the state, strip away the basic human rights of the zombies, and commence
mandatory dental procedures.
In order to protect the citizens of California from the walking dead as well as
widespread panic and anarchy, martial law needs to be enacted. Martial law would
be extremely helpful because it allows habeas corpus to be suspended for a limited
amount of time (Neocleous, 2014). While this would be a very bad thing in times
of peace, it would be extremely beneficial in case of the zombie apocalypse. Civilians
would need to have a curfew to
13. Theme Of Religion In A Thousand Splendid Suns
Is religion alone that powerful enough to coerce an abundance of immigrants to start
afresh with a new country? One of the main reasons immigrants move to the United
States or any nation for that matter is for religious freedom and independence. In A
Thousand Splendid Suns, readers follow the lives and narratives of two different
women and their struggle to survive their brutal society. Through the book, the
subject of religion and its impact on the two women is broached and further
explored. In Khaled Hosseini s A Thousand Splendid Suns, religion serves as
justification of several aspects of the Afghan society; religion is used to justify
violence, patriarchy, and discrimination against women.

These differences that the Talib speaks of is one of main ways patriarchy is
defended, since God made man and woman differently, the Afghan community
assumes that they must be treated differently as well. Also, there must be one sex
that is superior to the other then, many communities along with the Afghan
community chose to place men above women due to sexist beliefs of the
characteristics of a man which should be strong, confident, overbearing, and sex
driven and the characteristics of a woman which should be quiet, obedient, and
nurturing. When the Talib mentions of how we require only one male witness but
two female ones (Hosseini 324) in the court process, he reveals the extent to which
patriarchal views are woven into the fabric of society, as far as the criminal justice
process. For Mariam, this means that her chances of winning in court is very low
since there was only one witness, another woman, Laila, so the court is less likely
to believe or take into account Laila s words. Religion impacts Mariam s life by
plaguing the minds of the courts and judges with her inferiority as a woman which
inevitably leads to a flawed rationale rectifying her severe punishment as a result.
Women are discriminated against because since religion is connected deeply to
culture, it is only normal for them to be circumscribed for their own good. Rasheed
finds modern Afghanistan women and their behaviors such as not wearing
14. Historical Context of Barn Burning Essay
William Faulkner s Barn Burning takes a lot of real life cultural values and ways of
southern life in the late 1800s. Many of those values and ways are expressed by
sharecropping and tenant farming. Sharecropping and tenant farming began during
the end of the Civil war all through the great depression. Sharecroppingis an
agreement between a tenant and a landlord in which a tenant farmeris allowed to work
and live on a piece of land for free, but in exchange for living there for free, they give
the landlord a share of the crop they grow. Sharecropping was mainly big in the
southern states where slavery was once legal. The pay for being a tenant farmer was
very low and the living itself was not very desirable. In Faulkner s... Show more

These types of arrangements were quite common at this time between sharecroppers
and their landlords. The sharecroppers had little to no money, so the landlords
would charge them for items, or take an extra percentage of their crops. The setting
of this story is very important because it gives you a sense of what life was like back
during the late 1800s. Barn Burning takes place in the south after the civil war. After
the civil war, the south was in the period of reconstruction. A lot of the south was
destroyed from the war, and it affected everyone in the south from their economy, to
their personal lives. Many people lived impoverished like the Snopes family. Abner
Snopes holds a lot of resentment because he couldn t be successful in his life.
Instead of changing his life and working hard, he resents everything and everyone
around him. This attitude eventually leads to his downfall. William Faulkner s Barn
Burning takes a lot of real life situations and puts them into fiction. He is able to put
the life around him in to stories of fiction.

16. Examples Of Betrayal In Uglies By Scott Westerfeld
How would someone feel if they have known someone their entire life and all of a
sudden they turn their back on them? Tally Youngblood managed to hurt Shay,
Corey, and Paris s feelings in the book, Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld. Tally struggles
to decide what to do when faced with difficult decisions and this causes her to have a
weaker relationship with her friends. Being betrayed is what many characters
experience throughout Uglies. This theme is relevant throughout the book, because
everyone that runs into Tally ends up being betrayed by her in some way. Tally
just wants to become a pretty like everyone else when they turn sixteen and has the
operation done. When reaching the age to become pretty she ends up being
disloyal to her friends and Dr. Cable. Tally wants to be with her best friend Peris
again, and to do that, he tells her to stay out of trouble until after she turns pretty.
Instead, she gets herself into a disaster with Shay and breaks the promise she made
to him. Tally betrayed Peris because her desires for helping out Shay were more
important to her than to become pretty , at the time. Another situation Tally was
disloyal to someone was when she chose to help out Special Circumstances. This
caused her to stab Shay in the back . While arriving to the Smoke, she chose her
own desires instead of helping her friend. This soon changes once she makes it there
and meets new people. Maddy and Az are the ones to open her eyes on what really

