How Does Tim O Brien Use Of Conceit
The Use of Conceit In The Things They Carried, conceit is used by taking two totally unrelated
ideas or symbols and making them relate to each other. Throughout the entirety of this novel,
conceit is a way for the readers to come to appreciate each character and story in a new light. The
chapters, In the Field, and The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong, use this literary device to truly
paint a better picture of the over all feeling of the book. These extended metaphors help the
audience feel what the author, Tim O Brien, was feeling as he lived and wrote about his
experiences. The use of conceit in the chapters, In the Field and The Sweetheart of the Song Tra
Bong connects the themes of loss and recovery to the audience, thus giving... Show more content on

Conceit is shown through Mary Anne s character and mindset. She could be compared to all the
soldiers in Vietnam, especially since she becomes a shell of her former self and joins the foreign
world. She was different than the other soldiers, considering that the violent atmosphere of
Vietnam didn t affect her. She seemed comfortable and entirely at home; the hostile environment
didn t seem to register. (92) Mary Anne was comfortable in the country, and the fact that a war
was going on did not affect her in the slightest way. However, this quote foreshadows what
happens to her, seeing as many soldiers would be unnerved at Vietnam, yet Mary Anne, on the
other hand, accepts her surroundings. There was no emotion in her stare, no sense of the person
behind it (105). As a result of her acceptance, Rat comments on her having ...a necklace of human
tongues (105). The end result of Mary Anne s transformation is finally shown here. It ties back to
Tim O brien s belief that the solders had, ...no sense of the person behind [their stare]. Mary Anne
lost who she was, and became a typical soldier like everyone else in the

Mercury Surface Research Paper
Mercury s surface is very rocky and covered in boulders and pulverized dust. The surface is also
filled with craters. The planet is a grey color. It is the smallest planet but very dense. The surface
of Mercury is very similar to the surface of the moon, but Mercury has more smooth plains. On
Mercury you will not find any clouds, dust storms, rivers or any other sign of weather. The planets
magnetic field keeps any winds away from it. Mercury has a mainly iron rich core. The planetwill
always be facing the sunon one side, lighting up half of its surface. The side facing the sun is very
hot, while the side not facing the sun gets very cold. There is absolutely no sign of anything living
on Mercury, and there has not been any for a long time.
Venus atmosphere is made up of mostly carbon dioxide and some nitrogen. There are also traces of
carbon monoxide, argon, helium and neon on the planet. All of these elements make Venus
atmospheric pressure more then 90 percent heavier then the Earth. Closest to the surface is a layer
of carbon dioxide, which is covered by a layer of clouds which makes it hard to make out the planet.

The three major types of tectonic plates are divergent, subduction and transform. Divergent plates
tend to move apart from each other. Subduction plates are when oceanic plate moves under a
continental plate. This can cause volcanos to erupt and large sized earthquakes. Transform plates
slide back and forth against one another. The Lithosphere consists of the Earths crust and uppermost
mantle. The North American plate and the South American plate are the major plates of the
lithosphere. The lithosphere also consists of the Pacific plate, the African plate and the Eurasian
plate. The Pacific plate is the only major plate that is mainly underwater and is also the largest
plate in the lithosphere. The Earth was once one large continental body called Pangea, before the

Nerds Vs. Nurdle Analysis
In this chapter Nerds vs. Nurdles we discuss the beginnings of the other half of the Project
Kaisei and a project with the New Horizon ship called the SEAPLEX voyage. This all started due
to one of a new generation of ocean researchers named Miriam Goldstein. The chapter goes into
enough detail about her origins and why she decided to become an ocean researcher. The young
scientist is even quoted of calling herself an accomplished barfer for lack of better words. This is
due to her not really being a sea fairing person as her familyorigins as she put it as, ...we re not

I mean for crying out loud my computer is made WITH plastic! Also after reading it I have
started to feel a little bit of guilt. Not that it has me overly messed up it s just got me asking
questions. Such as, How in the world can this issue be reversed? Or Am I compounding the
issue with my own consumer notions? Of course I personally find it disturbing that I would
even be remotely linked to this issue. But I am. Most all of America is linked to it with the rest
of the world following in suit. But I tend to try and put a positive spin on it myself so that maybe
just maybe there is a solution. A clean up method that could work, or a better way of using our
current materials so as to try and make our economy bounce back and stop or slow this whole
water pollution issue. This chapter is now also making me consider whether or not the shrimp I
ate at a restaurant awhile ago may have been affected as well. If it did then what effect has it had
on me physically? Also, another thought that comes to mind is if it has had any major affects
on the U.S. population as a whole? Or if it has anything to do with why our politicians don t
seem to do anything remotely right or close to what they say they are going to do. Then there is
the fact that FOUR MILLION tons of plastic just up and poof, disappear, every year. That in itself
could be a major factor in the U.S. economic crisis as well as a number of other ecological issues as

Does Writing Down Notes On Paper More Effective Than...
Does writing down notes on paper more effective than typing it?
Cerebrum: The cerebrum is the main part of the brain, which has two halves, or hemispheres. The
right hemisphere controls the left side of the body and deals with things such as creativity, music,
and art. While the left hemisphere of the cerebrum controls the right side of the body and is in
charge of language, problem solving, and math. The cerebrum s many tasks are carried out by its
outer layer, or its cortex. This has distinct areas that have different roles. Motor areas trigger
movement; sensory areas deal with the senses, while association areas clarify information.
Cerebellum: The cerebellum is responsible for producing smooth, coordinated movements of the
body. It analyzes incoming information about the body s current movement and position then
interacts with the primary motor cortex to precisely time muscle contractions.
Why does writing something down help us remember it better?
Our brain is separated into several regions that undergo different kind of information. Then there are
regions that process information such as visual, verbal communication, auditory, emotions, etc.
These different regions communicate with each other and each one of them has its own processes
it has to complete first. For example one looks at a piece of art and express their emotions with
language, thus working the verbal function part of the brain.
When we hear a lecture, the section of our brain that handles listening and

Boundless Fluorine Essay
Introduction The elemental group F, Cl, Br, I, and At, located in the seventeenth column of the
periodic table, are known as Halogens. Halogens are nonmetals and they have an effective nuclear
charge, because of this they re highly electronegative. Due to their electronegativity, they re very
reactive and they gain electrons through reactions with other elements. However, halogens can be
very harmful or deadly to biological organisms. Physical properties of Halogens When the
electron shells are filled, the atoms get bigger as you go down the group of halogens. When
fluorine is a diatomic molecule, the F F bond is quite weak (Boundless. Halogens. Halogens |

