The purpose of this study is to identify four unknown organisms. The unknown organisms have
been assigned randomly to six research groups by Professor Hoffman. Each research group was
provided two eukaryotes and two prokaryotes. The unknown organisms will fall into the following
classifications: bacteria, algae, fungi, or protozoans. All living organisms are organized into one of
three domains of life, Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukarya.

As I walked into the classroom, I noticed many visuals, hands on materials, child size tables and
chairs. The visuals around the classroom were pictures/ descriptions that can help the children
identify things around the room. For example: centers, a word wall that consisted of sight words
that they have learned in the past and words that are being added, shapes and colors, a calendar,
classroom rules, and a sign language chart so that the children can learn his or her alphabets in
sign language. In addition, the children s authentic artwork were posted on the art board. For a
large group of 15 children, the classroom space was very limited. In this specific classroom, the
ratio was 2:15 (1 teacher, 1 aide and 15 children) and this classroom isn t shared with another class.
The classroom has two long tables with six chairs per table: six red chairs and six blue chairs. The
cooperating teacher explained that she has a red table and blue table because she wanted to
separate specific friends due to behavioral issues. For circle time, the teacher has a rocking chair
right in front of the circle time mat and everything on the circle time board is to the children s eye
level and child size. The circle time rug is big enough so that the children have space and they can

Power is an incredibly complicated, yet simple mechanism people take advantage of, and it
essentially defines every interaction between anyone. None of it is simple to understand, and
both power and control can be expressed in vastly different ways. The four W s are the four most
common ways power is demonstrated or obtained, and there are real world examples, and even
examples in Shakespeare s Tempest that demonstrate these W s being used. Now what are the four
W s?
The first W is to control when an interaction begins. The person who begins an interaction
demonstrates that they are in charge. In Shakespeare s Tempest, this is demonstrated incredibly
obviously in the conversations between Prospero, and Ariel, Prospero s spiritual servant. Come
away, servant, come. I am ready now. Approach my Ariel. Come. (Shakespeare, Act 1, Sc. 2, Line
222 223). Almost every single time Ariel appears in the play, he is being summoned. This shows
Prospero s power over Ariel by showing that he can begin the interaction whenever he wants.
Another potential way this could demonstrate power is if the conversation is hesitated. If no words
are being said and if no action is being done, it is the person that is most comfortable in this silence
and stillness that demonstrates power.

When I first visited the virtual Holocaust Museum website and researched the bodies of the site it
represented discrimination and bigotry. The action taken upon the innocent the dominant leader
Adolf Hitler and the members of his group carried out Jews. The website classified the term
Genocide to commit violent crimes against groups with the intent to destroy the existence of the
group. The central issue raised by the site is informing people the awareness of Genocide. When I
was looking into the cases mentioned on the website many of the cases are racial profiling against
culture, religion and race. During the Holocaustthe Nazis were a group that had wealth and power.
According to Koppelman, during slavery, African Americans dead bodies were tossed overboard
for the sharks to eat (pg106). From reading this example, the Nazis were torturing the Jewsand
throwing their lifeless bodies around. This site raises awareness about genocide and how it
occurred during the Holocaust. My schema has changed tremendously because I knew very little
facts about the Holocaust. I thought that the Jews were just being hated on and not being killed
and slaughtered by the Nazis. I read the Anne Frank passage and she expressed how she felt
during the time of the Holocaust and how it was a disgrace and how the Nazis were destroying
the values and beliefs of the Jews. This reminds me of how immigrants come into the United States
and were forced to be Americanize because of the United States

When trying to sell a product, an advertiser must think of their target audience. For Covergirl,
their audience is mainly women but it is for makeup enthusiast. Covergirl always tailors their
advertisements in the same way. There is always a woman, normally it is just her head and her
shoulders sometimes. She is posed very dramatically and she is always flawless with a clear
complexion, contoured skin, full pink lips, bright eyes and perfectly styled hair. There is always a
bold element or something that grabs your attention in a Covergirl advertisements. Most of them

darkest things, her eyes. They are effectively using the contrasting textures and colors to draw your
attention to her eyelashes. Another effective fact is that Covergirl uses Drew Barrymore as a
model, her familiar face plays on pathos and makes the audience trust the advertisement.