The choices she contrived throughout the book caused her to betray her friends,

17. Steve Jobs Pathos Analysis
1. In his speech, Steve Jobs presents several elements of pathos. Write down five of
the examples that involve Jobs use of pathos and explain why he shares these
elements with the audience.
The first story that uses pathos was the one he told about his biological mother
giving him up for adoption. The second story that uses pathos was the story he told
about how his parents that adopted him wanted a girl at first. He also mentions
that his real mother almost didn t sign the paper to let him be adopted after she
found out that the couple that wanted to adopt him had not been to college. The
third story that uses pathos was the story he told about dropping out of college. He
had a huge money struggle during this time and even had to sleep on the floors of
his friends dorms nightly. His fourth story that uses pathos was the one he told about
getting fired from his own company. This story had to hit the heart of many because
it tells the story of how he gets fired from something that he created. His fifth story
that uses pathos was the story he told about death. This story told about how he
overcame cancer and how scared he was through it all. Jobs shared all of these tragic
stories with the audience to try and connect to them. He most likely thought that if he
could connect with the emotional side of the audience that they would really listen.
In other words he did this to gain their attention so that they would actually listen to
him and hopefully be inspired about his life story.
2. Look back over the speech and find a line that is filled with ethos. Write it down.
What does this fact show us about Jobs?
We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a
garage into a $2 billion company with over 4,000 employees. This fact shows us
that he was just a normal person just like us, and that he started out on his own. It
shows us how far he truly has come. It also allows people to realize that they can do
anything they set their mind to, just like Jobs did.
3. Explain how a random calligraphy class that Jobs took at Reed College in the
1970s impacted the way you create documents today. What is Jobs larger point in
telling the audience about the calligraphy class?
Steve Jobs is the man
18. Dualism In Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde
In the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Robert Louis Stevenson creates a
Victorian variation circulating around the idea of a mad scientist and their
monster, which was first popularized by Mary Shelley s Frankenstein in 1818.
Stevenson s monster, however, is not synthetically created of stitched together
body parts, but instead it merges from the dark side of human nature. In the novel,
human nature is demonstrated as possessing two forms, leaving the readers with
the question of what truly embodies these forms. Do we all have a good and evil
side? Stevenson portrays the dual nature of humanity, the good and bad, through
the perspective of one man Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde but also of the society as a
whole. The duality of human nature is most vividly seen in Dr. Jekyll. He
reminisces on his younger days when he was driven to reflect deeply and
inveterately on his discovery of dualism (Stevenson, 2003, p. 48). It was on the
moral side, and in my own person, that I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the additional characters in the novel, there are other
examples of duality. Throughout the novel, readers notice that most of the actions
occur during the night where evildoers are most present. The city of London,
where the novel takes place, is depicted in contrasting terms foggy, gloomy and
frightening place but also an ordered, bustling center of commerce. Stevenson
depicts it as By ten o clock, when the shops were closed, the by street was very
solitary and, in spite of the low growl of London from all around, very silent
(Stevenson, 2003, p.15). Another significant element includes the fact that Hyde
enters and leaves Dr. Jekyll s house through the back, which is a metaphor for the
lies and secrets that hide behind the façade of civilization. Dr. Jekyll is aware of
his villainous nature and succeeds with his experiments in freeing the devilish side
of him, Mr. Hyde, so that he can enjoy a life unburdened by the opinions of
19. Alcoholism As A Family Disease
It is estimated that the number of adults, in the United States, who abuse alcohol or
are alcohol dependent is approximates 17.6 million, or 8.46 percent of adults
(Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2015). These statistics
present a primary health concern (Hart Kisr, 2013). Still yet, an additional concern is
warranted because of the family influences on the development of problems with
alcohol and the risk for family members developing alcoholismand other mental or
behavioral issues (National Institute on Alcohol Abuseand Alcoholism, 2005).
Evidence points to problems with alcohol that are associated with various family
factors, such as spousal and parental use, use by children, family principles and
attitudes about alcohol consumption, dynamics of family and patterns of
relationship, and interplay of alcohol with biological and genetic factors (NIAAA,
2005). Alcoholism is considered a family disease all members are affected, thus,
those who are concerned the most about the alcoholic are affected the most (Al
Anon Family Group, 2008). For this reason, Al Anon offers peer support in an
environment of hope, strength and offers experience in managing an alcoholic
loved one (Al Anon Family Group, 2008). This paper presents a brief history of the

20. Taking a Look at the Ipad Mini
Tablet Computer IPAD MINI Tablet PC is another mobile PC for mobile users. The
tablet form factor is typically smaller than a notebook computer but larger than a
smart phone. It is highly compact and easy to carry. Tablet PC mainly uses the screen
for both input and output. Additional features may include speakers, microphones
and cameras. It is a wireless personal computerin the form of a notebook and that
allows a user to hand write notes with a stylus or digital pen on a touch screen.
Most tablets are slightly smaller and weigh less than the average laptop. While
some tablets include fold out keyboards, others, such as the Apple I Pad, only offer
touch screen input. Many tablets now support multi touch input, which allows you
to perform gestures with multiple fingers, such as pinching an image to zoom out,
or spreading your fingers apart to zoom in. Tablets without physical keyboards
allow you to enter text using a pop up keyboard that appears on the screen. Since
tablets do not use a traditional keyboard and mouse as their primary forms of input,
the user interface of a tablet is different than a typical laptop. For example, instead
of double clicking to open a program, most applications open with a single tap.
Instead of clicking on a scroll bar to scroll through a window, most tablet applications
allow you to swipe up and down anywhere within a window to scroll through the
content. Since tablet PCs provide a different interface than traditional computers, they

The Outsiders English teachers in middle schools and high schools have been
through many debates over the years on whether or not a certain book should be
taught to students in United States public schooling systems. The Outsiders, is a
book that should not be on the list of banned books. Believe it or not the book has
been banned from schools and libraries. The Outsiders should not be banned because
it provides valuable life lessons involving loyalty. Books like this one, that involve
gangmembers, fighting, shooting, stabbing and other gory incidents, should be
portrayed to kids in middle schooland beyond. This generation that people are
growing up in nowadays is a weak, soft generation who need to realize that the
world is not always going to be kind to them. The neighborhoods that a lot of kids
live in are safe environments, which is not a bad thing, but they are unaware of the
horrible things that go on in the ghettos or other places in our nation. Books are a
great way to reach out to kids and show them valuable life lessons while also giving
them learning experiences through that English class they are enrolled in. The
author of this novel, The Outsiders, Susan Eloise Hinton, is a very popular author
of young adult fiction stories and she is especially popular in the Oklahoma area
because she makes the setting in a lot of her books from that area. She wrote the
books That Was Then, This Is Now, Rumble Fish, Tex, and Taming The Star Runner.