The color of this element reflects the reactivity of it. The appearance is a very pale yellow
green. This element is a dangerously reactive gas. In fact it s one of the most reactive of all the
elements and reacts mostly to metals. An example of this is when steel wood is exposed to
fluorine it bursts into flames ( Fluorine Element Information, Properties and Uses | Periodic Table.
Royal Society of Chemistry). Which also explains why they used fluorine in the Second World War
to help develop the atom bomb and other projects having to do with that. It s also been used to
help make gases for high powered transformers. It s also used in teflon, cable insulation,
plumbers tape, and a base for waterproof shoes and clothes. Chlorine has a similar look to
fluorine. Chlorine is a yellow green dense gas. It has a very distinct smell to it and has been used
as a chemical weapon. It also kills bacteria and is used as a disinfectant. Chlorine disinfects
drinking water and swimming pool water and is also used in organic chemistry. It can be used as
an oxidising agent and in substitution reactions. But in the past it was used to make chloroform.
Since chlorine is poisonous it was used as a chemical weapon during World War

Process Paper
How to Take a Great Picture Every Time The best pictures aren t always the ones taken by
professionals or of incredible scenery. Memorable pictures are the ones that truly count and anyone
can take them. Getting familiar with the overload of camera settings, equipment and terminology is
a process that comes with experience. Photography is an art that, like many others, takes time to
master. There are many factors and techniques that play into taking pictures. Things grow more
technical the further you reach into photography. As a profession, photography is divided into
different focuses and each style of photography has a set of characteristics. Despite the ... Show

Direct light is based on the size and distance of the light source. Smaller light sources that are
further away from the photo s subject will create sharper, more intense shadows. On the other
hand, diffused light covers the subject in a more full, blended way. Shadows appear more bright
in diffused light. This lighting is usually ideal for portraits of people with uneven skin. A camera
s aperture, shutter speed and ISO also influence the lighting of an image. Aperture and shutter
speed can be confusing at first as they function in opposite directions. The larger the aperture
(measured in f stops) is, the brighter a picture will be. The size of the aperture is the size of the
hole which lets light into the lens. Shutter speed is how quickly the camera lens is exposed to that
light. The higher the shutter speed, the darker the picture will be. Like the aperture, the higher the
ISO, the brighter the picture will be. The downfall to a higher ISO is that the image will appear
more grainy. It is the photographer s job to balance natural lighting with the camera s settings in
order to set a lighting that will make the picture look best.
Aside from all of the technical and analytical factors in photography, the last point to make is
simply taking a lot of pictures. When asked how many keepers do you get from a game? ,
professional photographer Scott Kelby answered I get that question fairly

Rhetoric In Waiting For Superman
The political documentary, Waiting for Superman investigates and criticizes the American public
education system. Directed by Davis Guggenheim and produced by Lesley Chilcott in 2010, the
goal of this artifact is to look at the role of charter schools in comparison to different educational
reforms. The film connects how these factors are producing results that may change the future of
educationfor students within the United States. The plot of this documentary focuses in on the
stories of 5 regular public education students Bianca, Emily, Anthony, Daisy, and Francisco who are
from across the country and all strive to be accepted into a charter schoolsystem. Through the
perspectives of the 5 children and their families, the audience observes how they each individually
struggle to succeed under various circumstances. Guggenheim introduces the different and difficult
options that he believes contains the hope to change the American education system and its

The Feminist Theory And The Labeling Theory
Throughout the world, deviant acts and social controls are committed everyday. An incredibly
significant one that is often unreported is sexual assault within the military. Sexual assault is
already determined as an extremely deviant act throughout the world. All acts of rape and other
abusive acts should never be dismissed or ignored, but rapewithin the militaryis often not reported
or recognized. If it is brought to light, the victims are generally in fear of losing their positions,
rankings, homes, relationships with their spouses and families, etc.... This is not to state that men
are not also victims of sexual assault, but women are much more prone and vulnerable to being
attacked and harassed. I will be focusing on the female victims of military assault in this paper.
There are two theories that I have applied to this deviant act. The Feminist theory and the Labeling
theory both have attributes that are applied to sexual assault within the military. The Feminist
theory focuses on the equality between men and women, and the labeling theory discusses the
stigma of giving titles to those due to certain appearances, actions, etc... I have also found some
solutions that could aid in bringing light and helping victims be more comfortable with reporting
attacks. These solutions would involve creating safe zones within the military base for victims,
although the entire base should feel safe for soldiers, but due to the issue then a space should be
provided for those who are on

Cain Traditions
The lineages which proceeded from the lines of Seth and Cain became two societies with
distinct opposing qualities; Seth s line was faithful to God, Cain s was not; and in the end, the
legacy of Cain was destroyed in their sin. Adam s first two sons were named Cain and Abel
(Genesis 4:1, 2). Despite being raised in the same environment, Cain s character was vastly
different from that of Abel. When Abel s animal offering was accepted by God, and Cain s fruit
offering was not, Cain became jealous of Abel (Genesis 4:4 6). Cain then killed his brother out of
spite, and turned away from God (Genesis 4:8, 16). Adam and Evewere given another son, named
Seth, to replace Abel (Genesis 4:25). The lineage of Seth consisted of those who were faithful...

