Analysis Of Jacob Meeting Esau And The Deaths Of Rachel...
Nestled between the heartwarming story of Jacob meeting Esau and the deaths of Rachel and Leah lies
the tragedy that is Genesis 33: Dinah and the Shechamites. With rape and sexual assault gaining more
awareness around college campuses in the United States, I thought it would be interesting to scrutinize
the Biblical scholars perspective on the rape of Dinah. It seems everyone has a strong opinion on how
she was treated and how her brothers treated their hosts, but few appear to have an opinion on Dinah
herself. This is a result of every source at some point essentially expressing the same sentiment: we
can only assume what Dinah thought because she never uttered a word. That said, I will both
summarize what each commentary says about Dinah, as well as offer some reflection on the
commentary itself. The first commentary I read was certainly the most in depth, technical analysis of
Genesis 34. The New Interpreter s Bible (hereby referenced as NIB) paints a compelling picture of the
tale. Interestingly, this was one of the worst sources in regards to looking at how Dinah was treated; it
focused mainly on the action and reaction relationship between the Hivites and the sons of Jacob. It
did note that Dinah is the first daughter of Jacob that receives any sort of recognition, but it also
explained that the most important part of the story was Jacob s curse upon the massacre his sins
executed (NIB 576). One aspect to note is that this commentary never posed the question of

I Am Deeply About The World With Child Eyes
I chose this artist, because she has been a big inspiration on my work. I am deeply in love with her
paintings, the way she combines colors and the textures she creates in her canvas. Starla Michelle was
born in Texas and currently is a professional full time painter in Austin. She got her bachelors of Fine
Arts in Design Communications from Texas Tech University. Her work is mostly mixed medium, with
impasto techniques; which makes her work to have a three dimensional characteristic. Her strong
brushstrokes create bright, colorful patterns that seem to move and flow across her canvas. Her work
makes us see the world with child eyes again. The wonders of life. She is a devoted Christian, and
everything she does she gives Jesus credit for it. Her beautiful paintings are full of emotion.
Starla grew up in a farm in West Texas, where the only access she had to art was a P encyclopedia. At
four years old she would thumb through Paintings thinking Anyone who can do this, has to be happy
all the time. Her childhood was based on chasing butterflies, collecting shells, glass, rocks whatever
she found interesting and beautiful on the way. In the beginning of her teenager s years, she wanted to
be a vet because she loves animals deeply. Most definitely her paintings reflect that. The subject
matter in her paintings are mostly animals, but she also includes flowers to it sometimes. She creates
them in a different way, so they have patterns, different colors and textures.

Teotihuacan Art
Although the Olmec, Teotihuacan and Post Classic are civilizations that are years apart from each
other, many of their basic ideological concepts are extremely similar. Some scholars claim that the
forms of the objects of visual culture remain constant with the passage of time, while the symbolism
and ideology behind objects of visual culture are altered by the different civilizations that adopt the
form and by the passage of time. Form and style are directly correlated, as the style being used to
produce an object of visual culture will have an impact on its overall form and appearance. It is
evident that each civilization had their own art style, therefore, making the form to vary throughout
the different civilizations and time periods in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While certain symbols and figures maintained the significance and meanings despite the passage of
time, art styles utilized by the different Mesoamerican civilizations evolved with the passage of time.
Having a unified system in which each of the figures possessed the same meanings and importance for
each civilization, allowed for the emergence of an art style that could be easily understood and utilized
by most. Before the Postclassical International system, there was not a unified art style used through
Mesoamerica; this system was an expression of the unification among the dominant religious and
political views at the time after the fall of Teotihuacan and before the rise of Tula (Kubler Ecleticism
172). Developing a unique, yet universal style was enabled by the similarities in the ideologies of the
different Mesoamerican civilizations. Through repeated interaction, the symbols and styles merged. In
order to create a system different cultures could understand and identify, the meaning attributed to
each of the symbols had to be somewhat similar throughout the different regions. The merger could
not have occurred if the symbolized used by the different population did not resemble each other. Due
to their similarity, with repeated interaction the

Kraft Heinz Case Study
Strategic Issues and Actions
Strategy Model
The strategy of Kraft Heinz dramatically changed after the merger in 2015. The new strategy is
considered to be iconoclastic. This is because the new leaders of the company are not reminiscing in
the past or using the former strategies that worked for the company. They did a complete overhaul to
the leadership and the strategies that worked for the company. The new company objectives are as
follows: 1. Profitable sales growth, 2 Best in class margins, and 3. A superior return of capital. The
company will no longer let employees slip in to the cracks and gain a retirement, it must be earned.
Since 3G Capital is the holding company for Kraft Heinz they follow the meritocracy model set forth
by 3G. Colvin (2017) discussed the fact that those who do good move forward and up, those that do
bad get fired. It is almost biblical Don t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he
will also reap (Galatians 6:7, Holman Christian Standard Bible). Colvin explains this when he
discusses the new CEO:
Kraft Heinz CEO Ber¬nardo Hees, for example, first became a CEO in 2005 at a company called All
America Latina Logistica, owned by a 3G Capital predecessor. He was then made CEO of Burger
King, a 3G Capital holding since 2010. He moved up to be CEO of Heinz in 2013 and now of Kraft
Heinz.
The infamous company, 3G, uses a private equity strategy, however 3G Capital does not operate as a
traditional private equity corporation.

Video Game Sales Over The Past Years
With the success in our video game sales over the past couple of years, Ninesis Gaming Co. is going
to develop our own gaming console. We truly believe now would be the best time for us to begin
development on a new console that we and other game developing companies can create and design
games for.
Over the past year we have been in contact with game developers such as Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda, and
Rare; all of these developers had a common interest in developing games for a console that we at
Ninesis Gaming Company will develop and design. We are on the verge of creating a gaming console
to not only compete with the Wii U, PlayStation 4, and the Xbox One, but to surpass them in every
marketable area. We have already constructed a prototype ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In conclusion, the time is right and the developers are committed to hit the ground running as we
embark on this exciting industry changing endeavor. We are thrilled to invite you to join us on this
adventure. We have the technology, and the support of many third party developers who want to create
software for our console. With your financial support we will be able to accomplish this goal.

