The Republic Of Ireland And The United Kingdom
The Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom
An Analysis of Governments, Politics, and Society in the Region
Conall P. MacKenzie
FP230 Short Paper
LCDR Rachael Gosnell
24SEP2015
Western Europe has grown exponentially since the colonial period, and the emergence of the Republic
of Ireland and a unified United Kingdom has clearly shown that Europe s boarders are constantly
changing. Each nation has evolved in its own ways over the course of its existence, but both show
many similarities that are highly visible in governing styles, political parties, and the societies
themselves. These differences are what separate the two states from one another. Since Ireland
received independence from Great Britain in 1922, its governmental processes and political parties
have changed entirely from what they were before, thus causing a massive shift of the public view of
Ireland, and the United Kingdom from the early 20th century to present day. Now, it is readily
apparent that even though they are incredibly different countries both are successful and in no worry
of becoming a failed state. However, there are dissimilarities between the governing styles as well as
the types of party platforms in each region that have aided their successes. Ireland was not always its
own country. For a long period, it fell under the jurisdiction of Great Britain. Throughout the early
20th century, Ireland looked to secede from Great Britain, leading to its eventual success in the act by

Buddhism In The Tang Dynasty
Buddhism is originated from India, however it seems that China has become the center of Buddhism
with the rise of Tang, and the Chinese Buddhism have a profound influence on the development of
Buddhism in East Asia. Although Buddhism was introduced to the Chinese people early in the Han
Dynasty in the first century B.C., a couple of historical events in Tang Dynasty truly mark the
prosperousness of Buddhism in China. During the early Tang dynasty, along with many other
pilgrims, the monk Xuanzang traveled to India and returned to Chang an (Place 1) with a large
collection of Buddhist texts, relics, and statues. With the support of Emperor Taizong of Tang,
Xuanzang set up a large translation bureau in Chang an, attracting students from

Though the agreement and acknowledgement from both sides...
Though the agreement and acknowledgement from both sides was a great accomplishment, the fault in
the Oslo Accords was lack of action and enforcement, leading way into accusations from both sides.
While it is important for both sides to be careful, a peace talk strong enough to mend the schism
between Israel and Palestine should be clear in its wording, and the agreements should be enforced.
Both sides unresolved conflicts over land, refugees, education, and terrorism prevent any progress
from being made. An attempt to establish peace without resolution of these problems will result in
failure, proven in past negotiation efforts. The core sources of the Israeli Palestinian conflict should be
the focus of the peace talks. It is integral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Palestinians, in peace talks, have proposed balanced land swaps as well ( Middle East peace ). If
both sides negotiate with open minds, compromise can be made. Because of lack of enforcement,
peace agreements that should have worked have failed. Both sides still struggle over matters that,
according to negotiations of the past, should not exist.
However, this is not the end to the struggle between the two states. Though some controversies, such
as land, are fairly straightforward, others are not. Apprehensions about security and refugees are main
concerns of Israel. Allowing refugees could result in a possible change of demographic to a
Palestinian majority. As a people that have been persecuted throughout history, the Jewish have an
extremely legitimate reason to have safety and security a top priority. They desire a homeland free of
jeopardy. Palestinian organizations in the past (and present, involving rejectionist groups such as the
Hamas) have wanted the destruction of Israel as a state ( Negotiations). Israel accuses Palestine of not
taking action against these terrorist groups, and fears that in the future, a Palestinian state could be
overtaken by one. Palestine believes that a two state solution is actually necessary for security. Though
both sides have many concerns, to make decisions and statements based on general, wide assumptions
is also incredibly dangerous for both sides, and prevents progress. All

Assess Functionalsu and New Right View of the Family
Assess functionalist and the New Right views on the family
Functionalists believe that the family have specific or traditional functions within the family. One
function of the family would be reproduction or having children as this is imperative for the world as
they will be the future workforce. For example family businesses will need to pass down the
factories/shops to the next generation in the family for the continuing of the ancestors business. Other
functions include economic maintenance this is where the family provides necessities for all the
family members for example shelter, food and clothing. Another is that the family helps teach children
how to socialise with others and also educate them with the correct norms. An ... Show more content

Halsey and Dennis who agrees with what Murray argues saying that single parenthood and absent
fathers is one of the key issues with the decrease in nuclear family lives. Due to the lack of jobs and
rise in unemployment men are starting to struggle to maintain their title of bread winners and the
industries are changing from heavy workloads so women are more likely to find a job in modern
times. As a result men may be reject by the women as they can t financially depend on them so would
rather be given benefits than struggle to keep a roof over them and their children s heads. Halsey
debates that being in a one parent family with the factors of unemployment and poverty being high
could inevitably lead to crime and vandalism by the younger members of the family. Against a nuclear
family with a stable income and stable household would again lead to any crimes and vandalism by
the offspring in the family.
Abbott and Wallace s critically judge the new right about how women are being exploited in the
families and how a lot of frustration and unhappiness is able to be experienced by living in this
environment. The new right also disagrees to acknowledge the violence that can be cause in a nuclear
family life and the abuse a family can actually suffer from being forced to stay and live with them as it
isn t socially acceptable to be a one parent family. Some of the ideas that Abbott and Wallace criticised
are that the new right are opposed to

