Essay For Internship
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay for Internship" can prove to be a challenging
endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in the need to showcase one's qualifications and aspirations
effectively but also in striking a delicate balance between self-promotion and humility.
Firstly, there's the task of articulating personal experiences and achievements in a way that
highlights their relevance to the internship in question. It's not just about listing
accomplishments; rather, it requires weaving a narrative that illustrates your skills, competencies,
and how they align with the internship's requirements.
Additionally, addressing the prompt while avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements adds
another layer of complexity. A successful essay should stand out, offering unique insights into
your character and demonstrating a genuine passion for the field. This requires thoughtful
reflection and the ability to communicate one's motivations clearly.
Furthermore, achieving the right tone can be a hurdle. The essay should be professional yet
personable, conveying a sense of enthusiasm without sounding overly casual. Striking this
balance is crucial to leave a positive and memorable impression on the reader.
Navigating the challenge of conciseness is yet another aspect. Given the typically limited word
count for internship essays, condensing information while maintaining its impact requires careful
consideration of each word and sentence.
In conclusion, writing an essay for an internship demands a skillful blend of self-expression,
persuasion, and conciseness. It necessitates a deep understanding of one's own experiences and
how they align with the internship's objectives. While challenging, a well-crafted essay can
significantly enhance your chances of securing the desired internship opportunity.
If crafting such essays proves to be daunting, there are resources available. For assistance in

African Influence In Latin Music
Latin Music is a form of art; it is a way of expression, and the liberty to express
happiness, depression, heartache, lust, and/or fame. Latin music is derived from
Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. Most of the Salsa music has a lot of
African influence with many rhythms. The African influencen Latin musiccould be
the single most important element in Latin music history. Samba, Salsa, Merengue,
Bachata, and Timba are all strongly influenced by African Culture. Latin Pop and
Rock en EspaГ±ol have been shaped by the foreign sounds of Rock, Alternative and
Pop music. This paper will elaborate and explain how Salsa is a melting pot for Latin
Culture
The great migration of Puerto Ricans to New York City in the 1940s influenced the
birth of Salsa. Harvest Of Empire written by Juan Rodriguez shows how the migration
of Puerto Ricans to the United States had a great influence on music and culture
developed at that time. Puerto Ricans would be known as NewYorkRicans and Salsa
would later become their identity. Identity is not a thing but a process Dancing Salsa

In songs they could express they emotions, their distress, problems from their past.
For many Latinos, the cultural and political value of salsa dance, with regard to the
construction and performance of identity, is often made tangible (consciously and/or
unconsciously) through movement in connection to music, both individually and
collectively. Salsa unites many cultures, one main reason why it does so is that,
despite the cultural history that each country may have, Salsa dance and music are
often represented as apolitical and ahistorical.
The Prince By Niccolo Machiavelli
When talking about leadership as a whole, a true leader sees his work as a self less
service towards a higher purpose. And to be more specific with a political leader,
being knowledgeable about how to build and use a strong military, how to support
the people, and how to take action immediately when needed. And I remember the
lecture in class where our instructor told us about how leadershipis not power and
power can make someone treat people like items instead of human beings. This
reading was an extraordinary guide to how leaders make decisions maneuver at just
about any capacity in their principality. The Princeby: Niccolo Machiavelli really
tries and is successful at dividing politics and ethics to decipher the characteristics
of a good and bad political/government ruling leader in this novel. In this reading, I
seen 5 points that Machiavelli talked about, and those were: Free Will, Being
Hated vs Goodwill, Virtue, A Good Military, and finally Human Nature. These are
a necessity to the recipe that Machiavelli is making in this book. In the first few
chapters of the book, Machiavelli begins to talk about principalities and the diverse
forms to set the base for the novel. The general definition of a principality is a local
territory that is initially ruled by a prince. And also composite principalities, which
are principalities that are newly created or annexed from another power. And in the
book Machiavelli discusses how some principalities are inherited from previous

1. Draw a process flow diagram of the post triage system. Compare waiting times for
the pre triage and the post triage systems. Is the new system an improvement over the
old?
See Flow Chart attached.
No, it did not improve the process. The new triage did not meet the intended goals of
off loading patients to NPs and the overall throughput time did not change.
2. Analyze the available MD and NP capacity. How effective is the clinic in matching
supply and demand?

How cost effective is this considering the different service rates of MDs and NPs?
(Assume NPs work 47 weeks per year.)
Salary for MD: $35 55K; salary for NP: $ 16 26K. We will use the midpoint salary of
each for illustrative purposes.
Table 2
Service Rate Example

$10.10/1.8=$5.61
The NP cost per patient is 80% of that of an MD ($5.61/$6.98 = 80%), but their visit
volume per hour is 58% of the physician (1.8/3.1 = 58%).
Based upon service rates above, it is more cost effective for the physicians to see the
patients.
If patients were truly offloaded to NP s by the triage system it would be cost
effective based upon the service rate. But this did not happen. In fact, the percent of
patients seen by NPs decreased from 40% to 28%, and the percent patients seen by
MDs increased from 41% to 48% (excluding patients that requested a particular
provider).
5. What actions would you recommend to Ms. Angell?
a. Eliminate walk in appointments to relieve an obvious bottleneck.
b.Reassign the number of exam rooms to better optimize utilization and fulfill
demand; MD cycle time is 19.4 minutes and NP cycle time is 32.8 minutes.
Redirecting exam rooms to MD s would also reduce the wait time for next available
appointment thus improving patient satisfaction with wait time. For example,

Orange Is the New Black is a Netflix series based off of Pieper Kerman s memoir,
Orange is The New Black: My Year in a Women s Prison. The show revolves
around Piper, a woman from New York who is sentenced to 15 months in prison in

Analysis Of Bermudas By Andrew Marvell
The poem Bermudas is written by Andrew Marvell in seventeenth century
celebrating the establishment of a new colony in the island called Bermuda. This
poem is inspired Marvell wrote the poem in couplets of rhyming iambic tetrameter.
Marvell structured the poem as a song of praise, sung by the group of English
colonists as they arrive to the islands by boat. The sonnet starts with the storyteller
presenting the scene on the sea off the remote Bermudas , where a gathering of
English settlers in a small boat are singing. Marvell compares the Bermudaislands to
a bigger watercraft, as they ride in the ocean s chest unespied. He quickly exhibits
the parallel picture of the pilgrims in their own small boat and strikes a tone of
harmony... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a poet, he began writing at a young age though his initial poems that were
published. while he was still in college, were in Greek and Latin. It is ironical that
much of his sarcastic political satires were not published during his lifetime, and he
became recognized as a major poet only after his death. The life of this enigmatic
poet has always fascinated historians due to the scarcity of information about his
personal life.
Nature and the title of the poem:
As we see the title of the very poetry we can easily understand it is chosen with the
context. Bermuda is an island located in the Atlantic ocean. As it is written at the title
about an island it is so obvious that natural details would be there. And so the poet
deals with the matter so effectively.
Textual reference of natural details:
That led us through the watery maze The oceans around the Bermuda island are
stormy and hazardous to explore. The natural obstacle face by the people who
wanted to come there is expressed by the beautiful phrase watery maze. Going
through the maze is very difficult and creates anxiety. After reaching destination
through this path relief comes in mind and the joy cannot be explained in words.
Comparing to that situation after the hazardous, fearful way through the rough ocean
the pilgrims of England were so happy to find the island and praising god for leading
them to this bountiful land.

Sacagawea was born in what is now Idaho in 1789 or 1790. She was a Shoshone
Indian, also known as the Snake Indians. As a child, like many young Indians, she
had many names. She became known as Sacagawea which means Bird Woman.
She had two brothers and a sister. Her family lived in a tipi along the Bitterroot
Range of the Rocky Mountains. In the summer months the Shoshone camped along
streams where they fished for Salmon and Trout. In the fall the tribe headed east to
the present day Montana. The men hunted buffalo using bows and arrow, and the
women sewed clothes for the tribe using deer skins and buffalo hides. Since the
Shoshone did not have schools, Sacagawea learned by working beside the women of
her tribe. She collected wood for fires,
The Relationship Between Perfectionism And Maladaptive...
Introduction
The relationship between Perfectionism, Procrastination and Academic Performance
As said by (Brown, Elissa J; Heimberg, Richard G; Frost, Randy O; Makris,
Gregory S et al, 1999), Perfectionism has been defined as a dispositional tendency to
set excessively high performance standards and to then evaluate one s performance in
an overly critical manner. . This investigation looks at two types of perfectionism
Adaptive, and Maladaptive Perfectionism. Adaptive perfectionism is the inclination
to set higher standards, participate in study more often, achieve better grades, and
emphasize more focus on academic importance in their life. Maladaptive
Perfectionism is also a predictor for studying more often, however research has found
evidence that it has been linked with higher anxiety, perceived difficulty and no
increase in grades (Brown et al., 1999). These two types of perfectionism are
measured using 3 of the 6 subscales of Frost et al., (1990) s Multidimensional
Perfectionism Scale(MPS). A study looked at perfectionism, behaviour, cognition
and affect in a women s private liberal arts college gave participants a small range
of questionnaires over 6 times in the semester and looked at final grades to see if
there was a significant correlation between any of the variables. They found an
association between CM perfectionism and anxiety about performance and being
overly critical of mistakes. CM was not associated with better grades, and the
research concluded it