System
I chose to write about the digestive system and the cardiovascular system. In the
digestive system, the major organs are salivary glands, esophagus, stomach, small
intestine, large intestine, rectum and anus. There are accessory organs which are the
liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. The major components are the month, teeth,, tongue,
and epiglottis. Food enters the mouth and the salvia starts the digestive process by
starting to break down the food. The teeth chew the food while the tongue is pushing
the food to the back of the throat. When the food is swallowed the epiglottis keeps
the food from going down the wrong way. The food hen goes down the esophagus
where it then goes to the stomach. Just before the food enters the stomach there is...

When eating a meal the gallbladder then contracts which sends bile to the small
intestine. Then the nutrients gets absorbed into the blood stream, there is leftover
liquid that passes into the small intestate. What food that is left over then travels to
the large intestine. The large intestine is a 5 6 foot long muscular tube that connects
the cecum which is the first part of the large intestine to the rectum and the last part
of the large intestine . The large intestine is made up of the cecum, which is the
ascending right colon, the transverse colon, the descending colon, and the sigmoid
colon, that connects to the rectum. Stool, or waste left over from the digestive
process, is passed through the colon by means of peristalsis, first in a liquid state and
ultimately in solid form as the water is removed from the stool. A stool is stored in
the sigmoid colon until there is a movement to release the stool into the rectum twice
a day. When the descending colon becomes full it then empties the contents into the
rectum. The rectum is an 8 inch chamber that connects the colon to the

Abstract In this paper we present a Natural language processing for Sanskrit using
Different approaches. Sanskrit is a oldest and considered as the mother of all
languages. The Sanskrit, the world s ancient language has got a wealthy grammar.
The Sanskrit grammar text Ashtadhyayi is written by Panini (an Indian Sage).
Sanskrit is a well suitable language for providing an advanced artificial intelligence

Natural language processing: Natural language is the embodiment of human cognition
and human intelligence. Natural language processing (NLP) is a cross disciplinary
field in computer science and linguistics where a computer can generate and
understand human speech. It is the ability of a computer program to understand
human speech as it is spoken. NLP is a component of artificial intelligence (AI).The
development of NLP applications is challenging because computers traditionally
require humans to speak

Warren Bennis once said leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality .
Throughout my fourteen year military career I have been shown many good and
bad examples of how a leader should act to turn their visions into reality. It is from
these very leaders that I too have learned to become a leader myself and it has
helped me further my career. It however took time and experience for my leadership
skills to develop. Throughout this paper I will show how my militaryexperiences has
taught me to become a good leader. I was born from immigrant parents and my
main goal in life was to be part of the greatest army in the world and I always had
the mindset that nothing was going to stop me from achieving that. Back in 2003 I

Throughout this first deployment I learned from observing good leaders, bad
leaders, and toxic leaders. All of them whether good or bad helped shape my
career. These leaders helped me to see a bigger picture of who I wanted to become
and and also how I didn t want to lead. On our return home from deployment we
were treated like heroes. People at the airport cheered for us and expressed their
gratitude for our service and sacrifice for our country. In those moments I felt a
great sense of accomplishment that almost made it all worth wile. And it made me
also want to become better leader so I could go out there and do it again for my
country. After being back home for seven months we received news that we were
going right back to Iraq. This time with a new wheeled fighting platform strikers , to
which I was more than happy to raise my hand and ask Uncle Sam to put me in for
five more years. Throughout this deployment I noticed some progress compared to
the last deployment to Iraq. Although, the Improvised Explosive Device (IED), small

27. Health And Behavior Change Analysis
The local, state and national, government has many roles and responsibilities in
health and behavior change (Altman, 2001). An effective public health system that
can assure the nation s health requires the collaborative efforts of a complex network
of people and organizations in the public and private sectors, as well as an alignment
of policy and practice of governmental public healthagencies at the national, state, and
local levels.
In the United States, governments at all levels federal, state, and local have a specific
responsibility to strive to create the conditions in which people can be as healthy as
possible which implement health and behavior change. In the government, policy
makers can play their role within the public health

Abstract
Education in India has a very long history. As knowledge is a very important source
of India s competitiveness. But India s ability to tap and nurture the competitiveness
would depend on how well education is institutionalized. Education has become India
s super infrastructure . When the whole world was deep asleep in darkness of
ignorance Indians were busy discovering new things. Even today India has largest
number of graduates in the world. In the nearly 50 years since independence, India
has built a university education system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And this is precisely the reason why amongst various other fields of knowledge,
desire for acquiring management qualifications is growing, both amongst the fresh
graduates and working executives. During the past two decades, India has made
enormous strides in its economic and social development. But the greatest challenge
to India is, to convert its large human resource base to knowledge workers, equipped
with multiple skills that can harness and take advantage of this booming knowledge
economy.
Higher Education in India is one of the most developed in the entire world. There has
in fact been considerable improvement in the higher education scenario of India in
both quantitative and qualitative terms. In technical education, the IITs, and in
management, the IIMs have already marked their names among the top higher
educational institutes of the world. Moreover the Jawaharlal University and Delhi
University are also regarded as good higher educational institutes for doing
postgraduates courses and research in science, humanities and social sciences. As a
result, students from various parts of the world are coming today for higher
education in India.
After liberalization many multi national companies entered in India due to which the
demand for professionals increased. With establishment of many private institutions,
professional education now moved