Tenochtitlan Myth
The Legend of the Foundation of Tenochtitlan is a legend that originates from mexico and is based on
the aztecs. The aztecs had to abandon where they were living at by orders of their god, Huitzilopochtli,
who was the sun and war god. Huitzilopochtli briefly described that the aztecs were to go on an
expedition to find a place where an eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, devouring a snake would
be. He told the aztecs that once they had found the eagle, it would signify the location the where they
would build the most powerful empire in mesoamerica. After learning about their new mission, the

The Contribution Of The Treaty Of Versailles
On January 10, 1920, a peace document known as The Treaty of Versailles, signed by Germany and
the Allied Nations on June 28, 1919, took force. This agreement was the most powerful of the peace
treaties, bringing an end to World War I. Despite the peace it brought to the Allied Nations, it brought
nothing but devastations to all aspects of Germany. Due to its harsh and humiliating terms, twenty
years after its authentication, the treaty would trigger a second world war. Created as a document of
peace, The Treaty of Versailles would antithetically prompt WWII by promoting the infamous dictator
Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party to power.
Under the Treaty of Versailles, all German overseas colonies became League of Nation Mandates.
Germany was also forced to accept complete responsibility for initiating World War I, making them
responsible for paying all war damage. In addition, the German army was limited to 100,000 men, the
air force was banned from having combat aircraft, the navy lost nearly all of its surface ships and
submarines, and tanks were forbidden. These barbarous terms were set with the goal of preventing
another war by crippling Germany, but Germans viewed this as unfair, bringing nothing other than
indignant reactions. The Treaty of Versailles played a major role in bringing a Great Depression upon
Germany. German capital that would have been used to advance industry would rather be drained by
payments to the Allied Nations. In order to pay off WWI debt as

Confidence Intervals
Confidence Intervals
Consider the following question: someone takes a sample from a population and finds both the sample
mean and the sample standard deviation. What can he learn from this sample mean about the
population mean?
This is an important problem and is addressed by the Central Limit Theorem. For now, let us not
bother about what this theorem states but we will look at how it could help us in answering our
question.
The Central Limit Theorem tells us that if we take very many samples the means of all these samples
will lie in an interval around the population mean. Some sample means will be larger than the
population mean, some will be smaller. The Central Limit Theorem goes on to state that 95% of the
sample means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A brief note: Statistical software often gives slightly different but more accurate values. Let us stick
with the consensus of the majority of people working with elementary statistics and use the critical
values given above. Summarized:
|Confidence Interval |Critical Value |
|90% | 1.65 |
|95% | 1.96 |
|99% | 2.58 |
Due to the perfect symmetry of the curve we will find the same but this time positive z values for the
right tail. [pic]
Now we can start calculating confidence intervals.
Sample Mean and Standard Deviation are known, in the case of Sample Size [pic]
The confidence interval for the population mean μ in this situation is given by [pic].
Example 1:
We are looking at a very large group of tests. Forty five tests were selected from this group. The mean
of the sampled tests is 58 and the standard deviation is 13. Find the 95% confidence interval for the
mean grade for the whole class.
Solution:
[pic]. This means that we are 95% confident that the population mean for all these tests is between
[pic] and [pic] or more simply said, between 54.2 and 61.8.

A Perfect Competitive Market Structure
In the economy, market structures are examined thoroughly. There are four basic kinds of market
structures in economics: perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly.
Perfect competition is the one that is being focused on predominantly. A perfectly competitive market
is a market in which all market participants are price takers (Krugman Wells 1). Price takers are
producers and consumers whose actions have no effect on the market price of the good (Krugman
Wells 1). A perfect competitive market structure consists of three aspects that will be discussed. When
perfect competition comes to mind, the Organic Food Market structure can be associated to it or the
perfectly competitive market industry. In the Organic market, all the farmers in the industry are each
producing the same product for the buyers and sellers. The consumption of the individual consumer or
the production of the individual producer will not affect the market price of the goods. In a perfectly
competitive market all participating producers and consumers are price takers (Krugman Wells 1). As
stated by Paul Krugman and Robin Wells, in a perfectly competitive market neither consumption
decisions by individual producers affect the market price of the good (Krugman Wells 1). There are
two necessary conditions for perfect competition, the first being that none of the producers have a
large market share, and the second being that the goods produced are being regarded as a

Video Game Sales Over The Past Years
With the success in our video game sales over the past couple of years, Ninesis Gaming Co. is going
to develop our own gaming console. We truly believe now would be the best time for us to begin
development on a new console that we and other game developing companies can create and design
games for.
Over the past year we have been in contact with game developers such as Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda, and
Rare; all of these developers had a common interest in developing games for a console that we at
Ninesis Gaming Company will develop and design. We are on the verge of creating a gaming console
to not only compete with the Wii U, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One, but to surpass them in every
marketable area. We have already constructed a prototype ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Abstract We at Ninesis game believe we are in a better time than ever to begin development on a
brand new gaming console that would compete with the Microsoft s Xbox One, Sony s PlayStation 4,
and Nintendo s Wii U. In this proposal I will go over everything from how we will develop the
Ninesis Gaming System and how much it would cost to produce enough of the consoles to be able to
send them out to testers. We believe this move in development would put the company into the AAA
gaming market. The technology that I will be explaining will show that this console can be used for
not only hardcore and casual gaming but, education, and training. We are requesting to be funded to
produce enough of these consoles so that we can get them out to testers to see how well they hold up
with today s gamers, educators, and work force. In order to develop the Ninesis Gaming System,
Ninesis games will require a large development loan.
Introduction This proposal will show all the aspects and innovations of the Ninesis Gaming