Well organized structure provides business employees with opportunities and how to
improve their skills. First of all, the multidivisional operation needs to provide
overall operations appropriate in a SOA structure. Because, there is no guarantee that
SOA will fit to company s existing package. The managers, especially CIO is in the
best position to involve and communicate with employees. The CIO must hire senior
management who can communicate with IT employees and educate them. IT
organizational structures must be centralized, understandable and moderate.
Outline a project selection process for AgCredit to ensure alignment with the
enterprise business vision.
Organizations should be careful and select the projects they decide to continue
from between many opportunities. Apparently, there is no simple decision. The
consequences of poor process and decision could be expensive and irrecoverable.
A number of useful projects are existing to managers liable for measuring possible
business needs. AgCredit s CIO must know that his job is getting harder and must
also connect with people at all levels of the organization. New enterprise ideas must
be delivered quickly and directly connected to measures of business development. All
of these developments provide an idea of how the business people and business
process work each other and provide more understandable process which would make
business process more vigorous and useful.

The Crucible Theme Analysis
The Crucible is a play with an abundance of themes. Each of the characters have a
theme that contributes to the overall theme of the story as well. The Crucible shows
unjust decisions controlled by manipulated courts and envious girls. The court
officials put 200 people through the misery of being accused of practicing acts
associated with the devil, and they executed 20. The theme that comes to mind after
these actions are brought up is inequity. Abigail accused many people in the town of
Salemof actions that they did not do. She made the marriage of John and Elizabeth
Proctorunstable by still trying to steal John from Elizabeth even though John was
trying to regain the trust of his wife. Another theme that is present is that
reputations can be altered easily. Going back to the Abigail and John incident,
John s reputation was brought down when the court found out that he cheated on
his wife. Another example of how reputations are judged in this play is when John
didn t want his name posted on the church door. His name would have been
frowned upon since it would have been on the list of people who practiced
witchcraft, and he knew people would think less of him (62). Abigail also fed false
accusations about well respected people in the town of Salem. Abigail had told the
court that Elizabeth Proctor had been practicing the devil s work, and Elizabeth then
got taken away even though she hadn t had done anything (37). A good reputation
can be easily faltered, and it is a
The Male Character In Steven Millhauser s Miracle Polish
Out of the three short stories I ve read so far, by far the character that stands out
the most to me is the male character in Steven Millhauser s Miracle Polish. From
the onset of the story, Millhauser does an excellent job of creating a strong
perception of this character, highlighting his insecurities, and flaws. The author s
ability to establish a meek and somewhat awkward personality to this character
really intrigued me and made me want to learn what made him the person he
became. With his nuanced use of dialogue, Millhauser added another layer to this
character. We begin to formulate a persona of this character that is not only meek
and timid in his physical appearance, but also in the way he speaks and interacts like

Argumentative Essay On Companion Animals
Companion animals have not always been considered beneficial to the human
existence. In pasted centuries companion animals were consider objects with little
value. For example, Martha C. Armstrong stated that, pound dogs stood little chance
of escaping their destiny: death by starvation, injury, gassing, or drowning. This
illustrated how animals that were captured did not have any rights and could be
disposed of in any way. These animalcompanions were considered replaceable unless
they were used as livestock and only if they would create a source of income for the
animal guardian. The documentary illustrated how instead of euthanizing the animals
the animal shelter began incorporating other means of helping the animal companion
become more adoptable. It illustrated how placing the... Show more content on

In addition, being able to watch how a shy and non cooperative animal can develop
the capability to learn and follow complex directions in six weeks demonstrated that
with proper training any animal can become the perfect animal companion.
Therefore, I believe that all the animals that are turned in to the animal shelters are
there because their guardian lack the resources or are unwilling to take the time to
properly train them. As Rollin and Rollin stated, most pet owners know very little
about their animals...people wishing to acquire an animal should at least be
compelled to demonstrate that they know what they are getting into (508). I believe
that everyone who adopts an animal companion should have some training regarding
what the companion animal requires. The training should consist of how to teach
them basic manners such as not jumping on people or chewing on items. Having this
basic knowledge would help all those animals who are turned in because according to
many of their guardians these animal companions are to

I would like to preface this report by mentioning that this interview went nothing
like I expected. At 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 21st I walked into the office of Brad
Hults, the owner and founder of Jefferson Midstate Auto Auction (JMAA). Every
Tuesday used car dealers from all over the Midwest come to JMAA looking to buy
and sell used cars. My dad, an auto dealer himself, currently works there on sale
days (Tuesdays) and it just so happens that my father has connections with Brad. I
am lucky enough to have an inside scoop on the business I actually worked there on

Because he (supposedly) has said energy, anyone who walks into his office, works

working here a year and a half ago. [I ve] become more self aware and those
coincidences seem to happen more often. That is the universe bringing things to

way. After the interview, I had more questions than answers, and I had not even
gotten the chance to ask him about his actual business. I also really was not sure if
he was a pure genius or if I needed to check him into a mental hospital. Probably both.
After some analysis, I realized his opportunity identification process focused less
on if it was feasible, but more on if he desired to do it. If he desired to something,
the universe would bring everything he needed to him. Basically, the universe
would take care of the feasibility part. I partly agree with Brad and definitely think
that following your desires is a worthy goal. Just like the author of Monk and the

Minnesota Wind Power
Our city is Lincoln county, Minnesota we decided to use wind power because the
average wind speed is around 21 mph. To spin an average wind turbine you need
winds of 8.7 or more miles per hour. Minnesota could really benefit from wind

that s polluting our earth. Some advantages of using wind powerare wind does not
pollute the earth, It s an abundant energy source so it will never run out. In
Minnesota, there is a small population of 5 million and in California it s 38 million,

It has to be AT LEAST 8.7mph to turn a wind turbine

wind power is shadow flicker it is when the blades of the wind turbine cause a

Finally, the sound of wind turbines they are not silent for the people that live near the
wind farms would get unwanted noise in their houses content during the day and at

Wind turbines are a great way of conserving energy, there are some disadvantages to
it though, but here are some solutions to those disadvantages. A solution to the
problem of the loud sound of the wind turbines is that people who live in that area
could get sound proofed walls. Even though it is expensive though soundproofing is

Divorce Is Not A New Nor A Fading Trend
Divorce is not a new nor a fading trend. Since the time of Moses and through the
centuries divorce has been a topic of discussion and something sought after by those
in an unhappy marriage. Divorce has always been around, but not nearly as much as
the last century. In America data has recorded the divorce rate since the mid 880s.
The data acquired over the years concludes that divorcewent from being a social
taboo to a trend among friends, effecting the social views on divorce itself, marriage,
and children. In the beginning of the 20th century divorce was still a tabooed
subject. As America hasdeveloped over the first half of the century it begged for
divorce, but this was not so easily achieved in a respectable society (Friedman,
2004, p. 151). This resulted into collusion and migratory divorce, often people
would claim false abuse from their spouse to gain grounds for a divorce (p. 152).
Divorce laws did not change until 1970 when the silent revolution began with the
passing of a new no fault divorce laws and the abolishment of the dual system (p.
154). Quickly and quietly without debate these new divorce laws were published
and passed allowing both men and women to file for divorce without any reason or
grounds for a divorce (p. 155). Property rights and children are now the most difficult
part of the divorce. The no fault laws made divorce quick and cheap, especially if the
marriage was short and no children are involved (p. 156). These new laws made

Why You Should Optimize Your Website
This research study from other credible authors have stated the purpose, or
reasons, of responsive design whether it be from a mobile or tablet devices.
Responsive design isn t about just getting the right information at a faster rate of
time, but to ensure the user experience is effective and concise. When people hear
the word mobile web, it is absolutely being well understood of what it means.
Mobile web refers to where people are accessing through the Internet on their
mobile devices and accessing information to whatever users are searching (Mckee,
2014). According to the article, Why You Should Optimize Your Website by
Suzanne McKee, tells readers like us that there are about 77% of people who have
mobile devices (Mckee, 2014). This leads to a very well define conclusion, if you
will, that mobile users are looking for information about a company s product
using their mobile devices regardless if it s smartphones or tablets. As more users
are getting into their mobile devices, responsive web design has its own future too
when it comes to user experience. Additionally, responsive design is becoming
more emerging into the world. Mobile users use their devices in three common
ways to search, to directly navigate to a destination website, send a link to
themselves via email so they can visit it later (Savitz, 2012). This is the reason why
responsive design is becoming more popular and is ascending into its trends.
Responsive web design is flexible and it takes full

might, or a political feud? Word Count: 1544 Part I: Introduction The 1180 through
1185 Gempei War between the Japanese Taira and Minamoto clans is often pointed
to as an example of the Japanese warrior ethic. The Heike Monogatari traditionally
would argue that this is true, however, the reality of the 12th century conflict paints
a much different story. Analysis of the war shows that the deciding factors of the
war were not necessarily the military strength of the Minamoto, but instead it was a
brilliant and lucky political chess game played by Minamoto Yoritomo. Yoritomo
was able to develop strategic alliances with local lords across eastern Japan and