Abstract We at Ninesis game believe we are in a better time than ever to begin development on a
brand new gaming console that would compete with the Microsoft s Xbox One, Sony s PlayStation 4,
and Nintendo s Wii U. In this proposal I will go over everything from how we will develop the
Ninesis Gaming System and how much it would cost to produce enough of the consoles to be able to
send them out to testers. We believe this move in development would put the company into the AAA
gaming market. The technology that I will be explaining will show that this console can be used for
not only hardcore and casual gaming but, education, and training. We are requesting to be funded to
produce enough of these consoles so that we can get them out to testers to see how well they hold up
with today s gamers, educators, and work force. In order to develop the Ninesis Gaming System,
Ninesis games will require a large development loan.
Introduction This proposal will show all the aspects and innovations of the Ninesis Gaming

Modern Medicine And Biotechnology Have Increased The...
Introduction
In the past couple of years, advancements in modern medicine and biotechnology have increased.
Biotechnology, quoted from the Business Dictionary, is the application of biology to produce
industrial enzymes, improved plants and animals, medicines, pesticides, etc., from living organisms or
their parts. Genetic engineering is a special application of biotechnology in which genetic (hereditary)
material of a plant or animal is modified (at the molecular level) to produce more desirable qualities.
These advancements have helped increase the lifespan of humans across the world. One example of a
form of biotechnology are muscle stimulators, which help keep muscles strong while broken bones
heal, because a human can t really use a muscle with a broken bone. Another example is a nerve
regenerator, which help produce cells that encourages nerve development.
Cloning is a form of biotechnology. The process of producing an organism that is genetically identical
is called cloning. Cloning is an asexual reproduction process. Cloning in biotechnology is manually
cloning an organism or molecular cloning of DNA fragments. There are three types of cloning in
biotechnology; reproductive cloning which are used to produce an exact copy of an existing organism,
DNA cloning which are used to produce copies of DNA fragments, and Therapeutic cloning, which is
used to for medical purposes.

The Soldier By Wupert Brooke Poem Analysis
World War 1 was known at the time as the Great war, the war to end all wars. The war fought between
July 28, 1914, and November 11, 1918, during this period of time the perception of war and the
casualties of war changed immensely. This changed of perception can be established through the poets
of Wilfred Owen and Rupert Brooke. In the poems, The Soldier (1914), by Rupert Brooke, and Dulce
et Decorum Est (October 1917), by Wilfred Owen, both poets use language features to help the reader
to comprehend each text. The Soldier is a portrayal of Rupert Brooke s eternal love for his country as
he goes to war. Brooke uses personification and structures his poem in the form of a sonnet to portray
the patriotic love the soldier has for his country. Wilfred Owen describes the grim reality of war in his
poem, Dulce et Decorum Est. Through the effective use of metaphors and through the use of the full
rhyme scheme, Owen s poem leaves a lasting image on the mind s of the audience.
Between the poems Dulce et Decorum Est and The Soldier, there are a number of similarities. The use
of Titling, is established to mislead the audience, in the sense that the terms are used to contradict the
content and theme of the poem. The Soldier evokes melancholy, but in reality the poem reveals that
fighting in war is for the sole purpose of defending one s country, and showcasing your nationalism.
Hence encouraging the act think this heart, all evil shed away , to then state his true extreme
nationalism through the passage no less gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given . While
contrastingly the title Dulce et Decorum Est, reflects jingoism, that is sweet and seemly to die for
there country. While the poem itself exposes the cold truth about war through the tone of resentment,
thus disheartening glory. When considering the structure of each poem, they are very similar in the
way that they are both written as an iambic pentameter. Within addition they both share a notable
structure rhyme pattern. With Dulce et Decorum Est, portraying a rhyme that is disrupted at one main
point GAS!, quick boys An ecstasy of fumbling this break, can be interpreted through the audience as

Community Group Observation
Introduction
On August 17, 2015, I had the opportunity to attend Fayetteville Technical Community College s
(FTCC) ribbon cutting of their campus cafeteria. Not only was the ribbon cutting taking place, but the
revealing of the campus cafeteria name was designated for this event as well. Trojan Eatery, symbolic
of the campus mascot, was derived from Michael Morrison a student who submitted the winning name
of the new cafeteria. This paper discusses my reflection of a community group visit as it relates to the
purpose of the group, the theory underpinning the group, a discussion of the leadership, and other
dynamics of the group that are relevant. In addition, five questions are displayed that I now have about

Keen the president of FTCC gave a speech, but while he was giving the speech campus security was
visible making sure participants could hear Dr. Keen and that everyone was safe. Campus security was
also awaiting the arrival of participants such as FTCC campus board members, saving parking spaces
for these individuals, and guiding them to the main event location. In addition, other staff members
assisted with ensuring students and individuals within the community had appropriate directions to the
event. Customer service is an imperative part of any group, and there was a photo booth set up that
allowed participants the opportunity to receive a free portrait keychain that would assist as a discount
ticket when utilized at the Trojan Eatery. It was enjoyable watching the different dynamics that the
group had to offer, the culinary department served fruit, cake, and water free of charge, campus
security had the responsibility of ensuring the safety of the participants and providing directions,
students enjoyed the free food and taking portraits, and staff enjoyed the event as well.
Five Questions
After having the opportunity to complete my community group reflection visit, there were questions
that needed attention, those being:
1) Where were the contractors, interior designers, and architect? Why were they not included in the
opening of the Trojan Eatery? Were they not invited?
2) How effective has the opening of the Trojan Eatery been in assisting with providing a community
environment for students, faculty, staff, and the residing community?
3) Why are there food trucks such as The Wing Company on campus directly across from the Trojan

1. How has the property tax changed over time for local governments? What are the advantages and
disadvantages of the property tax as a revenue source? In response to these questions, make sure to
refer to the main principles of taxation (equity, efficiency, adequacy of revenue, political feasibility,
and cost of administration), tax and expenditure limitations, as well as the importance of revenue
diversification for local government.
Historically, property taxes have been the primary source of the local government s income. In fact,
approximately 70% of the local governments revenue stems from property taxes (Lee, Johnson, and
Joyce, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could lead to that individual moving to another location, also known as gentrification. Political
feasibility is high since it has historically been a consistent source of revenue. Cost of administration
would be relatively low since property taxes, in terms of keeping track of properties, is relatively easy
because of its tangibility and lack of mobility.
With respect to revenue diversification, local governments have attempted to diversify their sources of
revenue by implementing one or a combination of these taxes: sales taxes, income taxes, game of
chance taxes (gambling, races, lotter, and their derivatives), user charge taxes, and sumptuary taxes
(cigarettes, alcohol, and their derivatives) (Lee, Johnson, and Joyce, 2013). In circumstances that
affect the primary source of revenue, having access to other sources may serve as a buffer for the local
government. However, the problems with these sorts of taxes is uncertainty. Property tax, as stated
earlier is the most reliable while income or sales taxes rely on income/ salaried employees and
consumption of products, respectively.
2. Explain the major forecasting methods used by governments to forecast revenues and expenditures.
Explain Florida s experience with the consensus forecasting process. Discuss which methods are more
likely to be used and for what revenue

The Carnage Of The Indians
Indeed, so bombarded are most Americans with the unexamined ideology of worthy and unworthy
victims . . . (26) Genocides, such as that of the Amerindians, show this grotesque train of thought in
human beings. The dehumanization and murder of the Native Americans was nothing more than an
action made by the Europeans to show their superiority they believed they possessed. Throughout
history, this behavior can be seen in many tyrannical communities, such as those that ruled over the
Armenians, Jews, Gypsies, Tbos, Bengalis, Timorese, Cambodians, Ugandans, and others. (4)
Although many people argue that a variety of diseases killed the unexposed Indians, it is proven that
mass murders killed off a majority of native people. David E. Stannard defends this argument by
giving samples of evidence that suggest that the carnage of the Indians reflects very similarly with the
holocaust of the Jewish people in Nazi Germany.
Stannard brings up valid justification to his argument by comparing the two acts of cruelty. Stannard
shows the similarities of labor for the Jews and Indians by giving an example of the strenuous work
both were demanded to do. In both cases, from the so called silver mountain of Potosi in the sixteenth
century Andes to the synthetic rubber factory of Auschwitz in the 1940 s, the slave drivers calculated
that it was cheaper to work people to death by the tens of thousands and then replace them than it was
to maintain and feed a permanent captive labor