Essay The Art Cowboy
Booze, cigarettes, sex, beer, curses, affairs, abuse, paint: All of those are factors in Jackson Pollock s
life, however, one stands out above all as the most important one, paint. America s greatest painter,
born in Cody, Wyoming on January 28, 1912, had a deeper connection to this colorful, flowing liquid
than anyone else in history. Blood did not run through his veins, but oil and pigment, tar and sand did.
He became something else while he painted. He became his painting. No other painter in history had
been able to do what Jackson Pollock did. Jackson pushed past any boundaries in the world of art. He
created something new, and at the time no one had been able to do that. Jackson Pollock shocked the

It was after he moved to Long Island that he discovered what he was to be truly famous for, his drip
paintings. According to the Smithsonian Museum of Art, Pollock began working on the ground, on a
not stretched canvas, throwing and dripping raw materials such as sand, tar, and paint on the canvas
(2). This was of painting without subject matter is known as action painting (2). Indicated by one
source, he needed to view his painting from all angles and step around it (National Gallery of Art 2).
This is part of the technique and action painter uses to get into his or her painting. He had developed
the ability to become completely part of his painting (2). In the film Pollock, when Krasner discovers
Pollock s new way of painting she says, You ve done it Pollock. You ve cracked it open. This is
exactly what Jackson did, he cracked open the art world, exposing new skin and breaking all the
traditions. Rugoff indicates that Pollock, with strong influence, had changed painting from a
traditional compositional technique to something else, making his paintings look more as sculptures
(442). Along with the finished product, the method Pollock used to paint was out of the ordinary.
Pollock painted physically, in almost a performance art technique (National Gallery of Art 2). His
movements could not be repeated, however, the artwork always came out how the artist wanted it to

Monologue Of Cinderella Alternate Ending
One day, our new step sister, Cinderella, arrived. I was a little cautious and unsure of her at first. I let
her mind her own business, except occasionally, I did spy on her, just the see what she was up to. I
started taking a liking to her when I noticed how kind and gentle she was with the animals that always
hang around the kitchen because of the food. I couldn t believe she would be with nature rather than
playing on her phone. Then, I started thinking about Cinderella s life, and how much we actually have
in common; both of our fathers died, we both aren t very fond of our mother, and we feel like we don t

The Financial Crisis Of 2007-2008
An excess of regulation, rather than an insufficiency of it, was the principal cause of the recent credit
crunch. The financial crisis of 2007 2008, also known as the Global Financial Crisis and 2008
financial crisis, is considered by some economists such as Nouriel Roubini, professor of economics
and international business at New York University, Kenneth Rogoff, professor of economics and
public policy at Harvard University, and Nariman Behravesh, chief economist and executive vice
president for IHS Global Insight, to have been the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of
the 1930s. All of them agreed that this is a one in fifty years event , however the latest Great
Recession is not a typical cyclical recession of the World Economy and no doubt will last for more
that usual two years (Business Wire, Reuters). The crisis played a significant role in the failure of key
businesses, declines in consumer wealth estimated in trillions of U.S. dollars, and a downturn in
economic activity leading to the 2008 2012 global recession and contributing to the European
sovereign debt crisis. (M. N. Baily, D. J. Elliott, 2009). So what are the cаuses of this crisis? Mаny
factors dirеctly and indirectly caused the Great Recession, with expеrts plаcing different weights upon
pаrticular causes. Major cаuses of the initial sub prime mortgage crisis and following recession

The Kojiki Myths
The Kojiki myths serve to legitimize the Yamato rulers by articulating the family relationship between
the Yamato rulers and ancient deities and the creation of the primitive Japanese Island. Illustrated in
the myth, Japanese imperial family is actually the descendant of gods, Izanami and Izanagi, who
create the islands of Japan. Since deities use supernatural power to bring Japanese islands into
existence and gods have reigned the area for such a long time, it is natural for Japanese to accept that
the Yamato rulers, the offsprings of gods with magical power, have undeniable reasons to reign over
Japan. The Man yoshu poems, on the other hand, are written to praise the supernatural power of

The Corrupt Of Prohibition In The 1920 s
On January 16 of 1920, The 18th amendment went into effect. The 18th amendment restricted the
manufacture, transportation, import, export, and sale of alcoholic beverages. Prohibition, as this time
came to be known, did not end until December 5, 1933, when the 21st amendment was passed and
ratified, ending National Prohibition. Supporters of Prohibition believed that it would help control
social problems and economic problems as well. What Prohibition did was the totally opposite,
Prohibition became a failure. Prohibition led to an increase in organize crime because violent
criminals rose to powers, alcoholic related crimes increased, and more politicians and police officials

Narcos tells the true life story of the growth and spread of cocaine drug cartels across the globe and
attendant efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It centers around
the notorious Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar. Pablo shows an interesting character
throughout the episodes through various ways of showing people who he wants to be viewed as. He
never wanted to be viewed as just another drug trafficker, but he wanted to be the best of all time. His
goal was to leave an impression for the people of Columbia so that if he did die, his name would be