The Imperial Court neglected the many communities and prefectures that make up
Japan. This led to many local lords taking matters into their own hands, and
establishing virtually autonomous kingdoms each fighting each other for power.
When the Gempei War broke out in 1180 Yoritomo pounced on the opportunity to
gain overwhelming support. With the establishment of the Kamakura Shogunate,
Yoritomo designed a system that would allocate authority to local military leaders
that would, in turn, remain loyal to the Shogun. During the Gempei War, Yoritomo
offered these positions to military lords across eastern Japan. With this strategy,
Yoritomo was able to amass a force that outnumbered that of the Taira. This quote
addresses the importance of this fact, the war s larger significance lay in Yoritomo s
rechanneling of hostility among provincial warriors. By promising them land and
jobs when he won, Yoritomo assured the loyalty of warriors who wanted to topple
their regional rivals, (Selinger,4). Had Yoritomo not appealed to these lords, the Taira
would have been able to crush his
Essay On Point Of Sales
Leveraging Points of Sale and Profit Making for Fundraising Success POS Point of
sale is the term commonly associated with the retail industry and involves the place
of transaction between a buyer and a seller. (Kelley, p. 108) There are three major
revenue streams that can leverage POS for schools and universities; ticket sales,
concessions and retail licensed merchandise. In order to make any organization
profitable and increase revenue, one must leverage every point of sale, beginning
with ticket sales. There are several different ways that organizations can increase
their customer database, upsell their current customers and solidify their longtime
customers, all which will help improve their revenue and overall bottom line. We
will focus on the ways that universities and schools can do this with and in
coordination with sporting events and teams. The first and largest potential for
increasing revenue is through ticket sales. Depending on the team, the sport, and
even the kind of season a team is having (wins/losses), all of these can impact ticket
revenue for schools and universities. Most universities already have a solid
foundation of repeat season ticketholders for certain events. These would be
considered longtime customers. These should be one of the first groups to solicit for
additional business because they have already shown long term interest in the school,
team or sport. They have continued to donate money, purchase their season tickets,

America s Foreign Policy In The Middle East Summary
The United States of America s foreign policy has been related to the Middle East
since the end of World War II. The conflict has primarily been to stop the spread of
communism not only in the Middle East, but also in the world as a whole.
Communism has been the core dispute in American history and is still prominent in
today s society. Some would argue that the specific conflicts in history directly relate
to the acting president s philosophy. Based on this, historians can determine what
shaped America s foreign policy. Some discovered changes in the philosophy when
each conflict arose, yet it seems to shift every time a new president comes along.
While historians focus on how each event has prompted a specific response from the
president;... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the chapter about Truman, he uses both logic and evidence to invalidate a
source. In the beginning of the chapter, he emphasizes that Truman himself
thought that the Middle Eastern problem was an important issue for America.
However, on page 19, it states, [Truman] has been quoted as explaining to a group
of diplomats in 1945, I m sorry, gentlemen, but I have to answer to hundreds of
thousands who are anxious for the success of Zionism; I do not have hundreds of
thousands of Arab among my constituents , but his comment, if indeed was made,
was unusual.6 The president repeatedly told the State department not to consider
political factors in decided the Palestine policy (Spiegel, 19). Spiegel uses the
word if to indicate that the evidence he just stated might not be valid. This hints to
the reader that Spiegel is about to prove why this source should not be as credible
in a counter argument. He also explains that the statement is unusual based on
Truman s personality and his previous speeches on similar topics. This brings the
reader to question whether or not the source of evidence is credible. This is exactly
what Speigel wanted because this quote proves that he didn t care about the Arabs
and Middle Eastern policy. If this was true, it would start to hinder at Spiegel s
argument in this specific chapter. He then goes into depth by explaining
Anti-Trust Laws
Anti trust laws apply to business conduct in interstate commerce (Jennings 520).
Furthermore, these laws make sure everything is regulated accordingly and that
trade takes place efficiently and effectively. There are a variety of different laws,
but I will inform you about three of them: the Clayton Act, the Robinson Patman
Act, and the Federal Trade Commission Act. *The Clayton Act is a federal antitrust
statute that prohibits tying and interlocking directorates (Jennings 545). In other
words, it controls mergers (Jennings 545). The book gives a detailed concise
example of tying. It uses a copier machine and copying paper. If one is requiring the

Historical Accuracy Of Henry Iv Plays By Shakespeare
Name Instructor Course Date Historical Accuracy in Henry IV Plays by
Shakespeare Research shows that Shakespeare s historical plays do not offer good
sources for accurate rendering of historical events. The details of place of issues
such as place, time, and personality are all subject to a great deal of artistic license
just as most of modern Hollywood movies about the past. However, to some
extent, Shakespeare did research his materials. Close analysis of his famous works
and plays indicate that Henry IV draws upon a surprising range of disparate
sources[CITATION Jam991 p 4 l 1033 ]. One of the most obvious sources for
Henry IV plays is Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland by Raphael
Holinshed, the 1587 edition. Holinshed style of history focuses on personalities
and motivations of important historical figures as well as much detail regarding
Henry s IV tussle with Percy. Another important source used by Shakespeare in
historical plays was The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of Lancaster and
York by Samuel Daniel. The poems written by Daniel differ greatly from that of
Holinshed particularly on the emphasis on the Princes of Wales and the rivalry he
had with Hotspur. Shakespeare followed and used Daniel in portraying Hotspur as
a much younger person at the period of rebellion though history shows that he was
older than King Henry IV was. Both Daniel and Shakespeare use the battle of
Shrewsbury as an occasion for the prince to prove his valor as well martial

Essay on African Slave Religion
The Community of Enslaved Africans and their Religious Spiritual Practices.
During a most dark and dismal time in our nations history, we find that the Africans
who endured horrible circumstances during slavery, found ways of peace and hope in
their religious beliefs. During slavery, African s where able to survive unbearable
conditions by focusing on their spirituality. Christianity was amongst the slave
community. Being that the vast majority of the slave community was born in
America, converting slaves to Christianity was not a struggle. All slaves were not
Christian, and slaves that had accepted Christianity were not official members of the

African firmly believes that there is a living communion or bond of life which
makes for solidarity among members of the same family. Before Christianity,
Africans did have their own system of salvation. In traditional religions, salvation
can and does take the form of courage to face the reality of morality. The church
was looked art as a place for political activity, a source of economic cooperation, an
agency of social control, and a refuge in a hostile white world. Slaves worshiped with
great enthusiasm. Religion, after all, provided a ready refuge from their daily
miseries and kindled the hope that one day their sorrows might end. Planter s
actually encouraged religious observances among their slaves hoping that
exposure to Christian precepts might make their laborers more docile, less prone
to run away, and more cooperative and efficient workers. But slaves turned biblical
scriptures to their own purposes forging a theology that often emphasized the
theme of liberation. It was easy for them to see, for example, in the figure of
Moses a useful model for their own dreams; like the Israelites, they too were ready
to cross a River Jordan into a promised land of freedom. The religious services held
in the quarters provided slaves with so many positive experiences that, even as they
were being exploited, they managed bravely, but perhaps not too surprisingly, to feel
that they were free within themselves. In this way slaves began to achieve a degree
of liberation well

Diagnostic Imaging: A Sound Career in Sonography One of the main reasons for
choosing a healthcare career in todays society, aside from the basic need for a self
sustaining income, is the opportunity to make differences in peoples lives. With the
demand for healthcare professionals and alternative medicines on the rise, so is the
need for adequately educated trained personnel. Diagnostic Medical Sonography is
becoming an increasingly attractive alternative to radiologic procedures such as x ray

accessibility to low cost portable ultrasound equipment has led to a growing number

Decline Of Apple Essay
Decline of apple [90 s] Erosion of apple started in early 80 s. Due to events such as
release of apple III which was a successor to apple ll but was disastrous due to no
cooling fan, less compatibility with II and lastly the release of IBM s computer
which was far more powerful. And later launch of Lisa, which was functions, as
well as cost wise not so promising. And in the late 80 s, departure of Steve jobs and
forming neXT. As a rival for apple. Massively contributed. However this was
merely the beginning, which was soon followed by more events which further
pushed apple over the edge. The marketing issue. In 1992, apple had not
established a retailer store yet, which meant they had to sell their products through
other retailer stores such as sears etc. But this didn t have a positive outcome since
apple lacked effective marketing and retail presentation. Also, personal computers,
with less expensive components had higher profits for retailers. A few of them
only invested in apple because of its status and recognition. While others didn t find
a good reason to invest at all basically due to such small profits. Bad business plan.