Freedom Riders Research Paper
The Freedom Riders were a racially mixed group, organized by the Congress of Racial Equality, who
challenged the south s segregation laws in 1961. Thirteen riders left Washington DC, hoping to bring
attention to the segregation laws in the south, and force federal action. The plan was to spend two
weeks riding the public bus system from Washington, DC to New Orleans, Louisiana. At each stop,
the riders would purposefully violate the segregation laws of the deep south by entering the all white
facilities, to see if the African American riders would be served. The group was committed to a
completely non violent stand, being trained in various responses, such as not making eye contact with
antagonizers.
Between Washington, DC and Atlanta, Georgia, riders encountered little backlash, unfortunately, this
was not the case in Alabama. In Atlanta, the group split into two groups, seven riding with the
Greyhound bus company and six riding the Trailways. The Greyhound bus left Atlanta an hour before
the Trailways bus. When the first bus entered Anniston, Alabama, a racist mob awaited them. The
Freedom Riders were not allowed off the bus, while the mob attacked the bus, breaking windows, and
slashing tires. After approximately 15 minutes, without warning, officers cleared a path and motioned
for the bus to exit , (Freedom Riders National Monument, Anniston, AL, January 2017). Driving on

groups felt threatened by minorities, and/or superior to them, and/or simply indifferent to their well

minorities to distrust the dominant group. In these situations, MCPs were not the original cause of this

Class Struggle Explored in House of the Spirits and Uncle...
The House of the Spirits and Uncle Vanya are two famous international literary works written within a
century of each other. Despite the differences in time periods of which the two works were written,
they both seem to convey the literary theme of class struggle between the poor lower class and the rich
upper class elites. Both elaborate on the feelings of resentment and regret as a result of the hardships
of life around them as demonstrated through hidden historical connections, literary devices such as
parables and themes, and love reminiscences. Since the beginning of civilization, class struggle has
existed not only as a result of economic conditions but societal conditions as well (Thirteen Notes on

There was the upper elite class of government officials, the middle class, and the serfs. If one was not
in the upper or middle class than life was miserable. A lot of citizens had to make sacrifices just so that
they could continue to live in the meager existence that life afforded. There was no place to go other
than down and no opportunities to better themselves as an individual. Chekhov lived in a place where
people often became depressed, bitter, and filled with enmity (Chekhov 60). Just as individuals in
House of the Spirits had to struggle against their government to survive and increase their standard of
living so did the people in Uncle Vanya. Likewise, both Esteban Trueba and Vanya made sacrifices in
their lives for love as a result of the stigma of social class. Esteban fell in love with Rosa the

How Did The Tea Act Angered The Most During The American...
Have you ever wondered what acts angered the colonists most during the American Revolution?
During this time, the American Revolution made colonists want to have independence. After every act
Parliament passed, it made the courage of independence more wanted to the colonists. The acts that
mostly made the colonists want independence were the Tea Act, Coercive Act, and The Stamp Act.
The Tea Act angered, and led the colonists wanting independence because the East India Company
made their tea really cheap and the British tea stayed expensive as it was before. Parliament made the
East India Company tea really cheap, so the colonists would buy their tea, and make the East India

A Report On The Plane
When most people hear an airplane in the air they may look up and see just another airplane. They don
t think about how the airplane evolved. They also don t consider any of the material it requires to
achieve this most amazing feat. It s just another aircraft carrying people or items to their destination.
The journey began, as most of us have been taught, in 1903 by the Wright brothers when they flew
their airplane for the first time. The aircraft was crudely constructed, using modern materials for the
time. Some of these materials included wood for the air frame, muslin fabric for covers, and aluminum
for the engine crank case (Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum). In today s aircraft some of
the same materials are used especially aluminum. This case study will focus on one item used within
many small engine aircraft; a servo bracket. A servo bracket sounds like an insignificant piece of
hardware but in fact a servo bracket is a very important part of the airplane, with a very long life
cycle. The servo bracket holds the servo which is connected directly to the airplane s control system,
thus putting the bracket under continuous tension and stress. The bracket itself is not responsible for
the entire strain of the control system, this is accomplished by using much more rigid braces, and the
braces take the brunt of the stress. The bracket s construction has to be from material that is formable,
light and semi strong. The materials must be machine formable in order

Examples Of Evil Deeds In The Crucible
The Crucible Can one s evil deed lead to the evil deeds of many? Some may debate whether that is
true or not. I believe so; our actions define who we are and who we will become. In Arthur Miller s
captivating play, The Crucible, he demonstrated the evil nature of greed and lust and the crucial aspect
of making good decisions. It depicts how a man named John Proctor s decision caused the terrible
misfortunes of a small town called Salem. We see how ones evil deed can be a snowballing effect
which leads to the evil deeds of many others. In The Crucible, Arthur Miller is trying to tell us how
crucial it is to make good decisions in our lives. We witness the greed and lies of a young woman
named Abigail Williams and what she does in order to get what she desires. John Proctor, the man she
had an affair with, tries to call the affair off. As a result, Abigail turned to witchcraft to try to get
Elizabeth, John s wife, dead. When the town discovered that Abigail attempted witchcraft, she tries to

Law enforcement, in general, has to adapt to the neverending changes that it faces from the criminal
world. From cyber crimes to armed robberies, each crime committed have the common grounds of a

and assists law enforcement greatly in ascertaining intelligence of criminals and give officers a

Why Do Paper Towel Absorb The Most Water
AIM: To determine which brand of 3 ply paper towel will absorb the most water
HYPOTHESIS: Brands with thicker paper towels will absorb more water as there are more molecules
present that are the key to absorbency in paper towels
INTRODUCTION:
The key to absorbency in paper towels are the fibers called cellulose molecules which are big
molecules that consist of lots of tiny sugar molecules chained together. When a paper towel becomes
wet, the water molecules rush in and cling onto the cellulose fibers which is why it is able to absorb
the water. Therefore most of the time, thicker the paper towels means there will be more fibers
resulting in more water absorbed.

fibers, the more water is absorbed which is why Kleenex was the most successful paper towel brand in
this experiment as it was more thick and held more fibers.
There weren t many weaknesses identified in the experiment design but there were a few
disadvantages of doing this experiment, the main one being that whlist the paper towel was removed
from the beaker using our fingers. This may of slightly affected the results as some of the water may
of fell back into the beaker or were stuck to our fingers. To avoid this, tongs should be used instead.
An unforeseen problem that arouse during the experiment was that we could not measure anything
beneath 100ml with the 500ml beaker so we had to improvise and use a measuring cynliner which
solved the problem but also affected the results as some of the water could ve remained