Through the actions, Pablo portrays during episodes proves that identity and the way we manage
ourselves under certain circumstances has great influence in the way we present ourselves to the
individuals we encounter in our daily lives.
Throughout the episode, Pablo has shown to be very loyal, protective and generous to his immediate
family. On the other hand, the behavior with strangers is the complete opposite as he acquires the
position of authority. The family is defined as a group of people who genuinely love, care, and look
out for each other. It is said to be a bondage that cannot be broken by any means. Families have
individual beliefs and values in which they carry throughout their life. As per the research I have
obtained, I can summarize that values are concepts of what s good or bad, whereas beliefs are things
you believe to be true or false in life. Although in the show Narcos, Pablo may have his criminal
thoughts targeted towards strangers, the family is a different story. Things such as his beliefs and
values regarding family, keep him from acting as a criminal when near them. Based on research, it
was noted that the family is the most important social unit in Columbia. Even if the main breadwinner
lives and works far from home, the family takes priority . Based off this, its shown that Pablo abuses

The Sunning God

school that morning. We don t go to a normal school due to the war. We went to a knight school where
they taught us how to use weapons. But what we didn t know is that day would be the worst day of our
lives. While we were gone our mother had been cleaning up the house, the house was hollow wood
with no door and one window. It smelled like a farm and looked like a barn.

I got up really fast to find the village under attack. The war was moving fast and we have to move

The Death Of Macbeth By William Shakespeare
After the crowing of the new king, sickness begins to infiltrate throughout the land. What was once a
healthy and strong nation suddenly becomes stricken with terror and misfortunes. Macbeth portrays
sickness throughout the play, infecting everyone who he comes in contact with. On the other hand
Edward, the king of England, preserves and strengthens those who come to seek asylum within his
kingdom. Shakespeare uses the imagery of sickness versus health to reveal the effects of evil through
Macbeth and the effects of health through Edward, in his tragic play, Macbeth. The country is slowing
increasing in sickness fueled by the actions of Macbeth. Those who are still in the land describe it as,
...free from our feasts and banquets bloody knives, do faithful homage and relieve free honors all
which we pine for now... (3.6.35 37). Lady Macduff knows of all this but continues to reside in the
sickened land saying, To leave his wife, to leave his babes, his mansion, and his titles in a place, from
whence himself does fly?...So runs against all reason (4.2.6 8,13).She became a part of this saddened
land and holds her possessions as more important than her own life and the lives of her children.
Considering the sickness that surrounds her, she ends up defenseless when murders come to kill her.
All she reverberates is, I have done no harm...accounted dangerous folly. Why then alas do I put up
that womanly defense... (4.2.72,74 75). Since she has no knowledge of what to do she dies.

Patient Observation
During my ICE rotation at Clements University Hospital, I saw a variety of patients. The first patient I
worked with was a 68 year old male diagnosed with diverticulitis. The patient had surgery to reduce
the inflammation and pouches formed, but the problem persisted. The patient received two more
abdominal surgeries following the first one, which helped significantly. Although the physical
therapist did not mention any precautions, the patient was very slow to sit up and move. The patient
had a hard time speaking, but understood the physical therapist when he spoke to him. The patient was
very slow with his movements and required maximum assistance. The patient was in the intensive

Profits are the ultimate result for any business that is in search of remaining viable in a market. Ford

supposed to be launched at the cost of $12.5 million, at $11 based on the percentage car that will

Immigration, Deportation, And Family Separation By Vanessa...
Are human beings considered illegal? If so, what makes a person illegal? Is it because of their race,
gender, social status, sexual orientation, beliefs, etc. Or is it because they come to a place with hope of
a better future despite that they aren t allowed too. By this, I m talking about the issue of illegal
immigration. Illegal immigration is the problem concerning people who illegally immigrate into the
U.S. Specifically, people from areas like Central America, including Honduras, El Salvador, and
Guatemala. They usually leave behind their families in order to complete this journey and that can
have dire consequences. It is my strongest opinion that there needs to be more awareness raised on the
issue of separations occurring between families ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

dire consequences for those who have illegally immigrated and striking fear in others. I m proposing

conditions for those who live in countries like Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, etc. The book Enrique
s Journey, by Sonia Nazario, states that, In the United States, many immigration experts have
concluded that the only effective strategy for change is to improve the economies of immigrant
sending countries, so people will not want or need to leave. On pages 241 and

Fault Tolerance – Application Software Essay examples
Fault Tolerance – Application Software
Introduction
Today s business requirements drive the necessity for software applications that enable organizations
to maintain constant and continuous availability. We are living in a 24/7 world. Brick and mortar
businesses that only needed to worry about the security of their hard assets after closing for the day
now have websites allowing customers to shop online at their convenience. Simply establishing a web
presence is not enough to compete in the market. Business to business (B2B) and business to customer
(B2C) commerce requires a high availability strategy with planning and solutions for a fault tolerant