As the years progressed, the population of the earth began to grow exponentially, and the line of
Seth began to marry those in the line of Cain (Genesis 6:2). They were obviously influenced by
Cain s culture, since they committed bigamy in taking wives of all which they chose (Genesis
6:2). We see that the earth was filled with violence, and by this we can infer that they inherited
this trait from Cain s line as well (Genesis 6:11). Because of the intermarriage of the ancestral
lines, the men on earth inherited great intelligence, being giants of mental power, and as the
generations continued, became men of renown just as Lamech s children (Genesis 6:4). God
was grieved that He had created man, and found it more merciful to destroy them than to allow
the incredible sin to continue (Genesis 6:6 7). But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord,
and we can see in chapter 5 verses 3 32 that he was directly related to Seth (Genesis 6:9). His
family was chosen by God to be the line from which all generations would follow, and by this
sparing Seth s lineage would be kept pure (Genesis 6:18). In chapter 6 verse 13, God states that
He will destroy [the wicked] with the earth. The Hebrew word for with here can be translated as
by , and by this we observe that the earth was wicked through them, and they will be destroyed by
that which they corrupted (Genesis

are a part of a Because of Winn Dixie unit for Fourth grade. The first lesson begins with the first
chapter of the lesson and the introduction of visualization as a strategy to aid in comprehension.
This flows nicely into the next day because the students will follow the same read then work pattern
in the lesson. The second lesson focuses on character actions and reactions through the readingof the
first two chapters. Students can use what they visualized in lesson one to help them with character
actions. The third lesson builds on the character knowledge by delving deeper into the specific

the strategies that were taught. Before children would work on assignments alone, the teacher
would model exactly what is expected of them, and keep examples of what was modeled during
the lesson so the students could look back to it if they need to. Read alouds (Cooper, 2015, p.
37) were used in this lesson to really help children to focus on certain topics of the text.
Sometimes the best way to help children understand a particular piece of text is to read it aloud
to them and discuss it with them (Cooper, 2015, p. 37). Think alouds (Cooper, 2015, p. 30) were
incorporated into this lesson when trying to explain how to use the strategy of character
mapping. Think alouds are a great way to explain to students how to use a specific skill or
strategy so that they can have a better time comprehending it. Semantic maps (Cooper, 2015, p.83)
were used in this lesson for brainstorming ideas from the text to later reference when making
illustrations and creating short responses to the text. This strategy is also a great tool for second
language learners because it helps to narrow down the specific parts in the text to help create more
details of the topic being taught. Cooperative popcorn sequencing(Annenburg Learner, 2015) was
used in the lesson to allow a variety of students to participate in the

My Argument For Working In The Workplace
Employers should provide a flexible working environment for their employees due to the fact that
every employee has a different home life, religious beliefs and responsibilities out side of work.
Everyone s day begins with a third of the hours in our day at work, a third sleeping and another
third getting on with the rest of our lives.
My argument for working in a workplace that are flexible makes it easier for people who are
looking for a job but their home situation is not an easy situation to obtain work. We have a lot of
people that are looking for work that are not able to work long hours either due to their family
situation i.e. single parent or partner works away from home and another situation could be your

This Case Study Is About Applying Qfd In A Managed Care
This case study is about applying QFD in a Managed Care Organization. To enhance total quality
and the complete performance of an organization, it is essential to connect the products and
services to consumers as well as the production procedure. Quality Function Deployment (QFD)
involves the method of delivering top of the line services to consumers by meeting their needs. It
requires transforming customerrequirements into the appropriate technical requirements involved
with all aspects of service delivery (Evans Lindsay 2016).
To identify with the importance of QFD, it is vital that an organization lets consumers help with
establishing and formatting quality standards. Before the case study, the consumers involved with
these services ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some technical requirements mentioned in the survey include font size and color, table of
contents, updates, information that is easy to read and understand, and a section with questions
and answers. In contrast, the customer requirements include what the QFD process is, and this is
often expressed or measured by quality. For the information acquired in this section to be useful
there needs to be a way to convince them so they will favor measuring by quantity. Information
obtained here can be used as the basis for improving service design and modifying the necessary
products (Dror Sukenik 2011)
One important step required by the QFD process act involves the groundwork needed to build
strong relationships with the customers as well as ones within the organization. The second one
involves finding a balance between customer needs and what is provided by the company. When
the MCO in the case study gathered enough information it was determined that a strong connection
existed between technical and customer requirements. As a result, this points out why the sales and
marketing department needs to find ways that will successfully attract the attention of potential
clients as well as incentives to keep them loyal. Before beginning the promotional market method,
a sales department should ensure that the promotional material is designed in a way that is easy to
see as well as easy to read so that necessary information can be understood (Keller,

If you were to spread all of your limbs out, it causes a much greater surface area, causing more air
to collide with your stomach, slowing you down.As for parachutes, it needs to cover a wide

that s why a huge snap up occurs when you release your parachute, the huge amount of added air
resistance at one time causes such a dramatic slow down. But! Circular parachutes need a small

Haiti Cholera Earthquake
In the fall of 2010 Haiti experienced a devastating 7.2 earthquake and, as if that were not enough,
in October 2010 a cholera epidemic was introduced into the mix. By January 2011 the epidemic
managed to kill at least 4,000 people and infect over 200,000 (Cholera in Haiti). Haiti is still
reeling from the aftermath of the epidemic and many are still at risk of contracting the disease.
The main public health problem Haiti is facing now is how can it provide protection from the
disease and prevent further epidemics from occurring? As a developing country it is difficult to
produce the funds necessary for treatment and prevention that are readily available in other parts of
the world. Expunging certain practices from its communities also poses a challenge because the ...

Cholera has not been a problem in Haiti for at least a century so its reintroduction into the
population was a matter of great dispute. The isolated strain appeared to be similar to cholera

The United Nations has claimed some responsibility for bringing about the epidemic as cases of
cholera started appearing near the camp of Nepalese UN peacekeepers, almost immediately after
their arrival to aid in the aftermath of the earthquake (Piarroux). These reports have caused
political and social upheaval as many protested the presence of the UN and the Nepalese in Haiti
and demanded they pay reparations for the damage that has been caused (Cholera in Haiti). The
UN has been reluctant to concede to these demands since it would open the door for other
countries to sue the United Nations so Haiti was forced to fund disaster relief themselves, for the

Examples Of Marxism In 1984
Analyzing 1984 by George Orwell using Marxist Theory Marxist Theory focuses on the idea
that whoever controls the means of production in a society controls the society and the means of
production would be placed with the hands of the masses ( Marxist Theory 2). Karl Marx wrote
and believed that literature was a reflection of culture and culture was affected by literature (2).
1984 by George Orwell is a dystopian novel that focuses on the life of a man named Winston
Smith. The story follows how he is unhappy with the flawed, but powerful government of his home,
Oceania (more specifically Airstrip 1, London) and his quest to understand and overthrow it.

