Interlopers And The Most Dangerous Game Comparison Essay
The Interlopers and The Most Dangerous Game: Comparing
In this essay the two masterful short stories, The Interlopers and The Most Dangerous Game, The
powerful messages create interesting elements in both stories, in both equal and opposite ways, the
further you get into it, it gives a deeper understanding to the tangentially layered meanings they
posses.
The underlying themes of the stories are while less forthright, are still valid contrasts between the
works. In some portions the themes are of the same facet such as how in both books two men have a
direct conflict between one another, but in the end the most prominent themes are; Man vs. Nature in
The Interlopers, as in the end even as man has petty struggles amongst his kind, nature dictates his
end, and Man vs. Himself in The Most Dangerous Game, as the life or death conflict between the two
hunters throws the story like a ragdoll. This theme dissimilarity, while subtle, is a major difference. ...

Both stories move with small twists throughout, and lead up to an ironic, and arguably comical,
conclusion. The two stories are gut wrenchingly suspenseful at some times, from escaping a serial

Carl Sandburg and How He was Influenced by Walt Whitman
Carl Sandburg and Walt Whitman had very similar lives. They both came from working class families
and neither one of them went to high school or graduated college. They learned from watching people
and by reading books on their own. They both had a certain sense for the world that made them able to
see what was going on around them and grasp its significance. Although Whitman was born sixty
years before Sandburg there were still a lot of the same things happening in America and they both
picked up on one important factor of the time, that of the average working class man. Whitman and
Sandburg admired the working class man for all of his hard work and they wrote a lot about this ...

From this poem one can feel the compassion that Whitman has for the common American
workingman. He has much respect for him and believes that he is what makes up America and what
causes America to keep on moving. He portrays the workers to all be singing to emphasize that they
are proud of the work that they do. Whitman and Sandburg both enjoy going through and naming each
of the workers separately in order to display the vast number of people who fall into the working class.
In the poem above you can see how Whitman talks about how the different workers enjoy their jobs
and are happy with the talents that they have in their specialized positions. The last line of part 1
demonstrates how the workers leave their work and are able to relax and enjoy their lives at night
when the work day is over. The second part of I hear American Singing is Whitman sending an

Theories Of Motivation Theories
Motivation in leadership through Achievement Motivation Theory
MM3151 Managerial Leadership
Introduction
Motivation is the willingness to exert high levels of effort towards a goal, provided the effort made
also satisfied some individual need. (Keenan K., 1995, e.g. 60)
Everyone at least once asked themselves: What I am doing now? , Where will it bring me? , How can
it help me to reach my target? . These questions have always accompanied me and help to understand
what I want and what is my goal. We have a motivation from the childhood, for example, to get sweets
or toys: every child love candies, chocolates, toys, and parents motivate us by saying: Study hard, get
a high mark and I will buy you everything ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Colonialism And Historiography Of The Colonial Revival
The Colonial Revival is a phenomenon that materialized as a national expression of American culture
from the 1870s to its peak between 1880 and 1940. The Colonial Revival was more about ideology
but most often manifested itself through decorative arts and architecture. Elements of pseudo colonial
furniture, arts and architecture symbolically served as tools to promote the republican ideas of
democracy, patriotism and moral superiority. In many ways the Colonial Revival was a direct reaction
to the side effects of Industrialization and progress. Ironically many times participants of the revival
used modern techniques as a means to accomplish their singular goal. Historian Alan Axelrod argues,
Colonialism is not a surface phenomenon, a thin verneer over the real body of American life, but a
network of communications and linkages that reach deep into American experience and behavior.
Historians examine the movement from various perspectives; the Colonial Revival as a social and
cultural movement, its representation in U.S. material culture, and its significance to immigration and
nationalism. Scholarship includes everything from Alan Axelrod s The Colonial Revival in America
from 1985 to Briann G. Greenfield s Out of the Attic: Antiques in Twentieth Century New England
from 2009. A variety of monographs and collections of essays will be analyzed to determine
correlations and points of dissent within the historiography of the Colonial

The Problem Of Addiction And Addiction
This ted talk was phenomenal it made me really think of how we react to addicts, addiction issues, and
related topics. Johann Hari, did a great job of explaining the current methods of handling addiction
from many perspectives, such as political and societal. His journey within his own family took him all
over the world to find the answers he wanted to know for himself and I think this was an inspiring
investigation. I believe it is important to investigate as much as possible when you are looking for a
new solution to any issue.
He explained that much of what we think we know about addiction is wrong and gave many examples
of why it is incorrect (Hari, 2015). One specific example that he discussed was if the audience all did
heroin for 3 weeks what would we as a society predict would happen next (e.g. addiction/chemical
hooks leading to dependence/physical need). It is clear the common assumption would be that they
would become addicts after those 3 weeks. He then went on to say what if he got hit by a car and was
given Diamorphine, which is a stronger form of heroin. He would have to use it over a period of time
and would become addicted. Again, we would think that he would become an addict form this strong
medication because as a society this is the common belief of how the addiction process works.
Another example he used was if your grandmother had a hip replacement and was given medication
for it. She would not become an addict, which in my case this did happen and

In todays society, women have the equal amount of rights compared to the male. Women can work
wherever they so chose, vote for whoever they may chose, and pick a lifestyle of their own desire.
This type of society has never been forever, meaning men were inferior to women at one point in time.