31. Polarization In American Politics
Introduction
Of the many conversations pertaining to the United States on a global scale, the
presumed superpower has found itself as the center of a myriad of debates
concerning its probable demise as a hegemon. Many experts conclude that this
decline is a result of threats imposed by emerging powers like Russia and China. I
argue that the internal issues of polarization and trust in the government are
potentially paving the path of slow decline for the United States on an international
level. As this paper aims to support my argument, the first portion will describe the
U.S. s rising political gap, as well as its correlation to the American public s low
level of confidence in the federal government s performance. The second section of

Overall, polarization has become one of the defining characteristics of American
politics in the 21st century. While much attention is paid to the bipolar makeup of
Congress, the congressional divide is a reflection of the ideological, and now
political, divide amongst the American public. What is the explanation for this
widening gap between the two political parties? Essentially, there is not a sole cause
leading to a polarized public, rather a myriad of actors on all levels, and in various
ways, that have aided in fostering and maintaining a polarized environment in the
United States. Thus, in order to get along with this study in a timely manner, I will
only address the three trends explaining polarization that are most significant to the
conclusion I aim to
32. The Zone Diet Analysis
The Zone Diet was created by Dr. Barry Sears to reduce diet induced inflammation.
The Zone is a psychological state in the body that can be measured in different
tests. If the dieter is in the zone they have optimized their ability to control diet
induced inflammation. The inflammation is the reason the person gains weight,
becomes sick, and possibly aging faster. There are three clinical markers that define if
a person is in a zone, if all three are not met then the person is not considered in the
zone. To be in the zone a person s TG/HDL level needs to be less than one, AA/EPA
ratio between 1.5 and 3, and HbA1c at 5%. The Zone Dietrequires that the person
balances their plate at every meal or snack with the three macronutrients, protein,
33. Analysis Of Pat Barker As A Memory
A memory has different ways to function that varies from one person to another.
The memory itself is defined as the faculty by which the mind stores and
remembers information. Trauma is something else that can be attached to a
memory and it is defined as a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. Memory
plays a tremendous role in our lives as well as in our society. A memory can
prevent us from making mistakes as well as it can haunt us to the point of
breakdown. Are all memories worth to be reminded of? In Regeneration by Pat
Barker as well as in The IMIGRANTS by W.G. Sebald we see a flow of narratives
that underline traumatic memories. On this paper, we will focus our attention on
Billy Prior, one of the characters in Regeneration, and Ambros Adelwarth of The
Emigrants who are somehow fighting their memories.
Billy Prior and Ambros Adelwarth both represent a strong problem of memory, they
both have a clear memory of their past, but sharing them is one of the problems in
the first place. Let begin by talking about Billy Prior, a conflicted and complicated
character being a soldier who had had a difficult life, both at war and at home as he
mentions to Rivers about the front: Look, you might like to think it s one big
happy family out there, but it s not (Regeneration, pg. 53). His experience in the
army was not as happy as he had imagined it could be since he believed that he did
not really fit in his previous job as a clerk in a shipping office, but that he would

Wavelet transform is efficient tool for image compression,
Wavelet transform gives multiresolution image decomposition. which can .be
exploited through vector quantization to achieve high compression ratio. For vector
quantization of wavelet coefficients vectors are formed by either coefficients at same
level, different location or different level, same location.
This paper compares the two methods and shows that because of wavelet properties,
vector quantization can still improve compression results by coding only important
vectors for reconstruction. Thus giving priority to the important vectors higher
compression can be achieved at better quality. The algorithm is also useful for

dependency and improves compression.
If we take into consideration HVS response, all the coefficients are not important for
image representation. This visual redundancy can be removed to improve the
compression ratio further [5]. Edges in the image are more imponant for good quality
image reconstruction. Vectors giving edge information are more important .Giving

Wavelet decomposition represents edges in horizontal vertical and diagonal
direction. If we code only the coefficients representing edges, image reconstruction at
reduced rate is possible. To find edge region, variance of the adjacent coefficients can
be considered. In vector quantization if the vectors are formed with adjacent
coefficients from the same band at same
Location, variance of the vectors represent edge region.
Quality of the reconstructed image by coding only high variance vectors is much
better than interband vector quantiation. Codebook is generated including high
variance vectors from training images. This results into close match for important
vectors and improves quality [6].

these tannin consuming species have possibly evolutionized to develop an effective
iron absorption mechanism or if they could spare the regulation mechanism, as
excessive iron uptake would not occur in nature. Although these species consume
large amounts of tannin rich foods in the wild, captive diets can have a lack of them,