The business operation s systems performance can be severely impacted by software faults, so it is
essential to limit, control and contain the (possible) damage by faulty software.
For some applications, software fault tolerance is more of a safety issue than reliability. There can be
legal or regulatory requirements to fault tolerance. For many B2B and B2C transactions, fault
tolerance is a business decision. There are other organizations whose charter is driven by the
implementation of a fault tolerant system. For example, the aviation industry is required to meet strict
specifications for hardware and software. Airlines board over 500 million passengers per year. The
transportation of such large numbers of human life would demand fault tolerance environments of
robust safety and reliability. In the nuclear industry, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission
developed a tool to assess software reliability systems by modeling redundant systems with analysis of
failure data and calculations of availability. The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering
provides risk based guidance to encourage cost effective error detection and failure prevention.
Companies that strive to maintain accurate and comprehensive environmental data are regulated with

Analysis Of The Article How A Cockpit Remembers Its Speed
One day after reading Hutchins How a Cockpit Remembers its Speed, I was on an airplane flying to
Montreal for the weekend. I took special care to look for the raising and lowering of the slats and flaps
that Hutchins described in his article I m happy to say I was able to give a rudimentary description to
my girlfriend as to what was going on as we took off and landed! Hutchins argued that there are many
representations that are inside the cockpit system, yet outside the heads of the pilots (pp 267). This
first point I agree with; however, he goes on in the discussion to conclude that the cockpit systems
remembers its speeds (pp 286). While Hutchins and I agree that the pilots are the focal point of the
cockpit, I wouldn t go as far as to say that cockpit remembers its speed. The cockpit is certainly a
complex system, with many elements combining to create the phenomenon of an aircraft that can
control its speed and maneuver the skies, but without the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In one of my others courses, Cognition and Learning, we learned that students learn best when they
are able to ascribe meaning to a memory. Rather than simply walking around a museum reading
scholarly writings on the wall next to exhibits, the interactive tracing sounds like an ideal alternative.
The authors also predicted possible deleterious effects of visitors who produced misconceptions, but
argued that experts would counteract this effect by responding correctly. I think that the amount of
these deleterious effects would depend on the type of museum. While traces may work great at a high
brow museum such as The Louvre, it may not work as well where misconceptions can run rampant,

Analysis Of Xenon In Violation Of The Nuclear Agreement
Summary:
Tehran is comprised of a various number of research centers where they perform different experiments
using different natural radioisotopes. Based on the data found in the research the agency in charge of
nuclear energy use decided to check for themselves to see whether or not Tehran was in violation of
the Nuclear Agreement. To determine whether or not Tehran was in violation of the Nuclear
Agreement, investigators calculated the decay series of their allowable radioisotopes and the
radioisotopes in violations . Using the final products to compare to the isotopes found at the site. After
the decay series of Xenon 133 the isotope Cesium 133 is formed which was one of the isotopes found
at the site, because this was an allowable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
[7] In late 2003, the Agency took samples from both the solution containing the plutonium and the
shielded boxes used in the experiments. However, inconsistencies in the isotopic composition of the
samples brought up questions about the origin of the material.( Tehran Nuclear Research Center 2 )
The research center started conducting an experiment with their Tehran Water Reactor starting in
1968. They applied the elects of uranium and plutonium by manipulating the structure of the element.
First they decided to separate the plutonium from the UO2 and then they moved to convert and enrich
the uranium. Regardless, these experiments were allowed and approved because they were funded by
world superpowers(The US and Japan and China).
Findings:
According to the technical data information, the allowable radioisotopes in Tehran were Uranium 238
and Xenon 133. While the restricted radioisotopes that were in violation were Plutonium 239 and
Polonium 208. The two Isotopes discovered at the site were Lead 204 and Cesium 133. The first
allowable radioisotope, Uranium 238 has a half life of 4.5 billion years, decaying 14 times in order to
be in a more stable isotope Lead 206. The second acceptable radioisotope, Xenon 133 has a half life of
5.5 years, decaying once and releasing a gamma ray. After this decay series, Xenon 133 becomes a
more stable Cesium 133 which was one of the radioisotopes discovered at the site which means

Both Russia and China differ from the U.S. in their approaches to information security by holding the
mind and information systems to be essential components in their perception of information security.
This is key to understanding the fundamental differences of Russian and Chinese approaches to
information security as being distinct from cybersecurity while the U.S. view combines the two, not
considering the mind as directly part of the information space.
Cyberspace
In contrast to the ideas of information space, both Russian and Chinese references to cyberspace occur
primarily in translations of foreign text or in references to foreign strategic approaches. According to a
U.S. military definition, Cyberspace...is the Domain characterized by the use of electronics and the
electromagnetic spectrum to store, modify, and exchange data via networked systems and associated
physical infrastructures. Consequentially, Cyberspace Operations is the employment of cyber
capabilities where the primary purpose is to achieve objectives in or through cyberspace. Such
operations include computer network operations and activities to operate and defend the Global

Hugh Hefner s Playboy
Introduction
Playboy has been a very controversial magazine over the past 50 years but has somehow managed to
become an important brand along with the man who created it, Hugh Hefner. Both have come to
obtain amazing status worldwide and have become symbols or icons in the United States, Hef as a
sexual icon, a ladies man who built the magazine s enterprise on his own and the magazine has strived
and produced interesting, unique and controversial topics for men around the country. It s interesting
to see how today, when magazines have been on the losing end of news and entertainment it s still
striving and has become ever so important in the American life, no longer a simple magazine, playboy
has become something much more and for that reason I have decide to investigate how is it that a
magazine as controversial as Playboy has become a national icon in the US?
If one was to watch videos and read articles to understand Hugh Heffner s lifestyle, to see the story
behind his success and what lead to the creation of the magazine it would be easy to understand how it