Comparing Parthenon And Pantheon Buildings

The Theme Of Characterism In Fellowship Of The Rings
Fellowship of the Rings, by J.R.R. Tolkien is perhaps one of the most famous
books ever written, and for good reason. The book is innovative, compelling, and
repeatedly has you wondering what s next. It s main character, Frodo Baggins, goes
on a journey that by the end of the book has still yet to be completed. In The
Fellowship of the Ring, J.R.R. Tolkien shows that a hero must keep his desire to
complete his goal no matter what, through Frodo s temptation to return home, the
road of trials, and refusal of action.
Frodo shows the theme of sticking with your goal no matter what, through his choice
to continue with his journey to destroy the ring, despite his temptation to return
home. When the Fellowship is stuck in the middle of the blizzard at the start of their
journey, Gandalf explains that We still have our journey and our errand before us,
and says that We have no choice but to go on, or to return to Rivendell, (Tolkien,
pp. 287). Some of the group wants to return to Rivendell, while the rest of the
group wants to keep going. Ultimately, since Frodo is the ring bearer he exclaims I
wish I was back there, but how can I return without shame unless there is indeed no
other way, and we are already defeated, (Tolkien, pp.287). This comes to show that
even though the chance of them completing their journey is slim, Frodo decides to
keep going and to complete the task they set out for. This step in the story is the hero
s temptation to return home and it helps the
Taking a Look at Neuroblastoma
Neuroblastoma most often begins in early childhood. It usually affects children under
the age of five. It is found when the tumour begins to grow and cause symptoms.
Sometimes the tumour forms before birth during the growth of the fetus whilst in the
womb. This tumour is found during a fetal ultrasound. Neuroblastoma often begins in
the abdomen affecting the nerve tissues of the adrenal gland. There are two adrenal
glands, positioned one on top of each kidney in the back of the upper abdomen.
The adrenal glands produce and secret important hormones that help control heart
rate, blood pressure, blood sugar, and the way the body reacts to stress or danger.
(National Cancer Institute, 2014)
They also control the function of other tissues, organs and glands in your body to
maintain homeostasis during stress. Although the adrenal gland is the most common
area of the body neuroblastoma begins at, the tumour may also grow and spread to
other part of the body, such as the bones, liver, and skin. The tumour is spread
through the blood and lymphatic system.
The adrenal gland has two part of the organ which consist of the outer cortex and the
inner medulla. The cortex is the main part of the adrenal gland and the medulla is
about ten percent of the adrenal gland.
The cortex is divided into three zones which consists of the zona glomerulosa, the
zona fasciculata and the zona reticularis.
The cells of the glomerulosa are structured into small rounded groups of curved
column. The cells
Drought In The Dust Bowl
The Dust Bowl drought was the worst in U.S. history that was around 1930. It was
in the mid west where it covered sixty percent of the country. Millions of people
had to move to other parts because it lasted four years. It was at its peak in 1934
according to National Climate Data Center . We already have a lot of drought in
California and west although one might say it is all of the U.S. With little rain and
high tempatures in the summers drys out the vegatation which become a hazard
for fires. Global warming might have some to do with the problem of drought.
High populations need more water, with more water being used, depletes
resources of water supplies which causes drought also. People need to become
more aware of the use of the use of water, a lot of people take it for granite that
there is plenty out there for all of us to share. In fact, if we don t start to conserve,

(WWF Global) When the quality of water becomes bad it cannot be used for certain

Harmful algal blooms are overgrowths of algae in water. Some produce dangerous
toxins in fresh or marine water but even nontoxic blooms hurt the environment and
local economies. (Environmental Protection Agency). Algal blooms can be
comprised of two different organisms, green algae and cyanobacteria. Green algae
are eukaryotic organisms that contain chlorophyll and photosynthetic; whereas,
cyanobacteria are prokaryotic organisms and classify as bacteria. They also lack a
true nucleus, do not contain chlorophyll, but do obtain energy through
photosynthesis. (Carolina Beyond the Tape 12) In addition, runoff containing
phosphates and nitrates, water moving very slowly, and sunlight all contribute to
the growth of algae blooms which is not a good thing. People and animals can be
negatively affected by the dangerous substances found in algae blooms; this can
cause people and animals to become sick and they could possibly die. When more
water to be cleaned because of the toxins found in the water it can become very
expensive. To add on, if a town or state s main freshwater source is drastically
affected by an algae bloom they can potentially lose the place that they depend on
for clean water, and have to find a new one. Additionally, there are different ways for
algae blooms to be harmful to an environment. For instance, algae blooms deplete the
amount of oxygen in the water and

because of their risk of terrorism. In 1790, Congress adopted a uniform law so that
any ВЁfree white personВЁ could apply for citizenship after two years of residency.
In 1868, nearly 80 years later, African Americans gained citizenship to the United

Although it seems like we have been changing our immigration laws to make our
country a more open and welcoming society for all people, regardless of race or
religion, it appears our new president is rewinding history. The first American
nationality law was enacted by Congress in 1790 which allowed free white people to
earn citizenship after two years of residency in the country. According to Charles
Gordon, Former Deputy General Counsel of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization
Service, ВЁAlthough there was no contemporaneous Congressional expression to

privilege. The designation of free white persons as the sole group eligible for
naturalization continued without change for eighty years. Much like what is

immigration to be enacted in the United States excluded specific groups that were
deemed unfit for full participation. On January 29, 2017, Passengers [at Dulles

largely due because of the concerted effort that the Christians are making to teach
their religion to everyone in the entire world. But while everything may seem... Show

These people should be growing, but instead they are still as small and as weak in
the faith as they were years ago when they were added the Lord s church. This is
not how it should be! They should already understand that basics of faith, the
resurrection, and these other fundamental doctrines, but we re still having to teach
them on these very things. That s the message that the writer of Hebrews was
trying to get across. In short, these people need to grow up! Having identified this
problem, the Hebrew letter was an attempt to solve this problem. By reminding these
babes of these basic doctrines of the church of Christ, he hoped to be able to move
on to discuss greater things. It remains to be seen whether this will actually solve the
problem.
The Jews, who are very much opposed to the Christians, seem to be hoping that this
problem is a sign of the beginning of the church of Christ s fall. If there s this much
conflict within their own body, a local Rabbi said, then it s only matter of time before
the whole thing comes crashing down!
Will Christianity be able to pass this test, or will they flunk out? Only time will
Who Is Molano Alienated In The Dispossessed
Colombia s guerrillas and paramilitaries have affected the country for decades; the
economy in general, the wealthy, the poor, but mostly, those who have been forced
to leave their homes because of a violent threat. In the novel The Dispossessed, by
Alfredo Molano, this situation is revealed in a very powerful way, unmasking the
stories of different characters, Molano himself included. Characters like Osiris,
Nubia, and Molano were constantly affected by withdrawal throughout the novel.
These violently dispossessed people s separation from their home is alienating
because they are forced to develop a new lifestyle without their families. Molano s
personal anecdote, differing from the rest, involved displacement in a unique way. He

Osiris felt desperate without her family and explained, The truth is I hadn t had
any real peace of mind without her. You ve got to have the people you love around
you, specially in the kind of times we re living in (Molano 170). Even though
Osiris s life was somewhat stable at the time taking into account everything she
had gone through not being with her daughter was killing her. She reiterated that
she wanted to see her family, and be with them, because the fact is,
notwithstanding that food, clothes, and a house can be replaced, she knew no one
would ever take over her daughter s place in her life. She was aware of this, and
even asked her daughter to come to Bogota, knowing that [they d] all worry a lot
less if [they] were together (Molano 171). Osiris needed the people she loved the
most, her daughter and grandchildren, to go through the toughest of times with her;
only that way could she live through it. They can be hungry, hurt, or homeless, but if
they re together, they ll be happy. It ends up being a simple task for one to realize
that the most difficult part of displacement is leaving a family

B-24 Research Paper
B 17 and B 24 in World War II The model B 17 and B 24 airplanes are widely known
as the most iconic American bomber planes that were used in World War II. The
airplanes were manufactured by separate companies, and both produced over a ten
year period with several thousands of each manufactured. Without the introduction
of these airplanes, the aerial combat of World War II would have changed
drastically and could potentially have changed the outcome of the war. The B 17
was manufactured by Boeing in 1935, with the original prototype called the Model
299. This airplane was the sole focus of the company during this point in time due
to the USAAC (US Army Air Corps) calling for proposals of airplane designs be
sent to them, the most promising company would receive a contract for 220 planes.