Introduction In 1985 after federal deregulation of natural gas pipelines Enron was formed through a

energy derivatives and in 1990 formed Enron Finance Corp. By 1996 Enron had also formed Enron
Capital and Trade Resources increasing their growth from $2 billion to $7 billion and increasing
division employment from 200 to 2,000. In 1999 Enron entered the technology market by creating
Enron Online (EOL). By August of 2000 Enron stock hit its zenith at $90.56/share and the firm was

energy prices began to decline as the world economy entered into a recession. Enron began to use

order to maintain their credit rating. It would be the use of the SPEs that eventually cause Enron to

The Film Catch Me If You Can Accurately Show Frank...
Does the film Catch Me If You Can accurately show Frank Abagnale Jr s crimes? I believe the movie
glamorized Frank s crimes and made them a little bit better than they actually were, of course you can
expect this from Hollywood. Frank Abagnale Jr. made a lot of mistakes as a teenager. He was trying to
make a life for himself out in the real world and be able to make money. Frank was determined too, he
could think of amazing ways to make a buck. Which eventually led him to posing as a teacher, doctor,
pilot on a commercial airline, CIA agent, and a lawyer. He also committed many different kinds of
crimes including cashing fake checks at hundreds of different banks all across the world, printing fake
checks, unlawfully obtaining private information and a plethora of other felonies. The list goes on and
on, but comparing the events that took place in Catch Me If You Can to what actually happened in real
life, the film made a numerous amount of mistakes in that aspect. They shot scenes that didn t
accurately show the details of his crimes but got the main idea. They do this to make the movie a lot
more appealing to the viewers. Which isn t a surprise, but knowing the true facts about this con man s
story is appealing enough. It is believed that Catch Me If You Can, as a whole, changed Frank s story

The Invisible Man By Ralph Ellison
Book Review: Invisible Man
Invisible Man is an American Literature novel published by Ralph Ellison in 1952. The novel traces
the experiences of a young college black man growing up in Harlem, New York. Attempting to
succeed in a predominantly white society, the narrator encounters shocks and disillusionments from
being expelled from college to hiding in an underground hole to protect himself from the people
above. He lives a repressed life as an Invisible Man for he believes that society ignores him and only
sees what they want to see. Early in the novel he says, I am invisible, understand, simply because
people refuse to see me. (Ellison 3). The narrator is simply seen as another black man and for that
people do not acknowledge him as an individual. He believes that people refuse to look beyond
themselves and see the man in front. The frustration over this ultimately consumes him and
contributes to his invisible identity.
The narrator begins the story by reminiscing about his invisible life. He recalls the time when he gives
a speech in high school, then is was asked to present it again for the town s white community leaders.
After being humiliated and treated like an animal at the battle royal he is awarded with a scholarship
to the state s black youth college. Through this situation, we learn that even though he is given the
opportunity of a good education, he is reminded that he is to remain in his place as a black man. It
doesn t matter how smart he is or

Nuclear Fission Lab Report
NUCLEAR FISSION
INTRODUCTION
Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassman, two German chemists discovered the process of nuclear fission on
17th December, 1938. However, it was theoretically explained later by two Austrian British physicists,
Lise Meitner and Otto Robert Frisch in the 1939. Nuclear fission is the process by which a heavy
nucleus disintegrates or decays into two lighter nuclei of slightly similar weights when they absorb
slow moving neutrons known as thermal neutrons. The nuclei undergoing disintegration is known as
the parent nuclei and the nuclei s formed after the decay are known as the daughter nuclei. Along with
the daughter nuclei very large amount of energy is also released and some gamma photons are also
released. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this explanation they assumed the nucleus of a heavy atom to be comparable to a spherical drop of
liquid. The spherical shape of the liquid drop is maintained due to surface tension of water and also
due columbic force of attraction. When a neutron is absorbed by the nuclei its energy is increased due
to increased oscillations, due to which there is change in the spherical shape of the water droplet to
ellipsoidal. if further there is increase in the oscillating energy, the columbic force of attraction
between the nucleons decreases so the shape becomes more irregular and becomes dumb bell. The
surface tension of water tends to make the water droplet to obtain its original shape which, finally,
takes place by breaking the water droplet into two smaller water droplets of almost comparable sizes.
Similarly, the nuclear fission process can be explained. The following diagram below shows various
steps in the liquid drop