Essay about The Lovely Bones Movie vs Book
Peter Jackson s 2009 film, The Lovely Bones, is based off of the New York Times bestseller novel
written by Alice Sebold. Both the book and the movie adaptation tell the story of a young, 14 year old
girl named Susie Salmon who is brutally murdered by her neighbor. In both versions, Susie narrates
her story from the place between Heaven and Earth, the in between, showing the lives of her family
and friends and how each of their lives have changed since her murder. However, the film adaptation
and the original novel differ in the sense of the main character focalization throughout, the graphic
explanatory to visual extent, and the relationship between the mother and father. Throughout Jackson s
film adaptation, the primary character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the novel, the murder and rape of Susie Salmon is intensively described, ...cut into pieces... blood
soaked into the soft, wet earth... leaving no question in the reader s mind as to what was happening or
might have happened (Novel, Chapters 2 3). While in the movie version of the book, the murder and
rape scene is not showed at all, only having to be assumed by showing Mr. Harvey, the murderer,
bathing with his entire bathroom covered in blood. Also, the movie doesn t mention rape at all, only
that Susie was murdered, while the book is specific in saying that she was first raped, and then
murdered (Movie). Towards the end of the movie, Susie enters the body of Ruth Connors, Ray s best
girl friend and a medium to the spirit world, while her and Ray are visiting the sink hole in their
neighborhood, and kisses Ray (Movie). In the novel, Susie actually has sex with Ray when she enters
the body of Ruth, with all details being explained explicitly. The relationship between Susie s mother
and father throughout the film adaptation of the novel was complicated, but not as complicated as the
actual novel. In the novel, after Susie s death, the fighting between the mother, Abigail, and the father,
Jack, becomes excessive and repetitive eventually leading to Abigail having an affair with the
detective of her daughter s murder case. She eventually leaves her home and family and moves to
work in a Californian winery

Greasy Lake Symbolism
Everyone knows a person that needs to grow up. The people who are thirty years old; they live at
home and play video games all day. These people haven t had to work for anything in their life; these
people are essentially children they have not grown up into adults. There also people who never let
stereotypes stop, they perpetuate them by continually using them; these type of are bigots and need to
realize that they are acting as children act on a playground; they need to grow up. Growing up is an
essential part of life it occurs in different ways to everyone as illustrated in We Real Cool by
Gwendolyn Brooks: Greasy Lake by T. Coraghessan Boyle: Brownies by ZZ Packer: Greasy Lake.
Many works of literature suggest that in order to grow up; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is illustrated by showing how the black girls have a realization. The girls make a plan of revenge
for being called a racial slur; however they do not know that the white brownies are developmentally
challenged. In the beginning of the story the black troop is considerably racist towards Caucasians ;
making jokes in school like what are you Caucasian (Packer 845) or that s so Caucasian (Packer 845).
The black troops are also very hypocritical, as they feel no shame in calling white person a Caucasian
making fun of them for being white; they get extremely defensive and downright mad when their
provoked by the white girls when one of them calls them niggers . The difference between the two is
that one is socially accepted as wrong nigger the other Caucasian is just brushed off and no one really
cares; this doesn t make either one right. The black troops are unaware at the time that the white troops
are delayed learners (Packer 853) and are echolalic (Packer 854). This means that they cannot be held
accountable for their actions or words; they did not know they were wrong to say, and just repeated
what they had heard. On the bus ride laurel reveals that when you have been made to feel bad for so
long you jump at the chance to do it to others this shows her growing up as a person. At fourth grade
laurel has an epiphany and realizes that she is better than what her friends

Uterine Hysterectomy
Magnetic Resonance Guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (MRgHIFU) as Alternate Treatment
to Uterine Fibroids in African American Women.
Uterine leiomyoma also known as uterine fibroids are non cancerous tumors in women during
childbearing age. The tumors come from smooth muscle cells of the myometrium within the uterus
that changes in size and cellular properties during the reproductive years of a woman. The change in
size and cellular property with hypertrophy of the smooth muscle cells normally happen during
pregnancy and also occur with uterine fibroids. The development of the tumors is dependent upon
estrogen and progesterone and interaction with growth factors, cytokines and extracellular matrix
components (Taylor, Holthouser, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The regulation of COMT activity could modify the biological effect of estrogen and may play a role in
leiomyoma (uterine fibroid) formation (Al Hendy et al., 2013). The genotypes are Met/Met, which
causes deceased enzymatic activity, Val/Val, which causes high enzymatic activity, and Val/Met,
which causes intermediate enzyme activity (Al Hendy et al., 2013). Comparisons were done with the
genotypes and its function in relation to ethnicity and a study shows great association between COMT
1581 Met allele and large fibroids (Al Hendy et al., 2013). They also found that 47% of African
American women have COMT Val158Met genotype as compared to 19% of Caucasian women and
30% of Hispanic women (Al Hendy et al., 2013). Polymorphism of estrogen receptors and gene
expression in myometrium and leiomyoma is the main difference in the frequency and volume of
uterine fibroids within different ethnicities. A study was done where 1,470 genes were identified to be
expressed differently in leiomyoma compared with myometrium (Al Hendy et al., 2013). Out of the
1,470 genes, 268 genes were either overexpressed (177 genes) or under expressed (91 genes) in
leiomyoma in African American women (Al Hendy et al., 2013). The density of 34 protein spots in
leiomyoma was also found to be significantly different among African American women

Patent Indirect Infringement Of Patent Infringement
1.Introduction
Patent indirect infringement,as the name implies,is opposite to patent direct infringement.
Generally, the conception of patent indirect infringement is to meet the need of pantent protection. It
expands the protection domain of the patent right to the no patented products, improves patent
protection s horizontal and provides sufficient legal protection for patentees.
Nowadays, more and more countries ordain the system of indirect infringement in their patent laws in
order to protect the patentees effectually, and the system of indirect infringement has become a full
blown law operating mechanism in the protection of patentees. But so far it is not prescribed in
Chinese patent law. However, as China is more and more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Case Description(Actavis V Liily [2015] EWCA 555 (Civ))
In June 2015,Eli Lilly won a patent case to Actavis in the the Court of Appeal in London. The case
was about Lilly s key blockbuster Alimta lung cancer drug, which was granted a Patent (EP 1 313 508
B1) on April 18 2007. The decision of the Court of Appeal overturned the decision last year in UK
high court, and would also apply to France, Italy and Spain.
At the first instance, Mr Justice Arnold used the improver questions to decide that there was no direct
or contributory infringement of using generic products containing pemetrexed diacid, pemetrexed
dipotassium or pemetrexed ditromethamine. In that decision, Mr Justice Arnold relied on the
prosecution history of the patent and concluded that during prosecution of this case, Eli Lilly had