However, it seems that it s not specifically limited to the consistent high iron diets
that are provided at zoos, but in combination with high amounts of ascorbic acid and
the lack of foods rich in iron chelating compounds such as tannins that some species
consume in the wild. Unfortunately, the implementation of iron chelating compounds
in captive diets seems to be irregular and the disorder is still consistently diagnosed
upon necropsy. To further understand how to manage this disorder, the captive diets
of known iron sensitive species should be analyzed and adjusted to meet nutritional
needs without any deficiencies or excess and monitored accordingly. According to a
study, only one facility (the San Diego Zoo) has stated that they have attempted to
develop low iron diets for captive lemurs. (Wood, Fang, Hunt, Streich, Clauss, 2003)
As for the knowledge that is available and agreed upon with the tannin theory, it
seems suiting to implement food sources containing these compounds into the diets
of animals that consume it in the wild. It would be beneficial for facilities
maintaining captive animal populations to further investigate and match the natural
diets of animals showing sensitivity to particular nutrients for optimal

The article of Yasheng HuangпјЊnamed how did China take offпјЊdiscussing on
economic growth mechanism, mainly come to China s economic reform had the
process of financial liberalization. Furthermore, he pointed out that political reform,
financial liberalization and the development of township enterprises are the key focus
on China s development.
Huang argues that the results of China s economic development are mainly due to
internal reforms which are the reforms of China s rural industry. On the contrary,
external reforms which made the contribution in the political sense, such as the
establishment of special economic zones and foreign direct investment(FDI) , is not a
general function as township and village enterprises(TVEs) did in China s economic
development.
Huang s paper analyzed the phenomena and causes of the take off in China s
economy through four aspects.
The first part is the beginning of China s economic reform from rural areas, the initial
conditions of China s rural areas are more likely to produce both private
entrepreneurship and market economy than the urban industrialization. Rural reforms
also concerned about macroeconomic reform, especially for the public confidence in
the credibility and stability of the government. This reform is a reform and even a
revolution, not what they characterized as modest by some scholars. (Huang)
The second part is to clarify the definition of township and village enterprises, which
include the enterprises sponsored by
37. Essay about Chaucer s Wife of Bath
Chaucer s Wife of Bath
Before beginning any discussion on Chaucer s Wife of Bath, one must first
recognize that, as critic Elaine Treharne writes, Critical response to the Wife of
Bath has been as diverse as it has been emotive (2). Some critics love the Wife of
Bath and her controversial prologue, proclaiming that she is a woman of strength and
powerful words; others hate her and cover the eyes of younger girls, determined
that Wife of Bath is instead a role model of what women should not be; and the rest
remain a bit confused, simply excusing themselves and the Wife herself. The
question of whether or not the Wife of Bath ought to be admired or scorned
continues to provoke a number of hands to raise in the air, ready to present ... Show

The Wife audaciously steps onto stage and belts to her audience, What rekketh me
though folk saye vilainye, and follows up with another loud lyric, In wifhood wol I
use myn instrument / As freely as my Makere hath it sent (Chaucer l. 59, 155 56).
Here, the Wife of Bath disregards public opinion and then frankly asserts that she a
woman in a society where male dominance even flows into the bedroom will have
sex freely. Thus, while the society and its female typecasts shush her and plead
with her to passively sit in silence, the Wife of Bath boldly stands and sings loudly.
If mothers want to cover their children s eyes, they better cover their ears as well
with audacious women like Madonna and the Wife of Bath around.
Covering eyes and ears may be the very advice of James Cook, another literary
critic of the Wife of Bath. Cook raises his hand and has a far different answer then
Hansen to the question of the Wife s respectability. First of all, Cook reveals his
disgust at the Wife of Bath s treatment of marriage: In none of her marriages has
Alice made a full commitment of her will to the sacrament, and from that reservation
follow most unhappy religious consequences sin, gracelessness, and loss of charity
(4). Cook grumbles about the Wife s lighthearted attitude toward the sacred bond of
marriage and the sin resulting from her

The morning of May 3, before Madeleine disappeared, Kate McCann recalls a
question that her daughter asked her over breakfast. Madeleine asked her mother,
Mummy, why didn t you come when we were crying last night? (Tresniowski 1). This
question prompted Madeleine s parents to watch their children more carefully at
night. Throughout the family s stay in Portugal they had been going out to eat every
night with their friends, leaving their three children alone in their rented vacation
apartment. They claim to have been checking on the kids intermittently, as they were
dining at a tapas restaurant a hundred yards away. That night Madeleine disappeared
and it is speculated that someone may have broken in the previous night to examine
the layout of the room before returning for Madeleine.

39. Imagery in Night Essay
Imagery can be defined as the ability to form mental images of things or events. The
Holocaust was the careless and brutal massacre of six million Jews by the Nazis,
who were under the rule of Adolf Hitler, during World War II. In the book Night Elie
Wiesel describes his harsh, devastating journey throughout the Holocaustby using
imagery. During the novel Night , Elie vividly describes his experiences
throughout the holocaust when they first arrive at Auschwitz and saw the fire,
when Elie and his convoy arrive at Buna, and during the alert when a man tries to
get an extra ration of soup. First off, a passage that really catches the reader s eye