Situated just below the Delaware River opposite Trenton, New Jersey the borough of Morrisville was
home to 8,668 residents in 2013 (United States Census Bureau). Drug and alcohol addiction problems
exist in Morrisville similar to other areas of the country. Recent data indicates heroin and alcohol are
the leading substances of abuse sending Pennsylvania residents into treatment. During 2014, over 37%
of all Pennsylvania drug rehab enrollments cited heroin as their primary substance of abuse, and over
23% cited alcohol as theirs.
Recovery from addiction comes in a number of different forms and uses a variety of methods. When
comparing inpatient vs. outpatient treatment programs the greatest difference is where the recovering
person resides. An inpatient program requires the client to reside in the facility full time during their
recovery whereas an outpatient program allows for more freedom. Outpatient rehab centers allow the
client to remain at home during their recovery and attend the facility during the day or evening. While
each type of program has advantages, determining which type of program will best meet the recovery
needs of the addict will require honesty when faced with the question; can the individual remain sober
when away from the facility? If they answer is no, then an inpatient, or even residential treatment
program is necessary to ensure the best chances of sobriety

to others, I myself should be a castaway. (1 Corinthians 9:27) The worst thing a leader can be in the
church is a hypocrite. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines hypocrite as a person who acts in a
way that goes against what he or she claims to believe or feel. Before I got married in 1999, I had a
lust problem. I was a fornicator. I was going to church every week; but I was bound by the spirit of
fornication and lust. I wore a holy mask in church, but outside of church, I was everything but holy. I
couldn t live right to save my life. I lived a defeated life of sin and shame. My desire to have sex
outweighed my desire to be free. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was not supposed to have sex until I got married; but I disobeyed God anyway. I allowed the devil to
convince me that disobeying God was not all that bad. I was convinced just like Eve was convinced. I
allowed lust to influence my decision to disobey God and it cost me! It cost me big time because I
knew better! I knew what the word of God says, but yet I chose to do my own thing. I was a hearer of
the word, but not a doer of the word. I knew the way of holiness, but I chose to walk contrary to the
word of God. This is what the bible says: For it had been better for them not to have known the way of
righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto
them. (2 Peter 2:21) It is a sad thing to know to do

Beetsme Case Study
The cooperation and competition amongst Beetsme and Titus started during Titus s younger years.
Beetsme killed Flossy s baby causing her and Cleo older sister of Titus to flee the pack the first
abandon the pack. The two silverbacks set out to form an all male gorilla pack for eight years and
discover five female gorillas. Beetsmy killed two more females infants and started to drive off the
males one by one which was known classic takeover method. Beetsme kept Titus around to help
defend the new pack from outsiders which was the cooperation between them. When Titus turned
eighteen he challenged Beetsmy over throwing him to take charge of the pack. As Titus became older
roughly thirty three years old Kuryama being Titus son was very young and strong which helped Titus
protect the pack. Lastly, after Titus failed to lead the pack off the mountain top, Kuryama took charge

Typically the silverback male that is in charge will be considered the dominant Alpha Gorilla and
would be the one that gets to spread their genetic code amongst all the females. Before, Titus became
into power in this rare case he had very good physical features and was able to mate with the females
behind Beetsme s back. 2) 3) I was well aware that poachers existed and killed animals. I knew of
poachers intentions to kill was for symbolism of hunting such as keeping their heads as a trophies and
to harvest rare parts such as rhinos horns to be resold for large amounts of money. I did learn from The
Titus movie that Gorillas were also poached for their heads and hands which is terrible issue that
should not be allowed period. Titus had both his Uncle Digits and his Dad Bert killed by poachers.
This influenced him to be more aware of his surroundings, became an orphan, team up with Beetsme
and form an all male pack. Poachers also influenced Titus to become more cautious and to not trust
any outsiders from coming near his

Traditional Health Care Costs In The United States
Health care costs in the US have been an area of significant concern over the last decade. In 2013 total
spending on health care was $2.9 trillion and consumed 42% of federal revenues. Despite the high
cost of care, America s health seems to pale in comparison to other developed countries. Blame is
often assigned to poor health policy, an aging and overweight population, and inefficient systems that
involve unnecessary testing and extended hospital stays. While all of these factors undoubtedly play a
role, perhaps it is the very foundations and methodologies of western medicine that are causing the
uncontrollable climb of health care costs.
Western medicine tends to take a biochemical approach to understanding and treating disease. This