With newer and better technology coming out, the company planned on changing
the specifications to make a more modern airplane that later became known as the
B 24. The B 24 made some improvements including; higher top speed, heavier bomb
load and other slight upgrades. (Aviation history B 24) While there were several
improvements it had one flaw that made it more of a sitting target than the B 17;
the max ceiling it could operate at was around four to seven thousand less
(depending on model) making the B 24 more susceptible to flak guns. Even with
this flaw the USAAC ordered more B 24 s, so much so that the rest of the work
had to be divided between Ford, Douglas and North American. (Military history)
Over eighteen thousand were made between the four manufactures. The B 24 was
later given the name Liberator after the British ordered them for their Royal Air
Force. Though the B 24 was created in mind of updating the B 17, the upgrades were
close enough to the newer versions of the B 17 that it became more common to see
them flying together in missions rather than replacing

Big Bang
it is important to understand what Big Bang Theory (BBT) is and is not. Contrary
to the common perception, it is not a theory about the origin of the universe. Rather,
it describes the development of the universe over time. This process is often called
cosmic evolution . Over the last several decades the basic picture of cosmology
given by BBT has been generally accepted by astronomers, physicists and the wider
scientific community. However, no similar consensus has been reached on ideas
about the ultimate origin of the universe. This remains an area of active research and
some of idea current ideas are discussed below. That said, BBT is nevertheless about
origins
In addition to being a theory about the origins of the basic building ... Show more

In both cases, the model implies that the universe is expanding into some larger, pre
existing volume. In fact, the theory says nothing like that. Instead, the expansion of
the universe is completely self contained.
People often have difficulty with the idea that space itself expands . An easier way to
understand this concept is to think of it as the distance between any two points in the
universe increasing. First, the distance between A and B is a function of time and
second, the distance is always increasing.
To really understand what this means and how one would define distance in such a
model, it is necessary to have some idea of what Einstein s theory of General
Relativity (GR) is about: Space tells matter how to move, matter tells space how to
curve. Another way of describing GR would be something like: Energy determines
the geometry and changes in the geometry of the universe, and, in turn, the geometry
determines the movement of energy .
So, given this, how does one get BBT from GR? The basic equations come directly
from Einstein s GR equation under two key assumptions: First, that the distribution
of matter and energy in the universe is homogeneous and, second, that the
distribution is isotropic. A simpler way to put this is that the universe looks the same
everywhere and in every direction = cosmological principle.
If we adopt these simple assumptions, the implications for the geometry of the
universe are quite profound. First, one
Code Of Ethics In The Movie Essay
In the movie Limitless, a drug called NZT is introduced which allows the user s
brain to do anything mentally, such as flawless memory recall and the ability to be
steps ahead of everybody else. If NZT were to be introduced to the American public,
pharmacists would experience grave concern regarding the distribution of this drug.
Currently, there are drugs already available to the public that act as stimulants such
as Adderall, and drugs to keep the user awake such as Provigil. NZT seems as
though it is an enhanced mixture of the two products. With both Adderall, and
Provigil being controlled substances, it can be assumed that NZT would be a
controlled substance as well. Pharmacists, more particularly in the independent
pharmacy profession will face several moral considerations, from upholding the Code
of Ethics, to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pharmacists must ask themselves whether or not the benefits of a drug like NTZ
would outweigh the risks to the patients. The chief concern would deal with safety.
Throughout the movie, users of NZT received a high of sorts when the drug came
into full effect. As time went on, people who took NZT began to build a tolerance
to NZT and needed to increase their dosage to gain the same effect as the initial
dose. This can spiral into an addiction if patients are not monitored correctly, which
consequently defeats the purpose of any drug when it comes to benefiting a patient
versus hurting them. In addition to addiction as a side effect, there are added serious
side effects a patient may experience, such as short term amnesia, changes in the
neural networking of the brain and the greatest side effect of possible death. With
these side effects in mind, pharmacists would need to determine whether NZT is
medically necessary or if a better alternative prescription drug remains that would
better fit the needs of the patient, with less serious side
The Cells And Skeletal Muscle
Neurons and Skeletal Muscle
The human body uses unspecialised sperm cells which come from egg cell from
the female or sperm cell form the male (zygote) then they specialise into neuron and
skeletal muscle or any other type of cell. The stem cells are the building blocks they
go through a various process called stem cells differentiation which allows them to be
specialise.
The zygote turns into a morula which is called a totipotent; totipotent is a whole
organism which can turn into multiple types of cells.
The totipotent cells then turn into a blastocyst by many types of cell division, which
forms a lot of cells in side.
The cells that are placed inside are called pulripotent (inner mass cells) the cues
decide if the pulripotent is internal by switching on the genes which decide what type
of cell it is.
Which then becomes a unipotent; this is when it becomes specialised cell that makes
up the body.
This is called differentiation so it s when unspecialised cells for different types of
function, this is what gives people or organism an advantage so they can cope with
environment.
Neurons cells are differentiated cells. The stem cells either become a motor neurone,
sensory Neurone or relay neurone. These cells are specialised for the function by they
why they are structured and found in the body. As you can see the pictures on the
right it shows the structure of the all the neuron cells, and the direction of which the

Descriptive Essay About A Baseball Park
As I am driving near the Southwest University Park in downtown El Paso I can
feel the excitement through my veins, I hear the crowd cheering and screaming as

red Chihuahua s jerseys as they enter the stadium and I can feel the El Paso spirit
again like never before. Today I am getting that great feeling when you know this
experience will be once in a lifetime. The brand new baseballpark, and how the
people from El Paso area come together to make this a great event is what excites me
more to attend in the future.
The baseball park is beautiful, I can tell is brand new by the cleanness and modern
infrastructure of the stadium and the crowd area, including the normal and VIP
seating. I am majoring in engineering, for those who are on the same path or
similar as me, we can appreciate the mechanics and physics of how things work
and how we can build such amazing buildings, cars, and all the things we use in a
daily basis. As I am entering the park the first thing going through my mind is,
where in the world could my seat be located . It s not a huge stadium like the ones
from AA baseball teams, but it s not small either. I have been to bigger baseball parks
and I can still feel the exact the same way when looking at all the crowd and
Public Housing During The Nineteenth Century

well on the street with nowhere to go? If you re family is not making enough money
and you need assistance from the government, Public Housing may be the thing you
need. Public housing are homes that are owned by the government and in some cases
by private landlords who give low income citizens a home. Public Housing was
created in between the nineteenth and twentieth century in hopes to decrease poverty
rates from inclining. The Industrial Revolution caused poverty that led to sickness
and death to rise which convinced the government to create this subsidy. As in the

housing is not open to all, only those who meet their criteria. The age does not

able to provide a home for your child. Even though the age does not explain the

who are most likely to get public housing are those who have a special diagnoses

you can no longer work. Another special problems are being an elder, being laid

At first I was hiking in the Costa Rican Jungle and was inspired by the many animals
and sea life creatures.
In fact, I took notice to the many geckos I was lucky enough to witness in action.
What really crossed my eye was how acrobatic these geckos were. Millions of hairs

extremely miniscule and the net effect is very powerful. In fact, the hairs are so

Role Of The British Empire During The Industrial

Introduction The people of Great Britain are very proud of the nations history
when it comes to engineering and innovation. The role the British Empire played
in the industrial revolution??, the development of the steam engine?? and rail
transport?? were the first few steps that changed the face of the world (for better or
worth) that we live in now. This idea fills people s hearts with pride. But where this
idea is still alive in some parts of the country, there are areas where this attitude is
no longer to be found. The birthplace of the railway has seemed to have fallen

Why I Learned With Studying Linguistics
I was the child who never knew what she wanted to be when she grew up. I could
see myself doing everything because I knew that I could do anything. Fascinated by
their complexity and similarities, I slowly fell in love with languages. Nothing is
quite as beautiful as their nuances and how they vary among people. With this novel
fascination, I decided that I wanted to learn as many languages as I possibly could
and everything about them and their connections to other languages. In addition,
understanding intricate grammar rules comes easily to me, and I have always
enjoyed its structure and patterns. If I combine these two interests of mine, it is
apparent that I should study linguistics. I had figured out what I wanted to study, but
not what to do after college. I remembered helping my friends in Latin last year with
the grammar rules of English and how I am constantly correcting my family s
improper grammar, and I realized that I love explaining and teaching languages. With
this realization, I decided that I wantto teach English as a second language. Now I had
to decide what college to attend. After obsessing over the magnificent Hogwarts in
all of its glory in Harry Potter, I couldn t imagine not wanting to go to castle looking
college. Who doesn t want to go to a college that looks like a castle? Being the
perfect amalgamation of appearance and exemplary linguistics department,
Cambridge is the school for me.