The reader can sense the strong odor of corpses and burning flesh. The reader can
also see flames slowly arising in the distance along with skeleton like figures
approaching the cattle cars in prison like uniforms. Imagery is very evident in that
passage. Now comes the time when Elie and his convoy arrive at Buna. Another
passage in which Elie uses imagery to make the novel come to life is when Elie
and his convoy arrive at Buna, another camp. Elie and his convoy were being sent
to Buna from Auschwitz. When they arrived at the camp the reader and Elie can
see an almost deserted camp, except for a few wandering prisoners. Elie and the
others were sent immediately to the showers where the head of the camp meet up
with them. He [is] a stocky man with big shoulders, the neck of a bull, thick lips,
and curly hair. He [is] [giving] an impression of kindness (47), Elie said. The reader
can see a big stocky man with curly hair approaching all of the Jews. He has a slight
smile on his face as he approaches the Jews who are all waiting by the showers.
Imagery is very strong in that passage. Next comes the time during the alert when a
man tries to get a extra ration of soup. Finally, one passage in which the reader can
feel like they are at the camp because of imagery is when during the alert, a man is
brave enough to try and get an extra ration of soup. Everyone in the camp was
ordered to go to their barracks and stay
40. The Failure of Xerxes’ Invasion of Greece Essay
Xerxes was a man of power. The Great King of Persia, his empire encompassed the
majority of the known world. On his invasion of Greece in the spring of 480BCE,
he reportedly commanded a horde of over two million men. Even the Greek oracle
at Delphi encouraged prudence in face of such an overwhelming force (7.140).
Thus the question arises of why such an army failed to compel Greece into
submission. I will explore this with focus on the key battles and the important
factors, most notably the timing of the attack, the quality of his expeditionary force
and Xerxes personal faults. Overall, Xerxes initial strategy was sound. Before he
had even bridged and crossed the Hellespont , Xerxes had established a very good
relationship with the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His force further had innumerable archers. It was with this in mind that the
Athenians made the fateful decision to train 40,000 men for 200 ships in 481BCE.
This force was relatively inexperienced compared to the Persian contingent, which
included skilled Phoenician sailors (D.S 11.18.1). The Persians had light, fast
boarding ships compared to the Greeks who had stout, strongly built ramming
ships (8.10,60). This would prove critical later at the crowded straits of Salamis in
480BCE. If it were not for this fleet, the Persian conquest of Greece would have
been assured. (7.139). If Persia had control of the sea, defeat by land would
quickly have followed due to the inability of the city states to hold a united front.
The halt in city state squabbles and the creation of the Hellenic League was no
small achievement and was to the great disadvantage of Xerxes. This clearly was a
factor in the overall demise of the campaign. The construction of the Athenian fleet,
advocated by Themistocles, was a precursor to this. While the battle at Artemisium
is considered indecisive (8.18), and the corresponding battle at Thermopylae a
Pyrrhic victory for Xerxes, it was a huge victory of propaganda for the Greek side. A
small force held off the best of the Persians for many days showcasing the superiority
of the Greek hoplite in close

42. Human Rights Watch Describes Housing Policies
Introduction Upon release from prison, approximately 600,000 of ex offenders are
being released back into the community annually and will confront legal obstacles in
their journey to reenter society. Many prisoners ex offenders return to prison because
they are unable to make the transition back into society. One factor that influences
recidivism is lack of access to housing.
In a study of 404,638 exoffenders in 30 states in 2005. 67.8 percent of released
prisoners were rearrested within three years. Within 5 years 76.6 percent of them
were rearrested (Durose, Cooper, Snyder, 2014). Based only on the fact of prior
criminal convictions, newly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Literature Review Key Findings
A major problem prisoners reentering society face is finding housing. One good
choice is going to a halfway house. They provide a structured environment where
there are rules that must be adhered to and onsite criminal justice staff providing
constant oversight. The halfway house provides onsite access to support and
guidance, and acts as a step between immediate return to the community and prison.
A halfway house helps offenders transition from an environment where there is much
sensory deprivation into the community where there is sensory overload. Ex
Offenders can slowly return to society in a controlled environment instead of being
overwhelmed and without help when they return into a normal community (Plante,
J. 2015). Ex offenders have been severely limited to their most basic opportunities
for employment, education and housing. These penalties are also known as
collateral consequences for ex offenders, which systematically deprive them of their
individual rights and privileges. Professor Gabriel jack chin has classified this
socioeconomic phenomenon as the New Civil Death (Silva, R. L. 2015). Housing
exclusion is based on federal policy. Restrictive Federal Housing Policies
Current federal public housing policy is heavily influenced by different pieces of
43. Steven Spielberg And Schindler s List Comparison
Can t I Be Both?
The career of Steven Spielberg has been vast. Spanning five decades, he has
crossed genres with more success than most of his contemporaries. In the grand
scheme of cinema I believe that those who are drawn to his masterful work can be
categorized into two groups. This partition between the two revolves around his
seminal classic Schindler s List and separates his career into two parts. While his
films, early and recent alike, follow common themes; there is also a subtle divide.
These themes ranging from the lost boy to obsessions to family issues have been
orchestrated throughout the majority of his films. For the purpose of this essay let s
call them Pre 93 and Post 93: the former being prior to 1993 and Schindler s List, the
latter being everything 1993 and on. The aforementioned themes, along with
significant moments within the director s personal life, paint a picture of a man
evolving within his work.
Obsession is defined as an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on
a person s mind. Spielberg was not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

45. Questions On Common Types Of Contracts
Contract Types There are multiple factors that influence the type(s) of contract(s)
utilized/selected within a project. Some of these factors include: the level of
uncertainty related to the scope of work, the amount of project risk willing to be
assumed, importance of meeting schedule milestone dates, and the need for projected
costs, among others (Darnall Preston, 2013). Whatever the driving factors are in the
selection process, once established, the typeof contract selected can have a significant
influence on the decision making process related to the trade off of the triple
constraints of cost, time, and performance (Kerzner, 2013). This paper will briefly
explain five common types of contracts focusing primarily on how each type can
affect project constraint trade off.
Common Types of Contracts There are two general types of contracts: fixed price
and cost reimbursable, with each main type having several variations (Darnall
Preston, 2013). The two most common variations of fixed price contracts are, firm
fixed price and fixed price incentive fee (Kerzner, 2103). For cost reimbursable
contracts, the three most common variations are, the cost plus incentive fee, the cost
plus award fee, and the cost plus fixed fee (Kerzner, 2013). Each type and variation
influences project trade off decisions relative to the triple constraints of cost, time,
and performance differently (Kerzner, 2013).
Firm Fixed Price (FFP) In a FFP contract, all costs are incorporated