Superbugs are multi drug resistant bacteria. These bacteria have evolved resistance to antibiotics over
decades. In response, scientists have simply improved and modified drugs to be stronger. However, as
development becomes more difficult we now are facing bacteria for which there are no available
treatments. The CDC estimates that antibiotic resistance has cost the United States $20 billion and
23,000 lives a year.
One of the largest superbug epidemics has been the bacterium c. difficile. In the last few years c.
difficile has been treated with amazing success, not with a new drug, but with fecal transplants. In
fecal transplants the fecal matter of a healthy individual is transplanted to a patient thus resetting their
healthy gut microbiome which had been taken over by the virulent c. difficile. This procedure
currently has a 90% success rate in patients whose infections did not resolve with multiple courses of

Correlation Between Hiv And The Prevalence Of Hiv

In the fourth study, based in Andhra Pradesh, India, Schneider et al. (2011) examined the association
of circumcision with the prevalence of HIV in men who have sex with men (MSM). The cross
sectional study sampled 387 Indian men from six drop in health centers, who were between the ages
of 18 49. Men were selected from the drop in centers, interviewed, given written informed consent and
were then tested for HIV. Of the men tested for HIV, 18.6% were positive. Interviews were completed
in order to get information about risk factors that could be associated with the prevalence of HIV in
this population, which was quite high. Of men selected for the study 63.1% were circumcised and

In the final study, Kibira, Nansubuga, Tumwesigye, Atuyambe, Makumbi (2014) explored the relation
of HIV prevalence and risky sexual behaviors among circumcised and uncircumcised men in Uganda.
In the study design, 9,524 male participants aged 15 59 years old were studied from data from the
Uganda AIDS Indicator Survey. This national survey was divided into a two stage stratum cluster
sampling that involved selecting households for interview (Kibira et al., 2014). During the interview
of each household, blood samples were collected for HIV status, circumcision status, and interview
questions that addressed risky sexual behaviors including: unprotected sex, numbers of partners, and
transactional sex (Kibira et al., 2014).
Based on the result, there s a direct correlation of circumcised males with lower HIV prevalence
among all age groups. HIV prevalence was 35 37% lower in the circumcised men, after controlling for
several variables (Kibira et al., 2014). The study showed risky sexual behaviors are also important
factors affecting the HIV prevalence on both circumcised and uncircumcised men. The riskiest
behavior practice in all men was unprotected sex, followed by multiple sexual partners, and
transactional sex. The practice of risky sexual behavior was found to be significantly higher in
circumcised men than in uncircumcised men. The research showed that although HIV prevalence has
shown to be significantly lower in circumcised

Battle Of Britain Analysis
Trench Kids
After evaluating the image called Battle of Britain, many could conclude that the children were
intrigued by what was going on around them while they were in the center of the war, and that each
child was innocent yet greatly affected by the aftermath of the war. All in all, this image portrays the
struggles the children faced trying to understand what was going on around them, living in a world
surrounded by war and violence, and how it affected the people who lived in Britain during this hard
time, especially the young children of Britain.
The first thing that pops out to people when looking at this image, is the position of the children. All
of the children are looking up at the sky. One young boy has his hands above his eyes trying ... Show

We can only imagine how hard it must be to be a young child during the time of war. Not only did
they have to deal with all of the fighting going on around them, but there was nothing they could do
about it. They could not help fight because they were too young, and they could not leave where the
fighting was happening because their parents were most likely involved in the war. They were placed
into a trench to keep them safe, but how safe could they really have been? They were in street clothes
and had no protection otherwise. I also found it neat that they were able to capture black and white
images during the war. The color of the picture can add an ominous feeling, the dark colors portray
how it was a dark time filled with many deaths and tragedies. This picture and other ones similar to it
provided good information on what it was like during that time in history. For example, how civilians
were in the middle of the fighting, what the trenches looked like, and what the children looked like.
Children today definitely do not look anything like the children back at this time, they are dressed
differently, and their overall appearance is

It is fairly easy; first you cut your photo paper into strips and place it under the Enlarger. The Enlarger
is the key element in any darkroom. Place negative in the native carrier with the emulsion side down
(shiny side down). A negative carrier is device designed to hold the negative in proper position in an
enlarger. (MiMi Photography, Negative carrier ). Open the slot on the enlarger for the negative carrier.
Slide it in and it should lock into place. Adjust enlarger head up or down to your desired position.
Place easel under the lens of the enlarger and adjust the projected image on easel. The easels function
is to hold your photo paper in place. Focus your image by using the focus knob until you see sharp
edges. Once your image is focused, you want to set it for 5 seconds and turn off you light. Then place
your test strip below your enlarger with the shiny side up.
Grab a cardboard to cover a portion of the test strip and press the start button on your timer. When the
light goes out, move the board an inch or two and press start button on the timer again. Repeat process
until you have exposed the strip with light. Once light has been projected on your photo paper you are