In this society, the Inner and Outer Party members are constantly being reminded of the Party s
power and are essentially brainwashed into thinking what the Party wants them to think and do
at all times. Things like propaganda, two minutes hate (rallies where Party members must watch
a video of the Party s enemies and express hatred towards them), telescreens which watch the
people s every move, and most importantly fear of being vaporized from their very world are
what drives the citizens towards obedience and towards support for the Party. Orwell even says,
Winston kept his back turned to the telescreen. It was safer, though, as he well knew, even a
back can be revealing (Orwell 3). These examples show the many ways that the Party exercises
its control. With all these things surrounding these people s lives, it is no wonder they live in fear
and are brainwashed. All they know and will ever know is of the Party. As Marx predicted, the
Party controls the means of production in Oceania, so therefore they control Oceania itself (

Difference Between Polyp And Medusa
Introduction
In this practical assignment I will discuss what are the morphological differences between a polyp
and medusa and how does the respective morphology affect the ecology of these body forms. I
will construct a hypothesis, write down my results, I will have a discussion and there after a
conclusion. My hypothesis I that morphological differences between polyp and medusa will give
them different ecological roles.
Discussion
According to (Miller and Harley, 2016, p157) many cnidarians have two body forms, namely
polyp and medusa. Polyps are usually sessile, they attach to substrates like rocks at their aboral end
(the end furthest form the mouth). They have a cylindrical body shape, they do not possess gonads,

According to (Foundation, n.d.) most jellyfish feed on crustaceans (crayfish, shrimp), but many
also consume plankton, other invertebrates, fish eggs and larvae. Species that consume fish eggs
and larvae can sometimes have an impact on the human and other predator s food supply by
causing low fish population levels. This can be extreme when large swarms of jellyfish are present.
Next, I will describe anthozoan ecology. Anthozoans are mostly found in reefs (shallow regens in
warm tropical oceans). According (Anon, n.d.) coral reefs consist of many cnidarians, they also
say that coral reefs are home to a large biodiversity. Coral reefs plays a role in breeding for many
species. It is also said that cnidarians can form symbiotic relationships with microorganisms such as
algae. The algae lives in the coral body, they photosynthesis and produce oxygen and other
substances which the coral can use as nutrients. Finally, I will describe hydrozoan ecology.

Descriptive Experience Of Roller Coasters
#Roller coasters are mainly recognized for the thrill. When I was younger I was always
fascinated by the bright colors that they represented. A variety of rides caught my attention but I
was always afraid to get on the highest roller coasters. From what I remember as a child my
family and I visited multiple amusement parks such as Six Flags, Knott s Berry Farm and
Disneyland. All those ravishing places impacted my curiosity about roller coasters stability. Since I
was only an adolescent my curiosity arbitrary sparked on its own it was only until then when I
began to think differently. Although I was too afraid to ride the highest roller coasters I was
primarily curious about the height, velocity, and thrill excitement.
#One of my main concerns of these rollercoasters was the height they all incorporated with each
other. It appeared to me like skyscrapers left to right in a threesixty circular motion. These roller
coasters were exceedingly high up in the sky something I never understood was who would
construct these enormous attractions. I repeatedly questioned the height of these rides while I
stared at them continuously trying not to panic every time I looked up. Acrophobia is significantly
the fear of height, which I appeared to been having every time I visited an amusement park. My
family habitually attempted to give me motivation so my fear of heights wouldn t make me
uncomfortable. In addition, one of the countless days I visited the parks I saw a young boy around

The Consequences Of Animal Production
From both an environmental, as well as economic standpoint, it is in the best interest of cattle
producers to decrease methane emissions, limit their contribution to climate change, and improve
overall animal feed efficiency (Beauchemin et al., 2008). There are several options for reducing
methane emissions, which can be collectively grouped into three broad categories. These categories
include increasing animal production via genetics and management, modifications to feeds, feeding
management, and nutrition(including intake, roughage type/ quality, forage to concentrate ratio,
feed processing, total mixed rations/ feeding frequency, and precision feeding/ feed analysis), and
supplementation with rumen modifiers (including plant... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In regards to fatty acid profile of the diet, the inclusion of mono and polyunsaturated fat have a
profound effect on methane production, with little to no effect with differences in total
concentration of saturated fat (Beauchemin et al., 2008; Grainger and Beauchemin, 2011; Patra,
2013). Among the various types of fat used in research to potentially reduce methane emissions,
the use of polyunsaturated fat (oil) has been demonstrated to have the most extensive methane
reduction properties (Patra, 2013). Among these fats, the most common are soybean oil, linseed
oil, and sunflower oil; however, canola oil has recently increased in popularity due to its
economic importance and availability, specifically in western Canada, where over 18 MMT of
canola are produced annually (Patra, 2013; Statistics Canada, 2016). Although there are few
studies using canola oil as a methane inhibitor (Beauchemin and McGinn, 2006a,b; Brask et al.,
2013; Pinares PatiГ±o et al., 2016), when supplemented at around 3 5% of DM in vivo in dairy
and beef cattle, canola oil reduced methane emissions (g/d and g/kg of DMI) and had no effect on
total VFA concentration, no effect or decrease in acetate, no effect or increase in propionate, and
no effect or decrease in acetate:propionate ratio. Canola oil also demonstrated variable results
regarding effect on DMI and diet digestiblities. Again, the effect of fat on methane emissions and

In recent years, serious innovative work has been conducted on organic light emitting diodes
(OLEDs) for the acknowledgement of high efficiency colour showcases, backdrop illumination and
illumination applications. Notwithstanding, a low light outcoupling productivity still firmly
restricts the general proficiency on the grounds that exclusive a little part of lightcan leave the
multilayer structure because of the extensive contrast in the refractive list between air (n = 1.0),
glass (n =1.5) and natural layers (n =1.7 2.0). In a normal advanced OLED, just around 20% of
the light is discharged straightforwardly into an air and generally, a similar sum is coupled to the
glass substrate (1). The rest of the power is lost because of the... Show more content on

Plasmonic can be utilized as a part of nanophotonic applications with a specific end goal to enhance
gadget execution because of the communication between electromagnetic field and conduction

Virginia Beach City Operating Budget
Transit represents a little less than one half of one percent of the Virginia Beach city operating
budget. If light rail is built, only in its third year of operation will light rail and the associated
inflation drive that number up to just about one half of one percent. Virginia Beach, a resort city, is
a suburban community with many environmental assets. There are green areas to the south that
require protection. As the city is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay these
require careful consideration for safeguarding. Virginia Beach has very little in the way of land to
develop so thinking vertically is a strategic plan the city has embraced and light railis at the heart of
its future when it comes to a unified Norfolk/Virginia Beach Metro mass transit system.
As previous explained in the literature review of this study, those for the extension say it will spur
economic development along the designated route, help lower taxes through a wider tax base, and
create additional opportunities for transit. Those against its creation argue that light rail is an old
technology that is very expensive and will not stimulate economic development or move enough
people to validate the cost. A purposeful analysis, will examine whether light rail will improve the
quality of life for residents in Virginia Beach and if an incremental tactic in its construction is the
correct way forward. Regardless if the resort city remains a fiscally sound municipality, is the