Analysis Of The Day The Music Died
Released in 1971! Even over 45 years later remains one of the most conversed and debated songs.
Boldly original and thematically ambitious, what set American Pie apart had a lot to do with the way
we weren t entirely sure what the song was about, provoking endless debates over its epic cast of
characters. His eight minute long rock and roll American dream became an anthem for an entire
generation who memorized every line.
Children grew up singing it fascinated by the mysterious lyrics with their cryptic references to 50s
innocence, the turbulent 60s, and 70s disillusion.
Who broke the church bells?
Who was the jester who sang for the king and queen?
And what really was revealed
the day the music died ?
When people ask Don McLean what does American Pie really mean, he likes to reply: It means I
never have to work again.
Passion for the song can be derived from the fact that there are fan websites entirely dedicated to
solving these mysteries.
But now at long last, the inspirations behind his Song of the Century are to be revealed after McLean
put his original manuscript up for auction. These 16 pages of handwritten notes, which have laid
hidden away in a box in his home for 43 years, were sold for $1.2m (£800,000) at Christie s in New
York, to an anonymous bidder.
Structure
The song can be divided into roughly 5 sections:
Prologue (verse 1) A look back from early 70 s and sets up platform for other verses;
Act I (verse 2) Establishes the 1950s as the reference

Responsibility 8: Corporate Social Responsibility 12 4. Recommendations 12 5. Conclusion 14 6.
References 15 1. Introduction Corporate entities of all types need a governing body. In the case of a
company, this is its board of directors. Corporate entities governed by a board of directors face the
central challenge of the agency issue. Whenever a principal has to rely on agents to handle his or her
business, governance issues arise. (Tricker 2012) Presently, corporate governance is an evolving
concept as such there is no fixed definition. However, corporate governance has been defined as, the
system by which companies are directed and controlled. (The Report of the Cadbury Committee on
The Financial Aspects of Corporate Governance: The Code of Best Practice 1993) Recent high profile
corporate failures, scandals and, in some cases, executive corruption, have focused international
regulatory and public attention on the need for having appropriate corporate governance standards and
practices. (Leblanc 2005) As such, much emphasis is being placed on board evaluation. The principles
based model of corporate governance is applied in Commonwealth countries. Under this model
companies are required to report that they have followed the governance principles laid down in the
codes or to explain why they have not. (Tricker 2012) Guyana being a Commonwealth country is
subject to this self regulatory framework of corporate governance. This paper used the

Essay on Necessity of Pre-nuptial Agreements within Australia
Necessity of Pre nuptial Agreements within Australia
Legislation recognising pre nuptial agreements has been well overdue and this recognition will
significantly improve the social and economic impact of divorce.
Pre nuptial agreements, however controversial, are nothing more than a commonsense idea which not
only eases the burden that the financial division of divorce has of the courts, but makes the whole
divorce proceedings emotionally and financially easier for everyone involved. Something as simple as
a contract which states the financial situation of each party before marriage is not giving up before you
ve even started , but an effective marriage contract which allows the partners to discuss their financial
situation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also deals with, to a small extent , the extra finance given to whoever would have custody of the
children post divorce, though this is mostly in the hands of the divorce courts. (www.pre
nuptialagreements.com.au) All of these factors can only help the social and economic impact of
divorce, as it is making it easier for everyone involved.
Before December 2000, pre nuptial agreements were not held legally binding by legal courts couples
could form their own agreement before marriage but the courts did not have to stick by them. This
created a problem within the marriage where certain circumstances called for the division of property
to be different from that as stated by the Family Law Act. Some of these special circumstances might
include if you want to keep premarital assets seperate, if you are blending families (both partners
already have children), you want to ensure that the family wealth stays within the family, or if you
simply just want certainty as to property rights and maintenance payments upon a potential divorce.
(www.pre nuptialagreements.com.au)

Pre Nuptial agreements became legally enforcable today in an effort to reduce the amount of time
taken resolving disputes in the Family Court.... Sydney family law specialist Bill Karras said the

The Beautiful World In France
Organ music rose to offer accompaniment as Lawrence led the assembly into song and into receiving
their healing. They stood to their feet and raised their arms in the air as a sign of acceptance while
joining their voices to present a melody of hymns. By this time, British government leaders watching
did not know if he was a saint or devil and could not decide to kill him or praise him. The healing
service went on into the late hours, as did the singing and praising of God. Outside the assembly, Big
Ben continued to toll, becoming entrenched in fog, obscuring the true shape of the city so that no one
would suspect a fitting was being made for a nation s death shroud.
Two days later, Lawrence and his staff members arrived in Paris, the ... Show more content on

In the distance, dark clouds of unknown origin were thickening as a black curse covered the continent.
As for the government, the preparation they made for the healing service was to remain invisible
fearing giving Emmanuel an excuse to encroach on them as done to Venezuela and Ecuador. Canada
came into the news when it was learned they delivered their flag to Utopia and offered to concede
their country in the hope the plagues of rats and the like would be removed. The flag of Canada was
accepted and placed in a pile with the flags of Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador. Come the evening
of the event, all France held attention to the soon to start miracle service. Like the others, it too was to
be televised live across the country. As the final moment arrived, viewers were being treated to the
nervous excitement being formed outside the assembly. Sidewalks were swelling with the overflow
from groups belonging to conventional Christian churches who came to demonstrate as an act of
defiance. Helmeted riot police stood at the ready, shoulder to shoulder, with attack dogs and tear gas in
open display as a sign of strength. The chanting and jeers would start and stop at the direction of no
one leader. Demonstrators were confident God looked on them with favor as He does to anyone who
upholds the truth. As far as the crowd was concerned, they were pure of heart and planned to remain
unspoiled by any deceiving doctrine. Lawrence s

The Between Female And Female Roles
Psychologically defined, the term androgyny is used to describe and individual that presents both male
and female traits equally and simultaneously. Whilst this individual is assigned one biological gender
at birth, their own personal gender identity does not fit neatly into either the male or the female gender
role of their society.
In many mainstream religions, God s and Goddesses, posses one gender and a male and female
distinct and separate beings, yet there is a long standing history of androgyny in mystical writings; that
is to say the assertion that male and female qualities were originally contained within one body. The
term androgyny is given its roots within Greek mythology. The major underlying assumption of both
male and female sex roles is that an individual may act in either traditionally male or female roles,
depending solely on the situation and needs of that given situation. According to Swain, D. In
patriarchal societies men and masculinity have always been held in higher esteem to women and
femininity. Men have always held a superior status and position in these societies. This can arguable
be traced back to Aristotle who concluded that due to a males genitals being on the outside of the
body, this made him hot and dry and to be hot and dry was to be superior. Women within these
societies are often seen as lowers and not considered worthy or higher status jobs considered weak and
lowered to childcare and domestic services.
That said some cultures have