Fashion Change over the Decades
How the change in fashion over the decades has represents ones particular lifestyle Introduction
Fashion is a way of expressing one s self through clothing which could be influenced by a particular
era or group fighting for a cause or representing a certain groups with the same interests. This essay
aims to highlight how a group of people have a certain persona that can be so large that it will
influence the way they dress and their beliefs and lifestyle. This analysed over decades. In each
paragraph I am going to highlight how a specific group or event that occurred in the particular decade
influenced the fashion in America. My conclusion will basically prove my thesis. Fashion in the 1970
s The 1970s was the decade of the mods and the hippies. Men and women were wearing tight pants
and bell bottoms were also huge in the 70 s. At times it was difficult to make a clear distinction of
what was seen appropriate for home and what was seen appropriate for a night out. Women were seen
pairing low cut pants with high cut boots, ....this was probably also the first full decade in which
women could be seen wearing pants in every walk of life. retro waste. Available from:
www.retrowaste.com/1970s/fashion in the 1970s/ . (Accessed 14 April 2014 ) There are a couple of
hippie groups from the 70 s that decided to do things a little out of the norm like Queen who had
bisexual member in his band and at those times it was seen as an abomination to be into people of the
same sex.

Ancient Greek Food
Ancient Greek Food Imagine yourself in a room with one of best cooks in all of Ancient Greece, you
are watching him put in Bechamel Sauce, the Kalamata Olives, and Feta Cheese, you breathe in and
smell the dish as it comes together. Then he pours in the best red wine in all of Ancient Greece, and
lets his creation sit for forty five minutes. Now it is your turn to try the masterpiece. You feel as if
your mouth has exploded with the best flavors you have ever tried. Soteriades the Sage was one of the
most famous cooks in Ancient Greece. Legends say he served many kings and always had a new dish
for each type of person he served, including the elderly, lovers, and philosophers. This is proven in my
source Greekalicious a historical cookbook written by Maria Bernardis; Who (Soteriades the Sage)
claimed he prepared different dishes for different moods and ages. The Ancient Greeks had very
similar culinary techniques as the modern day Greeks. The Greeks valued a variety of foods and plants
and incorporated them in preparing some of their finest dishes, many that are still prepared and eaten
today.
Bread and wine were some of the most important ingredients to the Ancient Greeks. They ate bread
with almost every meal. The Ancient Greeks most common breakfast was bread dipped in red wine
with fruit. They also occasionally ate bread with lunch and dinner and often had it as a midnight
snack. To support this, the Ancient Greeks drank wine with their breakfasts.

Plate Tectonics And Its Effects On The World
Maybe the most ideal approach to see how Pinnacles started is to envision that you are viewing a
video shot somewhere in the range of 60 million years prior completion at the present time. Not
wishing to see something that is milleniums long, you accelerate the activity by keeping your finger
on the quick forward catch. Regardless. At last regardless you know the story all around ok to rehash
it.
Plate Tectonics
At the point when the video starts, the mainlands have the structure we know today; the vast majority
of the world s extraordinary mountain reaches are set up, and the Pacific Ocean is so far inland that a
large portion of California s beach front mountains don t exist. Yet, they are going to be conceived on
account of something many refer to as plate tectonics.
Geologists trust that the world s hull is isolated into huge plates that fit together like the bits of a
mammoth jigsaw riddle. These plates are thought to move persistently, for the most part on a level
plane. As per geologic hypothesis, the plates meet in no less than three ways, and two of these are
imperative to our story: subduction zones (where one plate moves underneath the other), and change
limits (where the two plates grind past each other). At some point around sixty million years prior,
when our video starts, the lighter weight North American Plate started abrogating or subducting the
denser Farallon plate, and as it did, its external edge went about as a bulldozer, gathering up

authors debated whether or not teens should be allowed to have blogs. On the negative side of the
argument, author John Smith, argued that teens should not be allowed to have blogs. By providing
strong rebuttals to the counterarguments and using a clear, convincing tone, Smith provides the
stronger side of the argument. Initially, Smith provides powerful rebuttals to the counterarguments.
Towards the end of his argument, Smith does mention the other side in saying that Blogging is a new