Summary Of Language And Thought By Susanne K. Langer
According to Susanne K. Langer in the essay Language and Thought, an essential
difference between animals and humans is the way humans think in symbols and
signs, instead of just solely relying on signs. Langer suggests that thinking in signs,
which is something both humans and animals share in common, is a process that
leads us to react instinctively to the physical presence of that sign. Signs are very
much a direct cause to a particular effect. It seems that to learn a sign you simply
must be conditioned to respond certain ways to a specific observation. Symbols,
though, are exclusively humandevices of language that provoke thoughts about a
particular thing. The use of symbols has allowed humans to reach much more
complex levels of thought,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What I found interesting was just how many of these tiny visual cues made perfect
sense in my head, and were almost universal in their application. Why do Xs over
the eyes indicate that someone is knocked out or dead? How does the focus on an
empty chair entice us to think about what is missing? Why can we expect a story
to be focusing on a flash back when the color drastically shifts to black and white?
These are the types of visual symbols that we have come to universally understand
on their own. While it can be suggested that these may as well be signs, because
they elicit the same response, keep in mind that the intent of the symbols may be
different depending on the context. Perhaps there is a focus on a chair because the
design of the chair is the punchline to some joke or the answer to a question. The
black and white could of course symbolize a flashback, but it can also be purely for
artistic preference, to suggest a mood shift, or symbolize the color having been
drained from a character s life. Symbols are constantly evolving, and this is why they
cannot be confused with the much more static natured

Essay For Internship. What I Learned From My Internship Experience Essay - LuciasrDavies

  • 1. Essay For Internship Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essay for Internship" can prove to be a challenging endeavor. The difficulty lies not only in the need to showcase one's qualifications and aspirations effectively but also in striking a delicate balance between self-promotion and humility. Firstly, there's the task of articulating personal experiences and achievements in a way that highlights their relevance to the internship in question. It's not just about listing accomplishments; rather, it requires weaving a narrative that illustrates your skills, competencies, and how they align with the internship's requirements. Additionally, addressing the prompt while avoiding clichГ©s and generic statements adds another layer of complexity. A successful essay should stand out, offering unique insights into your character and demonstrating a genuine passion for the field. This requires thoughtful reflection and the ability to communicate one's motivations clearly. Furthermore, achieving the right tone can be a hurdle. The essay should be professional yet personable, conveying a sense of enthusiasm without sounding overly casual. Striking this balance is crucial to leave a positive and memorable impression on the reader. Navigating the challenge of conciseness is yet another aspect. Given the typically limited word count for internship essays, condensing information while maintaining its impact requires careful consideration of each word and sentence. In conclusion, writing an essay for an internship demands a skillful blend of self-expression, persuasion, and conciseness. It necessitates a deep understanding of one's own experiences and how they align with the internship's objectives. While challenging, a well-crafted essay can significantly enhance your chances of securing the desired internship opportunity. If crafting such essays proves to be daunting, there are resources available. For assistance in developing compelling internship essays and more, you might consider exploring services like HelpWriting.net. They offer a range of writing support to help you articulate your thoughts effectively and increase your chances of success. Essay For Internship Essay For Internship
  • 2. African Influence In Latin Music Latin Music is a form of art; it is a way of expression, and the liberty to express happiness, depression, heartache, lust, and/or fame. Latin music is derived from Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. Most of the Salsa music has a lot of African influence with many rhythms. The African influencen Latin musiccould be the single most important element in Latin music history. Samba, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Timba are all strongly influenced by African Culture. Latin Pop and Rock en EspaГ±ol have been shaped by the foreign sounds of Rock, Alternative and Pop music. This paper will elaborate and explain how Salsa is a melting pot for Latin Culture The great migration of Puerto Ricans to New York City in the 1940s influenced the birth of Salsa. Harvest Of Empire written by Juan Rodriguez shows how the migration of Puerto Ricans to the United States had a great influence on music and culture developed at that time. Puerto Ricans would be known as NewYorkRicans and Salsa would later become their identity. Identity is not a thing but a process Dancing Salsa is another act of acquiring knowledge and self knowledge. In songs they could express they emotions, their distress, problems from their past. For many Latinos, the cultural and political value of salsa dance, with regard to the construction and performance of identity, is often made tangible (consciously and/or unconsciously) through movement in connection to music, both individually and collectively. Salsa unites many cultures, one main reason why it does so is that, despite the cultural history that each country may have, Salsa dance and music are often represented as apolitical and ahistorical.
  • 3. The Prince By Niccolo Machiavelli When talking about leadership as a whole, a true leader sees his work as a self less service towards a higher purpose. And to be more specific with a political leader, being knowledgeable about how to build and use a strong military, how to support the people, and how to take action immediately when needed. And I remember the lecture in class where our instructor told us about how leadershipis not power and power can make someone treat people like items instead of human beings. This reading was an extraordinary guide to how leaders make decisions maneuver at just about any capacity in their principality. The Princeby: Niccolo Machiavelli really tries and is successful at dividing politics and ethics to decipher the characteristics of a good and bad political/government ruling leader in this novel. In this reading, I seen 5 points that Machiavelli talked about, and those were: Free Will, Being Hated vs Goodwill, Virtue, A Good Military, and finally Human Nature. These are a necessity to the recipe that Machiavelli is making in this book. In the first few chapters of the book, Machiavelli begins to talk about principalities and the diverse forms to set the base for the novel. The general definition of a principality is a local territory that is initially ruled by a prince. And also composite principalities, which are principalities that are newly created or annexed from another power. And in the book Machiavelli discusses how some principalities are inherited from previous

Compare waiting times for the pre triage and the post triage systems. Is the new system an improvement over the old? See Flow Chart attached. No, it did not improve the process. The new triage did not meet the intended goals of off loading patients to NPs and the overall throughput time did not change. 2. Analyze the available MD and NP capacity. How effective is the clinic in matching supply and demand? Table 1 Daily Average: 143 visits MD 8a 6p (10h) Provider Cycle Time Room Availability Visit Capacity Capacity Utilization 8 rooms 3 / 22 MD s =13.6% (1 .136) or 86.4% **Estimate of % time all 8 rooms available 19.4 ... Table 2 Service Rate Example Midpoint Salary Hrs/Yr 2080 Per Hr Rate Pts/ Hr Cost per Patient MD 45,000 45k/2080= $21.63 3.1 $21.63/3.1=$6.98 NP 21,000 21k/2080=
  • 6. $10.10 1.8 $10.10/1.8=$5.61 The NP cost per patient is 80% of that of an MD ($5.61/$6.98 = 80%), but their visit volume per hour is 58% of the physician (1.8/3.1 = 58%). Based upon service rates above, it is more cost effective for the physicians to see the patients. If patients were truly offloaded to NP s by the triage system it would be cost effective based upon the service rate. But this did not happen. In fact, the percent of patients seen by NPs decreased from 40% to 28%, and the percent patients seen by MDs increased from 41% to 48% (excluding patients that requested a particular provider). 5. What actions would you recommend to Ms. Angell? a. Eliminate walk in appointments to relieve an obvious bottleneck. b.Reassign the number of exam rooms to better optimize utilization and fulfill demand; MD cycle time is 19.4 minutes and NP cycle time is 32.8 minutes. Redirecting exam rooms to MD s would also reduce the wait time for next available appointment thus improving patient satisfaction with wait time. For example,

  • 8. Analysis Of Bermudas By Andrew Marvell The poem Bermudas is written by Andrew Marvell in seventeenth century celebrating the establishment of a new colony in the island called Bermuda. This poem is inspired Marvell wrote the poem in couplets of rhyming iambic tetrameter. Marvell structured the poem as a song of praise, sung by the group of English colonists as they arrive to the islands by boat. The sonnet starts with the storyteller presenting the scene on the sea off the remote Bermudas , where a gathering of English settlers in a small boat are singing. As a poet, he began writing at a young age though his initial poems that were published. while he was still in college, were in Greek and Latin. It is ironical that much of his sarcastic political satires were not published during his lifetime, and he became recognized as a major poet only after his death. The life of this enigmatic poet has always fascinated historians due to the scarcity of information about his personal life. Nature and the title of the poem: As we see the title of the very poetry we can easily understand it is chosen with the context. Bermuda is an island located in the Atlantic ocean. As it is written at the title about an island it is so obvious that natural details would be there. And so the poet deals with the matter so effectively. Textual reference of natural details: That led us through the watery maze The oceans around the Bermuda island are stormy and hazardous to explore. The natural obstacle face by the people who wanted to come there is expressed by the beautiful phrase watery maze. Going through the maze is very difficult and creates anxiety. After reaching destination through this path relief comes in mind and the joy cannot be explained in words. Comparing to that situation after the hazardous, fearful way through the rough ocean the pilgrims of England were so happy to find the island and praising god for leading them to this bountiful land. He gave us this eternal spring