  • 2. Analysis Of Jacob Meeting Esau And The Deaths Of Rachel... Nestled between the heartwarming story of Jacob meeting Esau and the deaths of Rachel and Leah lies the tragedy that is Genesis 33: Dinah and the Shechamites. With rape and sexual assault gaining more awareness around college campuses in the United States, I thought it would be interesting to scrutinize the Biblical scholars perspective on the rape of Dinah. It seems everyone has a strong opinion on how she was treated and how her brothers treated their hosts, but few appear to have an opinion on Dinah herself. This is a result of every source at some point essentially expressing the same sentiment: we can only assume what Dinah thought because she never uttered a word. That said, I will both summarize what each commentary says about Dinah, as well as offer some reflection on the commentary itself. The first commentary I read was certainly the most in depth, technical analysis of Genesis 34. The New Interpreter s Bible (hereby referenced as NIB) paints a compelling picture of the tale. Interestingly, this was one of the worst sources in regards to looking at how Dinah was treated; it focused mainly on the action and reaction relationship between the Hivites and the sons of Jacob. It did note that Dinah is the first daughter of Jacob that receives any sort of recognition, but it also explained that the most important part of the story was Jacob s curse upon the massacre his sins executed (NIB 576). One aspect to note is that this commentary never posed the question of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. I Am Deeply About The World With Child Eyes I chose this artist, because she has been a big inspiration on my work. I am deeply in love with her paintings, the way she combines colors and the textures she creates in her canvas. Starla Michelle was born in Texas and currently is a professional full time painter in Austin. She got her bachelors of Fine Arts in Design Communications from Texas Tech University. Her work is mostly mixed medium, with impasto techniques; which makes her work to have a three dimensional characteristic. Her strong brushstrokes create bright, colorful patterns that seem to move and flow across her canvas. Her work makes us see the world with child eyes again. The wonders of life. She is a devoted Christian, and everything she does she gives Jesus credit for it. Her beautiful paintings are full of emotion. Starla grew up in a farm in West Texas, where the only access she had to art was a P encyclopedia. At four years old she would thumb through Paintings thinking Anyone who can do this, has to be happy all the time. Her childhood was based on chasing butterflies, collecting shells, glass, rocks whatever she found interesting and beautiful on the way. In the beginning of her teenager s years, she wanted to be a vet because she loves animals deeply. Most definitely her paintings reflect that. The subject matter in her paintings are mostly animals, but she also includes flowers to it sometimes. She creates them in a different way, so they have patterns, different colors and textures. ... Some scholars claim that the forms of the objects of visual culture remain constant with the passage of time, while the symbolism and ideology behind objects of visual culture are altered by the different civilizations that adopt the form and by the passage of time. Form and style are directly correlated, as the style being used to produce an object of visual culture will have an impact on its overall form and appearance. While certain symbols and figures maintained the significance and meanings despite the passage of time, art styles utilized by the different Mesoamerican civilizations evolved with the passage of time. Having a unified system in which each of the figures possessed the same meanings and importance for each civilization, allowed for the emergence of an art style that could be easily understood and utilized by most. Before the Postclassical International system, there was not a unified art style used through Mesoamerica; this system was an expression of the unification among the dominant religious and political views at the time after the fall of Teotihuacan and before the rise of Tula (Kubler Ecleticism 172). Developing a unique, yet universal style was enabled by the similarities in the ideologies of the different Mesoamerican civilizations. Through repeated interaction, the symbols and styles merged. In order to create a system different cultures could understand and identify, the meaning attributed to each of the symbols had to be somewhat similar throughout the different regions. The merger could not have occurred if the symbolized used by the different population did not resemble each other. Due to their similarity, with repeated interaction the ... • 5. Kraft Heinz Case Study Strategic Issues and Actions Strategy Model The strategy of Kraft Heinz dramatically changed after the merger in 2015. The new strategy is considered to be iconoclastic. This is because the new leaders of the company are not reminiscing in the past or using the former strategies that worked for the company. They did a complete overhaul to the leadership and the strategies that worked for the company. The new company objectives are as follows: 1. Profitable sales growth, 2 Best in class margins, and 3. A superior return of capital. The company will no longer let employees slip in to the cracks and gain a retirement, it must be earned. Since 3G Capital is the holding company for Kraft Heinz they follow the meritocracy model set forth by 3G. Colvin (2017) discussed the fact that those who do good move forward and up, those that do bad get fired. It is almost biblical Don t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap (Galatians 6:7, Holman Christian Standard Bible). Colvin explains this when he discusses the new CEO: Kraft Heinz CEO Ber¬nardo Hees, for example, first became a CEO in 2005 at a company called All America Latina Logistica, owned by a 3G Capital predecessor. He was then made CEO of Burger King, a 3G Capital holding since 2010. He moved up to be CEO of Heinz in 2013 and now of Kraft Heinz. The infamous company, 3G, uses a private equity strategy, however 3G Capital does not operate as a traditional private equity corporation. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Biotechnology, quoted from the Business Dictionary, is the application of biology to produce industrial enzymes, improved plants and animals, medicines, pesticides, etc., from living organisms or their parts. Genetic engineering is a special application of biotechnology in which genetic (hereditary) material of a plant or animal is modified (at the molecular level) to produce more desirable qualities. These advancements have helped increase the lifespan of humans across the world. One example of a form of biotechnology are muscle stimulators, which help keep muscles strong while broken bones heal, because a human can t really use a muscle with a broken bone. Another example is a nerve regenerator, which help produce cells that encourages nerve development. Cloning is a form of biotechnology. The process of producing an organism that is genetically identical is called cloning. Cloning is an asexual reproduction process. Cloning in biotechnology is manually cloning an organism or molecular cloning of DNA fragments. There are three types of cloning in biotechnology; reproductive cloning which are used to produce an exact copy of an existing organism, DNA cloning which are used to produce copies of DNA fragments, and Therapeutic cloning, which is used to for medical purposes. • 8. The Soldier By Wupert Brooke Poem Analysis World War 1 was known at the time as the Great war, the war to end all wars. The war fought between July 28, 1914, and November 11, 1918, during this period of time the perception of war and the casualties of war changed immensely. This changed of perception can be established through the poets of Wilfred Owen and Rupert Brooke. In the poems, The Soldier (1914), by Rupert Brooke, and Dulce et Decorum Est (October 1917), by Wilfred Owen, both poets use language features to help the reader to comprehend each text. The Soldier is a portrayal of Rupert Brooke s eternal love for his country as he goes to war. Brooke uses personification and structures his poem in the form of a sonnet to portray the patriotic love the soldier has for his country. Wilfred Owen describes the grim reality of war in his poem, Dulce et Decorum Est. Through the effective use of metaphors and through the use of the full rhyme scheme, Owen s poem leaves a lasting image on the mind s of the audience. Between the poems Dulce et Decorum Est and The Soldier, there are a number of similarities. The use of Titling, is established to mislead the audience, in the sense that the terms are used to contradict the content and theme of the poem. The Soldier evokes melancholy, but in reality the poem reveals that fighting in war is for the sole purpose of defending one s country, and showcasing your nationalism. Hence encouraging the act think this heart, all evil shed away , to then state his true extreme nationalism through the passage no less gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given . While contrastingly the title Dulce et Decorum Est, reflects jingoism, that is sweet and seemly