A Sentimental Journey Through France And Italy
The prevailing cast of this period is not melancholy nor tragedy but farce . Discuss in relation to A
Sentimental Journey.
There exists the idea that the period occupied by sentiment was one of refined and intellectual
emotion. However, it seems that if this notion ever existed, it was quickly overcome with literature
occupying the theme of farce, either ironically or obliviously. A specific example we can point to to
clearly demonstrate this idea is A Sentimental Journey through France and Italy by Laurence Sterne.
While some contemporaries adored Sterne s work on a serious sentimental level, many other critics,
both past and present, see it instead as a conscious farcical parody of the idea and concept of sentiment
that was so revered and admired at the time. In A Sentimental Journey we see various elements of
farce through the different aspects presented to us as readers, ranging from the characters within the
story, with a focus on Mr. Yorick, our main character, and farce is even present in the form of the book
itself. And it is these factors we will examine that highlight the farcical nature, not only of A
Sentimental Journey, but most likely a great deal of sentimental literature written of the time. The first
thing to address before we dive too deeply into the exploration of comedy and farce specifically in A
Sentimental Journey, we must first dissect what is meant by the term farce itself. The Concise Oxford
Dictionary of Literary Terms describes it as a kind

  • 2. The Republic Of Ireland And The United Kingdom The Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom An Analysis of Governments, Politics, and Society in the Region Conall P. MacKenzie FP230 Short Paper LCDR Rachael Gosnell 24SEP2015 Western Europe has grown exponentially since the colonial period, and the emergence of the Republic of Ireland and a unified United Kingdom has clearly shown that Europe s boarders are constantly changing. Each nation has evolved in its own ways over the course of its existence, but both show many similarities that are highly visible in governing styles, political parties, and the societies themselves. These differences are what separate the two states from one another. Since Ireland received independence from Great Britain in 1922, its governmental processes and political parties have changed entirely from what they were before, thus causing a massive shift of the public view of Ireland, and the United Kingdom from the early 20th century to present day. Now, it is readily apparent that even though they are incredibly different countries both are successful and in no worry of becoming a failed state. However, there are dissimilarities between the governing styles as well as the types of party platforms in each region that have aided their successes. Ireland was not always its own country. For a long period, it fell under the jurisdiction of Great Britain. Throughout the early 20th century, Ireland looked to secede from Great Britain, leading to its eventual success in the act by ... Buddhism In The Tang Dynasty Buddhism is originated from India, however it seems that China has become the center of Buddhism with the rise of Tang, and the Chinese Buddhism have a profound influence on the development of Buddhism in East Asia. Although Buddhism was introduced to the Chinese people early in the Han Dynasty in the first century B.C., a couple of historical events in Tang Dynasty truly mark the prosperousness of Buddhism in China. During the early Tang dynasty, along with many other pilgrims, the monk Xuanzang traveled to India and returned to Chang an (Place 1) with a large collection of Buddhist texts, relics, and statues. With the support of Emperor Taizong of Tang, Xuanzang set up a large translation bureau in Chang an, attracting students from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Though the agreement and acknowledgement from both sides... Though the agreement and acknowledgement from both sides was a great accomplishment, the fault in the Oslo Accords was lack of action and enforcement, leading way into accusations from both sides. While it is important for both sides to be careful, a peace talk strong enough to mend the schism between Israel and Palestine should be clear in its wording, and the agreements should be enforced. Both sides unresolved conflicts over land, refugees, education, and terrorism prevent any progress from being made. An attempt to establish peace without resolution of these problems will result in failure, proven in past negotiation efforts. The core sources of the Israeli Palestinian conflict should be the focus of the peace talks. It is integral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Palestinians, in peace talks, have proposed balanced land swaps as well ( Middle East peace ). If both sides negotiate with open minds, compromise can be made. Because of lack of enforcement, peace agreements that should have worked have failed. Both sides still struggle over matters that, according to negotiations of the past, should not exist. However, this is not the end to the struggle between the two states. Though some controversies, such as land, are fairly straightforward, others are not. Apprehensions about security and refugees are main concerns of Israel. Allowing refugees could result in a possible change of demographic to a Palestinian majority. As a people that have been persecuted throughout history, the Jewish have an extremely legitimate reason to have safety and security a top priority. They desire a homeland free of jeopardy. Palestinian organizations in the past (and present, involving rejectionist groups such as the Hamas) have wanted the destruction of Israel as a state ( Negotiations). Israel accuses Palestine of not taking action against these terrorist groups, and fears that in the future, a Palestinian state could be overtaken by one. Palestine believes that a two state solution is actually necessary for security. Though both sides have many concerns, to make decisions and statements based on general, wide assumptions is also incredibly dangerous for both sides, and prevents