The Need Of Quality Medical Care
1. The united States of America is need of quality medical care, a way to provide necessary service is
to increase the number of quality professionals. The changing market is in need of professionals who
are both knowledgeable and talented enough to deliver care to the underserved community of this
great country. Saint Francis University, is addressing this need by providing education to qualified
students to enable them to become future leaders. Saint Francis s addresses this national shortage by
advancing students problem solving skills and clinical knowledge, all the while maintaining a focus on
serving the community. My core values include servant leadership which means in everything I want
to do I want to be serving those around me. I have come to the conclusion, the only way to serve the
community in the fullest capacity is to first become educated on the needs of the community. To gain
understanding of what is required to serve this world, I took time volunteering in a nursing home as
therapy aide and working at podiatrist office. Although these experiences can be limiting, the
information gained in serving people is invaluable. Working with people to meet basic needs has
shown me the importance of humbly approaching all scenarios and patients. I realize our personal
growth should never slow down and we should never stop learning. I have been gifted with the ability

Introduction. Toronto, Including The Greater Toronto Area,
Introduction
Toronto, including the Greater Toronto Area, is a multicultural and urban Canadian city with a current
population of 5,406,324 (Monga Bay, n.d.). In 1985, Canada had an estimated population 3,356,000
and an estimated population of 4,925,000 people in 2005 (Monga Bay, n.d.). The fluctuation in
population reflects a simple change in number over time and that change can cause an alteration of
societal values, striving to change the criminal justice system.
Youth probation officers have a role in the criminal justice system to supervise young offenders to

Similarly, the perspectives of the youth probation officers in Toronto may differ from youth probation
officers from other cities in Ontario, along with other provinces and territories. In addition, another
limitation of this paper is that the answers given by the youth probation officers were done within the
past five years, during the Youth Criminal Justice Act. However, the act was implemented in 2003,
with many officers who started their work prior to the enactment, which may cause a variation of their
values in youth justice. To counter this complication, the interviews will provide insight on challenges
the youth probation officers in the city have faced progressively.
Young Offenders Act
Criminal justice systems, along with the accompanying policies, are continuously changing and
moving towards modernity (Brabazon, 2017). There is a change in value judgement when modernity
is applied to society. The movement towards modernity and the shift in value judgment makes a
criminal justice system supposedly morally superior with the combination of human rights (Brabazon,
2017).
As previously mentioned, from 1984 to 2003, Canada used the Young Offenders Act as the legislation
for the youth criminal justice system (Umamaheswar, 2013, p. 1163). The Young Offenders Act
replaced the Juvenile Delinquents Act and preceded the Youth Criminal Justice Act that Canada
currently uses (Umamaheswar, 2013, p. 1163). The Young

The Film For Best Sound Editing Is Directed By Kathryn...
Zero Dark Thirty Zero Dark Thirty is the controversial 2012 film of the decade long hunt for the al
Qaeda terrorist leader, Osama bin Laden following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The
film follows Maya, a CIA operative whose field assignment is to interrogate prisoners in order to find
the whereabouts of al Qaeda s leader. She is initially hesitant about using enhanced interrogation
techniques in order to retrieve intel from prisoners but later encourages those same torture techniques.
For several years, she is single minded in her pursuit of leads to uncover the location of bin Laden.
Finally in 2011, her work pays off and the U.S. SEAL Team Six is sent to either kill or capture him. In
Zero Dark Thirty, the director, Katherine Bigelow, used pathos and the screenwriter, Mark Boal used
pathos throughout the whole film to capture and maintain the audience s interest.
The Academy Award winning film for Best Sound Editing was directed by Kathryn Bigelow and
written by Mark Boal (Oscars). Although directors and screenwriters work unanimously to create
movies, the primary author of Zero Dark Thirty was Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty). This is due
to the fact that little to none of the characters had fully developed backgrounds and their dialogue did
nothing to improve that. Bigelow herself stated that she wanted a boots on the ground experience, and
she delivered (Ellis). The audience got a straightforward feel of what it was like to be a part of the
hunt.

Reflection Paper On Court Hearing
This reflection paper is over my fifth week at my practicum site. This week I was in the office on
Monday and Tuesday. This week I was able to attend a court hearing and I wrote up my visitation log
from the visit that happened last week.
There are a lot of things that has to happen when the Department of Children and Family Services
(DCFS) take protective custody (PC) of a child. After DCFS has taken PC over a child or children
they have to have court within 2 days. The court date is considered the first court hearing. The
perpetrator is encouraged to come and they have been appointed and attorney. The attorney will be
there to represent their client at this first initial court hearing.
The first court hearing consists of many different things. The first thing that happen is the investigator
is called to the stand and asked questions about what happened during the investigation that were
significant enough to take PC. This is a precaution step to make sure the kids were removed for a
legitimate reason. At this point the judge can sign off on the order of PC or return the kids home to the
perpetrator. The investigator explained this process to me prior to going into the courtroom and she
said the judge never sends the kids back home. The perpetrator can be called to the stand but most of
the time they are not. The next thing that is put in place is a permanency order for the child. The
permanency order is put in place for temporary housing. The last thing that is filed