to die for there country. While the poem itself exposes the cold truth about war through the tone of resentment, thus disheartening glory. When considering the structure of each poem, they are very similar in the way that they are both written as an iambic pentameter. Within addition they both share a notable structure rhyme pattern. In response to these questions, make sure to refer to the main principles of taxation (equity, efficiency, adequacy of revenue, political feasibility, and cost of administration), tax and expenditure limitations, as well as the importance of revenue diversification for local government. Cost of administration would be relatively low since property taxes, in terms of keeping track of properties, is relatively easy because of its tangibility and lack of mobility. With respect to revenue diversification, local governments have attempted to diversify their sources of revenue by implementing one or a combination of these taxes: sales taxes, income taxes, game of chance taxes (gambling, races, lotter, and their derivatives), user charge taxes, and sumptuary taxes (cigarettes, alcohol, and their derivatives) (Lee, Johnson, and Joyce, 2013). In circumstances that affect the primary source of revenue, having access to other sources may serve as a buffer for the local government. However, the problems with these sorts of taxes is uncertainty. • 11. The Carnage Of The Indians Indeed, so bombarded are most Americans with the unexamined ideology of worthy and unworthy victims . . . (26) Genocides, such as that of the Amerindians, show this grotesque train of thought in human beings. The dehumanization and murder of the Native Americans was nothing more than an action made by the Europeans to show their superiority they believed they possessed. Throughout history, this behavior can be seen in many tyrannical communities, such as those that ruled over the Armenians, Jews, Gypsies, Tbos, Bengalis, Timorese, Cambodians, Ugandans, and others. (4) Although many people argue that a variety of diseases killed the unexposed Indians, it is proven that mass murders killed off a majority of native people. David E. Stannard defends this argument by giving samples of evidence that suggest that the carnage of the Indians reflects very similarly with the holocaust of the Jewish people in Nazi Germany. Stannard brings up valid justification to his argument by comparing the two acts of cruelty. Stannard shows the similarities of labor for the Jews and Indians by giving an example of the strenuous work both were demanded to do. In both cases, from the so called silver mountain of Potosi in the sixteenth century Andes to the synthetic rubber factory of Auschwitz in the 1940 s, the slave drivers calculated that it was cheaper to work people to death by the tens of thousands and then replace them than it was to maintain and feed a permanent captive labor ... • 12. Freedom Riders Research Paper The Freedom Riders were a racially mixed group, organized by the Congress of Racial Equality, who challenged the south s segregation laws in 1961. Thirteen riders left Washington DC, hoping to bring attention to the segregation laws in the south, and force federal action. The plan was to spend two weeks riding the public bus system from Washington, DC to New Orleans, Louisiana. At each stop, the riders would purposefully violate the segregation laws of the deep south by entering the all white facilities, to see if the African American riders would be served. The group was committed to a completely non violent stand, being trained in various responses, such as not making eye contact with antagonizers. Between Washington, DC and Atlanta, Georgia, riders encountered little backlash, unfortunately, this was not the case in Alabama. In Atlanta, the group split into two groups, seven riding with the Greyhound bus company and six riding the Trailways. The Greyhound bus left Atlanta an hour before the Trailways bus. When the first bus entered Anniston, Alabama, a racist mob awaited them. The Freedom Riders were not allowed off the bus, while the mob attacked the bus, breaking windows, and slashing tires. After approximately 15 minutes, without warning, officers cleared a path and motioned for the bus to exit , (Freedom Riders National Monument, Anniston, AL, January 2017). • 17. A Report On The Plane When most people hear an airplane in the air they may look up and see just another airplane. They don t think about how the airplane evolved. They also don t consider any of the material it requires to achieve this most amazing feat. It s just another aircraft carrying people or items to their destination. The journey began, as most of us have been taught, in 1903 by the Wright brothers when they flew their airplane for the first time. The aircraft was crudely constructed, using modern materials for the time. Some of these materials included wood for the air frame, muslin fabric for covers, and aluminum for the engine crank case (Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum). In today s aircraft some of the same materials are used especially aluminum. This case study will focus on one item used within many small engine aircraft; a servo bracket. A servo bracket sounds like an insignificant piece of hardware but in fact a servo bracket is a very important part of the airplane, with a very long life cycle. The servo bracket holds the servo which is connected directly to the airplane s control system, thus putting the bracket under continuous tension and stress. The bracket itself is not responsible for the entire strain of the control system, this is accomplished by using much more rigid braces, and the braces take the brunt of the stress. The bracket s construction has to be from material that is formable, light and semi strong. The materials must be machine formable in order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The fibers that make up the paper towel are what enables the towel itself to absorb water. The more fibers, the more water is absorbed which is why Kleenex was the most successful paper towel brand in this experiment as it was more thick and held more fibers. There weren t many weaknesses identified in the experiment design but there were a few disadvantages of doing this experiment, the main one being that whlist the paper towel was removed from the beaker using our fingers. This may of slightly affected the results as some of the water may of fell back into the beaker or were stuck to our fingers. To avoid this, tongs should be used instead. An unforeseen problem that arouse during the experiment was that we could not measure anything beneath 100ml with the 500ml beaker so we had to improvise and use a measuring cynliner which solved the problem but also affected the results as some of the water could ve remained ... • 22. Essay about The Lovely Bones Movie vs Book Peter Jackson s 2009 film, The Lovely Bones, is based off of the New York Times bestseller novel written by Alice Sebold. Both the book and the movie adaptation tell the story of a young, 14 year old girl named Susie Salmon who is brutally murdered by her neighbor. In both versions, Susie narrates her story from the place between Heaven and Earth, the in between, showing the lives of her family and friends and how each of their lives have changed since her murder. However, the film adaptation and the original novel differ in the sense of the main character focalization throughout, the graphic explanatory to visual extent, and the relationship between the mother and father. Throughout Jackson s film adaptation, the primary character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the novel, the murder and rape of Susie Salmon is intensively described, ...cut into pieces... blood soaked into the soft, wet earth... leaving no question in the reader s mind as to what was happening or might have happened (Novel, Chapters 2 3). While in the movie version of the book, the murder and rape scene is not showed at all, only having to be assumed by showing Mr. Harvey, the murderer, bathing with his entire bathroom covered in blood. Also, the movie doesn t mention rape at all, only that Susie was murdered, while the book is specific in saying that she was first raped, and then murdered (Movie). Towards the end of the movie, Susie enters the body of Ruth Connors, Ray s best girl friend and a medium to the spirit world, while her and Ray are visiting the sink hole in their neighborhood, and kisses Ray (Movie). In the novel, Susie actually has sex with Ray when she enters the body of Ruth, with all details being explained explicitly. The relationship between Susie s mother and father throughout the film adaptation of the novel was complicated, but not as complicated as the actual novel. In the novel, after Susie s death, the fighting between the mother, Abigail, and the father, Jack, becomes excessive and repetitive eventually leading to Abigail having an affair with the detective of her daughter s murder case. She eventually leaves her home and family and moves to work in a Californian winery ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These people haven t had to work for anything in their life; these people are essentially children they have not grown up into adults. There also people who never let stereotypes stop, they perpetuate them by continually using them; these