Introduction The relationship between Perfectionism, Procrastination and Academic Performance As said by (Brown, Elissa J; Heimberg, Richard G; Frost, Randy O; Makris, Gregory S et al, 1999), Perfectionism has been defined as a dispositional tendency to set excessively high performance standards and to then evaluate one s performance in an overly critical manner. . This investigation looks at two types of perfectionism Adaptive, and Maladaptive Perfectionism. Adaptive perfectionism is the inclination to set higher standards, participate in study more often, achieve better grades, and emphasize more focus on academic importance in their life. Maladaptive Perfectionism is also a predictor for studying more often, however research has found evidence that it has been linked with higher anxiety, perceived difficulty and no increase in grades (Brown et al., 1999). These two types of perfectionism are measured using 3 of the 6 subscales of Frost et al., (1990) s Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(MPS). A study looked at perfectionism, behaviour, cognition and affect in a women s private liberal arts college gave participants a small range of questionnaires over 6 times in the semester and looked at final grades to see if there was a significant correlation between any of the variables. • 12. The Crucible Theme Analysis The Crucible is a play with an abundance of themes. Each of the characters have a theme that contributes to the overall theme of the story as well. The Crucible shows unjust decisions controlled by manipulated courts and envious girls. The court officials put 200 people through the misery of being accused of practicing acts associated with the devil, and they executed 20. The theme that comes to mind after these actions are brought up is inequity. Abigail accused many people in the town of Salemof actions that they did not do. She made the marriage of John and Elizabeth Proctorunstable by still trying to steal John from Elizabeth even though John was trying to regain the trust of his wife. Another theme that is present is that reputations can be altered easily. Going back to the Abigail and John incident, John s reputation was brought down when the court found out that he cheated on his wife. Another example of how reputations are judged in this play is when John didn t want his name posted on the church door. His name would have been frowned upon since it would have been on the list of people who practiced witchcraft, and he knew people would think less of him (62). Abigail also fed false accusations about well respected people in the town of Salem. Abigail had told the court that Elizabeth Proctor had been practicing the devil s work, and Elizabeth then got taken away even though she hadn t had done anything (37). A good reputation can be easily faltered, and it is a

From the onset of the story, Millhauser does an excellent job of creating a strong perception of this character, highlighting his insecurities, and flaws. The author s ability to establish a meek and somewhat awkward personality to this character really intrigued me and made me want to learn what made him the person he became. With his nuanced use of dialogue, Millhauser added another layer to this character. We begin to formulate a persona of this character that is not only meek and timid in his physical appearance, but also in the way he speaks and interacts like Monica. He s the

As Rollin and Rollin stated, most pet owners know very little about their animals...people wishing to acquire an animal should at least be compelled to demonstrate that they know what they are getting into (508). Having this basic knowledge would help all those animals who are turned in because according to many of their guardians these animal companions are to

Since the time of Moses and through the centuries divorce has been a topic of discussion and something sought after by those in an unhappy marriage. Divorce has always been around, but not nearly as much as the last century. In America data has recorded the divorce rate since the mid 880s. The data acquired over the years concludes that divorcewent from being a social taboo to a trend among friends, effecting the social views on divorce itself, marriage, and children. In the beginning of the 20th century divorce was still a tabooed subject. As America hasdeveloped over the first half of the century it begged for divorce, but this was not so easily achieved in a respectable society (Friedman, 2004, p. 151). This resulted into collusion and migratory divorce, often people would claim false abuse from their spouse to gain grounds for a divorce (p. 152). Divorce laws did not change until 1970 when the silent revolution began with the passing of a new no fault divorce laws and the abolishment of the dual system (p. 154). Quickly and quietly without debate these new divorce laws were published and passed allowing both men and women to file for divorce without any reason or grounds for a divorce (p. 155). Property rights and children are now the most difficult part of the divorce. The no fault laws made divorce quick and cheap, especially if the marriage was short and no children are involved (p. 156). These new laws made divorce

Responsive design isn t about just getting the right information at a faster rate of time, but to ensure the user experience is effective and concise. When people hear the word mobile web, it is absolutely being well understood of what it means. Mobile web refers to where people are accessing through the Internet on their mobile devices and accessing information to whatever users are searching (Mckee, 2014). According to the article, Why You Should Optimize Your Website by Suzanne McKee, tells readers like us that there are about 77% of people who have mobile devices (Mckee, 2014). This leads to a very well define conclusion, if you will, that mobile users are looking for information about a company s product using their mobile devices regardless if it s smartphones or tablets. As more users are getting into their mobile devices, responsive web design has its own future too when it comes to user experience. Additionally, responsive design is becoming more emerging into the world. Mobile users use their devices in three common ways to search, to directly navigate to a destination website, send a link to themselves via email so they can visit it later (Savitz, 2012). This is the reason why responsive design is becoming more popular and is ascending into its trends. Responsive web design is flexible and it takes full

Word Count: 1544 Part I: Introduction The 1180 through 1185 Gempei War between the Japanese Taira and Minamoto clans is often pointed to as an example of the Japanese warrior ethic. The Heike Monogatari traditionally would argue that this is true, however, the reality of the 12th century conflict paints a much different story. Analysis of the war shows that the deciding factors of the war were not necessarily the military strength of the Minamoto, but instead it was a brilliant and lucky political chess game played by Minamoto Yoritomo. The Imperial Court neglected the many communities and prefectures that make up Japan. This led to many local lords taking matters into their own hands, and establishing virtually autonomous kingdoms each fighting each other for power. When the Gempei War broke out in 1180 Yoritomo pounced on the opportunity to gain overwhelming support. With the establishment of the Kamakura Shogunate, Yoritomo designed a system that would allocate authority to local military leaders that would, in turn, remain loyal to the Shogun. During the Gempei War, Yoritomo offered these positions to military lords across eastern Japan. With this strategy, Yoritomo was able to amass a force that outnumbered that of the Taira. This quote addresses the importance of this fact, the war s larger significance lay in Yoritomo s rechanneling of hostility among provincial warriors. By promising them land and jobs when he won, Yoritomo assured the loyalty of warriors who wanted to topple their regional rivals, (Selinger,4). Had Yoritomo not appealed to these lords, the Taira would have been able to crush his

(Kelley, p. 108) There are three major revenue streams that can leverage POS for schools and universities; ticket sales, concessions and retail licensed merchandise. In order to make any organization profitable and increase revenue, one must leverage every point of sale, beginning with ticket sales. There are several different ways that organizations can increase their customer database, upsell their current customers and solidify their longtime customers, all which will help improve their revenue and overall bottom line. We will focus on the ways that universities and schools can do this with and in coordination with sporting events and teams. The first and largest potential for increasing revenue is through ticket sales. Depending on the team, the sport, and even the kind of season a team is having (wins/losses), all of these can impact ticket revenue for schools and universities. The details of place of issues such as place, time, and personality are all subject to a great deal of artistic license just as most of modern Hollywood movies about the past. However, to some extent, Shakespeare did research his materials. Close analysis of his famous works and plays indicate that Henry IV draws upon a surprising range of disparate sources[CITATION Jam991 p 4 l 1033 ]. One of the most obvious sources for Henry IV plays is Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland by Raphael Holinshed, the 1587 edition. Holinshed style of history focuses on personalities and motivations of important historical figures as well as much detail regarding Henry s IV tussle with Percy. Another important source used by Shakespeare in historical plays was The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of Lancaster and York by Samuel Daniel. The poems written by Daniel differ greatly from that of Holinshed particularly on the emphasis on the Princes of Wales and the rivalry he had with Hotspur. Shakespeare followed and used Daniel in portraying Hotspur as a much younger person at the period of rebellion though history shows that he was older than King Henry IV was. Both Daniel and Shakespeare use the battle of Shrewsbury as an occasion for the prince to prove his valor as well martial

But slaves turned biblical scriptures to their own purposes forging a theology that often emphasized the theme of liberation. It was easy for them to see, for example, in the figure of Moses a useful model for their own dreams; like the Israelites, they too were ready to cross a River Jordan into a promised land of freedom. The book is innovative, compelling, and repeatedly has you wondering what s next. It s main character, Frodo Baggins, goes on a journey that by the end of the book has still yet to be completed. In The Fellowship of the Ring, J.R.R. Tolkien shows that a hero must keep his desire to complete his goal no matter what, through Frodo s temptation to return home, the road of trials, and refusal of action. Frodo shows the theme of sticking with your goal no matter what, through his choice to continue with his journey to destroy the ring, despite his temptation to return home. When the Fellowship is stuck in the middle of the blizzard at the start of their journey, Gandalf explains that We still have our journey and our errand before us, and says that We have no choice but to go on, or to return to Rivendell, (Tolkien, pp. 287). Some of the group wants to return to Rivendell, while the rest of the group wants to keep going. Ultimately, since Frodo is the ring bearer he exclaims I wish I was back there, but how can I return without shame unless there is indeed no other way, and we are already defeated, (Tolkien, pp.287). This comes to show that even though the chance of them completing their journey is slim, Frodo decides to keep going and to complete the task they set out for. It is found when the tumour begins to grow and cause symptoms. Sometimes the tumour forms before birth during the growth of the fetus whilst in the womb. This tumour is found during a fetal ultrasound. Neuroblastoma often begins in the abdomen affecting the nerve tissues of the adrenal gland. There are two adrenal glands, positioned one on top of each kidney in the back of the upper abdomen. The adrenal glands produce and secret important hormones that help control heart rate, blood pressure, blood sugar, and the way the body reacts to stress or danger. (National Cancer Institute, 2014) They also control the function of other tissues, organs and glands in your body to maintain homeostasis during stress. Although the adrenal gland is the most common area of the body neuroblastoma begins at, the tumour may also grow and spread to other part of the body, such as the bones, liver, and skin. The tumour is spread through the blood and lymphatic system. The adrenal gland has two part of the organ which consist of the outer cortex and the inner medulla. The cortex is the main part of the adrenal gland and the medulla is about ten percent of the adrenal gland. The cortex is divided into three zones which consists of the zona glomerulosa, the zona fasciculata and the zona reticularis. The cells of the glomerulosa are structured into small rounded groups of curved column. The cells