Pride In The Ottoman Empire
As I struggle up this unstable wooden ladder I cannot help but feel a sense of pride in the empire I
am defending. In years past, we Turks have slowly been acquiring large amounts of land for the
Ottoman Empire and finally conquering Constantinople will validate the triumphs we have earned
throughout the west. As a Janissary of the great Ottoman Empireit is my duty to wield my shield
and sword to expand this empire that I serve. The crack of guns echoes through the battle and
arrows whiz past my armored head. Bodies tumble over the sturdy fortress that encircles
Constantinople as I continue scaling the ladder. Nonetheless, I focus on my mission: entering the
city walls. Hopefully, the sultan will give us soldiers a chance to loot the Byzantines

Don Juan Legend Meaning
In all of the previous Don Juan legends Don Juan is doomed to hell for his mischievous deeds
and seductive schemes. Instead of vanishing into the painful flames of hell Don Juan was
allowed to float away as an angel with his love Dona InГ©s. This astonishing ending drew quite
a lot of curiosity as to why Zorrilla would allow such an evil and deceitful man to flourish in
heaven. The same sins of lying, cheating, and killing were committed in all the Don Juan legends
just as this one which is why I did not understand what allowed Don Juan to be granted salvation.
In my opinion for Zorrilla to alter the ending of the renowned Don Juan legend this has to somehow
relate to his personal life. Throughout this drama I noticed the similar association

Swarm Of Honeybees
Criticism regarding the extermination of a massive swarm of honeybees, whose substantially
weighted hive fell from the tree that it was attached to in downtown Edmonton, has become
prominent within the community. Ordinarily, when pollinating insects cause a disturbance, they
are removed from the area via calibrated vacuum and released elsewhere. This removal, as opposed
to decimation, is customary because of the integral role these insects play in ensuring that plant
foods reach maturity and maintaining a functional ecosystem. The Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations estimates that up to US$577 billion worth of annual global food
production relies on direct contributions by pollinators, and therefore, multitudinous city

Response To The Lottery
The story takes place in a village on June 27 where The Lottery began. Citizens of the village
started gathering around a box, filled with slips of paper. Already in the second paragraph of the
story, it hinted, Bobby Martin already stuffed his pockets full of stones , the action starts from the
beginning as to what are they going to do with those stones. The story describes how everyone is
acting normal and how they are just talking and laughing like they usually do. I think that even
though they gave a hint that the stoningwill happen, there was still a hint before that quote. Just by
the genre and how the title is the Lotteryit can either go really bad or really good. Jackson
foreshadows this ending by telling the reader about the stones in piles and pockets that people are
protecting. He confuses the reader by telling that everyone is talking and laughing like it was a

There can be a different meaning to the word win , in their eyes in which it could mean, to
secure as a result of a contest . This example shows that the author uses a play on words so that it
misleads you to think it s an actual lottery. Since it is a dark genre and the story is called the
lottery it gives the impression that only one person or group will be chosen for something bad.
The story is mainly focused on a village where people choose a winner through a box that has
slips of paper. These slips of paper symbolize the equality among the villagers, in which they all
have the same amount of a chance to be stoned. This method was used back in ancient times and
they still use it in the modern day. The reason why is because of how they are so used to it that it

Southwest Airlines are maximizing the use of the shareholder s funds. On the other hand, Jet Blue

their percentage down in 2004. In order for Jet Blue Management to recover and compete against
the industry, they have to initiate a serious overhaul of the strategic management of managing funds.
Jet Blue managers have not managed the company s assets efficiently and effectively. Because
of the September 11 terrorists attack, Jet Blue s Return on Assets (ROA) has drastically dropped

Introduction
Throughout the semester, the class was composed of lectures and recitations where we learn to use
MatLab, PSpice, and myDAQ. After ten recitations, we were assign a group project that
demonstrated the knowledge we had gained throughout the entirety of the course. Although we had
the option to choose from the following three detention circuits: a resistor thermistor voltage divider
circuit, a phototransistor resistor voltage divider circuit, or a standard PC microphone driving the
audioInput of the myDAQ, my group opted out towards the PC microphone detention circuit.
Within the PC microphone detention circuit, the microphone should have been able to detect three
different states of noise. The first state consists of the microphone detecting no noise, the second
state consists of the microphone detecting the presence of some noise, and the third state consists of
the microphone detecting a louder noise than usual.
The Implementation of Hardware and Software
For this project we used a smartphone and the myDAQ in order to make a detection circuit that
could detect no noise, low noise, and high noise. We first connected the myDAQ to the computer
and then plugged the myDaq with the smartphone, since the phone was the sound source. We then
created a new Blank VI project in LabView, we started by producing a while loop followed by

Moreover, there has been a concerted effort to converge countries reporting standards. But despite
this effort substantial differences in countries reporting regulation and practices remain. This
paper explores these differences and the reasons why they exist as well as why they are likely to
persist in the foreseeable future. My analysis and comparison are conducted at a fairly high level to
emphasise that reporting regulation is a part of a country s broader institutional framework.
Throughout the paper, I give special emphasis to enforcement issues because of two related reasons.

There are numerous arts and architecture that celebrate the medieval and the Renaissance history
of Florence. Florence has a past not known to many, you could say it s the untold history that
dates back to the Roman empire. Before the Medici s rise to power, the books of Machiavelli and
Dante, and the David s sculpted by Michelangelo and Donatello Florencewas a Roman republic.
Their influence on the city is overlooked and forgotten in books. The intention of this research
paper is to shed some light on that forgotten past, to uncover the traces of Roman empire in
Florence and the thrilling stories of some of the games in the Colosseum.