type of are bigots and need to realize that they are acting as children act on a playground; they need to grow up. This is illustrated by showing how the black girls have a realization. The girls make a plan of revenge for being called a racial slur; however they do not know that the white brownies are developmentally challenged. In the beginning of the story the black troop is considerably racist towards Caucasians ; making jokes in school like what are you Caucasian (Packer 845) or that s so Caucasian (Packer 845). The black troops are also very hypocritical, as they feel no shame in calling white person a Caucasian making fun of them for being white; they get extremely defensive and downright mad when their provoked by the white girls when one of them calls them niggers . The difference between the two is that one is socially accepted as wrong nigger the other Caucasian is just brushed off and no one really cares; this doesn t make either one right. The black troops are unaware at the time that the white troops are delayed learners (Packer 853) and are echolalic (Packer 854). This means that they cannot be held accountable for their actions or words; they did not know they were wrong to say, and just repeated what they had heard. Uterine leiomyoma also known as uterine fibroids are non cancerous tumors in women during childbearing age. The tumors come from smooth muscle cells of the myometrium within the uterus that changes in size and cellular properties during the reproductive years of a woman. The change in size and cellular property with hypertrophy of the smooth muscle cells normally happen during pregnancy and also occur with uterine fibroids. The development of the tumors is dependent upon estrogen and progesterone and interaction with growth factors, cytokines and extracellular matrix components (Taylor, Holthouser, ... The regulation of COMT activity could modify the biological effect of estrogen and may play a role in leiomyoma (uterine fibroid) formation (Al Hendy et al., 2013). The genotypes are Met/Met, which causes deceased enzymatic activity, Val/Val, which causes high enzymatic activity, and Val/Met, which causes intermediate enzyme activity (Al Hendy et al., 2013). Comparisons were done with the genotypes and its function in relation to ethnicity and a study shows great association between COMT 1581 Met allele and large fibroids (Al Hendy et al., 2013). They also found that 47% of African American women have COMT Val158Met genotype as compared to 19% of Caucasian women and 30% of Hispanic women (Al Hendy et al., 2013). Polymorphism of estrogen receptors and gene expression in myometrium and leiomyoma is the main difference in the frequency and volume of uterine fibroids within different ethnicities. A study was done where 1,470 genes were identified to be expressed differently in leiomyoma compared with myometrium (Al Hendy et al., 2013). Out of the 1,470 genes, 268 genes were either overexpressed (177 genes) or under expressed (91 genes) in leiomyoma in African American women (Al Hendy et al., 2013). Generally, the conception of patent indirect infringement is to meet the need of pantent protection. It expands the protection domain of the patent right to the no patented products, improves patent protection s horizontal and provides sufficient legal protection for patentees. Nowadays, more and more countries ordain the system of indirect infringement in their patent laws in order to protect the patentees effectually, and the system of indirect infringement has become a full blown law operating mechanism in the protection of patentees. • 26. Analysis Of The Day The Music Died Released in 1971! Even over 45 years later remains one of the most conversed and debated songs. Boldly original and thematically ambitious, what set American Pie apart had a lot to do with the way we weren t entirely sure what the song was about, provoking endless debates over its epic cast of characters. His eight minute long rock and roll American dream became an anthem for an entire generation who memorized every line. Children grew up singing it fascinated by the mysterious lyrics with their cryptic references to 50s innocence, the turbulent 60s, and 70s disillusion. Who broke the church bells? Who was the jester who sang for the king and queen? And what really was revealed the day the music died ? When people ask Don McLean what does American Pie really mean, he likes to reply: It means I never have to work again. Passion for the song can be derived from the fact that there are fan websites entirely dedicated to solving these mysteries. But now at long last, the inspirations behind his Song of the Century are to be revealed after McLean put his original manuscript up for auction. These 16 pages of handwritten notes, which have laid hidden away in a box in his home for 43 years, were sold for $1.2m (£800,000) at Christie s in New York, to an anonymous bidder. Corporate entities governed by a board of directors face the central challenge of the agency issue. Whenever a principal has to rely on agents to handle his or her business, governance issues arise. (Tricker 2012) Presently, corporate governance is an evolving concept as such there is no fixed definition. However, corporate governance has been defined as, the system by which companies are directed and controlled. (The Report of the Cadbury Committee on The Financial Aspects of Corporate Governance: The Code of Best Practice 1993) Recent high profile corporate failures, scandals and, in some cases, executive corruption, have focused international regulatory and public attention on the need for having appropriate corporate governance standards and practices. (Leblanc 2005) As such, much emphasis is being placed on board evaluation. The principles based model of corporate governance is applied in Commonwealth countries. Under this model companies are required to report that they have followed the governance principles laid down in the codes or to explain why they have not. Essay on Necessity of Pre-nuptial Agreements within Australia Necessity of Pre nuptial Agreements within Australia Legislation recognising pre nuptial agreements has been well overdue and this recognition will significantly improve the social and economic impact of divorce. Pre nuptial agreements, however controversial, are nothing more than a commonsense idea which not only eases the burden that the financial division of divorce has of the courts, but makes the whole divorce proceedings emotionally and financially easier for everyone involved. Before December 2000, pre nuptial agreements were not held legally binding by legal courts couples could form their own agreement before marriage but the courts did not have to stick by them. This created a problem within the marriage where certain circumstances called for the division of property to be different from that as stated by the Family Law Act. Some of these special circumstances might include if you want to keep premarital assets seperate, if you are blending families (both partners already have children), you want to ensure that the family wealth stays within the family, or if you simply just want certainty as to property rights and maintenance payments upon a potential divorce. They stood to their feet and raised their arms in the air as a sign of acceptance while joining their voices to present a melody of hymns. By this time, British government leaders watching did not know if he was a saint or devil and could not decide to kill him or praise him. The healing service went on into the late hours, as did the singing and praising of God. The flag of Canada was accepted and placed in a pile with the flags of Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador. Come the evening of the event, all France held attention to the soon to start miracle service. • 30. The Between Female And Female Roles Psychologically defined, the term androgyny is used to describe and individual that presents both male and female traits equally and simultaneously. Whilst this individual is assigned one biological gender at birth, their own personal gender identity does not fit neatly into either the male or the female gender role of their society. In many mainstream religions, God s and Goddesses, posses one gender and a male and female distinct and separate beings, yet there is a long standing history of androgyny in mystical writings; that is to say the assertion that male and female qualities were originally contained within one body. The term androgyny is given its roots within Greek mythology. The major underlying assumption of both male and female sex roles is that an individual may act in either traditionally male or female roles, depending solely on the situation and needs of that given situation. According to Swain, D. In patriarchal societies men and masculinity have always been held in higher esteem to women and femininity. Men have always held a superior status and position in these societies. This can arguable be traced back to Aristotle who concluded that due to a males genitals being on the outside of the body, this made him hot and dry and to be hot and dry was to be superior. Women within these societies are often seen as lowers and not considered worthy or higher status jobs considered weak and lowered to childcare and domestic services. That said some cultures have ...