47. The Maltese Falcon Analysis
Major Works
The following list is a great start for those who want to read the classic hard boiled
stories that have defined what is meant by a hard boiled fiction. The Maltese
Falcon by Dashiell Hammett. The Postman Always Rings Twice by James M
Cain. It caused a scandal with its explosive mix of violence and sex. The torrid
story of Frank Chambers, the amoral drifter, Cora, the sullen and brooding wife,
and Nick Papadakis, the amiable but inconvenient husband, has become a classic of
its kind, and established Cain as a major novelist with a spare and vital prose style
and a bleak vision of America. Cain s another work Double Identity. Here, Walter
Huff is an insurance investigator like any other until the day he meets the beautiful
and dangerous Phyllis Nirdlinger and falls under her spell. Together they plot to kill
her husband and split the insurance.
Another writer Raymond Chandler s work The Long Goodbye deals about a down
and out drunk Terry Lennox dying millionaire, Philip Marlowe to handle the
blackmailer of one of his two troublesome daughters, Marlowe finds himself involved
with more than extortion. Kidnapping, pornography, seduction, and murder are just a
few of the complications he gets caught up in.
Hammett s innovations were incorporated in the hard boiled melodramas of James
M. Cain (1892 1977), particularly in such early works as The Postman Always Rings
Twice (1934) and Double Indemnity (1936). Another successor was Raymond
Chandler (1888 1959), whose
48. Trifles By Susan Glaspell Essay
The relation of the title of the play Trifles to the play is subtle but present.
According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, the word trifle means something of
little value, substance, or importance . Near the beginning of the play, Hale says
Well, women are used to worrying over trifles. (Glaspell 258). This is the only time
trifles is used in the play. However, the way the characters act and speak amongst
each other reveals the true meaning of the title. The men disrespect the women
multiple times in the story. The sheriff and court attorney make comments that are
obviously meant to be sexist toward the women such as Well, you can beat the
women! Held for murder and still worryin about her preserves and Ah, loyal to your
sex, I see. (Glaspell 258). The men treat the women as trifles and disregard them for a
majority of the play. After making all those comments about women, they chose to
investigate upstairs rather than the kitchen. That s where the... Show more content on

They are blinded by their sexism which prevents them from looking in the one
place where they could ve found a sufficient amount of evidence against Mrs.
Wright. As the women look around downstairs, they realize more and more things
about Mrs. Wright and begin to feel kind of bad for her. Mrs. Peters shows this by
saying Somehow we just don t see how it is with other folks until something comes
up. (Glaspell 263). What she means by this is that one never knows what s truly
happening in someone s life until that person needs to know or is allowed to know.
The women in the play end up finding a dead canary and hiding it from the men to
protect Mrs. Wright. They notice that the canary was killed by breaking its neck,
similar to the way Mr. Wright was killed. This presumably shows the main motive
behind Mr. Wright s death. He killed the one thing that made Mrs. Wright feel like
she had someone even when she was all alone. That is was leads them to hide
49. George Kimball Mental Illness
The movie Send Me No Flowers is centered around George Kimball, a man that
constantly thinks he is becoming ill and ignores any person that tells him different.
When at the doctor s office because of a worrisome chest pain, George overheard the
doctor speak on the phone about a patient that was dying. Due to a misinterpretation,
George automatically assumed that he was the patient being discussed. When
reviewing his behavior, it is evident that George has the somatoform disorder,
hypochondriasis. Symptoms of this disorder are interpreting normal sensations
(headaches, chest pain, stomach aches, etc.,) as symptoms of a deadly disease and
ignoring physician reassurances that they do not reflect a serious illness. Since
hypochondriacs doubt... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This concern later ripples into a series of important events that allow the plot to
develop, such as picking his wife s second husband for when he dies and buying
cemetery plots for the three of them. George does all of this without notifying his
wife of what he believes to be his imminent death. When he eventually does tell his
wife that he thinks he is dying, she takes care of him and he progressively seems to
get worse with each passing day. It is clear that the sympathy he received
encouraged his complaints and led to the self induced illusion that his body was
slowly dying. In the end, they both find out in different ways that George s chest pain
had been due to indigestion and the confusion is cleared up. The entire situation
showed George that he was overreacting. The audience can tell that he has overcome
his hypochondria because the movie finalizes with a picture of his entire medicine
cabinet being empty. In reality, hypochondria is an illness that persists for several
years but can normally be cured with persistent therapy. George receives no remedial
treatment in the movie but an effective form of therapy, based on research, would be
cognitive behavioral
50. Why I Want For My Future Career Choices
How much consideration have you put into considering the type of degree you
plan to pursue? For example, I took the time by considering my future career
choices, the type of campus I needed, and the best colleges for the degree I needed.
To ensure that you chose the correct degree, you should take a step back and
contemplate what you want to do career wise, and the degree needed for it.
Initially, I originally yearned to pursue pre vet studies, so I could go on to vet
school and be a veterinarian. I assumed that my love and knowledge of animals
would have been enough to keep me interested in this degree path. I had also
assumed that, since I had this natural need to aid injured or sick animals it would
have been the right degree choice. I was wrong about all of that. It takes much than a
love and need to aid animals to be a vet. You need to be extremely decent at
chemistry, which I remain not, so I would seriously struggle throughout those
courses. Not to mention the cost of pursuing your Doctoratein the studies. At that time,
I decided on Vet Tech. They can either have an Associates or Bachelors degree, the
schooling is significantly cheaper, and they do not euthanize the animals as a
veterinarian would. However, they do not generate enough money to support my
needs in life. They also do the veterinarians dirty work. For instance, cleaning anal
glands, nail trimming, teeth cleaning, giving shots, and examining fecal tests or
taking them. They don t get to treat the
51. Evolution Of Whales Essay
Evolution of Whales
Biodiversity
Biodiversity is the extensive existence of the number, variety and genetic variation of
different organisms that are found in their natural environments. Diversity in species
is highly significant as it guarantees natural sustainability for all living networks and
systems by providing vital services that our lives are dependent on such as food and
clean water. The different ecosystems and organisms boost ecosystem productivity
and contribute to climate stability.
Taxonomy
To classify and identify certain organisms a system was formed called Taxonomy.
Taxonomy is a form of classification that all known organisms presently on earth are
organised into, an organism is classified based on characteristics the organism has
inherited. The characteristics typically file the specie under each of the eight titles,