Bill Gates is a frugal, persevering, supreme computer geek who can hack code with the greatest of
them and is probably the most successful entrepreneur of the 20th century. While the other side of
him is a hard driven businessman. Gates felt that standards were one of the most important
attributes you could possess in a company which has shaped the computer industry into what it is
today.
I chose to write about Mr. Gates because he is a programming genius, and through his programming
skills, and competitive business skills, in just 25 years, he built a two man operation into a
multibillion dollar company. He accomplished this achievement by taking current technology and

Other things didn t interest him as much as computers did so he preferred to spend his time
playing poker and video games rather than attending classes. Gates got by on very little sleep and
would cram for tests, and pass with a decent grade. In December of 1974, Allen and Gates took a
chance on an opportunity regarding the Altair 8800. They called the manufacture, MITS, in
Albuquerque, NM telling them they had written a version of the popular computer language
BASIC for the Altair, so the president asked to see the version they had written, but they had not
written anything yet. So, Gates and Allen, began working day and night in Harvard s computer lab.
Since they had not Altair to work on they had to run simulations on other computers. Without
knowing if the program would work, Allen traveled to Albuquerque to test the program on the
Altair, and it worked. Once this happened, Gates decided to drop out of Harvard and move to
Albuquerque with Allen. This is where they officially established Microsoft. Shortly thereafter,
MITS collapsed. This did not affect Gates or Allen, as they were already writing software for other
computer start ups including Apple, Commodore, and Tandy Corp.

Supporting Children s Ict Skills
The use of ICT within early years and schools is now an essential part of provision. ICT is used to
help children with their learning and forms and area of learning in its own right. Government
initiatives actively encourage practitioners to introduce and utilise ICT in the learning experience.
Task 1:
There are many things that practitioners can use in early years settings to implement ICT into the
curriculum, for example:

ICT should be used throughout the EYFS for learning and teaching through play. ICT and everyday

important for all settings to give a good grounding for later stages of technology so need to start
off with simple switches, flaps, etc.Use remote control toys to teach all the stages BEFORE
programmable toys to give knowledge and understanding.
Typical educational uses of ICT might be something as simple as the introduction of a pretend
mobile telephone to encourage imaginative role play, which children from a very early age will
do quite naturally. The educational benefits of imaginative role play are well documented. A
favourite computer application with many children is Make a bug from the CD ROM Millie s
Math House. This can be integrated as part of a more general class project, for example about
insects and minibeasts. But any application introduced to children in order to develop
understanding and experience of ICT should not just be enjoyable, although this is important. It
should be educationally effective too. Many settings and some parents use language and number
programs, but these have very limited educational aims, such as practising addition or learning
colours. These programs should be used on a

Another important factor is that terrorist acts, violent extremism, and radicalization are active in the
region and pose a serious threat. These two endeavors, PKO and counterterrorism require a lot of
resources and commitment. So Rwanda maintains a commitment to the world s peace and security
by contributing peacekeepers to both United Nations (UN) and African union (AU), and to combat
terrorism in the region. However, to maintain the contribution of troops in terms of quantity and
quality in PKO and combating terrorism require significant financial resources that Rwanda does
not have. It is this background, the president accepted the Chinese assistance package to support
PKO commitment and counterterrorism efforts within the region and in the world. However, the
assistance offer should not compromise our national interests: sovereignty, peace and security, as
well as national unity and dignity, values and freedoms, and Rwanda relationship with the United

Rwanda s Aid Policy principles stated in Rwanda Aid Policy 2006 document, which align with

Erikson and Goffman on American Identity Essay
When foreigners think of America, they think of McDonald s, the Statue of Liberty, Hollywood
film stars, and the list goes on. In terms of Americans, people associate Texans with cowboy boats,
Californians with surfboards, and New Yorkers with a snobbish grin on their face. It is true that all
these things represent America in one way or another, but what exactly is American identity?
Erikson s analysis on American identity has drawn attention to four topics: Mom, adolescent, boss,
and machine. He links all four topics together by using the myth of John Henry Hero. Goffman, on
the other hand, develops dramaturgical analysis to understand human behaviors. He sees men as

Second, parents do not satisfy everything the child demands, and the child feels neglected and
grows distant from his parents. John Henry left his parents because his parents fed the dogs
before they fed him. Third, he left because he was sure that he could take care of himself. John
Henry took into his grave believing that a man counts only as a man (Erikson, P. 299). Hence, in
another point of view, he abandoned his parents just as Erikson says, it was the child who
abandoned the mother, because he had been in such a hurry to become independent (Erikson,
P.296).This abandonment also lead to another factor rejections to intimate feelings. Erikson finds
not only the sorrow of having been abandoned but also the fear of committing to deep emotions
(Erikson, P.301) in cowboys because there is a mental barrier in knowing that they have
abandoned their mothers and have been abandoned by her. Cowboys, thus, are usually rather
lonely people. Their job will not let them see their family nor their friends very often. They are the

This lack of presence of coliforms may indicate the absence of fecal matter in our water sample,
however; it does not indicate whether the water sample is safe for swimming in or drinking from.
It is possible that the non coliform bacteria, which was potentially incubated in lab, could pose a
hazard to the public if consumed or if the microbes enter the body. Additionally, our results may
be a false negative. It is possible that the time which passed between the collection and
refrigeration time of the microbe was significant enough to cause the coliforms to die or be out
performed by additional microbes living in the same sample. This could cause the numbers of the
coliforms of interest to be so low our test was unable to detect their presence. To prevent this
possibility in the future a cooler could be brought to the site of interest and the sample could be

The Pros And Cons Of Evolutionism
Evolution is, a theory that the differences between modern plants and animals are because of
changes that happened by a natural process over a very long time. When studying evolution many
arguments tend to be something along the lines of fossil records. Evolutionists believe that there
are some missing links, but thats only because those fossils have not been found. Evolutionists
argue that by observing the fossils they have found it was clear that they fall in line with the
evolutiontheory. Evolutionist also claim to have a plethora of DNA evidence. To add onto their
finding they have also been able to observe evolution through bacteria. They have seen how
bacteria has changed and become stronger in order to survive. Evolutionist believe this theory to be
true, because all the evidence points towards evolution.