This degrades the quality of water. (WWF Global) When the quality of water becomes bad it cannot be used for certain activities such as drinking, bathing, cleaning, cooking, and agricultural purposes. Some produce dangerous toxins in fresh or marine water but even nontoxic blooms hurt the environment and local economies. (Environmental Protection Agency). Algal blooms can be comprised of two different organisms, green algae and cyanobacteria. Green algae are eukaryotic organisms that contain chlorophyll and photosynthetic; whereas, cyanobacteria are prokaryotic organisms and classify as bacteria. They also lack a true nucleus, do not contain chlorophyll, but do obtain energy through photosynthesis. (Carolina Beyond the Tape 12) In addition, runoff containing phosphates and nitrates, water moving very slowly, and sunlight all contribute to the growth of algae blooms which is not a good thing. Rather, it describes the development of the universe over time. This process is often called cosmic evolution . Over the last several decades the basic picture of cosmology given by BBT has been generally accepted by astronomers, physicists and the wider scientific community. However, no similar consensus has been reached on ideas about the ultimate origin of the universe. This remains an area of active research and some of idea current ideas are discussed below. That said, BBT is nevertheless about origins In addition to being a theory about the origins of the basic building ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both cases, the model implies that the universe is expanding into some larger, pre existing volume. In fact, the theory says nothing like that. Instead, the expansion of the universe is completely self contained. People often have difficulty with the idea that space itself expands . An easier way to understand this concept is to think of it as the distance between any two points in the universe increasing. First, the distance between A and B is a function of time and second, the distance is always increasing. To really understand what this means and how one would define distance in such a model, it is necessary to have some idea of what Einstein s theory of General Relativity (GR) is about: Space tells matter how to move, matter tells space how to curve. Another way of describing GR would be something like: Energy determines the geometry and changes in the geometry of the universe, and, in turn, the geometry determines the movement of energy . So, given this, how does one get BBT from GR? The basic equations come directly from Einstein s GR equation under two key assumptions: First, that the distribution of matter and energy in the universe is homogeneous and, second, that the distribution is isotropic. A simpler way to put this is that the universe looks the same everywhere and in every direction = cosmological principle. If we adopt these simple assumptions, the implications for the geometry of the universe are quite profound. First, one

Pharmacists must ask themselves whether or not the benefits of a drug like NTZ would outweigh the risks to the patients. The chief concern would deal with safety. Throughout the movie, users of NZT received a high of sorts when the drug came into full effect. As time went on, people who took NZT began to build a tolerance to NZT and needed to increase their dosage to gain the same effect as the initial dose. This can spiral into an addiction if patients are not monitored correctly, which consequently defeats the purpose of any drug when it comes to benefiting a patient versus hurting them. In addition to addiction as a side effect, there are added serious side effects a patient may experience, such as short term amnesia, changes in the neural networking of the brain and the greatest side effect of possible death. With these side effects in mind, pharmacists would need to determine whether NZT is medically necessary or if a better alternative prescription drug remains that would better fit the needs of the patient, with less serious side

The stem cells are the building blocks they go through a various process called stem cells differentiation which allows them to be specialise. The zygote turns into a morula which is called a totipotent; totipotent is a whole organism which can turn into multiple types of cells. The totipotent cells then turn into a blastocyst by many types of cell division, which forms a lot of cells in side. The cells that are placed inside are called pulripotent (inner mass cells) the cues decide if the pulripotent is internal by switching on the genes which decide what type of cell it is. • 53. Geckos Research Papers At first I was hiking in the Costa Rican Jungle and was inspired by the many animals and sea life creatures. In fact, I took notice to the many geckos I was lucky enough to witness in action. What really crossed my eye was how acrobatic these geckos were. Millions of hairs are found on gecko s peculiar feet that are called setae. The hairs attraction is extremely miniscule and the net effect is very powerful. In fact, the hairs are so powerful they are measured up be able to carry 250 pounds. The trick that they us is the change of direction of the setae and the grip is instantly broken, no sticky residue, no tearing, and no pressure necessary. A team in the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, that researchers developed Geckskin, and an adhesive so strong that it can hold 700 pounds. Barlett Crosby/UMASS Amherst. ... Wind turbines are the Colossus of the modern landscape and the blades can sweep up to a football field in diameter. Critics call this particular invention unsightly while the blades clobber unsuspecting birds. There is also an a efficiency problem while the blades become more powerful, but they re size requires that they be spaced apart, this means they take up a lot of land. John Dabiri of Caltech also found a solution underwater and also built an experimental wind farm (FLOWE). In which the location of turbine relative to each other takes advantage of air flow among them Dabiri 1. The turbine placement was determined by studying the wake vortices produced by schools of swimming fish Dabiri 1. Dabiri s 30 ft. tall wind turbine has blades that gather energy generated as wind flows through the wind farm. The blades take advantage of the wind s behavior, for energy production, the way fish take advantage of water s behavior for forward
  • 54. Role Of The British Empire During The Industrial Revolution Introduction The people of Great Britain are very proud of the nations history when it comes to engineering and innovation. The role the British Empire played in the industrial revolution??, the development of the steam engine?? and rail transport?? were the first few steps that changed the face of the world (for better or worth) that we live in now. This idea fills people s hearts with pride. But where this idea is still alive in some parts of the country, there are areas where this attitude is no longer to be found. The birthplace of the railway has seemed to have fallen behind the rest of the world. High speed trains that are outdated before they are even built and portion of the public resisting even that (for all the wrong reasons). High Speed Two High Speed Two is the high speed railway that is planned to connect London to the West Midlands in its phase 1 and later extended to Manchester and 1 LASZLO ERDOS University of Birmingham December 8, 2016 Leeds in phase 2. It is scheduled to begin construction in 2017 and phase 1 will due to be finished in 2026. Most of the rails in the United Kingdom either dates back to Victorian times or is of the quality that it might as well be??. These lines are limited to a speed of 200km/h and therefore it is more efficient to built new lines for high speed rails. High Speed Rail has been around in one form or another since the 1960s (in other countries that is). Today, an operating speed of at least 250km/h is required for anything
  • 55. Why I Learned With Studying Linguistics I was the child who never knew what she wanted to be when she grew up. I could see myself doing everything because I knew that I could do anything. Fascinated by their complexity and similarities, I slowly fell in love with languages. Nothing is quite as beautiful as their nuances and how they vary among people. With this novel fascination, I decided that I wanted to learn as many languages as I possibly could and everything about them and their connections to other languages. In addition, understanding intricate grammar rules comes easily to me, and I have always enjoyed its structure and patterns. If I combine these two interests of mine, it is apparent that I should study linguistics. I had figured out what I wanted to study, but not what to do after college. I remembered helping my friends in Latin last year with the grammar rules of English and how I am constantly correcting my family s improper grammar, and I realized that I love explaining and teaching languages. With this realization, I decided that I wantto teach English as a second language. Now I had to decide what college to attend. After obsessing over the magnificent Hogwarts in all of its glory in Harry Potter, I couldn t imagine not wanting to go to castle looking college. Who doesn t want to go to a college that looks like a castle? Being the perfect amalgamation of appearance and exemplary linguistics department, Cambridge is the school for me. ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers are in high
  • 56. Summary Of Language And Thought By Susanne K. Langer According to Susanne K. Langer in the essay Language and Thought, an essential difference between animals and humans is the way humans think in symbols and signs, instead of just solely relying on signs. Langer suggests that thinking in signs, which is something both humans and animals share in common, is a process that leads us to react instinctively to the physical presence of that sign. Signs are very much a direct cause to a particular effect. It seems that to learn a sign you simply must be conditioned to respond certain ways to a specific observation. Symbols, though, are exclusively humandevices of language that provoke thoughts about a particular thing. The use of symbols has allowed humans to reach much more complex levels of thought,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What I found interesting was just how many of these tiny visual cues made perfect sense in my head, and were almost universal in their application. Why do Xs over the eyes indicate that someone is knocked out or dead? How does the focus on an empty chair entice us to think about what is missing? Why can we expect a story to be focusing on a flash back when the color drastically shifts to black and white? These are the types of visual symbols that we have come to universally understand on their own. While it can be suggested that these may as well be signs, because they elicit the same response, keep in mind that the intent of the symbols may be different depending on the context. Perhaps there is a focus on a chair because the design of the chair is the punchline to some joke or the answer to a question. The black and white could of course symbolize a flashback, but it can also be purely for artistic preference, to suggest a mood shift, or symbolize the color having been drained from a character s life. Symbols are constantly evolving, and this is why they cannot be confused with the much more static natured