Baleen whales have a sieve like structure made of keratin in the upper jaw that is
used for filtering food from the water. Toothed whales differ from the baleen whale
as they have teeth rather than a baleen place that are used to hint prey. Toothed
whales have lost their sense of smell as well as saliva glands and are generally
smaller than baleen whales.
Whales are then classified further into family, genus and species dependent on the
species of whale.
Evolution of whales
Results extracted from studying whales and ancestors of suspected fossils, it is
evident that whales have evolved from four legged animals that are said to physically
resemble now day hyenas. The transition from a completely land animal to a
completely marine animal involved but are not exclusive to the spine changing, limbs

52. The Film Analysis Of The Movie Mementos
Mementos the backwards version of a masterpiece In the movie mementos It
illustrates an investigator for an insurance agency who lost his memory and in an
interesting yet confusing and frustrating way shows him solving his wife s murder. It
takes an interesting approach to storytelling by putting the viewer in as much of a
confused state as much as the main characterhimself. Which leads to the viewer of
the movie to become somewhat lost in the vagueness of it all.mementos is a movie
that has succumb to failure due the fact that the story was too confusing, Needless
information and this style of storytellingsimply does not function . To begin the story
it started off with the death of who would later become a main character when it
shows him in a scene later on it sends the viewer into confusion most would probably
assume their version of the movie is messed up. This initial confusion with nothing to
address it but a black and white short already causes disinterest in the movie.then as
you begin to understand things the movie makes you feel as though you are watching

53. Newtown Creek Environmental Analysis
Newtown creek is a 3.8 mile waterway located on the border of Brooklyn and
Queens in New York City and was once a busy center for industrial activity. More
than 50 factories were located along its banks, including oil refineries,
petrochemical plants, sawmills, and lumber and coal yards. The Creek was also the
site of one of the largest oil spill in the U.S. (EPA, 2007). As a consequence, the soil
surrounding the area became polluted with toxic heavy metals and polycyclic
aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and was declared a Superfund site. The Superfund
Program requires responsible parties to perform cleanups or reimburse the
government for cleanups led by EPA. Superfund sites are hazardous to human health

Bioremediators need to be able to grow in order to remediate the soil of pollutants.
The purpose of this research is to determine whether the presence of Stropharia rugoso
annulata in the soil will support and accelerate the growth of ryegrass in a mutualistic
symbiotic relationship. If the growth of the ryegrass is accelerated and supported, the
combination of the two bioremediators could potentially accelerate the degradation of
PAHs in the soil. Techniques such as soil washing, soil flushing, vitrification, etc.,
exist to remediate contaminated soil. Although, these techniques are effective, they
also disturb the natural environment to some degree. Bioremediation is often
accomplished in situ resulting in minimal environmental disturbance. This study is
being performed because healthy soil is a limited resource that needs to be preserved
and replenished. The state of soil can impact the health of humans, animals, and
ecosystems, therefore, it s important to be able to monitor and control the pollutants in
54. The Spiritual Awakening
The idea of salvation or having an awakening moment of one s spirit is something
that is different for every individual. Flannery O Connor s Good Country People
and A Good Man is Hard to Find demonstrates how a person can be brought to their
redemption by unlikely characters. Hulga, from Good Country People, goes from
being a woman who states to believe in nothing, to a woman who loses everything
and is left at a place of confusion. The grandmother from A Good Man is Hard to Find
is similar to Hulga in that she also loses everything in order to find her faith.
Although both Hulga and the grandmother seem to have their own strong belief
systems, they each go through different experiences and eventually find their
salvation in the characters they were least expecting. Hulga, the protagonist of
Good Country People, is presented as an intelligent woman with a troubled, weak
heart, who is also facing many personal challenges. When Hulga was a young girl,
her leg was shot off in a hunting accident, resulting in Hulga being very attached to
her artificial, wooden leg. Hulga, formerly named Joy, changed her name to what
her mother considered to be the ugliest name in any language ( Good Country
440). However, by doing so, Hulga removed any hope of her finding her own sense
of joy or happiness. Hulga went to college and received a Ph. D. in Philosophy
which has lead her into her nihilistic beliefs and the false concept that she knows
everything. She has a very