Most people are so one sided, especially evolutionist, that everything they say and find is true.
However, many creationist believe that God created the heavens and the earth, but there may have
been some science along the way. Evolutionists have many gaps unaccounted for and they say it s
because they just haven t found fossils or DNA for that gap yet. However, creationist believe that
the reason they have yet to find those missing puzzle pieces is because what they are looking for
does not exist. They believe that those missing puzzle pieces are God s doing. Although these
theories are completely different from one another they both have beneficial factors and negative
factors.
In evolution many things can be explained. Evolution is like a puzzle, and as you start putting the
pieces together it just makes since. There is no faith that evolutionists have to rely on or
contemplate. All evolutionists have to believe in science, because they believe that they are the

The Most Formative Experience Of My Christian Life
Carmanie Bhatti s Written Response to 310.2 a d
For
The Board of Ordained Ministry, Northern Illinois Conference of the UMC
i. The Most Formative Experience of My Christian Life:
I grew up in Pakistan with a diverse culture around me. Before moving to the U.S., the city I
grew up in was a blend of people who lived there because of their jobs, education and business
purposes. I learned that poverty, marginalization and violence, neither had a religion nor selects
people of a specific faith to attack them. This made me devote myself to the church and its
programs to serve all children of God spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and fighting for
social justice against the systemic evil in the world.
At church, in addition to my participation in the worship services, I volunteered at our church s
soup kitchen, medical camps and elementary school for underprivileged children. These
experiences opened my eyes to the deprivation of love and care in the world and a dire need of God
s grace for people at large so they could receive forgiveness, healing and restoration in their lives.
My spiritual formation took a new turn when in 2013 my parents house was burned down in an
arson. At that time, I was living with my parents. Since, the house was not insured, our local church
and our acquaintances in the neighborhood helped us financially so we could rebuild our house,
while a family in the neighborhood gave us shelter at their house. The love and care of the

Strategies for Improving Student’s Content Area Reading to...
Before a student can even begin to understand how to read expository content within a text book,
they must first begin to read meaningfully and they reasons behind why they read. Reading is not
just for entertainment, it is also used to acquire information. Reading any form of text opens its
audience, the reader, to the world without them having to buy a plane ticket or putting them in
dangerous situations to gain firsthand experience (content within storybooks or novels). Reading
opens one s cognitive eye . Once a tolerance for reading is achieved, students can gather information
from every text that they read, whether fact or fiction. Reading in content area is basically about
students interacting with text before, during, and after... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, this strategy could b used to teach a history or literature class, where students are put
into groups, assigned a character or historical figure, and using text and other resources, research
the person they are demonstrating and make direct quotes from what they have done or said. They
present it to their fellow classmates; there each student takes an active role in gathering information
to be displayed. Introducing conflicting thought: Teacher presents students with a scenario that
goes contrary to what they have previously learnt, ask them to research the following to discredit
either what was learnt or what was now presented to them. For example, this strategy could be
used in Science, where the teacher states the sky is not blue, or that colours that we see are not
their actual colours, this could be done while teaching the topic of light. Introducing such scenarios
causes disequilibrium and students seek the need (through research) to discredit it. Project based
assessment: here students are given topics to review and present. The teacher provides a hotlist (a
list of resource books) where they are to gather information and organize it to present orally or
otherwise. This strategy could be used in teaching Studies Studies under any scheme of work, for
instance, in teaching about the