Interlopers And The Most Dangerous Game Comparison Essay The Interlopers and The Most Dangerous Game: Comparing In this essay the two masterful short stories, The Interlopers and The Most Dangerous Game, The powerful messages create interesting elements in both stories, in both equal and opposite ways, the further you get into it, it gives a deeper understanding to the tangentially layered meanings they posses. The underlying themes of the stories are while less forthright, are still valid contrasts between the works. In some portions the themes are of the same facet such as how in both books two men have a direct conflict between one another, but in the end the most prominent themes are; Man vs. Nature in The Interlopers, as in the end even as man has petty struggles amongst his kind, nature dictates his end, and Man vs. Himself in The Most Dangerous Game, as the life or death conflict between the two hunters throws the story like a ragdoll. • 5. Carl Sandburg and How He was Influenced by Walt Whitman... Carl Sandburg and How He was Influenced by Walt Whitman Carl Sandburg and Walt Whitman had very similar lives. They both came from working class families and neither one of them went to high school or graduated college. They learned from watching people and by reading books on their own. They both had a certain sense for the world that made them able to see what was going on around them and grasp its significance. Although Whitman was born sixty years before Sandburg there were still a lot of the same things happening in America and they both picked up on one important factor of the time, that of the average working class man. Come! Some of you! Still be flooding The States with hundreds and thousands of mouth songs, fit for The States only. From this poem one can feel the compassion that Whitman has for the common American workingman. He has much respect for him and believes that he is what makes up America and what causes America to keep on moving. He portrays the workers to all be singing to emphasize that they are proud of the work that they do. Whitman and Sandburg both enjoy going through and naming each of the workers separately in order to display the vast number of people who fall into the working class. In the poem above you can see how Whitman talks about how the different workers enjoy their jobs and are happy with the talents that they have in their specialized positions. The last line of part 1 demonstrates how the workers leave their work and are able to relax and enjoy their lives at night when the work day is over. Theories Of Motivation Theories Motivation in leadership through Achievement Motivation Theory MM3151 Managerial Leadership Introduction Motivation is the willingness to exert high levels of effort towards a goal, provided the effort made also satisfied some individual need. (Keenan K., 1995, e.g. 60) Everyone at least once asked themselves: What I am doing now? , Where will it bring me? , How can it help me to reach my target? . • 7. The Colonialism And Historiography Of The Colonial Revival The Colonial Revival is a phenomenon that materialized as a national expression of American culture from the 1870s to its peak between 1880 and 1940. The Colonial Revival was more about ideology but most often manifested itself through decorative arts and architecture. Elements of pseudo colonial furniture, arts and architecture symbolically served as tools to promote the republican ideas of democracy, patriotism and moral superiority. In many ways the Colonial Revival was a direct reaction to the side effects of Industrialization and progress. Ironically many times participants of the revival used modern techniques as a means to accomplish their singular goal. Historian Alan Axelrod argues, Colonialism is not a surface phenomenon, a thin verneer over the real body of American life, but a network of communications and linkages that reach deep into American experience and behavior. Historians examine the movement from various perspectives; the Colonial Revival as a social and cultural movement, its representation in U.S. material culture, and its significance to immigration and nationalism. Scholarship includes everything from Alan Axelrod s The Colonial Revival in America from 1985 to Briann G. Greenfield s Out of the Attic: Antiques in Twentieth Century New England from 2009. • 10. The Problem Of Addiction And Addiction This ted talk was phenomenal it made me really think of how we react to addicts, addiction issues, and related topics. Johann Hari, did a great job of explaining the current methods of handling addiction from many perspectives, such as political and societal. His journey within his own family took him all over the world to find the answers he wanted to know for himself and I think this was an inspiring investigation. I believe it is important to investigate as much as possible when you are looking for a new solution to any issue. He explained that much of what we think we know about addiction is wrong and gave many examples of why it is incorrect (Hari, 2015). One specific example that he discussed was if the audience all did heroin for 3 weeks what would we as a society predict would happen next (e.g. addiction/chemical hooks leading to dependence/physical need). It is clear the common assumption would be that they would become addicts after those 3 weeks. He then went on to say what if he got hit by a car and was given Diamorphine, which is a stronger form of heroin. He would have to use it over a period of time and would become addicted. Again, we would think that he would become an addict form this strong medication because as a society this is the common belief of how the addiction process works. Another example he used was if your grandmother had a hip replacement and was given medication for it. She would not become an addict, which in my case this did happen and ... I believe the movie glamorized Frank s crimes and made them a little bit better than they actually were, of course you can expect this from Hollywood. Frank Abagnale Jr. made a lot of mistakes as a teenager. He was trying to make a life for himself out in the real world and be able to make money. Frank was determined too, he