progress. All ... Assess Functionalsu and New Right View of the Family Assess functionalist and the New Right views on the family Functionalists believe that the family have specific or traditional functions within the family. One function of the family would be reproduction or having children as this is imperative for the world as they will be the future workforce. For example family businesses will need to pass down the factories/shops to the next generation in the family for the continuing of the ancestors business. Other functions include economic maintenance this is where the family provides necessities for all the family members for example shelter, food and clothing. Another is that the family helps teach children how to socialise with others and also educate them with the correct norms. An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Halsey and Dennis who agrees with what Murray argues saying that single parenthood and absent fathers is one of the key issues with the decrease in nuclear family lives. Due to the lack of jobs and rise in unemployment men are starting to struggle to maintain their title of bread winners and the industries are changing from heavy workloads so women are more likely to find a job in modern times. As a result men may be reject by the women as they can t financially depend on them so would rather be given benefits than struggle to keep a roof over them and their children s heads. Halsey debates that being in a one parent family with the factors of unemployment and poverty being high could inevitably lead to crime and vandalism by the younger members of the family. Against a nuclear family with a stable income and stable household would again lead to any crimes and vandalism by the offspring in the family. Abbott and Wallace s critically judge the new right about how women are being exploited in the families and how a lot of frustration and unhappiness is able to be experienced by living in this environment. The new right also disagrees to acknowledge the violence that can be cause in a nuclear family life and the abuse a family can actually suffer from being forced to stay and live with them as it isn t socially acceptable to be a one parent family. The aztecs had to abandon where they were living at by orders of their god, Huitzilopochtli, who was the sun and war god. Huitzilopochtli briefly described that the aztecs were to go on an expedition to find a place where an eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus, devouring a snake would be. He told the aztecs that once they had found the eagle, it would signify the location the where they would build the most powerful empire in mesoamerica. • 7. The Contribution Of The Treaty Of Versailles On January 10, 1920, a peace document known as The Treaty of Versailles, signed by Germany and the Allied Nations on June 28, 1919, took force. This agreement was the most powerful of the peace treaties, bringing an end to World War I. Despite the peace it brought to the Allied Nations, it brought nothing but devastations to all aspects of Germany. Due to its harsh and humiliating terms, twenty years after its authentication, the treaty would trigger a second world war. Created as a document of peace, The Treaty of Versailles would antithetically prompt WWII by promoting the infamous dictator Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party to power. Under the Treaty of Versailles, all German overseas colonies became League of Nation Mandates. Germany was also forced to accept complete responsibility for initiating World War I, making them responsible for paying all war damage. In addition, the German army was limited to 100,000 men, the air force was banned from having combat aircraft, the navy lost nearly all of its surface ships and submarines, and tanks were forbidden. These barbarous terms were set with the goal of preventing another war by crippling Germany, but Germans viewed this as unfair, bringing nothing other than indignant reactions. The Treaty of Versailles played a major role in bringing a Great Depression upon Germany. German capital that would have been used to advance industry would rather be drained by payments to the Allied Nations. In order to pay off WWI debt as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Confidence Intervals Confidence Intervals Consider the following question: someone takes a sample from a population and finds both the sample mean and the sample standard deviation. What can he learn from this sample mean about the population mean? This is an important problem and is addressed by the Central Limit Theorem. For now, let us not bother about what this theorem states but we will look at how it could help us in answering our question. The Central Limit Theorem tells us that if we take very many samples the means of all these samples will lie in an interval around the population mean. Some sample means will be larger than the population mean, some will be smaller. The Central Limit Theorem goes on to state that 95% of the sample means ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A brief note: Statistical software often gives slightly different but more accurate values. Let us stick with the consensus of the majority of people working with elementary statistics and use the critical values given above. Summarized: |Confidence Interval |Critical Value | |90% | 1.65 | |95% | 1.96 | |99% | 2.58 | Due to the perfect symmetry of the curve we will find the same but this time positive z values for the right tail. [pic] Now we can start calculating confidence intervals. Sample Mean and Standard Deviation are known, in the case of Sample Size [pic] The confidence interval for the population mean μ in this situation is given by [pic]. Example 1: We are looking at a very large group of tests. Forty five tests were selected from this group. The mean of the sampled tests is 58 and the standard deviation is 13. Find the 95% confidence interval for the mean grade for the whole class. Solution: [pic]. This means that we are 95% confident that the population mean for all these tests is between [pic] and [pic] or more simply said, between 54.2 and 61.8.

