The Faculty Jazz Ensemble was on Monday, November 9 in the Westbrook Music Hall. The
Performers included Peter Bouffard on guitar, Paul Haar on saxophone, Dave Hall on drums,
Tom Larson on piano, Hans Sturm on bass, and Darryl White on trumpet. The first piece was A
Cord of Three Strands composed by Darryl White. It was in a minor mode and was in triple meter.
The piece started off with a calm piano dynamic and homophonic texture with the trumpet playing
the melody over the drums, bass, and piano playing a countermelody underneath. The trumpet soon
fades out with a cadence and the saxophone comes in with a deeper more calming sound than the
trumpet, again with a homophonic texture. The piece reminds me of a calm pouring rain. When
the saxophone and trumpet are included, the rain picks up and when it is just the drums, bass, and
piano it is like a slight drizzle of rain. The piece fizzles out in the end with a clam cadence.... Show
The piece starts of with a light sound and homophonic texture. The bass, piano, saxophone, and
trumpet are on the melody with the drums countering underneath. Soon, the saxophone comes in
with a solo over the rest of the instruments. This solo is flowy and lingering. The melody seems to
be conjunct. I envisioned a person ice skating, gliding around on the ice without tripping or
stumbling. As the saxophone settles out, there is a decrescendo. There is a combination between a
homophonic texture of saxophone and trumpet over bass, drums, and piano and polyphonic
textures of the bass, piano, and drums playing various different melodies. This created a great deal
of tension with made for a not so tonal rhythm. In this part, the ice skater is doing a lot of starting

My Youngest Daughter s Wedding Reception
My youngest daughter s wedding reception was on Sunday. I had to pick up the cake at 10:30

on women stood at 28% in 2007. 20% of males indicated having physically hurt their partners and
only 12% of females indicated having done it. In the same year, the study showed that 47% of
women had experienced domestic violence, 11% experienced violence during pregnancy, 30% of
married women experienced sexual violence and 47% experienced spousal violence. Political
positions like that of the deputy minister recorded a decrease from 2006 at 18.2% to 17.2%, in
addition, in 2006, there was no female representation in the position of a deputy permanent
secretary which indicates a drop from the 6.7 female representation

In Flowers for Algernon there are many great acts of courage, from a multitude of characters.
Charlie is the main character and shows the most acts of courage because it is his story that the
book follows. Although Charlie is not aware of his actions and the results of them, he shows
courage through his connection to his familyand how he would do anything for his loved ones. In
the beginning of Flowers for Algernon, the reader sees Charlie in a laboratory, making reports on
his progress for an experiment that has only been tested on a mouse. At the start of the book, we
do not know who he is, but through his progress reports, we see him develop, and we learn more
about his life as a child.
Importance means a connection between different people. People connect on the bases of talking,
interacting and eye contact. Charlie is a very challenged young man with a difficulty doing what

The Last Phase Of Our Project
The last phase of our project was at the end of each week did we reach our goal of 25 people
visiting our booth and having our overall goal of 100 people visiting our booths over the past
four week; which was met by having a total of 109 people visit our booths. The way we were
able to keep track of the number of people who came by our booths were the individual ribbons we
handed out; we would count how many we started out with before setting up the booths, then we
would count how many were left when we shut down the booths.
Throughout the month of April every Wednesday in the University Center starting 11:00am until
12:30pm we held a booth that was filled with information on the history of abuse and neglect and
what abuse and neglect are and what you can do to prevent it from happening. Each person was
responsible for gathering information on the topic and sending the information to Dawn so that she
can put it on the pamphlets that we gave out at every booth, we had a separate packet that gave the
definition of mandated reporting and who they are; what steps to take when placing a hotline call
including the national number, Missouri, and Illinois. We had another packet that listed facts and
statistics about the different types of abuse. We gave out individual ribbons and asked them to sign

Cultural Hegemony In The American Dream
Peter Carey has applied the motif of the American Dream to illustrate the issue of cultural
hegemony, and the potential consequences of it in terms of a specific nation s cultural identity. The
outcomes of cultural hegemony may appear if a society is heavily affected by another one and
endeavours to adopt its culture in the pursuit of a better life. In American dreams, Carey depicts
idealized utopian scenario and corresponding loss of townspeople s cultural identity this fantasy of
the American dreamemerges like one of the story s main motifs. Parallel to their mystification of the
American wayof life, the people of a place called Bacchus Marshdevelop a negative attitude towards
their own town, being dull and insignificant, as depicted in the words of the narrator s father:

Exhibit 2 contains both fixed and variable costs within the report. Other costs we must look at is
the opportunity of the purchased computer equipment, which has a value of roughly $25,500.
The leased computer equipment cannot be cancelled, thus we consider it a sunk cost and do not
take it into consideration. Next, we look at the purpose of creating PDS. The purpose was to