could think of amazing ways to make a buck. Which eventually led him to posing as a teacher, doctor, pilot on a commercial airline, CIA agent, and a lawyer. He also committed many different kinds of crimes including cashing fake checks at hundreds of different banks all across the world, printing fake checks, unlawfully obtaining private information and a plethora of other felonies. The list goes on and on, but comparing the events that took place in Catch Me If You Can to what actually happened in real life, the film made a numerous amount of mistakes in that aspect. They shot scenes that didn t accurately show the details of his crimes but got the main idea. They do this to make the movie a lot more appealing to the viewers. Which isn t a surprise, but knowing the true facts about this con man s story is appealing enough. • 19. The Invisible Man By Ralph Ellison Book Review: Invisible Man Invisible Man is an American Literature novel published by Ralph Ellison in 1952. The novel traces the experiences of a young college black man growing up in Harlem, New York. Attempting to succeed in a predominantly white society, the narrator encounters shocks and disillusionments from being expelled from college to hiding in an underground hole to protect himself from the people above. He lives a repressed life as an Invisible Man for he believes that society ignores him and only sees what they want to see. Early in the novel he says, I am invisible, understand, simply because people refuse to see me. (Ellison 3). The narrator is simply seen as another black man and for that people do not acknowledge him as an individual. He believes that people refuse to look beyond themselves and see the man in front. The frustration over this ultimately consumes him and contributes to his invisible identity. The narrator begins the story by reminiscing about his invisible life. He recalls the time when he gives a speech in high school, then is was asked to present it again for the town s white community leaders. After being humiliated and treated like an animal at the battle royal he is awarded with a scholarship to the state s black youth college. Through this situation, we learn that even though he is given the opportunity of a good education, he is reminded that he is to remain in his place as a black man. However, it was theoretically explained later by two Austrian British physicists, Lise Meitner and Otto Robert Frisch in the 1939. Nuclear fission is the process by which a heavy nucleus disintegrates or decays into two lighter nuclei of slightly similar weights when they absorb slow moving neutrons known as thermal neutrons. The nuclei undergoing disintegration is known as the parent nuclei and the nuclei s formed after the decay are known as the daughter nuclei. Along with the daughter nuclei very large amount of energy is also released and some gamma photons are also released. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this explanation they assumed the nucleus of a heavy atom to be comparable to a spherical drop of liquid. The spherical shape of the liquid drop is maintained due to surface tension of water and also due columbic force of attraction. When a neutron is absorbed by the nuclei its energy is increased due to increased oscillations, due to which there is change in the spherical shape of the water droplet to ellipsoidal. if further there is increase in the oscillating energy, the columbic force of attraction between the nucleons decreases so the shape becomes more irregular and becomes dumb bell. The surface tension of water tends to make the water droplet to obtain its original shape which, finally, takes place by breaking the water droplet into two smaller water droplets of almost comparable sizes. Similarly, the nuclear fission process can be explained. The following diagram below shows various steps in the liquid drop ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recent data indicates heroin and alcohol are the leading substances of abuse sending Pennsylvania residents into treatment. During 2014, over 37% of all Pennsylvania drug rehab enrollments cited heroin as their primary substance of abuse, and over 23% cited alcohol as theirs. Recovery from addiction comes in a number of different forms and uses a variety of methods. When comparing inpatient vs. outpatient treatment programs the greatest difference is where the recovering person resides. An inpatient program requires the client to reside in the facility full time during their recovery whereas an outpatient program allows for more freedom. Outpatient rehab centers allow the client to remain at home during their recovery and attend the facility during the day or evening. While each type of program has advantages, determining which type of program will best meet the recovery needs of the addict will require honesty when faced with the question; can the individual remain sober when away from the facility? Plate Tectonics And Its Effects On The World Maybe the most ideal approach to see how Pinnacles started is to envision that you are viewing a video shot somewhere in the range of 60 million years prior completion at the present time. Not wishing to see something that is milleniums long, you accelerate the activity by keeping your finger on the quick forward catch. Regardless. At last regardless you know the story all around ok to rehash it. Plate Tectonics At the point when the video starts, the mainlands have the structure we know today; the vast majority of the world s extraordinary mountain reaches are set up, and the Pacific Ocean is so far inland that a large portion of California s beach front mountains don t exist. Yet, they are going to be conceived on account of something many refer to as plate tectonics. Geologists trust that the world s hull is isolated into huge plates that fit together like the bits of a mammoth jigsaw riddle. These plates are thought to move persistently, for the most part on a level plane. As per geologic hypothesis, the plates meet in no less than three ways, and two of these are imperative to our story: subduction zones (where one plate moves underneath the other), and change limits (where the two plates grind past each other).