  • 10. A Perfect Competitive Market Structure In the economy, market structures are examined thoroughly. There are four basic kinds of market structures in economics: perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly. Perfect competition is the one that is being focused on predominantly. A perfectly competitive market is a market in which all market participants are price takers (Krugman Wells 1). Price takers are producers and consumers whose actions have no effect on the market price of the good (Krugman Wells 1). A perfect competitive market structure consists of three aspects that will be discussed. When perfect competition comes to mind, the Organic Food Market structure can be associated to it or the perfectly competitive market industry. In the Organic market, all the farmers in the industry are each producing the same product for the buyers and sellers. The consumption of the individual consumer or the production of the individual producer will not affect the market price of the goods. In a perfectly competitive market all participating producers and consumers are price takers (Krugman Wells 1). As stated by Paul Krugman and Robin Wells, in a perfectly competitive market neither consumption decisions by individual producers affect the market price of the good (Krugman Wells 1). There are two necessary conditions for perfect competition, the first being that none of the producers have a large market share, and the second being that the goods produced are being regarded as a ... We truly believe now would be the best time for us to begin development on a new console that we and other game developing companies can create and design games for. Over the past year we have been in contact with game developers such as Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda, and Rare; all of these developers had a common interest in developing games for a console that we at Ninesis Gaming Company will develop and design. We are on the verge of creating a gaming console to not only compete with the Wii U, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One, but to surpass them in every marketable area. We have already constructed a prototype ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In conclusion, the time is right and the developers are committed to hit the ground running as we embark on this exciting industry changing endeavor. We are thrilled to invite you to join us on this adventure. We have the technology, and the support of many third party developers who want to create software for our console. With your financial support we will be able to accomplish this goal. Sincerely, Jordan Rowan: Owner (325)555 3232 Abstract We at Ninesis game believe we are in a better time than ever to begin development on a brand new gaming console that would compete with the Microsoft s Xbox One, Sony s PlayStation 4, and Nintendo s Wii U. In this proposal I will go over everything from how we will develop the Ninesis Gaming System and how much it would cost to produce enough of the consoles to be able to send them out to testers. We believe this move in development would put the company into the AAA gaming market. The technology that I will be explaining will show that this console can be used for not only hardcore and casual gaming but, education, and training. We are requesting to be funded to produce enough of these consoles so that we can get them out to testers to see how well they hold up with today s gamers, educators, and work force. In order to develop the Ninesis Gaming System, Ninesis games will require a large development loan. Introduction This proposal will show all the aspects and innovations of the Ninesis Gaming ... • 13. Essay The Art Cowboy Booze, cigarettes, sex, beer, curses, affairs, abuse, paint: All of those are factors in Jackson Pollock s life, however, one stands out above all as the most important one, paint. America s greatest painter, born in Cody, Wyoming on January 28, 1912, had a deeper connection to this colorful, flowing liquid than anyone else in history. I let her mind her own business, except occasionally, I did spy on her, just the see what she was up to. I started taking a liking to her when I noticed how kind and gentle she was with the animals that always hang around the kitchen because of the food. The financial crisis of 2007 2008, also known as the Global Financial Crisis and 2008 financial crisis, is considered by some economists such as Nouriel Roubini, professor of economics and international business at New York University, Kenneth Rogoff, professor of economics and public policy at Harvard University, and Nariman Behravesh, chief economist and executive vice president for IHS Global Insight, to have been the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. All of them agreed that this is a one in fifty years event , however the latest Great Recession is not a typical cyclical recession of the World Economy and no doubt will last for more that usual two years (Business Wire, Reuters). The crisis played a significant role in the failure of key businesses, declines in consumer wealth estimated in trillions of U.S. dollars, and a downturn in economic activity leading to the 2008 2012 global recession and contributing to the European sovereign debt crisis. On the other hand, the behavior with strangers is the complete opposite as he acquires the position of authority. The family is defined as a group of people who genuinely love, care, and look out for each other. It is said to be a bondage that cannot be broken by any means. Families have individual beliefs and values in which they carry throughout their life. As per the research I have obtained, I can summarize that values are concepts of what s good or bad, whereas beliefs are things you believe to be true or false in life. Although in the show Narcos, Pablo may have his criminal thoughts targeted towards strangers, the family is a different story. Things such as his beliefs and values regarding family, keep him from acting as a criminal when near them. Based on research, it was noted that the family is the most important social unit in Columbia. Even if the main breadwinner lives and works far from home, the family takes priority . Both Russia and China differ from the U.S. in their approaches to information security by holding the mind and information systems to be essential components in their perception of information security. This is key to understanding the fundamental differences of Russian and Chinese approaches to information security as being distinct from cybersecurity while the U.S. view combines the two, not considering the mind as directly part of the information space. Cyberspace In contrast to the ideas of information space, both Russian and Chinese references to cyberspace occur primarily in translations of foreign text or in references to foreign strategic approaches. According to a U.S. military definition, Cyberspace...is the Domain characterized by the use of electronics and the electromagnetic spectrum to store, modify, and exchange data via networked systems and associated physical infrastructures. But we only get a snippet in their lives, we don t know what happens behind closed doors. Reading Loftus article made me put myself in a celebrity shoes. • 37. A Sentimental Journey Through France And Italy The prevailing cast of this period is not melancholy nor tragedy but farce . Discuss in relation to A Sentimental Journey. There exists the idea that the period occupied by sentiment was one of refined and intellectual emotion. However, it seems that if this notion ever existed, it was quickly overcome with literature occupying the theme of farce, either ironically or obliviously. A specific example we can point to to clearly demonstrate this idea is A Sentimental Journey through France and Italy by Laurence Sterne. While some contemporaries adored Sterne s work on a serious sentimental level, many other critics, both past and present, see it instead as a conscious farcical parody of the idea and concept of sentiment that was so revered and admired at the time. In A Sentimental Journey we see various elements of farce through the different aspects presented to us as readers, ranging from the characters within the story, with a focus on Mr. Yorick, our main character, and farce is even present in the form of the book itself. And it is these factors we will examine that highlight the farcical nature, not only of A Sentimental Journey, but most likely a great deal of sentimental literature written of the time. The first thing to address before we dive too deeply into the exploration of comedy and farce specifically in A Sentimental Journey, we must first dissect what is meant by the term farce itself. The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Literary Terms describes it as a kind ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