  • 2. How Does Tim O Brien Use Of Conceit The Use of Conceit In The Things They Carried, conceit is used by taking two totally unrelated ideas or symbols and making them relate to each other. Throughout the entirety of this novel, conceit is a way for the readers to come to appreciate each character and story in a new light. The chapters, In the Field, and The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong, use this literary device to truly paint a better picture of the over all feeling of the book. These extended metaphors help the audience feel what the author, Tim O Brien, was feeling as he lived and wrote about his experiences. The use of conceit in the chapters, In the Field and The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong connects the themes of loss and recovery to the audience, thus giving... She could be compared to all the soldiers in Vietnam, especially since she becomes a shell of her former self and joins the foreign world. She was different than the other soldiers, considering that the violent atmosphere of Vietnam didn t affect her. She seemed comfortable and entirely at home; the hostile environment didn t seem to register. (92) Mary Anne was comfortable in the country, and the fact that a war was going on did not affect her in the slightest way. However, this quote foreshadows what happens to her, seeing as many soldiers would be unnerved at Vietnam, yet Mary Anne, on the other hand, accepts her surroundings. There was no emotion in her stare, no sense of the person behind it (105). As a result of her acceptance, Rat comments on her having ...a necklace of human tongues (105). The end result of Mary Anne s transformation is finally shown here. It ties back to Tim O brien s belief that the solders had, ...no sense of the person behind [their stare]. Mary Anne lost who she was, and became a typical soldier like everyone else in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Mercury Surface Research Paper Mercury s surface is very rocky and covered in boulders and pulverized dust. The surface is also filled with craters. The planet is a grey color. It is the smallest planet but very dense. The surface of Mercury is very similar to the surface of the moon, but Mercury has more smooth plains. On Mercury you will not find any clouds, dust storms, rivers or any other sign of weather. The planets magnetic field keeps any winds away from it. Mercury has a mainly iron rich core. The planetwill always be facing the sunon one side, lighting up half of its surface. The side facing the sun is very hot, while the side not facing the sun gets very cold. There is absolutely no sign of anything living on Mercury, and there has not been any for a long time. Venus atmosphere is made up of mostly carbon dioxide and some nitrogen. There are also traces of carbon monoxide, argon, helium and neon on the planet. All of these elements make Venus atmospheric pressure more then 90 percent heavier then the Earth. Closest to the surface is a layer of carbon dioxide, which is covered by a layer of clouds which makes it hard to make out the planet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The three major types of tectonic plates are divergent, subduction and transform. Divergent plates tend to move apart from each other. Subduction plates are when oceanic plate moves under a continental plate. This can cause volcanos to erupt and large sized earthquakes. Transform plates slide back and forth against one another. The Lithosphere consists of the Earths crust and uppermost mantle. The North American plate and the South American plate are the major plates of the lithosphere. The lithosphere also consists of the Pacific plate, the African plate and the Eurasian plate. • 4. Nerds Vs. Nurdle Analysis In this chapter Nerds vs. Nurdles we discuss the beginnings of the other half of the Project Kaisei and a project with the New Horizon ship called the SEAPLEX voyage. This all started due to one of a new generation of ocean researchers named Miriam Goldstein. The chapter goes into enough detail about her origins and why she decided to become an ocean researcher. The young scientist is even quoted of calling herself an accomplished barfer for lack of better words. This is due to her not really being a sea fairing person as her familyorigins as she put it as, ...we re not really a very outdoorsy family, but she started small in the oceanic research department at the University of California in coastal pollutionfocusing mainly on knee deep... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I mean for crying out loud my computer is made WITH plastic! Also after reading it I have started to feel a little bit of guilt. Not that it has me overly messed up it s just got me asking questions. Such as, How in the world can this issue be reversed? Or Am I compounding the issue with my own consumer notions? Of course I personally find it disturbing that I would even be remotely linked to this issue. But I am. Most all of America is linked to it with the rest of the world following in suit. But I tend to try and put a positive spin on it myself so that maybe just maybe there is a solution. A clean up method that could work, or a better way of using our current materials so as to try and make our economy bounce back and stop or slow this whole water pollution issue. This chapter is now also making me consider whether or not the shrimp I ate at a restaurant awhile ago may have been affected as well. If it did then what effect has it had on me physically? Also, another thought that comes to mind is if it has had any major affects on the U.S. population as a whole? Cerebrum: The cerebrum is the main part of the brain, which has two halves, or hemispheres. The right hemisphere controls the left side of the body and deals with things such as creativity, music, and art. While the left hemisphere of the cerebrum controls the right side of the body and is in charge of language, problem solving, and math. The cerebrum s many tasks are carried out by its outer layer, or its cortex. This has distinct areas that have different roles. Motor areas trigger movement; sensory areas deal with the senses, while association areas clarify information. Cerebellum: The cerebellum is responsible for producing smooth, coordinated movements of the body. It analyzes incoming information about the body s current movement and position then interacts with the primary motor cortex to precisely time muscle contractions. Why does writing something down help us remember it better? Our brain is separated into several regions that undergo different kind of information. Then there are regions that process information such as visual, verbal communication, auditory, emotions, etc. These different regions communicate with each other and each one of them has its own processes it has to complete first. For example one looks at a piece of art and express their emotions with language, thus working the verbal function part of the brain. Halogens are nonmetals and they have an effective nuclear charge, because of this they re highly electronegative. Due to their electronegativity, they re very reactive and they gain electrons through reactions with other elements. However, halogens can be very harmful or deadly to biological organisms. It s also been used to help make gases for high powered transformers. It s also used in teflon, cable insulation, plumbers tape, and a base for waterproof shoes and clothes. Chlorine has a similar look to fluorine. Chlorine is a yellow green dense gas. It has a very distinct smell to it and has been used as a chemical weapon. It also kills bacteria and is used as a disinfectant. Chlorine disinfects drinking water and swimming pool water and is also used in organic chemistry. Photography is an art that, like many others, takes time to master. There are many factors and techniques that play into taking pictures. Smaller light sources that are further away from the photo s subject will create sharper, more intense shadows. On the other hand, diffused light covers the subject in a more full, blended way. Shadows appear more bright in diffused light. This lighting is usually ideal for portraits of people with uneven skin. A camera s aperture, shutter speed and ISO also influence the lighting of an image. Aperture and shutter speed can be confusing at first as they function in opposite directions. The larger the aperture (measured in f stops) is, the brighter a picture will be. The size of the aperture is the size of the hole which lets light into the lens. Shutter speed is how quickly the camera lens is exposed to that light. The higher the shutter speed, the darker the picture will be. Like the aperture, the higher the ISO, the brighter the picture will be. The downfall to a higher ISO is that the image will appear more grainy. It is the photographer s job to balance natural lighting with the camera s settings in order to set a lighting that will make the picture look best. The Feminist theory and the Labeling theory both have attributes that are applied to sexual assault within the military. The Feminist theory focuses on the equality between men and women, and the labeling theory discusses the stigma of giving titles to those due to certain appearances, actions, etc... We see that the earth was filled with violence, and by this we can infer that they inherited this trait from Cain s line as well (Genesis 6:11). Because of the intermarriage of the ancestral lines, the men on earth inherited great intelligence, being giants of mental power, and as the generations continued, became men of renown just as Lamech s children (Genesis 6:4). It requires transforming customerrequirements into the appropriate technical requirements involved with all aspects of service delivery (Evans Lindsay 2016). For the information acquired in this section to be useful there needs to be a way to convince them so they will favor measuring by quantity. Information obtained here can be used as the basis for improving service design and modifying the necessary products (Dror Sukenik 2011) One important step required by the QFD process act involves the groundwork needed to build strong relationships with the customers as well as ones within the organization. Although, there is such a big leap between 2002 and 2003, due to the effects of the September 11 attacks, the airlines tried to recover enough to bring the number back down. The managers at Southwest Airlines are maximizing the use of the shareholder s funds. On the other hand, Jet Blue is doing very poorly in utilizing their shareholder s funds. But in fairness, they were able to bring their percentage down in 2004. In order for Jet Blue Management to recover and compete against the industry, they have to initiate a serious overhaul of the strategic management of managing funds. Jet Blue managers have not managed the company s assets efficiently and effectively. Because of the September 11 terrorists attack, Jet Blue s Return on Assets (ROA) has drastically dropped from 2003 to 2004. It is very far from showing profitability and best use of its assets. After ten recitations, we were assign a group project that demonstrated the knowledge we had gained throughout the entirety of the course. Although we had the option to choose from the following three detention circuits: a resistor thermistor voltage divider circuit, a phototransistor resistor voltage divider circuit, or a standard PC microphone driving the audioInput of the myDAQ, my group opted out towards the PC microphone detention circuit. Within the PC microphone detention circuit, the microphone should have been able to detect three different states of noise. The first state consists of the microphone detecting no noise, the second state consists of the microphone detecting the presence of some noise, and the third state consists of the microphone detecting a louder noise than usual. The Implementation of Hardware and Software For this project we used a smartphone and the myDAQ in order to make a detection circuit that could detect no noise, low noise, and high noise. We first connected the myDAQ to the computer and then plugged the myDaq with the smartphone, since the phone was the sound source. We then created a new Blank VI project in LabView, we started by producing a while loop followed by choosing acquire signals, analog input voltage, and finally selecting audioInputLeft and audioInputRight. Erikson s analysis on American identity has drawn attention to four topics: Mom, adolescent, boss, and machine. He links all four topics together by using the myth of John Henry Hero. Before moving to the U.S., the city I grew up in was a blend of people who lived there because of their jobs, education and business purposes. I learned that poverty, marginalization and violence, neither had a religion nor selects people of a specific faith to attack them.
